Indications For Liver Biopsy And Histological Assessment...
INDICATIONS FOR LIVER BIOPSY
Liver biopsy and histological assessment of the liver has now taken on an important role in clinical
management. Therefore liver biopsy currently has two major roles:
(A) Diagnostic purposes: Liver biopsy is helpful in diagnosis of many forms of liver disease such as
acute and chronic hepatitis (Wilson disease, alpha 1 antitrypsin disease, glycogen storage diseases,
AIH, NiemannPick disease and others), cholestatic disorders, fatty liver disease, vascular diseases,
infiltrative or storage diseases, some infectious diseases, and other disorders that may be associated
with characteristic histological abnormalities. It also plays a role in the diagnosis of patients with
abnormal liver tests of unknown etiology (Czaja et al., 2007). (B) Liver biopsy in the assessment of
known liver disease: Liver histology is also commonly used in disease monitoring of patients with
AIH. First, the portal based plasma cell infiltrate may predict relapse and second, liver biopsy is often
obtained prior to steroid dose reduction and/or discontinuation of immunosuppressive therapy
(Rockey et al., 2009). 1 Neonatal Cholestasis Some forms of neonatal cholestasis can be identified
biochemically and genetically, but others require LB.
Biliary atresia (BA): Typically neonates with BA have acholic stools, firm livers, and abnormal values
for biochemical markers of hepatobiliary injury. Histopathologic evaluation permits diagnosis of BA
in 96% of adequate LB

I Sit Before You A Self Proclaimed Sustainablatarian
I sit before you a self proclaimed Sustainablatarian. I ve come through a long list of food and lifestyle
choices and here is where I am today.
Many years ago, I heard someone say be true to yourself so I quit eating meat. I had wanted to for a
while, but it s hard to go against the grain; to do other than what our culture tells us is normal . When I
was growing up the hippies from the 60 s were still weirdo s so that s what I learned was the definition
of weird. Since those weird hippies were vegetarians I didn t want to be that. But sometimes it only
takes finally listening to something we ve heard a million times.
My choice was partially a dietary choice. I told myself that if I didn t eat the meat I would have to
supplement my diet was something and hopefully it would be healthier. And partially it was an ethical
choice. I had read Michael Pollen s article Power Steer among other things and knew about how
animals are treated and believe it to be wrong. I don t object to animals dying because that s part of the
cycle of life. Something has to die so the something else can live. I used to say I feel just as guilty
about the broccoli dying as the cow dying. I don t actually feel very guilty about either because I
believe it s the way Mother Nature set up our system.
Over time the dietary choice has melded with the ethical choice. It s healthier for me to eat food that
was raised healthfully. I m still choosing not to eat unhealthy foods and replacing

A Good Deed Is Done, Performed, Or Accomplished Essay
A deed is something that is done, performed, or accomplished. A good deed is something that is
accomplished aswell, but involves helping, improving lives, and/or making a positive lasting
impression in the community. There are millions of good deeds I couldve done for this project. I
couldve helped at a homeless shelter, volunteer for big brothers/big sisters, I couldve even volunteered
at an animal shelter. For my good deed I decided to donate blood. It was an extremely life changing
experience that I would love to share with you. Ill be honest, I wasnt extremely ecstatic about the idea
of getting a pint of blood taken from me in the middle of a school day. Throughout the day I tried to
pace myself and remain calm. Now I m pretty good at relaxing, but all I ever knew about being
relaxed flew out of the window as soon as I stepped foot into the gym area. I grabbed a pamphlet and
a folder labeled American Red Cross in big, bold letters. I sat down and read all of the information
they emphasize in the folder. The first few pages were labeled with how I help and what I m doing and
I skimmed over those as Id already known how deep in I was. When the time came a nurse let me to a
little room where she had to take my blood sugar and heartbeat to make sure I was capable of donating
today. At first, I wasnt. She had informed me my heartbeat was through the roof and asked if I was
nervous. Duh! Id thought. She let me sit and relax for about 5 10 minutes before coming

Demand And Supply Of Labor
The demand and supply of labor is determined by the labor market. There are two players in the labor
market: the workers and the firms. All workers will supply their labor to firms in exchange for wages
paid by the firms to produce manufactured Items. The need for laborers is comprised of the firms need
to produce any given number of products to supply the consumers demand. Because of this, the labor
market directly affects supply, demand, and the price of manufactured items. Of the three resources of
production (land, labor, capital), the labor segment is the most important. Specifically, labor Unions

Industrial capitalism was leading the way and did not share the same ideology and vision of the labor
movement. According to the heritage.org, labor unions today harm the economy because they function
as labor cartels. Labor cartels restrict the number of workers allotted in a company or industry
resulting in an increase in wages for the union workers. Just as the Organization of Petroleum
Exporting Countries (OPEC) attempts to cut the supply of oil to raise its price, companies pass on
those higher wages that have to be paid to the union members to consumers through higher prices, and
often earn lower profits, as reported by James Sherk, What Unions Do: How Labor Unions Affect Jobs
and the Economy. Companies today have less power to increase prices on consumers without going
out of business. Labor unions are also effective at taxing company investments through the negotiation
of higher wages for their members causing a decrease in profits. Companies that are unionized,
counter the negotiations through reduced investments, thus making the companies less competitive in
the market. The graph below provided by heritage.org, displays union vs. non union manufacturing
employment trends. Because of this, job opportunities are reduced and the economy suffers. (1)
Research has shown that unions make for a slower economic recovery. Over the long run, business
investment is reduced due to labor cartels

Essay snow faliing on cedars racism
In a community of five thousand damp souls (Guterson 5) as described by David Guterson in his
novel, Snow Falling on Cedars. A community that concentrated a variety of ethnicity, among them
was both Whites and Japanese. As a result of the racial differences, racism has came into existences
and have impacted the life of both children and adult in that isolated island called San Piedro. It is
responsible for the internment of Kabuo, Hatsue, and their families, the breakup of Hatsue and
Ishmael, Kabuo s loss of his land, and perhaps for his indictment for murder.
Before the war years, Kabuo s father, Zenhichi made an illegal agreement with the victim s father,

As because of the coroner s inaccurate judgement, it had worsened Kabuo situation in the trail. Now
that all the evidences had turned against Kabuo, it has made others to focus mainly on Kabuo, and
think that he is behind of all this. Later on, abroad Kabuo s ship Art Moran n the mooring rope and
fishing gaff with the victim s blood on it. With all those evidences it would have proven Kabuo to be
the murderer, but new evidences came into existences to overturn the entire situation and twisted the
case as of being an accident rather than a first degree murder case. If it wasn t for prejudice this trail
would never has gone so far or would never had happened in the first place.
The internment of Kabuo, Hatsue and the rest of their family are mainly because the U.S governments
are being racist toward Japanese. They government did not trust the Japanese because they feared that
among them were spies, even thou they swore to be loyalty to the U.S. Some of them even stand up to
fight for the U.S against their home country to demonstrated their loyalty, because they believed that
they are America and no longer consider as Japanese. But the U.S took no consideration on whether
they are loyal or not and placed them into internment camp for safety purpose. I believed that it s not
necessary to have internment camps, it is basically useless and a waste of money and time, because if
the Japanese were to have spies, they wouldn t be that

The Negative Impact Of Women In Modern Civilization
Civilization affected various groups such as women in many diverse ways that had caused a negative
impact on civilization. Women in ancient civilization industrialized negatively due to the lack of
respect women had gotten from men. The thought women had gotten from the males was that their
only purpose in life was to be the mother; only seen, not heard for both women and children. To show
that women and their children had no freedom, independence, and were considered a property of the
male: 210. If a woman should die, they shall kill his daughter ( FROM The Code of Hammurabi 23).
By men treating women as if they had no freedom, independence, and were the property of the men
they negatively influence the development of civilization for women by making it more difficult for
their civilization to expand. Women were the property of the men since men thought women were
incompetent of doing anything on their own. While analyzing The Code of Hammurabi, nearby were
many references that women might not be anybody without a man in their lives. Nonetheless, referring
to women as being the property of the men, women might not get recognized until doing the
following: 128. If a man marries a wife but does not draw up a formal contract for her, she is not a
wife. ( FROM The Code of Hammurabi 20). Women did not even have a choice when getting married
or whom they determined to marry. Women in civilization did not have a choice at all of what they
might do, who they are going to

players in the grocery industry. They use grocery offerings to drive traffic to their higher profit margin
retail items. With its operations efficiency, Walmart, the largest grocery retailer has been able to offer
significant price drops. This also forces other grocery stores to drop prices which keeps the profit
margin thin. Even with all the advantages of operational efficiency and economies of scale, Walmart s
share in grocery sales was down at 51% in 2011.
Industry Analysis:
Trader Joe s occupies a niche position in the grocery market by providing natural, organic and eclectic

Roman Slaves
The ends aimed at in building Negro cabins should be: first, the health and comfort of the occupants;
second the convenience of nursing, surveillance, discipline, and the supply of food and water; and
thirdly, economy of construction...their houses should be provided with large glass windows. Light

Even though the conditions appear favorable, these instructions are not to be mistaken for kindness.
Seeing that the average cost of a slave in the American South in 1850 was equivalent to $40,000 in
today s dollars, slaves were an economic investment for the master. Keeping them well kept was
necessary so their labor will pay their cost off while eventually turning into profit.

First, there needs to be distinguished whether Ancient Rome, Nineteenth Century American South,

a society with slaves is A society which slavery exists but slavery is not the dominant labor system.
Systems have family labor, a system of the indentured servitude, systems of wage labor to compete
with the slavery. Slavery is just one of the many forms of labor. However, slave societies on the other

American South was a slave society while Ancient Rome and contemporary Dubai can be categorized
as societies with slaves. The American South relied nearly solely on race based labor for plantations
and this subordinate relationship further perpetuated post emancipation with black codes and Jim
Crow laws. However, while slavery was persistent in Ancient Rome, it did not affect other social

Titus Andronicus Analysis
Titus Andronicus is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. Titus Andronicus is Shakespeare s first
tragedy. The play is considered by critics and fans alike to be Shakespeare s most distasteful work that
features excessive violence and spectacle. Julie Taymor s film adaption explores the corruption of
violence as she creates many visual parallels to our modern culture of entertaining violence, paying
close attention to the plays relish of spectacle. Both Shakespeare and Taymor treat the spectacle and
excess of the play in their own way which highlights small differences between the two texts.
A spectacle can be defined as a visually striking performance or display . As Taymor s version is an
adaption, she was able to experiment with the excessive nature of the play and its spectacle. She
opened the film with a cold open showing a young boy playing with toy soldiers, violently smashing
them together and spraying ketchup all over them to create blood. His own fantasy game becomes a
reality when an explosion outside the kitchen window frightens him under a table from which he is
rescued just before it explodes. He is then transported to an area and the audience cheers, but it feels
artificial just like the opening scene of Shakespeare s play. This layering of spectacle occurs
throughout the film, because it has a combination of modern pop culture and ancient Roman designs
to give the impression that the Roman Empire survived into the modern era as Roger Ebert writes in

Joint Pain Research Paper
7 out of 10 people are considered to be a victim of joint pain in some way or the other. It can be
caused by a variety of reasons ranging from a simple hit or jolt in the knee cap to a major accident or
disease. There are joints which connect the leg and support the movement and walking and any sort of
damage caused to this joint can trigger pain and disability. Some of the diseases which can trigger the

Literary Analysis Of The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall ...
Rachell Burns
English 1302 Section 155
October 26, 2015
Symbolism in Literature Writers often use a myriad of different literary techniques to express different
ideas to those who read their work. One of the most common tools authors utilize would be the use of
symbols to portray an abstract meaning different from the literal interpretation of the text. This
element of a story helps connect an object or idea with the greater meaning within a story through
literary analysis. This helps make the moral of the story more meaningful to the specific reader. In The
Jilting of Granny Weatherall, A Jury of Her Peers, and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings,
Katherine Porter, Susan Glaspell, and Gabriel Marquez use one or more predominant symbols to
enforce the integrity of the message they are trying to convey to their readers. One example of strong
symbolism is in The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, by Katherine Porter when the author uses the color
blue as a way to connect the present with different phases in the life of Granny Weatherall, the main
character who comes to accept the inevitability of her own death. The color is first used to describe
the, white stone china jars with blue whirligigs and words painted on them: coffee, tea, sugar, ginger,
cinnamon, allspice, (Porter) in the neatly kept home of her youth. The author seems to use the color to
bring to life a part of Granny s life when she was young, energetic, and kept a well organized house.

Historical Accuracy of Black Hawk Down
Nobody asks to be a hero; it just sometimes turns out that way, SSGT Matt Eversmann said this while
explaining to a solider the hardship of trying to explain to civilians the duties of a soldier. There have
been many battles fought, and many have been lost. Black Hawk Down is an adaptation of the failed
attempt to capture Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid during the Battle of Mogadishu. It started
on March 2001 and it was released January 18, 2002. During the real operation there was a dramatic
change between it being a simple capture operation to it being a rescue mission that is shown in the
movie. Black Hawk Down is historically accurate because the chronological sequence of the operation
and rescue mission are correct.
In early 1990 Somalia was going through a civil war. Their dictator Mohammed Farrah had order the
closer of all food transportation that entered the country. He`s goal was to kill his own people by
starving them to death. About 300,000 civilians had died of hunger. In response, the united States send
troops to Somalia to capture Mohammed Farrah., the self proclaimed president of Somalia. They soon
found out that the best strategic was to capture Omar Salad Elmi and Abdi Hassan Awale Queybdiid,

A Constructivist approach according to Wenglisnky, H.,(2005) will use technology to help a student
better learn and understand a given topic, using visual aids, programs etc. While a didactic will do the
complete opposite. It will combine the larger picture of a scenario, going into advanced and more
complicated problems that the student can understand.
Aside from the teaching methods used in a technology based education system. There is always
constructive ways to use technology as well as unconstructive ways. In a classroom environment a
teacher may ask students to do research on a given topic, while setting standards of plagiarism and
showing students how to complete research at an early age. It can also be beneficial for students to
familiarize themselves with commonly used programs and software used in today s work industry,
such as Microsoft word and power point. It can give the student the ease and facility to find the
resources needed at his fingertips.
At the same time it can be very un constructive for a student if he or she uses technology in a
classroom for entertainment and media. While most schools and universities do a very good job in
filtering their systems so that students do not access these websites, student always find a way to get to

The Great Blue Heron Adventure
The range of boating adventures I ve experienced in the 1000 Islands is considerable. I recall one
outing that continues to stand out, and I revisit it now as I fondly remember the captain of that
occasion, William E. Browning III, who passed away in 2013. A small contingent of river rats
including Browning and myself were enjoying an evening libation at the St James Hotel Saloon when
Bill said, Tad, I have a group of bird watchers coming from Watertown tomorrow to see what will
soon be the Ironsides Bird Sanctuary. I own this island and I m going to gift it to the Nature
Conservancy. Will you row my guests to shore in your skiff, Bobby, if I come get you in the morning?
Libation being the enemy of reason, I said, Yes. At ten the next morning on August 31, 1965 up the

along with him an entourage of bird watchers, who were preoccupied leafing through their Audubon
manuals and polishing the lenses of their binoculars. Bill s 42 foot Matthews cruiser was a classic of
that wooden cruiser period sporting a covered aft deck and a roomy main salon where the helm was
located. In the bow was a well appointed galley, a head, a table for dining or sleeping, and more bunks
further forward. His nephew, Marc Aylesworth, had joined the party and he hooked the towrope to
Bobby, and off we motored down the main channel six miles to Ironsides Island. This island marks the

A Report On The Attack Automation Strategy
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~sunshine/publications/ccr.pdf
1a) An DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) Attack consists of several phases firstly the attacker
recruits multiple agent machines which will be later on infected with the attack code and further
exploited. The infected machines can be used to further recruit new agents. We can outline those
phases as Recruit, Exploit, Infect and Use.
ATTACK AUTOMATION STRATEGY
The attack automation strategy stands for how much of the DDoS attack does an attacker want to
make automatic and how much to leave for manual control. The strategy depends on the degree of
automation of the phases of the attack. There are three general automation degrees Manual, Automated
and Semi Automated which are explained as follows:
o Manual
In that case, the hacker manually recruits machines by scanning remote ones for vulnerabilities, breaks
their security mechanisms, installs the prepared attack code and then directs the attack. This type of a
DDoS Attack has become really outdated since lately all the recruitment phase has been automated.
Weak design consideration in terms of functionality and productivity.
o Semi Automated
In the Semi Automated DDoS attacks the DDoS network is made of a handler and an agent machine.
There is automation present for the Recruit, Exploit and Infect phases. Through the communication
between the handler and the agent, the attacker specifies the attack type, the onset, the duration and
the victims ID. The

Net Neutrality: There has been a recent push by the government to limit the freedom of the internet

Fraud Orchestrated By Three Senior Executives Of Fair...
SUMMARY OF KEY FACTS.
This case involved a fraud orchestrated by three senior executives of Fair Finance Company (Fair)
which had its headquarters at Akron Ohio. This fraud occurred from at least 2005 through November
2009 the defendants involved were the three senior executives Timothy S. Durham, Chief Executive
Officer, James F. Cochran, Chairman, and Rick D. Snow, Chief Financial Officer. These executives
defrauded their investors by raising approximately $230 million from at least 5,200 investors through
the sale of investment certificates by making materially false and misleading misrepresentations and
omissions concerning, among other and returns, and the use of investor proceeds to purchase
discounted consumer receivables. (SEC litigation release 2012)
In 2002, two of the defendants Durham and Cochran acquired Fair finance company a successful
finance company that earned profits by using proceeds from investors to purchase discounted
consumer receivables. After the acquisition of Fair by the defendants, they changed the business
model by using a steadily increased amount of investor s proceeds to finance the unprofitable and
failing business controlled by the Durham and Cochran under the disguise of loans related party
transaction or advances, to make interest payment to investors for the benefits of themselves, their
families and friends. (SEC litigation release 2012)
Fair Holdings accountants soon began questioning its financial statements, raising numerous

Bowel Cancer Prevention
Prevention of Bowel Cancer
Introduction
The bowel is a hollow tube within the digestive system composed of the small bowel (small intestine)
and large bowel (colon and rectum). Bowel cancer generally affects the large bowel, which absorbs
water from digested food and then produces waste (Cancer research UK, 2014). Bowel cancer, also
known as colorectal cancer, develops from uncontrollable cell division of polyps, pre cancerous
growth cells, which cause potential harm within the bowel (Bowel cancer UK, 2016). Bowel cancer is
treatable and curable if diagnosed early; nevertheless, by simply adopting healthier changes to your
lifestyle, two thirds of cases could be prevented (Cancer research UK, 2010).

The recommended weekly amount of cooked red meat (beef, lamb and pork) is 500 grams, though it is
advised that red meat and processed meat (bacon, ham and salami) is replaced with healthier
alternatives such as fish, poultry, soya and quorn. (Beating bowel cancer, 2016).
Conclusion
Based on hereditary, lifestyle and dietary factors discussed, bowel cancer can be prevented by taking
these preventative measures into strict consideration. Ultimately, living a healthy lifestyle will lead
towards a lower risk of this unwanted disease, likewise, bad lifestyle choices will significantly
increase the risk. Hence, taking precautions and adjusting lifestyle choices in a positive manner will
not only decrease the possibility of developing bowel cancer but consequently will improve the
quality of life, which is beneficial in the long

Breast Cancer Screening
An analysis of the effectiveness of population based screening for breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the leading cause of death due to cancer in women, with statistics from the USA
showing that one in eight women will develop the disease.1 Studies in the UK show that 90% of
women diagnosed in the early stages survive the disease, while this figure is only 15% if diagnosed at
a later stage illustrating the importance of an effective screening programme to reduce mortality.2 In
the following essay I will review various randomised control studies and cohort studies in order to
establish how nationwide screening programmes best reduce mortality, looking at the targeted sector
of the population and the methods in practice. I will also address ... Show more content on

With the majority of tumours being slow growing it has been established from various studies that
biennial screening is the most effective time frame. This is due to the identification of slow growing
tumours at an early enough stage for recovery and at the same time ensures a reduced rate of false
positives compared to annual mammograms.5 In addition, since the proportion of DCIS is highest in
younger women, screen detection of DCIS that may not be clinically significant could be considered a
further harm. 5 Therefore it is the woman s prerogative whether the risk of cancer outweighs the
possibility of coming into contact with the aforementioned harms.
With the implementation of mammograms as a population based screening program the targeted
population must be scrutinised, because although it is common practice for women over 40 to be
covered by health insurance for mammograms there are increasing numbers of women below that age
with breast cancer.

Maze Runner Motivation
How would you react if you woke up in a dark box, surrounded by strangers, and you couldn t
remember anything about your life before that moment? James Dashner writes his book, The Maze
Runner, about a boy who finds himself in that position and how he reacts and get along with others.
James got a lot of his inspiration from other stories and movies he read or saw growing up (Veronica).
He took all the inspiration he had and he turned it into a thriller story that keeps the reader engaged
throughout the whole story. Whether he meant to or not, his story has an underlying theme to not give
up, to keep trying until you succeed. The story starts off with the main character, Thomas, waking up

DISCUSSION
The objective of this study is to examine the differences between the vegan and omnivore diet and to
study the relationship of these diets to body composition, blood lipids, and the serum hormones
vitamin D and parathyroid hormone. As seen previously, those eating an omnivore diet consumed
significantly more dietary protein than those consuming a vegan diet (2; 3). The values we observed
for dietary protein in both the vegan and the omnivore groups were similar to those seen by Hadded et
al. (3) and Janelle and Barr (2). The women in our study eating an omnivore diet exceeded the RDA
for protein. In contrast to other studies of vegetarians and vegans, our ... Show more content on

We found no significant difference between the two diet groups in the serum vitamin D levels. A study
of vegan women in Finland found vegans to be deficient in vitamin D intake without supplements or
adequate sunlight exposure through vacations in sunny locations (12). The vegan women in our study
had adequate serum vitamin D levels, which may be the result of 1) incorporating enough vitamin D
in their diets possibly using fortified foods and supplements; 2) they were exposed to adequate
sunlight or 3) a combination of both.
Although reviews of the vegetarian diet (5; 13) warn that deficiencies in several micronutrients are
possible, the only marginal nutrient we found in the vegan group is calcium intake. There are several
possible reasons for this difference. Vegans may be more health conscious, physically more active,
and have a greater understanding of the role of nutrition in general health. As a result, they may also
consume more supplements. Another contributing factor may be the recent increase in commercially
available foods fortified with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that may lead to higher levels of
intake when whole diets are examined. These results may be somewhat biased compared to the
general population because we studied young adult college women primarily. Another possible
confounding factor is the

The Frog King Symbolism
The Frog King has a lot of symbolism and lessons? Written within it. One of the big things I believe
this story was written for was to show the young girls reading it that arranged marriage wasn t that
bad. At first the girl is detested by the frog, but is still forced to honor her promise by her father. She
still despises the frog until she either kisses him or is thrown against the wall, depending on the
version, and changes into a handsome prince. This just goes to show forced marriages can still turn out
good and it isn t as bad as it first seems. I also believe the gold ball could further symbolize arranged
marriage. Gold is often a color that is associated with wealth and the girl looses her favorite toy which
is the golden ball. I believe in some situations this could show how her family lost their wealth and is
marrying the daughter off to a frog king to get it back. Similar to how the frog retrieves her golden
ball, he returns the wealth to her/ her family. The gold ball could also symbolize a couple other things.
Gold is used to make jewelry and other valuable things, but nots in it raw form. The young immature
princess hasn t been shaped into a person yet, similar to the unshaped gold ball. She is without her
own morals or ideas, she promises to the frog she will let him sleep with her and is more than willing
to break this promise if not for the stern words of her parents to honor her word. Many fairy tales
involve this theme of a young/beautiful

Summary Of The Hitchhiking Game
In the story of The Hitchhiking Game , we learn that a couple of a man and woman go on vacation
together. They decided to play game with each other known as the hitchhiking game. To be completely
fair, the game itself can be fun or dangerous depending how far you take the game. Within the story,
man and woman are competing against each other to see whose will is stronger than the other. We see
power encounters throughout the whole story and leave us to wonder who the winner of the game is
either the man or the woman. From what we gather in the beginning of the story, the man loves the
woman because of her innocence. The man enjoyed her moments of shyness because it was a precious
thing to him but this slowly changes when they start playing the game. As we see their time at dinner,
the man notices the more the girl withdrew from him psychically, the more he longed for her
physically. The man s point of view of the woman changes from emotional to just physical. It is like
the man went back to his caveman or animalistic instincts in the way he desires the woman. The man
shows that he is the hunter and the woman is his prey, and the pursuit is very excitable. There are
some men that love the pursuit and after they claimed their prize, it does not excite them like it once
had because it does not have the same thrill. He basically wants to dominate the woman and show her
that he is in control, and has power over her. All males have experienced this feeling over someone

Types Of Speech Databases
IV. Speech Databases Once the features used for emotion detection are selected, the feature vector for
a number of training data samples should be obtained. Consequently, the next important phase of
building the SER system is to select the database. Prior to selecting the database, it is vital to
understand the different kinds of databases available with speech percepts [4]. Datasets for speech
signals that can be used for emotion detection should be tagged with a text label that denotes the
category of emotion expressed in the speech. Based on the environment used for data collection, the
databases can belong to one of the following categories. 1. A simulated dataset in one in which actors

The volunteers belonged to different genders and cultures and spoke different languages. The
emotions recorded in this dataset belong to six categories, namely: Anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness
and surprise. V. Speech Emotion Detection Algorithms The main function of the emotion detection
system is to use all the collected data and its features to identify the emotion expressed in it. To
perform this a classifier algorithm can be used to create a classification model. There are several
options of classification algorithms that can be used for this purpose. Some of the top choices of
algorithm based on research and existing systems include Bayes classifier, Support Vector Machines
(SVM), Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), K nearest neighbors (KNN), Hidden Markov Models
(HMM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Bayes classifier [11] is one of the oldest classification
algorithm that works based on the Bayes Theorem. Bayes theorem works based on prior probability
values and assumes independence between the features used for analysis. The bayes classification
model works efficiently on very large datasets. It is simple and easy to build. Bayes classifier used in
emotion detection for speech gives an average accuracy of 67%. The nearest neighbor algorithm is a
lazy learning algorithm that analyses many training data samples and relates every test data sample to
the closest matching train data sample to produce an output [12]. In this algorithm a

Have you ever seen someone at a party or walking around and fell in love with them at first sight?
Well in William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet the main character, Romeo and Juliet fall in love at
first sight at Juliet s families party. This book is set in London in the mid 1590s. There are two
families that don t like each other at all. One family is the Montague, which is Romeo s family. Then
the other family is the Capulet, which is Juliet s family. There has been a family feud going on for a
long long time and seems like it will never end. Romeo and Juliet get into a lot of trouble throughout
the book. It starts from when they meet. Their families the Montague, and Capulet, don t mix well,

Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name.
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I ll no longer be a Capulet. (2.2. 36.39)
This is a very important scene and set of lines. Also at the beginning of this act Romeo is talking but
Juliet can t hear him or see him. Same for her, she is saying thing about him but he does not her her.
Romeo just sees Juliet s beauty on the balcony. Juliet says O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou
Romeo? She is not saying where are you. She is saying why Romeo, why are you a Montague. Don t
listen to your parents take away that last name. If you do that I will do that
3 also, I won t be a capulet. As I said before this is a very important set of lines, because everyone
remembers and talks about this when they think of Romeo and Juliet the story.
Throughout the book, the love between Romeo and Juliet gets stronger and more serious. In Act two
they are already planning a wedding. Just a side note, they have only meet less than twenty four hours
before they are planning a wedding:
Juliet:

IDEA also stated that any alternate assessment must be aligned to grade level standards (Towles

support as a critical element in reading instruction as shown in student performances using targeted
intervention measures that align to the student s instructional level and to reading standards (Lemons,

will fall short in being able to understand the critical elements needed to read and will only be able to

How is very important because often how shows the true intent of the individual because it can be
used easily to manipulate the audience. Champaign is has many examples, one being how she
presented herself on The Jerry Springer Show. Champaign believes herself to be a woman, so she
dresses like a woman and also softens her voice because it is who she is. This allowed the audience to
see her as a woman, so far that her boyfriend, Andre, didn t notice she was born a man. Champaign
changed her appearance because she identifies as a woman and this is how she controlled her identity
so people see her as a woman. Another example of how Champaign used how she presents herself to
the audience is when she became angry and confrontational towards a live audience member and
Andre, she lowered and relaxed her voice to a much more masculine voice. This was all after being
ridiculed and attacked for being born a man, Champaign tried to present herself as worthy physical
adversary to intimidate those who opposed her. Just by changing her voice she completely changed
her identity from a girl who wants to come clean from a secret, to an intimidating figure. After she
lowered her voice the crowd clearly reacted to the way that Champaign intended to by making them
burst in excitement because of the implication of a physical confrontation. Nikki Lee also used how

Analysis Of The Grizzly Man By Werner Herzog
Grizzly Man
Werner Herzog directed a documentary film called Grizzly Man to show viewers how much interest
Timothy Treadwell demonstrated towards human nature and how he demonstrates human nature
through himself. Timothy Treadwell spent thirteen long summers in Alaskan Peninsula. He went to go
portray his love and protection to the wild life and grizzly bears, which lead him to his miserable
death. Herzog creates a sequence of scenes, comments, and interviews from people who is well
connected directly or indirectly with Treadwell. His purpose of directing the Grizzly Man
documentary through Treadwell s own film was to convey the viewers the difference of human beings
and the wild life animals. Herzog s main effective argument was to convey how courageous and how
insane Treadwell was to spend thirteen summers in the wild life of grizzly bears. Werner Herzog
created this documentary of Treadwell s films because he was not your ordinary type of guy. He was
very bold, brave, adventurous. Herzog introduces Treadwell with one of Treadwell s shots that he
films during his grizzly bear journey. Treadwell states,
I m out in the prime of big green. Behind me are Ed and Rowdy, members of an up and coming sub

Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the
1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset
protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles Whitlock,
2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and manage than
a corporation and quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014). Similarities to
corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the shareholders of
corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from creditors and other
stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the capital contribution
(Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members to the creditors
(Millon, 2007).
Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have been the
crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a corporation, an
LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require periodic meetings.
Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose default fiduciary duties,
these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of the LLC (Raju Remming,
2012). As opposed to corporations following FASB ASC 105 Generally

Employee Engagement And Employee Relationship
Abstract In today s corporate world, where reliability to organizations is fading fast, engagement has
been growing by companies to maintain employees. Employee engagement is a level of commitment
and involvement of employees towards their organization and its value, (Maslach, 2008). An engaged
employee works with his/her colleagues to progress their productivity within their job, for the ultimate
benefit of the organization. Effective managers have the talent to get things done by other employees.
This is done by motivating employees to accomplish tasks. A manager must be able to represent these
tasks to employees. Motivated employees will work with the manager to accomplish company
objectives. Those employees who are displeased will work against company objectives. In this study it
examines to see what enhances employee engagement or what can create the employee to be
disengaged. Employee engagement drives employees motivation, job satisfaction, and loyalty to their
companies. A manager s capability to build solid relationships with employees generates engaging
employees which then they can accomplish at the highest level and be a successful employee, (Judge,
2001). Employee motivation is seen as an important building block in the growth of effective
businesses. A motivated employee symbolizes both a modest advantage and as a strategic asset in the
corporate world, which is why the issue of building self motivation in employees has sparkled interest
in managers. Not

  • 2. Indications For Liver Biopsy And Histological Assessment... INDICATIONS FOR LIVER BIOPSY Liver biopsy and histological assessment of the liver has now taken on an important role in clinical management. Therefore liver biopsy currently has two major roles: (A) Diagnostic purposes: Liver biopsy is helpful in diagnosis of many forms of liver disease such as acute and chronic hepatitis (Wilson disease, alpha 1 antitrypsin disease, glycogen storage diseases, AIH, NiemannPick disease and others), cholestatic disorders, fatty liver disease, vascular diseases, infiltrative or storage diseases, some infectious diseases, and other disorders that may be associated with characteristic histological abnormalities. It also plays a role in the diagnosis of patients with abnormal liver tests of unknown etiology (Czaja et al., 2007). (B) Liver biopsy in the assessment of known liver disease: Liver histology is also commonly used in disease monitoring of patients with AIH. First, the portal based plasma cell infiltrate may predict relapse and second, liver biopsy is often obtained prior to steroid dose reduction and/or discontinuation of immunosuppressive therapy (Rockey et al., 2009). 1 Neonatal Cholestasis Some forms of neonatal cholestasis can be identified biochemically and genetically, but others require LB. Biliary atresia (BA): Typically neonates with BA have acholic stools, firm livers, and abnormal values for biochemical markers of hepatobiliary injury. Histopathologic evaluation permits diagnosis of BA in 96% of adequate LB ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. I Sit Before You A Self Proclaimed Sustainablatarian I sit before you a self proclaimed Sustainablatarian. I ve come through a long list of food and lifestyle choices and here is where I am today. Many years ago, I heard someone say be true to yourself so I quit eating meat. I had wanted to for a while, but it s hard to go against the grain; to do other than what our culture tells us is normal . When I was growing up the hippies from the 60 s were still weirdo s so that s what I learned was the definition of weird. Since those weird hippies were vegetarians I didn t want to be that. But sometimes it only takes finally listening to something we ve heard a million times. My choice was partially a dietary choice. I told myself that if I didn t eat the meat I would have to supplement my diet was something and hopefully it would be healthier. And partially it was an ethical choice. I had read Michael Pollen s article Power Steer among other things and knew about how animals are treated and believe it to be wrong. I don t object to animals dying because that s part of the cycle of life. Something has to die so the something else can live. I used to say I feel just as guilty about the broccoli dying as the cow dying. I don t actually feel very guilty about either because I believe it s the way Mother Nature set up our system. Over time the dietary choice has melded with the ethical choice. It s healthier for me to eat food that was raised healthfully. I m still choosing not to eat unhealthy foods and replacing ... • 4. A Good Deed Is Done, Performed, Or Accomplished Essay A deed is something that is done, performed, or accomplished. A good deed is something that is accomplished aswell, but involves helping, improving lives, and/or making a positive lasting impression in the community. There are millions of good deeds I couldve done for this project. I couldve helped at a homeless shelter, volunteer for big brothers/big sisters, I couldve even volunteered at an animal shelter. For my good deed I decided to donate blood. It was an extremely life changing experience that I would love to share with you. Ill be honest, I wasnt extremely ecstatic about the idea of getting a pint of blood taken from me in the middle of a school day. Throughout the day I tried to pace myself and remain calm. Now I m pretty good at relaxing, but all I ever knew about being relaxed flew out of the window as soon as I stepped foot into the gym area. I grabbed a pamphlet and a folder labeled American Red Cross in big, bold letters. I sat down and read all of the information they emphasize in the folder. The first few pages were labeled with how I help and what I m doing and I skimmed over those as Id already known how deep in I was. When the time came a nurse let me to a little room where she had to take my blood sugar and heartbeat to make sure I was capable of donating today. At first, I wasnt. She had informed me my heartbeat was through the roof and asked if I was nervous. Duh! Id thought. She let me sit and relax for about 5 10 minutes before coming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Demand And Supply Of Labor The demand and supply of labor is determined by the labor market. There are two players in the labor market: the workers and the firms. All workers will supply their labor to firms in exchange for wages paid by the firms to produce manufactured Items. The need for laborers is comprised of the firms need to produce any given number of products to supply the consumers demand. Because of this, the labor market directly affects supply, demand, and the price of manufactured items. Of the three resources of production (land, labor, capital), the labor segment is the most important. Specifically, labor Unions and how they affect the labor market, how skills and education effect the labor market, and the fluctuating employment rates. First, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Industrial capitalism was leading the way and did not share the same ideology and vision of the labor movement. According to the heritage.org, labor unions today harm the economy because they function as labor cartels. Labor cartels restrict the number of workers allotted in a company or industry resulting in an increase in wages for the union workers. Just as the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) attempts to cut the supply of oil to raise its price, companies pass on those higher wages that have to be paid to the union members to consumers through higher prices, and often earn lower profits, as reported by James Sherk, What Unions Do: How Labor Unions Affect Jobs and the Economy. Companies today have less power to increase prices on consumers without going out of business. Labor unions are also effective at taxing company investments through the negotiation of higher wages for their members causing a decrease in profits. Companies that are unionized, counter the negotiations through reduced investments, thus making the companies less competitive in the market. The graph below provided by heritage.org, displays union vs. non union manufacturing employment trends. Because of this, job opportunities are reduced and the economy suffers. (1) Research has shown that unions make for a slower economic recovery. Over the long run, business investment is reduced due to labor cartels ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay snow faliing on cedars racism In a community of five thousand damp souls (Guterson 5) as described by David Guterson in his novel, Snow Falling on Cedars. A community that concentrated a variety of ethnicity, among them was both Whites and Japanese. As a result of the racial differences, racism has came into existences and have impacted the life of both children and adult in that isolated island called San Piedro. It is responsible for the internment of Kabuo, Hatsue, and their families, the breakup of Hatsue and Ishmael, Kabuo s loss of his land, and perhaps for his indictment for murder. Before the war years, Kabuo s father, Zenhichi made an illegal agreement with the victim s father, Carl Heine senior. It was an agreement to an eight year lease to own contract. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As because of the coroner s inaccurate judgement, it had worsened Kabuo situation in the trail. Now that all the evidences had turned against Kabuo, it has made others to focus mainly on Kabuo, and think that he is behind of all this. Later on, abroad Kabuo s ship Art Moran n the mooring rope and fishing gaff with the victim s blood on it. With all those evidences it would have proven Kabuo to be the murderer, but new evidences came into existences to overturn the entire situation and twisted the case as of being an accident rather than a first degree murder case. If it wasn t for prejudice this trail would never has gone so far or would never had happened in the first place. The internment of Kabuo, Hatsue and the rest of their family are mainly because the U.S governments are being racist toward Japanese. They government did not trust the Japanese because they feared that among them were spies, even thou they swore to be loyalty to the U.S. Some of them even stand up to fight for the U.S against their home country to demonstrated their loyalty, because they believed that they are America and no longer consider as Japanese. Women in ancient civilization industrialized negatively due to the lack of respect women had gotten from men. The thought women had gotten from the males was that their only purpose in life was to be the mother; only seen, not heard for both women and children. To show that women and their children had no freedom, independence, and were considered a property of the male: 210. If a woman should die, they shall kill his daughter ( FROM The Code of Hammurabi 23). By men treating women as if they had no freedom, independence, and were the property of the men they negatively influence the development of civilization for women by making it more difficult for their civilization to expand. Women were the property of the men since men thought women were incompetent of doing anything on their own. While analyzing The Code of Hammurabi, nearby were many references that women might not be anybody without a man in their lives. Nonetheless, referring to women as being the property of the men, women might not get recognized until doing the following: 128. If a man marries a wife but does not draw up a formal contract for her, she is not a wife. ( FROM The Code of Hammurabi 20). The play is considered by critics and fans alike to be Shakespeare s most distasteful work that features excessive violence and spectacle. Julie Taymor s film adaption explores the corruption of violence as she creates many visual parallels to our modern culture of entertaining violence, paying close attention to the plays relish of spectacle. Both Shakespeare and Taymor treat the spectacle and excess of the play in their own way which highlights small differences between the two texts. A spectacle can be defined as a visually striking performance or display . As Taymor s version is an adaption, she was able to experiment with the excessive nature of the play and its spectacle. She opened the film with a cold open showing a young boy playing with toy soldiers, violently smashing them together and spraying ketchup all over them to create blood. • 15. Literary Analysis Of The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall ... Rachell Burns English 1302 Section 155 October 26, 2015 Symbolism in Literature Writers often use a myriad of different literary techniques to express different ideas to those who read their work. One of the most common tools authors utilize would be the use of symbols to portray an abstract meaning different from the literal interpretation of the text. This element of a story helps connect an object or idea with the greater meaning within a story through literary analysis. This helps make the moral of the story more meaningful to the specific reader. In The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, A Jury of Her Peers, and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, Katherine Porter, Susan Glaspell, and Gabriel Marquez use one or more predominant symbols to enforce the integrity of the message they are trying to convey to their readers. One example of strong symbolism is in The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, by Katherine Porter when the author uses the color blue as a way to connect the present with different phases in the life of Granny Weatherall, the main character who comes to accept the inevitability of her own death. The color is first used to describe the, white stone china jars with blue whirligigs and words painted on them: coffee, tea, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, (Porter) in the neatly kept home of her youth. The author seems to use the color to bring to life a part of Granny s life when she was young, energetic, and kept a well organized house. The next time the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It started on March 2001 and it was released January 18, 2002. During the real operation there was a dramatic change between it being a simple capture operation to it being a rescue mission that is shown in the movie. Black Hawk Down is historically accurate because the chronological sequence of the operation and rescue mission are correct. In early 1990 Somalia was going through a civil war. Their dictator Mohammed Farrah had order the closer of all food transportation that entered the country. He`s goal was to kill his own people by starving them to death. A Report On The Attack Automation Strategy http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~sunshine/publications/ccr.pdf 1a) An DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) Attack consists of several phases firstly the attacker recruits multiple agent machines which will be later on infected with the attack code and further exploited. The infected machines can be used to further recruit new agents. We can outline those phases as Recruit, Exploit, Infect and Use. ATTACK AUTOMATION STRATEGY The attack automation strategy stands for how much of the DDoS attack does an attacker want to make automatic and how much to leave for manual control. The strategy depends on the degree of automation of the phases of the attack. There are three general automation degrees Manual, Automated and Semi Automated which are explained as follows: o Manual In that case, the hacker manually recruits machines by scanning remote ones for vulnerabilities, breaks their security mechanisms, installs the prepared attack code and then directs the attack. This type of a DDoS Attack has become really outdated since lately all the recruitment phase has been automated. Weak design consideration in terms of functionality and productivity. o Semi Automated In the Semi Automated DDoS attacks the DDoS network is made of a handler and an agent machine. There is automation present for the Recruit, Exploit and Infect phases. Through the communication between the handler and the agent, the attacker specifies the attack type, the onset, the duration and the victims ID. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A study of vegan women in Finland found vegans to be deficient in vitamin D intake without supplements or adequate sunlight exposure through vacations in sunny locations (12). Although reviews of the vegetarian diet (5; 13) warn that deficiencies in several micronutrients are possible, the only marginal nutrient we found in the vegan group is calcium intake. There are several possible reasons for this difference. Vegans may be more health conscious, physically more active, and have a greater understanding of the role of nutrition in general health. As a result, they may also consume more supplements. Another contributing factor may be the recent increase in commercially available foods fortified with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that may lead to higher levels of intake when whole diets are examined. • 27. The Frog King Symbolism The Frog King has a lot of symbolism and lessons? Written within it. One of the big things I believe this story was written for was to show the young girls reading it that arranged marriage wasn t that bad. At first the girl is detested by the frog, but is still forced to honor her promise by her father. She still despises the frog until she either kisses him or is thrown against the wall, depending on the version, and changes into a handsome prince. This just goes to show forced marriages can still turn out good and it isn t as bad as it first seems. I also believe the gold ball could further symbolize arranged marriage. Gold is often a color that is associated with wealth and the girl looses her favorite toy which is the golden ball. I believe in some situations this could show how her family lost their wealth and is marrying the daughter off to a frog king to get it back. Similar to how the frog retrieves her golden ball, he returns the wealth to her/ her family. The gold ball could also symbolize a couple other things. Gold is used to make jewelry and other valuable things, but nots in it raw form. The young immature princess hasn t been shaped into a person yet, similar to the unshaped gold ball. She is without her own morals or ideas, she promises to the frog she will let him sleep with her and is more than willing to break this promise if not for the stern words of her parents to honor her word. As we see their time at dinner, the man notices the more the girl withdrew from him psychically, the more he longed for her physically. There are some men that love the pursuit and after they claimed their prize, it does not excite them like it once had because it does not have the same thrill. The emotions recorded in this dataset belong to six categories, namely: Anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness and surprise. V. Speech Emotion Detection Algorithms The main function of the emotion detection system is to use all the collected data and its features to identify the emotion expressed in it. To perform this a classifier algorithm can be used to create a classification model. There are several options of classification algorithms that can be used for this purpose. Some of the top choices of algorithm based on research and existing systems include Bayes classifier, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), K nearest neighbors (KNN), Hidden Markov Models (HMM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Bayes classifier [11] is one of the oldest classification algorithm that works based on the Bayes Theorem. Bayes theorem works based on prior probability values and assumes independence between the features used for analysis. The bayes classification model works efficiently on very large datasets. It is simple and easy to build. Bayes classifier used in emotion detection for speech gives an average accuracy of 67%. The nearest neighbor algorithm is a lazy learning algorithm that analyses many training data samples and relates every test data sample to the closest matching train data sample to produce an output [12]. Technical Workstream Leader Essay The Roll of a Technical Workstream Lead I have served our Country in the armed forces for more than a dozen years and when I hear the term technical workstream leader, a Warrant Officer is the first though that comes to my mind. The army warrant officer definition is a self aware and adaptive technical expert, combat leader, trainer, and advisor (U.S. Army Human Resource Command, 2004). The roll of the warrant officer in the military is being a technical expert, well versed in new technologies, and able to integrate them in support military operations. Warrant officers are technical workstream leaders and, for the last two years, I have been a warrant officer in the US Army. The roll of technical workstream leaders is to close the gap between management and production by providing technical advice, training, and integrate new technologies. Without explicit instruction in phonological awareness, a student will fall short in being able to understand the critical elements needed to read and will only be able to learn by memorization (Shankweiler Fowler, 2004). Champaign is has many examples, one being how she presented herself on The Jerry Springer Show. Champaign believes herself to be a woman, so she dresses like a woman and also softens her voice because it is who she is. This allowed the audience to see her as a woman, so far that her boyfriend, Andre, didn t notice she was born a man. Champaign changed her appearance because she identifies as a woman and this is how she controlled her identity so people see her as a woman. Another example of how Champaign used how she presents herself to the audience is when she became angry and confrontational towards a live audience member and Andre, she lowered and relaxed her voice to a much more masculine voice. This was all after being ridiculed and attacked for being born a man, Champaign tried to present herself as worthy physical adversary to intimidate those who opposed her. Just by changing her voice she completely changed her identity from a girl who wants to come clean from a secret, to an intimidating figure. After she lowered her voice the crowd clearly reacted to the way that Champaign intended to by making them burst in excitement because of the implication of a physical confrontation. • 37. Analysis Of The Grizzly Man By Werner Herzog Grizzly Man Werner Herzog directed a documentary film called Grizzly Man to show viewers how much interest Timothy Treadwell demonstrated towards human nature and how he demonstrates human nature through himself. Timothy Treadwell spent thirteen long summers in Alaskan Peninsula. He went to go portray his love and protection to the wild life and grizzly bears, which lead him to his miserable death. Herzog creates a sequence of scenes, comments, and interviews from people who is well connected directly or indirectly with Treadwell. His purpose of directing the Grizzly Man documentary through Treadwell s own film was to convey the viewers the difference of human beings and the wild life animals. Werner Herzog created this documentary of Treadwell s films because he was not your ordinary type of guy. He was very bold, brave, adventurous. Herzog introduces Treadwell with one of Treadwell s shots that he films during his grizzly bear journey. Treadwell states, I m out in the prime of big green. • 38. Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the 1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles Whitlock, 2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and manage than a corporation and quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014). Similarities to corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the shareholders of corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from creditors and other stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the capital contribution (Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members to the creditors (Millon, 2007). Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have been the crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a corporation, an LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require periodic meetings. Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose default fiduciary duties, these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of the LLC (Raju Remming, 2012). • 40. Employee Engagement And Employee Relationship Abstract In today s corporate world, where reliability to organizations is fading fast, engagement has been growing by companies to maintain employees. Employee engagement is a level of commitment and involvement of employees towards their organization and its value, (Maslach, 2008). An engaged employee works with his/her colleagues to progress their productivity within their job, for the ultimate benefit of the organization. Effective managers have the talent to get things done by other employees. This is done by motivating employees to accomplish tasks. A manager must be able to represent these tasks to employees. Motivated employees will work with the manager to accomplish company objectives. Those employees who are displeased will work against company objectives. In this study it examines to see what enhances employee engagement or what can create the employee to be disengaged. Employee engagement drives employees motivation, job satisfaction, and loyalty to their companies. A manager s capability to build solid relationships with employees generates engaging employees which then they can accomplish at the highest level and be a successful employee, (Judge, 2001).
