The New Heaven And New Earth Essay
Topic: The New Heaven and New Earth
Text: Rev. 21:1 8
Need: All of us always look eagerly for something that is much better, especially a kind of life that
free from burdens, deceases, struggles and hardships. Can we look forward to that kind of life or
is it just a fantasy? As we study eschatology, Gods children can really look for this better life
much better, compared to any kind of world s betterment. But, when are we going to attain that
kind of life? Yes, God is going to create the new heaven and the new eartheverything new. How the
new heaven and the new earth will be to God s children? They will be a place of ...

In writing about heaven, the Puritan pastor, Richard Baxter, asked his readers, Why are not our
hearts continually there? Why dwell we not there in constant contemplation? . . . Bend thy soul to
study eternity; busy it about the life to come; habituate thyself to such contemplations, and let not
these thoughts be seldom or cursory, but settle upon them; bathe thy soul in heavenly delights.
Therefore, as God s children we have to learn to do them here Psa.27:4.
3.A holy resource (vv5 7)
пѓ I make all things new all that benefits the righteous. Only Jesus Christ is able to make
everything new. New wine, new heart, new spirit, new man, new heaven and new earth. All these
were created as new for man s benefits. The creation was made good and new for men to have
eternal fellowship with God.
пѓ In the NT Jesus invited everyone to come to Him for rest, to quench their thirst, for safety and
for all. He is the abundant resources and in Him there is no lacking of anything.

The Miracle Of Jesus Research Paper
In Exodus 3:29, the Lord God called the nation of Israel a stiff necked people; thus considering
Israel s obstinacy, and history of rejecting many of God s chosen, it becomes of no surprise that
Israel would also reject Jesus. According to the New Testament Scriptures, Jesus performed
many signs and wonders to authenticate being the Son of God and Israel s Messiah, however,
and as recorded by the gospel writers Matthew and Mark (Matthew 12:22 37; Mark 3:20 30),
Jesus miracle of casting a demon out of deaf and blind man was attributed to Beelzebub or Satan by
the Pharisees (Pentecost, 1981). Hence, the miracle not only caused dismay amongst the Pharisees
but the people who witnessed the miracle as well (Pentecost, 1981). Unfortunately, the people of
Israel were taught through the law by the Pharisees that the sheep should follow the shepherd;
therefore, the people of Israel were unwilling to accept Christ unless the Pharisees accepted Christ.
Regrettably, the Pharisees as shepherds quickly convinced the sheep that the miracle performed in

Unfortunately for Israel, Jesus had other ideas about what constituted a relationship to the Messiah.
Thus, in Matthew 12:46 50, it is recorded that Jesus rejected the idea of a blood relationship to the
Messiah when Jesus refused to acknowledge the blood relationship that existed between Jesus and
Jesus mother and brothers (Pentecost, 1981). Pointing to the disciples, Jesus Words indicated that
any relationship to the Messiah must be spiritual and based on faith; furthermore, any relationship
to the Messiah must also consist of wanting to do the Will of God (Pentecost, 1981). Jesus Words in
Matthew s narrative ran counterculture to what the Israelites believed; therefore, Israel continued to

History Of Accounting And Private Sector
Introduction
Since the early 1980s public sector accounting and private sector accounting have experienced
significant transformation such as decentralization, deregulation and the differences between thee
two sectors are highly topical and political in many countries (Blondal 2003). The key
transformation is the adoption of accrual basis of accounting rather than cash basis accounting by
increasing number of countries (Guthrie and Ryan 1998). Meanwhile, public sectors refer
specifically to organizations owned by government and private sectors refer to those organizations
which are not government, owned and run by individuals and companies for profit oriented
(Investopedia 2014). In this essay, there are several accounting issues to be discussed, include the
development of sector neutrality, advantages and disadvantages of accrual basis accounting in
public sector and meaningfulness of sector neutrality.
Development of sector neutrality
New Public Management is used to describe the institutionalization of private sector corporate
models into the public sectors (Guthrie and Ryan 1998). In order to set a standards to private and
public sectors, the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB) merged with the Australian
Accounting Standards Board (AASB) in 2000 (Ryan, Guthrie and Day 2007). After merging with
PSASB, the new AASB made a decision regarding International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRS) adoption in 2002 but effective in 2005 (Ryan, Guthrie and Day

The Demand Theory And Theories Of Corruption
Theories of corruption generally fall under two classifications i.e. demand theories and supply
theories. Demand theory models of corruption include two approaches: resource allocation
models and the principal agent relationship models (Jain, 1998). Resource allocation models
evaluate the costs of the allocation of resources to bribe seeking activities. The model is based
on the principle that bribe seeking is one aspect of any economic activity and thus part of a firm s
resources are devoted to this pursuit (Krueger, 1974). In a competitive system, bribe seeking
chances are produced either by agents over government policy or by underlying societal features
(Mauro, 1995).
Principal agent models of corruption postulate that the misuse of power by individuals
/organisations, which is driven by self interest (Shleifer Vishniv, 1993). The fundamental dilemma
comes from that agents are entrusted with authority on behalf on the principal (citizens). In a
democratic state, the elected officials and managers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Corruption is discussed in fields as diverse as economics, political science, anthropology, sociology,
history, organization studies, international business, business ethics, psychology, and philosophy.
According to Caiden (2001, 19), anthropologists found that public officials were distinguished from
the rest of the population for their unique role in providing services and goods to the rest of the
population. These public officials are expected to possess professional integrity, and consequently
uphold the public interest. Therefore, the public officials also contribute to good governance.
Corruption is barely a problem that is exclusive to developing countries (Klitgaard, 1998:3).
Additionally, according to various researches, (Transparency International, 2011 and Kligaard 1998)
corruption is mostly rampart in Africa.

Mexican American Family In The Mexican Family
El cambio es algo bueno. That means change is a good thing and I have a proposal that involves
change for families. I believe that Mexican families deserve a shot to live in America, even if
they are illegal immigrants. The plan involves a way where a United States family and a family
from Mexico can both benefit from each other. The three ways that a U.S. family and a Mexican
family can benefit from each other are: sharing different foods, learning new languages, and
learning new life skills. While these exchanges are going, the Mexican family earns free
citizenship as well. This is a government funded program. The families will have to pay for their
own food and housing, but the housing is supplied by the government for a low price. The housing
fee pays for a limited, but reasonable, amount of water and electricity.
No one likes to eat the same type of food every day. Mexican food is one of the most popular types
of food eaten in the United States. The Mexican families that come over to get their citizenship
can run Mexican restaurants during shifts throughout the day and night. The restaurants will be
open 24 hours a day at places like hospitals, hotels, and colleges. They will make simple kinds of
foods like: tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas. The food will be sold for a cheaper price than
usual, but the quality of the food will still be well and enjoyable. This will be benefiting the
Americans who need a quality lunch for cheap. This will also benefit the Mexicans

The English Language Learning Assessment
Student Background Elijah is a 2nd grade student who has been classified as an English
Language Learner by the Comprehensive English Language Learning Assessment (CELLA) at
the school. However, he is not fluent in his native language, which is Spanish. According to
Elijah, he does not speak Spanish at home or study it even though his parents speak the
language. He could comprehend in Spanish but can only speak a little of the language. Most of
the times, he responds to his mother in English. Elijah has one older sister who is married and
lives in Georgia, where his family used to live before they moved to Florida, and a younger
brother in Kindergarten. Elijah prefers addition problems over subtraction problems and can
read almost as fluently as his native English speaking peers. He can comprehend, follow
direction, and complete his assignments as well, but at a much slower rate than his peers. For
example, in a phonic instruction, Elijah was very slow at proving the words given on the board.
He continuously looked over at his peers whiteboard to see where they segmented the words
into two syllables and which letters were identified as a vowel or which letters were marked as
digraphs. On Tuesdays, Elijah s class goes to the computer lab for i Ready math. Students had
headphones that they used to listen to the directions, but Elijah s headphones failed to work on one
of those days. The teacher did not have any extra ones available either. As a result, Elijah had to read

Summary Of Activation Of Mtorc1
In the paper Activation of mTORC1 is essential for ОІ adrenergic stimulation of adipose browning
by Dianxin Liu et al, the authors sought to learn about the relationships between the opposing
hormone regulating systems of adipocytes, Insulin and catecholamines, and their effects on the
protein mTOR and its regulatory proteinRAPTOR. These interactions may lead to discoveries that
can ultimately help us enhance energy expenditure and combat metabolic disease. Adipose tissue
depots perform a wide range of functions in the human body and consists mainly of two
varieties, white adipose tissue (WAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT). WAT stores extra caloric
energy in the form of triglycerides, while BAT in direct contrast, rapidly converts oxidative energy
into heat for survival in the cold. In addition, adipose depots also secrete proteins and other factors
that are a part of energy metabolismand glucose homeostasis.... Show more content on

The catecholamines consist of norepinephrine and epinephrine, and their role is activate B
adrenergic receptors (ОІARs) to increase cAMP levels and cAMP dependent protein kinase A
(PKA) activity. This phosphorylation stimulates the release of adipose energy stores due to
lipolysis (the hydrolysis of triglycerides) and the liberation of free fatty acids. Insulin is the opposing
metabolic regulator that antagonizes the action of catecholamines to stimulate lipolysis by
activating phosphodiesterases that degrade cAMP and by using the protein kinase AKT to activate
lipid synthesis pathways to promote energy

Adolescent Self Esteem Essay
The study by Steese et al. (2006) included 63 adolescent girls with a mean age of 13. The program
met for ten weeks. Each session featured a different topic, such as relationships and friendship.
Results of the study indicate that self esteem measures between testing were not significant, but
several related concepts proved to be. Self efficacy attitudes did significantly improve after
treatment and can be linked to positive self esteem. An explanation for their results is the
possibility that the short duration of time could not change girls levels of self esteem. Every Body

Parents involvement in the process of building self esteem appeared to contribute to adolescents
improved perceptions of how their parents view them. There are also multicultural considerations
to have within the literature on adolescent self esteem. Berk (2007) considers culture as one of the
greatest influences on a child s self esteem. Cultural values and traditions impact how an adolescent
feels about themselves and their place in the world. Culture can be protective or it can present an
adolescent with stress that may damage self esteem. Keeny and McEachern (2009) identify many
multicultural challenges to self esteem. Some of these challenges include acculturation and
discrimination. If an adolescent does not demonstrate behaviors valued by the culture in which
they reside, their behaviors will prove to be potential challenges to their self esteem. This must be
taken into consideration when reviewing the literature on these adolescent populations. In addition
to being cautious about what language and vocabulary is used in self esteem research, researchers
should clearly define what aspect of self esteem they are measuring. In a sample of adolescents
ranging in age from 12 to 16 years old, Kenny and McEachern (2009) found that Hispanic
adolescents scored higher than both African American and Caucasians on their self concept. When
different subscales were used, the results were

Huckleberry Finn Flaws
Huckleberry Finn: The Great America Novel When I was in 5th grade I first read Huckleberry
Finn. Not the full version, mind you. It was of course censored to slaves and left out some very
meticulous details but it still had that feel of racism, the stereotypes, and all the things that had
been labeled controversial, now and then. But regardless of these flaws I kept reading, as it was the
first novelthat I had read that really hooked me in and left me with a real sense of American pride.
So when I was given the arguing side for Huck Finn, I was excited and even after the debate I
know that Huckleberry Finn is the Great American Novel. When we started the debate I
immediately interested by the points that both sides were presenting. Both... Show more content on

While the argument is that the plot is weak and has a unsatisfactory ending, I know for a fact it
is one of the only endings to a novel that I will ever remember. The ending really brought
together some previously left out details that Twain built up well in my opinion, and the final
goodbye to the territory really left me as a reader feeling American pride. This American pride is
also something that I will forever remember as it is not only a main focus, but is the biggest part
of the argument for being the great American novel. It s sense of adventure and freedom left me
and I m sure people with the feeling that anything was possible through freedom and adventure,
the very things symbolized my America. So, really it s a no brainer for me. It would be an
absolute travesty to remove Huckleberry Finn from our curriculum as it offers so much and
portrays the real life that existed for African Americans during the 1840s. It has adventure, daring,
morals, complex emotions, and most of all an overtone of American pride that can always be
useful to younger generations that are still learning the term. Sure, there are other books that could
tell the story of how wrong slavery is and the evils of racism but I believe that what Huckleberry
Finn brings to the table is to much to

Introduction:
Palm oil is an essential ingredient we all use in our every day lives. This product is mostly
manufactured in Africa, Southeast Asia, or Brazil. It s used in shampoo, baked goods, cleaning
substances, or even toothpaste ( What s the issue , n.d.). As you can tell all of these are used daily,
palm oil isn t just only a crop used for certain little things, it s used in every ones life all the time.
In this paper I ll be showing the two sides of palm oil. Where animals such as orangutans are
becoming endangered because of the production of the oil. Also the making of palm oil is what
keeps our world a content place, along with providing jobs for those who need it. Overall, this

A Study On Carbon Dioxide Gas
LITERATURE STUDY
2.1 Carbon dioxide gas
2.1.1 Overview
Carbon dioxide, in its gaseous form, is a natural constituent gas of the Earth s terrestrial atmosphere
[5]. According to the standards outlined by The International Institute of Refrigeration the chemical
formula for carbon dioxide is CO2 and the refrigerant code for carbon dioxide is R744 [6]. CO2 gas
is poisonous to living organisms when inhaled in a sufficiently concentrated form. The molecule
of carbon dioxide consists of two oxygen atoms bonded to one carbon atom. It can be produced by
the combustion of hydrocarbons, as the product of breathing of living people and animals and by
fermentation [7]. The carbon dioxide molecule is illustrated in the figure that follows: Figure 2:

Declaration Of Sentiments Rhetorical Analysis
The opening paragraph of Elizabeth Cady Stanton s Declaration of Sentiments, which narrates,
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary..., (Stanton 1), along with the title itself
reveals a connection to Thomas Jefferson s Declaration of Independence. Elizabeth Cady Stanton
wrote the declaration after being excluded from the World Anti Slavery convention, much like how
the colonists were excluded from British Parliament. Declaration of Sentimentslists the grievances
of women, which is another similarly to Jefferson s Declaration of Independence where he lists the
grievances of the colonists. Stanton introduced her Declaration of Sentiments at the Seneca Falls
Convention, which further conveys similarity to Jefferson s Declaration of Independence as his
Declaration of Independence was introduced at the Second Continental Congress. Stanton,
modeling her Declaration of Sentiments after Jefferson s Declaration of Independence, uses
anaphora, the rhetorical triangle, allusions, personification, and harsh diction to achieve her effect
of inspiring change to the benefit of women in society, similar to how Thomas Jefferson inspired
change in the colonies through his Declaration of Independence. In order to emphasize and
organize her points about the grievances of women in Declaration of Sentiments, Stanton uses
anaphora in like manner to the way Jefferson uses it in Declaration of Independence. In most of
Stanton s paragraphs between lines 28 and 70 of her

The Treatment Of Pancreatic Transplants
Pancreatic transplants have had a lot of advancements over the last several years to help patients
with Type 1 DM and the complications that arise from the disease. The increasing numbers of
people with diabetes is cause for concern. In some cases diabetes can be prevented but in others
its more about genetics; but with many medical advances patients have a better chance for
survival. With advancements in surgical procedures pancreatic transplants are improving as well
as the increased odds of curing Type 1. When this happens this will decrease the number of other

Diabetes effects all body systems not just the endocrine. All three types can effect and cause
damage to the neurological, renal, and circulatory systems.
There are different treatment options for Type 1 and 2 diabetes that include oral medications, insulin
injections, and insulin pumps(Diabetes and Kidney Disease). Oral medications are the most
commonly used because of their ease of use and usually lowers the hemoglobin A1C effectively but
can at times cause hypoglycemia (glucose levels falling below normal range of values). Oral
medications are also mostly used for Type 2. Insulin is the method of choice in type 1 diabetes
treatment plans. Insulin injections help reproduce the secretions of the pancreas. There are two
types of insulin that is used, long acting and short acting. These help to better manage a person
depending on meal consumption, caloric intake, and carbohydrate intake. Another way to manage
type 1 is by an insulin pump. An insulin pump delivers continuous subcutaneous infusion of insulin
(Lemur and Batuman 210). Only 1 insulin is used in a pump, fasting acting. Also a pump can be
programmed to release different amounts of insulin depending on the time of day to better manage
glucose levels without multiple injections daily.
Diabetes can lead to other co morbidities making the body more difficult to manage and maintain
balance. When this happens a condition called

Pros And Cons Of Formative Assessment
In life, being assessed is inescapable in most spheres of human existence. Assessment is the
process of gathering and discussing information from multiple and diverse sources in order to
develop a deep understanding of what students know, understand and can do with their knowledge
as a result of their educational experiences (Huba Freed, 2000). Examinations serve many
purposes. Teachers use them to determine if learning/curriculum objectives are being achieved and
the results also forms part of the process of accountability to parents. Learner assessment is best
concerned as a form of two way communication in which feedback on the educational process or
product is provided to its key stakeholders (McAlphine,2002). There are two major... Show more

There are many pros and cons to summative assessment, however, it can create unnecessary pressure
and stress on students. Conversely, formative assessment is a method used to monitor student s
progress to provide ongoing feedback so that instructors or teachers can improve their teaching
strategies to meet the learners needs (Lucie Renard 2017, para. 2). Formative assessment can take
many forms such as formal quizzes, course and written assignments, questioning techniques, case
study reports, peer examinations, surveys, group and class presentations and discussions with
students.
Research suggests that formative assessment will allow every student to be entitled to a fair and
equal chance (Doherty 2011). Furthermore, assessment initiates student s learning.
Assessments of and for learning are both important. If assessments of learning provide evidence of
achievement for public reporting, then assessments for learning serve to help students learn more.
The crucial distinction is between assessment to determine the status of learning and assessment to
promote greater learning (Stiggins,

The Complex Nature Of The Nursing Profession
In my relatively short tenure as a nurse I have come to understand and firmly believe that the
nursing profession is widely misinterpreted and sometimes viewed by the public as a systematic,
task driven, emotionally simplistic and withdrawn profession. When in reality the nursing
profession s complex nature requires those involved to stay current, active and embracing a
dynamic approach to their interactions. A dynamic nature is required in order to be successful in
nursing, as adaptive change, high energy and a well rounded mindset are qualities that equate to
effective care. The complex nature of interactions and health care as an encompassing system can
prove to be challenging but yield effective adaptive results. As Kleffel states that nurses need an
ecocentric view to successfully identify the multitude of interrelationships affecting effective care
(as cited in Doane Varcoe, 2004, p. 50). That is that a nurse must approach a situation or interaction
from a dynamic and comprehensive perspective.
The many interrelationships that affect the seemingly simple interactions between nurse, patient
and families are everything but simple, in fact, they are an intricate web of heterogeneous relational
factors with a purpose of contributing and developing the current state of being. The theoretical
framework of Complexity Science paired with Complex Adaptive System (CAS) is effective in
explaining human interactions and its key role in effective health care (Lindberg, Nash,

Social Bonding Theory
This paper is going to highlight the social bonding theory. Control theorist Travis Hirsch i s
believes the cause of delinquency is based on the idea that people have innate desire to commit
crime ( Griswold, and , Roberts, Wiatrowski 1981) .basically no matter how much one prevent
crime, someone is bound to commit crime. According to social bond there are four factors that can
determine rather an individual is going to deviate from societal norm; Attachment, Commitment,
Involvement, and Belief (Grisworld et. al 1981). Example of the social bonds Attachment family,
commitment school councils and the goals to pursue higher education. Involvement dance,
afterschool programs, and camps the involvement in different activities to keep busy. Belief
Religiosity, active in church groups, attends church frequently (Grisworld et. al 1981). Critiques
The objective is to critique the short comings of Social bonding theory. Also illustrate additional
factor that explain why an individual is likely to commit crime. Also highlight preventive measures
why individual is less likely to commit crime or violate the norms. The problem that lies with the
social bond theory that it does not apply to all races. The studies only focuses males whereas
should include analysis female as well (Heimer Matsueda 1987).because males are not the only one
that commits crime. This theory does not have preventive measures to prevent crime from

Ethics Vs Bananas
Ethics vs. Bananas
In source one, the graph shows the value of a banana sold in the UK and how the total is split
between the different hands involved. Although this source is very factual is has a deeper meaning
than just numbers. The banana is one of the cheapest fruit sold in supermarkets, even though they
come from thousands of kilometers away. The way our world has made transportation so fast,
cheap, and available allows these banana s to sit on our shelves. The transportation of the fruit has
the highest value at four pence where the total value is twelve pence. The sale of the bananas at
such a low cost is due to cheap transportation, the supply of the fruit being higher than the
demand, and the low wages of the workers. The force of global transportation has made goods and
services like banana s more readily available. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Canine Bone Development And Developmental Diseases
Canine bone development and developmental bone diseases are of growing interest to researchers
and consumers. In order to produce healthier canines and to reduce the incidence of diseases
commonly found in canines, it is important to understand what bone development is and how it
occurs, factors that influence bonedevelopment, and developmental diseases. Development can be
defined as a series of changes that takes place in an animal beginning in the embryonic state and
lasting until maturity. These changes lead to a more complex organizational state of the body,
starting with simple cellular organization and leading to formation of body systems.
Ossification Mechanisms
Intramembranous ossification and endochondral ossification are the types of bone development
that occur during fetal development. Intramembranous ossification is the formation of flat bones
(i.e, cranial bones). The first stage of this type of ossification is the formation of an ossification
center in the fibrous connective tissue membrane. The ossification center is formed by
mesenchymal cells differentiating into osteoblasts. The osteoblasts then secrete osteoid into the
fibrous membrane and is subsequently mineralized. As the osteoid accumulates, it is laid down
between fetal blood vessels, forming woven bone. The vascularized osteoid then condenses and
forms the periosteum. The final stage of intramembranous ossifcation is the formation of the the
bone collar in compact bone and the formation of red

David Lockyer s War Limericks
War it isn t desired by anyone. If we can, we try to avoid it as much as possible. But there are
times when war can t be avoided. This fighting ultimately leads to thousands of innocent lives lost
men, women and children. We grieve their deaths, we mourn their deaths and we feel saddened by
their deaths. Poetrycan help alleviate this saddened feeling. It can help us to feel happier in times
of great depression and stress. Some poems however strike the heart of warand the horrors related
to it. The poets can express their points of view on war, conscriptions or the propagandas in a
dark manner and create a gloomy atmosphere. One of these poems is part of David Lockyer s War
Limericks. As the title suggests, this poem is a limerick with sound and visual language used to
boost the poems meaning.
The theme of Lockyer s poem is the B 17, a bomber which flew for the United States Army Air
Corps in World War II. In this poem, Lockyer is trying to express his own point of view... Show

In the poem, Lockyer is expressing the success of the B 17 bomber in World War II. The bomber
was a relatively large airframe measuring in at a wingspan of 32 metres and an overall length of 21
metres. Because of this, he compares the B 17 to a castle, saying it was a castle in the air. He also
calls the B 17 a flying fortress. This name again gives us a visual image of just how large this
bomber was.
Speaking of a flying fortress, this is one example of sound language that Lockyer has used. It is
a form of alliteration and helps to flow the poem. It helps to emphasise the idea of the B 17 being
a castle in the sky. Alliteration also adds to the rhythm of a poem and in a limerick this is all the
more important. Because this poem is a limerick, it contains an AABBA rhyme and rhythm pattern.
Rhyme and rhythm in a poem are important because they provide the heartbeat of the poem to
which it can flow

Although the intent was to keep the armed forces of South Korea well trained against a possible

Ralph Waldo Emerson s Definition Of Success
S for Success
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
(____) . This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson captures his paradigm of success. People strive to
achieve success and create goals to obtain it; however, a single minded interpretation of success
leads to missing out on opportunities. The presence of challenges provides the opportunity for
success and success comes with the determination to overcome the challenges.
Early in the fifteenth century, the word success first appeared. Developing from Latin word
successus , it was first defined as the fortune (good or bad) befalling anyone in a particular situation
. In the mid 1600 s, the definition of success a prosperous achievement of something attempted was
altered and fits the current use of the word. Appearing in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1978,
the latest entry of the definition of success is defined as an instance of an achievement ( Success ).

Reinforcement Schedules Work
Explain how reinforcement schedules work using everyday examples. Reinforcement means to
strengthen, and is used in psychology to refer to anything stimulus which strengthens or
increases the probability of a specific response. For example, if you want your child to do
something more and more, you may give her a treat every time she does that. Thus the child will
eventually know that if I do this, it will be followed by a treat and the more you praise her the
more she repeats that. This might be cleaning the table after every meal that she takes and you
give her praise or a tin of yoghurt for cleaning the table. Another example of reinforcement could
be something happening at work when you know that a promotion comes after a hard work. This is
done in different forms of reinforcements which are positive and negative reinforcement,
punishment and extinction. There are also different reinforcement schedules which are fixed and
variable ratios and fixed and variable intervals. All these are used in our day to day living when
people are being rewarded or punished for different responses. This was done by BF Skinner
through his experiments which gave him a result that any behaviour is followed by a consequence.
(http://www.allpsych.com/tests/psychology/learning.html) Reinforcement schedules rely on the
principles of operant conditioning which is a type of associative learning in which a person s
behaviour changes according to consequences associated with that behaviour.

Capitalism vs Democracy
Capitalism and Democracy The political system and the economic system of the United States have
been intertwined since the very founding of our country. Although there are many different views
on how well the systems work or how they function, this has been a common thought shared by all
different sides. Some have an optimistic view of capitalism, while others feel as though capitalism
favors too few people. Two major points of view, the conservative and the reform liberal, describe
how capitalism works, and the role for the government in managing the marketplace, in two similar,
yet very different ways. First, we look at the thoughts of Milton Friedman, of the conservative point
of view. According to Friedman, capitalism is a free... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would also be the function of the government to regulate public goods , or something where it
is difficult or impossible to determine the particular user or the amount used. For example, a
lighthouse is a public good, because it is almost impossible to identify who uses the light to guide
them or how often they use it. Friedman ultimately believes that the government should stay out of
economic affairs as much as possible, for every time the government acts the freedom of the
people shrinks, and all government interventions have more costs then they do benefits. When the
government regulates the way a business operates, for example, requiring steel plants to put filters
on their smoke stacks, it increases the cost of doing business, which increases prices and decreases
sales, production, jobs and wages. Capitalism, according to Friedman, has a way of efficiently
working things out on its own, and needs very little government intervention. Many programs we
have today, such as social security, Medicare, and welfare to name a few, Friedman would do away
with, as they are the responsibility of the individual, not the government. The marketplace is even
more proportional to public demand than the political system is, and will constantly cycle through
different phases and work itself out without the need of government regulation. Milton Friedman
looks at capitalism as a free and voluntary system that should be driven by the consumer not

Communication Declined
Personally, I believe the advancements in technology have greatly assisted us to communicate
with one another. However, I also believe that our communication skills have declined. The
internet was a new concept when I was younger, and the only way to reach a person was either by
phone or a letter. Then came the creation of AOL instant messenger and email. This allowed
people to speak with one another without the need to remember a telephone number or mailing
address. These new tools also assisted in the introduction of a lackadaisical mentality during
conversation. I specifically remember using a/s/l instead of typing out age, sex and location when I
was in a chat room. We became accustomed to using abbreviated terms and the need for using
proper punctuation or grammar was never frowned upon. Now my primary communicationtool is a
text message since it is much faster than calling an acquaintance. Email is the primary tool I use
when I need to formally communicate. I can be as formal as necessary while compiling my
thoughts and proofread the message prior to sending it to the recipient.
In my opinion, the formality of conversations has dramatically declined compared to a few decades
ago. Instead we speak in fragmented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ecology is the study of how organisms interact within their environment. Every species interacts
with its surroundings, whether it s within their populations, community, ecosystem, etc. In this lab,
we will be comparing two different species and how they grow alone as well as together, in the
same environment. More specifically, in this lab, we will be dealing with one of the most important
ideas in ecology, the niche. Due to this concept, we can study the environmental circumstances the
organism can handle, the essential resources it will need to survive, and how it will obtain these
resources. Different species can hold similar niches, and the same ... Show more content on

Algae is one of the most diverse and interesting organisms on the planet. This is because there are

determine what types of interactions the two can encounter. The two species tested were
Closterium and Micrasterias algae. We labeled them as species 1 and 2. The purpose of this lab is
to determine whether the selected algae species will demonstrate competition or resource
partitioning with the coexistence of each other versus alone. At the end of this lab we should be
able to determine which species upheld the best under all of these circumstances.
Methods:
This lab was performed with two different types of algae, Micrasterias and Closterium. Within our
groups, we counted how many of each species there were to begin with. Each group sampled one
micro liter of each algae stock, five times, and then found the average of the five trials and
converted it to milliliters. There were three different test tubes of algae stock containing 100
individuals. The first contained 100 Closterium,

The Voice From A Birdcage
The Voice from a Birdcage A brave woman sang a sombre song from inside a birdcage in the late
19th century. As a novelist and also a well known feminist, Charlotte Perkins Gilman fearlessly
spoke up about her conception, freedom, in her masterpiece, The Yellow Wallpaper . She
proposed big issue divorce around that time. In this semi autographical story, she describes her
conflict of marital discord. Gilman intertwines her frustrations about a relationship with her
husband and depicts the distress through many symbols, so that people should be aware what
genuine happiness as a human being is. Through the relationship between Else and John, Gilman
pointed out that females are given a disadvantage by their husbands. For example, she explains
that John stands high because of his social status as a physician and a husband. Gilman illustrates
this situation through the symbolism of the wallpaper; two breadth didn t match one is a little
higher than the other (768). Another example is that Else is eager to live on the first floor
because she can see the beautiful garden from the window, but John keeps her on the second floor
even though they should move all the furniture from the first floor. Who is willing to carry all the
heavy furniture such as a bed, a mattress, a dining table and chairs to upstairs only for three
months? John s decision is quite unreasonable. However, John s long absence is the most
frustrating for her. John goes out all day, and sometimes he stays in

Exercise And Loss Analysis Essay
Best exercises for butt and thighs
Your butt and thighs consist of muscles called the glutes, quads and hamstrings.
Most individuals looks for ways to reduce certain parts of their body however, the bitter truth is that
you just cannot spot reduce.
Fat loss or weight loss is dependent on your diet and your exercise. Exercises such as cardio
workouts torch major calories, whereas strengthening workouts focus on increasing strength and
muscle tone, while burning considerable calories at the same time.
In order to reduce the size of certain body parts, you need to get involved in a few intense cardio
workouts to burn overall body fat. Couple this with isolation of compound exercises of the lower
body parts to get a firmer and tighter butt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jump squats with weights
Jumps squats are excellent bodyweight strengthening exercises which can be effectively intensified
using dumbbells.
Make sure you practice perfect form to prevent injury. Stand with feet shoulder width apart with
your feet tilted away from each other. Hold the weights at your side, engage your core and lower
your body to a squat until thighs are parallel to the floor. Jump as high as possible and land back to
starting, squat position. Repeat with arms straight down to your sides throughout the entire
workout. Make sure your weights aren t too heavy for this workout in order to reduce risk of injury.
Jump squats are super effective without weights too!
Prisoner squats

Autism Spectrum Disorder
Statistical evidences. ASD s gender proportion suggests that the autism is sex linked, and the
statistical evidence convincingly shows that genetic factors are playing key role in the
prevalence of ASD. To begin with, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published the relationship between the number of autistic
boys and girls. The statistical evidence shows that boys are more inclined to become autistic
than girls. CDC states that 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls were identified as having ASD. This
observation shows that ASD is likely a sex linked inheritance. Sex liked inheritance is defined as a
pattern of inheritance characteristic of genes located on the sex chromosomes of organisms having
a chromosomal mechanism for sex determination (Sadava et al., 2014). If the ASD was sex linked
inheritance, the ratio between male and female exhibiting the phenotype would result in 3 to 1
under the normal curve. The ratio between boy and girl is approximately 5 to 1, which shows that
there is a strong association between sex linked inheritance and ASD. For this reason, it is
reasonable to conclude that ASD is primarily influenced by the genetic factor, which is prenatal. On
the other hand, some behavioral psychiatrists would argue that the conclusion is inaccurately
determined, since the genetic mutation would not occur within a decade. As indicated in Appendix
C: Table 1, the rate at which the number of ASD children increase

Differences Of Arial And Helvetica
As we have seen from this case, typefaces, more than any other design elements, provide a link to
the history of printing and how technology influences the concept of normal . The development of
normal rests on how human interfaced with the technology: partly on the new added or
disappeared constraints; partly due to the different interactions in a totally new context. Design is
refining the normal bit by bit so that the typefaces as well as other products are still fits in with
people s life with the core of absence and familiarity and finally exceeds normal design to Super
Normal design by the judgement of time.
Super Normal, from a conceptual point of view, leans on an intentional and extraordinary
ambivalence (Fukasawa Morrison, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both are sans serif typefaces that are universally embraced by different communication
platforms. At first glance, they seem very similar. When Arial was released in 1982, it was seen as
a copy of Helvetica of 1957. But if a user examines the characters in each typeface closely, the
differences between them become apparent. Mark Simonson, an American graphic designer,
produced an analysis of the two, which shows how much more refined Helvetica s detailing is
than Arial s. The tail of the a is gently curved in Helvetica, as is the first connection of the bowl to
the stem, but not in Arial. Similarly, the top of the t and the ends of the strokes in the C and S are
perfectly horizontal in the former, but slightly angled in the latter. He also noted that the stem of
Helvetica is more complex in the structure than those in Arial. The distinguishing details are so tiny
that can be noticed when they are scrutinized magnified versions of each character as Simonson
did. Yet it is these subtleties that constitute Helvetica a finer example of design than Arial for
professionals. Functionally the two fonts are roughly equal, as both are admirable clear and
considered to be Super Normal, but aesthetically Helvetica is

Analysis of Chile s Road to Socialism Essay
The Yarur textile factory played an important role in Chilean politics, and was the central role for
the uprisings and downfalls in Chilean history. Its first key component was that it represented an
economic empire based of paper and cloth that used these resources to gain political power through
the aspect of having wealth. The second element of the Yarur factory that gave its importance in
Chilean politics was that it represented a monopoly of Chiles political capital. In Weavers of
Revolution, Peter Winn depicts the relationship from a revolution from above and revolution from

His election came to influence workers, peasants, and pobladores in that they saw a perfect time to
organize the push for socialization in the workforce.
However, as stated on page 140 of Weavers of Revolution, the first hint of a problem between a
conflicting revolution from above and revolution from below came apparent in the context that
Allende s promise to never use the security apparatus of the state against the people.. led the
lower class workers to demand more and act towards a revolutionary process from below. This
type of freedom and revolutionary process caused the people to act for themselves to pursue
their life long dreams, partly because for the first time, they had seen the legitimacy of Allende s
word upon his speech to take over the factory from Amador. Increasingly, these rapid changes
from below gave conflict to the government in that their rule of governing from above in a
gradual legal way was at risk. On one side, the workers felt that by demanding more rapid
changes they were fulfilling the Popular Unity program in favor of Allendes support, while on
the other, the Popular Unity program and its supporters felt that their strategy for political and
economic support for a revolution from above was lost. This type of push and pull politics can be
seen on page 140 as Winn stated, In this delicately balanced strategy of economic and political

Avoid Flooded Car
Avoid Flooded Cars Using These Easy Car Buying Tips
If you are in the market to buy a car, the last thing you want to do is spend your hard earned
money on a flooded car. Flood damaged cars are unpredictable, failing right at the most inopportune
times. They also have a negative effect on a vehicle s electrical system, which can lead to accidents
and increased auto insurance premiums.
Fortunately, you don t have to risk it all on a flood damaged vehicle. Using the following tips and
tricks, you can easily spot a flood damaged car and avoid making significant future repairs in the
process.

If you are purchasing a used car, then upholstery should have somewhere. If a used vehicle s
upholstery or carpet looks as if it s newer than it should be, then it probably is a replacement for
the water damaged upholstery and carpet. Avoid getting tricked into purchasing a car that will give
you a lot of headaches in the future.
Take a Look at the Oil in the Vehicle
Depending on the extent of the damage, you can recognize a flood damaged vehicle by the oil
in the car. In a deep flood, water will flood the engine and mix with the oil in the car. If this
happens, you ll see water mixed in the oil on the dipstick. Any bubbles of water, even one, is a sign
that you should avoid the vehicle altogether.
Floods Leave Dirt
When water rises and gets in places it should, it has the tendency to leave dirt trails once it s
gone. The displaced dirt is a sign you can t ignore. Look for dirt trails in odd places if you
suspect you are looking at a flood damaged vehicle. You should check the glove compartment,
trunk, and under the seats. When you see dirt in unusual places, then it s time for you to look for a
new vehicle.

Government Power Contradicts In Today s Society
Governmental power contradicts with how our society functions as a whole. In today s society
the government influences the lives of many with how we need to treat others. For example, in

bullied and terrorized for the color of her skin. A young boy had told her that her family was
going to get kicked back to their country now with a new president sending illegal immigrants back
to their home country (Kowalski). In the same sense, the recent tragedy that has hit our nation
today is the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. 19 year old

A Brief Look at the Philosophy of Descartes Essay
When Descartes created the Method of Doubt his main mission was to develop a method that
would bring him to the real truth. It was important that his initial beliefs were absolute. If any of
them were in doubt, then it put the entire structure of knowledge at risk. Thus, Descartes developed
a method to get rid of those beliefs of which he could not be completely being confident in them.
This process is called the Method of Doubt. The first action to do while using the Method of Doubt
is using the skeptical Method of Doubt. Then one must use the optimistic phase where one can
restore the arrangement of knowledge based upon the truths that remained after taking these steps
of his Method of Doubt. The main question with Descartes s method... Show more content on

It s such a long period of time we do not remember what was going on through the mind. Descartes
then mentions maybe we were not even thinking at all. His goal is to discovery a footing on
which all other knowledge can be collected. He agrees with Plato that knowledge needs to have
certainty. But, then again, disagrees with the fact that the real world is not knowable. Descartes
questions to stop thinking are to no longer exist? Descartes would state that even though we may
not recall what we were dreaming, we were definitely having something going on throughout our
thoughts. Throughout our life there are many things we cannot look back on because we do not
remember what we were thinking at that time. It is possible that being woken in the middle of
the night by a loud noise and be right in the middle of a crazy thought and still we might not
remember a thing. Even though we cannot remember any thought before we wake, we know that
there was because we heard the noise and woke up. If we look back on our past there are times we
do not remember. For example, we do not remember being born or events that occurred while we
were infants but that does not mean that we were not thinking at that time. One can assume that
thinking means that there is a physical being but Descartes was still not so certain

Postmodernism And Modern Architecture
Identify and discuss three key issues in the relationship between Modern and
Postmodern architecture or design
Modernism is a Philosophical movement that along with cultural trends and changes arose in the
late 19th century and early 20th century. Modern architecture developed as a result of social and
political revolutions. Others believe it was driven by engineering and technological development.
Along with the industrial revolution the availability of materials such as iron steel and sheet glass
led to the invention of new building techniques.
The common themes of modern architecture include the term Form follows functions.

Editing and the Crisis of Open Source Essay
Editing and the Crisis of Open Source
The Free Software movement that began in 1985 and the newer open source movement,
represented a serious threat to traditional methods of production and distribution. The idea of a non
proprietary method of cultural exchange was and is a radical departure from traditional models that
have come to restrict creativity and free exchange. In the ensuing years, there was a gradual drift
away from ideas of non proprietary toward ideas of access to software s code level. This mirrored
an evident diffusion of these open ideas into the cultural sphere. Open publishing, open editing,
open music, and open culture are now hip buzzwords that point toward a new cultural formation

Wikipedia.org, an open source encyclopedia, describes this conflict of terms.
It was hoped that the usage of the newer term open source would eliminate such ambiguity, and
would also be easier to market to business users (who might mistakenly associate free software with
anti commericalism). Since its introduction, however, the open source label has been criticized for
fostering an ambiguity of a different kind: that of confusing it for mere availability of the source,
rather than the freedom to use, modify, and redistribute it.
One of the early defects of free software was the perceived inability to use it in for profit ventures.
Whereas the Free Software movement thinks of the freedom of software s code to be available
to all as an ethical and social imperative, open source treats it as a practical issue. Both GPL and
open source licenses can be used in for profit ventures. Copylefted material must remain free for
people to modify, but can be priced for people to buy.
With the advent of the term open source, it now appears that everything is open source, or is at
least sold that way. When not applied to programming, open content is used to describe a wide
range of activities that have nothing to do with computer software. There is still the problem of

A Leader Who Doesn t Have Knowledge Of The Best Person As...
Leadership is a term on which no one can reach a consensus as it carries a different meaning and
weightage for each individual. Some people may consider a person as their leader who is
capable of taking them away from hardships or caring for them, or some people may consider a
man steeped in wisdom and learning to be a leader. Difference notwithstanding, there still seems
to be some commonality in all the perspectives behind the definition, which is related to
choosing a best of the best person as their leader. The simple bottom line is that, nobody wants to
have a person as his leader who doesn t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his
people or who is not blessed with a certain temperament foe bearing hardships for his people, nor a
vision for where they should be or how they should grow and influence the world around them.
As the founder of tech startup, it is only natural for me to pick a leader who is a true
technological visionary. It was not enough to simply pick someone who created innovative
products, or created and ran a billion dollar company. For me it would have to be someone with
the vision to shape the future and world around him, a person who could see how his works would
directly impact the trajectory of the world and its impact on the human race at large. A true
visionary. Therefore, for the purpose of this assignment I have chosen to perform a study to Elon
Musk, the business magnate, engineer and inventor to name but a few of his accolades. In

The Nomination Process For A Site
The nomination process for a site to be considered on the World Heritage List is comprised of five
steps, which include the tentative list, nomination file, advisory bodies, World Heritage Committee,
and criteria for selection. The tentative list is where a country makes an inventory of all cultural
and natural heritages within the site s boundaries. This tentative list may be submitted for
inscription for the next five to ten years, and can be updated at any time. This step needs to take
place before the World Heritage Committee can consider a site for inscription on the World
Heritage. The nomination file includes all necessary documentation and maps of the site. This
nomination can then be submitted to the World Heritage Centre for review. Once complete the file
can then be sent to the appropriate Advisory Bodies for evaluation. There are two Advisory Bodies.
Both of which evaluate a site that is being nominated, and include the International Council on
Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the World Conservation Union (IUCN). These committees
provide evaluations on a site. There is a third Advisory Body known as the International Centre for
the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). This last group
provides expert advice as to the conservation of cultural sites, along with training activities. The
World Heritage Committee will then make a final decision on whether a site will receive an
inscription. This committee meets once a

Liability For Negligence
Introduction
Litigation is becoming more prevalent in all areas of society, including education. Schools are now
the focus of an array of legislation which influences and impacts on the daily professional lives of
teachers. Subsequently, teaching is becoming an increasingly complex profession. The most
prominent legal concern expressed by teachers is their vulnerability to negligence claims, as they
work with those, who in the process of enhancing their physical, intellectual and critical abilities, are
more susceptible to injury.
Negligence is defined as the omission to do something which a reasonable man...would do, or
doing something which a prudent and reasonable man would not do. The general principle is that
one should not harm those to whom they owe a duty of care, by act or omission. Action for
negligence is grounded on the breach of a duty to exercise reasonable care. To be actionable,
negligence must consist of four elements; a duty, breach of the duty, causation and injury. The test
frequently applied by the courts is that of a reasonable person placed in the defendant s
circumstances.
Liability for negligence cannot arise until it has been established that the man who has been
negligent owed some duty to the person who seeks to make him liable for his negligence. Teachers
have a legal duty of care, due to the special characteristics of the teacher pupil relationship to take
reasonable care to ensure that students meet with no foreseeable injury

Similarities Between Bruxism And Sleep Apnea
Bruxism (teeth grinding) mainly occurs during sleep, which is why years often go by before
sufferers realize they have the disorder. And when left untreated, cases of severe bruxism are
capable of damaging tooth enamel and even fracturing teeth. If you re suffering from bruxism, read
below to learn what causes the disorder and how to treat it.
The Connection Between Bruxism and Sleep Apnea
Until recently, little was known about bruxism; however, modern research has uncovered many
important details about this mysterious disorder. One important new area being studied is sleep

The Relationship Between Geography, Climate And Economic...
1.Introduction
The purpose of the study is to establish and evaluate the relationship between geography, climate
and economic performance through individual income levels. This has been very vast area of
consideration in the academic community. Therefore, on the basis of extensive literature survey
and previous research analytics on similar disciplines, the scope of the present research would be
conducting a two stage econometric estimation, mainly regression to compute the relationship at
the municipal level income data per person across a computed set of geographical variables.
Geography and environment has a closer impact on socio economic development of a region.
Historical data has revealed that geography has some effect on shaping the economic history.
However, the amount of variance is an important consideration. Tropics are varied by broad
climatic zones and economies as well (Torres Mendez, 2000; 2002, Inter American Development
Bank, 2000). As a result, the research would identify the key geographical and climatic factors
from the national database and analyze its relationship with income per person longitudinal data
for a time period of 1950 to 2014. This paper will analyze this variance to test and interpret the
condition of multicollinearity using a regression analysis, as some geographical factors might be
highly correlated impacting the ultimate results.

Can we look forward to that kind of life or is it just a fantasy? As we study eschatology, Gods children can really look for this better life much better, compared to any kind of world s betterment. • 3. The Miracle Of Jesus Research Paper In Exodus 3:29, the Lord God called the nation of Israel a stiff necked people; thus considering Israel s obstinacy, and history of rejecting many of God s chosen, it becomes of no surprise that Israel would also reject Jesus. According to the New Testament Scriptures, Jesus performed many signs and wonders to authenticate being the Son of God and Israel s Messiah, however, and as recorded by the gospel writers Matthew and Mark (Matthew 12:22 37; Mark 3:20 30), Jesus miracle of casting a demon out of deaf and blind man was attributed to Beelzebub or Satan by the Pharisees (Pentecost, 1981). Hence, the miracle not only caused dismay amongst the Pharisees but the people who witnessed the miracle as well (Pentecost, 1981). Unfortunately, the people of Israel were taught through the law by the Pharisees that the sheep should follow the shepherd; therefore, the people of Israel were unwilling to accept Christ unless the Pharisees accepted Christ. Regrettably, the Pharisees as shepherds quickly convinced the sheep that the miracle performed in Matthew and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately for Israel, Jesus had other ideas about what constituted a relationship to the Messiah. Thus, in Matthew 12:46 50, it is recorded that Jesus rejected the idea of a blood relationship to the Messiah when Jesus refused to acknowledge the blood relationship that existed between Jesus and Jesus mother and brothers (Pentecost, 1981). Pointing to the disciples, Jesus Words indicated that any relationship to the Messiah must be spiritual and based on faith; furthermore, any relationship to the Messiah must also consist of wanting to do the Will of God (Pentecost, 1981). • 4. History Of Accounting And Private Sector Introduction Since the early 1980s public sector accounting and private sector accounting have experienced significant transformation such as decentralization, deregulation and the differences between thee two sectors are highly topical and political in many countries (Blondal 2003). The key transformation is the adoption of accrual basis of accounting rather than cash basis accounting by increasing number of countries (Guthrie and Ryan 1998). Meanwhile, public sectors refer specifically to organizations owned by government and private sectors refer to those organizations which are not government, owned and run by individuals and companies for profit oriented (Investopedia 2014). In this essay, there are several accounting issues to be discussed, include the development of sector neutrality, advantages and disadvantages of accrual basis accounting in public sector and meaningfulness of sector neutrality. Development of sector neutrality New Public Management is used to describe the institutionalization of private sector corporate models into the public sectors (Guthrie and Ryan 1998). In order to set a standards to private and public sectors, the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB) merged with the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) in 2000 (Ryan, Guthrie and Day 2007). After merging with PSASB, the new AASB made a decision regarding International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) adoption in 2002 but effective in 2005 (Ryan, Guthrie and Day ... • 5. The Demand Theory And Theories Of Corruption Theories of corruption generally fall under two classifications i.e. demand theories and supply theories. Demand theory models of corruption include two approaches: resource allocation models and the principal agent relationship models (Jain, 1998). Resource allocation models evaluate the costs of the allocation of resources to bribe seeking activities. The model is based on the principle that bribe seeking is one aspect of any economic activity and thus part of a firm s resources are devoted to this pursuit (Krueger, 1974). In a competitive system, bribe seeking chances are produced either by agents over government policy or by underlying societal features (Mauro, 1995). Principal agent models of corruption postulate that the misuse of power by individuals /organisations, which is driven by self interest (Shleifer Vishniv, 1993). The fundamental dilemma comes from that agents are entrusted with authority on behalf on the principal (citizens). In a democratic state, the elected officials and managers of ... Corruption is discussed in fields as diverse as economics, political science, anthropology, sociology, history, organization studies, international business, business ethics, psychology, and philosophy. These public officials are expected to possess professional integrity, and consequently uphold the public interest. Therefore, the public officials also contribute to good governance. • 6. Mexican American Family In The Mexican Family El cambio es algo bueno. That means change is a good thing and I have a proposal that involves change for families. I believe that Mexican families deserve a shot to live in America, even if they are illegal immigrants. The plan involves a way where a United States family and a family from Mexico can both benefit from each other. The three ways that a U.S. family and a Mexican family can benefit from each other are: sharing different foods, learning new languages, and learning new life skills. While these exchanges are going, the Mexican family earns free citizenship as well. This is a government funded program. The families will have to pay for their own food and housing, but the housing is supplied by the government for a low price. The housing fee pays for a limited, but reasonable, amount of water and electricity. No one likes to eat the same type of food every day. Mexican food is one of the most popular types of food eaten in the United States. The Mexican families that come over to get their citizenship can run Mexican restaurants during shifts throughout the day and night. The restaurants will be open 24 hours a day at places like hospitals, hotels, and colleges. They will make simple kinds of foods like: tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas. The food will be sold for a cheaper price than usual, but the quality of the food will still be well and enjoyable. This will be benefiting the Americans who need a quality lunch for cheap. This will also benefit the Mexicans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, he is not fluent in his native language, which is Spanish. According to Elijah, he does not speak Spanish at home or study it even though his parents speak the language. He could comprehend in Spanish but can only speak a little of the language. Most of the times, he responds to his mother in English. Elijah has one older sister who is married and lives in Georgia, where his family used to live before they moved to Florida, and a younger brother in Kindergarten. Elijah prefers addition problems over subtraction problems and can read almost as fluently as his native English speaking peers. He can comprehend, follow direction, and complete his assignments as well, but at a much slower rate than his peers. For example, in a phonic instruction, Elijah was very slow at proving the words given on the board. He continuously looked over at his peers whiteboard to see where they segmented the words into two syllables and which letters were identified as a vowel or which letters were marked as digraphs. On Tuesdays, Elijah s class goes to the computer lab for i Ready math. Students had headphones that they used to listen to the directions, but Elijah s headphones failed to work on one of those days. Summary Of Activation Of Mtorc1 In the paper Activation of mTORC1 is essential for ОІ adrenergic stimulation of adipose browning by Dianxin Liu et al, the authors sought to learn about the relationships between the opposing hormone regulating systems of adipocytes, Insulin and catecholamines, and their effects on the protein mTOR and its regulatory proteinRAPTOR. These interactions may lead to discoveries that can ultimately help us enhance energy expenditure and combat metabolic disease. Adipose tissue depots perform a wide range of functions in the human body and consists mainly of two varieties, white adipose tissue (WAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT). WAT stores extra caloric energy in the form of triglycerides, while BAT in direct contrast, rapidly converts oxidative energy into heat for survival in the cold. Insulin is the opposing metabolic regulator that antagonizes the action of catecholamines to stimulate lipolysis by activating phosphodiesterases that degrade cAMP and by using the protein kinase AKT to activate lipid synthesis pathways to promote energy ... Each session featured a different topic, such as relationships and friendship. Results of the study indicate that self esteem measures between testing were not significant, but several related concepts proved to be. Self efficacy attitudes did significantly improve after treatment and can be linked to positive self esteem. An explanation for their results is the possibility that the short duration of time could not change girls levels of self esteem. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Parents involvement in the process of building self esteem appeared to contribute to adolescents improved perceptions of how their parents view them. There are also multicultural considerations to have within the literature on adolescent self esteem. Berk (2007) considers culture as one of the greatest influences on a child s self esteem. Cultural values and traditions impact how an adolescent feels about themselves and their place in the world. Culture can be protective or it can present an adolescent with stress that may damage self esteem. Keeny and McEachern (2009) identify many multicultural challenges to self esteem. Some of these challenges include acculturation and discrimination. If an adolescent does not demonstrate behaviors valued by the culture in which they reside, their behaviors will prove to be potential challenges to their self esteem. This must be taken into consideration when reviewing the literature on these adolescent populations. In addition to being cautious about what language and vocabulary is used in self esteem research, researchers should clearly define what aspect of self esteem they are measuring. In a sample of adolescents ranging in age from 12 to 16 years old, Kenny and McEachern (2009) found that Hispanic adolescents scored higher than both African American and Caucasians on their self concept. • 12. Huckleberry Finn Flaws Huckleberry Finn: The Great America Novel When I was in 5th grade I first read Huckleberry Finn. Not the full version, mind you. It was of course censored to slaves and left out some very meticulous details but it still had that feel of racism, the stereotypes, and all the things that had been labeled controversial, now and then. But regardless of these flaws I kept reading, as it was the first novelthat I had read that really hooked me in and left me with a real sense of American pride. While the argument is that the plot is weak and has a unsatisfactory ending, I know for a fact it is one of the only endings to a novel that I will ever remember. The ending really brought together some previously left out details that Twain built up well in my opinion, and the final goodbye to the territory really left me as a reader feeling American pride. This American pride is also something that I will forever remember as it is not only a main focus, but is the biggest part of the argument for being the great American novel. It s sense of adventure and freedom left me and I m sure people with the feeling that anything was possible through freedom and adventure, the very things symbolized my America. So, really it s a no brainer for me. It would be an absolute travesty to remove Huckleberry Finn from our curriculum as it offers so much and portrays the real life that existed for African Americans during the 1840s. It has adventure, daring, morals, complex emotions, and most of all an overtone of American pride that can always be useful to younger generations that are still learning the term. According to the standards outlined by The International Institute of Refrigeration the chemical formula for carbon dioxide is CO2 and the refrigerant code for carbon dioxide is R744 [6]. CO2 gas is poisonous to living organisms when inhaled in a sufficiently concentrated form. The molecule of carbon dioxide consists of two oxygen atoms bonded to one carbon atom. It can be produced by the combustion of hydrocarbons, as the product of breathing of living people and animals and by fermentation [7]. • 19. Declaration Of Sentiments Rhetorical Analysis The opening paragraph of Elizabeth Cady Stanton s Declaration of Sentiments, which narrates, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary..., (Stanton 1), along with the title itself reveals a connection to Thomas Jefferson s Declaration of Independence. Elizabeth Cady Stanton wrote the declaration after being excluded from the World Anti Slavery convention, much like how the colonists were excluded from British Parliament. Declaration of Sentimentslists the grievances of women, which is another similarly to Jefferson s Declaration of Independence where he lists the grievances of the colonists. Stanton introduced her Declaration of Sentiments at the Seneca Falls Convention, which further conveys similarity to Jefferson s Declaration of Independence as his Declaration of Independence was introduced at the Second Continental Congress. Stanton, modeling her Declaration of Sentiments after Jefferson s Declaration of Independence, uses anaphora, the rhetorical triangle, allusions, personification, and harsh diction to achieve her effect of inspiring change to the benefit of women in society, similar to how Thomas Jefferson inspired change in the colonies through his Declaration of Independence. The Complex Nature Of The Nursing Profession In my relatively short tenure as a nurse I have come to understand and firmly believe that the nursing profession is widely misinterpreted and sometimes viewed by the public as a systematic, task driven, emotionally simplistic and withdrawn profession. When in reality the nursing profession s complex nature requires those involved to stay current, active and embracing a dynamic approach to their interactions. A dynamic nature is required in order to be successful in nursing, as adaptive change, high energy and a well rounded mindset are qualities that equate to effective care. The complex nature of interactions and health care as an encompassing system can prove to be challenging but yield effective adaptive results. As Kleffel states that nurses need an ecocentric view to successfully identify the multitude of interrelationships affecting effective care (as cited in Doane Varcoe, 2004, p. 50). That is that a nurse must approach a situation or interaction from a dynamic and comprehensive perspective. The many interrelationships that affect the seemingly simple interactions between nurse, patient and families are everything but simple, in fact, they are an intricate web of heterogeneous relational factors with a purpose of contributing and developing the current state of being. In order to produce healthier canines and to reduce the incidence of diseases commonly found in canines, it is important to understand what bone development is and how it occurs, factors that influence bonedevelopment, and developmental diseases. Development can be defined as a series of changes that takes place in an animal beginning in the embryonic state and lasting until maturity. These changes lead to a more complex organizational state of the body, starting with simple cellular organization and leading to formation of body systems. Ossification Mechanisms Intramembranous ossification and endochondral ossification are the types of bone development that occur during fetal development. Intramembranous ossification is the formation of flat bones (i.e, cranial bones). The first stage of this type of ossification is the formation of an ossification center in the fibrous connective tissue membrane. The ossification center is formed by mesenchymal cells differentiating into osteoblasts. The osteoblasts then secrete osteoid into the fibrous membrane and is subsequently mineralized. As the osteoid accumulates, it is laid down between fetal blood vessels, forming woven bone. The vascularized osteoid then condenses and forms the periosteum. Reinforcement means to strengthen, and is used in psychology to refer to anything stimulus which strengthens or increases the probability of a specific response. For example, if you want your child to do something more and more, you may give her a treat every time she does that. Thus the child will eventually know that if I do this, it will be followed by a treat and the more you praise her the more she repeats that. This might be cleaning the table after every meal that she takes and you give her praise or a tin of yoghurt for cleaning the table. Another example of reinforcement could be something happening at work when you know that a promotion comes after a hard work. This is done in different forms of reinforcements which are positive and negative reinforcement, punishment and extinction. There are also different reinforcement schedules which are fixed and variable ratios and fixed and variable intervals. All these are used in our day to day living when people are being rewarded or punished for different responses. This was done by BF Skinner through his experiments which gave him a result that any behaviour is followed by a consequence. Friedman ultimately believes that the government should stay out of economic affairs as much as possible, for every time the government acts the freedom of the people shrinks, and all government interventions have more costs then they do benefits. When the government regulates the way a business operates, for example, requiring steel plants to put filters on their smoke stacks, it increases the cost of doing business, which increases prices and decreases sales, production, jobs and wages. Capitalism, according to Friedman, has a way of efficiently working things out on its own, and needs very little government intervention. Many programs we have today, such as social security, Medicare, and welfare to name a few, Friedman would do away with, as they are the responsibility of the individual, not the government. The marketplace is even more proportional to public demand than the political system is, and will constantly cycle through different phases and work itself out without the need of government regulation. However, I also believe that our communication skills have declined. The internet was a new concept when I was younger, and the only way to reach a person was either by phone or a letter. Then came the creation of AOL instant messenger and email. This allowed people to speak with one another without the need to remember a telephone number or mailing address. These new tools also assisted in the introduction of a lackadaisical mentality during conversation. I specifically remember using a/s/l instead of typing out age, sex and location when I was in a chat room. We became accustomed to using abbreviated terms and the need for using proper punctuation or grammar was never frowned upon. Now my primary communicationtool is a text message since it is much faster than calling an acquaintance. Email is the primary tool I use when I need to formally communicate. I can be as formal as necessary while compiling my thoughts and proofread the message prior to sending it to the recipient. Every species interacts with its surroundings, whether it s within their populations, community, ecosystem, etc. In this lab, we will be comparing two different species and how they grow alone as well as together, in the same environment. More specifically, in this lab, we will be dealing with one of the most important ideas in ecology, the niche. Due to this concept, we can study the environmental circumstances the organism can handle, the essential resources it will need to survive, and how it will obtain these resources. Different species can hold similar niches, and the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The carrying capacity determines the population level of a species according to the limiting resources, Algae is one of the most diverse and interesting organisms on the planet. This is because there are over 10,000 unrelated species of organisms that contain chlorophyll and live in large bodies of water or moist land. Keeping a count of population size gives us a good indication of how certain species grow and interact with one another. By using two different species of Algae we can determine what types of interactions the two can encounter. The two species tested were Closterium and Micrasterias algae. We labeled them as species 1 and 2. The purpose of this lab is to determine whether the selected algae species will demonstrate competition or resource partitioning with the coexistence of each other versus alone. At the end of this lab we should be able to determine which species upheld the best under all of these circumstances. Methods: This lab was performed with two different types of algae, Micrasterias and Closterium. Within our groups, we counted how many of each species there were to begin with. Each group sampled one micro liter of each algae stock, five times, and then found the average of the five trials and converted it to milliliters. There were three different test tubes of algae stock containing 100 individuals. The first contained 100 Closterium, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a novelist and also a well known feminist, Charlotte Perkins Gilman fearlessly spoke up about her conception, freedom, in her masterpiece, The Yellow Wallpaper . She proposed big issue divorce around that time. In this semi autographical story, she describes her conflict of marital discord. Gilman intertwines her frustrations about a relationship with her husband and depicts the distress through many symbols, so that people should be aware what genuine happiness as a human being is. Through the relationship between Else and John, Gilman pointed out that females are given a disadvantage by their husbands. For example, she explains that John stands high because of his social status as a physician and a husband. Gilman illustrates this situation through the symbolism of the wallpaper; two breadth didn t match one is a little higher than the other (768). Another example is that Else is eager to live on the first floor because she can see the beautiful garden from the window, but John keeps her on the second floor even though they should move all the furniture from the first floor. Who is willing to carry all the heavy furniture such as a bed, a mattress, a dining table and chairs to upstairs only for three months? John s decision is quite unreasonable. • 42. Autism Spectrum Disorder Statistical evidences. ASD s gender proportion suggests that the autism is sex linked, and the statistical evidence convincingly shows that genetic factors are playing key role in the prevalence of ASD. To begin with, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published the relationship between the number of autistic boys and girls. The statistical evidence shows that boys are more inclined to become autistic than girls. CDC states that 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls were identified as having ASD. This observation shows that ASD is likely a sex linked inheritance. Sex liked inheritance is defined as a pattern of inheritance characteristic of genes located on the sex chromosomes of organisms having a chromosomal mechanism for sex determination (Sadava et al., 2014). If the ASD was sex linked inheritance, the ratio between male and female exhibiting the phenotype would result in 3 to 1 under the normal curve. The ratio between boy and girl is approximately 5 to 1, which shows that there is a strong association between sex linked inheritance and ASD. For this reason, it is reasonable to conclude that ASD is primarily influenced by the genetic factor, which is prenatal. On the other hand, some behavioral psychiatrists would argue that the conclusion is inaccurately determined, since the genetic mutation would not occur within a decade. As indicated in Appendix C: Table 1, the rate at which the number of ASD children increase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The development of normal rests on how human interfaced with the technology: partly on the new added or disappeared constraints; partly due to the different interactions in a totally new context. Design is refining the normal bit by bit so that the typefaces as well as other products are still fits in with people s life with the core of absence and familiarity and finally exceeds normal design to Super Normal design by the judgement of time. When Arial was released in 1982, it was seen as a copy of Helvetica of 1957. But if a user examines the characters in each typeface closely, the differences between them become apparent. Mark Simonson, an American graphic designer, produced an analysis of the two, which shows how much more refined Helvetica s detailing is than Arial s. The tail of the a is gently curved in Helvetica, as is the first connection of the bowl to the stem, but not in Arial. Similarly, the top of the t and the ends of the strokes in the C and S are perfectly horizontal in the former, but slightly angled in the latter. He also noted that the stem of Helvetica is more complex in the structure than those in Arial. The distinguishing details are so tiny that can be noticed when they are scrutinized magnified versions of each character as Simonson did. Yet it is these subtleties that constitute Helvetica a finer example of design than Arial for professionals. Thus, Descartes developed a method to get rid of those beliefs of which he could not be completely being confident in them. This process is called the Method of Doubt. It was hoped that the usage of the newer term open source would eliminate such ambiguity, and would also be easier to market to business users (who might mistakenly associate free software with anti commericalism). Since its introduction, however, the open source label has been criticized for fostering an ambiguity of a different kind: that of confusing it for mere availability of the source, rather than the freedom to use, modify, and redistribute it. One of the early defects of free software was the perceived inability to use it in for profit ventures. Whereas the Free Software movement thinks of the freedom of software s code to be available to all as an ethical and social imperative, open source treats it as a practical issue. Both GPL and open source licenses can be used in for profit ventures. Copylefted material must remain free for people to modify, but can be priced for people to buy. Some people may consider a person as their leader who is capable of taking them away from hardships or caring for them, or some people may consider a man steeped in wisdom and learning to be a leader. Difference notwithstanding, there still seems to be some commonality in all the perspectives behind the definition, which is related to choosing a best of the best person as their leader. The simple bottom line is that, nobody wants to have a person as his leader who doesn t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his people or who is not blessed with a certain temperament foe bearing hardships for his people, nor a vision for where they should be or how they should grow and influence the world around them. As the founder of tech startup, it is only natural for me to pick a leader who is a true technological visionary. The tentative list is where a country makes an inventory of all cultural and natural heritages within the site s boundaries. This tentative list may be submitted for inscription for the next five to ten years, and can be updated at any time. This step needs to take place before the World Heritage Committee can consider a site for inscription on the World Heritage. Schools are now the focus of an array of legislation which influences and impacts on the daily professional lives of teachers. Subsequently, teaching is becoming an increasingly complex profession. The most prominent legal concern expressed by teachers is their vulnerability to negligence claims, as they work with those, who in the process of enhancing their physical, intellectual and critical abilities, are more susceptible to injury. Negligence is defined as the omission to do something which a reasonable man...would do, or doing something which a prudent and reasonable man would not do. The general principle is that one should not harm those to whom they owe a duty of care, by act or omission. Action for negligence is grounded on the breach of a duty to exercise reasonable care. To be actionable, negligence must consist of four elements; a duty, breach of the duty, causation and injury. The test frequently applied by the courts is that of a reasonable person placed in the defendant s circumstances. Liability for negligence cannot arise until it has been established that the man who has been negligent owed some duty to the person who seeks to make him liable for his negligence.
