Writing a CCOT (Continuity and Change Over Time) essay can be a challenging task that
requires a thoughtful approach and a deep understanding of the subject matter. This type of
essay typically involves analyzing historical events, developments, or processes over a specified
period, while also considering the continuities and changes that occurred during that time frame.
Crafting a well-structured CCOT essay necessitates a strong command of historical knowledge,
critical thinking skills, and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
One of the difficulties lies in the need to strike a balance between providing detailed historical
context and maintaining a focus on the continuity and change elements. It requires synthesizing
information from various sources, such as textbooks, scholarly articles, and primary documents,
to construct a comprehensive and nuanced narrative. Additionally, the writer must establish a
clear thesis that outlines the continuities and changes and supports it with relevant evidence.
Moreover, a successful CCOT essay requires an understanding of the broader historical context
and the impact of various factors on the continuity and change in the chosen subject. This may
involve considering social, economic, political, cultural, or technological influences, depending
on the specific topic.
Furthermore, constructing a coherent and well-organized essay structure is crucial. The
introduction should provide background information and establish the time frame, the thesis
statement should be clear and focused, and body paragraphs should present evidence and
analysis in a logical sequence. Transitions between paragraphs are essential to maintain the flow
of the essay.
In conclusion, writing a CCOT essay demands a combination of historical knowledge, analytical
skills, and effective communication. It is a task that challenges writers to think critically about
the complexities of historical developments and present their findings in a clear and cohesive
manner.

All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love
All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love
through verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the
condition of the human heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity.
Thus, human beings are unable to understand and comprehend love s truest form
which is found in the embodiment God s being. God s love is communicated to
mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood of Jesus
Christ, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of
salvation through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, those whom God
allows Himself to be known can also know God s love through God s providential
care and sustainment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes
difficult to understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God
s love.
Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love.
Thus, God reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while
Jesus displays the attribute of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and
the Holy Spirit makes the attribute known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of
the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love itself is in triunity; hence, there
must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53). In the Godhead,
the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John 14:31) in
the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy
Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16)
gave the Son his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30;
Galatians 5:22) which is expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption
where the invisible is made visible (Conner, 1980).
Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is
not easily seen in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to
human consciousness; hence, the
Comparing Marx And Ritzer s The Mcdonaldization Of
Society
In the Manifesto of the Communist Party, Marx and Engels define Capitalism as an
economic system driven by profit motive or labor that increases capital (Marx, 1888).
Therefore, the profit motive is the driving force of capitalism. Industries established
in this system use methods to cut the cost of the labor needed to create a product in
order to profit. The most prominent method used is rationalization. Ritzer, author of
The McDonaldization of Society, describes rationalization as the domination of
American society with principles found in fast food industries (Ritzer, 2015).
Collectively, these characteristics contribute to the successfulness of a profitable
capitalist system. While they are designed to produce capital, the four principles...

In her book, From Here to Eternity, Caitlyn Doughty emphasized the irrationality and
unethicality of the rationalized industry concerning death. After exploring many
diverse cultures in search of the ultimate death ritual, Doughty realizes that, just like
capitalism, America s funeral industry is based purely on the profit motive. The
principles of McDonaldization have over rationalized the system creating a concrete
method of dealing with death. For example, in America culture, the process of death
has been moved completely into medical industries and out of the control of the
dying and families. However, this rationalized system has created an impersonal
system(s) [that] fosters a corrosive fear of that hinders our ability to cope and mourn
(Doughty, book cover). She reveals that many people want to engage with death and
expose their emotions, but instead are dictated by the efficiency, calculability,
predictability, and control of the industry. Doughty also argues that that expense,
cooperate ness, and bureaucracy of the funeral industry has served to destroy the
intent of funerals: family and community joining in the mourning and celebration of
an individual s life (Doughty, 2017). Marx and Engels state this succinctly: The
bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil and has reduced the
family relation to a mere money relation (Marx, 8). Ethically, funeral homes do not

Tax Cuts And Jobs Act Research Paper
With a new president, usually comes a new tax plan. Trump is no different. The
Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a 429 page page tax bill, which has been passed by the
House of Representatives. The Senate is still debating their plan. Under Trump s
plan, he is declaring tax cuts both for individuals as well as companies. While the
plans continue to be debated and finalized, it is important to follow the news to
know how it will affect you. The largest and most talked about point among
Americans is the tax bracket changes. This is what many relate to the tax savings.
The House of Representatives have agreed to the plan that would decrease the
number of tax brackets from seven to four. The rates would include 12, 25, 35, and
39.6 percent. Those who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This combines the current 33% to 35% Americans who earn between 191,651
dollars to 418,400 dollars. When filing jointly, you would fall in the 35% if you
earn between 260,001 dollars to 1,000,000 dollars. Under the current tax brackets,
anyone who fell between 233,351 dollars to 470,700 dollars. This tax bracket is
interesting because those who earn between 470.700 dollars to 1,000,00 who
would usually pay 39.6% only have to pay 35%. The final tax bracket is the
39.6%. If single, you would fall under this bracket if you earned 500,001 or more
under the new plan. Before, you would only had to have earned 418,401 dollars or
more. If filing jointly, under the new plan those who aren 1,000,001 dollars or
more would be taxed at 39.6%. Currently, anyone who made 470,701 dollars or
more would be taxed at this rate. As you can see this is beneficial for the higher
earning Americans. It puts less people in this high tax bracket. While this is Trump
s plan and has been approved by the House, the Senate issued their own plan. They
want to keep the same seven tax brackets, but lower some of the rates. While Trump
hopes to have a plan on his desk before Christmas, I believe it will be an uphill battle
to get the Senate to agree to only four brackets. While this is where many have their
focus, Trump plans to change many other aspects. Both the House and Senate plan to
eliminate the itemize deductions except charitable contributions, mortgage interest,
A Million Little Pieces Analysis
Inside of this box is a present for a person named James Frey in the memoir A
Million Little Pieces. James has been taken to a rehab facility to get over his
addictions. This pen along with this journal will help my main character, attempt
to solve his problems, and retain his memory. In the beginning of the memoir, he
does not remember anything that has happened, and wakes up on a plane with
horrible bruises, cuts, broken body parts, and severe damage done to his brain. He
does not remember anything that happened, and does not remember where he was
before, or where he was going. His memory is slightly retained after a while, but
not fully back. James suffers from constant vomiting, and endless stares from the
other people at the facility. He does not have anyone to talk to while there, which
is one of the many purposes for the journal. He can write down all of his feelings
without anybody knowing how he feels. It is a release of information that could
have been weighing him down. It is hard for James to talk to someone when he does
not have a friend that will listen. Everyone in the rehab facility has their own

Throughout the book Fellowship of the ring , Frodo Baggins, the central character,
embarks on a journey not only literally, but mentally. Frodo discovers traits about
himself that he never knew he had, or discovers that he could do what he thought he
could never do. Frodo s journey in this book is to take the Ring of Power to

Sauron. He brings along his bodyguard, Samwise Gamgee, and they meet Merry
Brandybuck and Pippin Took along the way. Frodo encounters Aragorn as well, who

many things. Frodo is able to deliver ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He begins his quest as a joyous, nonchalant little hobbit, who loves his home. But
after taking on the burden of the ring of power, he is enticed by it and its
consequences. As he carries on his journey, he begins to realize that it is his true
destiny to be carrying the ring, and that he must get it to the elves at all costs.
When Frodo awakes in the Barrow Downs he believes that he is going to be killed.
But, because of his new found courage, and wit, he is able to fix his problem of
being captured, and near death, and against all odds it would seem, he escapes
with all of his friends, and their horses. Tolkien describes it with this; There is a
seed of courage hidden (often deeply, it is true) in the heart of the fattest and most
timid Hobbit, waiting for some final and desperate danger to make it grow. Frodo
was neither very fat nor very timid; indeed, though he did not know it, Bilbo (and
Gandalf) had thought him the best Hobbit in the Shire. He thought he had come to
the end of his adventure, and a terrible end, but the thought hardened him. He found
himself stiffening, as if for a final spring; he no longer felt limp like a helpless prey.

The s Operational Values Internal Communication
Alaska Airlines have lately recovered from a period of operational uncertainty, yet
its executives worry the airline is draining its reserves of goodwill and consumer
loyalty, due to variability in, its data for on time flights and mishandled baggage and
losses over the past two years. The senior executives question whether the
organization could survive if the functionality were to slip again after concentrating
lots of resources on operations in an attempt to recover equilibrium. Is staying status
quo good enough, or should the airlines leadershiptakes action to transform the
operational values Internal Communicationis one of the most neglected areas of
strategic planning.
Most companies spend a great deal of money and effort on their external
communication plan but fail to expend any energy toward creating an organized plan
for internal communication. They rarely discusses using a planned approach to
internal communication as a proactive strategy for long term business success.
Expected benefits are important an elements as well as issues for consideration are
presented along with the planning and measurement of the internal communication
strategy. The ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and
employees is imperative to providing greater customer satisfaction and improving
business productivity. How well information is communicated both externally to
customers and vendors and internally to employees is vital to long term business
success.
Reflection Paper On The Solar Eclipse
While being a very excited fan of Mythology, Astrology and this year s upcoming
solar eclipse, I decided to embark on a journey with my two daughters, Jazmine (4
and proud of it), Layla (terrible 2.5 s) Goins to experience the eclipse at its fullest
in Totality town (Andrews) North Carolina. Second thought s about this were
weighing heavily in my head. Especially in the wake of the recent tragedy that
took place in Charlottesville, Virginia. But being that this was a very important
historical moment, I really wanted this experience not only for myself but for my
daughters also. So with out any more hesitation, I said a quick prayer and set
forward towards my destination. 2.5 hrs later we were in a thriving community
where everyone shared the same enthusiasm that I did for the upcoming event. So
with out further ado, I unfolded my daughters blanket under a shade tree so they
would be comfortable, and commenced a count down for the event. After settling in
we were greeted by a fellow stargazer whom asked offered a pair of glassesto my
daughters in order to view the eclipse. Without hesitation, they replied, received their
glasses, and gave her the biggest hug their short arms could muster. Moments later, I
was greeted by Stephen St. Claire, An artist from Asheville, North Carolinawhom
with a warm welcome, invited my daughters and myself to join himself and his
wife Joy St. Claire, under the trees where everyone else was, and not alone.
Understanding immediately the potential and power in this, I agreed, gathered my
things and shuffled my daughters in their direction. Once we made it there, my
daughters as always, hugged, greeted, and told them their names and ages. In like
fashion, they were bombarded with the same. Once we were settled sitting down,
Joy being the SAINT that she is immediately started interacting with my daughters as
if she had known them their whole life, and vice versa. While Steven and I had a
very interesting, wholehearted, truthful, fellowship amongst ourselves, about what s
going on in today s world. As our conversation continued, he asked if I felt as if there
was a change from then until now. Anxious to convey my answer accurately and
correctly, I told

American controlled Philippine Islands Guam. The government sent the Chinese

Japanese seemed to be so unbeatable to others. The Americans, and Australians
were the main allies. The allies were so anxious to get back at, or strike at, in the

psychological point to both Japanese and us Americans, but Japan was vulnerable
when it came to attack. Doolittle s little raid on the Japanese raised Americans
morale, shook confidence of some in Japan, as the Japanese citizens said. We
started to doubt that we were invincible Some of the Japanese worried that their
defeat and controlling a vast empire caused them to spread their resources so very
thin. The allies began to turn tides of war slowly. May 1942, an American fleet with

Good Followers Are Important Than A Good Leader
Good followers are just as important if not more important than a good leader.
Followers are the important people behind a leader providing support, and
constructive criticism to the leader. Barbara Kellerman a leadership lecturer at
Harvard University s John F. Kennedy School of Government author of Follower
ship: How Followers are Creating Change and Changing Leaders, says that
significant shifts in technology and culture have changed that dynamic, giving
followers more power. And there is a lot you can learn about being a good leader by
learning to be a good follower. Kellerman also state that being a follower does not
make you a sheep and truthfully everyone is a kind of a regular follower in any way,
maybe in our families, friends, clubs, or religious groups.
A big key to being a good follower is to have good awareness. When you are aware of
your surrounding group and can get a feel for what they are comfortable with or
not. Such as when I am around my friends I know what kind of upsets them but at
the same time I know I can be a little less aware because they have similar interests
and are close to my age, but if I were surrounded by strangers of a different age I
would have to be very careful and be aware of what may upset them. Personality is a
good trait to have rather it is for work or everyday life, being outgoing and friendly is
how you make friends and really how a lot of positive things happen to you. If you
are working with a team it is important
Symphony No. 9 Summary
The concert I watched online was Symphony No. 9 From the New World composed
by the great Antonin Dvorak. This performance was done by the New York
Philharmonic and launched the New York Philharmonic s 175th anniversary season.
This concert was performed by an orchestra and was definitely a performance I
enjoyed to watch and listen to.
In the beginning of the performance, the orchestra begins with an adagio tempo, using
instruments such as cellos and violins. The tempo is very slow and soothing until it
suddenly interrupted by the sound of trumpets. This is setting a tone that something
very dramatic is about to happen. After the trumpets sound, oboes and flutes begin
to play using the same adagio tempo as it was used in the beginning of the
performance. As the flutes and clarinets slowly stop, you can see the conductor,
Alan Gilbert, slowly move his arms apart to instruct the orchestra to get prepared.
Gilbert then swings his arms up and the orchestra switches to an allegro tempo by
using crescendo. Violins, cellos, drums, French horns, tenor trombones and bass
trombones are now used to create a suspenseful tone as if something tragic has just
happened. It then changes back to the adagio tempo using instruments with low pitch
and then transfers back to the oboes, flutes and violins. The first ten minutes of the
performance is a wide variation between adagio and allegro and molto allegro and
basically switches tempos between the three which is why I really enjoyed

similarities among synoptic authors Matthew, Mark, Luke, and the gospel, John?

tradition, written sources, or each other? The phenomenon and mystery of these
similar but unique Synoptic Gospels has for centuries challenged some of the best

They believed that this leader the Messiah (?anointed one?) would rescue them
from their Roman oppressors and establish a new kingdom. As their king, he would
rule the world with justice. However, many Jews overlooked prophecies that also
spoke of this king as a suffering servant who would be rejected and killed. It is no
wonder, then, that few recognized Jesus as the Messiah. ?How could this humble
carpenter?s son from Nazareth be their king,? they thought. But Jesus was the
King of all the earth, and it was Matthew (Levi) who took it upon himself (but not
alone) to spread the word. Matthew used about 1475 words, 137 of which are
words used by him alone of all the New Testament writers. Of these latter 76 are
classical; 15 were introduced for the first time by Matthew, or at least he was the
first writer in whom they were discovered; 8 words were employed for the first
time by Matthew and Mark, and 15 others by Matthew and another New Testament
writer. It is probable that, at the time of the Evangelist, all these words were in
current use. Matthew s Gospel contains many peculiar expressions that help to give
decided colour to his style. Thus, he employs thirty four times the expression basileia
ton ouranon; this is never found in Mark and Luke, who, in parallel passages, replace
it by basileia tou thou, which also occurs four times in Matthew.
Matthew begins his account by giving Jesus? genealogy. He then tells of Jesus? birth
and early years, including the escape
Psychology And Its Effect On A Person s Actions
Psychology has revealed how the learning perspective is concerned with the
environment and experiences leading to effects on a person s actions. Within this
perspective, behaviorists focus on the environmental rewards and punishers that
maintain or discourage specific behaviors. B.F. Skinner once stated, I am sometimes
asked, Do you think of yourself as you think of the organisms you study? The answer
is yes. So far as I know, my behaviorat any given moment has been nothing more
than the product of my genetic endowment, my personal history, and the current
setting. (Skinner, 1983). In the average college classroom, behaviorismeffects
students way of learning in that their behavior is shaped by either positive or negative
reinforcement.
According to Peter Boghossian, in the traditional behaviorist model, learners undergo
some form of conditioning. The ultimate goal of conditioning is to create a
behavioral result. In an academic venue, changing behavior is more difficult to
measure than in other contexts, like a karate class, where there are observable
physical behaviors that result from physical stimuli. For example, in the hypothetical
karate class, if students do not form straight lines they are punched in the shoulder
(stimuli), after a few people get out of line, and get punched, the line becomes
noticeably straighter (behavioral response). However, in an academic context,
behaviorists substitute verbal behavior (e.g. responding appropriately to a question)

Leigh Syndrome Essay
The first reported case of LS occurred when Denis Archibald Leigh examined a
baby boy who displayed symptoms similar to that of Wernicke s, description of W
(new source) . Before the child passed, he exhibited child: development regression,
somnolence, bulbar palsy, spasticity lims. (JNNP)
.It was only after the child had passed, that Leigh Syndrome, LS, was confirmed
through a close examination of his tissue, as there was no other effective way to
confirm LS up until modern technology began to develop. (JNNP).
Leigh Syndrome is a neurological disorder that occurs throughout the early stages
of childhood (Wiley) In infancy, symptoms may include severe vomiting and
respiratory issues, as well as failure to thrive (USEFUL). LS in infants causes death in
up to 75% of those affected, by the time they are two or three years old they
experience critical organ failure (SOLACE). And as much as 25% of LS affected
people survive past their childhood which is rare but possible (SOLAC).
Symptoms of an affected person include but are not limited to ( decreasing mental
and motor function ) (Useful) LS attacks the brainstem which results in the loss of (
respiratory problems, nystagmus, ophthalmoparesis) (Wiley)Thus, lesions are present

Nuclear DNA mutations disrupt the respiratory chain by having a lack of one of

the world since LS symptoms are often confused with other symptoms such as the
baby boy s who Leigh examined (UMDF). It is predicted that at least one in 40,000
infants are affected with LS though this also includes those who display LS symptoms
Code Of Ethics In Managed Care
Managed Care Organizations (MCO) developed to maintain the financial
responsibility and the provision of care by instituiting the gatekeeper mentaliy
(Feldman et al. 1998). As primary care physicians maintained the role of the
gatekeeper, issuing referrals to patients as deemed necessary, physicians also became
uncomfortable in the given roles. In the beginning of medicine, physicians were
valued as the most moral member of society. However, as healthcare became more
business oriented with MCOs providing incentives for minimizing care, MCOs lost
the morality necessary for trust in healthcare.
Initially, physicians as a whole were not excited about the reform exhibited by the
managed care systems (Bereson 1991). In the article, Physician

Senate Filibuster
The Senate filibuster and the power to declare war hit the media all at once last
week with the Senate restricting the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees and the
President s attack on Syria.. In fact, these two issues were conjoined 100 years ago
in World War I.
After a German U Boat sank the British ocean liner Lusitania laden with American
arms, killing 128 Americans, President Woodrow Wilsonreacted by seeking the
Armed Ship Bill. Senator Fighting Bob La Follette declared The Armed Ship Bill

that blocked the Armed Ship Bill in the last days of the lame duck session of
Congress infuriating the President who ordered ships armed bypassing Congress.
Then he got Congress to pass the Cloture Rule ending filibusters by 2/3rds vote.
Wilson ended America s neutrality needlessly during World War I

Germany s enemies, at the behest of banking and commercial interests, and got our

The Four Stages Of Bruce Tuckman s Model Of Group
Theory
When Bruce Tuckman proposed the model of group development in 1965, the model
assumed four stages which include forming storming norming performing stages.
However, a fifth model was introduced to encapsulate the already functioning models
and this model became known as the adjourning phase (Bauer Erdogan, 2009, p. 191).
This group developmentstages will now be described below:
The first stage in the group development model is the forming stage which is a time
when a group officially comes together for the first time. This stage is full of
uncertainty as members of the group do not know what role they might be asked to
play and what level of behavior is accepted or not accepted in the group. It s a time
when individuals try to get acquainted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, this stage characterizes a great deal of friendship where members rely on
their capability to handle a task and see it done without a leader instructing them how
to do it. This stage is also a period when group members exhibit an unconditional
respect for their colleagues and even request feedback on their level of performance
in the task at hand. Apparently, it is not uncommon to have a close confidant whom
personal or intimate secret can be told. Additionally, it s at the norming stage of the
group development that members introduce rules and regulation that determine the
functionality of the group. The level of energy in the group at this stage is extremely
high that Bauer and Erdogan (2009) recommend that it will be appreciated should the
leader step aside and only function as a facilitator to the group whose capability is
beyond bound and ready to confront tough challenges with the confidence of scaling
through without
Ulcerative Colitis Essay
Ulcerative Colitis Have you ever heard about ulcerative colitis? For those that have
not or might want to know a little more information regarding this disease here are in
this essay you will learn the definition, risk factors, symptoms, if there is any
treatment to cure and many more important details that many of us should take into
consideration. Ulcerative colitisis a disease that causes inflammation and sores, called
ulcers, in the lining of the rectum and colon, also known as the large bowel. The

Also, in some rare cases, surgery is required, life threatening bleeding, perforation
of the intestine and inflammation of the abnormal cavity may occur. Other risk
factors are inflammation of the joints, eyes, skin and/or liver, malnutrition and
partial blocking of the bile ducts which carry bile from the liver to the intestine,
however, there is much that can be done about all these complications. One risk
and a major one is colon cancer. The risk of developing colon cancer increases
when the disorder begins in the childhood, the disorder has been present for more
then 8 years and when there is a history of colon cancer in the family. There have
cases that colitis can become so severe that the removal of the colon had to be done.
It affects everyone differently. The most symptoms of ulcerative colitis are abdominal
pain and bloody diarrhea mixed with pus, blood and mucus. Individuals may
become very sick and weak, they can suffer form anemia, weight loss, loss of
appetite, rectal bleeding, loss of body fluids and nutrients, skin lesion, joint pain, and
growth failure specially in children according to the extent of the disease. Just how

quarter of the patients only have the disease only have mild symptoms while others

Complications may also occur outside the colon such as arthritis, inflammation of the
Media Reflective Essay
One of my clients (let s call her Alicia) has always delayed her responses to media
inquires or requests. In my line of work, we deal with monthly, weekly and even
daily deadlines, so this type of behaviour has clearly costed us many opportunities in
getting exposures in the media.I used any possible means to reach my clients, being
extra proactive while making sure she responds before the deadline. I suggested my
superior to mention it to regional office as this situation affects our business as their
public relationsconsultant. If we don t get enough media exposures as targetted, we
may lose them as a client. Alicia has started to respond the inquries and requests
almost promptly. The use of casual communication mean such as Whatsapp for a
friendlier reminder has been more effective in getting her to work as fast as our pace.
During the month of Ramadan, one of our clients held a social activity by
providing dinner box to taxi drivers around the city to break their fasting. I have
briefed our photographer to get the exact poses we needed to produce photos for the
press release. Turned out the event wasn t prepared accordingly by the management
staff and I trusted the photographer too much that I didn t supervise directly, and
resulted the photos were not press release quality. In the meantime, we needed to
distribute the press release as soon as possible as it was nearing the end of the holy
month and everyone has started to be busy with the holiday as well. Re took
Financial Crisis And The Global Financial System
Financial crises have plagued the international financial system for many decades.
Indeed, they are becoming quite common lately. This quasi permanent and
problematic aspect of the global financial system can be highlighted by the problems
regarding the sovereign debts of Asia, Africa, Central Europe, Latin America and the
Middle East in the 80s, the 1987 stock market crash, the European foreign exchange
crisis in 92 93, the bond market shock in 94, the financial problems that affected
Asia, Brazil, Mexico and Russia in the mid 1990s , and more recently with the 2008
global financial collapse. This paper addresses the need for a globalized approach
aimed at establishing a well crafted legal framework capable of dealing with crises
within the banking system, hence being able to protect the entire economy of the
detrimental cascading effect that those instabilities can create. It compares the
approach taken by the UK against the efforts being directed by the G 20 nations. It
sheds light on the perspective that several important areas, such as systemic risk,
consumer protection, market integrity, macro prudential and micro regulatory
policies, as well as international competitive equality and shadow banking need to be
scrutinized if we are to establish an effective international legal structure.
OVERVIEW OF THE CURRENT REGULATORY APPROACH
1)The UK Approach
During the last financial crisis, weaknesses were exposed within the UK s system.

Carl Sandburg Chicago
As massive as Chicago is, opportunity is frequent. But as massive as Chicago is,
nothing can be perfect. Carl Sandburg s Chicago helps one reading the poem
understand what living in a big city like Chicago is like, equally exciting as
frightening. Chicago is a poem that captures what the legendary citystands for, a
polarizing residence that embodies what makes society both incredible and
disappointing. Take the line They tell me you are wicked and I believe them, for I
have seen your painted women under the gas lamps luring the farm boys. (lines 6 7)
This quote suggests prostitution going on within Chicago. An illegal crime that could
potentially destroy marriages and families. Sandburg quotes in lines 8 9 And they tell
me you are crooked and I answer: Yes, it is true I have seen the gunman kill and go
free to kill again. These lines recommend that not only murder occur in Chicago but
that this crime could happen without any justice being done against it. With the
repetition of lines 6 9 that are mentioned, Sandburg helps the reader understand
through this literary device that many offenses occur within the city and this will not
stop any time soon.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lines Come and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud to be
alive and coarse and strong and cunning, show that the residents of the city are
proud to be where they are. (lines 10 11) Sandburg is sarcastically criticizing the
critics of Chicago by challenging them to find townspeople that take more pride in
living in their city than Chicago townspeople because Sandburg believes that it is not
possible. Not only does Sandburg suggest that Chicago folk are proud of living in
their big city, but that they are strong and independent. By saying that they
Prayer Against The Enemy Of God
As we are made new creatures in Christ Jesus, we inherit the Name of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and we can use it in prayer against the enemy (Hagin, Kenneth). We
read in Ephesians 6:12, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places. It would seem the enemy is not visible to the
human eye, and our battle is not natural but supernatural. As believers, we are a
walking entity representing JesusChrist. Is prayer the only weapon we have to
defeat the enemy? We are instructed to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians
6 to enable us to stand against the wiles of the devil. What are the wiles of the... Show

We are instructed to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians. The visual this
passage describes is one of a warrior. Words such as wrestle and fight allude to the
concept of a battle. With each piece of armor, we see a warrior in the making. If we
forget to pick up our sword, we limit our fighting abilities to a defensive state only.
We will constantly be dodging the opponent s weapons of warfare. It is when we
pick up the sword, God s Word, that we have an offensive weapon. His word allows
us to charge our enemy, and the rest of the armor is in place for our protection.
God has our back along with our brothers and sisters in Christ. He is not sending us
to fight without equipping us for battle. Prayer is heavy artillery and can be
considered a big gun with the power to obliterate the opponent. Most believers delay
prayer when facing a crisis, when all else fails, pray.
As we come to attention in our spiritual life, let us make sure we are completely
clothed in the unfailing armor of God. It is no coincidence the armor contains six
pieces, which is the number for man. The first piece of armor attire is the belt of
truth. Jesus declares, I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). The Roman
Soldier belt was a thick, heavy leather and metal band with a protective piece
hanging down from the front of it. The belt held the soldier s sword and other
weapons

The Three Key Elements Of Freud s Tripartite Personality...
Personality is the distinctive and relatively enduring way of thinking, feeling and
acting that characterises a person s responses to life situations. (O Brien 2011:103)
The three key elements of Freud s tripartite personality structure are the id, the ego
and the superego. These three elements are used in almost every decision a person
makes on a day to day basis. The structure is mostly compared to an ice berg with a
small bit of the egobeing above the water which would be the conscious and the id
and the superego being underneath the water and unconscious. The id and the
superego are also portrayed as the devil and the angel respectably. According to Zhu,
(2012) his theory smashes the rationalistic myth of human are rational animals
through the reveal and emphasis of ego.
The first of the structures is the id. The part of the mind in which innate instinctive
impulses and primary processes are manifest: (oxford dictionary) we are born with
the id in order to survive, it develops in utero. It makes everything about itself and it
is known as the pleasure principle . Its main goal is to achieve happiness and content

By simply refusing to believe something, the brain can process what is actually
going on and then be able to comprehend it better. One of the best examples of this
is alcoholics denying the fact that they have a problem. Alcohol has created or
worsened the problems of the individual but yet they fail to comprehend that. As
stated by Allan, R, B (1997) One of the baffling characteristics of alcoholism is that
alcoholics (..) with life problems escalating, will deny the relationship between
alcohol and their problems. Another frequent example of denial is when a loved one
dies the brain might deny that they are dead and simply refuse to believe it as it may
hurt the individual too
Knights Of Labor Research Paper
The successes and failures of the Knights of Labor, have generated many
controversial issues that have helped shape the North American labor movement.
They fought for eight hour day shifts, abolition of child labor, equal pay for equal
work, and political reforms, including the graduated income tax in the late 1800s.
During this time period, many immigrants were coming to America to find jobs. The
Knights affected all sorts of workers from this time period, including skilled and
unskilled workers. In the present, a holiday, more equality, and government passed
Acts were created thanks to the inspiration of the Knight s actions. In the late 18

The Knights inspired a holiday and Acts to be formed from their actions. These
Acts and the holidays are practiced in today s society. The Knights of Labor
inspired citizens for the creation of Labor day(Foner and Garraty). This day is
dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. The Knights also
cause changes, through Acts being created. First the The Equal Pay Act of 1963
prohibits discrimination in wages on the basis of sex. The result was that women
s earnings will climb from 62% of men s in 1970 to 80% in 2004 (Breacher). This
was inspired by the equal pay ideal, of the Knights of Labor. It is a United States
federal law amending the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. The Fair Labor
Standards Act sets a 40 hour work week with time and a half for additional hours. It
also establishes a national minimum wage and puts severe restrictions on child labor
(Breacher). The Act is known as a United States law which sets out various labor
regulations regarding interstate commerce employment and requirements for
overtime pay, too. These Knights of Labor inspired and showed the United State s
government that they wanted change. It is clear that the Knights changed and
impacted the world today with Labor day, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the

Leveraging Accounts Receivable
Accounts receivable represent the money that keeps your business afloat. When you
issue an invoice, you have made a sale. When you get an invoice payment, you have
cash flowing into your accounts. When your accounts receivable file expands, your
business is growing.
The down side is that outstanding accounts receivable also represent money that you
could be using for other things, like payroll or increasing inventory. Fortunately, you
can free up a good deal of that money by using accounts receivable factoring.
Tips for Leveraging Accounts Receivable Factoring
Accounts receivable factoring is one way to free up cash to get through cash flow

You may have had a customer for several years who paid in good order. But, what
you may not know is that customer may have a very poor credit history with every
other creditor. Who knows when that bad credit payment history will extend to you?
Don t let sentimentality blind you to potential problems.
Use credit limits for new customers.
When you decide to extend credit to a new customer, use credit limits at first. This
lets you get a solid picture of their payment habits before extending further credit. You
should be up front about the credit terms and limits. Also provide information on how
they can work up to better terms and limits.
Build a strong relationship with each customer.
When you build a strong, ongoing relationship with a customer, there is a personal
connection made. And it is less likely that a customer is going to do something to
jeopardize a close business relationship.
You need to know the people behind your customer s logo. Follow them on social
media. Send emails just to check in and see how things are going. Make note of
birthdays and anniversaries. Show them that you care.
Use accounts receivable factoring wisely.
Invoice factoring allows you to get cash out of your outstanding invoices so that you
can do what you need to do. It is great for solving a temporary cash flow
Number Of Refugees In Australia
Australia has adopted a relatively conservative policy towards asylum seekers and
both the Labor and the Liberal party support policies designed to reduce the number
of refugees brought into Australia. The issue of refugees within Australia is a
controversial one, and has attracted a diverse range of opinions within the public.
Prime minister Tony Abbott made the issue of asylum seekers a major aspect of his
election campaign in 2013, promising to implement strict policies regarding the
acceptance of asylum seekers and stem the flow of refugees into Australia. Since then,
the number of refugees contained in detention centres has more than halved. The
average number of days spent in detention centres by refugees has increased from 72

The Onset Of Bulimia Nervosa
The purpose of the study is to identify what may be the onset of bulimia nervosa
and whether or not it is related to a person being subjected to criticism based on
their weight/ shape and eating habits. This is the first of studies that take a look at
a year prior to having bulimia nervosa. This study was conducted through a control
case study which is a study that looks at both a group that does have a disorder and
a group that does not have the disorder. It also determines if a factor affects either of
the groups and how that factor affects it. The study observed three separate group of
women. The women with eating disorders were recruited from eating disorder
treatment settings, which were women who were previously diagnosed with bulimia
nervosa. The healthy women along with women with a psychiatric diagnosis were
recruited from high schools and university campuses. A total of 180 women were
observed. The first group of sixty women was women who had bulimia nervosa
and ranged between the ages of 15 38. The second group, which were the healthy
women, their age ranged from 15 39. The healthy women reported not being
diagnosed with any disorder. The last group of sixty women s ages ranged from 14

all Caucasian women. Women were excluded if they were pregnant, had physical

Comparing Felicia s Journey And The Crying Games
There were many types of literary connections between all of the novels and films that
were read and watched throughout the semester. One of the major connections the
stood out between the works of Felicia s Journey and The Crying Games is personal
and collective history. This major theme was seen throughout many characters in
these films and established how they were portrayed and how they portrayed
themselves. Although they are two completely different films, they still share the
theme as a commonality on how history molded them into the people that they
became. Hilditch, Felicia, Dil and Fergus are all characters that indicate the two types
of history. The tension between collective and personal history causes difficulty for
the characters as time progresses throughout the films. In the film of Felicia s
Journey, Hilditch was treated cruelly by his mother. When she was in front of the
camera, she would let him help and when he ruined something, she would act nice
toward him. Once the cameras shut off, that is when she will go back to her normal

The Invention Of The Modern World
In almost every scientific discipline, complex, specialised instrumentation has been
considered important, if not integral to scientific development. As the scientific
developed and professionalised, instrumentation integrated yet further into the social
routine of formal laboratory work and, arguably, became endemic within the fabric of
everyday late industrial life1. This state of affairs has persisted since at least the late
nineteenth century2. In some cases, instrumentation has almost subsumed the
individual scientist within historical narrative. It is impossible to imagine classic
depictions of the great myth of Galileo without the obligatory appearance of at least
one of his telescopes3, or a sketch of Newton without his refracting prism. Celebration
of material apparatus has been an enduring theme, particularly in more poplar
depictions of the process of scientific progress. Today, the seemingly
incomprehensibly complex microscope or (now orbital) telescope are still instantly
recognisable, as visual shorthand for the sharpest points within the material armoury
of the scientist. It is therefore undeniable that from the genesis of Western modernity
in the sixteenth century there has been a near obsession with developing, enhancing
and portraying devices of observation, measurement and quantification. Yet the
literary examination and incorporation of scientific instruments into narrative and
displays of physical heritage has been a convoluted and (at times)

The Monetary Policy Of The United States Central Bank
The monetary policy is among the most crucial tools the United States central bank
can put into use so as to achieve the various economic objectives. The outlook of the
US economy should underline the progress that the Fed reserve has initiated towards
the mentioned dual mandate which has been put into place by the Fed reserve
towards the constant dual mandate goals of employment to the maximum in the price
stability context (Steven, 2011). Over the recent times or years, the US economy has
progressed towards the outlined goals. However, in the context of the United States
monetary policy, the rate of unemployment is still at high levels while the rate of
inflationis too low. Due to the uncertainty of the US monetary policy, normalization
can be determined since it is data dependent (Axilrod, 2011). Whenever there is a
shift in monetary policy, it is crucial to be mindful of the most likely occurrences
since they come alongside by certain degrees of market turbulence and stress.
Additionally, if the US monetary policy is normalized, some certain challenges will
be formed for the economies in the emerging markets (Steven, 2011). It is upon the
Federal Reserve therefore to address the risks that come with the US monetary
policies.
There are therefore key factors that have an influence on the amount of money that
people hold desirably. One of them is consumer spending which is related directly to
the demand of goods and services. During the periods whereby customers spend a

Nmr Test Lab Report
For this experiment, unknown sample 10 was given with the empirical formula of
C4H10O. Several scans were conducted in order to discover the unknown alcohol
sample. After obtaining the 1H NMR spectra of sample 10, 1H NMR signals and
13C NMR were used to determine the structure of the alcohol. The results of the
1H NMR displayed the total signals, chemical shift, multiplicity and the integration
of sample 10. The chemical shift tells the electron environment near the 1H
nucleus*. When near a electron withdrawing group 1H nucleus is deshielded and
is shifted downfield towards a higher ppm which gives evidence to atom A being
near an electronegative atom with an peak observed of 5.00. In addition, according
to the 1H NMR chemical shift table a ppm of 2 5 represents a R OH which coin side
with atom A near an oxygen. Furthermore, Signal splitting otherwise known as
multiplicity tells us the number of nuclei or hydrogen neighbors are on a particular
molecule. Signals B the spectra illustrated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In sample 10, we had two positive and one negative signals. Positive signals
represent either a methyl or a methyne while a negative signal represent a methene.
Both signal 1 and 2 were positive, it was determined that signal 1 was CH3 and
signal 2 was CH2. Since signals 3 was the only negative signal with a 68.21 ppm
this confirmed that it was a methene closest to the OH group. With the use of the 1H
NMR, 13CNMR, and the DEPT 135 we identified that our unknow alcohol sample
was 2 methyl 1 propanol otherwise known as
The Muhammad Is The Messenger Of God
All faithful Muslims are called to pray in Cairo. The song on the video is the call
that sounds five times a day every day in cities across the world. Nearly a quarter of
the people on earth respond to it with the enduring spirit of Islam. The video states
that in the Islam religion, Mohammed is the Messenger of God. The Islamic
civilization has been one of the humanity s grandest achievements, a worldwide
power founded simply on faith, a spiritual revolution that would shape the nations of
three continents, and launch an Empire. For the West, much of the history of Islam
has been obscured behind a veil of fear and misunderstanding. It was Muslim
scholars who retained the wisdom of the Greeks while Europe languished in the
dark ages. It was Muslims who sowed the seeds of the Renaissance 600 years
before the birth of Leonardo Da Vinci. From the way they heal the sick to the
numerals they use for counting, cultures across the globe have been shaped by the
Islamic civilization. However, all this began with an ordinary man and the profound
message he proclaimed would change the world forever. His name was Mohammed.
To Muslims, the life of Muhammad is a story revealed. Muhammad was born in or
around 570 AD in the sun blasted Arabian Peninsula, a land of scarcity whose tribes
were always in a state of war. While still an infant, Muhammad s parents gave him
his first tasteful of life in the dessert. Muhammad was from a town named Mecca, but
he was sent off to live with the better
The Pros And Cons Of Community Health Grants
Grants have a great value in providing dental care in community health centers
particularly dental clinics that represent a large public investment to address the
dental health needs of a diverse underserved rural and urban communities, and
uninsured populations. The grants that fund community health centers play a critical
role in financial support to provide dental services for patients in Medicaid non
expansion states who are more likely to be uninsured. Grant funding enables
community health centers to provide services not covered by most programs, such as
adult dental care, transportation, translation services, and use sliding fees for
privately insured patients who cannot afford their deductibles and cost sharing
(Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, 2017). The Pros and Cons of Receiving a Grant

The pros of receiving federal or state grants and some private charitable foundation
include providing free technical assistance. The federal grants encompass large funds
that can support the mission of the CHC with access to a large network of multiple
partners, resources and guidance (Stombaugh, 2016). The cons of receiving grants
include; the complexity of the grant applications especially the federal types when
compared to private foundations due to red tape. The drawback of grant funding is
increased oversight and monitoring of how funds are spent and whether results
achieved matched those promises (Stombaugh, 2016). Although private organization,
community foundations provide smaller grants; they may have simplicity in process
of grant applications for eligible applicants and they may provide technical assistance

An Analysis Of Darth Vader
This political cartoon illustrated by Greg Perry depicts the famous antagonist of
the movie saga Star Wars, Darth Vader. He is shown with facial features like
Canada s former Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Darth Vader is shown grasping a
copy of an article about Bill C 51. The two letters, PM are inscribed on Darth Vader s
chest plate. This confirms that Vader is a symbol of comparison to Harper. Vader
is seen to utter the two words of TRUST ME , as it is the only dialogue he is using
in this cartoon. This cartoon also has a caption PRIVACY WARS.
The cartoon contains context that revolves around a couple of intertwined concepts.
The main concept is Harper s decision to enforce Bill C 51. After 9/11, terrorist
attacks broke out in Canada. The terrorist initiatives included the random firing at two

He has used symbolism, labeling, captioning and coloring. The largest and only
symbol in this cartoon is Darth Vader, used to symbolize Stephen Harper. The next
technique is labeling, which Greg has applied twice. It is used to outline the
article in Vader s hands as Bill C 51. Secondly the letters PM is used to confirm that
Vader is compared to Harper. There are also two captions in this cartoon, the first
being the title PRIVACY WARS. Titles are not commonly used by cartoonists, but
Greg is trying to specify the conflicts of privacy that have risen due to Bill C 51. The
second caption is TRUST ME which is said by Vader in Star Wars
. This also has the
technique of irony applied to it. Vader is the main antagonist in the franchise and is
not trustworthy, yet he is telling many to believe in his actions and abilities. The last
technique used in this cartoon is coloring, which ties into the mood. The basic
shading of this cartoon is dark, implying the eerie and dark atmosphere created by
both Vader and Bill C 51. Greg Perry has efficiently used techniques to attack this

Ccot Essay Example

  • 1. Ccot Essay Example Writing a CCOT (Continuity and Change Over Time) essay can be a challenging task that requires a thoughtful approach and a deep understanding of the subject matter. This type of essay typically involves analyzing historical events, developments, or processes over a specified period, while also considering the continuities and changes that occurred during that time frame. Crafting a well-structured CCOT essay necessitates a strong command of historical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. One of the difficulties lies in the need to strike a balance between providing detailed historical context and maintaining a focus on the continuity and change elements. It requires synthesizing information from various sources, such as textbooks, scholarly articles, and primary documents, to construct a comprehensive and nuanced narrative. Additionally, the writer must establish a clear thesis that outlines the continuities and changes and supports it with relevant evidence. Moreover, a successful CCOT essay requires an understanding of the broader historical context and the impact of various factors on the continuity and change in the chosen subject. This may involve considering social, economic, political, cultural, or technological influences, depending on the specific topic. Furthermore, constructing a coherent and well-organized essay structure is crucial. The introduction should provide background information and establish the time frame, the thesis statement should be clear and focused, and body paragraphs should present evidence and analysis in a logical sequence. Transitions between paragraphs are essential to maintain the flow of the essay. In conclusion, writing a CCOT essay demands a combination of historical knowledge, analytical skills, and effective communication. It is a task that challenges writers to think critically about the complexities of historical developments and present their findings in a clear and cohesive manner. For assistance with similar essays or other academic writing challenges, one may explore resources like HelpWriting.net, where expert writers can provide support and guidance in crafting well-researched and well-structured essays. • 2. All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love through verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the condition of the human heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity. Thus, human beings are unable to understand and comprehend love s truest form which is found in the embodiment God s being. God s love is communicated to mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of salvation through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, those whom God allows Himself to be known can also know God s love through God s providential care and sustainment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes difficult to understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God s love. Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love. Thus, God reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while Jesus displays the attribute of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and the Holy Spirit makes the attribute known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love itself is in triunity; hence, there must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53). In the Godhead, the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John 14:31) in the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16) gave the Son his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22) which is expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption where the invisible is made visible (Conner, 1980). Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is not easily seen in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to human consciousness; hence, the
  • 3. Comparing Marx And Ritzer s The Mcdonaldization Of Society In the Manifesto of the Communist Party, Marx and Engels define Capitalism as an economic system driven by profit motive or labor that increases capital (Marx, 1888). Therefore, the profit motive is the driving force of capitalism. Industries established in this system use methods to cut the cost of the labor needed to create a product in order to profit. The most prominent method used is rationalization. Ritzer, author of The McDonaldization of Society, describes rationalization as the domination of American society with principles found in fast food industries (Ritzer, 2015). Collectively, these characteristics contribute to the successfulness of a profitable capitalist system. While they are designed to produce capital, the four principles... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In her book, From Here to Eternity, Caitlyn Doughty emphasized the irrationality and unethicality of the rationalized industry concerning death. After exploring many diverse cultures in search of the ultimate death ritual, Doughty realizes that, just like capitalism, America s funeral industry is based purely on the profit motive. The principles of McDonaldization have over rationalized the system creating a concrete method of dealing with death. For example, in America culture, the process of death has been moved completely into medical industries and out of the control of the dying and families. However, this rationalized system has created an impersonal system(s) [that] fosters a corrosive fear of that hinders our ability to cope and mourn (Doughty, book cover). She reveals that many people want to engage with death and expose their emotions, but instead are dictated by the efficiency, calculability, predictability, and control of the industry. Doughty also argues that that expense, cooperate ness, and bureaucracy of the funeral industry has served to destroy the intent of funerals: family and community joining in the mourning and celebration of an individual s life (Doughty, 2017). Marx and Engels state this succinctly: The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation (Marx, 8). Ethically, funeral homes do not allow for an

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a 429 page page tax bill, which has been passed by the House of Representatives. The Senate is still debating their plan. Under Trump s plan, he is declaring tax cuts both for individuals as well as companies. While the plans continue to be debated and finalized, it is important to follow the news to know how it will affect you. The largest and most talked about point among Americans is the tax bracket changes. This is what many relate to the tax savings. The House of Representatives have agreed to the plan that would decrease the number of tax brackets from seven to four. The rates would include 12, 25, 35, and 39.6 percent. Those who... This tax bracket is interesting because those who earn between 470.700 dollars to 1,000,00 who would usually pay 39.6% only have to pay 35%. The final tax bracket is the 39.6%. If single, you would fall under this bracket if you earned 500,001 or more under the new plan. Before, you would only had to have earned 418,401 dollars or more. If filing jointly, under the new plan those who aren 1,000,001 dollars or more would be taxed at 39.6%. Currently, anyone who made 470,701 dollars or more would be taxed at this rate. As you can see this is beneficial for the higher earning Americans. It puts less people in this high tax bracket. While this is Trump s plan and has been approved by the House, the Senate issued their own plan. They want to keep the same seven tax brackets, but lower some of the rates. While Trump hopes to have a plan on his desk before Christmas, I believe it will be an uphill battle to get the Senate to agree to only four brackets. While this is where many have their focus, Trump plans to change many other aspects. Both the House and Senate plan to eliminate the itemize deductions except charitable contributions, mortgage interest,

Tolkien describes it with this; There is a seed of courage hidden (often deeply, it is true) in the heart of the fattest and most timid Hobbit, waiting for some final and desperate danger to make it grow. Frodo was neither very fat nor very timid; indeed, though he did not know it, Bilbo (and Gandalf) had thought him the best Hobbit in the Shire. He thought he had come to the end of his adventure, and a terrible end, but the thought hardened him. He found himself stiffening, as if for a final spring; he no longer felt limp like a helpless prey. (Tolkien

Second thought s about this were weighing heavily in my head. Especially in the wake of the recent tragedy that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia. But being that this was a very important historical moment, I really wanted this experience not only for myself but for my daughters also. So with out any more hesitation, I said a quick prayer and set forward towards my destination. 2.5 hrs later we were in a thriving community where everyone shared the same enthusiasm that I did for the upcoming event. Moments later, I was greeted by Stephen St. Claire, An artist from Asheville, North Carolinawhom with a warm welcome, invited my daughters and myself to join himself and his wife Joy St. Claire, under the trees where everyone else was, and not alone. Understanding immediately the potential and power in this, I agreed, gathered my things and shuffled my daughters in their direction. Once we made it there, my daughters as always, hugged, greeted, and told them their names and ages. In like fashion, they were bombarded with the same. • 11. Good Followers Are Important Than A Good Leader Good followers are just as important if not more important than a good leader. Followers are the important people behind a leader providing support, and constructive criticism to the leader. Barbara Kellerman a leadership lecturer at Harvard University s John F. Kennedy School of Government author of Follower ship: How Followers are Creating Change and Changing Leaders, says that significant shifts in technology and culture have changed that dynamic, giving followers more power. And there is a lot you can learn about being a good leader by learning to be a good follower. Kellerman also state that being a follower does not make you a sheep and truthfully everyone is a kind of a regular follower in any way, maybe in our families, friends, clubs, or religious groups. A big key to being a good follower is to have good awareness. When you are aware of your surrounding group and can get a feel for what they are comfortable with or not. Such as when I am around my friends I know what kind of upsets them but at the same time I know I can be a little less aware because they have similar interests and are close to my age, but if I were surrounded by strangers of a different age I would have to be very careful and be aware of what may upset them. Personality is a good trait to have rather it is for work or everyday life, being outgoing and friendly is how you make friends and really how a lot of positive things happen to you. If you are working with a team it is important
  • 12. Symphony No. 9 Summary The concert I watched online was Symphony No. 9 From the New World composed by the great Antonin Dvorak. This performance was done by the New York Philharmonic and launched the New York Philharmonic s 175th anniversary season. This concert was performed by an orchestra and was definitely a performance I enjoyed to watch and listen to. In the beginning of the performance, the orchestra begins with an adagio tempo, using instruments such as cellos and violins. The tempo is very slow and soothing until it suddenly interrupted by the sound of trumpets. This is setting a tone that something very dramatic is about to happen. After the trumpets sound, oboes and flutes begin to play using the same adagio tempo as it was used in the beginning of the performance. As the flutes and clarinets slowly stop, you can see the conductor, Alan Gilbert, slowly move his arms apart to instruct the orchestra to get prepared. Gilbert then swings his arms up and the orchestra switches to an allegro tempo by using crescendo. Violins, cellos, drums, French horns, tenor trombones and bass trombones are now used to create a suspenseful tone as if something tragic has just happened. It then changes back to the adagio tempo using instruments with low pitch and then transfers back to the oboes, flutes and violins. The first ten minutes of the performance is a wide variation between adagio and allegro and molto allegro and basically switches tempos between the three which is why I really enjoyed

So, what are and how can we explain the differences and similarities among synoptic authors Matthew, Mark, Luke, and the gospel, John? Which Book was written first? As their king, he would rule the world with justice. However, many Jews overlooked prophecies that also spoke of this king as a suffering servant who would be rejected and killed. It is no wonder, then, that few recognized Jesus as the Messiah. ?How could this humble carpenter?s son from Nazareth be their king,? they thought. But Jesus was the King of all the earth, and it was Matthew (Levi) who took it upon himself (but not alone) to spread the word. Matthew used about 1475 words, 137 of which are words used by him alone of all the New Testament writers. Of these latter 76 are classical; 15 were introduced for the first time by Matthew, or at least he was the first writer in whom they were discovered; 8 words were employed for the first time by Matthew and Mark, and 15 others by Matthew and another New Testament writer. It is probable that, at the time of the Evangelist, all these words were in current use. Matthew s Gospel contains many peculiar expressions that help to give decided colour to his style. Thus, he employs thirty four times the expression basileia ton ouranon; this is never found in Mark and Luke, who, in parallel passages, replace it by basileia tou thou, which also occurs four times in Matthew. Matthew begins his account by giving Jesus? genealogy. He then tells of Jesus? birth and early years, including the escape

Within this perspective, behaviorists focus on the environmental rewards and punishers that maintain or discourage specific behaviors. B.F. Skinner once stated, I am sometimes asked, Do you think of yourself as you think of the organisms you study? The answer is yes. So far as I know, my behaviorat any given moment has been nothing more than the product of my genetic endowment, my personal history, and the current setting. (Skinner, 1983). According to Peter Boghossian, in the traditional behaviorist model, learners undergo some form of conditioning. The ultimate goal of conditioning is to create a behavioral result. In an academic venue, changing behavior is more difficult to measure than in other contexts, like a karate class, where there are observable physical behaviors that result from physical stimuli. For example, in the hypothetical karate class, if students do not form straight lines they are punched in the shoulder (stimuli), after a few people get out of line, and get punched, the line becomes noticeably straighter (behavioral response). However, in an academic context, behaviorists substitute verbal behavior (e.g. responding appropriately to a question) for

This group developmentstages will now be described below: The first stage in the group development model is the forming stage which is a time when a group officially comes together for the first time. Words such as wrestle and fight allude to the concept of a battle. With each piece of armor, we see a warrior in the making. If we forget to pick up our sword, we limit our fighting abilities to a defensive state only. We will constantly be dodging the opponent s weapons of warfare. It is when we pick up the sword, God s Word, that we have an offensive weapon. His word allows us to charge our enemy, and the rest of the armor is in place for our protection. God has our back along with our brothers and sisters in Christ. He is not sending us to fight without equipping us for battle. Prayer is heavy artillery and can be considered a big gun with the power to obliterate the opponent. Most believers delay prayer when facing a crisis, when all else fails, pray. One of the major connections the stood out between the works of Felicia s Journey and The Crying Games is personal and collective history. This major theme was seen throughout many characters in these films and established how they were portrayed and how they portrayed themselves. Although they are two completely different films, they still share the theme as a commonality on how history molded them into the people that they became. Hilditch, Felicia, Dil and Fergus are all characters that indicate the two types of history. The tension between collective and personal history causes difficulty for the characters as time progresses throughout the films. In the film of Felicia s Journey, Hilditch was treated cruelly by his mother. When she was in front of the camera, she would let him help and when he ruined something, she would act nice toward him. As the scientific developed and professionalised, instrumentation integrated yet further into the social routine of formal laboratory work and, arguably, became endemic within the fabric of everyday late industrial life1. This state of affairs has persisted since at least the late nineteenth century2. In some cases, instrumentation has almost subsumed the individual scientist within historical narrative. It is impossible to imagine classic depictions of the great myth of Galileo without the obligatory appearance of at least one of his telescopes3, or a sketch of Newton without his refracting prism. Celebration of material apparatus has been an enduring theme, particularly in more poplar depictions of the process of scientific progress. Today, the seemingly incomprehensibly complex microscope or (now orbital) telescope are still instantly recognisable, as visual shorthand for the sharpest points within the material armoury of the scientist. It is therefore undeniable that from the genesis of Western modernity in the sixteenth century there has been a near obsession with developing, enhancing and portraying devices of observation, measurement and quantification. Yet the literary examination and incorporation of scientific instruments into narrative and displays of physical heritage has been a convoluted and (at times)

Due to the uncertainty of the US monetary policy, normalization can be determined since it is data dependent (Axilrod, 2011). Whenever there is a shift in monetary policy, it is crucial to be mindful of the most likely occurrences since they come alongside by certain degrees of market turbulence and stress. Additionally, if the US monetary policy is normalized, some certain challenges will be formed for the economies in the emerging markets (Steven, 2011). It is upon the Federal Reserve therefore to address the risks that come with the US monetary policies. There are therefore key factors that have an influence on the amount of money that people hold desirably. One of them is consumer spending which is related directly to the demand of goods and services. During the periods whereby customers spend a

The results of the 1H NMR displayed the total signals, chemical shift, multiplicity and the integration of sample 10. The chemical shift tells the electron environment near the 1H nucleus*. When near a electron withdrawing group 1H nucleus is deshielded and is shifted downfield towards a higher ppm which gives evidence to atom A being near an electronegative atom with an peak observed of 5.00.
