4. Activity (1,2)
Activity 1:Changing Polymer pellets
Activity 2 : hunting for polymer
products
Soil moist (polyacrylamide) is a
synthetic polymer when placed in
water can absorb over 200 times of
their weight .
We used internet to search about
natural and synthetic polymer and
their properties also the meaning of
the recycling codes.
5. Activity(3,4)
Activity 3 : Comparing The Viscosity Of
Liquids
In this activity we explore the effect
of polymer’s molecular weight and
concentration on the viscosity of
polymer solutions .
Activity 4 : Testing The Strength Of
Different Polymer Films
In this activity we tested and compared
the stretch ability and tensile strength of
polymer films having different
molecular weights .
6. In this activity we applied knowledge gained about polymers
to design a humidity sensor made from polymer film. which
change colors according to the humidity level .
Design project : Designing a humidity sensor
DESIGN PROJECT
8. Introduction
• There has been a substantial amount of
electricity usage in current time.
• It is ultimately draining the conventional fuel
resources which are available in limited
quantities.
• One should identify the means by which they
can save these resources due to their limited
quantity availability and also the harm which
it is causing to the environment.
9. PVDF Streets
Aim of the project
The aim of the project is to build streets with
PVDF membranes to produce electricity.
11. PVDF Streets
Material and Methods
• When PVDF is pressed it will produce voltage
• PVDF films will be inserted into different
points along the street, when the car pass
over them it will produce energy.
13. PVDF Streets
Recommendations: ()التوصيات
• Further researches can be done to improve
our project idea.
• PVDF streets can be used in Qatar streets
which can help produce more energy.
14. Conclusions
(Overall of the whole module)
Polymers have different properties and uses and
could be applied in our daily lives to help solve
many existing problems.
15. Acknowledgment
Many thanks to my school and AL-Bairaq team from Qatar
University for supporting us during our journey with a AL-Bairaq.
Also, I would like to thank the sponsors Ras Laffan Industrial City
Community Outreach Program.
