Neptune is the eighth and farthest known planet from the Sun in our solar system. It has a blue appearance due to methane in its atmosphere absorbing red light and reflecting blue wavelengths. Neptune has the third largest planet in the solar system, with a diameter roughly four times larger than Earth and an extremely powerful wind speeds. The planet has a prominent magnetic field and ring system composed of small, dark particles.
