Business Research Ethics Essay
Business Research Ethics Lorna Goldsmit RES/351 Week 2 When it comes to ethical or moral
codes, companies need to certify that the company as a whole follows the highest standards of
moral codes at all times and for all occasions. In addition, having higher moral standards are
important and necessary in business, as well as times of investigation. For this essay, I will be
reviewing a case where dishonest business examination procedures were performed by a company.
This specific business was unquestionably captivated in immoral research performance. This is a
pharmaceutical corporation that operated with a university professor that supplied the required
research linked to the medication of flu... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The immoral analysis certainly had an effect on the company, the entity and also on the general
public (Zall, Moyer, Dawson Curtis, 2003). The business was able to obtain a large amount of
sponsors and earnings from trading drugs in developed countries. Additionally, Dr. Howard
Johnson was immersed in a moral dilemma. He was not able to truthfully expose the investigation
for enhanced services of inmates in developing countries. Do to this situation; the public was also
unhelpful. With people living in an area succumbed with the flu needed assistance, however,
medicine was not provided or accessible to them causing a large amount of people passing away.
The business in this case should have had processes with the intent of avoiding immoral practice
and taken the information to the public in developing countries. The professor should have also
introduced the required information to reveal the findings of his investigation. Still, the professor
had signed a privacy agreement with the pharmaceutical corporation at which he should have
encouraged the pharmaceutical company to reveal all the statistical information for providing
benefits to the public afflicted by the flu. Had the professor taken a more practical and moral
attitude to disclose his findings, his immoral act could have been avoided. Briefly, companies
around the world should have a certain standard with procedures to guarantee that the company

Ancient Greece s Influence On Modern Day Fashion
Ancient Greece is not just ancient history, there is a relation between ancient Greece to modern
day in several different ways. Few relations are seen in fashion, architecture, and sculpting. To
see ancient Greece still have a relation in the 21st century is remarkable. The hallmark of
ancient Greek fashion was elaborate draping, not much detail and can also see images of Greek
styles painted on pottery. You see in today s clothing the white one shoulder dress for women
which is considered a formal dress, people relate it to the Greek Goddess dress . It flows over on
one side, with usually a gold accent belt to go along with the dress. In addition, there are sandals
that have been in fashion for few years now, called gladiators . The strapped... Show more content

The use of their patterns in pottery, architecture, and furniture, introduced how to decorate anything
in modern day. From paintings, to interior decorating, you see the use of ancient Greek patterns in
the industry. For sculpting, ancient Greece influenced sculpting today by introducing detail to
sculpting. They used marble, stone, limestone, and clay to create their sculptures. That has helped
us create the base of the materials we use today for sculpting and even with architecture. In modern
day architecture, we have almost simplified the way buildings look. Fourunately, ancient Greece
architectural influence is still seen mostly at formal banquet halls today. The columns in entry
ways, usually the capital is either doric or ionic. The interior well detailed with the use of marble
as flooring, and patterns is still seen in modern day architecture. Over all, ancient Greece s
influence is easily spotted today in interior decorating with the furniture and art work. The fashion
will continue to bring the patterns and styles, and will continue to relate it to ancient Greece since
it has been for several years

Susan B Anthony On Women s Rights
As a young woman in the state of West Virginia I have the right to vote, receive a formal
education, and the ability to have a voice. I do not take these rights for granted. Woman started the
privileges I have today. These opportunities began with three outstanding women in our history.
Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks, and Eleanor Roosevelt have been a driving force for women to
have the right to vote, to seek education, and to speak their voice.
Susan B. Anthony, never gave up. In 1905 she met with President Theodore Roosevelt to propose
the right for women to vote. After being rejected she kept standing for her beliefs. One of her
strongest statements was Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing
less. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She never recited a speech but her actions spoke out. In 1955, she was told to move to the back
of the bus due to immigration. Rosa refused to do so. She represented the voice for her people,
that anyone of us can do. She herself once said Each person must live their life as a model for
others. her statue now stands at the capitol for everyone to remember her courageous act.
As one of the most well known first ladies, Eleanor Roosevelt, also took part of a movement. She
believed that anyone male or female should receive quality education. Over all she advocated
equal rights. So many was against the thought, but she stood firm in her dream that all will one day
have a chance. Eleanor stated The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
The amazing people we look back on, opened the door for so many more. I have the right to vote
at the age of eighteen, I am able to receive schooling, and have a say in any matter. Susan B.
Anthony, Rosa Parks, and Eleanor Roosevelt have been a driving force for women. They have
left a positive mark on this country. We should learn to never give up like Susan B. Anthony did.
We should should make a statement like Rosa Parks did. Also, we need to show people the right
path like Eleanor Roosevelt did. My hope for America is that more people like these women will
rise up for their beliefs. These women showed courage. For them I am

High School Dropouts Is An Issue Today s Society
The purpose of this proposal is to let people know that high school dropouts is an issue in today s
society. At the present time, every year 1.2 million students drop out of high school. The average
age that students dropout is between sixteen and twenty four years. Students drop out because of
either personal factors, family factors, and community factors or all of the above. Drop out students
should be encouraged to finish high schoolbecause non graduates fail to succeed in life. First of
all, High school dropouts is an issue occurring since a very long time ago because it has been
proven that many students are unsuccessful after dropping out of high school. As mentioned
before, every year over 1.2 million students drop out of high school. As Richmond mentions, an
estimated 1 million students will fail to graduate this year, a loss of 5,500 students for every day
on the academic calendar (Richmond 1). This is a big quantity of students who will have no
education guidance into their future. Texas is one of the top three states with higher dropoutrates
along with California and Florida. Also, there is no rate difference between genders just that boys
and girls dropout for different reasons. Although, people will say that this issue does not affect them
particularly, these dropout students will affect our economy in the future. As Lynch states, The
financial ramifications of dropping out of high school hurt more than the individual (Lynch par. 6).

John Steinbeck Unfinished Children Of God
The Unfinished Children of God within Of Mice and Men John Steinbeck, the author of Of Mice
and Men uses the theme, unfinished children of God . The novel takes place during the Great
Depression, forcing the characters to work hard to attain their dreams. Steinbeck presented the
characters in a way that made them more personal so readers could discover and comprehend the
characters on their own. George Milton, Lennie Small, and Candy are presented by Steinbeck in a
certain way that leads people to think about the characters and are the greatest examples of the
quote, unfinished children of God , meaning that they are adults that have childish and sophomoric
attributes. George is an unfinished child of God whom Steinbeck... Show more content on

Steinbeck purposely made Candy and his dog similar. Got no teeth, he said. He s all stiff with
rheumatism. He ain t no good to you, Candy. An he ain t no good to himself. Why n t you shoot
him, Candy? (Steinbeck 44). When Candy s dog became old and unserviceable, the dog was
killed. Candy fears that he will be canned because he is also old and somewhat useless. This may
be a potential foreshadowing of what could have happened. After losing his hand to a machine,
he lost hope for all of his dreams, yet he became essential in George and Lennie s dream. Candy s
fear of being fired motivates him to invest in George s plan. Candy is able and willing to cover
the down payment. Candy is excited for the first time in years. Candy went on excitedly, How
much they want for a place like that? (Steinbeck 59). But when Lennie killed Curley s wife,
Candy s dream crumbled as he saw her dead body. Now Candy spoke his biggest fear. You an me

your end of course exam with a 92% to become a 5 level as an Aircraft Structural Maintainer.
However, looking at your hands on training completion date I began to question if you truly

additional duty to you is because I sincerely believe you will excel in this position. This program
requires a very specific structure and the responsibility it carries is very is significant. Handling
chemicals with the right personal protective equipment is crucial to the safety of the personnel
in your section. Based on your team role as an executor, I think you would soar in this additional

Background Of Roy Adaptation Model ( Ram )
Background of Roy Adaptation Model The Roy Adaptation Model (RAM) was developed by
Sister Callista Roy who is still an actively working nursing theorist. Sister Callista Roy, PhD,
RN, FAAN currently holds the position of professor and nursing theorist at Boston College
Connell School of Nursing. Roy held master s degrees in pediatric nursing and sociology at
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and also held doctoral degree in sociology. She
completed post doc in neuroscience at University of California, San Francisco (Boston College
Connell School of Nursing, 2016). Roy is well known and most highly recognized a living nurse
theorist today in world widely. Roy has published RAM in 1970s, and then continuously
collaborated with Dr. Heather Andrews to expand the RAM theory in 1986, 1991, 1999, and
2009 (Roy, 2009). Roy first begun to process RAM when she was studied bachelor science in
nursing at Mount Saint Mary s college in Los Angeles. Roy finally conceptualized and published
her nursing model in 1970s when she pursued the master degree in nursing at UCLA (Butts Rich,
2015). According to Roy (2009), Roy was challenged to develop RAM to define nursing by
professor Dorothy E. Johnson at UCLA, and she believed that the human being is holistic adaptive
system. From fundamental assumption of adaptive system, Roy initially integrated with scientific
idea of Helson s adaptive level theory and von Bertalanffy s system theory. The von Bertalanffy s

Compare The Rate Of Decomposition Of Hydrogen Peroxide Lab...
Background
The decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide can be expressed in this chemical equation:
2H2O2 (l) 2H2O (l) + O2 (g). This process is commonly found in organism as it is a byproduct of
metabolism. An accumulation of hydrogen peroxide is dangerous so as a result the body system
developed a way to speed up this decomposition. Commonly called a catalyst, which speeds up the
reaction. Catalysts may range from enzyme to inorganic catalysts. In this experiment this employ a
heterogeneous catalysis, in which the reactants are in different phase from each other. It is also
important to note that the catalyst is not consumed in the reaction even though they speed up the
reaction.

Did Milgram s Original Experiment Have A Good Design Or...
1. Did Stanley Milgram s original experiment have a good design, or was it flawed?
Stanley Milgram s original six degrees of separation experiment was flawed because it did not
account for key factors that are essential to statistical experimentation. An example of the key
factors that Milgram failed to consider in his experiment is the sampling method. Using a voluntary
response sample Milgram formulated his conclusions. However, as often happens with voluntary
response samples, the experiment s success depended completely on who participated thus skewing
the actual accuracy of the six degrees of separation that Milgram claimed resulted from the the
findings of his original experiment. Furthermore, Milgram s sample method carried over in how he
started the letter trains. Instead of randomly selecting cities from which to start the letter trains,
Milgram started all 60 letters by sending them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Milgram s original data averaged this mythical six intermediaries this fails to justify the
concept for a few reasons. First, in order to draw conclusions from experimental data we must
ensure we have a right sample size. In this experiment drawing conclusions from only two
successful chains is not an accurate representation of the data as the sample size is extremely small
and many of these chains, in fact, failed utterly. Furthermore, Milgram s justification of six degrees
of separation is based on only those people in Wichita which continues the trend of sample size
misuse in this particular Milgram experiment. Since Milgram failed to see the accuracy issues in
his experiment we can definitely conclude his original data does not justify the concept of six
degrees of

A Research On Fixed Income Investing
This research has important implications for Buy and Maintain fixed income investing. While there
are many more attributes to take into account when choosing fixed income securities (multiple
issues per issuer based on tenor, subordination, etc.), each fixed income security has arguably less
idiosyncratic factors driving its return than an equivalent equity security. When building a Buy and
Maintain portfolio that is resilient to various economic environments and stages of the business
cycle, one must therefore draw from the entire global fixed income market; and, the global bond
universe is huge.
But how many issuers are needed to achieve a well diversified
Buy and Maintain portfolio? Given there are over 200 industry sectors, then if the fund manager
chooses five issuers per sector to feel confident of diversifying default risk, the portfolio would need
to hold a minimum of 1,000 issuers in total! Instead, the fund manager should aim to hold a
minimum of 200 issuers to maximize yield and protect against both market risk (through smart
sector and geographic construction) and idiosyncratic risk from any particular issuer (through smart
issuer and issue selection). 14 | Buy and Maintain: A smarter approach to credit portfolio

Wal Mart Makes Slow Progress Navigating Africa s Challenges In 2010, Wal Mart Stores Inc
had invested into South Africa with $2.4 billion on a stake for the company Massmart. The
company went into it fast without knowing too much of what to expect and their result was not
well. Citizens were anticipating lower prices and cheaper goods and said that s not what they

and those that have, very few have succeeded. The phrase AfricaRising was invented because it is

In August 2014, while I was on holidays in a remote region of Mexico called The Rio Sonora

Copper commonly occurs as a pollutant in surface fresh waters and it can be extremely toxic to

Military Service And Civilian Life
Not a lot of people know the actual challenges of what military men and women go through with
their families. Until now, individuals have this misconception that the military life is as ordinary to
any regular civilian life. Many of the common beliefs that people assume about military service
members is he or she; serves their country, go out to war occasionally, and handle constant
deployments easily without a struggle. While this is the case, civilians fail to recognize that military
spouses and children face many obstacles when they are separated from their service member.
The most difficult challenge that many families go through is separated from their service
member during a deployment. Often times, individuals make the mistake that military men and
women only deploy for war. However, military service members have to leave for other military
purposes such as training missions and school. Since 2008, there has been a significant increase
in the number of soldiers who have spent two or more years (25+ months) cumulatively
deployed. (RAND) With the large amount of deployments and separation from military service
members; it can be an emotional roller coaster for spouses and children. Several studies have

The Elements Of The Genre Of Speculative Fiction
Next to being neo slave narratives, Kindred and Beloved, as well as Who Fears Death, are
examples of the genre of Speculative Fiction. This type of literature features supernatural and/or
futuristic elements. Is serves as an umbrella term and includes science fiction, fantasy, literary
fiction, supernatural fiction, horror, dystopia, utopia, (post )apocalyptic and superhero elements, as
well as their combinations (Jackson and Moody Freeman, 127). Hence, in Speculative Fictionthe
action of the story can take place in a culture that never existed, a world we know nothing of, or
an earth that might have been or might be (Shade, 2). In other words, speculative literature
includes all texts that take place in a universe slightly different from our own (Wyatt, 1 2).
Language is not merely descriptive but also functions as a form of word building (Burnett, 137), as
neologisms can be both metaphorical and literal in this genre.
Speculative Fiction ranges back to ancient history and has been pervading humanity from the
beginning. Furby and Hines state that the human has always been a story telling ape (Furby and
Hines, 10), as we get access to the world through the narrative. So called taproot texts, the very

Zen Buddhism And The Zen School
Zen Buddhism originated from Chinese Ch an Buddhism that was transmitted to Japan. The Zen
school was known as one of the many Buddhist religion in Japan. In Japan, Zen is defined as the
buddha mind, ...the ultimate reality, or emptiness, of all things and the enlightened state, or
knowledge of that reality, characteristic of a buddha (Bielefeldt 1995: 198). Zenemphasizes on the
insight into the Buddha nature through seated meditation(zazen), meditation practice, and teacher
sudden interaction. Zazen was understood as an expression of the Buddha nature. Zen Buddhism,
focus on a separate transmission outside scripture, not depend on words or letters, a school based
solely on the teaching of Bodhidharma, which points directly at the person s mind, enabling one to
see his own nature and become a budhha ( Bielefeldt 2002: 5). The teaching of Zen was divided into
two distinct monastic schools: The Northern school (Shen hsiu) and the Southern school (Hui
neng). This paper will show that the difference between the teaching of Gradual and Sudden have
affected the way people traditionally perceive enlightenment through the Northern school and
Southern school of teaching and Shen hui criticism of the Northern school practice.
Buddhism is the teaching of enlightenment and to achieve enlightenment is the reason why people
practice this religion. Enlightenment refers to a singular, intense experience of insight that one has

A Case For Change HTF s IT Project Management Process Standardization
Executive Summary
This document describes the proposal of creating a new EPMO organization within HTF
(Hypothetical Financials) to oversee the standardization of its IT project management processes
including those for software development. HTF s (Hypothetical Financials) different LOBs
currently follow various flavors of SDLC models for software development and project management

However, currently the firm lacks standard processes around development and project
management. Each line of business has its own proprietary or derived methodologies built on
top of the Waterfall model. There s not an official standard at firm level nor there s an EMPO
like organization responsible for standardization. The level of maturity in the project
management process is different too across different LOBs. For example, some LOBs requires
project managers to write business cases (BC) and go through approval processes before a
project can be created inside a project management system. Some LOBs do not or simply
adopted manual process in the approval of business cases. That means that the business case are
not required to be entered in the BC system. Some LOBs have standard project template for PMs
to use and others do not. Another example of varied maturity is around the artifact/document
management. Different tools are used for documents (e.g. requirements and design documents).
Some LOBs are using Microsoft SharePoint as a central repository but some simply use a
network drive. Developers also follow different processes in managing source code. Some use
standard tools such as Subversion to manage source code and following the best practices, some
simply keeps their source code on the development servers.
As a global financial organization, HTF s various lines of businesses (LOB) have been operating in
a very independent way. Each LOB also

A successful society is not a one man job , it takes time and organization. In the novel, Animal
Farm, written by George Orwell, is depicted as a dystopian society. A utopia is a perfect world,
and a dystopia is the complete opposite. In the novel, Napoleon builds a world that is not the
worst it could be, but for the animals, it is as bad as it could get. Animal Farm is not a utopian
society because there is always one animal that is more superior than another, in this case it s
mainly Napoleon. This novel represents a dystopian society by how Napoleon runs the farm. The

There were specific animals that were more of a leader than others, which made them more

what it takes to create a successful society. Each of the characteristics that portrayed with the

Outside The Box Thinker
Christopher Columbus, whom was born in 1451 in Geno, Italy, became to be known among
history s greatest explorers . He was a son of a weaver and started sailing as a teenager. In the
year 1492, he set off to begin his first voyage to establish an oceanic trade route between Europe
and the Eastern Indies. However, instead of reaching any Asian countries he had landed in a
place that he called San Salvador . Nonetheless by the end of his sailing career, he had
accomplished 4 voyages to establish a settlement across the Atlantic Ocean and sailed to various
other parts of the globe establishing territory for the Crown of Castille. I believe Columbus is a

Cost Of Technology
The Cost of Information One s environmental conditions are what condition their personality,
attitude, and intelligence. In today s world, people have adapted to the world of the technology, a
world where endless amounts of information can be accessed through smartphones. However, does
that make people who regularly use smartphones smarter? Not necessarily. There are several
negative effects of using technology on human intelligence, such as deteriorating higher order

time period was regarded as a time of excitement and prosperity concerning the fads, fashions, and

the Roaring Twenties can also be seen as a time of positive change due to a variety of factors such
as Canadas developing autonomy and political relationship with Britain, pushing Canada to become
an independent nation. Another factor would be the Canadian industries and economy that

The Consequences Of The Goose Girl, A Fairy Tale
Goose Girl is a fairy tale collected by the Grimm brothers who s story line is about a young
Princess arranged for a marriage with a far away prince, and is deceived from her title on her
way to her bridegroom. Deceived and over powered by her waiting woman, the Princess shows
development, but our dreamer for this analysis is the waiting woman. Fairy tales are all about
embracing birth rights, and this is exactly what the waiting woman is deviant about: she broke
from the system and tries to work her way up a class that she is not born into. The waiting
woman struggles with her individuation, the process of accepting the daily events. Through
this analysis, the consequences of not accepting the life you are born to live will serve as an
example of a deeper evil. First, to begin this analysis, the archetypes are to be assigned. We will
start with the shadow, represented by the Princess. Accordingly, this is a same sex character that
at first embodies the elements a waiting woman should have: quiet, submissive, and compliant
because she had to give away and let it be as [the waiting woman] said (583). The Princess
carries the qualities that are considered to be expected of a waiting woman. The opposite sex
character that represents the animus in the waiting woman s story is the horse, Falada. The
horse noticed and remembered the acts the waiting woman commits, so she later on tries to get
rid of the horse, who later develops the story in an indirect way (583). The waiting woman s self
is represented by the casket dragged by horses idea she pitched in for the King. Her refusal to
become who she was intended to be led her to declaring her own fate. Moreover, to explain these
labels, the important events relevant to the development of the waiting woman should be
recognized and explained. The waiting woman is first set on her journey to fulfill her duties
beside the Princess after mounting their respective horses. On both occasions that the Princes has
been thirsty, the waiting woman declares I will not be your slave. If you want a drink, you may
get it yourself; I am not going to be your slave (582). To this, the Princess does not respond; the
second time around, as she bends to drink her water, she looses

With evolving technologies and digital innovation, mobile e commerce is rapidly growing. Mobile
devices, especially smartphones, have revolutionized the online shopping experience with time and
seems like it s just the beginning to the frontier.
M commerce is shopping through a mobile device smartphones or tablets. This experience is
becoming a habit for many consumers. According to a study among 1,000 US merchants, 16% of
them already have an established mobile shopping channel and 32% of them are on strategic phase
to start selling products through mobile within a year (Meola, 2016).
The mobile shopping is expected to grow bigger and bigger. As per the US Census Bureau and
comScore, in 2014, m commerce was 11.6% of the $303 billion USA e commerce total and
estimated to increase to 45% of the total e commerce value by 2020 (Meola, 2016).A large market
share with potential to grow into a billion dollars
Industry and constant technological advancements in Android and iOS operating systems will
transform m commerce very soon. This makes it critical to evaluate this EC initiative and obtain a
more holistic picture about shopping from a touch of a button.

Essay on Common Sense
One of the most fundamental people in the push for American Independence, Thomas Paine offers
much advice in both Common Sense, and The Crisis. Paine offers very strong arguments in
Common Sense, which are supported by his own reason, his sensibility, his common sense and by
his ability to draw inference from what has already happened. Paine uses every element in his
ability to help give more depth to his arguments and plans. However, of all the cases Thomas Paine
makes in Common Sense, the ultimate goal of Paine is to incite the American Public to make a
stand against British tyranny, and break from Britain altogether, and become independent.

Paine reasons revolution is justified by the lack of other means, and his only option left to
suggest is to fight for independence. Throughout Common Sense, Thomas Paine shows that he
is against Monarchical government, and he says that the government type itself is not a
reasonable means of ruling a nation. To support this, he sheds light on several reasons in which
a monarchy is a bad choice for government. Paine says that all the power is unbalanced and
vested in the hands of a single person, which most of the time leads to the King of the nation
using the powers he has, against his people, for the benefit of himself, and those around him.
Paine also says that to have hereditary succession of a monarch is complete nonsense. Paine
uses his reason to support this case by showing that maybe a nation is lucky and has a well fit
ruler as a King, but who is to say the King s successor will be best fit for the position of King or
Queen of a country. The notion that one ruler is fair and just, does NOT guarantee that the
successor will be as just or as fair. In addition to a just cause, America is fighting with a few key
advantages. While the British have a bigger Army and a Navy as well, America would be fighting
on its own soil. To add to that, Britain also has about 6 months worth of sailing between her home
country and the colonies themselves. Another plus side for the colonies is that they could fight
Britain just as well, even with a

A Voice Of Music Of The Classic And Romantic Eras

22 November, 2014 A Voice in Music: The Messages in Music of the Classic and Romantic Eras
Many aspects of the way people lived have changed between the times of the Romantic era and the
Classic era. Music and the Enlightenment were very big helps to this major change between eras
and in the way the world worked and how society functioned. The Enlightenment and the curiosity
of man was the cause of the exploration and discovery of new lands all around the world. These
historical landmarks were never forgotten due to the evidence being put into the literature and
musical compositions that were written at the time. These stories, songs, and operas contain hidden
messages and aspects in the music, such as certain rhythms and dynamics, that specifically refer
directly to the eras stated previously. Artists like Mozart and Haydn, and composers of operalike
Giuseppe Verdi, all have contributed to putting details of the events of the time period into their
works. These genius designers have succeeded in displaying the Romantic and Classic eras in
their music. Giuseppe Verdi was one of the greatest and most famous opera composers to live
during the Romantic era. His operas, which take place in Italy, perfectly painted a clear
description of the events and social life of the time period in which his musical pieces were
written. His two most most known operas were La Traviata and Rigoletto. La Traviata follows a

The Right to Die
Analysis The right to die has been brought to the media and public spotlight through the cases of
Karen Ann Quinlan, Cruzan v. Missouri, and Vacco v. Quill. This issue has been the topic of
heated debate for years in the religious, scientific, and political community. This is because this
topic ties into many communities and effects a large amount of people. These cases brought the
right to diedebate to the religious community. The reason for this is from the use of life support
which many believe should not be used at all because people should die naturally as they believe
god intended. This belief also ties into the matter of physician assisted suicide brought up in the
Vacco v. Quill case, one should not be given a lethal dose of drugs and should die naturally. The
publics opinion on the right to die has a drastic range, due to the fact this matter spans all groups of
people. A popular opinion from the public is that the government has no right to decide whether
someone can or cannot end their lives, pertaining to the case of Vacco v. Quill and euthanasia
. This
statement is a very true one, why should the government be involved in the death of a free person?
This may be the case for euthanasia, but there is another factor in the right to die debate. That other
factor is removing one from life support. This issue is brought up in both the case of Karen Ann
Quinlanand in the case of Cruzan v. Missouri. It is illegal to remove a patient from life support

The Importance Of The Youth Justice System
This essay will introduce the youth justice system within England and Wales. The essay will
highlight key pieces of youth justice legislation and it will comment on how they affect practice.
The principles of the system will be presented and discussed before it is argued that one principle
has precedence over the others. There will be use of a case study in which to express the ideology
that one principle should be the precedence of the youth justice system.
The youth justice system deals with young people under 18 years of age who break the law. The
Youth Justice Board for England and Wales (YJB) is a public body developed under Section 41 of
the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to oversee the youth justice system for England and Wales (Youth
Justice Board for England and Wales, 2016). The Youth Justice System carry out the processes for
prosecution, conviction and punishment. Within the youth justice system, there are extensive
considerations made when young people offend. These considerations can be thought to be
principles, which are the fundamental base of something (Oxford Dictionary, 2016), in this case,
the criminal justice system. The principles include (although are not limited to) risk assessment,
public protection, punishment, rehabilitation, justice and welfare. The prime focus of this essay
will be to determine whether justice or welfare should take precedence when responding to young
people who break the law.
A punishment is the infliction of an undesirable or unpleasant outcome upon an individual or group
because they have done wrong. Punishments are administered with the notion that a wrongdoing
can be corrected (Frase, 2011). Throughout the 17 and 18th century the legal system in Britain was
incredibly harsh, disposing death penalties for often minor offences, the intention of this was
general deterrence to discourage individuals from committing crime. There were great structural
insufficiencies in the justice system and due to it being so punitive, juries were hesitant in
finding people guilty of offences (Bentley, 1998). This era became known as The Bloody Code .
During The Bloody Code , prison ships were introduced to separate young people from adults.
They were criticised for their

Emergent Literacy Stages
There are six major stages of reading development; emergent literacy (six months old to six years

Theme Of Love In Shakespeare s Sonnets
Shakespeare, who wrote the sonnets in 1609, expresses his own feelings through his greatest
work of literature. The theme of love in the poems reflect thoughts from the Renaissance period.
Love is one of many components of Shakespeare s life shown in the sonnets. Love can be defined
in many ways other than a strong affection for a lover. In Shakespeare s sonnets, the concept of love
can be seen through many uncommon means such as the love of life before death in Sonnet73, love
in marriagein Sonnet 116, love through sexual desire in Sonnet 129, and love through nature in
Sonnet 130, proving that love can be expressed through many different feelings and emotions.
In Sonnet 73 , Shakespeare shows the reader how love is portrayed before death. Sonnet 73
portrays a man s old age and approaching death. The process in which the poem flows helps to
describe the man. It narrows down from year to day to show proximity of when the man will
one day leave his lover (Hammond 137 138). For example, Shakespeare shows the reader how
love is tested by time, but the man shows no weakness: This thou perceiv st, which makes thy
love more strong, To love that well which thou must leave ere long (Hammond 137). The man
knows he is dying soon and will never see the young man again. His love intensifies for the young
man. Also, Shakespeare gives the reader comparisons to the time of day and seasons to show how
the love was portrayed:
The poem opens by stating that his lover must behold him at the time of life corresponding to late
autumn, when almost no leaves remain on the trees and the birds have flown south. The poet s
calling attention to his old age might seem incongruous, since many lovers might try to hide the
fact from their companions. Yet, in this relationship, William Shakespeare not only is being
forthright but also seems to be seeking the sympathy of his dear friend. (Lord 3569)
The whole first part of the poem shifts in the time of year, and in the final couplet of Shakespeare
s work, it requests that his friend should love stronger because of the decreasing time the man has
left on earth. A separation will occur when the man dies, and the lover will have to leave him. The
man s realization of

acting out, being emotionally dysregulated, having eating or sleep disturbances, brooding or
withdrawing, being restless or unable to be still, taking on too much responsibility or
developmentally, emotionally and physically, regressing (Bugge, Darbyshire, RГёkholt,
Haugstvedt, Helseth, 2014). The child who witnesses a death may be afraid they or another
family member will die in the same way. They may also be actively avoiding painful memories or
suppressing their needs being afraid to cause more trouble (Bugge, et al., 2014). The process of
grieving is complicated by the tasks of the developmental stage that child is going through, the
relationship with the deceased, their coping skills including support systems, and the circumstances
of the death (Slyter, 2012). She is in Erikson s stage of Industry versus Inferiority, so the clinician
might see her express the thought that she has done something wrong that caused her mother s
death. The father, although he can express his griefmore directly, may find that he has conflicting
feelings about processing his grief and simultaneously attending to his daughter s needs. He may
go through the five stages of grief as proposed by Kubler Ross (Corr, 2015). These stages include
denial, or shock; anger; bargaining; depression; and acceptance, or moving forward. These stages
may occur in any order, or not at all. They can also

Impact Of Natural Resources On Economic Growth
QUESTION 9
Natural resource and its effect on economic growth and dynamics of conflicts.
1.0 Introduction
Natural resources are raw materials extracted from the earth. They are useful in many different
ways for its diversified opportunity of benefit and profit for economic development. Examples of
natural resources are mineral, oil, waterways, land, timber, diamonds, coals, coltan and genetic.
Majority of developing countries, distributions of natural resources vary from one geographic
location to another. The variability of location has caused greed and grievances in economic
development. This was attributed to more risk of conflict, weak governance, and poor economic
performance.
2.0 Effect of natural resources on economic growth.
According to Collier and Hoeffer (2003), there are three major factors that depend on the primary
commodity exports such as income per capita, rate of economic growth, and structure of the
economy, the higher the rate of primary commodities exports the higher the level of risk of conflict.
Developing countries that are dependent on natural resources are more liable to terms of trade
shocks, which leads to instability and dissatisfaction within the groups that suffer the shocks. Since
natural resources are wealth and unevenly distributed causes the rebel groups ventures in various
forms of extortion, exploitation, and trade of primary commodity. The best known types of conflict
are the diamond of Angola and

generation with technology In Marc Prensky article, Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Do you
think that technology has already introduced to the world? There are many people using the
technology, but some people don t use it because of their age. It was published to the Horizon
(MCB University Press, Vol. 9 No. 5, October 2001) who was written by Marc Prensky. She
described the different between the old generation and the new one; also she mentioned about hoe
the technology is affecting people especially the new generation. Also, people with different
generation have different things, as their style, slang clothes, body and adornments. So people
changed from each generation; however, students have not changed incrementally from the old
generation style, slang and clothes. These days, the technology has changed our life, and the new
generation raised up with the technology, so they use to it. However, some of the old generation

Symbols and Symbolism
Flowers as a Symbol in The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck
In romantic or sexual context, a woman is often said to be as beautiful as a flower. In John
Steinbeck s short story The Chrysanthemums , Elisa Allen never receives this recognition.
Although she is a strong woman, she is frustrated because her husband will not admire her
romantically in any way. This frustration only deepens because she is childless and feels the need
to be a mother. She discovers an outlet for her frustration in a flower garden where she cultivates
beautiful chrysanthemums. Steinbeck uses these elegant flowers as a symbol to represent the
tender, inner self of all women, including Elisa.
First, the chrysanthemums symbolize Elisa s children. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The chrysanthemums are symbolic of her children, and she is very proud of them. When Elisa s
husband compliments her on her flowers, she is proud, and on her face there [is] a little
smugness (240). She is happy and pleased by her ability to nurture these beautiful flowers. Elisa s
pride in her ability to grow such beautiful flowers reinforces the fact that the flowers are a
replacement for her children.
In the second part of the story, the chrysanthemums come to symbolize
Elisa s femininity and sexuality. The portrait of Elisa caring for the flowers as though they are her
children is clearly a feminine image, but her masculine image is also observed in her hard swept
and hard polished home
(240). This image is carried over into her relationship with her husband.
Elisa feels that Henry doesn t recognize or appreciate her femininity, and this feeling causes her to
be antagonistic towards him. There is an undercurrent of resentment towards her husband. Henry
fails to see his short comings, but Elisa fails to point them out to him. There is a distinct lack of
harmony between them, which causes Elisa to become discontented with
Henry. On observing her prize flowers, all Henry can say is, I wish you d work out in the orchard
and raise some apples that big (240). Henry s inability to understand Elisa s needs leaves her
vulnerable in her encounter with the tinker. The meeting with the tinker

Personal Response To Bessie
I feel the same way Bessie did when she said she didn t understand why she would would hear
these white people were doing such terrible things to black people. See i m known for being a
flower child, advocating love even if means rebelling against what society wants, I view all lives
as equal and I dont discriminate for someone s race, gender, sexualtiy, their background, etc..
Thats not to say I didn t grow up hearing about it like bessie did, and like Bessie, I still hear it
today. I ve just always viewed it as ridiculous to think someone was inferior for something they
were born into or something they want.
Sadie brought up how she was a little to sheltered, causing her to be afraid of men. I can t say I don
t agree with her in some ways.

  • 29. The Consequences Of The Goose Girl, A Fairy Tale Goose Girl is a fairy tale collected by the Grimm brothers who s story line is about a young Princess arranged for a marriage with a far away prince, and is deceived from her title on her way to her bridegroom. Deceived and over powered by her waiting woman, the Princess shows development, but our dreamer for this analysis is the waiting woman. Fairy tales are all about embracing birth rights, and this is exactly what the waiting woman is deviant about: she broke from the system and tries to work her way up a class that she is not born into. The waiting woman struggles with her individuation, the process of accepting the daily events. Through this analysis, the consequences of not accepting the life you are born to live will serve as an example of a deeper evil. First, to begin this analysis, the archetypes are to be assigned. We will start with the shadow, represented by the Princess. Accordingly, this is a same sex character that at first embodies the elements a waiting woman should have: quiet, submissive, and compliant because she had to give away and let it be as [the waiting woman] said (583). The Princess carries the qualities that are considered to be expected of a waiting woman. The opposite sex character that represents the animus in the waiting woman s story is the horse, Falada. The horse noticed and remembered the acts the waiting woman commits, so she later on tries to get rid of the horse, who later develops the story in an indirect way (583). The waiting woman s self is represented by the casket dragged by horses idea she pitched in for the King. Her refusal to become who she was intended to be led her to declaring her own fate. Moreover, to explain these labels, the important events relevant to the development of the waiting woman should be recognized and explained. The waiting woman is first set on her journey to fulfill her duties beside the Princess after mounting their respective horses. On both occasions that the Princes has been thirsty, the waiting woman declares I will not be your slave. If you want a drink, you may get it yourself; I am not going to be your slave (582). Paine reasons revolution is justified by the lack of other means, and his only option left to suggest is to fight for independence. Throughout Common Sense, Thomas Paine shows that he is against Monarchical government, and he says that the government type itself is not a reasonable means of ruling a nation. To support this, he sheds light on several reasons in which a monarchy is a bad choice for government. Paine says that all the power is unbalanced and vested in the hands of a single person, which most of the time leads to the King of the nation using the powers he has, against his people, for the benefit of himself, and those around him. Paine also says that to have hereditary succession of a monarch is complete nonsense. Paine uses his reason to support this case by showing that maybe a nation is lucky and has a well fit ruler as a King, but who is to say the King s successor will be best fit for the position of King or Queen of a country. The notion that one ruler is fair and just, does NOT guarantee that the successor will be as just or as fair. In addition to a just cause, America is fighting with a few key advantages. While the British have a bigger Army and a Navy as well, America would be fighting on its own soil. To add to that, Britain also has about 6 months worth of sailing between her home country and the colonies themselves. • 37. The Right to Die Analysis The right to die has been brought to the media and public spotlight through the cases of Karen Ann Quinlan, Cruzan v. Missouri, and Vacco v. Quill. This issue has been the topic of heated debate for years in the religious, scientific, and political community. This is because this topic ties into many communities and effects a large amount of people. These cases brought the right to diedebate to the religious community. The reason for this is from the use of life support which many believe should not be used at all because people should die naturally as they believe god intended. This belief also ties into the matter of physician assisted suicide brought up in the Vacco v. Quill case, one should not be given a lethal dose of drugs and should die naturally. The publics opinion on the right to die has a drastic range, due to the fact this matter spans all groups of people. A popular opinion from the public is that the government has no right to decide whether someone can or cannot end their lives, pertaining to the case of Vacco v. Quill and euthanasia . This statement is a very true one, why should the government be involved in the death of a free person? This may be the case for euthanasia, but there is another factor in the right to die debate. • 38. The Importance Of The Youth Justice System This essay will introduce the youth justice system within England and Wales. The essay will highlight key pieces of youth justice legislation and it will comment on how they affect practice. The principles of the system will be presented and discussed before it is argued that one principle has precedence over the others. There will be use of a case study in which to express the ideology that one principle should be the precedence of the youth justice system. The youth justice system deals with young people under 18 years of age who break the law. The Youth Justice Board for England and Wales (YJB) is a public body developed under Section 41 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to oversee the youth justice system for England and Wales (Youth Justice Board for England and Wales, 2016). The Youth Justice System carry out the processes for prosecution, conviction and punishment. Within the youth justice system, there are extensive considerations made when young people offend. These considerations can be thought to be principles, which are the fundamental base of something (Oxford Dictionary, 2016), in this case, the criminal justice system. The principles include (although are not limited to) risk assessment, public protection, punishment, rehabilitation, justice and welfare. The prime focus of this essay will be to determine whether justice or welfare should take precedence when responding to young people who break the law. A punishment is the infliction of an undesirable or unpleasant outcome upon an individual or group because they have done wrong. Punishments are administered with the notion that a wrongdoing can be corrected (Frase, 2011). Throughout the 17 and 18th century the legal system in Britain was incredibly harsh, disposing death penalties for often minor offences, the intention of this was general deterrence to discourage individuals from committing crime. There were great structural insufficiencies in the justice system and due to it being so punitive, juries were hesitant in finding people guilty of offences (Bentley, 1998). This era became known as The Bloody Code . During The Bloody Code , prison ships were introduced to separate young people from adults. They were criticised for their ... • 42. Theme Of Love In Shakespeare s Sonnets Shakespeare, who wrote the sonnets in 1609, expresses his own feelings through his greatest work of literature. The theme of love in the poems reflect thoughts from the Renaissance period. Love is one of many components of Shakespeare s life shown in the sonnets. Love can be defined in many ways other than a strong affection for a lover. In Shakespeare s sonnets, the concept of love can be seen through many uncommon means such as the love of life before death in Sonnet73, love in marriagein Sonnet 116, love through sexual desire in Sonnet 129, and love through nature in Sonnet 130, proving that love can be expressed through many different feelings and emotions. In Sonnet 73 , Shakespeare shows the reader how love is portrayed before death. Sonnet 73 portrays a man s old age and approaching death. The process in which the poem flows helps to describe the man. It narrows down from year to day to show proximity of when the man will one day leave his lover (Hammond 137 138). For example, Shakespeare shows the reader how love is tested by time, but the man shows no weakness: This thou perceiv st, which makes thy love more strong, To love that well which thou must leave ere long (Hammond 137). The man knows he is dying soon and will never see the young man again. His love intensifies for the young man. Also, Shakespeare gives the reader comparisons to the time of day and seasons to show how the love was portrayed: The poem opens by stating that his lover must behold him at the time of life corresponding to late autumn, when almost no leaves remain on the trees and the birds have flown south. The poet s calling attention to his old age might seem incongruous, since many lovers might try to hide the fact from their companions. Yet, in this relationship, William Shakespeare not only is being forthright but also seems to be seeking the sympathy of his dear friend. (Lord 3569) The whole first part of the poem shifts in the time of year, and in the final couplet of Shakespeare s work, it requests that his friend should love stronger because of the decreasing time the man has left on earth. A separation will occur when the man dies, and the lover will have to leave him. The man s realization of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Impact Of Natural Resources On Economic Growth QUESTION 9 Natural resource and its effect on economic growth and dynamics of conflicts. 1.0 Introduction Natural resources are raw materials extracted from the earth. They are useful in many different ways for its diversified opportunity of benefit and profit for economic development. Examples of natural resources are mineral, oil, waterways, land, timber, diamonds, coals, coltan and genetic. Majority of developing countries, distributions of natural resources vary from one geographic location to another. The variability of location has caused greed and grievances in economic development. This was attributed to more risk of conflict, weak governance, and poor economic performance. 2.0 Effect of natural resources on economic growth. According to Collier and Hoeffer (2003), there are three major factors that depend on the primary commodity exports such as income per capita, rate of economic growth, and structure of the economy, the higher the rate of primary commodities exports the higher the level of risk of conflict. • 47. Symbols and Symbolism Flowers as a Symbol in The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck In romantic or sexual context, a woman is often said to be as beautiful as a flower. When Elisa s husband compliments her on her flowers, she is proud, and on her face there [is] a little smugness (240). She is happy and pleased by her ability to nurture these beautiful flowers. Elisa s pride in her ability to grow such beautiful flowers reinforces the fact that the flowers are a replacement for her children. In the second part of the story, the chrysanthemums come to symbolize Elisa s femininity and sexuality. There is a distinct lack of harmony between them, which causes Elisa to become discontented with Henry. On observing her prize flowers, all Henry can say is, I wish you d work out in the orchard and raise some apples that big (240). Henry s inability to understand Elisa s needs leaves her vulnerable in her encounter with the tinker. The meeting with the tinker ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Personal Response To Bessie I feel the same way Bessie did when she said she didn t understand why she would would hear these white people were doing such terrible things to black people. See i m known for being a flower child, advocating love even if means rebelling against what society wants, I view all lives as equal and I dont discriminate for someone s race, gender, sexualtiy, their background, etc.. Thats not to say I didn t grow up hearing about it like bessie did, and like Bessie, I still hear it today. I ve just always viewed it as ridiculous to think someone was inferior for something they were born into or something they want. Sadie brought up how she was a little to sheltered, causing her to be afraid of men. I can t say I don t agree with her in some ways. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
