3. INTRODUCTION
A Composite is a combination of two or more
visibly distinct materials that are mixed or bonded
together to form a unique identifiable material
with improved properties over those of matrix
and constituent materials.

Activity1: Testing different
kinds of ice
Activity 2: Hunting for composites
We compared the strength of pure ice
with the strength of a composite ice
made with tissue paper and ice made
with tissue paper with other material.
We searched about composites
materials and noticed the
variety of composite materials
that make up common
everyday object, also their
advantages
5. ACTIVITIES (3,4)
Activity 3: Exploring the
difference between strength and
stiffness
Strength relates to the maximum
amount of force a material can
experience before falling
-Stiffness relates to the amount of
deformation a material can experience
and still return to its original shape.
Activity 4 : Testing a foam
composite for strength and
stiffness
We test different samples of
foam beams for strength and
stiffness by clamping them to
the table and hanging weight
to the beams and measure
their deflection.
6. DESIGN PROJECT
Design project : Designing a fishing pole
We designed a fishing pole and choose
different materials in order for the fishing pole
to be strong ,flexible ,and have a light weight.
7. CHAIRS AGAINST HEAT
INTRODUCTION
Since Qatar is a country with a hot climate most of the
year, most of the exposed areas are exposed to high
temperatures, so we thought to make cover for chairs in
parks, schools, playgrounds and open spaces.
We want to make a cover made of composite materials to
isolate the heat and protect the chairs so that people can
use it easily

AIM OF THE PROJECT
Our goal of is to make composite cover
for the seats exposed to the sun, these
covers are easy to move and easy to
transfer, so people use can the seats
more comfortable and better than before.

HYPOTHESIS: ()الفرضية
By covering the chairs that are exposed to
the sun with composite covers, people will
be able to sit more conveniently in the
chairs without feeling the heat from the
chairs

METHODS AND MATERIALS
to make the covers we made composite
material from polystyrene and wool fabric
and attach them together to make the
cover easy to remove and transfer from
one place to another.

The composite cover helps in making
the seats more convenient to use and
light weighted so it can be removed
and transferred from one place to
another

More research can be done in this project so
another materials can be used that are less
expensive and can provide out composite
materials with more properties.
13. CONCLUSIONS
Composite materials are versatile and can be used for in
many purposes, we hope that this project can be used
everywhere to make outdoor seating more convenient to
use.
