• Polymers are giant chain molecules made of
small repeating unit called monomers.

Design project: Designing a humidity sensor
In this activity we applied knowledge gained about
polymers to design a humidity sensor made from polymer
film, which change colors according to the humidity level.

• We will insert PVDF film under each key in the
keyboard, whenever the user press the key it
will generate electricity

• Inserting PVDF film in the keyboard keys will
generate voltage that could be used to reduce
the energy consumption in the laptop.

• Further researches could be done in this idea
to improve it
• The PVDF films could be used in the mouse
click button to increase the energy production

• Polymers have different properties and uses
and could be applied in our daily lives to help
solve many existing problems.
