In this modern era, social media has become an inseparable part of our daily life. It has become a
modem of communication. People from distance places get connected with each other which has made
has the world smaller virtually. Today it has been possible for me to know about family and friends
being abroad. With over 1 billion user, Facebook has become the most popular sites among all the
social media sites. Facebook is a site where people get to share their feelings. People of different age
group and use Facebook for different purpose reflecting different personalities. First of all, the school
and college students use Facebook for entertainment. This site has major impact on school and college
students. Today we can see every teenager carrying a smart phone and using Facebook. For these
youngsters face book is a platform to show off and gain attention. We can see pictures, videos,
comment, and status of these people who have not seen the world yet, and think that they know
everything about life and things around them. For instance, we can see a 14 years old posting about
life. Similarly, some of the students use Facebook as a dating site. They add people and start taking to
them. After some time, we usually see those people uploading photos with their girlfriend or boyfriend
and after a week getting separated. The people of this age group use face book to show themselves
how popular they are. They add people just to increase their friend list and to increase the number of

Deaf Culture And Interpreters History
American Deaf Culture and Interpreters History Deaf culture in is one of America s many sub
cultures, which means that it is a culture imbedded into the overall culture of the nation. What is
unique about the deaf culture is that at times it is a sub culture of a sub culture, of a culture, for
example the deaf community in Colorado is a sub culture of Colorado s culture, and Colorado culture
is a sub culture of the American culture. It can get even more complicated than even that, because say
there is an African American deaf culture in the deaf community that adds another deaf culture. It is
also unique and set apart from other cultures because of the language barrier between the deaf
community and the hearing community. Deaf culture has only recently been accepted by the general
public, as well as they have not always had access to an interpreter. Deaf culture has changed
drastically since before the 1960 s.
In today s society deaf culture is not considered to be a population of animal like humans, but that was
not the case before the 1960 s. In the past people who were deaf did not live normal lives, they were in
a way the outcasts. If you were born deaf before the 1960 s there were not many options for the deaf,
often times they were looked down upon and thought of as glorified animals. Because they were
viewed as animals they were not accepted into the mainstream schools, even though there were a few
institutes for the deaf, a lot of times families could not afford

Determining Mastery For Instructional Strategies
Determining Mastery for Instructional Strategies Determining mastery can be a complex procedure
even for the most experienced educators. It involves not only a designated percentage on assessments,
but also must take into account the cognitive complexity of the assessment as well as the nature of the
learning goal students are being asked to master. This further requires consideration for the rigor of
expectations set for students performance (Guskey, 2001). An assessment can contain items or tasks
that are so challenging that even students who receive a low cutoff score can be deemed as having
achieved mastery. For example, think about the Graduate Records Examination (GRE). Though a
student may only answer half of the test questions for the GRE physics exam correctly, due to the
complexity of the questions, they will have performed better than over 70 percent of those who take
the test. Another factor in determining mastery is professional judgement. Like it or not, scores on
assessments aren t always completely accurate and some level of professional judgement is required to
adjust scores for error, for example, slightly lowering the score out of concern for false rejection or
incorrectly classifying a master as a non master (Guskey Andermann, 2014). This false rejection could
be detrimental for borderline students in that it would affect their confidence and their desire to
continue pursuing mastery as well as causing otherwise talented students not to pass a

Yuan Shikai agreed to the Republic and forced the last emperor of China, Henry Puyi, to abdicate on
February 12.
V. Narration
After being selected as the Last Emperor of China by the ill Empress Dowager Tzu Hsi, Henry Pu yi
at his childhood lived a lavish life not knowing of what obligations will face him in growing up. At the
age of 6 in the year of 1912, China converts to republic and the Ching Dynasty was forced to abdicate.
As Pu Yi grows up he was free to do whatever he wants, living the life of an emperor but was locked
up in the Forbidden City deprived of the modern customs. Guided by the British Tutor, Reginald
Johnston, Pu Yi became so captivated to foreigners and believed of them as the wisest and most
civilized. Thus made him interested in Western things, and came up with his English name Henry . He
was married at 18 with two wives, Wen Hsiu and Wan Jung.
On November 5, 1924 officials entered the palace with a revision of the Articles of Favorable
Treatment that stated, the Emperor s position shall be abolished making Pu yi an ordinary citizen. He
was required to abandon the Forbidden City and sought asylum from the Japanese Embassy and soon
was sent to Tientsin.
It was in Tientsin that Pu Yi decided to go abroad but ended up staying there for seven years, in which
he wavered back and forth between different factions among his advisers.
In 1931, Japan occupied Machuria and Pu Yi was asked to be the Chief Executive and soon

Yeah, because we do a lot for the community. We do our heart walk, which is coming up on October
28th. We also do a red dress gala in the spring. All the money that we raise we donate to womens heart
health. We also do things like go to nursing homes, soup kitchens, charity events. Our sister has a
lupus walk coming up. We also do a lot of things together like going to get food, hang out on the
weekends, shopping, and lazy days in.

get both angles of all the things the Student Involvement Centers does to help students get involved
and also how it helped them to make friends. Hopeful, I emailed them. I never got anything back. So, I
searched for a phone number with no luck and emailed them again. By this time, I knew I had to
change my story a little bit and get a new person to interview. My backup plan was to interview a
sorority girl about how going greek helped her make friends. I was going to go in the O (which is
where all the sororities and fraternities hang out and have offices) and ask if anyone would like to do
an interview for me. The more I thought about this the more I realized how much of an awful plan it
was. Instead, I remembered there was a sorority girl in my philosophy class. I asked her if she could
do an interview and she was busy until later that week. I had finally got everything straightened

however, the main issue is a lack of support and respect for our teachers. Instead of working on
maintaining and providing support for our current educators, the conversation usually surrounds
expensive and often ineffective recruitment programs. The harsh fact is that it is very expensive to live
in our valley and the current teacher salary/benefits are not enough to attract top talent. We need to
have a serious conversation with our teachers in order to learn what incentives they need to be

Regulated Environments Shape Management
FMC Integra are similar in that they offer medical devices regulated, in the U.S., by the Code of
Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 21 Part 820. This U.S. regulation serves as a set of business
requirements designed to assure companies operate in a state of compliance. This state of compliance
helps to support safe and effective patient outcomes. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
govern this set of requirements through routine inspections designed to determine a company s
conformance. Failure to comply can result in fines and/or a loss of distribution privileges within the
U.S.
Working in a highly regulated industry such as medical devices, puts additional burden on the
managing organization s ability to manage operations and promote products and services. The right
people can help differentiate one organization from the next. Organizations and businesses can
emulate successful companies. They are able to make their buildings look the same. They can set up
the offices and organizations the same. They can use the same equipment and manufacturing
processes, however all of this imitation does not guarantee a successful outcome. The one element that
cannot be imitated is the people. Ultimately patents run out, competitors can imitate products, and
competition in a profitable business segment increases. Successful

Nursing Home Case Study
The duty of nursing homes is to exercise that degree of care, skill and diligence used by nursing
homes in the community. A nursing home does not have to apply the same standard care as a hospital.
Consequently, what is considered negligence in a hospital does not necessary mean it apply to a
nursing home. The duty of a nursing homes depend upon the patient s condition. The patient s
physical and mental ability is determined by the court (Alcoy v Valley Nursing Homes, Inc., 272 S E
2d 301 (Sup. Ct., Va. 2006). Although treatment of a patient is the physician responsibility, a nursing
home can be held liability for transferring a patient that require special precautions to a hospital

In Deerings West Nursing Center v. Scott, a nursing home was found liable for an assault performed
by a unlicensed aide with a criminal background on a elderly visitor. Under the doctrine of negligent,
the only negligence was the employer fail to do a criminal background, and thereby, causing harm to
others (Mangolis, 1995).
When a nursing home resident is not capable of providing care for themselves, the nursing home is
obligated to supervise care and protect the patients from physical dangerous that may either cause
harm to self or others (Mangolis, 1995).
The administrator also stated the nursing home was failed to protect the resident from assault. In
assault cases, the court looked to see if the nursing documented anything pertaining to the patient s
assailant. The nursing home had no knowledge of the assailant s violent propensities, so the court look
to see if the nursing home might have thought the patient s safety was in jeopardized. If evidence

Aristotle s Views On Politics
Politics is a political philosophical work by Aristotle, a fourth century Greek Philosopher, logician and
scientist. Along with his teacher Plato, Aristotle is considered as one of the most influential ancient
thinkers of political theory in western civilization. Therefore, it is important to understand the gist of
his work Politics from our perspective. Influenced by Plato s Republic and Laws, Politics presents
synthesis of lifetime political thoughts and observations. The philosopher attempts to answer many
questions such as; the relation between states and people, harnessing the best life style of citizens, best
education, type of constituents, democracy, inequality and slavery. These are crucial topics in present
world politics as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Becoming biased towards Greek, he supports slavery. Aristotle relates citizenship with holding of
public office and administration of justice. According to him, those are citizens whose parents were
also citizens. This depicts Aristotle being conservative philosopher of Greece where citizenship was
given to only privileged class. He opposed the idea of citizenship to foreigners, slaves and women.
According to him, the latter group of people don t have moral and intellectual skills to hold public
offices.
One of the remarkable issues in Politics is about good citizen and good men. According to the work,
good citizen and good men are different things. Good citizen knows how to rule and how to obey. A
good man is one who is suitable to rule. But a good citizen knows how to rule abiding by the
rule. Therefore, for Aristotle, citizenship was a matter of moral training as well.
Another important aspect of Politics is its explanation about constitutions. There are 6 types of
constitutions. Among them, three are just and three are unjust. A constitution becomes just when it
benefits all in the city states while the same becomes unjust if it benefits the ruler only. He considers
the mix of democracy and oligarchy will allow the best constitution.
In Books IV to VI, Aristotle moves towards the practical examination of political institutions. He
found the differences between needs of city states due to differences in wealth , population distribution

Essay on The Influence of Ethics on Decision Making
The Influence of Ethics on Decision Making
Ethics can have a big influence on decision making in the workplace. Ethical behavior in the
workplace is behavior that is accepted as morally right, rather than wrong. (Organizational Behavior).
Unethical behavior can be considered illegal, or merely against the norms of society. Employees
encounter ethical decisions every day in the workplace, whether they realize it or not. The stock boy
must make a decision on whether it is right to steal merchandise. The auto mechanic must make a
decision on what is a fair price to charge a gullible customer. The CEO must decide how to use all the
power he or she possesses. There are many different thinking about ethical behavior, and different

The Impact of Technology on Work Related Stress
Technology can have a great impact on work related stress. Technology can both increase and
decrease work related stress, depending on how it is used. Many people feel stress in the work
environment when change is introduced. When basic tasks or structures in the workplace change, it
often goes hand in hand with changes in technology. (Organizational Behavior). Employees then
experience stress because of the change in the way things are done, or frustration because they don t
understand how to properly utilize that technology to their advantage. This can happen with almost
any new technology, from a new computer tracking system to a new cash register at a supermarket.
However, sometimes technology can ease work related stress, because it can make doing a job easier
than before that technology was available in the workplace. A good example of technology easing
workplace stress is faxes that come straight to an employee s email. That way, the employee can keep
a record of the fax in his or her computer, and doesn t have to wait by a community fax machine for an
important paper to come in.

These corals were major to the animals, if not significant to the reef as well. They were home to

King County Emergency Medical Systems Essay
Emergency medical services is the process of treating patients, transporting them to the hospital, and
providing immediate care according to the patient s condition. Without Emergency Medical Services
(EMS), some patients may not survive the trip to the hospital. Thus, the most important motivator for
establishing emergency medical services systems was to reduce losses of life by providing treatment
from specialized medical providers during transportation to the hospital. There have been many
concerns about the effectiveness of operation and the procedures of the emergency medical systems in
providing care to patients. Accordingly, King County Emergency Medical Services of Washington
state have taken great care to develop a system that improves the patient s outcome through providing
immediate medical care.
The emergency care system works under the Seattle Fire Department and operates with emergency
departments at local hospitals, dispatch centers, and private ambulance providers, as well as the fire

The Virtessity Of Benjamin Franklin s Values Of Morality
How should one act in their everyday lives to best maximize human efficiency? This question
spawned Benjamin Franklin s 13 virtues as he sought so live the rest of his days with poise and proper
manners. He wrote his 13 virtues for human improvement so that any person could follow them and
achieve maximum human efficiency. One of his virtues, frugality, is shown throughout many different
stories and is described by Benjamin Franklin as Make no expense but to do good to others or
yourself; i.e., waste nothing. This idea of frugality is necessary to hold yourself properly when in the
company of others and allows a person to act in a manner of moderation and kindness. Many people
throughout many different literary works have portrayed this quality including the farmer in de
Crevecoeur s Letters from an American Farmer , Mother Shipton in The Outskirts of Poker Flat , and
Lucinda Matlock In de Crevecoeur s Letters from an American Farmer a man describes the vast
differences he sees in the new world compared to his previous life in Europe. He compares the two
countries and begins to find the vast differences between them. Because America is a relatively
underdeveloped country many people must turn to agriculture in order to produce enough food to
survive. This necessity leads to frugality as any waste could lead to severe starvation and death.
Without frugality in a nation such as America and the occupation of being a farmer, all excess food

The Second World War The Second World War had three major axis powers. They were Germany,
Italy, and Japan. The Axis were the countries that had expansionist plans. Only Japan was not a fascist

of an Axis in 1936. Italy and Japan accepted Hitler s offer. Japan recognized the leadership of
Germany and Italy in establishment of a new order in Europe. Furthermore, Germany and Italy

African American Slavery Case Study
The establishment of slavery has profoundly had an impact on the lives of African Americans both
during the slavery period and after it. Many innocent Africans were taken from their home continent
of Africa and brought to various places throughout the world to be sold off as slaves and forced into a
system of free labor. But the system of slavery in America was a profitable, lucrative and harsh
system. Slaves faced many obstacles during the period of slavery, and after the Civil War when all
slaves were officially considered free. They were brought here against their own will, many died along
the way here, typically from malnutrition or disease. The ones that survived were often forced into
labor, separated from the families, typically working on farms/plantations. Farm life for slaves was
considered brutal, many worked long hours in harsh conditions, typically in severe weather, and
continuous labor with little time for breaks or rests. The death of many slaves was often linked to
slaves being overworked, along with the health risks that they suffered, usually caused by the
cultivation of cash crops such as tobacco and cotton. Even though slaves faced many obstacles in
America, they never lost a sense of the culture and tried to preserve as much of their traditions and
values. Even through many of the major obstacles that both enslaved and free African Americans
faced. The biggest obstacle, that they faced was discrimination. One example of blacks being

Description And Description Of The Meyers Briggs Personality
Upon completing the Meyers Briggs Personality Test I discovered that I was an INFJ. The description
and typical personality traits exemplified who I am. Often, I am described as mysterious and difficult
to understand. Despite going above and beyond to assist others in around me I keep my thoughts,
ideas, and emotions closely guarded. Determining how to phrase my thoughts, ideas and emotions is
very difficult and the words often become jumbled in my head. For this reason I am often hesitant to
share them with others. When I do present ideas or suggestions they are often regarded as unique and
creative. People often come to me for ideas or solutions to problems, knowing that I will work until I
come up with a solution. I poses the unique ability to understand and connect with a wide variety of
people and personality traits. This makes me a well rounded individual who has the capability of being
a great leader, teacher, employee, student, and friend. Being and INFJ has a lot of positive traits that I
feel will benefit me during my education and career.
I took the Multiple Intelligences Self Assessment quiz. When I taught preschool and as the trainer for
my department I have learned that there are many different methods in which people learn. I adapted
how I taught and train based on what is required by the learner. Due to this I was curious to determine
the variety of learning methods that work best for me. I discovered that I have a broad range of ways

Character Analysis Of Morris Lurie s Running Nicely
Running nicely is a short story written by Morris Lurie, about two orphan brothers: the protagonist,
Moses, a twenty two years old young man and the antagonist, Ben, his younger brother. The story is
set during the night at ten PM, in the streets in suburban Melbourne. When the two brothers are
running, Moses realizes he has difficulty accepting that Ben is getting older, and that his younger
brother is now running faster than him. The author suggests that family relationships after a loss may
result in being abnormal and can have consequences on one s development and behavior. The author
effectively conveys this theme through his use of characterization, narrative point of view and irony.
To begin, the characterization of Moses in relation with his brother Ben demonstrates how the
protagonist is struggling to be a perfect father substitute, after both parents passing away. Moses
makes Ben grow too fast by doing adult type activities, like showing him jazz music, making him
watch old movies and making him read books about war. By getting his brother learn about other
things instead of watching the TV like their neighbors, he feels proud about how [...] he has weaned
his brother, a former three hours a nigh man, off that awful habit. (2). After the death of their parents,
Moses must take the responsibility of a father, but ends up controlling Ben too much by trying to
educate him as an adult, while he is only twelve years old. By striving for perfection, Moses

Criminal Law Does Not Punish People For Commit A Crime
CRIMINAL ATTEMPT:::: Introduction: Criminal law does not punish people for aiming to commit a
crime, but it identifies that conduct intended at committing a crime may be just as to blame if it fails to
reach its aims as if it had been successful. Hence, the offence of attempt existed at common law but it
is now regulated by statute, the Criminal Attempts Act 1981. ACTUS REUS OF ATTEMPT The 1981
Act imposes liability on those who do an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission
of the offence. Although the jury must decide whether there is evidence on which a jury could find
that there has been such an act, the test of whether the defendant s acts have gone beyond the merely
preparatory stage is essentially a question of fact for the jury S.4(3) of the 1981 Act. Furthermore, an
offender may be guilty of attempting to commit a particular offence where he does not complete the
full offence, but has taken sufficient steps for his conduct to be classed as criminal by law. An attempt
is a statutory offence and is charged under S.1 (1) of the Criminal Attempts Act 1981. Which stated
that a defendant is guilty of attempting to commit an offence if the defendant take steps which are
more than merely preparatory towards the commission of that offence . S.1 (4) of the Act also stated
that, a defendant may only be convicted under the Act of an Attempt of an indictable offence (i.e, an
indictable only offence or an offence or an offence triable either way). A

Summary Of Into The Wild, By Jon Krakauer
Jon Krakauer, released a nonfiction novel in the winter of January 1996, he created a book that told
the true story about a young man of the age 24 by the name of Christopher Johnson McCandless. The
book clutches that young man s family lives and conceives to his parents, Billie and Walt McCandless
and also his sister Carine, that Christopher s life was of great significance and was very much
appreciated, it also lays a footprint in the lives that McCandless had met before he also met his
untimely demise. Krakauer s ultimate purpose of constructing the book, Into the Wild was to
determine what exactly happened to Christopher McCandless on the Stampede Trail. Krakauer set out
to discover Christopher s exact, precise motive on why he truly decided ... Show more content on

Krakauer did in fact believe that Christopher Johnson McCandless was completely sane. The question
of why would a man, who had great potential and many spoils want to venture out and make a life in
the wilderness where he has just his name and a handful of items? Krakauer discussed that he found
evidence that McCandless didn t seek out after the materialistic items which his parents offered him,
that s why his reaction to the car offer was greatly dramatic. Krakauer has written the novel Into the
Wild to use as a cautionary tale to say that the trait of happiness isn t merely a trait at all. Happiness is
indeed a characteristic that must be shared among others in order to be true happiness. I HAVE HAD
A HAPPY LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL! (199.)
Krakauer described McCandless as a man who faced death and stared it in the face but, after all that
had happened to him he was at peace, serene as a monk gone to God.

Paul s Contribution to Christianity
It seems strange that so little is known biographically about one of the most important figures in
Christian history, but this only serves to add to the mystery and grandeur surrounding the Apostle Paul
of Tarsus. Much, however, is known of the time after his conversion to Christ and what he did to
contribute to Christianity in this period, and it is this that leaves a greater legacy than the simple facts
of his life. The contributions that he made towards the cause of Christ and the spreading and formation
of Christianity are what he is perennially remembered for.
Paul is remembered as a missionary and church planter. He undertook three extensive missionary
journeys, estimated to have taken place in A.D. 44, 49 and 53. He spent much ... Show more content

Paul was not fighting against the Law of Moses he knew the law, and that obeying the commandments
would lead to happiness. But he also knew that Christ had come to fulfil the law as messiah, and to
reconcile the world to himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). He did not interpose rejection of the law, but was
polemical of Jewish Christians excluding Gentiles on grounds such as circumcision. As he was later to
say of the event, There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in
Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)
This teaching has impacted Christianity in history through the lives of individuals but most
significantly through the Reformation of the 16th Century. Martin Luther was strongly convicted on
this issue, seeing it as the epitome of Paul s teachings. Because Luther stood for this issue
unfalteringly, he was persecuted and excommunicated. He and his followers formed the Protestant
Church, turning away from Catholicism in disgust at their practices of indulgences to gain salvation,
making his mantra, the just shall live by faith. (Hab. 2:4, Rom. 1:17) This was scripture that Paul had
restated in his most famous and complete theological epistle, Romans. This influence of Paul brought
about conflict, but also good and freedom, and a new expression of Christianity.
Today, Catholic and Protestant churches still hold different views

Basic Financial Statements Under Generally Accepted...
Understanding Basic Financial Statements Companies report their financial activities in four basic
financial statements under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The four basic financial
statements are as listed below: 1. The balance sheet shows in a tabular form, the asset, liability and
owners equity of a company, at a particular time. The assets of a company will always equal to the
sum of liabilities and owners equity, this is called the accounting equation. i.e Asset = liability +
Owners Equity 2. The income statement gives details of executed transactions which contributed
positively or negatively to the owners equity. These transactions can bring about an increase or
reduction in the owners equity. The income ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every transaction, because of its financial impact, affects the financial statements of the business.
Financial statements can be prepared after 1, 2, or any number of transactions. Every transaction has
two sides: the giving side and the receiving side The record used to capture events that has financial
impact on each asset, liability, and stockholders equity is called the account. The account is the basic
summary device of accounting. An account is the record of all the changes in a particular asset,
liability, or stockholders equity during a period. Assets can be defined as economic resources owned
or controlled by the firm that deliver a future benefit for a business. They are acquired by the firm as a
result of a past event or transaction. Assets that can be converted to cash within a short term like cash
at hand/bank, inventories, are call short term or current assets. Property, plant and equipment are
categorized as long term asset The following asset accounts are mostly used: Cash, Accounts
Receivable. Notes Receivable, Inventory, Prepaid Expenses. Land, Buildings, Equipment, Furniture,
and Fixtures. Liabilities is a debt. An obligation to another party is a liability. The most common types
of liabilities include: Accounts Payable, Notes Payable, and Accrued Liabilities. Liabilities arises from

Ford s Effect On Manufacturing Industry
On July 30, 1863, an industrialist was born, neither him nor anyone for that matter, knew he was to
forever change the world, he was known as Henry Ford (1863 1947). Ford grew up on his parents
farm in Michigan. He loved to work on the farm machinery. He was good at fixing things and could
even repair watches. Although Ford did not invent the automobile but his introduction of the Model T
automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry, his inventions are still marveled in
the modern world today. Henry Ford installed the World s first moving assembly line in December
1913. Ford and the assembly line improved work conditions, revolutionized production and
revolutionized American society.
Ford effect on manufacturing reaches worldwide. Prior to the Industrial Revolution people were
largely self reliant, but the industrial revolution transported increased separation of labor, and this
separation of labor got a specialization, which carried increased productivity. Specialization, however,
decreased self sufficiency and people became gradually dependent on one another. Which was the
process of socialization of labor. Ford was capable of making a reliable and low cost auto because of
his ground breaking, assembly line. The Assembly line is a sequence of workers, machines, and parts
down which an incomplete product passes, each worker performing a procedure, until the product is
assembled (Mass Production). The assembly line was undoubtedly Ford s greatest

Fed Ex and Ups, Air Express Industry Analysis
FED EX and UPS
Airfreight Industry Analysis
1. During the 1980s, the air express industry was a medium to attractive industry to already be a major
player in, but not a very attractive industry to try and break into. The industry can be characterized by
high rivalry from competitors who compete on the same services with very little differentiation,
medium power from suppliers who supply the resources necessary to run the business, high buyer
power because customers can basically find an equal service from any firm in the industry, low
substitution threat from other means of shipping transportation, and low threat of new entrants due to
the high initial capital outlay and need of management ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, threat of substitutes is low because air express still dominated the shipping scene and electronic
transmission was not yet perfected. Threat of entry is low because it requires large capital investments
for a firm to startup and thus it can impede the entry of new firms into the industry. Lastly, it would be
hard to break into the industry because the other firms already have economies to scale, are further
along learning curve, and may have certain airspace leases that blocks out the new company from
potential routes.
Therefore this industry is a pretty good one to already be in, but would be very tough to try and break
into. Since established firms do not have to worry about threat of entrants or substitution, they can
focus on making their core business practices cost efficient and profitable. Although firms have to deal
with high buyer and supplier power, every firm has to deal with these issues. Therefore this leaves
only rivalry to compete on, which forces firms to stay sharp, observe the competition, and provide
excellent service to the firm s customers to generate profit. Industry competition intensified from 1988
to 1989 because there was a significant slowdown of the growth rate of the air express industry due to
increasing geographic saturation, the acceptance of electronic transmission, and rapid consolidation of

As the health Informatician of PGH Badulla, my first task after realizing that all the computers in the

continuing to use these pirated copies in the hospital system.
First of all I would like to pay attention to the harmful effects it would have to the computers and the

The other option and more preferred one is to go for free and open source software.
In order to make an informed decision I would like to elaborate on the pros and cons of using either
original Microsoft office package or free and open source software.
Free and open source software as the name suggests is often free or at least much more cost effective,
whereas original Microsoft software is highly costly. Therefore using OSS as Libre office or Apache
Open Office will save a huge amount of money rather than going for original Microsoft office. And
we can install OSS in all the computers of the hospital without having to worry about licenses.
OSS is often evolving to the betterment as a large membership is involved in developing it and fixing
bugs. And since it s legal upgrading the software should not be a problem for us.
Since OSS are more flexible we can modify the software as we wish to suit our requirements.
Another benefit is that we are not restricted to a propriety system with vendor designed products
which are compatible only with each other when using an

Elizabeth Bennet Enlightenment
Elizabeth Bennet As An Enlightenment Figure
During the Regency Period of 19th century England, traditions and strict social standards
characterized society. The lower class were inferior to the wealthy, and the sentiment of male
superiority suppressed the potential of women. However, these standards were challenged by the Age
of Enlightenment, which occurred prior to the Regency Period and inspired the use of independent
thinking. Enlightenment figures questioned traditional authority and embraced the notion that
humanity could be improved through rational change, therefore providing the impetus for others to
diverge from set customs (History.com Staff). In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet
demonstrates the qualities of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, she has a tendency to prematurely judge a person s character and establish an opinion of
them. Upon first meeting Mr. Darcy, she overhears a distasteful conversation between him and Mr.
Bingley, which leads her to assume that she has no very cordial feelings towards him (Austen 14).
Elizabeth s negative opinion of Mr. Darcy intensifies when Mr. Wickham tells her stories that appear
to confirm his overly prideful demeanor. Mr. Darcy, however, believes that Elizabeth is too rash in her
judgements, and says, I can readily believe [...] that reports may vary greatly with respect to me; and I
could wish Miss Bennet, that you were not to sketch my character at the present moment (Austen 92).
Darcy knows that Wickham s stories are false, but Elizabeth s flaw initially prevents her from listening
to his reasoning. She firmly turns down his first marriage proposal, claiming that she has every reason
in the world to think ill of [him] (Austen 186); however, in a subsequent letter, Darcy gives a thorough
explanation concerning Elizabeth s misgivings. After reading over his message multiple times,
Elizabeth finally realizes her mistakes. She grows absolutely ashamed of herself, and admits, Until
this moment, I never knew myself (Austen 201 202). Such profound self awareness is not often
demonstrated by other characters, and Elizabeth breaks from the conventional way of thinking by

They feel their story is not just for an industry audience, but for everyone; government officials, labor
leaders, industry executives and general readers, in every country with an interest in how society goes
about making things. The best way to describe lean production is to contrast it to its predecessors:
craft production and mass production. Craft production uses highly skilled workers and simple but
flexible tools to make exactly what the consumer asks for, one item at a time. The result is that
consumers get exactly what they want but at a prohibitively high cost. Mass production uses narrowly
skilled professionals to design products made by unskilled or semiskilled workers tending expensive,
single purpose machines. The machines produce standardized products in very high volume. Due to
the high cost of disruption of the process, the mass producer adds many buffers extra supplies,
workers and space to assure smooth production. Also due to high cost of changing over to a new
product, the mass producer keeps standard designs in production as long as possible. The result is the
consumer gets lower costs but at the expense of variety, and workers tend to find their part of the
process boring. Lean production, by contrast, uses teams of multiskilled workers at all levels of the
organization, and uses highly flexible, increasingly automated machines to produce large volumes of
products in enormous variety. The term

could be because they are retired, or due to their health issues and so on. According to Cumming and

us we are stepping into our season of help. HE is still manifesting Himself as the ever fresh, ever new

  • 4. Deaf Culture And Interpreters History American Deaf Culture and Interpreters History Deaf culture in is one of America s many sub cultures, which means that it is a culture imbedded into the overall culture of the nation. What is unique about the deaf culture is that at times it is a sub culture of a sub culture, of a culture, for example the deaf community in Colorado is a sub culture of Colorado s culture, and Colorado culture is a sub culture of the American culture. It can get even more complicated than even that, because say there is an African American deaf culture in the deaf community that adds another deaf culture. It is also unique and set apart from other cultures because of the language barrier between the deaf community and the hearing community. Deaf culture has only recently been accepted by the general public, as well as they have not always had access to an interpreter. Deaf culture has changed drastically since before the 1960 s. In today s society deaf culture is not considered to be a population of animal like humans, but that was not the case before the 1960 s. In the past people who were deaf did not live normal lives, they were in a way the outcasts. If you were born deaf before the 1960 s there were not many options for the deaf, often times they were looked down upon and thought of as glorified animals. Because they were viewed as animals they were not accepted into the mainstream schools, even though there were a few institutes for the deaf, a lot of times families could not afford ... • 5. Determining Mastery For Instructional Strategies Determining Mastery for Instructional Strategies Determining mastery can be a complex procedure even for the most experienced educators. It involves not only a designated percentage on assessments, but also must take into account the cognitive complexity of the assessment as well as the nature of the learning goal students are being asked to master. This further requires consideration for the rigor of expectations set for students performance (Guskey, 2001). An assessment can contain items or tasks that are so challenging that even students who receive a low cutoff score can be deemed as having achieved mastery. For example, think about the Graduate Records Examination (GRE). Though a student may only answer half of the test questions for the GRE physics exam correctly, due to the complexity of the questions, they will have performed better than over 70 percent of those who take the test. Another factor in determining mastery is professional judgement. Like it or not, scores on assessments aren t always completely accurate and some level of professional judgement is required to adjust scores for error, for example, slightly lowering the score out of concern for false rejection or incorrectly classifying a master as a non master (Guskey Andermann, 2014). This false rejection could be detrimental for borderline students in that it would affect their confidence and their desire to continue pursuing mastery as well as causing otherwise talented students not to pass a ... I began thinking who the best interviewee would be for this story and I thought the Student Involvement Center would be the best bet. I thought if I could talk to one of their students then I could get both angles of all the things the Student Involvement Centers does to help students get involved and also how it helped them to make friends. Hopeful, I emailed them. I never got anything back. So, I searched for a phone number with no luck and emailed them again. By this time, I knew I had to change my story a little bit and get a new person to interview. My backup plan was to interview a sorority girl about how going greek helped her make friends. I was going to go in the O (which is where all the sororities and fraternities hang out and have offices) and ask if anyone would like to do an interview for me. The more I thought about this the more I realized how much of an awful plan it was. Instead, I remembered there was a sorority girl in my philosophy class. I asked her if she could do an interview and she was busy until later that week. I had finally got everything straightened ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story is set during the night at ten PM, in the streets in suburban Melbourne. When the two brothers are running, Moses realizes he has difficulty accepting that Ben is getting older, and that his younger brother is now running faster than him. The author suggests that family relationships after a loss may result in being abnormal and can have consequences on one s development and behavior. The author effectively conveys this theme through his use of characterization, narrative point of view and irony. To begin, the characterization of Moses in relation with his brother Ben demonstrates how the protagonist is struggling to be a perfect father substitute, after both parents passing away. Criminal Law Does Not Punish People For Commit A Crime CRIMINAL ATTEMPT:::: Introduction: Criminal law does not punish people for aiming to commit a crime, but it identifies that conduct intended at committing a crime may be just as to blame if it fails to reach its aims as if it had been successful. Therefore using OSS as Libre office or Apache Open Office will save a huge amount of money rather than going for original Microsoft office. And we can install OSS in all the computers of the hospital without having to worry about licenses. OSS is often evolving to the betterment as a large membership is involved in developing it and fixing bugs. And since it s legal upgrading the software should not be a problem for us. Since OSS are more flexible we can modify the software as we wish to suit our requirements. Another benefit is that we are not restricted to a propriety system with vendor designed products which are compatible only with each other when using an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Elizabeth Bennet Enlightenment Elizabeth Bennet As An Enlightenment Figure During the Regency Period of 19th century England, traditions and strict social standards characterized society. The lower class were inferior to the wealthy, and the sentiment of male superiority suppressed the potential of women. However, these standards were challenged by the Age of Enlightenment, which occurred prior to the Regency Period and inspired the use of independent thinking. Enlightenment figures questioned traditional authority and embraced the notion that humanity could be improved through rational change, therefore providing the impetus for others to diverge from set customs (History.com Staff). In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet demonstrates the qualities of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially, she has a tendency to prematurely judge a person s character and establish an opinion of them. Upon first meeting Mr. Darcy, she overhears a distasteful conversation between him and Mr. Bingley, which leads her to assume that she has no very cordial feelings towards him (Austen 14). Elizabeth s negative opinion of Mr. Darcy intensifies when Mr. Wickham tells her stories that appear to confirm his overly prideful demeanor. Mr. Darcy, however, believes that Elizabeth is too rash in her judgements, and says, I can readily believe [...] that reports may vary greatly with respect to me; and I could wish Miss Bennet, that you were not to sketch my character at the present moment (Austen 92). Darcy knows that Wickham s stories are false, but Elizabeth s flaw initially prevents her from listening to his reasoning. She firmly turns down his first marriage proposal, claiming that she has every reason in the world to think ill of [him] (Austen 186); however, in a subsequent letter, Darcy gives a thorough explanation concerning Elizabeth s misgivings. After reading over his message multiple times, Elizabeth finally realizes her mistakes. She grows absolutely ashamed of herself, and admits, Until this moment, I never knew myself (Austen 201 202). Such profound self awareness is not often demonstrated by other characters, and Elizabeth breaks from the conventional way of thinking by learning how to accept and overcome her ... They feel their story is not just for an industry audience, but for everyone; government officials, labor leaders, industry executives and general readers, in every country with an interest in how society goes about making things. The best way to describe lean production is to contrast it to its predecessors: craft production and mass production. Craft production uses highly skilled workers and simple but flexible tools to make exactly what the consumer asks for, one item at a time. The result is that consumers get exactly what they want but at a prohibitively high cost. Mass production uses narrowly skilled professionals to design products made by unskilled or semiskilled workers tending expensive, single purpose machines. The machines produce standardized products in very high volume. Due to the high cost of disruption of the process, the mass producer adds many buffers extra supplies, workers and space to assure smooth production. Also due to high cost of changing over to a new product, the mass producer keeps standard designs in production as long as possible. The result is the consumer gets lower costs but at the expense of variety, and workers tend to find their part of the process boring. Lean production, by contrast, uses teams of multiskilled workers at all levels of the organization, and uses highly flexible, increasingly automated machines to produce large volumes of products in enormous variety. • 37. Host Pastor WELCOME ADDRESS by Host Pastor The great God that deserves to be praised greatly is our God (Psalm 145:3). Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. Hallelujah! It was just like yesterday when the Lord told us three years before this parish was birthed that we would be coming to Akron. As it is written, Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase, we have seen God s faithfulness over the last seven years in every life, every marriage, every home in the church, in the parish and in our land. Our ever faithful, ever true Lord and Savior has proven Himself in innumerable ways as The Alpha and the Omega. We remember the Stow Ohio dinner with friends held on Sunday, May 9th 2010. HE has shown that He alone has the final say in the affairs of men, The Almighty. As our Helper, He told us we are stepping into our season of help. HE is still manifesting Himself as the ever fresh, ever new God, the God of a new thing. In His mercy HE taught us the power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ha!
