Religious Beliefs Of The Catholic Church
The Catholic Church s current pope, Pope Francis, once said, A good Catholic meddles in politics,
offering the best of himself, so that those who govern can govern. But what is the best that we can
offer to those who govern? Prayer! (Pope Francis, 2013). Catholics are approximately half of the
number of Christians, numbering more than one billion members. This number makes it one of the
largest religions in the world. In 2003, the Catholic population in the United States was 63.4 million
people (Roman Catholic Church, 2017). The Catholic Church s basic beliefs influence their
demographics, party affiliation, stances on different political issues, and involvement in American
politics.
I attended a service at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At this service,
politics were not directly mentioned, but Father Darin Schmidt said a few interesting words. In a
message to the congregation he said, love unconditionally, without limits. He also said, peace, liberty,
and justice for all. One might recognize liberty and justice for all from our nation s Pledge of
Allegiance, and this quote displays a sense of patriotism in the church. These quotes are helpful in
understanding the Catholic Church s ideologies. During prayer, they mentioned a few current issues
including support for the military, the Las Vegas shooting, refugees, and victims of natural disasters.
Besides these few observations, the service did not express any straightforward political

The Discovery Of The Soft Drink Coca Cola
Like many the most notable inventions and ideas that have come to past the discovery of the soft drink
Coca Cola was an accident. In the year 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, a pharmacist by the name of John
Pemberton was trying to create a type of medical syrup with the purpose of help those with fatigue,
anxiety, and oral illnesses. Along with his assistant they added ice to the mixture and deemed the
concoction tasty enough for the public. With the growing demand the assistant unknowingly added
carbonated water to the medication and it was then that the drink known around the world as Coca
Cola was made. In modern times the drink is consumed by an estimated one billion individuals a day.
Even though many think that it was an overnight success in reality Pemberton reportedly spent $74
dollars trying to promote the beverage in its initial days but only managed to sell $50. As the company
went on to become the dominant brand within the realms of soft drinks Coca Cola eventually
developed a vision which involved achieving and maintaining a state of quality and growth. The
company prioritized the people that they are associated with be that the consumers or employees and
set out to make their environment a great place to work. The company not only holds concerns for its
employees but also the planet as a whole as they consistently take part in helping any community that
they happen to be associated with by creating numerous charities and funds in order to benefit those in
need.

A Comparison Between Chinese Etiquette and the Western...
中西方礼仪文化差异 生活百科 With China entry the WTO and will hold the Olympic games in
2008, the relationship between China and Western in politics, economy, culture will become more and
more close. It is undoubtedly that the etiquette will play an important role in this process. To the
definition of etiquette, China and Western have a different understanding. As Chinese thinks that the
etiquette is the common behavior standards that all the members must obey, and its purpose is to keep
the normal living order of the society. In ancient China, a famous philosopher thinks that etiquette is a
principal to deal with the relationship between man and supernatural beings, man and ghosts, man and
men. There are also many words about etiquette in English. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Faculty are addressed as Professor (abbreviated as Prof. ).In an informal situation, westerners will
introduce each other by first name, without titles, and occasionally by just the last name. If you are
introduced to somebody by first name, you can address him or her by first name the next time you
meet. The only exception would be for someone who holds an important position, such as the
university president or provost. Unless they tell you otherwise, faculty should be addressed using their
title and last name (e.g., Professor Smith ). When in doubt, use the formal manner of address, since it
is better to err on the side of formality. It is also appropriate to ask how they prefer to be addressed.
Children should always address adults in the formal fashion, using their title and last name. Another
difference is about the form of addressing. From the viewpoint of sociolinguistics, forms of addressing
can serve as an indication of the relationship of power and solidarity in the society. In calling their
superiors or elders, the Chinese are accustomed to the nonreciprocal or asymmetrical addressing, in
other words. They use title +surname to address their superior or elders rather than call them
surnames, while the superior or elders call the addressers their names. The Chinese tend to abide by
the polite principle of depreciating oneself and respecting others to show appropriate respects towards
the persons being

Donald Trump Monologues
Although my main focus of my mockumentary was Trump s issue with Mexicans, I d like to expand
the focus onto Trump s racism, xenophobia and general thoughts, policies and views that have
offended many different individuals and groups of people. I believe that these things he has said he
would do should nullify his eligibility to run for president.
Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went
as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. According to Forbes
article written by Dolia Estevez, he wants to deport 11.3 million undocumented workers, 6 million of
which are Mexicans, and strip babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship.
Trump s public racism dates back to long before the start of his presidential campaign. As a real estate

Trump recently announced that Muslimes showeuld noot be alowed in the country
One of the scariest things about Trump saying all these things is that there s so many people out there
that think these things and when they see someone who s running for president, they feel like their
opinion is validated. This causes increased racism and xenophobia amongst the population. This is
dangerous because people also feel like they can also now act upon these things; for example someone
may feel like it is okay to beat up a muslim because Trump, a presidential candidate, spoke openly of

Urinary Tract Infection Paper
The scope, history, and duration of catheter associated urinary tract infections is reviewed. The scope
of catheter associated urinary tract infections is when an individual acquires an infection that has been
caused by the insertion of a catheter. The individual may have had the catheter in place for a short
period of time and acquired it upon insertion related to the lack of sterile technique. However, the
individual also may have had the catheter in place over a long period of time and acquired an
infection. Roger, Feneley, Hopley, and Wells (2015) explain that the body s natural flora is disrupted
from ascending in the urinary tract and colonizing a bacterial infection during normal bladder
emptying. However, if a catheter is in place this allows for easy ascending bacteria to colonize and

The use of catheters to empty bladders dates to over 3500 years ago, and Foley indwelling catheters
have been used over the past 80 years (Roger, Feneley, Hopley, and Wells, 2015). The catheter was
first initiated for the use of male, intermittent self catheterization purposes, it was rigid, and implied
for urinary retention (Roger, Feneley, Hopley, and Wells, 2015). Roger, Feneley, Hopley, and Wells
(2015) continue to explain that urinary incontinence was not a pertinent medical need to address, and
it wasn t until a urologist invented the Foley catheter that it was used for these purposes. However, this
intervention is great at assisting to prevent skin breakdown in the elder population related to the
effects of urine in constant contact with the skin, but indwelling catheters do not come without several
other medical problems that can result, as mentioned above (Roger, Feneley, Hopely, and Wells,
2015). In addition to these problems, Foley indwelling catheters have been associated with balloon
fragments if the balloon bursts and urethral trauma (Roger, Feneley, Hopley, and Wells,

Manhattan Project Research Papers
The Manhattan Project was a very important event in the history of the United States. The figure of
the United states was always kept and the Manhattan Project was thought to be put in place to keep the
U.S. safe. The project included the production of the very first atomic bomb, many scientists and
political figures to operate, and the future that it created for the U.S. First, the project was created to
not only build the first atomic bomb for the U.S. but to ensure that the U.S. had a bigger weapon
compared to Germany. When the U.S. heard that Germany had the capability of a weapon of mass
destruction, in 1940 the U.S. cultivated the soon to be called Manhattan Project with $6,000 in
research funds and the supervision of L.J. Briggs (director of National Bureau of Standards). In 1942,

Roosevelt to start a program around nuclear fission to combat German efforts. Additionally, American

Third, the historical significance of the Manhattan Project involved securing the future of the U.S.
from foreign countries such as Russia and Germany. First off, Germany and Britain were the first to

experiments. The introduction into this new area of fission was important to the U.S. because it
allowed us to use the atomic bomb for protection against the countries who were also trying to create a

The Heroic Stand Of Crossing Into Womanhood
Jasmine Ware July 26, 2016 Research Essay A Bold Act of Love: The Heroic Stand of Crossing into
Womanhood In Henrik Ibsen s play A Doll House he uses an individual female, Nora Helmer, as being
the most predominant character who has been controlled most of her life by her father and husband.
Nora s husband, Torvald Helmer, is seen to be an overprotected husband that leads Nora to believe she
is a precious little doll in obeying his commands. During the play Ibsen uses another character, Nils
Krogstad, who soon begins to become a part of Nora and Torvald s marriage. Mr. Krogstad is a bank
clerk that was under the management of Torvald, but later in the story he is threatened to lose his job.
In the play, Nora and Krogstad become partners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clearly Nora does not have the proper means financially, physically, or educationally to maintain a
stable household for her kids and husband. Nora s relationship with her father and Torvald has shaped
her into the woman she is posing to be. She is under a mutual control being a shadow of what they
want her to be. Many people see Nora as being the weakest link in this poem, considering her lack of
ability to voice her opinion. Throughout the play, Torvald constantly uses little childish names when
addressing Nora perhaps when he says Is that my little lark twittering out there? (Ibsen 1190). Nora s
mindset clearly begins to overlook the fact that Torvald may be picking at her in a way. Torvald is also
seen to be picking at Nora for eating macaroons when he makes the statement Surely my sweet tooth
hasn t been running riot in town today, has she? (Ibsen 1192). This clearly states that Torvald s opinion
of macaroons is invalid for Nora, because he would not want her to become fat in possibly ruining his
image. Nora s childhood is the birth of all future relationships that grants control, which makes Nora
feel as if she has no power in being an independent woman. Nora is seen as a little precious doll who
is a valuable possession of her father and husband. She never feels like she has the courage to stand on
her own and be a woman because all she knows is being under the control of someone else. The first
aspect of Nora crossing into womanhood was symbolized by the

Effective Communication And Its Impact On The World
In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most beneficent.
Leadership is the art of directing individuals and workers towards a proverbial point C in the distance.
The success of reaching the destination is highly contingent upon the ability of leadership to
communicate. As Muslims, we need to look no further than the Quran. We are shown examples of
effective communication by Prophets and shown conviction of those who follow the divine message.
However, a great example of such communication hinges on the success demonstrated by an insect as
tiny as 1 millimeter in size; the ant. The ant, which by no coincidence is the 27th Surah in the Quran,
is the epitome of effective communication and organization. Ant colonies consist of 3 ... Show more

The ability of the leadership to clearly communicate these objectives can mean the difference between
a successful organization and one that remains stagnant. However this can only be conveyed
effectively if the given mission and vision are clear.
An ambiguous mission and vision set leadership portrays several qualities of inadequate leadership; 1)
lack of clarity of the end goal causes leadership and management to head in any direction they see fit.
Often times the chosen direction chosen by one leader of an organization will be contradictory to
direction of other leaders causing inefficiency and internal strife in the organization. In the event
leadership is turned over, the lack of clarity is magnified, as the direction is often arbitrarily changed
per the whim and desires of the new leadership. This type of direction shift is prevalent in religious
establishments and organizations which elect members from the constituency. Leaders are put in place
without proper understanding of the direction or goals. This concoction of leaders changes direction
and scope with ease and regardless of the consequences. As a result, lack of motivation of the more
experienced can ensue. To further complicate management, many of these disgruntled will choose to
simply leave the organization. This effectively removes the efficient, yet critical, member and retains
the sub par;

established the largest free trade region in the world and included the elimination of tariffs,
agreements on trades in services, and a dispute settlement mechanism for trade disagreements.

The Mexican Peso Crisis
The Mexican Peso Crisis in December 1994 was a currency crisis that was sparked by the Mexican
government s devaluation of the peso against the U.S. dollar. In 1994, the government started
expansionary fiscal and monetary policy in an attempt to attract more foreign investment dollars into
Mexico. It used an odd form of government debt to attract investment. The government issued short
term debt in the local currency, peso, but promised to repay the debt in US dollars. Basically, the
government was gambling that the peso would remain strong or even strengthen against the US dollar
so the government s debt would be reduced. I think the logic was that the government believed that

Dilsey Gibson, a black woman, serves as a mother figure for the children and a caretaker for the rest

off. Find the note, she said. Quentin left a note when he did it (283). This is showing that Dilsey can
figure Mrs. Compson out and wants to protect her. She believes that Miss Quentin will come back and
wants to help spare Mrs. Compson some heartache. Even though Mrs. Compson treats her poorly, she
still looks out for her. I believe that at this time in the South, black people knew white people better
than white people knew black people. White people could not see past the prejudice. Dilsey also
stabilizes the house when she looks after Miss Quentin. For example, Dilsey says to Jason, Well, you

It s A Nomad World
In It s A Nomad Nomad World , Bruce Chatwin explains the value of travel in a human s life and how
one can benefit from it. A thesis to take away from the text is that humans are travellers at heart. When
humankind is presented with a challenge, they are not prone to shying away; furthermore, once
humans have started a journey they are admirably resilient to quitting, and finally; humans are
constantly searching to experience new sights and sounds. Because of these traits, it is evident why
humans are often found on journeys. As John Steinback once said, People don t take trips, trips take
people , emphasizing that although humans believe they are the ones who decide to embark on a trip,
it is actually the opposite: they are unable to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My knife is gripped underhanded, and my spear waggles in the air. And then I bark again and again
(Hitt 110). When Hill encounters these dogs he is prepared, with his knife and spear in hand he will do
whatever it takes in order to conquer this obstacle that stands in his path even if it means barking. As
Hitt is a traveler at heart, he will not allow the dogs, mere mortals, to stop him from continuing his
pilgrimage. Also, humans often encounter physically draining problems like Bill Bryson experiences
while hiking the Appalachian Trail in A Walk in the Woods: It was hell. First days on hiking trips
always are. I was hopelessly out of shape hopelessly. The pack weighed way too much. Way too much
(Bryson 50). In this case Bryson is struggling to deal with the intense physical strain that hiking places
on a traveler. Nevertheless, Bryson refuses to give up as he mentions Still you stagger on (Bryson 51);
showcasing how humans refuse to give in even when the journey becomes physically tiring. Another
type of challenge, oftentimes the most difficult to deal with is the emotional war the journey unleashes
on the traveler. For Bryson, this comes from how difficult it is to see the progress that is being made
while hiking through the mountains: The elusive summit continually retreats by whatever distance you
press forward, so that each time the canopy parts enough to give a view you are dismayed to see that
the topmost trees are as remote, as unattainable, as before

Modern Juvenile Justice System
Today, the debate over the development and change of the modern juvenile justice system raises the
problem of its adaptation to the specific environment, where the juvenile justice system is
implemented. To put it more precisely, the juvenile justice system is traditionally different from the
adult justice system. However, today, the youth tends to commit serious crimes, which raise the public
criticism in relation to the modern juvenile justice system because the punishment of juveniles is
considered by average citizens irrelevant to the crime they commit. In such a case, violent crimes
committed by juveniles provoke a particularly severe criticism of the modern juvenile justice system.
However, the public is often unaware of the substantial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is meant here is the fact that, unlike adult offenders, juveniles have larger options in this regard.
At this point, it is possible to refer to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974
(JJDPA), which resulted in dramatic changes mandating the removal of juveniles from adult jails and
police lock ups, requiring a parallel system of juvenile detention centers for those who needed to be
held securely, and forbidding the secure confinement of status offenders and children in need of
supervision (Hayward, 2004). In such a way, the practice of using juvenile detention centers was
rejected and replaced by other programs, which introduced less restrictive measures on the freedom of
juvenile offenders and put them into less strict conditions. In this respect, it is possible to distinguish
three major pre adjudication programs juvenile offenders may be involved in, including shelters,
holdover programs, and home detention. First, shelters are widely used and involve the community
assistance to juvenile offenders detention. In terms of this program, some communities have non
secure, temporary residential facilities intended for children removed from their homes in the initial
stages of child protective services investigations or for children who may be picked up by police as
status offenders (Reiman, 2006). As for holdover programs, they also aim at securing the position of
juveniles. Holdover program requires a room (this might be located in a police station or sheriff s
department, or some other public facility) and someone (either a volunteer or part time employee) who
can provide continuous supervision of a youth for a few hours or overnight pending transportation
(Reiman, 2006). Finally, the home detention is another program that may be applied in terms of the
pre adjudication. In actuality, the home

Explain Why It Is Wrong To Walk Away From Mortgage
I think that it is wrong to walk away from your mortgage if you are able to pay it.Many people
disagree with this. They feel as though it is completely ethical to walk way from a contract. They have
three main reasons as to why they feel this way. The first reason is that it makes financial sense in the
short term. They think it is financially wise in some cases to walk away from your mortgage. The
second reason is that banks account for this in their financial plans. So if banks account for people
walking away from their loans this somehow makes it ok to do that? The final reason is that the banks
participate in unethical endeavors so it makes it alright for the borrower to unethically walk away
from their loan. The first reason is partially

Necklace Quotes In The Necklace
Are you willing to sacrifice your life for material things? In The Necklace by Guy De Maupassant, a
woman named Mathilde puts a necklace above everything, and ends up losing it all. The theme of The
Necklace is to always focus on what you have more than what you want. Mathilde was too focused on
looking good and having fancy things to appreciate what she had. This leads to her losing a precious
diamond necklace that she borrowed from a friend. Mathilde works for 10 long years to pay off the
necklace. She loses what little she had in order to pay for it, and ends up blaming her friend for all of
her hardship she and her husband had to endure.
Mathilde s love for material things can be seen in a quote as follows, She grieved over the shabbiness
of her apartment, the dinginess of the walls, the worn out appearance of the chairs, the ugliness of the
draperies. All of these things, which another woman of her class would not even had noticed, gnawed
at her and made her furious. (Guy De Maupassant). As you can see in the quote, Mathilde was so
concerned with how things looked that she couldn t appreciate what she had; such as a home, food, or
a husband who loves her.
It is also very apparent in the story that Mathilde is willing to sacrifice her relationships for material
things. This can be seen with the following quote Let s see, Mathilde. How much would a suitable
outfit cost one you could wear to other affairs too something very simple? She thought it over for

The Implementation Of School Uniforms
Syanne Chhan

English III Honors

Title of Your Report
A newly popular, controversial issue debated upon is the implementation of school uniforms. In the
United States, school uniforms have become more and more widespread. Although, some schools
disagree with the requirement of a school uniform and decide to require a school dress code instead.
The pros and cons of a school uniform are very controversial. Deciding whether a school uniform
should be implemented is not a black and white issue.
Arguments to support school uniforms state that school uniforms create an altogether better
environment for students. This better environment in turn, creates more learning and a greater sense of
focus from students. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Cons, Pro) Requiring all students to wear the same uniform creates less diversity and causes students
to become more dedicated in their academics. By doing so, uniforms, take away the daily fashion
show and helps level the playing field a little bit with the haves and have nots, (Sweeney, Emily).
Relating to the less diversity that uniforms create in schools, uniforms can decrease the formation of
cliques and gangs. Due to the fact that all students are dressed the same, members of a certain gang
can not be identified. Another positive about implementing uniforms is that students can be easily
identified and the identification of an intruder or outsider can take place easily.
Uniforms create pride and unity throughout a school. Some experts believe that uniforms help students
to, develop a stronger team mentality among the student body, (9 Serious). Uniforms can in turn,
increase school spirit. This is possible, again relating to, the students all wearing the same or similar
uniforms and decreasing the variety of outfits throughout a student body.
Some arguments that are seen as positives for enforcing school uniforms are controversial because
critics believe the arguments are not valid. Due to the fact that all students are dressed the same and
less variety of outfits are prevalent, critics state that school uniforms deny students the ability of self
expression. Critics, argue that kids

how we make decisions. Descartes questioned how the mind an abstract concept could interact with

that prairie voles have a higher density of receptors for arginine vasopressin (AVP) and oxytocin (OT).
Little is known about the role of AVP, but it has been found that OT is released during positive social
interactions and inhibited during defensive behaviors such as fighting. From a philosophical
standpoint, the correlation between higher OT receptor density and monogamy is alarming. This
pattern has shown consistent in other mammals. Results concerning humans are not yet available. One
would assume that monogamy is a personal life choice, neuroscience suggests that there may be more
to the story. While uncertain that the pattern between higher OT levels and monogamous partnering
seen in prairie voles is consistent in humans, this example shows that philosophy and the questions
once regarded as exclusive to its discipline can benefit from being explored in the hard science of
neuroscience. In addition to neuroscience offering empirical evidence and an additional perspective to
philosophy, I believe philosophy is capable of aiding neuroscience in the realm of the hard sciences.
The neuroscientific issue of monogamous

Biofeedback Therapy In Chronic Constipation
Introduction; Chronic constipation is an annoying common bowel problem which has significant
impact on health expenses and quality of life. Up to 50% of chronic constipation patients are outlet
dysfunction type constipation, which divided in to structural and functional causes. Functional
defecation disorders include dyssynergic defecation (paradoxical contraction or failure to relax the
pelvic floor and anal muscles during defecation). Patients with dyssynergic defecation are often
unresponsive to common conservative medical treatment, and surgical methods has poor benefit and
can be lead to anal incontinence. Therefore, behavioral treatment such as biofeedback therapy is the
best choice for this functional disability. Methods; In a randomized

Foodborne Illnesses In The United States
There have been many outbreaks of foodborne illnesses in the United States which claim thousands of
lives each year. I chose my essay topic based on my desire to contribute to creating awareness of
simple methods of foodborne disease prevention. Also, I currently work in the healthcare service
industry and I am enrolled in Community and Public Health with UoPeople. This topic is directly
related to my career.
Foodborne illnesses are infections of the digestive tract caused by eating infected foods or drinks.
These illnesses are caused by pathogens such as harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses. These
pathogens cause death or get people hospitalized. Some examples are Salmonella, E.coli, and
Norovirus. These are found in raw and undercooked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results showed that foods contaminated by these pathogens caused 9.4 million illnesses, 55,961
hospitalizations, and 1,351 deaths each year (p. 12).
Even though people are aware of the importance of cleaning their homes, majority do not comprehend
how cleaning can reduce the level of bacteria in their meals. Also, a lot of Americans undercook their
meat, chicken, and egg. Most do not understand, or find it difficult to understand the safe food
handling instructions on the labels of the products they buy. They even do not keep to the
recommended requirements when storing food in their refrigerators. Since proper food storage reduces
the rate of bacteria growth, the refrigerator temperature should be set to between 32F and 41F. (Bruhn,
2014, p. 319, 326)
However, according to Doyle, et al (2015), there has been reduction in the number of outbreaks and
illnesses due to E.coli infections in the past 15 years. This is due to CDC mandate that clinicians
conduct laboratory testing and reporting of microbial agents that cause illnesses. As a result, foods
highly at risk of getting contaminated are being monitored, inclding natural foods that contain little or
no antimicrobial agents (p. 254). Also, clinicians have taken more active role in educating people
about ways to prevent or reduce foodborne diseases. Washing hands properly as well as changing
cutting boards after handling raw poultry or meat is very important for food

what is happening in class. I think that if we need to listen to something, it can be done as a class with
speakers. 8. How can you use audio books in your classroom to provide a viable alternative to reading

The Argument For Marijuana Legalization In Canada
The Liberal government of Canada is bringing up the issue with marijuana legalization this spring.
The proposition of the legalization has its supporters and opponents that make that change difficult to
implement in the Canadian society. The statistics have shown that most Canadians are expecting this

Good Versus Evil In The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight (2008), directed by Christopher Nolan, demonstrates the idea of good versus evil.
Batman is known as the protagonist, and Joker is known as the ultimate villain. The representation of
crime in the film is seen from the actions of both characters. The film essentially depicts the act of
deviance meaning, behaviour that violates social norms, including laws . In normality the government
would have the greatest amount of power, but in the Gotham city, power is complex. There is minimal
structure of law and order in Gotham city due to powerful people like Batman and the Joker. Citizens
of Gotham city can no longer fight for themselves in a world filled with supernatural powers.
Therefore, the only hope that citizens have rest in the hands of Batman. Although Batman attempts to
save Gotham city from Joker s criminal intentions. Batman, however, also plays a role in deviant
activity while attempting to catch the Joker. Realistically, Batman violates the moral code due to
destructive behaviour, and putting the lives of citizens at harm. He does not care for social norms, nor
whether his acts are of legality. He is devoted to combat organized crime with Harvey Dent, a district
attorney in Gotham city. Batman is in fact, the definition of crime, he understands but does not abide
to individual rights and social contracts which make up the rule of law. In addition, the man behind
Batman, Bruce Wayne also portrays a form of deviance by disguising himself as Batman.

College Tuition Should Be Free Essay
College Tuition Should Be Free For All Students
College tuition should be free because even with a good degree it is hard for students to overcome the
crippling debt of college tuition. High tuition prices are also an obstacle that keeps out those without
access to affordable education, even though they may be great candidates who may do well in college
and head their field in the future. The current system displays several flaws. The government should
put the money slotted for financial aid into the state s education budget so that tuition can be free and
to create a better and more fruitful learning environment.
College debt in the U.S. has risen to just around 1.2 trillion dollars and rises about $2,726 every
second (Berman). These numbers are astronomical, and to put them in perspective, the to tal debt of
the United States of America is just under 20 trillion. When starting to see numbers to this degree, it s
time to take action by not letting this debt grow any larger and trying to start lowering it. People are
beginning to understand that our current system may not be viable in the future. More than two thirds
of Americans support tuition free college because they want an ed ucation themselves or for their
children, but don t want to be beset with crippling debt throughout the rest of their lives (White).
College should be free for students because the U.S. government has many ways to make reasonable
changes that would lead to a surplus of money that they then

statements on its orientation and level with regard to data, people and things. Orientation is deliberated

items are unsuitable for managerial and professional jobs as it engages only use of machines and
equipment. The PAG method can also be somewhat complex to use. The Critical Incident Technique
The critical incidents technique can be defined as a set of procedures for methodically identifying
behaviors that add to the success or failure of individuals or organizations in specific situations. The
pros of the critical incident technique is that its best at determining vital features of the job, another
advantage is that It s flexible and the information can easily be collected, the respondent speaks
without restraint, and it focuses on day to day actions. In addition, it s not expensive and will aid in
finding out a lot of significant information. This technique can be applied by only using the
questionnaire , conducting an interview is not necessary. The cons of this method is propensity to trait

Multiple Ideas In The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
While writing The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald had many inspirations that helped him form what
is considered the great American novel. Fitzgerald portrays multiple ideas throughout the story that
closely relate to events in his own life in the early 1900s. He wanted his book to be different. He
wanted to create something greater, with this work. The book is considered to be written closely to his
own experiences, and could have been Nick Carraway or Jay Gatsby himself. When Fitzgerald first
wrote Gatsby in the 1920s, it was not an instant sensation. Although all the copies from the first run of
20,870 sold, many copies from the second run languished in a warehouse until Fitzgerald s death in
1940 at the age of 44 (Lombardi). His books became a huge hit when they were sent over to ... Show

However, his readers may not know where he got the inspiration to write his book or where some of
his profound ideas came from. Ironically Fitzgerald based many different ideas in his novel, to events
that were happening in his own life. Some articles suggest that Fitzgerald based the plot of Gatsby
from two real life murders that he was influenced by. 1922 was also the year of the Hall Mills
murders, a horrific double homicide full of the sort of salacious detail that turns a tragedy into tabloid
fodder (Churchwood). The book Careless People expresses facts of the Hall Mills murders, and how
closely related it was to the secret love between Daisy and Gatsby, and Tom and Myrtle Wilson. It is
described that an adulterous couple, Edward Hall and Eleanor Mills, who were both married to other
people, were found dead side by side on rural property; a popular spot for couples. It was said Mills
was sadistically mutilated (Churchwood). It was also said that Halls spouse was rather wealthy and
used her money to eliminate the case. After all, she and her brothers were prime

How Does Golding Use Ethos In Lord Of The Flies
In The Lord if the Flies, by William Golding, Ralph and Jack are two of the boys that are stranded on
the island, due to an airplane crash. These two boys evolve into the two leaders of the group, with Jack
assuming control after the boys are dissatisfied with Ralph. Ralph tends to use logos and Jack relies on
ethos. Ralph s use of logos is shown throughout the novel, and how he logically plans out all of his
decisions, considering all the benefits and detriments to each choice. Jack mainly uses pathos, and all
of his decisions are based on his feelings in the moment, making him very emotional. They both use a

Power Of Women In The Canterbury Tales
Many medieval texts seem to focus on depicting men and their adventures fighting evil, they
nonetheless have quite a bit to say about women exerting power in these texts. The 2 medieval works
that portrays women exerting power is, The Canterbury tales: the wife of bath s tale prologue and The
Canterbury tales: the Miller s prologue and tale , both written by Geoffrey Chaucer.
The women in these texts portray their power through sexuality. This is one of the abilities that women
can offer to have maximum power. Women are usually shown as an impotent object that can only bare
children and are expected to be mothers. Women typically are not seen as warriors or heroes, because
of the antifeminist views by men back in the medieval texts. The Canterbury tales: the wife of bath s
prologue by Chaucer is about a woman who exercises power and authority through her instrument of
sexuality towards her husbands. This woman has utter control over her men, which proves the
statement that women do exert power over men in these medieval passages. The second passage

Zora Neale Hurston Sweat Summary
Brenda Cozar
Professor Galindo
English 1302 NC8
4 December 2014
A Hard Working Woman
Zora Naele Hurston published Sweat in the 1920 s, a piece of literature which narrates the story of a
hard working woman by the name of Delia Jones and her struggles to overcome the oppression of her
abusive husband. As the piece of literature advances, readers can interpret various symbols
incorporated into the writing. Three of the major themes found in this story are domestic abuse,
empowerment, and survival and these are interlinked by symbols such as the pile of white clothes, her
sweat, and the Chinaberry tree. The symbols in the story and the theme together make the story more
powerful and amazing for the readers. In addition, Delia Jones character is a dynamic character that
rises from the ashes from being this character that tolerates Sykes abuse into liberated soul who no
longer lives in fear.

As how Barbara Ryan mentions, This introduction prepares us to think anew about fiction in which a
wash woman is heavily burdened not only by her job, but also by a wastrel husband (Invisible Men:
Hurston...). This slowly starts to come to an end when Delia is tired of Sykes always stepping all over
her. She is tired to always being looked as someone useless. Delia tries to stand up for herself and
show Sykes that she is not going to be putting up with his physical and emotional abuse anymore. In
this era of time it is the way of life that a woman had to be marry because woman were not viewed as
someone who could sustain a life on their own. But Delia knew that was not the case in her marriage.
She had been through enough and she is the one that is supporting her husband instead of it being the

Pros And Cons Of Shale Gas
Shale gas is an unconventional emerging energy source that since 2008 has had an increase in both
conventional and unconventional well inspections which have led to a decrease in violations (Phillips,
2016). In 2015, inspectors issued 404 violations whereas in 2010 inspectors issued 1,280 violations
(Phillips, 2016)! In addition, for the year 2015, the Department of Environmental Investigation
reported no findings of wrongdoing of water contamination through methane migration by the gas
industry. Moreover, the Department of Environmental Protection is the responsible party for reviewing

Environmental Protection is regulating the exploration, development, and recovery of Marcellus Shale
natural gas reservoirs in a way that will protect the environment and the commonwealth national

The Hubble Telescope Report
The first reason why shutting down Hubble would be a calamity is that it made important
contributions to the development of astronomy and the exploration of the universe in the history.
Traced back to the historical period, in 1946, the astronomer Lyman Spitzer put forward a large space
telescope and he thought that this type of telescope was more advantages than a ground based
telescope. In 1976, the European Space Agency joined the program and provided telescope s solar
panels in order to facilitate the implementation of scientific operations. In 1986, because the design of
the shuttle s sold rocket boosters made a mistake and led to the Space Shuttle Challenger and its crew
suffered a heavy blow. Through the continuous research of scientists, in April 1990, the Hubble Space
Telescope launched for the fist time and it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These challenges helped NASA and the European Space Agency to create a historical legend. In 1993,
astronauts installed COSTAR in order to restored Hubble s vision and meet the designer s
expectations. Then, they also updated some of the components such as ESA provided solar arrays and
associated control electronics ( HubbleSite , 2012, para. 7 ). By updating component, Hubble
contained a extensive data to measure the universe, and astronomers used this telescope to do more in
depth research. In 1997, with the constant innovation of Hubble Space Telescope, Servicing Mission 2
occurred, and it improved Hubble s spectroscopic capabilities with the insertion of the Space
Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) ( HubbleSite , 2012, para. 8). In addition, they also created
Near Infrared Camera and Multi Object Spectrometer (NICMOS), it showed Hubble s view of the
universe to a new spectral regime those wavelengths slightly longer than visual light ( HubbleSite ,
2012, para. 8). In 2009, astronauts made the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) was that the most
sensitive ultraviolet spectrograph ever built for Hubble ( HubbleSite , 2012, para.

  • 2. Religious Beliefs Of The Catholic Church The Catholic Church s current pope, Pope Francis, once said, A good Catholic meddles in politics, offering the best of himself, so that those who govern can govern. But what is the best that we can offer to those who govern? Prayer! (Pope Francis, 2013). Catholics are approximately half of the number of Christians, numbering more than one billion members. This number makes it one of the largest religions in the world. In 2003, the Catholic population in the United States was 63.4 million people (Roman Catholic Church, 2017). The Catholic Church s basic beliefs influence their demographics, party affiliation, stances on different political issues, and involvement in American politics. I attended a service at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At this service, politics were not directly mentioned, but Father Darin Schmidt said a few interesting words. In a message to the congregation he said, love unconditionally, without limits. He also said, peace, liberty, and justice for all. One might recognize liberty and justice for all from our nation s Pledge of Allegiance, and this quote displays a sense of patriotism in the church. These quotes are helpful in understanding the Catholic Church s ideologies. During prayer, they mentioned a few current issues including support for the military, the Las Vegas shooting, refugees, and victims of natural disasters. Besides these few observations, the service did not express any straightforward political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the year 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, a pharmacist by the name of John Pemberton was trying to create a type of medical syrup with the purpose of help those with fatigue, anxiety, and oral illnesses. Along with his assistant they added ice to the mixture and deemed the concoction tasty enough for the public. With the growing demand the assistant unknowingly added carbonated water to the medication and it was then that the drink known around the world as Coca Cola was made. In modern times the drink is consumed by an estimated one billion individuals a day. Even though many think that it was an overnight success in reality Pemberton reportedly spent $74 dollars trying to promote the beverage in its initial days but only managed to sell $50. As the company went on to become the dominant brand within the realms of soft drinks Coca Cola eventually developed a vision which involved achieving and maintaining a state of quality and growth. The company prioritized the people that they are associated with be that the consumers or employees and set out to make their environment a great place to work. The company not only holds concerns for its employees but also the planet as a whole as they consistently take part in helping any community that they happen to be associated with by creating numerous charities and funds in order to benefit those in need. ... A Comparison Between Chinese Etiquette and the Western... 中西方礼仪文化差异 生活百科 With China entry the WTO and will hold the Olympic games in 2008, the relationship between China and Western in politics, economy, culture will become more and more close. It is undoubtedly that the etiquette will play an important role in this process. To the definition of etiquette, China and Western have a different understanding. As Chinese thinks that the etiquette is the common behavior standards that all the members must obey, and its purpose is to keep the normal living order of the society. Faculty are addressed as Professor (abbreviated as Prof. ).In an informal situation, westerners will introduce each other by first name, without titles, and occasionally by just the last name. If you are introduced to somebody by first name, you can address him or her by first name the next time you meet. The only exception would be for someone who holds an important position, such as the university president or provost. Unless they tell you otherwise, faculty should be addressed using their title and last name (e.g., Professor Smith ). When in doubt, use the formal manner of address, since it is better to err on the side of formality. It is also appropriate to ask how they prefer to be addressed. Children should always address adults in the formal fashion, using their title and last name. Another difference is about the form of addressing. From the viewpoint of sociolinguistics, forms of addressing can serve as an indication of the relationship of power and solidarity in the society. In calling their superiors or elders, the Chinese are accustomed to the nonreciprocal or asymmetrical addressing, in other words. They use title +surname to address their superior or elders rather than call them surnames, while the superior or elders call the addressers their names. Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. • 10. The Heroic Stand Of Crossing Into Womanhood Jasmine Ware July 26, 2016 Research Essay A Bold Act of Love: The Heroic Stand of Crossing into Womanhood In Henrik Ibsen s play A Doll House he uses an individual female, Nora Helmer, as being the most predominant character who has been controlled most of her life by her father and husband. Nora s husband, Torvald Helmer, is seen to be an overprotected husband that leads Nora to believe she is a precious little doll in obeying his commands. During the play Ibsen uses another character, Nils Krogstad, who soon begins to become a part of Nora and Torvald s marriage. Mr. Krogstad is a bank clerk that was under the management of Torvald, but later in the story he is threatened to lose his job. In the play, Nora and Krogstad become partners ... Nora s relationship with her father and Torvald has shaped her into the woman she is posing to be. She is under a mutual control being a shadow of what they want her to be. Many people see Nora as being the weakest link in this poem, considering her lack of ability to voice her opinion. Throughout the play, Torvald constantly uses little childish names when addressing Nora perhaps when he says Is that my little lark twittering out there? (Ibsen 1190). Nora s mindset clearly begins to overlook the fact that Torvald may be picking at her in a way. Torvald is also seen to be picking at Nora for eating macaroons when he makes the statement Surely my sweet tooth hasn t been running riot in town today, has she? (Ibsen 1192). This clearly states that Torvald s opinion of macaroons is invalid for Nora, because he would not want her to become fat in possibly ruining his image. Nora s childhood is the birth of all future relationships that grants control, which makes Nora feel as if she has no power in being an independent woman. Nora is seen as a little precious doll who is a valuable possession of her father and husband. Leadership is the art of directing individuals and workers towards a proverbial point C in the distance. The success of reaching the destination is highly contingent upon the ability of leadership to communicate. As Muslims, we need to look no further than the Quran. We are shown examples of effective communication by Prophets and shown conviction of those who follow the divine message. However, a great example of such communication hinges on the success demonstrated by an insect as tiny as 1 millimeter in size; the ant. The ability of the leadership to clearly communicate these objectives can mean the difference between a successful organization and one that remains stagnant. However this can only be conveyed effectively if the given mission and vision are clear. An ambiguous mission and vision set leadership portrays several qualities of inadequate leadership; 1) lack of clarity of the end goal causes leadership and management to head in any direction they see fit. Often times the chosen direction chosen by one leader of an organization will be contradictory to direction of other leaders causing inefficiency and internal strife in the organization. In the event leadership is turned over, the lack of clarity is magnified, as the direction is often arbitrarily changed per the whim and desires of the new leadership. This type of direction shift is prevalent in religious establishments and organizations which elect members from the constituency. Leaders are put in place without proper understanding of the direction or goals. This concoction of leaders changes direction and scope with ease and regardless of the consequences. As a result, lack of motivation of the more experienced can ensue. To further complicate management, many of these disgruntled will choose to simply leave the organization. A thesis to take away from the text is that humans are travellers at heart. When humankind is presented with a challenge, they are not prone to shying away; furthermore, once humans have started a journey they are admirably resilient to quitting, and finally; humans are constantly searching to experience new sights and sounds. Because of these traits, it is evident why humans are often found on journeys. As Hitt is a traveler at heart, he will not allow the dogs, mere mortals, to stop him from continuing his pilgrimage. Also, humans often encounter physically draining problems like Bill Bryson experiences while hiking the Appalachian Trail in A Walk in the Woods: It was hell. First days on hiking trips always are. Another type of challenge, oftentimes the most difficult to deal with is the emotional war the journey unleashes on the traveler. For Bryson, this comes from how difficult it is to see the progress that is being made while hiking through the mountains: The elusive summit continually retreats by whatever distance you press forward, so that each time the canopy parts enough to give a view you are dismayed to see that the topmost trees are as remote, as unattainable, as before ... To put it more precisely, the juvenile justice system is traditionally different from the adult justice system. However, today, the youth tends to commit serious crimes, which raise the public criticism in relation to the modern juvenile justice system because the punishment of juveniles is considered by average citizens irrelevant to the crime they commit. In such a case, violent crimes committed by juveniles provoke a particularly severe criticism of the modern juvenile justice system. However, the public is often unaware of the substantial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What is meant here is the fact that, unlike adult offenders, juveniles have larger options in this regard. At this point, it is possible to refer to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974 (JJDPA), which resulted in dramatic changes mandating the removal of juveniles from adult jails and police lock ups, requiring a parallel system of juvenile detention centers for those who needed to be held securely, and forbidding the secure confinement of status offenders and children in need of supervision (Hayward, 2004). In such a way, the practice of using juvenile detention centers was rejected and replaced by other programs, which introduced less restrictive measures on the freedom of juvenile offenders and put them into less strict conditions. In this respect, it is possible to distinguish three major pre adjudication programs juvenile offenders may be involved in, including shelters, holdover programs, and home detention. First, shelters are widely used and involve the community assistance to juvenile offenders detention. In terms of this program, some communities have non secure, temporary residential facilities intended for children removed from their homes in the initial stages of child protective services investigations or for children who may be picked up by police as status offenders (Reiman, 2006). As for holdover programs, they also aim at securing the position of juveniles. Holdover program requires a room (this might be located in a police station or sheriff s department, or some other public facility) and someone (either a volunteer or part time employee) who can provide continuous supervision of a youth for a few hours or overnight pending transportation (Reiman, 2006). The first reason is that it makes financial sense in the short term. They think it is financially wise in some cases to walk away from your mortgage. The second reason is that banks account for this in their financial plans. So if banks account for people walking away from their loans this somehow makes it ok to do that? • 18. Necklace Quotes In The Necklace Are you willing to sacrifice your life for material things? In The Necklace by Guy De Maupassant, a woman named Mathilde puts a necklace above everything, and ends up losing it all. The theme of The Necklace is to always focus on what you have more than what you want. Mathilde was too focused on looking good and having fancy things to appreciate what she had. This leads to her losing a precious diamond necklace that she borrowed from a friend. Mathilde works for 10 long years to pay off the necklace. She loses what little she had in order to pay for it, and ends up blaming her friend for all of her hardship she and her husband had to endure. Mathilde s love for material things can be seen in a quote as follows, She grieved over the shabbiness of her apartment, the dinginess of the walls, the worn out appearance of the chairs, the ugliness of the draperies. All of these things, which another woman of her class would not even had noticed, gnawed at her and made her furious. (Guy De Maupassant). As you can see in the quote, Mathilde was so concerned with how things looked that she couldn t appreciate what she had; such as a home, food, or a husband who loves her. Relating to the less diversity that uniforms create in schools, uniforms can decrease the formation of cliques and gangs. Little is known about the role of AVP, but it has been found that OT is released during positive social interactions and inhibited during defensive behaviors such as fighting. From a philosophical standpoint, the correlation between higher OT receptor density and monogamy is alarming. This pattern has shown consistent in other mammals. Results concerning humans are not yet available. One would assume that monogamy is a personal life choice, neuroscience suggests that there may be more to the story. College Tuition Should Be Free Essay College Tuition Should Be Free For All Students College tuition should be free because even with a good degree it is hard for students to overcome the crippling debt of college tuition. High tuition prices are also an obstacle that keeps out those without access to affordable education, even though they may be great candidates who may do well in college and head their field in the future. The current system displays several flaws. The government should put the money slotted for financial aid into the state s education budget so that tuition can be free and to create a better and more fruitful learning environment. College debt in the U.S. has risen to just around 1.2 trillion dollars and rises about $2,726 every second (Berman). These numbers are astronomical, and to put them in perspective, the to tal debt of the United States of America is just under 20 trillion. • 36. Multiple Ideas In The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald While writing The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald had many inspirations that helped him form what is considered the great American novel. Fitzgerald portrays multiple ideas throughout the story that closely relate to events in his own life in the early 1900s. He wanted his book to be different. He wanted to create something greater, with this work. The book is considered to be written closely to his own experiences, and could have been Nick Carraway or Jay Gatsby himself. When Fitzgerald first wrote Gatsby in the 1920s, it was not an instant sensation. Although all the copies from the first run of 20,870 sold, many copies from the second run languished in a warehouse until Fitzgerald s death in 1940 at the age of 44 (Lombardi). Ironically Fitzgerald based many different ideas in his novel, to events that were happening in his own life. The book Careless People expresses facts of the Hall Mills murders, and how closely related it was to the secret love between Daisy and Gatsby, and Tom and Myrtle Wilson. It is described that an adulterous couple, Edward Hall and Eleanor Mills, who were both married to other people, were found dead side by side on rural property; a popular spot for couples. It was said Mills was sadistically mutilated (Churchwood). It was also said that Halls spouse was rather wealthy and used her money to eliminate the case. Power Of Women In The Canterbury Tales Many medieval texts seem to focus on depicting men and their adventures fighting evil, they nonetheless have quite a bit to say about women exerting power in these texts. The 2 medieval works that portrays women exerting power is, The Canterbury tales: the wife of bath s tale prologue and The Canterbury tales: the Miller s prologue and tale , both written by Geoffrey Chaucer. The women in these texts portray their power through sexuality. This is one of the abilities that women can offer to have maximum power. Women are usually shown as an impotent object that can only bare children and are expected to be mothers. Women typically are not seen as warriors or heroes, because of the antifeminist views by men back in the medieval texts.
