3. Introduction
– A composite material is a material made
from two or more constituent materials with
significantly different physical or chemical
properties that, when combined, produce a
material with characteristics different from
the individual components. The individual
components remain separate and distinct
within the finished structure.
4. Activities 1: Testing Different kinds of
Ice
We prepared 3 samples:
(1): Ice Sample
(2): Ice + tissue Sample
(3): Ice + tissue + iron fiding
Result: Sample (3) is the strongest one and sample (1) is the
weakest one.

6. Activities 2: Hunting for Composite
Materials.
Hunting for Composite Materials
Composite materials are generally used
for: buildings, bridges and structures
such as boat hulls, sports equipment,
swimming pool panels, race car bodies,
shower stalls, bathtubs, storage tanks
etc...
7. Activities 3: Exploring the Difference
Between Strength and Stiffness.
We tested different materials for strength and flexibility
Strong → weak Most flexibility → least flexibility
1-iron 1-nylon cord
2-nylon cord 2- iron
3-plastic 3-plastic
4-wood 4-wood
5-pasta 5-Pasta
8. Activities 4: Exploring the Difference
Between Strength and Stiffness.
Sample 1 : plain foam beam
• Sample 2 : foam with one side paper
• Sample 3 : foam with two sides paper
• Than we compared the 3 samples and took measurements
• Sample 3 was the strongest one and sample 1 was the weakest one
• Foam composite is more stronger than plain foam
10. Design Project: Designing a Fishing Pole
Designing a Fishing pole:
Materials used were (scissors ,thread ,tape
, Straw and woods). To design a fishing
pole we made a strong core, then, then on
top we made it a little flexible so as it is
not to be broken
11. Design Project: Designing a Fishing Pole
The Result The fishing pole should be strong,
flexible and lightweight .

13. Introduction
Do NOT think "this can never happen to my
child." Children are often unpredictable
and even when they are being careful there
are dangers in the kitchen. Of course, you
yourself can be burned, as well.
Simply our idea is formed to help mothers to
protect their children life ,by designing an anti
heat onesie that provide a safe life for kids .
The onesie will contain layers that block
penetration of the heat to the body .
14. 1. Protect children from burn
injuries.
2. Satisfy mothers care and
comfort for keeping their
children safe while they are
busy working in the kitchen.
3. Reduce burn accidents that
can happen for children .
Objectives
15. Methods and Materials
o Kids onesie : (final project shape)
o Nano fiber layer : (avoid the absorption of
the hot liquids)
o Fiber glass layer : ( anti heat layer)
o Cotton layer : ( keep the onesie comfortable)
18. In case of using this
onesie you can be sure
that your children is
protected from heat , so
the parents can do their
works easily .
