A quantitative survey consisting of eight main sections and demographic information was given to
international students at a Western United States land grant university. The survey s eight sections
assessed students level of agreement in the eight following categories: personal life, cultural concerns,
academics, university programs, health care, safety, and the International Students and Scholars Office
(ISS). The questions were evaluated on a standard 5 point Likert type scale. In addition, open ended
responses were elicited for country of origin and religious beliefs to ensure possibly answers were not
omitted by the research team. Questions were divided into the eight categories to make the survey
process easier for respondents while also preserving internal validity of the questionnaire. The survey
was sent via email through the ISS office to the entire international student population of 862 students.
63 students responded to the survey, giving a response rate of 6.54%. This was significantly lower
than the researcher s target of 25%, but the response rate was typical for this student population
(Porter Whitcomb, 2007).

Demographic and group comparison information was collected in order to account for differences in
geographic location, religious beliefs, gender, age, and time at the university. International students are

The Health And Weight Loss
Have you ever wondered why Coca Cola now comes in versions such as light and zero ? If you have,
chances are that you mentally answered your question by saying that the company read your mind and
was fulfilling your desire to lose weight while still indulging in your favorite beverage. However, the
relationship between you and the food giants is quite the opposite. What you think is healthy or
unhealthy is based on research funded by companies that profit off of your food choices, currently,
much of the research regarding health and weight loss is funded by companies such as Coca Cola and
Kellogg therefore therefore, you are the one fulfilling their desire (CBS, 2015).
The idea that large companies and the media dictate our daily lives has slowly become common
knowledge. Therefore, one must be cautious in regards of the sources he or she trusts. For instance,
Steve Blair, who conducts research that supports the idea that obesity in America is due to lack of
physical activity as opposed to calorie consumption has much of his research funded by Coca Cola, a
company which is largely known for its calorie packed drinks and snacks. Moreover, while Blair s
research might be supported by relevant data, so was the research that justified smoking. Nonetheless,
the way data is analyzed can be extremely biased based on who is paying for the collection and
analysis of such data (Freedhoff, 2015).
The increase in the obese population is both an opportunity and a liability to

An Argument Against Affirmative Action Essay
Paved with Good Intentions: An Argument Against Affirmative Action Out of the jaws of civil war,
the new United States had emerged. Broken and burning and minus 620,000 men, a new challenge lay
before the nation: social equality. How would we address the sickening grievances endured by these
African American now citizens? That question has hallmarked fiery debates from dinner tables all the
way to the Supreme Court for more than a century. During the Civil Rights Movement, millions of
American citizens demonstrated across the country in pursuit of fairness, and famously in his I Have a
Dream speech, Dr. Martin Luther King championed the idea of a country that saw no color, but based
judgement on the content of character. Through decades of policy, our government implemented social
reform within institutions of education and employment. Collectively known as Affirmative Action,
this social reform established racial preferences in favor of minority groups at the expense of whites
and Asians. This social reform was unquestionably established in good faith, but into what has this
festered now? The pursuit of fairness is perhaps the most American in spirit, and a goal toward which
we all strive together. Unfortunately, the policies collectively known as Affirmative Action, however
well intended, have further widened the boundaries between us through some ideal of righteous
discrimination. The time has come, it seems, that our government and our nation rethink the policies

Death Of A Bachelor Analysis
Panic! At the Disco s latest album Death Of A Bachelor is a wonderful album but the album is not a
memorable album. The album itself can be about two things the first being a man who used to party
extremely hard tried to be forgiven by God but sadly ended up dying and then hopes he will be
remembered after his death. The other thing this album could be about is how a guy who used to party
hard was forgiven by God then married a woman who turned out to be abusive and then he talks about
after fighting what it was like before they fought and how he hopes he is remembered by his ex. The
album starts out with fast upbeat songs and by the end of the album in the song Impossible Year the
beat is slow as well as the singing and it is a very saddening song. This is compared to the first song in

Death of a Bachelor is different from almost all the other albums released by Panic! At the Disco
because unlike the other albums Death of a Bachelor has two possible messages whereas the other
albums only have one main message and that usually has something to do with girls and dating.
Victorious the first song in the Death of a Bachelor album is saying how they will be victorious but
not saying what they will be victorious of leaving it opened ended to anyone who listens to it. The
final song in the album Impossible Year is an extremely gloomy compared to the first song with a
slower beat more melodic singing and gloomy lyrics. The album can be compared to an actual
relationship at the beginning of the album it is all happy and fun like when you first start dating
someone. When you keep listening to the album it starts to get darker and darker until you reach the
end of the album which is sad and gloomy like right after a breakup between two

The Atomic Bomb Essays
August 6th, 1945, 70,0000 lives were ended in a matter of seconds. The United States had dropped an
atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Today many argue whether or not the U.S. should have taken
such a drastic measure. Was it entirely necessary that we drop such a devastating weapon? To answer
that first we must look at was going on in the world at the time of the conflict. The U.S. had been
fighting a massive war since 1941. Moral was most likely low, and resources were at the same level as
moral. Still both sides continued to fight and both were determined to win. Obviously the best thing
that could have possibly happened would have been to bring the war to a quick end with a minimum
of allied casualties. Harry Truman s decision to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We shall continue to use it until we completely destroy Japan s power to make war. This quote
embodies the spirit of the American people of the time. The public was eager for a quick end to the
war and American casualties. Also Truman threatens to utilize the A bomb s power again until we are
victorious. In hindsight it is clear the correct decision was made. How can anyone be certain that
Japan would have continued to fight? It is possible that they were preparing for surrender, no one can
say for certain exactly what would have happened but by examining evidence of Japanese culture and
warfare it is obvious that would not have been the case. At the time of WWII systematic and organized
education made efficient quot;brainwashing quot; possible. In public schools, students were taught to
die for the emperor. By late 1944, a slogan of Jusshi Reisho meaning, quot;Sacrifice life, quot; was
taught. In addition to civilian s dedication to their country, there was a group of military pilots called
the Kamikaze. Kamikaze were suicide pilots. They would load up an airplane and try to nose dive it
into an enemy target. Think about what must be on that pilot s mind. Imagine the undying love for his
country. He would fight to the bitter end for his emperor. The most frightening part of this is that the
entire Japanese military thought this way. The fact that the enemy is willing to die so long as you die
with him is not something

Harry Potter and Jane Eyre are two novel characters who have quite a lot of similarities. In their early
childhood, both were raised as orphans, both experienced cruelty and unkind treatment from relatives
who were supposed to take care of them, both were given opportunity to study and live far away from
the people who treated them harshly, and both of them had a life changing experience in their

The life of Harry Potter changed when he was finally introduced to his true identity, a wizard, and had
to attend school at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As for Jane, she eventually had
the chance to be away from the Reeds and study at Lowood Institution, a school for orphaned girls.
School was both tough and pleasant for Harry and Jane. Both had instant friends and instant enemies.
Attending school is perhaps a taste of normalcy in their lives, except that their past still haunted and
defined their characters. Harry was known at school as the boy who lived having survived the attack
of a notorious wizard (Rowling 18); while Jane had to carry with her the rude description that her aunt
made of her which is deceitful which resulted in her being labeled as liar. As a result, both Harry and
Jane had to face the difficulty of trying to fit in and at times, had to bear the bitter consequences. Hard
as it may seem, Harry and Jane managed to get through the most difficult phases at school and
eventually found solace and comfort in the company of their true friends. Harry Potter discovers true
friendships at Hogwarts through Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger. They protect and defend each
other oftentimes with the help of Hagrid, a staff member at Hogwarts who had grown fond of them
and protects Harry in so many ways. Jane Eyre, on the other hand,

Once you have placed this type of bet, as a punter you know exactly what you are going to win (or
lose) right from the start, and so most people are comfortable with this type of bet since you can
manage your money more effectively, and this is so very important as a punter. Why Is Spread Betting
Different? Spread betting has become more popular in horse racing in recent years, although it started
out as being more popular in sports such as American football, rugby and cricket; sports where there is
potentially a large flexibility in the winning margin. It is also a popular method of betting for those
who trade the financial markets. Using this type of betting for horse racing is definitely not for the
beginner, nor the faint hearted, as there is generally the possibility that you do not know how much
you stand to lose if you re unfortunate enough to do so. To explain this as concisely as possible, spread
betting on horse racing is taking either the jockey index, winning distance or the distance of places
between individual horses, and so involves a fair amount of guessing on the margin, known as the
spread between

What Is The Ethical Code Of Ethics

INTRODUCTION
Ethics is basically a common thing that the world expects for an individual to possess. This is
concerned solely with moral values and principles of individuals. According to an American Judge,
Potter Stewart Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right
to do. This states that every individual differs from perceptions of their minds about what you have a
right to do and what is the right thing to do. What you have a right to do indicate the individual s
ability to do what is legal, but this doesn t necessarily mean it is the right thing to do. Ethics is
different from law, sometimes people misinterpret this and do things that they are required to do rather
than what they are allowed to do which unconsciously leads them with doing unethical things.
Ultimately, ethics is important not so that we can understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Purpose Of Collecting Fingerprints
The purpose of collecting fingerprints is to identify an individual. This person may be the suspect, a
victim, or a witness. There are three types of fingerprints that can be found: latent, patent, and plastic.
(Crime Museum, 2016) Latent fingerprints are made of the sweat and oil on the skin s surface. This
type of fingerprint is invisible to the naked eye and requires additional processing in order to be seen.
This processing can include basic powder techniques or the use of chemicals. Patent fingerprints can
be made by blood, grease, ink, or dirt. This type of fingerprint is easily visible to the human eye.
Plastic fingerprints are three dimensional impressions and can be made by pressing your fingers in

Non porous rough surfaces include vinyl, leather, and other textured surfaces. For porous surfaces,
scientists sprinkle chemicals such as ninhydrin over the prints and then take photographs of the
developing fingerprints. For non porous smooth surfaces, experts use powder and brush techniques,
followed by lifting tape. For rough surfaces, the same powdering process is used, but instead of using
regular lifting tape for these prints, scientists use something that will get into the grooves of the
surface such as a gel lifter or Microcell (a silicone casting material). Once a print is collected, analysis
can begin. During analysis, examiners determine whether there is enough information present in the
print to be used for identification. This includes determining class and individual characteristics for
the unknown print. Class characteristics are the characteristics (crime Museum, 2016) that narrow the
print down to a group but not an individual. The three fingerprint class types are arches, loops, and
whorls. Arches are the least common type of fingerprint, occurring only about 5% of the time. Ridges
that enter on one side of the print go up, and exit on the opposite side characterize this pattern. Loops
are the most common, occurring 60 65% of the time. Ridges that enter on one side of the print loop
around, and then exit on the same side characterize this pattern. Whorls present a circular type of ridge

Anorexia In The Media
Anorexia By Cecilie Löw The media pressures young people into eating disorders like anorexia or
bulimia with their view on, how the perfect body is supposed to look. The reason people have low self
esteem and a bad body image is because of the media that portrays the ideal body as slim and tall, and
all other body types as imperfect. Having anorexia When a person have anorexia they deprive
themselves from food to lose weight or look thin. In addition to this, they will typically over exercise,
where they burn a lot more calories than they consume. Consequently, they will keep on losing weight
every day, even though they may already be very slim. People with anorexia also as an intense fear of

Hasbro seems comfortable in gaining a steady cash cow from monopoly until it declines and dies a

main core values which some are : Community, Innovation, Fun and Diversity amongst others , if I
myself had to be responsible for the marketing of Hasbro and was in charge to come with new ideas I
would come up with a Monopoly Theme Park . What else could be better and more successful than a
theme park for a company like Hasbro?
Having the capital to invest and wait for a long term profit, Hasbro in my opinion is losing out on an
idea like this. If Again I had to be in charge the theme park would include Kiddie Rides to Adult Thrill
Rides, Would also include a life size monopoly where people can gather together as communities and
enjoy a day out. Organising also competitions for people to come up with new ideas for different
monopolies from around the world and the winner will get a monopoly made to his name. Why not
have a Studio Booth for people to get photographs and make their own family monopoly? Nan s house

a short version of monopoly and see who will be able to play monopoly whilst going on a ride ?

European Integration And The European Union Enlargement
This literature review provides evidence of the research conducted in order to increase the knowledge
regarding the topic in question: the EU enlargement. The paper analyses, first of all, the why and how
of the European Union enlargement. Starting from outlining the main reasons of the European
integration and its benefits, as well as the perspectives of the controversial issues that the European
integration presents. In particular, the difficulties of agreeing which country should join the monetary
union and the numerous problems that the enlargement brings to the other European states, taking into
account the major changes that the monetary union bring. The literature review closes with the
question: how big the European integration should be, as well as the numerous critical appraisals and

Visit Keraton Yogyakarta:, Indonesia, a A Javanese Palace withthat Has a Live History in Indonesia
Indonesia in the ancient times, from Aceh in the west to Ambon in the east is the place where many
kingdoms existed in the past. The kingdoms were then ruled by the Dutch colonial in the 17th century
before finally merged and formed the Republic of Indonesia in 1945. Now we can only see some
traces of the kingdoms in the form of royal palaces that are spread throughout Indonesia. However,
among many of the palaces, keraton Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta palace) is the only Indonesian s ancient
palace that still maintains its activities, just like what the royal people did in the past. Why is that?
Well, to understand that, we need to learn a bit about Indonesian history. Founded in 1755 by the first
Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana (sultan is the term used for an Islamic king in Southeast Asia region)

Sir Gawain Archetype
The common archetype of the knight is seen as Christian and chivalric, yet by the end of the text,
Gawain is neither. The narrative begins by portraying Gawain as the epitome of medieval chivalric
values, being respectful towards Arthur and Gweniviere. However, by the end of the text, we quickly
realise his morals are not so clear cut, as he lies and steals from his host. In fact, it is suggested that
Gawain is neither Christian nor chivalric, characteristics tested within the Green chapel.
Christianity held a central position within Medieval society, its importance being highlighted with the
Green Chapel. This location tests Gawain s morals and ultimately brings to light his cowardice and

primarily because he wishes for somewhere to go to church and partake in mass. Mary is a repeated
figure within the poem, appearing on the inside of his shield so he can glance at her when he requires
guidance and strength. Yet, in later parts of the tale, this appears ironic, as Mary is associated with
loyalty and virginity. Gawain was hardly loyal to the promise he made with his host, refusing to give
away the girdle breaking the essential chivalric laws. Furthermore, as we learn that Gawain is
experienced in lufttalking it becomes apparent that he may not be as sexually pure as we are lead to
believe. This provides another aspect on Gawain, as the fashionable wealthy man of promiscuous
pursuits. These hidden values of his directly contradict both Christian values of purity and chivalric
values of respect, illustrating him as the unknightly knight. However, his status of a knight could be
solely due to his own birth, as he is King Arthur s nephew. Therefore, we can assume that he did not
suffer through any trials or perform any great deed in order to assert his status as a knight. This could
potentially be the reason as to why his morals are less than perfect, and it could also be possible that

Oh God, I m bleeding! There I stood, being crucified while hanging from a light rack at the end of the
play. When I was on stage that night, singing and making the audience believe all the pain felt real, I
demonstrated the greatest talent I am known to have: acting. My skill peaked at the time I took part in
my high school s musical, Godspell, and I played the main role: Jesus. I started acting officially my
freshman year. I felt like an outcast in school, and since I thought the theatre program was meant for
weird people, I decided to audition for a play. The basis of my talent started with The Merchant of
Venice by William Shakespeare, where I learned that there is more to acting than memorizing lines.
Going into my sophomore year, I took part in The Seagull by Anton Chekov. My theatre director took
me through a long acting exercise called The Meisner technique that challenged me to connect

comedic characters I had portrayed in the past.
Last but not least: Godspell by Stephen Schwartz. The first musical that my school produced in a long
time helped me demonstrate everything I learned and more! I had to memorize the most lines,
emotionally connect with everyone in the cast, and show that I had a harsh side even though I was the
protagonist.
For the past three years, I have developed an acting skill through dedication and perseverance.

and collecting a blood sample. Sapolsky was not going to measure the stress of the female baboons as
a majority of the females were either pregnant, going to be pregnant, or nursing. After studying and

So poor scores by the students on standardized tests will give a district lower ranking. This causes
schools to be strictly teaching to the standardized tests curriculums. So many schools and teachers
focus on teaching how to perform well on the standardized test rather than other important subjects the
students are passionate learning about. Students then start to utilize memorization techniques and
creative ways to learn on how to beat the test rather than studying on history and sciences where there
is potential to grow as a student and learn (Concordia University). These infamous tests put
unnecessary stress on the students, teachers, administrators and even school districts. Some students
are able to pick up the tricks easier than others, so they score higher. Therefore, the ACT and SAT do
not test the intelligence of a student nor the abilities of a student as the test does not follow a high
school curriculum, rather ACT and SAT are stressful tests for easy comparison nationally.
Moreover, standardized tests, ACT and SAT, are created as a fair comparison between all students as
the test is written at the same time for all students each month, administered with consistent
instructions, same allotted timing and scored in the same manner, but there are confounding variables
that affect the scores of the students (Poulsen). When a student enters a testing area, their identity is

Minoan Culture And Style
The Minoan civilization flourished in Crete. Unlike other early civilizations, Minoans accepted
equality among men and women. Women were of great importance and had authority in society, which
is evident through artifacts found of female deities and the mother goddess. Interestingly, the clothing
Minoan women wore was intricate and highly ornamented. Experts believe such elaborate clothing
was possible because of Minoan s weaving and dyeing skills and trade. Minoans used clothing mainly
for status and decoration. As civilization changed, clothing styles changed, and after political conflict,
the rich Minoan culture and style ended. However, a few style staples of Minoan dress have inspired
other clothing styles and designers. Overall, fashion is evolutionary and cyclical, and one present day
inspiration of Minoan culture can be appreciated from Mary Katrantzou s Spring Summer 2017

Her aesthetic caliber in designing and working with prints and embellishments have been recognized

Holocaust And The Moving Image Moves Through The Five...
To answer the questions formulated through the symposium, Holocaust and the Moving Image moves
through the five areas of its concentration, with the first section devoted to Film as Witness. This
section uses a number of still photographs taken from personal and archival films created by the
liberators of the Nazi camps to demonstrate how these films were acquired. Of interest is the idea that
the liberating soldiers initially charged with simple document(ary) filming soon learned to develop
and respond to a narrative of suffering and humanity that has earmarked subsequent films used in the
study of the Holocaust. Care is taken within the section, to authenticate the images and to explain their
content in such a way as to avoid pathos and sensationalism although both are inherent to the subject
matter. The editors of Holocaust and the Moving Image use careful editing and allow the reader to
consciously place themselves in the space of the soldiers collecting those first images. The
conversation surrounding the ideas and the film used as witness does stand up to the efforts of
authentication, and verifies the historical moment, though as an anthology, Holocaust and the Moving
Image is unable to provide an arena for sustained arguments on conditions of film collection and
production.
In looking at film as propaganda, as presented in this text, this reader found irony amid the facts of
documented Holocaust horror, where questions are raised as to race, class, and artistic

The Everglades skies aren t filled with as many birds anymore due to numerous reasons. One of the
saddest reasons that many animals and reptiles are losing their homes is because of humans and land
development. The beautiful of the Everglades is simply breathing all the creatures and different plant
life is a joyous site to witness. The beauty of the Everglades that past generations has witness isn t the
same that the current generations witness. As the years progress we continue to do more harm to our
beloved Everglades. We continue to push our animals to relocate and find new homes because we take
away their land for our own personal developments. The population continues to increase and that
calls for newer and better developments, more and more of the Everglades is being taking away from
plants and animals. This land that is being taken away from the plant and animal species is being
turned into communities, shopping plazas, and other new buildings. The Everglades once rumored to
be 22,000 square feet has over time become no more than 11,000 square feet. This major drop over
years and years is a result of land development. The continuation of taking land away from our animal
and plant life in the Everglades can result in horrible consequences. Animals will eventually be forced

Introduction:
The Domain Name System (DNS) is the system (or agent) responsible for resolving Domain Names
(such as www.google.com) to IP Addresses (such as 212.0.130.23), which is required to make the
Internet usable. This resolution list is distributed throughout the Internet in a hierarchy of authority.
There s normally a DNS server hosted by ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to serve their clients
(Rouse 2005). The basic operation of DNS in a single Internet resource request is shown in Figure 1
(AFNIC 2009). It functions like a database that is distributed over DNS machines that interact with
each other to be able to respond to a user s query. The top of the DNS hierarchy contains the top level
domains, such as .com, which are controlled by top level DNS servers. The DNS server
implementation which is used for this paper is BIND, which is the most widely used DNS server
implementation on the Internet today.
The Attack Surface of the DNS System:
The following are the general categories of attacks on DNS Servers, in terms of the nature of the

Improvements through laws were also made regarding the right to represent oneself in government as

Multiple voices in the United States called for the betterment in the ability for the people to be self
governed which they achieved to an extent, even when limited by the failure to fully honor and take
advantage of the reforms they passed. Blacks received the right to vote after the civil war, though this
success was limited by the fact they were still not treated as equals (Document I). However women
were furious their suffrage was not included in the amendments; the fury led to a long and hard
campaign for their rights. They felt cheated that the government of the United States was sympathetic
with people around the world who weren t self governed, but turned a blind eye to the fact that
significant number of their own citizens could not vote either (Document H). Through unions and
associations, marches on the capitol and works of literature despite the reluctance to grant them their

A decade following the 9/11 tragedy, two Muslim passengers, Masudur Rahman, an instructor of
Arabic at the University of Memphis, and Mohamed Zaghloul, a religious leader at the Islamic

the other passengers felt uncomfortable and frightened by their appearance and the clothes they worn

The representation of Muslims and Islam in the mainstream media such as films has been constantly

The Human Body In Greek Art
Almost seven feet tall, a life like sculpture stands, broad and muscular, in the middle of the National

many ancient Greek sculptures surviving, as good as new, till this day. On the other side of the world
stands the New York Kouros at the Metropolitan Museum, rigid and awkward, and all together
unrealistic. However, Greek art, especially Greek sculpture and vase painting has not always portrayed
the human body in such a perfect and idealistic way. Up until 500 BCE, Greek sculpture and statuary
specifically were completely different to what is seen and defined as Greek sculpture today while
Greek vase painting and other representations of the human body maintained their less realistic style.

Automobiles and the American Society
The Automobile and American Society
Before the invention of the automobile, travel was a very difficult thing. Horses and carriages were
needed to transport a person from one place to another. Consequently, many people lived their entire
lives without travelling much further than the outskirts of the village or town in which they were born.
Since there was little travel, locations which had attracted enough people grew into large metropolitan
cities where anything that a person needed could be obtained within a short distance from their front
doors. The large cities attracted even more people because these then became the locations where the
most profitable jobs could be found. Once employment was found, the person would move into the
city and raise their family who would then contribute to the growth of the city. This is how things were
until the automobile was invented. Few people who first encountered the machine could know that it
would forever change the geographic and sociological makeup of the United States of America, but
that is what it did. Trains had already been invented and people could travel from one side of the
country to the other, but they could only go to the destinations which had railroad lines. The
automobile gave the individual the ability to choose their own destination both physically and
metaphorically. By the end of the 1920s more than 26 million cars were produced, one for

Assessment And Data Driven Instruction
Assessment: What is it good for? Rationale Assessment and data driven instruction are a vital part of
teaching. Assessments are used frequently to guide the proceeding lessons. I am interested in learning
more about the different types of assessments and the appropriate uses of each. I think it is critical as a
future teacher to have many resources to back up my techniques, especially with the growing interest
in data and tracking students progress. Gathering information about assessments will allow me to
broaden my own techniques and strategies that I use in the classroom, more specifically the ways in
which I grade and provide feedback on assessments so that students can use that feedback in a positive
way. In my past experiences I have noticed my cooperating teachers providing grades on all
assessments with no feedback because they want the students to correct their own mistakes. This may
work on summative assessments but I think that there needs to be comments on formative assessments
so that students know how to correct their mistakes for the end of the unit tests. Literature Review
Introduction Assessment is defined as any practice or task that is used to produce information about

Although self disclosure is sometimes discouraged in counseling, in this case it was important for a
few reasons. One is because for a young adolescent, as this boy was, a close family death may be the
biggest or one of the most traumatic events of their lifetime so far and she wanted to help him see that
it was a difficult but not abnormal life experience. Second, sometimes children need to be given
permission to talk about such events and know it is ok to admit difficulty in coping. Finally, then when
he asked about what she did to cope with it, it provided an opportunity to model and teach appropriate
grief and coping behaviors, which our textbook (Corr Corr, 2012) states is a common need of
bereaved children.
She shared with me about a support she recently learned about that could help him or other children
she works with in the future. In Indianapolis, Brooke s Place offers support groups and counseling for
children and adolescents dealing with grief and loss. This supportive and safe environment seems to
embody much of what Corr and Corr (2012) suggests children need when facing grief and loss. This
resource may be helpful not only for her professionally in the future, but also for me, as I hope to
work with children or families in my career.
When we were not talking about our professional role as social workers working with children,
Katrina spent a good amount of our time together talking about how she has been struggling lately
with helping her

So Get On With It If You Must
So get on with it if you must. Lionel went flaccid, and Morgane, losing interest in this game, pulled
away. However, the flogging resumed. Even now, he heard the sharp crack of the whip and felt the
searing pain of the lashes against his bare skin. The nausea that crawled up his throat that day
returned, burning his mouth. He balled his hands into fists in his lap, hoping that would cause the
trembling to subside, and he might pull himself together before he did or said something foolish. Alis
massaged his lower arm gently. You didn t swear to her. I... No, I didn t. And you were flogged over
thirty times. Alis stated this as a fact, not a question. Each time Morgane asked you to swear fealty,
you said, I am loyal to my king and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Please. No one considers you anything other than brave. Faced with assault and certain death, you
stood firm. Fought back as best you could. I wanted to die with my dignity intact, but I came so close
to cowering and submitting. If Arthur and his retinue hadn t rescued me right in time... I was a breath
away from surrendering. Tell me, Alis, what kind of man gives in? Alis laced her fingers through his.
Lionel, I must speak freely, and I hope you ll listen. She took a deep breath and blew it out. Are you
listening to yourself? You were abused and victimized by dark magic wielded by the most terrifying
sorceress ever known. Any other man would have given in straight away, just as your comrades did.
You hold yourself to a standard that a human cannot meet. And I believe that s what s causing you
pain. Allow yourself to be human, Lionel. He shook his head. I was weak. Are women who are raped
weak? Alis challenged. Of course not! It s the perpetrator s fault entirely, never the woman. The
cruelty lies in the heart of the rapist, not the person suffering abuse. Then why can t you afford
yourself the same empathy? Compassion. Understanding. Forgiveness. Lionel pulled his hands from
Alis s and strode to the dining table. Needing a distraction from the intensity of their discussion,
Lionel grabbed his goblet and poured fresh mead into the vessel until it overflowed. He took a healthy
gulp, then headed back to his seat, but Alis was

Data Assemblage And Compilation Process Improves
The seemingly qualitative nature and vague definitions of the targets suggests that the accurate
measurement of the relevant data is challenging. However a rough estimation of all the targets can
easily be made through the many collection or modeling techniques available. Despite these
approximate results, as long as the measurement methods are kept constant, targets such as 7.2 and 7.3
can be assessed. Nonetheless if the data assemblage and compilation process improves, this progress
must be factored into the comparative results. Target 7.1 is less black and white in nature, and would
need a more specific target purpose to be effectively measured. Targets 7.a and 7.b are very qualitative
and difficult to measure. They are however ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, some regions may be connected to the grid, but quality, reliability, and affordability may
render the utility inaccessible and/or outside of the individuals means CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN
E, 2014).
Target 7.2 is the easiest of the targets to measure quantitatively. The indicator of concern is renewable
energy consumption, rather than renewable energy capacity. This is because most renewable energy
sources (solar, wind, etc.) have fluctuating production cycles, which lead to large power losses
CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This data is collected by the International Energy Agency
and UN Statistics and prepared into a series of energy balance reports where the renewable and
conventional consumption can be analyzedCITATION IEAEd l 1033 (IEA, 2015 Ed). Currently the
IEA reports the renewable share constitutes 15% of the energy mixCITATION SE4151 l 1033
(SE4ALL(2), 2015). However inability to trace the source of significant components of the renewable
sector (wood/charcoal), does not differentiate between sustainable production or not.
It is not possible to accurately measure Target 7.3 directly because of the broad range of outputs
involved. Instead, the use of a proxy, energy intensity (EI) makes it possible to model energy
efficiency (EE). EI is measured by the quantity of energy required to produce a monetary unit of GDP,
and is roughly inversely proportional to EE CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This however is
not optimal, and the relationship

Of these sources, most are also found in medicine journals. These journal sources are reliable, and
accurate, except for some population and statistics data. The accuracy of statistics and population are
not entirely accurate due to rising populations and changing laws in the countries mentioned. Scope of
analysis This article will cover various topics on the castration of sexual offenders across the globe
and what some countries are discussing as treatment or punishment options. The history of the use of
castration for the purpose of treating sexual offences dates back less than a century. Also covered, will
be the drawbacks and the comparison to the positive effects of using surgical verses chemical
castration. Although it is not a particularly old practice, several tests have been performed with some
surprising results. One particular test in Korea provides a large amount of statistical data, showing
some of the various side effects and averaged results of treatment. From this test, many points and
conclusions can be drawn. Other sources provide more data that backs up these findings, and provides
many of their own findings such as the side effects and large cost of some treatment

Hexaaqua Copper Lab Report
Experimental Objectives:
Copper belongs to group 11 and is also known to be the least reactive of the first row metals. It is the
only d block metal in the first row that has a stable 1+ oxidation state however in comparison to its +2
state, the former is seen as unstable. Cu(0) is rarely stable (2) and hence this is why it is not abundant
in nature, and instead is generally extracted from ores via leaching or roasting methods. It is the +2
oxidation state that seems to dominate the majority of aqueous copper chemistry with the
characteristic blue colour of most copper solutions being an indicator for the presence of the hexaaqua
copper (II) ion (1).The aim of this experiment was to perform reactions to demonstrate the reactivity

Excess nitric acid was still present in the solution and reacted with the strong base of NaOH in order
for the solution to be neutralised. The excess NaOH allowed a double displacement or metathesis
reaction to occur. This was where the copper (II) ions react with the OH ions to produce an absolute
blue precipitate of copper hydroxide which was insoluble. Sodium nitrate however is soluble in water
and thus stayed dissolved in the solution (4). The insoluble blue precipitate observed in the reaction is
supported by this explanation. The fact that the blue litmus paper did not turn red upon addition of the
reaction mixture showed that acid was no longer present within the solution and hence the reaction

Open Door Policy Persuasive Essay
Do you believe the people of Charleston should have done more in this situation than just forgive?
Why or why not? I do not believe that the people of Charleston should have done more in the situation
of what they faced. On June 17, during a shooting at the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal
Church in Charleston, South Carolina, nine people were killed during a Bible study session by a
troubled, 21 year old boy, Dylann Roof. This situation, although disastrous, was handled in a very
peaceful and respectful way. The days following the events that unfolded showed that people do not
need violence, anger, and hate, to push their words into society. I feel that these citizens, who mourned
the loss of lives of innocent people, fulfilled a manner of respect to those who passed away. I do feel,
however, that I personally would have a harder time forgiving someone for such monstrous acts. I am
not religious, but no matter what, it isn t a thought I turn away from. Everyone finds something to
believe in. In a time of so much hate that we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If they deem in necessary, then they can, but from what I have seen, this policy had allowed many to
turn their life around. The open door policy in churches allows anyone who feels the need to find a
path that they see fit for their life. If these policies are to change, it many cut off a life line that
someone is seeking. Churches go against their mission if they change their open door policy. For a
short time, that was the only place I knew anyone, and, although I don t attend for find religion to be a
part of my path anymore, that is something that allowed me to see people in a way of faith,
nonjudgement, and love. These people have a want to come together and feel a part of something
bigger, and taking that away from them would be awful. Everyone has the right to attend church in my
opinion, but placing that on lock down, and not allowing anyone in, makes it more

My Hockey Lesson Lessons
When life gets hard, get hard back. This is the lesson I have learned through this last hockey season.
My coach, my teammates, my parents, all taught me this one lesson and from this, I became a better,
athlete, student, and probably the most important a better person. Through this essay, I will share this
lesson and how it applies to my story and hopefully, it can apply to your story as well. In 8th grade I
moved here to Camas from a small town in Alaska where hockey was a lifestyle. We moved after
tryouts however so I couldn t play that season. Over the summer I decided to go out for the team
pretty confident that I would be the best player on the team because who ever heard of big hockey in
Vancouver? That was the most I ve been wrong in a long time. The first day of tryouts I could barely
skate backwards due to not playing an entire season and I was completely blown out of the water by
my new team. Looking back they weren t even that good to be honest but compared to me at the time
they could have been NHL All Stars. That was just the beginning of one of the biggest life lessons I
would learn. My 5th practice of the season I got into a fight with one of my teammates because he
came over and started yelling at me for screwing up the drill. This was an enormous shock to me for
two reasons, first one is because it was my first hockey fight and second because it was an enormous
transition to go from being one of the best on your old team to coming to a new one and

The Pros And Cons Of The Geneva Conference
FURTHER TALKS
On 6th December Smith returned to Geneva for the conclusion of the talks and insisted on either
keeping to the Anglo American proposals or an adjournment and reconvening in Africa. Muzorewa
also returned to Salisbury to seek a mandate to strike a deal with Smith on the basis of the Kissinger
proposals and was welcomed by a large crowd estimated at 100,000. Meanwhile the Geneva
conference was adjourned until 17th January whilst Ivor Richard toured Southern Africa in search of
reaction to the idea of the British Government taking an active part during the period of interim
government. Whilst Nkomo appeared to be in favour Smith said that he rejected the idea of any
British participation in the transitional government. Internally, ... Show more content on

On 19th January Crosland announced new British proposals as a basis of negotiations. Having already
met to find a common position on the British proposals the four Frontline Presidents offered full
support to the Patriotic Front rather than Muzorewa and Sithole. Muzorewa, meanwhile, was asking
for a referendum to chose the national leader before the Geneva talks resumed. After renewed guerrilla
activity in the North East Rhodesia extended its military call up to include men aged between 38 and
50. Whilst Vorster expressed unwillingness to put pressure on Smith Kaunda threatened to seek aid
from communist countries if South Africa intervened and Nigeria offered to provide troops to fight in
Rhodesia. February saw increased effort from the United States to bring about a final solution to the
Rhodesian issue. Andrew Young, the new U.S. ambassador to the U.N. flew to Africa to meet the
frontline presidents and call for a resumption of the Geneva conference. Both Young and Vance
insisted that any support for an internal solution was dependent on the inclusion of the Patriotic Front
leaders as they were the only ones able to stop the fighting. In an attempt to break the deadlock Britain
and the USA agreed to call a conference with the African nationalists prior to reopening negotiations
with Smith. Vorster announced his support for an internal settlement and sought a new initiative which
would involve South Africa as well as the U.K. and U.S.A. Whilst Smith introduced new race laws to
allow all races to acquire agricultural land in hitherto exclusively white areas, Kaunda and Machel
discussed plans for a pan African military force in Mozambique, Zambia and Botswana and were
joined later by Angola. This was mainly in response to a threatened attack by Rhodesian forces in
Botswana

  • 2. Methods Of Design And Context Methods Design and Context A quantitative survey consisting of eight main sections and demographic information was given to international students at a Western United States land grant university. The survey s eight sections assessed students level of agreement in the eight following categories: personal life, cultural concerns, academics, university programs, health care, safety, and the International Students and Scholars Office (ISS). The questions were evaluated on a standard 5 point Likert type scale. In addition, open ended responses were elicited for country of origin and religious beliefs to ensure possibly answers were not omitted by the research team. Questions were divided into the eight categories to make the survey process easier for respondents while also preserving internal validity of the questionnaire. The survey was sent via email through the ISS office to the entire international student population of 862 students. 63 students responded to the survey, giving a response rate of 6.54%. This was significantly lower than the researcher s target of 25%, but the response rate was typical for this student population (Porter Whitcomb, 2007). Participants Demographic and group comparison information was collected in order to account for differences in geographic location, religious beliefs, gender, age, and time at the university. International students are often grouped together as one statistical category, but the differences present are numerous and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Health And Weight Loss Have you ever wondered why Coca Cola now comes in versions such as light and zero ? If you have, chances are that you mentally answered your question by saying that the company read your mind and was fulfilling your desire to lose weight while still indulging in your favorite beverage. However, the relationship between you and the food giants is quite the opposite. What you think is healthy or unhealthy is based on research funded by companies that profit off of your food choices, currently, much of the research regarding health and weight loss is funded by companies such as Coca Cola and Kellogg therefore therefore, you are the one fulfilling their desire (CBS, 2015). The idea that large companies and the media dictate our daily lives has slowly become common knowledge. Therefore, one must be cautious in regards of the sources he or she trusts. For instance, Steve Blair, who conducts research that supports the idea that obesity in America is due to lack of physical activity as opposed to calorie consumption has much of his research funded by Coca Cola, a company which is largely known for its calorie packed drinks and snacks. Moreover, while Blair s research might be supported by relevant data, so was the research that justified smoking. Nonetheless, the way data is analyzed can be extremely biased based on who is paying for the collection and analysis of such data (Freedhoff, 2015). The increase in the obese population is both an opportunity and a liability to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. An Argument Against Affirmative Action Essay Paved with Good Intentions: An Argument Against Affirmative Action Out of the jaws of civil war, the new United States had emerged. Broken and burning and minus 620,000 men, a new challenge lay before the nation: social equality. How would we address the sickening grievances endured by these African American now citizens? That question has hallmarked fiery debates from dinner tables all the way to the Supreme Court for more than a century. During the Civil Rights Movement, millions of American citizens demonstrated across the country in pursuit of fairness, and famously in his I Have a Dream speech, Dr. Martin Luther King championed the idea of a country that saw no color, but based judgement on the content of character. Through decades of policy, our government implemented social reform within institutions of education and employment. Collectively known as Affirmative Action, this social reform established racial preferences in favor of minority groups at the expense of whites and Asians. This social reform was unquestionably established in good faith, but into what has this festered now? The pursuit of fairness is perhaps the most American in spirit, and a goal toward which we all strive together. Unfortunately, the policies collectively known as Affirmative Action, however well intended, have further widened the boundaries between us through some ideal of righteous discrimination. The time has come, it seems, that our government and our nation rethink the policies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Death Of A Bachelor Analysis Panic! At the Disco s latest album Death Of A Bachelor is a wonderful album but the album is not a memorable album. The album itself can be about two things the first being a man who used to party extremely hard tried to be forgiven by God but sadly ended up dying and then hopes he will be remembered after his death. The other thing this album could be about is how a guy who used to party hard was forgiven by God then married a woman who turned out to be abusive and then he talks about after fighting what it was like before they fought and how he hopes he is remembered by his ex. The album starts out with fast upbeat songs and by the end of the album in the song Impossible Year the beat is slow as well as the singing and it is a very saddening song. The final song in the album Impossible Year is an extremely gloomy compared to the first song with a slower beat more melodic singing and gloomy lyrics. The album can be compared to an actual relationship at the beginning of the album it is all happy and fun like when you first start dating someone. • 6. The Atomic Bomb Essays August 6th, 1945, 70,0000 lives were ended in a matter of seconds. The United States had dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Today many argue whether or not the U.S. should have taken such a drastic measure. Was it entirely necessary that we drop such a devastating weapon? To answer that first we must look at was going on in the world at the time of the conflict. The U.S. had been fighting a massive war since 1941. Moral was most likely low, and resources were at the same level as moral. Still both sides continued to fight and both were determined to win. Obviously the best thing that could have possibly happened would have been to bring the war to a quick end with a minimum of allied casualties. Harry Truman s decision to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We shall continue to use it until we completely destroy Japan s power to make war. This quote embodies the spirit of the American people of the time. The public was eager for a quick end to the war and American casualties. Also Truman threatens to utilize the A bomb s power again until we are victorious. In hindsight it is clear the correct decision was made. How can anyone be certain that Japan would have continued to fight? It is possible that they were preparing for surrender, no one can say for certain exactly what would have happened but by examining evidence of Japanese culture and warfare it is obvious that would not have been the case. At the time of WWII systematic and organized education made efficient quot;brainwashing quot; possible. In public schools, students were taught to die for the emperor. By late 1944, a slogan of Jusshi Reisho meaning, quot;Sacrifice life, quot; was taught. In addition to civilian s dedication to their country, there was a group of military pilots called the Kamikaze. Kamikaze were suicide pilots. They would load up an airplane and try to nose dive it into an enemy target. Think about what must be on that pilot s mind. Imagine the undying love for his country. He would fight to the bitter end for his emperor. The most frightening part of this is that the entire Japanese military thought this way. Both had instant friends and instant enemies. Attending school is perhaps a taste of normalcy in their lives, except that their past still haunted and defined their characters. Harry was known at school as the boy who lived having survived the attack of a notorious wizard (Rowling 18); while Jane had to carry with her the rude description that her aunt made of her which is deceitful which resulted in her being labeled as liar. As a result, both Harry and Jane had to face the difficulty of trying to fit in and at times, had to bear the bitter consequences. Hard as it may seem, Harry and Jane managed to get through the most difficult phases at school and eventually found solace and comfort in the company of their true friends. She moved her fingers in front of Helen s eyes and then desperately moved her hand in search of a reaction, but she got no response. 2. For instance, it states Helen topples Martha on her back, knees pinning her shoulders down, and grabs the scissors, Martha screams (Gibson 9). This quote shows how out of control Helen has gotten. It shows the lack of discipline she receives because of how she doesn t have any manners whatsoever. 3. Why Is Spread Betting Different? Spread betting has become more popular in horse racing in recent years, although it started out as being more popular in sports such as American football, rugby and cricket; sports where there is potentially a large flexibility in the winning margin. It is also a popular method of betting for those who trade the financial markets. • 17. What Is The Ethical Code Of Ethics Paran, Kate Gabrielle Resurreccion, Diandra Mae Rosales, Lyka INTRODUCTION Ethics is basically a common thing that the world expects for an individual to possess. This is concerned solely with moral values and principles of individuals. According to an American Judge, Potter Stewart Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do. This states that every individual differs from perceptions of their minds about what you have a right to do and what is the right thing to do. What you have a right to do indicate the individual s ability to do what is legal, but this doesn t necessarily mean it is the right thing to do. Ethics is different from law, sometimes people misinterpret this and do things that they are required to do rather than what they are allowed to do which unconsciously leads them with doing unethical things. For rough surfaces, the same powdering process is used, but instead of using regular lifting tape for these prints, scientists use something that will get into the grooves of the surface such as a gel lifter or Microcell (a silicone casting material). Once a print is collected, analysis can begin. During analysis, examiners determine whether there is enough information present in the print to be used for identification. This includes determining class and individual characteristics for the unknown print. To answer the questions formulated through the symposium, Holocaust and the Moving Image moves through the five areas of its concentration, with the first section devoted to Film as Witness. This section uses a number of still photographs taken from personal and archival films created by the liberators of the Nazi camps to demonstrate how these films were acquired. Of interest is the idea that the liberating soldiers initially charged with simple document(ary) filming soon learned to develop and respond to a narrative of suffering and humanity that has earmarked subsequent films used in the study of the Holocaust. Care is taken within the section, to authenticate the images and to explain their content in such a way as to avoid pathos and sensationalism although both are inherent to the subject matter. The editors of Holocaust and the Moving Image use careful editing and allow the reader to consciously place themselves in the space of the soldiers collecting those first images. The conversation surrounding the ideas and the film used as witness does stand up to the efforts of authentication, and verifies the historical moment, though as an anthology, Holocaust and the Moving Image is unable to provide an arena for sustained arguments on conditions of film collection and production. The representation of Muslims and Islam in the mainstream media such as films has been constantly depicted in a stereotypical way even after the 9/11 incident. Having reviewed more than a thousand films made since 1896, Dr Jack G. • 38. The Human Body In Greek Art Almost seven feet tall, a life like sculpture stands, broad and muscular, in the middle of the National Archeological Museum, Naples, Italy. Made of bronze yet so full of life, the Spear Bearer is one of many ancient Greek sculptures surviving, as good as new, till this day. On the other side of the world stands the New York Kouros at the Metropolitan Museum, rigid and awkward, and all together unrealistic. However, Greek art, especially Greek sculpture and vase painting has not always portrayed the human body in such a perfect and idealistic way. Up until 500 BCE, Greek sculpture and statuary specifically were completely different to what is seen and defined as Greek sculpture today while Greek vase painting and other representations of the human body maintained their less realistic style. The Greeks not only developed but also improved their artwork of the human figure throughout Early Greece only to present a better and more idealistic image of sculpture using naturalism and realism towards the Classical period. ... Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the swelling of the surrounding tendons produced by repetitive movements of the hand for a long time. The median nerve will then swell and start to have a burning tingling sensation and it will feel like your whole hand has fallen asleep. • 40. Automobiles and the American Society The Automobile and American Society Before the invention of the automobile, travel was a very difficult thing. Horses and carriages were needed to transport a person from one place to another. Consequently, many people lived their entire lives without travelling much further than the outskirts of the village or town in which they were born. Since there was little travel, locations which had attracted enough people grew into large metropolitan cities where anything that a person needed could be obtained within a short distance from their front doors. The large cities attracted even more people because these then became the locations where the most profitable jobs could be found. Once employment was found, the person would move into the city and raise their family who would then contribute to the growth of the city. This is how things were until the automobile was invented. Few people who first encountered the machine could know that it would forever change the geographic and sociological makeup of the United States of America, but that is what it did. Trains had already been invented and people could travel from one side of the country to the other, but they could only go to the destinations which had railroad lines. The automobile gave the individual the ability to choose their own destination both physically and metaphorically. By the end of the 1920s more than 26 million cars were produced, one for approximately every five people of the United States (Faragher 2009, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Assessment And Data Driven Instruction Assessment: What is it good for? Rationale Assessment and data driven instruction are a vital part of teaching. Assessments are used frequently to guide the proceeding lessons. I am interested in learning more about the different types of assessments and the appropriate uses of each. I think it is critical as a future teacher to have many resources to back up my techniques, especially with the growing interest in data and tracking students progress. Gathering information about assessments will allow me to broaden my own techniques and strategies that I use in the classroom, more specifically the ways in which I grade and provide feedback on assessments so that students can use that feedback in a positive way. In my past experiences I have noticed my cooperating teachers providing grades on all assessments with no feedback because they want the students to correct their own mistakes. This may work on summative assessments but I think that there needs to be comments on formative assessments so that students know how to correct their mistakes for the end of the unit tests. Literature Review Introduction Assessment is defined as any practice or task that is used to produce information about student learning, and is categorized as either formative or summative (Wallace White, 2014). There is a distinct difference between the various types of assessments, specifically formative and summative. Formative assessments are informal quizzes that are used to guide instruction ... Much of the information has come from Death Dying, Life Living (Corr Corr, 2012), which offers a fairly comprehensive look at death, dying, and bereavement. This textbook has taught about death and dying from many perspectives, including the legal, philosophical, psychological, and social aspects of it. We began the semester by looking at our own history of loss and how it has impacted our attitude towards death. To continue extending our study outside of the classroom, we were instructed to discuss loss, grief, and bereavement experiences with someone we do not personally know well. One is because for a young adolescent, as this boy was, a close family death may be the biggest or one of the most traumatic events of their lifetime so far and she wanted to help him see that it was a difficult but not abnormal life experience. Second, sometimes children need to be given permission to talk about such events and know it is ok to admit difficulty in coping. Finally, then when he asked about what she did to cope with it, it provided an opportunity to model and teach appropriate grief and coping behaviors, which our textbook (Corr Corr, 2012) states is a common need of bereaved children. She shared with me about a support she recently learned about that could help him or other children she works with in the future. • 44. Data Assemblage And Compilation Process Improves The seemingly qualitative nature and vague definitions of the targets suggests that the accurate measurement of the relevant data is challenging. However a rough estimation of all the targets can easily be made through the many collection or modeling techniques available. Despite these approximate results, as long as the measurement methods are kept constant, targets such as 7.2 and 7.3 can be assessed. Nonetheless if the data assemblage and compilation process improves, this progress must be factored into the comparative results. Target 7.1 is less black and white in nature, and would need a more specific target purpose to be effectively measured. Targets 7.a and 7.b are very qualitative and difficult to measure. Target 7.2 is the easiest of the targets to measure quantitatively. The indicator of concern is renewable energy consumption, rather than renewable energy capacity. This is because most renewable energy sources (solar, wind, etc.) have fluctuating production cycles, which lead to large power losses CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This data is collected by the International Energy Agency and UN Statistics and prepared into a series of energy balance reports where the renewable and conventional consumption can be analyzedCITATION IEAEd l 1033 (IEA, 2015 Ed). Currently the IEA reports the renewable share constitutes 15% of the energy mixCITATION SE4151 l 1033 (SE4ALL(2), 2015). However inability to trace the source of significant components of the renewable sector (wood/charcoal), does not differentiate between sustainable production or not. It is not possible to accurately measure Target 7.3 directly because of the broad range of outputs involved. Instead, the use of a proxy, energy intensity (EI) makes it possible to model energy efficiency (EE). EI is measured by the quantity of energy required to produce a monetary unit of GDP, and is roughly inversely proportional to EE CITATION UNE14 l 1033 (UN E, 2014). This situation, although disastrous, was handled in a very peaceful and respectful way. The days following the events that unfolded showed that people do not need violence, anger, and hate, to push their words into society. I feel that these citizens, who mourned the loss of lives of innocent people, fulfilled a manner of respect to those who passed away. Through this essay, I will share this lesson and how it applies to my story and hopefully, it can apply to your story as well. In 8th grade I moved here to Camas from a small town in Alaska where hockey was a lifestyle. We moved after tryouts however so I couldn t play that season. Over the summer I decided to go out for the team pretty confident that I would be the best player on the team because who ever heard of big hockey in Vancouver? That was the most I ve been wrong in a long time. The first day of tryouts I could barely skate backwards due to not playing an entire season and I was completely blown out of the water by my new team. Looking back they weren t even that good to be honest but compared to me at the time they could have been NHL All Stars. That was just the beginning of one of the biggest life lessons I would learn. My 5th practice of the season I got into a fight with one of my teammates because he came over and started yelling at me for screwing up the drill. This was an enormous shock to me for two reasons, first one is because it was my first hockey fight and second because it was an enormous transition to go from being one of the best on your old team to coming to a new one and ...
