• Introduction
• Activity 1: Testing Different Kinds of ice.
• Activity 2: Hunting for Composite Materials
• Activity 3: Exploring the Difference Between
Strength and Stiffness.
• Activity 4: Testing a foam composite for strength and
stiffness
• Design projects: Designing a fishing pole.
• Product Idea :
Composites
Composites - material can be defined as a mixture or combination of
two or more visibly distinct materials.
Types of Composites :
Particulate
composite
Laminar
composite
Fiber-reinforced
composite
Testing Different Kinds of Ice
we will do three ice samples: one of pure ice
, one of ice mixed tissue,
And one made up of many elements.
The first substance is broken the
ice a pure substance.
1
The second compound is broken
the ice and tissue.
2
And another compound is broken, ice
and other materials was very strong.
2 1 3
We concluded from this activity is that when adding other
elements of the compound changed its properties
Either increase stiffness or flexibility increases
But in this activity increased stiffness compound.

Hunting for Composite Materials
Composites are found in nature, as well as being
human-made . they can be made from either natural
Or synthetic components or a combination of the
two.

Exploring the Difference Between Strength and
We have different kind of material
1- steel rod
2- plastic rod
3- pasta
4- wooden rod
5- nylon rod
Stiffness
Activity 3: Exploring the Difference Between
Strength and Stiffness.
Strength flexibility
Steel Rod Nylon Rod
Nylon Rod Plastic Rod
Plastic Rod Wood Rod
Wood Rod steel Rod
Pasta Rod Pasta Rod
CONCLUSION:
Different materials have different strength and stiffness, some
are weak and stiff, some are strong and flexible, some are
strong and stiff, and some are weak and flexible.
Testing a foam Composite Strength and stiffness
A : plain foam.
B : one side paper
C : two side paper
D : two side paper
with disjoint a gap in
the middle.
C
A B
D
After bending found that:
A : It was broke easily .
B : stronger than A
C : It was very strong
D : strong, break from the
disjoint.
we use the paper as reinforcement
to make a foam composite stronger and stiffer than
either material by itself.

Activity 4: Testing a foam Composite Strength and
stiffness.
Designing a fishing pole
We work with a flexible rod that can
carry 200 g and diameter size two
rods.
And to be more flexible, we add a cotton batting and
covered it with the adhesive tape. And was able to
carry the weight of 200g length of 6 cm.
Product “A safe insecticide”
Laurel paper Powder
Sesame oil
Eucalyptus oil
Glue
This experiment has succeeded because the
drought glue !
This experiment has succeeded that we
didn’t put glue !
Product Idea
“A safe insecticide”
• Our product is insect killer safe, we manufacture this product
because we faced a lot of problems with insects as a vital and
essential vector for serious diseases, and despite the existence and
availability of effective insecticides everywhere but it is dangerous
to the health of children in the home being toxic so we created this
safe product made from natural materials effective insecticidal and
this is what sets it apart from other insecticides is the benefit of
our environment and our society.
Research objectives:
Creating a safe and effective pesticide at the same time.
“safe Assassin insects “
Hypothesis:
If we mix a group of oils with insect repellent nature
with some of the pungent smell of plants and the
formation of a homogeneous mixture of them will be
able to repel insects with the preservation of the
environment and the security of the human.
“safe Assassin insects”
Results:
Our product in eliminating insects is safe, effective and does not
lead to negative results when inhaled such as pesticides and other
insecticides.
Our product is very safe, you can use it in your home and you
won't worry about your children's safety.
Our product's effect began in eliminating insects during the first
day of use, the problem addressed by 80%.
“safe Assassin insects “
Recommendations:
 We recommend the use and development of our product in
the future, more effective and influential to make it.
 we recommend its use on a wider scale, it does not carry any
risk to humans and the environment is the botanical extract is
safe and non-toxic and can be used without there being
Warning for not weigh even in the case of misuse, and its
components are available everywhere and at affordable
prices, but for a way to prepare the boat, it is simple ways to
prepare, and can anyone to attend but must adhere to. The
quantities so as not to upset the boat.
Conclusions
• We had learned a lot of things because of
AL-Bairaq and Qatar University like what is
composite , how to make composite , And
we had a great experience on How to new
invent things.
Acknowledgment
Thank all people, teachers, friends, and our school that
supported us during our journey in AL-Bairaq project.
Also we would like to thank AL-Bairaq team and the sponsors
who gave us the opportunity to participate in AL-Bairaq project,
create and innovate.
