Explain The Five Key Points Made By The Speaker
1) What are 5 key points made by the speaker? Write a short paragraph for each one The first key point that the
author made is that there is a lot of people in the world that are non informed about what was going on in the world.
He says that people tends to think that things are becoming worst or didn t change which is not true. He said that
there is a need to communicate because the data of what happening in the world is well aware. He compares the life
expectancy and fertility rate of many countries since 1960. He found out that they is a lot of countries that have
improved in term of life expectancy. As example China and India has improved and are moving toward better health
care and small families like develop countries. He also compared the income distribution in the world and found out
that there wasn t a gap between rich and poor anymore and that there were a lot of countries that were in the middle
and had 24% of the income. Looking at the graph, the actual distribution was mounded shaped while it used to be a
bump. He shows that it is dangerous to use average data because there is a lot of differences between countries and
that policy makers have to take that into consideration while designing the laws for one region. He thinks that data
should be used more often and that organization should be will willing to release these information s and make it
available to the rest of the world. 2) Read the power point posted on Canvas entitled Politics in the developing

Bullying Vs Cyberbullying
School Officials Vs Cyberbullying Cyberbullying is one of the world s major causes of teen depression and suicide,
stating that 42% kids been bullied while online (Cushing). Although due to this increase with devices, such as phones
and computers, people tend to cyberbully since it s the easiest way to gain the victim. Cyberbullying is an act of
bullying through devices, threatening or humiliating the victim that is being communicated to. This causes harm to
those who fall victim, around twenty percent of these victims tend to think of suicide, and one of ten often commit
the act. Due to cyberbullying, school officials should help stand for those deteriorating as a victim, this will then help
prevent suicidal acts, suppress depression, and help improve teens to be more cooperative with others in the same
situations. Cyberbullying since then became a national problem. Although if school officials take part in helping out
with teens, this will prevent suicidal acts among the students. Counseling, just on its own, can help prevent these
suicidal thoughts. Due to their careers counselors tend to know how to handle many situations amongst students
including that of cyberbullying. By doing their jobs, counselors can not only go to the student being bullied, but
engage the students who tend to imply the bullying. This creates programs that ll help the communities to help one
another in these situations. With programs being constructed this will benefit the way society will

Trophic Interactions Of Animals Essay
2. Describe 2 trophic interactions of an organism from the area studied.
An example of a trophic interaction includes parasitism, which is a relationship that involves a harmful organism
living on another organism, and is presented by the galls ( plant tumours ) on the Grey Mangrove. The formation of a
gall is initiated when an insect feeds on a plant or dominates the tissue of a plant and lays eggs there. The eggs will
grow within the leaves, which they will eventually devour. These abnormal growths of plant tissue are a response to
irritation or harm of the plant and it may slow down the photosynthesis process and may make the Grey Mangrove
die.
Another example includes mutualism, where both species benefit from the relationship. Mutualism ... Show more

4. Identify and describe in detail 2 adaptations of 1 named Australian mangrove animal. (E.g. mud whelk or soldier
crab) from Minnamurra.
Sydney Mud whelks (Pyrazus ebeninus) are classified as Gastropods and are large snails with a long, brown, spiral
shell, which can be up to 9cms long, that feed on detritus and are found in loose sandy/muddy flats such as around
the mangroves in Minnamurra.
Adaptations of the Sydney mud whelk:
Mud whelks have a big muscular foot which is mandatory for holding their prey captive and also enables them to
move through and attach itself to surfaces and survive the mudflat sediment which consists of sand, silt, mud and
organic matter.
They have a strong, hard shell to protect them from predators, and their shell also does not allow moisture to seep in.
Its shell also reduces water loss from evaporation. Camouflage is also possible due to their lightly coloured spiral

Cheating Is Defined As An Act Of Dishonesty
What comes to mind when hearing the word cheat ? According to Merriam Webster, Cheating is defined as an act of
dishonesty in order to gain an advantage (Webster, 2015). Society seems to encourage that people should do
whatever it takes to win or succeed. This method has been recycled through any type of accomplishment from
politics to performances. The three main areas that people are susceptible to cheat in are athletics, academics, and
intimate relationships.
There are several ways to cheat in sports especially as a group. Athletes habitually do whatever it takes to succeed in
competition. For some athletes, one form of cheating is to take drugs that are meant to enhance their performance,
such as steroids. Steroids are synthetic testosterone like drugs that are taken to form muscle, heighten performance,
and transform appearance. Steroids give a competitive advantage (Aschwanden, 2012). These might make a track
runner sprint at a higher speed or a pitcher throw with more power input. There are several real world examples of
cheating in sports. For example, Patriots Safety Rodney Harrison was called out on suspension for taking illegal
substances (Burton, 2015). My hypothesis is that cheating in sports is not encouraged by a desire to win, but by
wanting to be thought or known by others as having won versus actually learning the craft. It is believed that what
others believe is accurate and3 more essential than what is actually ethically correct. Athletes do not

CISSP Exam Notes Physical Security
1. Introduction
1.1 Physical security addresses the physical protection of the resources of an organization, which include people,
data, facilities, equipment, systems, etc. It concerns with people safety, how people can physically enter an
environment and how the environmental issues affect equipment and systems. People safety always takes precedence
over the other security factors.
1.2 Physical security is the first line of defense.
1.3 Major sources of physical security threats are:
Ÿ Weather, e.g. temperature, humidity, water, flood, wind, snow, lightening, etc.

The Effect Of The Slat System Essay
In order to gauge any effects the slat system, with various weights, may have on the shock wave, several baseline
tests were run. These tests did not have the device installed in order to record and understand the basic performance
of a shock wave coming straight from the shock tube. To record the pressure profile of the wave within the expansion
section, GageScope was used. A trigger was set to detect a rapid rise in voltage from the pressure transducer, and the
program would record 1ms before and 10ms after the trigger. The initial baseline test can be seen in Figure X below.
For a greater focus on the effects of the device on the shock wave, all charts for comparison has been narrowed to
2ms after the trigger. The two significant runs showing the pressure profile of the shock wave are shown in Figures X
Y.
Figure x: Baseline Test 1 Full Recording
Figure x: Baseline Test 1 2ms Recording
Figure x: Baseline Test 2
These figures show that the pressure rises from atmospheric (0mV) to peak pressure in a rise time of around
0.000039 seconds, or 39 µs. This is representative of a shock wave due to a nearly instantaneous rise time. Baseline
test 1 burst at 51 psi while baseline test 2 burst at 53 psi.
The initial design did not perform effectively at achieving its intended functions when installed and tested with the
shock tube. Upon firing the shock tube, the slats would not rotate. Several firings were attempted, all resulting in no
rotation of the rods. The

The Modern Human Resources Department
This article discusses the foundations of the modern human resources department and covers the three historical
periods of development to where modern human resources has evolved. There are three main historical periods that
are discussed including pre industrial, bureaucratic, and high performance. All three of these periods have played a
vital role in the field of Human Resources. The pre industrial period ended with the revolutionary war. This time
period saw a lack of human resource management due to inequality, inflexibility and misalignment that would be
unimaginable today. Slavery and indentured servitude were common throughout the American colonies and the only

This article is an interview with a single person Human Resource Manager and the purpose is to highlight the
relationship between a person s professional brand and what affect the position can have on a person s whole life and
the Human Resources has played in it. The article utilizes the seven images of self identity theory from Alvesson
(2010) and hopes to show how a person deals with the stresses of career/life balance and how constant changes effect
both. The author used this structure to look at the interpretation of the subject s life through each of these seven
images. The author utilizes in depth interviews with the subject Betty, a 30 year old married human resources
professional with no children that works in the technology industry, to map the self identity of the subject and how
they struggle to find themselves both personally and professionally. The article discusses the feelings that Betty
experiences and the difficulties she has to establish her personal and professional self and the challenges that exist as
she continues to deal with the stresses and self doubt associated with her professional life. The author also theorizes
that Betty, as a part of the working middle class, has certain ideals and looks to find a balance

Under Contract Law Case Study
The best model of jurisprudence describing a court s review of local zoning ordinances termed as the planning law
suggests that some form of plan is necessary. The model draws heavily on administrative law doctrines to state that
all gradual changes must conform to standards set out in the previous scheme. In this context, it means that the
rezoning of residential land to commercial was contrary to the previous plan in the zoning ordinance. Moreover,
courts apply the case of Fasano v. Board of County Commissioner that sets a precedent on the need to enforce
conformity to a plan.
Under contract law, courts take relevance in the express terms of an agreement and any applicable course of past
course of dealing, usage of trade and industry between parties by construing contract terms whenever reasonable as
consistent with each other to ascertain the meaning of the parties agreement. An example is where one party to the
contract offers evidence of a relevant usage of, the same is not admissible in court unless notice was given to the
other party and courts find it sufficient as not to surprise the other party. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Road Salt Persuasive Speech
During the winter months in Toronto, we often see road salt used so much that once there was even a shortage! Most
people from Toronto have to know that we use salt on our road, and some even use it on their driveways, but few
know what the road salt actually does and how it affects us in the long run.The issue I m going to be discussing today
is whether we should or shouldn t put salt on our roads. There is no other solution than to not do this, so I m writing to
you today to tell you why I think this.
Initially, The salt that we put onto the road ends up affecting water quality. As you may already know the salt we put
on our roads is made up of sodium chloride. We put it on our roads and eventually, it melts.Where do the melted snow
and sodium chloride go? It washes away into bodies of water or into groundwater supplies. According to Nina
Rastogi, a blogger for The Green Lantern, she says that Researchers in Minnesota recently found that, in the urban
Twin Cities area, 70 percent of the salt applied to roads stays within the region s watershed. Once it gets ... Show

Essay on 3-D Displays in the Marking Process
The use of 3D display in the marketing process plays a big role in sales and brand awareness. To make brand
awareness, a company needs a way to draw attention to their product and set itself apart from the rest. That brand
want the consumer s eyes to fall on its product only. One way to showcase their product is to use 3D display which
will give them a marketing advantage over their rivals.
Why 3D display? 2D display is amazing at giving preview of the product before a customer before he or she buys it,
however 3D display revolutionise where 2D left off by adding depth and perspective to the product. 3D display will
let the consumer try the product and buy it and then he or she will trust that brand because the company showed a

Thus boosting sales without the hassle of advertising because people will talk about what s new.
The placement of products is the key in order to be noticed. If the product is place strategically, marketing for the
product is going to be really effective. To do this, consider the layout of the space. Space gives way for the people to
see the product up close without distractions. Customers are sometimes in a rush and when they go inside the store,
they will have to find the product quickly. For those customers, they need plenty of space to get to the product and
quickly figure out if it is the product they need without any interferences from other products. Placing items that are
popular on the shelf at an eye level is also important because that would be the first thing that customer sees. For
example, in case of a forgotten Valentine s day and the customer needs to buy a last minute gift, he or she will drop
into the store to get one. If the first thing the customer sees on his or her radar is a 3D display of organized chocolate
boxes or bears that says Happy Valentine Day or Be Mine then it would be more likely that the consumer will head to
that location first. With no time to browse, the items on the eye level will be the one to go first. Pressed for time, the
consumer would most likely pick the item up. Depending on the outcome later on, the

Why Guns Should Be Banned
Is it time to ban guns? Yes guns must be banned because they are the causes of many deaths amongst the people of
the U.S today. Gun violence result in fifty percent of today s tragedies. Handguns causes too many deaths, the
government need to make gun less accessible, and the law enforcement need to really enforce the laws they make.
First, and foremost many handguns have claimed the lives of too many people. This is a very serious issue we must
tackle globally not just in the United States. 1.7 million children live with unlocked, loaded guns. Gun violence is the
third leading death among young people. 1 out of 5 guns are unfortunately sold without a background check
(Beckett). And not to mention Guns also increase suicide rates in the U.S Every week a school shooting occurs in the
U.S (Sharon). April 16 2007 Virginia Tech , 32 people killed and 17 others wounded. December 14, 2012 Sandy
Hook Elementary school, 28 children shot, these incidents were just a couple of the deadliest mass shootings in the
US. In 2012 Dedrick Owens age Six opens fire at Kayla Rolland. This shows me that we should make the laws more
strict and makes more gun policy with a kid even touching a gun And or having the gun in a place where a child
could reach it. More than 75 percent of first and second graders know where their parents keep their firearms and 36

The Banking Concept Of Education, By Richard Rodriguez
Just listen. An individual who takes the guidance of others to heart possesses a priceless quality. The authority figures
in The Banking Concept of Education, by Paulo Freire demonstrate the pivotal role that educators hold in the
educational system. The authority figures in The Achievement of Desire, by Richard Rodriguez show the impact of
educators on an individual student. Another text called Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior, by Amy Chua illustrates
the specific conditioning that authority figures implement on to students so that they can succeed in their education.

Individuals need to have the drive to succeed in education that the authorities believe is necessary for the individuals
to attain educational success. Authority figures don t want students to have poor qualities like being lazy and self
indulgent (Chua 55) that would inhibit their educational abilities. Instead, they want their students to possess the
positive qualities that they would approve of and would advocate. Many parents believe that To get good at anything
you have to work (Chua 52). Even though the child s mentality may not be focused in this manner, it needs to
become this way by the influencing of the well intentioned parents. An ambitious quality that parent figures want is
for their children to practice, practice, practice (Chua 52) no matter how they feel or want to give up. The parents
mold virtuous qualities like the willingness to do things over and over (Chua 55) into their child so that he or she can
become good at school. This ambition is expected to be demonstrated within the classroom as well. Authorities like
teachers want their students to have the ambition to complete all of the actions that they desire. A teacher wants a

Genetic Modification Essay
Genetic modification is a subject that has been hotly debated in the past, and remains a topic of controversy today.
There are many critical discussions to be had with genetically modified (GM) products, however, this paper will
focus on corn crops that have been modified to incorporate Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) genes. Corn is the largest food
crop in the world and Bt corn is one of the largest crops in North America. Bt corn has several benefits, yet, there are
also many potential problems with the crop and its impacts on local ecosystems. Although environmental issues may
raise concerns, Bt crops have an immense upside with proper management of the Bt gene.

He concludes, more investigation of the ecological and biological interactions involving the Bt genes needs to be
done before effective insect resistant management strategies can be crafted. Increasing insect, bacterial, and viral
resistances are some of the primary concerns with genetically modified crops. Recently, there have been several new
documented insect resistances to the Bt gene that have raised major concerns in the scientific community about the
future of genetic engineering (Coates 2016). Ostrina nubilalis was the largest pest to corn crops prior to the
introduction of Bt crops, populations of O. nubilalis saw drastic decreases after the widespread implementation of Bt
crops. Once the Bt crops were employed, new insect resistant management strategies needed to be adopted to stop
insect resistances from forming too rapidly. Unfortunately, these strategies seem to be an insufficient means in
preventing resistances forming swiftly and negating the sustainability of these B crops (Coates 2016). Currently,
there is not enough information about the interactions between the crops and their pests to develop effective insect
resistant management strategies (Coates 2016).
One of the major advantages of biological

Samuel Beckett s Krapp s Last Tape is a dismally brooding play where Krapp, the protagonist, converses with
himself through his disassociated recorded personal accounts. The old man, Krapp, recounts and reflects on his life
through his relationships with darkness and vision. Krapp s last tape unfolds onstage in lightness and darkness
between the dichotomous interplay of open and closed eyes which when used as a lens to understand Krapp s
emotions highlights his unconventional moments of vulnerability in light and comfort in his dark solitude. Add
significance at the end of the claim Krapp wrestles with his solitude, finding comfort in darkness shielded and

. . Hm . . . The black ball . . . (He raises his head, stares blankly front. Puzzled.) Black ball? Although the black ball
goes undefined, it s proximity in the sentence suggests a relationship to his mother s death. Without further
investigation of this black ball, the play continues; however, the black ball returns to display its importance in the
piece later: In the end I held it out to him and he took it in his mouth, gently, gently. A small, old, black, hard, solid
rubber ball. (Pause.) I shall feel it, in my hand, until my dying day. (Pause.) I might have kept it. (Pause.) But I gave

was prior identified as being white. Passing off the darkness of death to the innocence and purity of the white dog
gently, gently receiving it. Despite his relinquishing of his memories of his mother in the form of the black ball, he
shall feel it until his dying day. Beckett writes throughout the play about darkness in a way that is far more
appreciative than is typical. Darkness has presence and keep s Krapp company. That presence of the darkness is made
through memory, because Krapp can feel his mother s presence in the dark black ball. His ability to hold onto that
feeling until his dying day suggests that his mothers memory will live on with

John Oliver s Piece On Food Waste
While everyone may love to go out and enjoy a fine meal with friends and family, most will never stop to think the
process of how the food came about, or the production thereof. John Oliver s piece on Food Waste outlines all the
problems of food waste and how they can impact society, animals, nature, and even the farmers who harvest the
produce. America and its businesses should try to decrease the amount of food being wasted. By doing so, not only
are we a contributing factor to help reduce waste, save time and money, but we are also aiding the less fortunate in a
society, while still saving natural resources and the planet as a whole. There is enough food waste in America to fill
up 730 football stadiums. Yet, ironically there were almost 50 million people who live in households that are food
insecure in 2013. Thus, it is critically important to help reduce (or at the very least reevaluate) the amount of food
that is wasted so it can be used to help those who can t always afford it, or, help to reduce the impact of methane
released by landfills, or, help to use less resources gone into making the produce. John Oliver starts out his
presentation by emphasizing the obsession of food by America and the constant bombardment of food advertisement.
Even making it as a part of American culture and the stereotypical representation of America. Commenting on
statistics of how much produced food is then going on to landfills as waste. Ironically pointing out the amount of

Millionaire Next Door Analysis
The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko clarifies the principal reasons why a few
people are tycoons and others are most certainly not. As opposed to prevalent suspicion, most moguls are extremely
parsimonious and are not hyperconsumers. They don t have costly, extravagance, remote autos, they have humble
homes in working class neighborhoods, and they spending plan for every one of their costs. Most tycoons live well
beneath their methods. That is definitely why they are moguls. The vast majority who procure high salaries are not
rich, and they neglect to gather any enduring riches. They spend their cash as quick as they procure it. Keeping in
mind the end goal to gather riches, the creators propose that individuals need to play great offense. You should
spending plan, spending plan, and spending plan. The creators clarify how the normal individual gains riches through
seven shared factors.
The primary shared factor is to live well beneath your methods. As expressed some time recently, most moguls are
extremely economical. They know how much cash they have and where each penny of it is spent. They make a
month to month or yearly spending plan or both. Generally, they try to do they say others should do and pass these
qualities onto their kids. They spare cash and realize what it takes to have the capacity to resign serenely. They don t
live extravagant ways of life. They are readily to pay for quality things however surely not as a picture

The Convention And The Gatt System
To satisfy the national treatment principle ensured in the Paris Convention and the GATT system, the availability of
article 27.1 should be interpreted as Members are required to grant patents regardless of the product or process field
of technology, place of manufacture, or the applicant s nationality. Particularly, article 2 of the Paris Convention
specifies the foreign applicants enjoys the patent right be granted to her in all countries of the Union. Furthermore,
article 2 of the Paris Convention is incorporated by article 2.1 of the TRIPS Agreement. The non discrimination
obligation in article 27.1 of the TRIPS Agreement is to ensure the national treatment incorporated from the Paris
Convention to be fully implemented. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, section 84 does not discriminate de jure. Nevertheless, there might be de facto discrimination in practices (in
granting compulsory licenses, not in granting patents) due to the fact that most of the patentees are foreigners in a
developing country. However, neither de jure discrimination nor de facto discrimination exists in making patents
available to foreigners. Arguably, it would be de facto discriminatory to nationals in developing countries. Most
important of all, scholars also concur on the opinion that technology specific differentiations can be justifiable, not
per se impermissible under TRIPS. The Canada Pharmaceutical Patents panel did not intend to provide a rigid rule to
determine what constitutes a legitimate reason to impose a differential treatment. The IPA did not appear to apply the
local working requirement only to the pharmaceutical sector. Previously, Brazil introduced a local working provision
(article 68) in its Industrial Property Law and the US filed a complaint before the WTO dispute settlement body in
2001. Nonetheless, the U.S. agreed with non discrimination of article 68 of Brazil s Industrial Property Law, but
argued that it is a protectionist measure, intending to create jobs domestically extensively though out all technology
fields. These considerations regarding articles 7 and 8 of the TRIPS Agreement would be discussed in

Essay about The Human Right Violations at Abu Ghraib
The Human Right Violations at Abu Ghraib
In 1949, the Geneva Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War was created to prohibit immoral, cruel
and degrading punishment toward prisoners during wartime. The United States ratified this covenant and became a
member of the Geneva Conventions. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, a series of human abuses occurred from
October through December of 2003 where American military personnel have conducted acts of brutality and immoral
behavior toward Iraqi detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison. The inhumane interrogation method of the American
military have clearly violated Article 2 and 4 of the Geneva Conventions. Article 2.2 states No exceptional

Abu Ghraib and the Root Causes of Abuse
When President Bush declared the War on Terror after the incident of September 11, 2001, he was declaring a new
kind of war on a different kind of enemy. The al Qaeda terrorist group who were responsible for the destruction of
World Trade Center is organized differently than any enemy that the U.S. has faced before. Since the terrorists were
determined to target large numbers of American civilians, the Bush administration issued a memorandum which
declared the Geneva Conventions cannot apply to unconventional combatants such as al Qaeda, it states I accept the
legal conclusion of the Department of Justice and determine that none of the provisions of Geneva apply to our
conflict with al Qaeda in Afghanistan or elsewhere through the world because; among other reasons al Qaeda is not a
High Contracting Party to Geneva. (Bush 2002)
In 2002, the Office of Legal Counsel responded to the President s request of exploring the question whether
American officials have the right to use torture against suspected terrorists. Assistant Attorney General Jay S. Bybee
of the Office of Legal Counsel not only legalized the use of torture for U.S. officials but also defined torture in the
narrowest way. He defines torture as inflicting physical pain, or any serious physical injury such as failure of organs

Urban Legend With Its Narrative Polish
This urban legend, with its narrative polish and how recently it has taken place, seems to have had its start in 1980s,
when a Turkish man sold his kidney, but had told officials that it was stolen. Later it was proven that he offered to
sell his kidney from a newspaper advertisement. This story became famous with its adaption to the TV crime show
Law and Order. With its new found fame, many people adapted the plot to better fit their needs upon retelling it, such
as changing the location. Locations started in distant countries, for instance, Brazil and the Caribbean, then moved
closer to Mexico, and even within the US, New York and Las Vegas (Fine and Ellis, pg. 179 180). The major points
that follow the legend through its various forms include: hotel rooms, an unknowing victim, traveling to new places,

178), then changed to a businessman who was given drugs in his drink by a stranger (You ve Got to Be Kidneying).
Additionally, instructions to call 911 and leaving the victim a cell phone have updated the legend. Previously, the
victim would be found in an alley or some other abandoned area by either friends or a bystander. The legend always
seems to revolve around the kidneys, usually the criminal only takes one kidney since humans can live a normal life
with one functioning kidney, but there are variations that describe both kidneys being taken. If both kidneys are
taken, the victim would be forced to start dialysis, which is a medical process to filter toxic wastes in the body which
the kidneys normally do. Without dialysis to filter the waste, death would occur anywhere from one week to several

Social Classes During The Napoleonic Wars
Social Classes During The Napoleonic Wars
Life in Britain during the Napoleonic Wars was quite interesting. Unlike today, the people of Britain lived in three
social classes: the upper class, the middle class, and the lower class. The upper class consisted of the aristocrats and
those involved in politics. The middle class included the business men such as the butcher, blacksmith, baker, and
other men of trade. The majority of the population of Great Britain consist of the middle class. The lower class
consist of all those who had little money and no job. It also consist of sailors and soldiers, since the people didn t
think highly of them at the time. Though all of these social classes differ in many ways, each one was affected in
some way by the Napoleonic war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

status, some people would think that they were barely affected by the Napoleonic war, but they couldn t be more
wrong. The upper class often worried about the people in the lower classes would start riots because of the huge

Air Pollution in Mexico City
Air Pollution in Mexico City
Outline
Title: Air Pollution in Mexico City
I. Introduction General information about the problem: As the vehicle population reached more than 700 million,
numerous cities experiencing rapid industrialization started to suffer from air pollution. Some of them reduced the air
pollution level; however there are still some that are considered to be the most polluted cities in the world.
Introduction of the problem: One of them is Mexico City. According to Forbes, Mexican capital is one of the five
dirtiest cities of the world. Industrial growth of the city, population boom, which grew from 3 million in 1950 to 20
million today, and the proliferation of vehicles in the city ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these have already been implemented and we know that they will work for the environment. Therefore, the
government should enforce these solutions and stop the air pollution in Mexico City.
Air pollution in Mexico City As the vehicle population reached more than 700 million worldwide, numerous cities
experiencing rapid industrialization started to suffer from air pollution (Walsh, 1999). The level of air pollution in
any city is a global concern. The reason is that air can travel freely from place to place; consequently, the polluted air
from one city can travel to another. The polluted air has numerous negative consequences for human health and also
severely damages the ecosystem. Some of the cities reduced the air pollution level; however there are still some that
are considered to be the most polluted cities in the world. One of them is Mexico City. According to Forbes, the
Mexican capital is one of the five dirtiest cities of the world (Luck, 2008). The government and people have take
measures in order to reduce the air pollution in Mexico City before it is too late. The government should practice
legal regulations and favor the usage of hydrogen fuel instead of gasoline in order to reduce the air pollution level in
Mexico City. Mexico City is one of the world s largest metropolitan areas, containing more than 20 million
inhabitants, 3.5 million vehicles, and 35,000

Taking a Look at Political Ideologies
It s an understatement to say our ideology shapes the way we live our lives every day. It affects the way we view and
react to different people. Ideology is a set of beliefs that affects our outlook on the entire world. Most of the time
ideology refers to a set of political beliefs or a set of ideas that relate to religious views. In a simpler meaning,
ideology means having a views or opinions based on your ideas of that thing.
The Republican ideology today is based on conservatism. They believe in free market economy and the government s
job is to provide for its citizens with military protection. A conservative is someone who values the heritage that
comes from the past. They believe in classical principles and tend to be more self righteous. Conservative
Republicans believe in tradition, less regulation and free enterprise. They believe in their rights and are hard working.
This is the belief that you get what you work for but the government still helps the ones in need.
Democrats think it is the responsibility of the government to care for all individuals. Democrats are weak compared
to the rest of the political ideologies. They believe the government knows what is best for the citizens. A Democratic
liberal is where democracy uses the principles of liberalism. This includes social and economic equality. Liberals
want the government to help with the lower class and regulate the rich to ensure they do not have too much power.
Liberals do not want a completely free

Antibiotics Vs Antibiotic Free Meat
I understand your confusion on whether or not to purchase antibiotic free meat because many people are uneducated
on genetically modified foods and their impact on our health. With that being said, before you decide if antibiotic
free meat is best for your family you have to understand what antibiotics are, and the difference between meat that is
treated with antibiotics versus antibiotic free meat.
Antibiotics are commonly known as medicines that are used to prevent or kill bacteria and have been used for
decades to treat humans. In humans, antibiotics are seen as increasing the quality of health care and extending the
lifespan of people by essentially preventing death from infectious diseases. Like you, many people are unaware that
about 80% of the antibiotics sold in the United States are actually used in agriculture (insert reference). More
specifically, antibiotics are used in meat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Salmonella is a bacteria that develops in the intestine track which is commonly caused from eating contaminated
meat and poultry. Some recent outbreaks of salmonella both occurred in 2011. In the united states there was a deadly
salmonella outbreak in ground turkey. And in the UK there was an outbreak in ground beef which caused several
infections. The salmonella strain in both of these instances is resistant to four types of bacteria which made it difficult
to cure. MRSA, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, is a highly contagious staph infection that is the result
of antibiotic resistant bacteria. This infection causes skin abscesses or internal abscesses. In a study in the Midwest
United States livestock workers were found to have carried MRSA, which is alarming because this was not a
infection that was believed to occur in livestock. (insert reference). Infectous outbreaks like these show the dangers
that antibiotic overuse

The Importance Of Self Confidence
Believing that you that you are unacceptable or unlikable socially can be painful. Lack of self confidence can make
you get afraid to interact socially. When in situations where you will be observed by others or where you need to
speak in front of a crowd or to strangers you might feel anxious. This might cause you to act awkward. You might
avoid eye contact and behave too cautiously. The idea that you are socially unacceptable might get reinforced to you
when you feel that other people react strangely towards you.
As the result of the challenges you face you might end up avoiding social contact even though you know being in
social places and interacting with others is a big part of any persons life. We cannot always avoid social situations in
living our daily lives. You might get invited to parties where friends are celebrating or by colleagues at work
celebrating their birthdays. It is not always possible to avoid interacting socially.
So how do you improve social self confidence when you do not have it? Before I tell you how, let me start by telling
a little story about a rat.
When you have a rat in the house that eats up your tomatoes and messes up your fruits. To catch it, you would need
to know how and when and where it operates. You would want to catch it when the house is quite with a piece of
cheese in the mouse trap or place a rat poison in places where the rat is likely to hang around.
A similar approach is applicable to improving self confidence. You need to

The Massacre At Virginia Tech
The massacre at Virginia Tech is known as one of the deadliest shootings in the history of our nation (History, 2011).
This event that occurred on April 16, 2007 brought great pain to our country but this was not a pain that was
unfamiliar. Mass shooting is something that we as a nation have dealt with for a while and on April 16, 2007 was no
different. This massacre left 32 dead including the shooter himself, 23 year old, Seung Hui Cho. To really understand
how to put an end to mass shooting one must analyze what happened here it is necessary to look into the shooters life
and the victims he took. It is also important to know the events that lead up to the shooting, what happened during
the shooting and also after. Seung Hui Cho, known for carrying out one of the most devastating madd murders in the
US was born on January 18, 1984 in South Korea (Biography, 2014). Cho was always very quiet from the beginning.
Cho s aunt in South Korea shared that his resolute silences were a source of worrying for his mother at a young age
(NYTIMES, 2007). Cho and his family migrated to the United States when he was eight years old. We thought that it
would help the boy gain confidence if he moved to the United States open society, said an Uncle of Cho s
(NYTIMES, 2007). But they soon realized it didn t help at all. Living in Centreville, Virginia his family ran a dry
cleaning business. As a child Cho was known as the shy child who enjoyed math and basketball (Biography, 2014).

Summary Of The Millennial Malcontent
Ric Knowles said, funding structures, professional regulatory mechanisms, and stage management have their most
direct impact on conditions of production , and I agree. It is more difficult for the University of Guelph s production
The Millennial Malcontent to reach its maximum potential than it is for The Incident of The Curious Dog in The
Nighttime seen at the Princess of Wales theatre. The latter, a big name Mirvish production we saw in Toronto, was
extremely high tech and explored many topics and issues prevalent in society today. Comparatively, The Millennial
Malcontent was held back by its attempt to incorporate technology and malignant issues, and was thus lacking due to
funding, perspective, and space.
The space in which you encounter a production is vital to how it is heeded by individual members of an audience.
Knowles says theatres are ideologically coded in ways that range from enforcing class differences and interests
through the tyranny of architectonic grandeur (71), meaning the more grand the building, the higher the audience
within climbs on the social ladder. The Princess of Wales Theatre has thousands of seats, gorgeous architecture, and a
high level of grandiosity. High expectations come with such an exceptional location and the spectators are ready to
be contented. Knowles says all performances take place within specific architectural and geographic frames that
serve to shape their meanings (66), if The Incident of The Curious Dog in The Nighttime

  • 2. Explain The Five Key Points Made By The Speaker 1) What are 5 key points made by the speaker? Write a short paragraph for each one The first key point that the author made is that there is a lot of people in the world that are non informed about what was going on in the world. He says that people tends to think that things are becoming worst or didn t change which is not true. He said that there is a need to communicate because the data of what happening in the world is well aware. He compares the life expectancy and fertility rate of many countries since 1960. He found out that they is a lot of countries that have improved in term of life expectancy. As example China and India has improved and are moving toward better health care and small families like develop countries. He also compared the income distribution in the world and found out that there wasn t a gap between rich and poor anymore and that there were a lot of countries that were in the middle and had 24% of the income. Looking at the graph, the actual distribution was mounded shaped while it used to be a bump. He shows that it is dangerous to use average data because there is a lot of differences between countries and that policy makers have to take that into consideration while designing the laws for one region. He thinks that data should be used more often and that organization should be will willing to release these information s and make it available to the rest of the world. 2) Read the power point posted on Canvas entitled Politics in the developing ... Bullying Vs Cyberbullying School Officials Vs Cyberbullying Cyberbullying is one of the world s major causes of teen depression and suicide, stating that 42% kids been bullied while online (Cushing). Although due to this increase with devices, such as phones and computers, people tend to cyberbully since it s the easiest way to gain the victim. Cyberbullying is an act of bullying through devices, threatening or humiliating the victim that is being communicated to. This causes harm to those who fall victim, around twenty percent of these victims tend to think of suicide, and one of ten often commit the act. Due to cyberbullying, school officials should help stand for those deteriorating as a victim, this will then help prevent suicidal acts, suppress depression, and help improve teens to be more cooperative with others in the same situations. Cyberbullying since then became a national problem. Although if school officials take part in helping out with teens, this will prevent suicidal acts among the students. Counseling, just on its own, can help prevent these suicidal thoughts. Due to their careers counselors tend to know how to handle many situations amongst students including that of cyberbullying. By doing their jobs, counselors can not only go to the student being bullied, but engage the students who tend to imply the bullying. This creates programs that ll help the communities to help one another in these situations. With programs being constructed this will benefit the way society will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Trophic Interactions Of Animals Essay 2. Describe 2 trophic interactions of an organism from the area studied. An example of a trophic interaction includes parasitism, which is a relationship that involves a harmful organism living on another organism, and is presented by the galls ( plant tumours ) on the Grey Mangrove. The formation of a gall is initiated when an insect feeds on a plant or dominates the tissue of a plant and lays eggs there. The eggs will grow within the leaves, which they will eventually devour. These abnormal growths of plant tissue are a response to irritation or harm of the plant and it may slow down the photosynthesis process and may make the Grey Mangrove die. Another example includes mutualism, where both species benefit from the relationship. Mutualism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adaptations of the Sydney mud whelk: Mud whelks have a big muscular foot which is mandatory for holding their prey captive and also enables them to move through and attach itself to surfaces and survive the mudflat sediment which consists of sand, silt, mud and organic matter. They have a strong, hard shell to protect them from predators, and their shell also does not allow moisture to seep in. Its shell also reduces water loss from evaporation. • 5. Cheating Is Defined As An Act Of Dishonesty What comes to mind when hearing the word cheat ? According to Merriam Webster, Cheating is defined as an act of dishonesty in order to gain an advantage (Webster, 2015). Society seems to encourage that people should do whatever it takes to win or succeed. This method has been recycled through any type of accomplishment from politics to performances. The three main areas that people are susceptible to cheat in are athletics, academics, and intimate relationships. There are several ways to cheat in sports especially as a group. Athletes habitually do whatever it takes to succeed in competition. For some athletes, one form of cheating is to take drugs that are meant to enhance their performance, such as steroids. Steroids are synthetic testosterone like drugs that are taken to form muscle, heighten performance, and transform appearance. Steroids give a competitive advantage (Aschwanden, 2012). These might make a track runner sprint at a higher speed or a pitcher throw with more power input. There are several real world examples of cheating in sports. For example, Patriots Safety Rodney Harrison was called out on suspension for taking illegal substances (Burton, 2015). My hypothesis is that cheating in sports is not encouraged by a desire to win, but by wanting to be thought or known by others as having won versus actually learning the craft. It is believed that what others believe is accurate and3 more essential than what is actually ethically correct. Athletes do not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Effect Of The Slat System Essay In order to gauge any effects the slat system, with various weights, may have on the shock wave, several baseline tests were run. These tests did not have the device installed in order to record and understand the basic performance of a shock wave coming straight from the shock tube. To record the pressure profile of the wave within the expansion section, GageScope was used. A trigger was set to detect a rapid rise in voltage from the pressure transducer, and the program would record 1ms before and 10ms after the trigger. The initial baseline test can be seen in Figure X below. For a greater focus on the effects of the device on the shock wave, all charts for comparison has been narrowed to 2ms after the trigger. The two significant runs showing the pressure profile of the shock wave are shown in Figures X Y. Figure x: Baseline Test 1 Full Recording Figure x: Baseline Test 1 2ms Recording Figure x: Baseline Test 2 These figures show that the pressure rises from atmospheric (0mV) to peak pressure in a rise time of around 0.000039 seconds, or 39 µs. This is representative of a shock wave due to a nearly instantaneous rise time. Baseline test 1 burst at 51 psi while baseline test 2 burst at 53 psi. The initial design did not perform effectively at achieving its intended functions when installed and tested with the shock tube. Upon firing the shock tube, the slats would not rotate. The model draws heavily on administrative law doctrines to state that all gradual changes must conform to standards set out in the previous scheme. In this context, it means that the rezoning of residential land to commercial was contrary to the previous plan in the zoning ordinance. Moreover, courts apply the case of Fasano v. Board of County Commissioner that sets a precedent on the need to enforce conformity to a plan. Road Salt Persuasive Speech During the winter months in Toronto, we often see road salt used so much that once there was even a shortage! Most people from Toronto have to know that we use salt on our road, and some even use it on their driveways, but few know what the road salt actually does and how it affects us in the long run.The issue I m going to be discussing today is whether we should or shouldn t put salt on our roads. There is no other solution than to not do this, so I m writing to you today to tell you why I think this. Initially, The salt that we put onto the road ends up affecting water quality. As you may already know the salt we put on our roads is made up of sodium chloride. We put it on our roads and eventually, it melts.Where do the melted snow and sodium chloride go? It washes away into bodies of water or into groundwater supplies. One way to showcase their product is to use 3D display which will give them a marketing advantage over their rivals. Why 3D display? 2D display is amazing at giving preview of the product before a customer before he or she buys it, however 3D display revolutionise where 2D left off by adding depth and perspective to the product. 3D display will let the consumer try the product and buy it and then he or she will trust that brand because the company showed a quality ... Space gives way for the people to see the product up close without distractions. Customers are sometimes in a rush and when they go inside the store, they will have to find the product quickly. For those customers, they need plenty of space to get to the product and quickly figure out if it is the product they need without any interferences from other products. Placing items that are popular on the shelf at an eye level is also important because that would be the first thing that customer sees. For example, in case of a forgotten Valentine s day and the customer needs to buy a last minute gift, he or she will drop into the store to get one. If the first thing the customer sees on his or her radar is a 3D display of organized chocolate boxes or bears that says Happy Valentine Day or Be Mine then it would be more likely that the consumer will head to that location first. There are many critical discussions to be had with genetically modified (GM) products, however, this paper will focus on corn crops that have been modified to incorporate Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) genes. Corn is the largest food crop in the world and Bt corn is one of the largest crops in North America. Bt corn has several benefits, yet, there are also many potential problems with the crop and its impacts on local ecosystems. He concludes, more investigation of the ecological and biological interactions involving the Bt genes needs to be done before effective insect resistant management strategies can be crafted. Increasing insect, bacterial, and viral resistances are some of the primary concerns with genetically modified crops. Recently, there have been several new documented insect resistances to the Bt gene that have raised major concerns in the scientific community about the future of genetic engineering (Coates 2016). Ostrina nubilalis was the largest pest to corn crops prior to the introduction of Bt crops, populations of O. nubilalis saw drastic decreases after the widespread implementation of Bt crops. Once the Bt crops were employed, new insect resistant management strategies needed to be adopted to stop insect resistances from forming too rapidly. Unfortunately, these strategies seem to be an insufficient means in preventing resistances forming swiftly and negating the sustainability of these B crops (Coates 2016). Currently, there is not enough information about the interactions between the crops and their pests to develop effective insect resistant management strategies (Coates 2016). A small, old, black, hard, solid rubber ball. (Pause.) I shall feel it, in my hand, until my dying day. (Pause.) I might have kept it. (Pause.) But I gave it to the dog. John Oliver s piece on Food Waste outlines all the problems of food waste and how they can impact society, animals, nature, and even the farmers who harvest the produce. America and its businesses should try to decrease the amount of food being wasted. By doing so, not only are we a contributing factor to help reduce waste, save time and money, but we are also aiding the less fortunate in a society, while still saving natural resources and the planet as a whole. There is enough food waste in America to fill up 730 football stadiums. Yet, ironically there were almost 50 million people who live in households that are food insecure in 2013. Thus, it is critically important to help reduce (or at the very least reevaluate) the amount of food that is wasted so it can be used to help those who can t always afford it, or, help to reduce the impact of methane released by landfills, or, help to use less resources gone into making the produce. John Oliver starts out his presentation by emphasizing the obsession of food by America and the constant bombardment of food advertisement.
