Implementing A Performance Management Communication
Implementing a Performance Management Communication An effect communication plan is a critical
part of performance management. Performance management affects everyone in the organization. It
helps employees understand how they are contributing to the organizations goals, what is expected of
them, how they are doing, and how they can continue to grow, develop, and add value to the business
(Duggan, n.d.). The communication plan describes what the organization wants to accomplish based
on the information they provide their employees such as, the objectives and outcomes identified. The
communication plan should outline individual responsibilities for everyone that is involved in the
performance process. In addition, the communication plan acts as a tool to ensure that everyone has
the right information in a timely manner (Duggan, n.d.). Therefore, effectively communicating a
performance management plan will ensure that all participants have a clear and complete message,
while ensuring that feedback is incorporated into the message (Todericiu, Muscalu, Fraticiu, 2012).
Communication Plan An effective communication plan should address the following questions for all
employees within the organization. Without an effective plan, the organization can suffer from
misunderstandings, lack of information, decrease in performance, and suffer from increased employee
turnover.
What is Performance Management? Every employee within the organization should understand what

Dream Blocker Narrative
The Dream Blocker Kevin was just, your average fifth grader, who had a great love for soccer. His
Mother and Father were great soccer players during their time of international competition. When
Kevin, which everyone calls Kev for short, displayed an interest in the game at three. His Parents
taught him, everything there is to know, about the game. To his Parents surprise, Kevin was a fast
learner and very skilled athlete. One day at school, Kevin had heard about soccer tryouts from his
fellow classmate Jason. Hey Kevin, Jason asked, are you trying out? Sure Kevin replied. Are you?
Kevin asked? Heck yeah Jason answered. Cool, Kevin said, we ll both be on the team together. They

received no answer. He just can t figure out, why he wasn t allowed to tryout. Kevin told his Mom and
Dad, what coach said to him, his Dad said to him, don t give up son, and you will make it on that
team. Well, Kevin went to his school s soccer games , to support the team and his friend Jason, who by
the way made the squad. The team wasn t bad, but their goalie was. The team went on a losing streak.
Coach Smith was very frustrated and desperate. The other subs on the team were too afraid to get into
the game. Out of fear, letting their team and coach down. During the middle of one of their games ,
Coach Smith asked Kevin, did he still want to play? Kevin excitedly said yes, but he told Coach Smith

Public Art in the United Arab Emirates
Public art is the art that has been planned to of being staged in public and its usually outdoor, it can be
carved sculpture, cast or built or painted. What s special about public art is the way how it is made, the
place where it is and what meaning it has behind it. Public art can express community value or
describe a cultural related point, and its placed in public for everyone to see. Public art is a reflection
of how the artist sees the world and response to his time and space. In this essay, I want to review
about how the public art reflects the traditional culture.
As an example of public art in the UAE, is the camel caravan. It is a sculpture of a camel that is
painted with colorful different shapes. There is several camels caravan located around the place, and
each of them has a different unique style. I believe that public art should be reflective of traditional
culture. The camel caravan also has a reflection on the cultural side that camels are very common and
a known animal in the UAE. Public art strategies help to uncover and enhance the implied identity, the
value, the unique meaning and the character of the social and physical form of a community or a
society, the community s character and sense of space reflects this identity. The person s sense of
space always develops over time while reflecting the shade of his social values around and within the
community. The character of a community will be reflected by its cultural narrative space of a place.

Summary of Max Webers The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit...
Summary of Max Webers The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism
Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism is a study of the relationship between
the ethics of ascetic Protestantism and the emergence of the spirit of modern capitalism. Weber argues
that the religious ideas of groups such as the Calvinists played a role in creating the capitalistic spirit.
Weber first observes a correlation between being Protestant and being involved in business, and
declares his intent to explore religion as a potential cause of the modern economic conditions. He
argues that the modern spirit of capitalism sees profit as an end in itself, and pursuing profit as
virtuous. Weber s goal is to understand the source of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While important, this alone cannot explain the need to pursue profit. One branch of Protestantism,
Calvinism, does provide this explanation. Calvinists believe in predestination that God has already
determined who is saved and damned. As Calvinism developed, a deep psychological need for clues
about whether one was actually saved arose, and Calvinists looked to their success in worldly activity
for those clues. Thus, they came to value profit and material success as signs of God s favor. Other
religious groups, such as the Pietists, Methodists, and the Baptist sects had similar attitudes to a lesser
degree. Weber argues that this new attitude broke down the traditional economic system, paving the
way for modern capitalism. However, once capitalism emerged, the Protestant values were no longer
necessary, and their ethic took on a life of its own. We are now locked into the spirit of capitalism
because it is so useful for modern economic activity.
Throughout his book, Weber emphasizes that his account is incomplete. He is not arguing that
Protestantism caused the capitalistic spirit, but rather that it was one contributing factor. He also
acknowledges that capitalism itself had an impact on the development of the religious ideas. The full
story is much more complex than Weber s partial account, and Weber himself constantly reminds his
readers about his own limitations. The book itself has an introduction and five chapters. The first three
chapters make up

Gender Roles In The Great Gatsby
Good Afternoon Ms Atkinson and fellow peers, as you can see, the texts I have chosen to discuss with
you are To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Lullaby by
W. H . Auden, all of which have modernist themes, including conforming to traditional gender roles,
time and love. To the Lighthouse revolves around the lives of the Ramsay family who are at their
holiday house, hosting some guests, including Lily Briscoe (a painter) and Charles. The family are
faced with different obstacles throughout the day, Lily with a discouraging comment from Charles and
James oppositions with his father, but in the end, despite the differences, it is clear the Mr Ramsay

H. Auden s Lullaby. In to the Lighthouse, we can see that Mrs Ramsay is unable to declare her love
for her husband, yet both of them knew that she loved him. As Mr Ramsay can be seen as a
representation of a typical modernist man, we see that like many other artists of the lost generation, he
is constantly plagued with insecurities, constantly seeking reassurance in the brokenness of the
fragmented society. In To the Lighthouse, we see that Mrs Ramsay wishes that James and Cam do not
grow any older, Oh, but she never wanted James to grow a day older! or Cam either , this is in contrast
to W. H. Auden s lullaby when he says, All the dreaded cards foretell, shall be paid, but from this
night, not a whisper, not a thought, not a kiss nor look be lost. , that even though it is fate that the
lovers will be separated, possibly by death, the author still wants to cherish the moments he can have
with his lover, and that he refuses to have any interruptions separating him and his lover till fate parts
them. W. H. Auden also writes, Time and fever burn away individual beauty stating that although
people may be extremely beautiful, but disease and time decays their beauty and ultimately, everyone
has the same ending point. Although the poet and Mrs Ramsay has conflicting attitudes about time and
love, both have an ominous feeling of an unavoidable end. Again, Woolf uses a mixture of shifting

While doing some research on Ida B. Wells I found out that she had been born a slave, just before
emancipation. She attended Rust College and became a school teacher at Memphis. In 1887, she was
thrown out of a train because she refused to get out of her seat. It took the conductor (who she bit),
baggageman, and another white man to kick her out of the train, She sued the Chesapeake Ohio
Railroad for not allowing her to sit at the ladies car, and show won at the local court, however, the

The Messenger In Antigone
The Messenger delivers an important news to Creon is that Haimon is death, and Antigone killed
herself in the cave. I think that the Messenger means when he says that Harmon was driven mad is
that Haimon went crazy and killed himself because his own father; Creon, killed his girlfriend.
I think that Creon went to bury Polyneices before releasing Antigone because he is afraid that
Antigone will interrupt him while he s doing the burial if there is any mistake or dissatisfaction that
Antigone may seem to have for his brother Polyneices. So that when he release Antigone, Polyneices
burial has been done, and Antigone can t complaint about any mistakes that happened while burying.
Yes, I think that if Creon have release Antigone before burying Polyneices, Haimon and Antigone
would come back together because of their power of love, and this tragic will not going to happen.

Blood Theme Of Blood In Macbeth
Blood Signifying Honor, Betrayal, and Guilt in Macbeth
Blood is usually considered to be something related to abhorrence and wrongdoing. However, in the
play Macbeth, Shakespeare associates blood with a variety of different atmospheres. Ideas of guilt,
betrayal, and honor are established in this tragedy with the use of this symbolism. Blood and
bloodiness can be traced all throughout the drama signifying these ideas. Although the uses of blood
produce many different effects, all are used to symbolize death. All throughout Macbeth, Shakespeare
uses the motif of blood to establish the themes of honor, betrayal, and his character s constant guilt.
Blood is seen all throughout Macbeth and is used in a few instances to create the theme of honor
between Shakespeare s characters. In the beginning of the play, one of the first characters introduced
is a bloody captain. Shakespeare uses this blood here, however, not to symbolize something negative,
but to signify victory after battle. In the fight against the Thane of Cawdor, the Captain who happens
to be covered in blood is told, So well thy words become thee as thy wounds:/ They smack of honor
both (1.2.47 48). This man covered in blood is used here to exemplify the victory of the battle that was
just won. Macbeth s success in battle is also represented by this symbol of blood further in this scene
when the Captain boasts, For Brave Macbeth (well he deserves that name), / Disdaining Fortune, with
his brandished steel, / Which

The Impact Of Tourism On Orlando, Florida
Introduction
Florida is tourism. Every modern image of the state evokes travel for pleasure. To most outsiders,
Florida is one big theme park, not a state but a magic kingdom of dreams and fantasies, where real
life, with its mundane cares, is effectively banished (Revels, 2011). Orlando, Florida can be
appreciated as a destination where this image was created, where exhilarating attractions, distinct
restaurants and hotels, and superior shopping have become a tourist s dream vacation. Orlando has
become the first destination in the United States to surpass over 62 million visitors in 2014, setting a
new record for tourism as the most visited destination in the nation (Visit Orlando, 2015). Being one

of their experience in the destination. In order to create opportunities for tourists to visit places these
attractions need to be innovative and simulating (Gisolf, 2012).
Attractions can be labeled into different categories based on certain characteristics they offer. These
types of attractions are categorized under historical landmarks, museums and galleries, nature,
shopping malls, and amusement and water parks (Heath, 2014). Each category has a set of features

nature attractions that incorporate the outdoors. These characteristics make up each type of

The Five Characteristics Of A Command Or Planned Economy
A command or planned economy is a system economy where everything about economy is controlled
by the government. This means that the government determines what kinds of goods and services to
be produced, using a method or manner of goods and services will be made up and who will consume
those goods and services. So that, a command economy, it is easier for the government to control the
inflation, unemployment and other economic problems. Command economy is benefit for the society
because the government seeks to provide for everyone and it maximizes social welfare.
In a command economy, the role of individuals is fully controlled by the government so that the role
of economic planning by the state in regulating the economy is so important. The role of the market as
an allocation tool of economic resources was replaced by the way of endorsement or rationing because
possession of economic assets is joint ownership in this command economy system. So the
government can easily monitor the activities of the existing economy and facilitate the country can
take full responsibility for the economic activities so that equal distribution of income among
segments of society can be assured. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Abolition Of Torture Analysis
This paper addresses one of the most abiding and heated controversies surrounding the topic of torture
and morality. Put simply, this controversy concerns the issue of whether under extreme and
exceptional circumstances, a government agency should be legally permitted to use torture as a means
of punishment or extracting information. According to Oxford Dictionary, torture is defined as The
action of inflicting severe pain on someone as a punishment or in order to force them to do or say

Montresor Hyperbole
Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration to make a point. Look at the first paragraph. What phrase used by
the narrator is an example of hyperbole? Write down the full sentence that includes the hyperbolic
element. Does this line make you more sympathetic or less toward the narrator/murderer? Why? The
first line of the story states; The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when
he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge. If the narrator did bare one thousand injuries from
Fortunato, that would be remarkable, but highly unlikely. I feel more sympathetic towards the
character because if he was to see one thousand injuries, then he must have suffered a great deal of
pain and embarrassment from Fortunato. Montresor tells us, A wrong unredressed when retribution

him who has done the wrong. In your words, explain what this means. Could you help me to
understand what this quote means. What is it about Montresor that makes him an especially effective
enemy to Fortunato? Give an example from a book you ve read of a film/TV how you ve seen in
which this type of villain exists. Montresor is an effective enemy to Fortunato as he knows his weak

Elements Of Poetry In Ask MeBy Arakida Moritage
1. In Ask me by William Stafford (376), the element of poetry that stands out most for me is didactic
poetry. William starts with Some time when the river is ice ask me mistakes I have made. grabbing
reader s attention towards the issue he is discussing in his poem. Some people stood with him during
difficult times, some didn t ask me what difference their strongest love or hate has made. But, that

Comparing Hegel s And Kierkegaard
Hegel s and Kierkegaard s philosophies can be attributed to the Romantic influences of the late
eighteenth century. Each were also opposed to their predecessor; aspects of Romanticism were
criticized by Hegel, while Kierkegaard had a negative disposition to Hegel s ideas as he deemed them
inapplicable to one s personal life. In Sophie s World, Hegel s world spirit is described as the sum of
human utterances. In the same context, Kierkegaard s existentialism is described as the only important
thing [is] each man s own existence. It is also worth noting, though Kierkegaard rebuked Hegelianism,
the man himself was dead a decade before Kierkegaard was thirty years old, so it could not be said the
two men were direct contemporaries. Thusly it is seen that Kierkegaard seemed to almost be fixated
on discrediting Hegel and the Romantics. Comparisons of such dialectically opposed philosophies are
difficult to explore, since one is so critical of the other. However, as mentioned above, both must be
credited to the influences of Romanticism. Hegel redefined their world spirit ... Show more content on

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the meaning of subjectivity of truth was another point of contention. Hegel
derived his opinion from history, noting that each successive generation changed where their
knowledge came from thus making it s origin fluid and unabsolute. Kierkegaard derived his opinion
from within, another point of existentialism, and thought that truth was something an individual must
discuss from within and be wholly passionate with the decision. Nevertheless, both resulted in the
conclusion that truth is not absolute, but Hegel regarded the Truths of humanity with prominence,
while Kierkegaard conversely regarded the truths of an individual as much more

College Is An American Writer
All humans come to a point on whether or not they would like to attend college. College is a step one
takes to further their education in the pursuit of having a career. But is that the only reason why
someone would really choose to go to college? Choosing to become part of a huge or small
community that holds a lot responsibilities is big decision one must think thoroughly about. They must
have a purpose behind it for its rare to see someone say I want to go to college just because I want.
Louis Menand, an American writer, has addressed this question with the three most common theories
as to why someone would decide to go to college. His theories will show the different perspectives
upon the arrival of choosing to attend college which will lead to what I find very convincing from
them all.
We go to college to spend four years of our lives and thousands of money on the school, yet we never
ask ourselves why we choose to attend college. Menand developed three reasons as to why people
may choose to go to college; meritocratic, democratic, and vocational. These theories arose when
asked a simply, yet very intellectual question, Why did we have to buy this book? (Menand pp. 1).
Theory one beliefs that only the intelligent ones are able to attend this four year university. The
education given in college is help progress the society we live in. In order for that to happen, society
needs a mechanism for sorting out its more intelligent members from its less intelligent ones

Descartes Meditations On First Philosophy
Descartes uses the dream experience and the idea of an evil genius to explain that our senses can
deceive us. Descartes explains that there is systematic doubt meaning our sense experiences such as
sight, smell, touch, taste, and hear can deceive us. However, Descartes explains how sight (vision) can
deceive us, such as our dreams. Descartes goes in deeper to explain his dream theory in the First
Mediation in the Meditations on First Philosophy by saying that there isn t a way for us to determine
whether the experiences in our dreams from those experiences when we are awake because they are
real that they are able to deceive us. This is because while we are dreaming, we usually are not aware
that we are dreaming. For example, dreams can deceive us by experiencing a visual sensation.
Imagine while you are dreaming of being fully clothes with a shirt, pants, and shoes. Descartes
explains the visual sensation of our dreams must have had influence from outside objects and that
those objects in our dreams do exist in the outside world. So, even though our dreams may look real it
is false. The main question comes into play, How do we know if we re not dreaming now? we don t he

Americans see Harvard as the college attended by the best of the brightest and would expect it to have

how the anti intellectual culture has seeped into every part of an American s life: from kindergarten to

Starting At An Early Age It Became Apparent To Me That
Starting at an early age it became apparent to me that others around me seemed to be very self
centered. I grew up in a relatively poor family in Oregon that did what they could to care for my two
brothers and myself, but there were serious issues present in my family that would tear it apart. My
father was an alcoholic and would often be abusive to my mother when he drank; this started early on
in their relationship before I was born. Among alcohol problems, my father also had dealings with
various illicit substances. This eventually accumulated in my mother having an emotional breakdown
and deciding to leave for New York with a man that she had developed a relationship with online. She
gave my brothers and I the option to come with her, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These times were not extremely pleasant as my father continued to abuse my eldest brother and
eventually it started to transfer to my other brother and myself; however, we made the most of what
we had at the time. There were some good memories of the ranch we lived on; what child does not
enjoy living near so many animals. I remember quite well that we did not have a vehicle at this time
and we would go out every couple of weeks and walk several miles to the grocery store so that we
could backpack what we had bought back. This doesn t sound pleasant but it was actually one of the
better experiences during this time period. My father taught us that you do not need a vehicle to
survive and that there many people out there in the same situation. Once our stay had worn out at the
ranch we moved to an adjacent city to try and find another place to stay. This did not work out in the
beginning and we ended up staying a one room motel for the next month or so while my father
attempted to find employment. During this time, I met a man that still sticks in my memories to this
day. He was the principal of the school that I was attending at the time and helped our family on
numerous different occasions; he did more for us in that time then our own father did. This brought to
my attention that there are many wonderful people in the world that will do nearly anything to help
others. Eventually my father did find employment and we managed to move into a nearby

Similarities And Difference Between Sudan And United Arab...
Having lived ten years in Sudan and six years in the United Arab Emirates, I have therefore developed
very strong concise opinions about both countries. Sudan being located in Africa and the United Arab
Emirates located in the Middle East share some similarities and difference which will be shown
through talking about each country s tradition, economy and architecture and rituals. I believe the
quality of living in the UAE is of higher standards, due to the advancements made in its infrastructure,
economy and education.
In Sudan there are around 114 languages being spoken there but the most dominant language being
Arabic. The official language spoken in the UAE is also Arabic. In Sudan it is usual to enquire about
one s family and health when meeting someone and shaking one s hand is usually sufficient with a
hug as for the UAE asalamu alaikom (peace be upon you) is said and is replied with wa alaikom
asalam ( and peace be upon you too). In the UAE locals exchange greetings by softly shaking hands
and touching rubbing their noses together.
Sudan is a country known for its kind, generous and hospitable people especially towards their guests
who visit their humble homes. The traditional clothing worn by Sudanese men is the jalabiya a long
loose fitting usually white colored worn with a taqiya which is a round cap. Traditional clothing for
Sudanese woman is a thawb which is a long garment wrapped around the body, a thawb comes in

Rise Above the Misery in Les Misérables by Victor Hugo...
As the era of literature slowly declines, the expert critiques and praise for literature are lost.
Previously, novels were bursting at the seams with metaphors, symbolism, and themes. In current
times, novels are simply short stories that have been elaborated on with basic plot elements that
attempt to make the story more interesting. Instead of having expert critical analysis written about
them, they will, most likely, never see that, as recent novels have nothing to analyze. Even books are
beginning to collect dust, hidden away and forgotten, attributing to the rise of companies such as
Spark Notes. An author deserves to have his work praised, no matter how meager and the masses
should have the right to embrace it or to reject it. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, another critic believes that the morals and peer pressure of a dauntless society are what
causes Man to become evil. This evil slowly forces them to progress into hardened ruffians that are
forced to resort to a pis aller in order to regain some hope for themselves. Thus, society cannot evolve
(Lewes 245). Contrary to what Reeves believes, Critic Moss believes that misfortune is the sole cause
of one s faults and that the main theme of the novel is the barrier between those who choose
degradation and those who are driven to it (228). Furthermore, the critic Napierkowski believes that
the meaning of life is love and that through the love that all people receive, any number of traits can
be changed. She explicates that change is extremely relevant in the case of Jean Valjean who is a
convict turned upstanding citizen. She also recalls that in the novel Valjean is only transformed due to
the love he receives from the Bishop of Digne, who gave Valjean everything that he had (Novels for
Students). Reeves, again, also explores the concept that Hugo is trying to prove that humans need to
love each other for the world to be a happier place (Masterplots). Thus, through evidence in Les
Misérables, the aforementioned themes can easily be proven. As the novel progresses, the two major
themes of love altering one s soul and misfortune being

Essay on Media Violence and The Effects on Children
Does media violence have a negative effect on children?
On September 11th, 2001, millions around the world crowded around televisions across the globe,
watching the horrific scenes of terrorism that had struck New York City, Washington, D.C and
Pennsylvania on that ill fated and now infamous morning. Our sense of security and impenetrable
protection crashed 110 stories to the shaken streets of New York City. We watched with shock and
horror, disbelief and grief as the images were repeatedly flashed before our eyes, with the all the
drama of the plane crashing through the World Trade Center and bursting into an indescribable ball of
fire and of the surreal scenes of demolished piles of what used to be the Twin Towers of New York

Government official and scientific experts agreed that the trauma incited by these images was
detrimental to children. President Bush expressed his concern for the mental scars that could likely be
inflicted upon children as a result of this prevalence of terrorism and violence in the media. It is
apparent then that experts concur; the violent images permeating the media could likely have a
negative effect on children, causing them to feel unsafe, and to live in fear for their own lives and
those of their loved ones. In an interview with CNN, Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell reported that:
Children neurologically are not well suited to deal with extremes of trauma, so when they see this kind
of stuff, right now it may look like some the movies they have seen on television. Except in this case
people don t get up and act in the next (movie). In this case they re injured because they re injured or
they re dead because they re dead. So it can be very traumatizing for children to see these images on
TV.
They don t understand what this is all about...So that s why I m suggesting that we not allow an
excessive amount of TV for children at this particular point (Mitchell, 2001).
The news is not the only source of violence for children. Our fictional television programming is
responsible for significant exposure of children to

People only see what they are prepared to see is a famous quote by Ralph Waldo. This quote
emphasises the fact that the purpose of a text can often be unnoticed and misinterpreted by the viewer.
Many people only have a limited world experience, and it s the Distinctly Visual feature of a text
which allows the viewer to gain a better understanding. Distinctly Visual texts use a combination of
techniques to create and shape an audience s point of view or interpretation, and visualising a text
requires the responder to interpret all of the images presented. The text Shoe Horn Sonata by John
Misto first appears as a play about two friends restoring their relationship after 50 years apart,
however, realistically it also implies that war is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the play, Misto uses the lighting in diverse ways. For example, in the TV studio setting,
the lighting is used to generate an environment in which an interview would take place; a sterile
environment, but in the hotel room setting, the lighting is clear and expresses an optimistic and
welcoming atmosphere. Misto s use of lighting enables the viewer to sense different things depending
on the brightness and direction of the light. In the TV Studio setting, the themes acknowledged are the
cruel treatment of POW s in the camps and the futility of war, whereas in the hotel setting the themes
are those of camaraderie, trust and remorse. By making this contrast, Misto ensures the viewer can see
both sides of the situation. The first scene opens in darkness, when out of the silence comes the voice
of one of the protagonists, Bridie. The spotlight falls upon Bridie as she reminisces on the past,
reciting a self conscious memory of how the Japanese used to torture them by making them kowtow
for hours. She demonstrates the kowtow which takes the audience straight into the action. Misto uses
this specific lighting to attract the audience s attention and attract them to Bridie standing alone in the
spotlight to give an insight of what the text is going to focus on as she talks about her life during the
war. John

The Negative Impact Of Technology In Communication And...
Technology is the answer, but what was the question? (Cedric Price). Ever since the technology was
invented, people have been all over it, acquiring this invention to make their lives easier. From the
tools made by early ancestors to the iPhones created by Apple, innovation has ruled life. People see it
everywhere they go but, with all rewarding inventions comes unfavorable problems. While there are
many arguments stating that technology is beneficial in communication and obtaining information, the
negative impact on society, economy, and the social web lead others to believe that it has been the
source of many serious problems.
Society is impacted immensely by technology in various ways because not only has it worked its way
through classrooms, it has also changed the way of human interaction. To elaborate, with modern
inventions like the iPhone and computer, Alberto Vargas said Technology disconnects us from reality,
we depend on it too much and Thomas Montalbano said Nowadays it s bad because people are too
dependent on it (Chris). Many people depend on this innovation to get tasks done and have a social
life. Humans use machinery every day in common workplaces, schools, and stores. On the Internet,
people may have 789 followers or friends but, in reality, they probably do not interact with some of
those people. Now that automation is improving every year, humans are getting absorbed into their
online life, Ashley Guevara said It s bad because people get too

God Is The Creator And Savior Of All
We, as one body of Christ, were made in the image of God. God is the creator and savior of all. He is
very loving and caring to all his creations. I believe that we, the people, were created due to his
endless and overwhelming love. Because of that, we were called to be God s disciple and to be more
like him in every way. And so, this leads to being a Christ like Character. What does it mean? What
does it mean to be a person like Christ? Someone who exemplifies Christ like character means that
people can look at that person and feel God s presence in him or her. A Christ like character means to
be like God himself. 1 Corinthians 1:1 states Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ
Jesus, and our brother Sosthenes. My dad, who is currently a Pastor at a Korean Presbyterian church,
is an example of this. He is a man of God and a disciple who needs to be shared about. My dad,
Kyoung Su Mun, is a devoted man. He is passionate towards what he does and is committed to
serving God throughout his entire life. Kyoung is called to serve and preach to others about God s
word and the Gospel. I believe that my dad exemplifies Christ like character because not only does he
try to be more like God, he shows God s presence to others. He is a very loving and caring man. He
helps people go into the right path, which is the path to Jesus Christ. There are many wonderful traits I
can talk about to describe my dad, but one of the most important of them is respect. In 1

What Is The Government s Response To The Truman Doctrine
By 1947, US president Harry S. Truman was outraged by the Soviet Union s perceived resistance to

weapons. In February 1947, the British government announced that it could no longer afford to
finance the Kingdom of Greece in its civil war against Communist led insurgents. The US government
s response to this announcement was the adoption of containment, the goal of which was to stop the
spread of Communism. Truman delivered a speech that called for the allocation of $400 million to
intervene in the war and unveiled the Truman Doctrine, which framed the conflict as a contest
between free peoples and totalitarian regimes. American policymakers

The History Of Second Wave Feminism
Second Wave feminism broadened the debate to a wide range of issues: sexuality, family, the
workplace, reproductive rights, de facto inequalities, and official legal inequalities. The movement
was deeply divided by young and old, upper class and lower class, conservative and radical. The
movement focused on means used to strive for equality: lobbying Congress to change laws,
publicizing issues like rape and domestic violence through media, and reaching to ordinary women
telling them how feminism would benefit them. The start of the 1970 s was the beginning of women
taking the reins of emerging media platforms, and using the media as an advantage for protesting and
outreach.
EMPLOYMENT
On September 19, 1970, Women Against Male Supremacy picketed a fashion show in downtown
Minneapolis. The issue that arose from the show was the failure of the show s sponsor (the Star and
Tribune Company) to desexegate its newspapers. Meaning failure to create a unison of equality among
men and women. At this time, women were receiving 57 cents to a man s dollar. The company later
explained the pay gap at a faculty meeting: men needed more money because they were the head of
the household. Stemming from this event, companies exponentially began to use this excuse to reason
both he pay gap, and the unfair employment process. Feminist reformer Vivian Jenkins Nelson saw
this as an opportunity to establish equality in attempt to persuade the company to comply with the
State Act against Discrimination and Federal Equal Employment Opportunity. From this, Nelson got
involved in the Women s Equity Action League(WEAL). Due to repeated discrimination, the D.C.
chapter of the WEAL began to heavily communicate with congress on the unfair employment
measures and payment between men and women. In 1972, Title IX was established in the United
States as an Amendment. Title IX states; No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be
educated from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any
education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Allen Poe
Edgar Allen Poe sets the story in Italy during the rise of the Freemasons. As thinkers and specialists
began to enter the stonemason guilds, they saw a need for the creation of exclusive social clubs. These
social clubs provided members with access to other members with similar ideologies. These ideas lead
to networking that would enable members to share personal networking such as financial, political,
and social ties. As the social clubs grew, they eventually formed Freemasonry. With a secure network,
the Masons would be able to challenge the power of the aristocratic families. The masons would
support the revolutions that would lead to democracy. The perfect storm of networking and
revolutions resulted in the rise of the new money elite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The black clothing Montresor wears tells two stories of the character. The image he projects is a calm
and disciplined persona that lacks impulsive behaviors (Stepp 451). The clothing and black mask also
give off the appearance of a defacto executioner accompanying his victim on his last walk (Platizky
207). In the end, Montresor s upbringing in the old money class of the elite has shaped his view of the
world. Just as Montresor was constructed to be calm and decisive, Fortunato is portrayed as impulsive
and immature. At the beginning of the story, Fortunato is introduced wearing a motley outfit.
Fortunato s outfit brilliantly represents his personality and how he is viewed by the aristocratic
families of the time (Whatley 56,58). The costume builds the idea in the reader s mind that Fortunato
is the exact opposite of Montresor. This opposite effect is shown through many variations throughout
the story. First, Fortunato inadvertently insults Montresor when he admits that he has forgotten the
Montresor family crest and motto (Stepp 447, 449). While his ignorance is not the reason for the
revenge, it lets Poe depict Fortunato s naivety (White 551). Secondly, Fortunato s ego is on display
during the walk to his demise when Fortunato is informed that Luchesi will be the one to get to test
the authenticity of the Amontillado (Poe 209). This information brings out Fortunato s ego. Fortunato

The Development Of Carbon Fibre
The Development of Carbon Fibre in Formula 1. What is carbon fibre? Carbon fibre is an extremely
strong material that is also super lightweight. The material has many uses in engineering and design,
and this case study will discuss the advantages and disadvantages. McLaren first introduced carbon
fibre into chassis construction of the MP4 in 1981. Apart from the cars engine, wheel rims and
gearbox, all twenty two Formula 1 cars that competed in the 2014 season bodies, are made of carbon
fibre. [1] Properties of Carbon fibre. Design technicians and engineers love to use carbon fibre in
manufacturing as it has many desirable properties. First of all is its strength. Carbon fibre is five times
stronger than steel and is twice as stiff [2]. The strands of carbon are lined up parallel to each other
when producing a sheet. For maximum results in strength, the fibres must be parallel with the forces
that will act upon that element, this is to make sure it can withstand the forces going through the
object when in use. Carbon fibre is also very lightweight. This property is a huge advantage in car
production. By using carbon fibre instead of steel in building car components reduces the weight of
the car by 60% [2]. In turn, this reduction in weight cuts the car s fuel consumption by 30% and
reduces greenhouse gases and other emissions by 15%[2]. Below shows a detailed table of the
strength to weight ratio of carbon fibre. Carbon fibre also shows that it is a leading 21st

It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited

The mountains were tall (11,000 feet +) and covered with bright powdery snow. It was like nothing I

sure that no one would be so un sportsman like that they would just drive by us and start shooting. It
had to be obvious that we were stalking that Moose. But just in case, we hurried it up and ran down

Character Analysis Of Daniel KeyesFlowers For Algernon
Humans are human; all people change in one way or the other over the course of certain events. Some
of the changes people experience may cause them to have a sad outlook on certain matters, others may
cause people to have a positive outlook on a matter. Just like all other humans, Charlie, from Daniel
Keyes Flowers For Algernon changes over some time too. His life drastically changes after he gets
surgery to alter his intelligence level. In Daniel Keyes Flowers For Algernon, Charlie becomes a
different person over the course of events. His most significant changes include his mentality towards
certain people and his attitude, and also the sudden regression of his mental health after his surgery.
First off, one of the main changes Charlie faces is his ability to think about other people that he uses to
think where his friends. Friends are one of the defining factors of what a certain person will turn out to
be like, or how they feel about certain matters. Poor friends will give second rate influences and will
most likely ruin a person s life, but good friends will make a person feel happy and support this
person. Charlie is faced with not so great friends in Flowers For Algernon. According to his progress
reports, many of Charlie s friends bully him. Charlie does not know this at certain times during the
book, but the reader does. His friends make fun of him and make him do stupid things. In Progress

Charlie put some brains in. Charlie does not realize it, but Joe Carp is actually making fun of him to
an unacceptable level where sensitive topics such as intelligence are involved. As the book goes on,
Charlie slowly starts to realize that his so called friends were actually just making fun of him and
laugh mainly because he did something goofy.
On the contrary, Charlie is also blessed to have a few great friends and even mere acquaintances in his
life. One of the most significant friends that Charlie makes in Flowers For Algernon, is Miss Kinnian.
Even though the author, Daniel Keyes, never states directly that Miss Kinnian isn t Charlie s friend,

Physics Of Track Essay
Physics Of Track
The speed at which a pendulum swings depends on the length of the pendulum, not on the amount of
weight at the bottom. Your arms and legs are both pendulums. When you swing your arm, your
shoulder is the top of a pendulum and your hand is at the bottom. Therefore, in order to get your
pendulum (either your arms or your legs) to swing faster, you need to shorten them. When you bend
either your arms or legs, you are actually shortening your pendulum because you re moving the center
of gravity towards the top of the pendulum.
There are many different forces acted on a sprinter in track. Wind direction can cause acceleration or
deceleration of the sprinter depending on the direction of wind. Gravity can be an advantage of
disadvantage to sprinters. Although gravity causes friction between the track and the sprinter s feet,
sprinters have adapted to use gravity as an advantage. To do this, the sprinter leans forward. This
allows gravity to work with them as leaning causes gravity to pull the sprinter forward, and make
motion of the legs easier as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hooke s Law states that the deformation of a body is proportional to the force applied on it. Since
there is less elasticity in the collision between the foot and the ground of the runner the athlete must

physics behind it helps the runner be able to specialize their training and techniques to make them

  • 2. Implementing A Performance Management Communication Implementing a Performance Management Communication An effect communication plan is a critical part of performance management. Performance management affects everyone in the organization. It helps employees understand how they are contributing to the organizations goals, what is expected of them, how they are doing, and how they can continue to grow, develop, and add value to the business (Duggan, n.d.). The communication plan describes what the organization wants to accomplish based on the information they provide their employees such as, the objectives and outcomes identified. The communication plan should outline individual responsibilities for everyone that is involved in the performance process. In addition, the communication plan acts as a tool to ensure that everyone has the right information in a timely manner (Duggan, n.d.). Therefore, effectively communicating a performance management plan will ensure that all participants have a clear and complete message, while ensuring that feedback is incorporated into the message (Todericiu, Muscalu, Fraticiu, 2012). Communication Plan An effective communication plan should address the following questions for all employees within the organization. Without an effective plan, the organization can suffer from misunderstandings, lack of information, decrease in performance, and suffer from increased employee turnover. His Parents taught him, everything there is to know, about the game. To his Parents surprise, Kevin was a fast learner and very skilled athlete. One day at school, Kevin had heard about soccer tryouts from his fellow classmate Jason. Hey Kevin, Jason asked, are you trying out? Sure Kevin replied. Are you? Kevin asked? • 4. Public Art in the United Arab Emirates Public art is the art that has been planned to of being staged in public and its usually outdoor, it can be carved sculpture, cast or built or painted. What s special about public art is the way how it is made, the place where it is and what meaning it has behind it. Public art can express community value or describe a cultural related point, and its placed in public for everyone to see. Public art is a reflection of how the artist sees the world and response to his time and space. In this essay, I want to review about how the public art reflects the traditional culture. As an example of public art in the UAE, is the camel caravan. It is a sculpture of a camel that is painted with colorful different shapes. There is several camels caravan located around the place, and each of them has a different unique style. I believe that public art should be reflective of traditional culture. The camel caravan also has a reflection on the cultural side that camels are very common and a known animal in the UAE. Public art strategies help to uncover and enhance the implied identity, the value, the unique meaning and the character of the social and physical form of a community or a society, the community s character and sense of space reflects this identity. The person s sense of space always develops over time while reflecting the shade of his social values around and within the community. The character of a community will be reflected by its cultural narrative space of a place. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Summary of Max Webers The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit... Summary of Max Webers The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism is a study of the relationship between the ethics of ascetic Protestantism and the emergence of the spirit of modern capitalism. Weber argues that the religious ideas of groups such as the Calvinists played a role in creating the capitalistic spirit. Weber first observes a correlation between being Protestant and being involved in business, and declares his intent to explore religion as a potential cause of the modern economic conditions. He argues that the modern spirit of capitalism sees profit as an end in itself, and pursuing profit as virtuous. Weber s goal is to understand the source of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While important, this alone cannot explain the need to pursue profit. One branch of Protestantism, Calvinism, does provide this explanation. Calvinists believe in predestination that God has already determined who is saved and damned. As Calvinism developed, a deep psychological need for clues about whether one was actually saved arose, and Calvinists looked to their success in worldly activity for those clues. Thus, they came to value profit and material success as signs of God s favor. Other religious groups, such as the Pietists, Methodists, and the Baptist sects had similar attitudes to a lesser degree. Weber argues that this new attitude broke down the traditional economic system, paving the way for modern capitalism. However, once capitalism emerged, the Protestant values were no longer necessary, and their ethic took on a life of its own. We are now locked into the spirit of capitalism because it is so useful for modern economic activity. Throughout his book, Weber emphasizes that his account is incomplete. He is not arguing that Protestantism caused the capitalistic spirit, but rather that it was one contributing factor. He also acknowledges that capitalism itself had an impact on the development of the religious ideas. The full story is much more complex than Weber s partial account, and Weber himself constantly reminds his readers about his own limitations. The book itself has an introduction and five chapters. The first three chapters make up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In to the Lighthouse, we can see that Mrs Ramsay is unable to declare her love for her husband, yet both of them knew that she loved him. As Mr Ramsay can be seen as a representation of a typical modernist man, we see that like many other artists of the lost generation, he is constantly plagued with insecurities, constantly seeking reassurance in the brokenness of the fragmented society. In To the Lighthouse, we see that Mrs Ramsay wishes that James and Cam do not grow any older, Oh, but she never wanted James to grow a day older! or Cam either , this is in contrast to W. H. Auden s lullaby when he says, All the dreaded cards foretell, shall be paid, but from this night, not a whisper, not a thought, not a kiss nor look be lost. , that even though it is fate that the lovers will be separated, possibly by death, the author still wants to cherish the moments he can have with his lover, and that he refuses to have any interruptions separating him and his lover till fate parts them. W. H. Auden also writes, Time and fever burn away individual beauty stating that although people may be extremely beautiful, but disease and time decays their beauty and ultimately, everyone has the same ending point. Although the poet and Mrs Ramsay has conflicting attitudes about time and love, both have an ominous feeling of an unavoidable end. Again, Woolf uses a mixture of shifting ... However, in the play Macbeth, Shakespeare associates blood with a variety of different atmospheres. Ideas of guilt, betrayal, and honor are established in this tragedy with the use of this symbolism. • 16. Montresor Hyperbole Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration to make a point. Look at the first paragraph. What phrase used by the narrator is an example of hyperbole? Write down the full sentence that includes the hyperbolic element. Does this line make you more sympathetic or less toward the narrator/murderer? Why? The first line of the story states; The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge. If the narrator did bare one thousand injuries from Fortunato, that would be remarkable, but highly unlikely. I feel more sympathetic towards the character because if he was to see one thousand injuries, then he must have suffered a great deal of pain and embarrassment from Fortunato. Montresor tells us, A wrong unredressed when retribution overtakes its redresser. It is equally unredressed when the avenger fails to make himself felt as such to him who has done the wrong. In your words, explain what this means. Could you help me to understand what this quote means. What is it about Montresor that makes him an especially effective enemy to Fortunato? Give an example from a book you ve read of a film/TV how you ve seen in which this type of villain exists. Montresor is an effective enemy to Fortunato as he knows his weak point, his love for wine. Throughout the story, our narrator claims to be a friend and unaware about the authenticity of the wine he has purchased. As he plays on Fortunato s ego, the ill man is self forced to ... Some people stood with him during difficult times, some didn t ask me what difference their strongest love or hate has made. But, that doesn t make any difference. • 18. Comparing Hegel s And Kierkegaard Hegel s and Kierkegaard s philosophies can be attributed to the Romantic influences of the late eighteenth century. Each were also opposed to their predecessor; aspects of Romanticism were criticized by Hegel, while Kierkegaard had a negative disposition to Hegel s ideas as he deemed them inapplicable to one s personal life. In Sophie s World, Hegel s world spirit is described as the sum of human utterances. In the same context, Kierkegaard s existentialism is described as the only important thing [is] each man s own existence. It is also worth noting, though Kierkegaard rebuked Hegelianism, the man himself was dead a decade before Kierkegaard was thirty years old, so it could not be said the two men were direct contemporaries. Thusly it is seen that Kierkegaard seemed to almost be fixated on discrediting Hegel and the Romantics. Comparisons of such dialectically opposed philosophies are difficult to explore, since one is so critical of the other. However, as mentioned above, both must be credited to the influences of Romanticism. Hegel redefined their world spirit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... College is a step one takes to further their education in the pursuit of having a career. But is that the only reason why someone would really choose to go to college? Choosing to become part of a huge or small community that holds a lot responsibilities is big decision one must think thoroughly about. They must have a purpose behind it for its rare to see someone say I want to go to college just because I want. Louis Menand, an American writer, has addressed this question with the three most common theories as to why someone would decide to go to college. His theories will show the different perspectives upon the arrival of choosing to attend college which will lead to what I find very convincing from them all. We go to college to spend four years of our lives and thousands of money on the school, yet we never ask ourselves why we choose to attend college. Menand developed three reasons as to why people may choose to go to college; meritocratic, democratic, and vocational. These theories arose when asked a simply, yet very intellectual question, Why did we have to buy this book? (Menand pp. 1). Theory one beliefs that only the intelligent ones are able to attend this four year university. The education given in college is help progress the society we live in. Having lived ten years in Sudan and six years in the United Arab Emirates, I have therefore developed very strong concise opinions about both countries. Sudan being located in Africa and the United Arab Emirates located in the Middle East share some similarities and difference which will be shown through talking about each country s tradition, economy and architecture and rituals. I believe the quality of living in the UAE is of higher standards, due to the advancements made in its infrastructure, economy and education. In Sudan there are around 114 languages being spoken there but the most dominant language being Arabic. The official language spoken in the UAE is also Arabic. In current times, novels are simply short stories that have been elaborated on with basic plot elements that attempt to make the story more interesting. Similarly, another critic believes that the morals and peer pressure of a dauntless society are what causes Man to become evil. This evil slowly forces them to progress into hardened ruffians that are forced to resort to a pis aller in order to regain some hope for themselves. Thus, society cannot evolve (Lewes 245). Contrary to what Reeves believes, Critic Moss believes that misfortune is the sole cause of one s faults and that the main theme of the novel is the barrier between those who choose degradation and those who are driven to it (228). Furthermore, the critic Napierkowski believes that the meaning of life is love and that through the love that all people receive, any number of traits can be changed. She explicates that change is extremely relevant in the case of Jean Valjean who is a convict turned upstanding citizen. She also recalls that in the novel Valjean is only transformed due to the love he receives from the Bishop of Digne, who gave Valjean everything that he had (Novels for Students). Reeves, again, also explores the concept that Hugo is trying to prove that humans need to love each other for the world to be a happier place (Masterplots). Thus, through evidence in Les Misérables, the aforementioned themes can easily be proven. As the novel progresses, the two major themes of love altering one s soul and misfortune being ... In an interview with CNN, Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell reported that: Children neurologically are not well suited to deal with extremes of trauma, so when they see this kind of stuff, right now it may look like some the movies they have seen on television. The movement was deeply divided by young and old, upper class and lower class, conservative and radical. The movement focused on means used to strive for equality: lobbying Congress to change laws, publicizing issues like rape and domestic violence through media, and reaching to ordinary women telling them how feminism would benefit them. The start of the 1970 s was the beginning of women taking the reins of emerging media platforms, and using the media as an advantage for protesting and outreach. In the end, Montresor s upbringing in the old money class of the elite has shaped his view of the world. Just as Montresor was constructed to be calm and decisive, Fortunato is portrayed as impulsive and immature. At the beginning of the story, Fortunato is introduced wearing a motley outfit. Fortunato s outfit brilliantly represents his personality and how he is viewed by the aristocratic families of the time (Whatley 56,58). The costume builds the idea in the reader s mind that Fortunato is the exact opposite of Montresor. This opposite effect is shown through many variations throughout the story. First, Fortunato inadvertently insults Montresor when he admits that he has forgotten the Montresor family crest and motto (Stepp 447, 449). While his ignorance is not the reason for the revenge, it lets Poe depict Fortunato s naivety (White 551). • 35. The Development Of Carbon Fibre The Development of Carbon Fibre in Formula 1. What is carbon fibre? Carbon fibre is an extremely strong material that is also super lightweight. The material has many uses in engineering and design, and this case study will discuss the advantages and disadvantages. McLaren first introduced carbon fibre into chassis construction of the MP4 in 1981. Apart from the cars engine, wheel rims and gearbox, all twenty two Formula 1 cars that competed in the 2014 season bodies, are made of carbon fibre. [1] Properties of Carbon fibre. Design technicians and engineers love to use carbon fibre in manufacturing as it has many desirable properties. First of all is its strength. Carbon fibre is five times stronger than steel and is twice as stiff [2]. The strands of carbon are lined up parallel to each other when producing a sheet. For maximum results in strength, the fibres must be parallel with the forces that will act upon that element, this is to make sure it can withstand the forces going through the object when in use. Carbon fibre is also very lightweight. This property is a huge advantage in car production. By using carbon fibre instead of steel in building car components reduces the weight of the car by 60% [2]. In turn, this reduction in weight cuts the car s fuel consumption by 30% and reduces greenhouse gases and other emissions by 15%[2]. Below shows a detailed table of the strength to weight ratio of carbon fibre. Carbon fibre also shows that it is a leading 21st ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Essay on Personal Narrative- Moose Hunt Personal Narrative Moose Hunt It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity, and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the Valley of the Sun and headed for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit. The mountains were tall (11,000 feet +) and covered with bright powdery snow. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. I was eager to set up camp and prepare for our nine day hunt. But, Dad said that we had to drive around and check out all the good places, just to make sure that we were in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, it went nothing like that. First, it was so cold that our alarm did not work. I would never have guessed that I could get ready for a hunt in 15 minutes! Of course, that did not leave time for breakfast, or even coffee for Dad. We still made it to our spot by daybreak. We parked behind some trees about a half mile from our last moose sighting and started stalking closer. We were nearly to the Moose spot when we heard another vehicle coming down the trail behind us. We thought for sure that no one would be so un sportsman like that they would just drive by us and start shooting. It had to be obvious that we were stalking that Moose. But just in case, we hurried it up and ran down the trail. As we turned the corner, we saw the pickup stopped in the middle of the trail and the hunters were below the road glassing and talking loudly. And right across the gulch in front of them was my moose with the cow and calf. Things were just going great! I thought for sure that they were going to shoot my Moose. But my dad wasn t going to let that happen. We ran right by the truck and set up in the nearest spot we could see the Moose. It was a pretty bad position and I was basically laying backward in the middle of a bush trying to get steady. The other hunters were kneeling down and looking through their scopes. My dad could not believe his eyes and all he said was shoot, and make sure you get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Character Analysis Of Daniel KeyesFlowers For Algernon Humans are human; all people change in one way or the other over the course of certain events. Some of the changes people experience may cause them to have a sad outlook on certain matters, others may cause people to have a positive outlook on a matter. Just like all other humans, Charlie, from Daniel Keyes Flowers For Algernon changes over some time too. His life drastically changes after he gets surgery to alter his intelligence level. In Daniel Keyes Flowers For Algernon, Charlie becomes a different person over the course of events. His most significant changes include his mentality towards certain people and his attitude, and also the sudden regression of his mental health after his surgery. First off, one of the main changes Charlie faces is his ability to think about other people that he uses to think where his friends. Friends are one of the defining factors of what a certain person will turn out to be like, or how they feel about certain matters. Poor friends will give second rate influences and will most likely ruin a person s life, but good friends will make a person feel happy and support this person. Charlie is faced with not so great friends in Flowers For Algernon. According to his progress reports, many of Charlie s friends bully him. Charlie does not know this at certain times during the book, but the reader does. His friends make fun of him and make him do stupid things. In Progress Report 8, on March 25, Joe Carp said hey look where Charlie had his operashun what did they do Charlie put some brains in. Charlie does not realize it, but Joe Carp is actually making fun of him to an unacceptable level where sensitive topics such as intelligence are involved. As the book goes on, Charlie slowly starts to realize that his so called friends were actually just making fun of him and laugh mainly because he did something goofy. On the contrary, Charlie is also blessed to have a few great friends and even mere acquaintances in his life. One of the most significant friends that Charlie makes in Flowers For Algernon, is Miss Kinnian. Even though the author, Daniel Keyes, never states directly that Miss Kinnian isn t Charlie s friend, the reader can infer so based on the progression of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Physics Of Track Essay Physics Of Track The speed at which a pendulum swings depends on the length of the pendulum, not on the amount of weight at the bottom. Your arms and legs are both pendulums. When you swing your arm, your shoulder is the top of a pendulum and your hand is at the bottom. Therefore, in order to get your pendulum (either your arms or your legs) to swing faster, you need to shorten them. When you bend either your arms or legs, you are actually shortening your pendulum because you re moving the center of gravity towards the top of the pendulum. There are many different forces acted on a sprinter in track. Wind direction can cause acceleration or deceleration of the sprinter depending on the direction of wind. Gravity can be an advantage of disadvantage to sprinters. Although gravity causes friction between the track and the sprinter s feet, sprinters have adapted to use gravity as an advantage. To do this, the sprinter leans forward. This allows gravity to work with them as leaning causes gravity to pull the sprinter forward, and make motion of the legs easier as ... Since there is less elasticity in the collision between the foot and the ground of the runner the athlete must have a faster leg speed and therefore must have stronger leg muscles. Understanding elasticity and the physics behind it helps the runner be able to specialize their training and techniques to make them more successful. Understanding elasticity and Hooke s Law is important to understanding cross country running and becoming a better runner. Physics not only shows us about the elasticity between the ground and the legs of the runner but also about the elastic collision that is made there. Each time the runner s feet hit the ground an elastic collision is made where momentum is conserved. The runner pushes down on the earth and the earth pushes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Mr Bull Observation A few weeks after my catch at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, I decided that I wanted a Charolais. I shared this with my Ag teacher Mr. Hill and my donor Mr. Ligon. Most of the month of April was spent waiting for Mr. Hill to find a steer in my price range. During the waiting period I spent a lot of time educating myself on steer selection, feeding, halter breaking and grooming. Since I have never been around steer before, I left the selection up to Mr. Hill. Mr. Hill is an expert in determining the structural correctness, definition, balance, set of hock, and frame size. The first order of business was setting up the pin by disinfecting the floor, laying cedar bedding, purchasing feed and water buckets, and hanging a hay stack. With all this done, the pin was ready for my new project. On Monday April 24th, Mr. Hill asked me to meet him at the barn to look at three steer he purchased and decide which one I wanted. As soon as I walked into the barn I knew which one I desired, it was the one and only Charolais in the group! Mr. Hill warned me that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The steer tried to break free on the way to the wash rack but I managed to control him. An hour was spent on grooming him and when I was finished he walked willingly back to his pin. By the end of the first week with Blue he was eating apple slices out of my hand and standing still while I groomed him. I still have much work to do and I m looking forward to the ...
