3. Introduction
• A Composite material: is a material made from
two or more constituent materials with
significantly different physical or chemical
properties that, when combined, produce a
material with characteristics different from the
individual components.
4. Activities 1: Testing Different kinds of Ice
• At first we made three samples each sample
contain different types of materials after that
we mixed each sample material and freeze
them. After freezing we effected it by force.

7. Activities 3: Exploring the Difference Between Strength and Stiffness.
• Strength: The amount of force a material can
withstand before final deformation .
• Stiffness: The amount of deflection a material can
withstand before final deformation .
• The five materials
(wood,pasta,plastic,steel and
nylon) where tested to know
the most strength and
stiffness materials.
8. Activities 3: Exploring the Difference Between Strength and Stiffness.
• We knew that not all the strong
materials are stiff.

11. Design Project: Designing a Fishing Pole
• To make a perfect fishing pole it have to be:
1. Flexible: capable of bending easily without breaking.
2. Strong: It has the ability to carry heavy weights.
3. Low weight.

12. Design Project: Designing a Fishing Pole
• The fishing pole
achieved the conditions
and it was flexible,
strong and low weight.
14. Final Project:
(Title: E-N Shell Composite Wood)
• Product idea:
People don’t know what to do with the old wood and they throw it
so this project came up with a solution for how old wood can be used
again?
By using egg shell, nut shell and the old wood, will come up with a
new wood with higher efficiency, eco-friendly wood and anti-insects.
Which will reduce the manufacturing loss and cutting trees.
16. E-N Shell Composite Wood
Methods and Materials
• Methods:
1. Egg and nut shell were collected.
2. Grind them into powder.
3. More than one sample were formed in different material
ratios.
4. Samples were compressed.
5. Tested the mechanical properties.
17. E-N Shell Composite Wood
• Benefits:
1. Strength
2. Anti-insects
3. Eco-friendly
4. Low cost
5. Light weight
• Result:
the product will provide hundreds
of highly efficient and low-cost
wood to be used in furniture and
construction.
At the same time, it will help clean
the environment from nasty
pollutants and slow

Recommendations:
• Recommend collecting egg shells and nuts
from homes and restaurants and making
further studies on this topic and machine to be
used to develop it.
19. Conclusions
• Participating in Al-Bairaq project was extremely
exciting and full of challenges that helped us to
improve our self-confidence and life experiences.
• We have done many researchers to come up with
this project and we want this project to be used in
Qatar.
