Product Evaluation Essay
Crafting a Product Evaluation Essay can be a challenging task that requires a unique blend of
analytical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in
presenting personal opinions but in substantiating them with concrete evidence and logical
reasoning.
To start with, one must thoroughly understand the product under evaluation, which might
involve extensive research and hands-on experience. Analyzing its features, functionality, and
overall impact is crucial. Additionally, assessing its market presence, user reviews, and
competitive positioning adds another layer of complexity.
The evaluative process demands a balanced perspective, avoiding biases and subjective
judgments. Striking a chord between highlighting the positive aspects and addressing the
shortcomings is delicate but necessary. It requires the writer to navigate through a sea of
information, identifying the most relevant details that contribute to a comprehensive evaluation.
Moreover, structuring the essay coherently is a formidable challenge. Ensuring a seamless flow
of ideas, from introducing the product to presenting the evaluation criteria and finally, drawing a
well-supported conclusion, demands careful planning and organization. Each section needs to
contribute to the overall argument, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of the
evaluation and grabs the reader's attention is no easy feat. The writer must strike a balance
between being informative and engaging, setting the tone for the entire essay.
In conclusion, writing a Product Evaluation Essay involves navigating through a complex web
of information, maintaining objectivity, and presenting a cohesive argument. It's a task that
requires a combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication.
However, with dedication and a systematic approach, one can overcome these challenges and
create a well-crafted and insightful essay.
If you find yourself struggling or pressed for time, it's worth considering external assistance.

Personal Reflection And Development Plan
Personal Reflection and Development Plan
Reflective practice has helped many people to improve their learning. It is a valuable
tool often used by healthcare and education providers to improve their approach to
work by questioning their actions. Throughout my short time spent in Higher
Education (HE) I have learned many new aspects of learning like different learning
styles and models of reflection and this provides me with an opportunity to look
back over these ideas and reflect. This will allow me to use these skills to my
advantage and develop myself with a development plan to continue my educational
understanding.
The word Reflection simply means careful thought about a particular subject (Collins
English Dictionary, 2013). It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jasper (2013) states that reflection allows us to learn for ourselves, rather than being
taught in a lesson or watching and mimicking an instructor s actions, instead we are
now able to look inwards and critique ourselves, at which point we can adapt our
future performance through personal knowledge of a subject. In a certain fashion, the
reflector now uses their understanding to become the teacher of themselves, allowing
proficient, skilled workers the ability to continuously develop (Rushton and Suter,
2012). Reflection can come naturally to some learners, meaning they would use it
often to help with their development, others can find it a taxing process and must put
in more mental effort to use it effectively (Jarvis, 1992).
Schon (1983) writes about two specific types of reflection used, reflection in action
and reflection on action . At many points in life reflection is undertaken whilst
performing an action, for instance, think of a jazz musician playing an instrument
with no sheet music, they are altering their performance in action to decide where to
take the music next. Reflecting whilst performing the action allows for improvisation
as they are adept at what they are
Comparing Yulia In Mrs. Bertha Flowers And The Ninny
Despite the time period differences, the short stories Mrs. Bertha Flowers and The
Ninny are similar because of the personalities and actions of the two main
characters, Marguerite and Yulia. These two characters are similar due to their
quiet and reserved personalities, their low self esteem, and how they both are
devalued in their societies. To begin, Marguerite and Yulia are quiet and reserved,
and this is demonstrated through the way they act. In Mrs. Bertha Flowers,
Marguerite refuses to often talk aloud following her traumatic experience of being
raped at the age of eight. Her sudden quiet and reserved behaviour is acknowledged
by Mrs. Bertha Flowers, as well as by Marguerite s grandmother and teachers. Yulia
shows she is quiet and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following this trauma, Marguerite is left to feel worthless because of how she
was stripped away of any semblance of power and confidence she may have once
had. Her lack of self esteem is in part caused by this event, as well as the fact that
she lives in a society which discriminates against her and her black community.
Yulia has low self esteem because she is degraded by multiple of her high class,
male employers. This is evident when Yulia speaks to her current employer about
how her previous bosses had refused to give her any pay, despite what they had
promised. Finally, Marguerite is devalued in her society because she is a young,
African American girl during the early 1900s. She is depreciated in her society
because black people are segregated from white people, and are not given equal
rights. White people in her society are favoured, whereas Marguerite and other
black people are treated as inferior. Yulia is devalued by her society because she is a
poorly educated, lower class female in late 19th century Russia. Her society is
strongly represented as being sexist and classist, so she is deemed less valuable than
her male, higher class
Fall Of Disco
The Rise and Fall of Disco
The birth of Disco had a huge influence on the American culture in the 1970s. It
reached far beyond music and into fashion, club culture, and film. Disco was
created in Philadelphia and New York City in the late 1960s and early 1970s,
formed by people in reaction to the popularity of rock music and the lack of
progress of dance music in the late 60s. First heard in nightclubs for many minority
groups including Italians, Latinos, blacks, gays, and hippies, it was embraced by
women, as well as men, and many female entertainers came into fame because of
disco music.
The enthusiastic dance moves and vivacious sound of Disco gave young people a
reprieve from what movie critic Roger Ebert called the general depression ... Show

The disco style was steadily swapped out with Punk Rock anti fashion. The disco
look was considered too dramatic and out of touch with the day s politics. Anti
disco bitterness grew among rock fans who started displaying anti disco slogans on
their t shirts. Rock supporters were rebelling against disco and called rockers like
Rod Stewart and David Bowie sell outs for producing disco music. Rockers thought
disco music was shallow and useless, while their music was often political and
radical. A publicity stunt on July 12, 1979 by the Chicago White Sox association had
fans bring disco albums to destroy between games. It eventually culminated in a riot
known as Disco Demolition
Themes Of Oppression In Crown Of Midnight By Sarah J
Maas
Celaena heard it now as if for the first time, the story of a Fae blessed with a
horrible, profound power that was sought by kings and lords in every kingdom.
While they used her to win wars and conquer nations, they all feared her―and kept
their distance (118). Sarah J Maas is an American Author best recognized for her
Throne of Glass series. Its second installment, Crown of Midnight, follows Celaena
as she spars with her loyalty. One grievous night forces her to choose allies and foes.
To emphasize the focal idea, Maas utilizes themes of rebellion, oppression, and death.
First and foremost, a crucial theme embedded is rebellion. The King of Adarlan is
recognized as a megalomaniac, from his own son to the prisoners in Callaculla. He is
on a quest to conquer all of Erilea. But in order to do so, he is in need of somebody
to do all of his dirty work, and that is when Celaena comes into the light. Her task is
to kill the King s enemies. Conversely, she disobeys direct orders. I haven t killed
any of the people the king commanded me to assassinate (184). When she consults
it with her friend Chaol, he is livid. If the king finds out, he will force Chaol to kill
Celaena as punishment for being her friend. Chaol attempts to talk sense into
Celaena by calling those men traitors to the crown. She scoffs, Traitors. For
refusing to grovel before a conqueror? For sheltering escaped slaves trying to get
home? For daring to believe in a world that s better than this gods forsaken
Judith Butler What s Wrong With All Lives Matter
Many people would assume that every person is treated as an equal. However, it is
very clear that not all lives are treated equal, even if they are technically considered
to be. It s impossible to ignore the fact that African American people have been
treated as lesser human beings. The interview conducted with Judith Butler titled
What s Wrong With All Lives Matter, addressed the ongoing issue between the
equality between a black and white individual White privilege plays a big role in
why we continue to struggle with the issue of racism. The word racism will always
leave a mark on our world, because no matter how hard our society tries to rid
ourselves of it, there will always be racism somewhere, poisoning the surrounding
people. During the interview, Butler states that it is true that all lives matter, but it
is equally true that not all lives are understood to matter which is precisely why it is
most important to name the lives that have not mattered, and are struggling to matter
in the way they deserve. Initially, this quote angered me in the sense that I believed
everyone is treated equal and it is unfair to make that statement. It is possible that
others had a similar reaction as the one I did. However, Butler expresses this thought
because if you truly sit down to think about it, there are people of color still being...

Physicalist Dualism
The mind is a nonphysical thing and the body is a physical thing. The mind body
problem says that nonphysical things cannot interact casually with physical things,
but states that the mind and body interact casually. There are three theories that have
different ways of explaining how the mind and body do interact casually. Dualismis
the theory that the mindand body are sperate things and they can interact casually.
This theory says that nonphysical things can interact with physical things.
Physicalism is the theory that humans can be adequately explained by physical or
material components. This theory says that the mind is a physical thing instead of
nonphysical. Functionalism is the theory that the mind is categorized by patterns of
input processing output. This theory rejects the mind body problem. It says that the
mind is like a computer, there is an input of information or experiences, the
information is processed, and then you have an output of a response. Out of these
three theories, Physicalism makes the most sense. Physicalism says that the mind is a
physical thing, therefore it does not matter that nonphysical things cannot interact
casually with physical things. Physicalism is very easy to explain. It does not have

consciousness and cannot explain it yet. Physicalist suggest that neurons interact

about the brain, and how it functions, then we did in the 19th century. Scientist can
watch brain activity of a person by attaching wires to their head. They know what
the person is thinking of by the region of the brain it is in and the brain waves being

Sporting Mega Analysis
The sporting mega events that were chosen for our analysis was the Summer and
Winter Olympics, the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games. These 3 events
are the largest mega events in the world, and are excellent representations of
sporting mega events as a whole. We wanted to go as far back as our data indexes
allowed us to go, which was the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, so we made
that our starting point. Our goal was to look at all of the bids made for the mega
events, and look at a selection of variables influence on their chances of winning.
We used data from the year the countries hosted the events (excluding the data used
for future events) in order to go as far back as the indexes would allow us. All

For every observation for events that have not yet occurred such as future
Olympics and World Cup s that has finished the bidding process and selected a
host, we had to extrapolate the data from 2016 the best we could. Additionally, for
the Freedom of Press ranking, it only went back to 2002, so we had to use the data
for 2002 in order to fill in the events that occurred from 1996 2001. Both of these
could affect the legitimacy of this study in the future, but for all extrapolations we
doubt they will be that much different from our figures.
Independent variables and the tendencies in their descriptive statistics were examined
first. Then, we performed a binary logistic regression to assess the combined effects
of the independent variables on bid success, and determine what factors are
ultimately the most influential on mega event bidding success. We decided to split
the descriptive statistics and logistic regression to two separate time periods using
the year 2008 as our

Jim Crow Room-Show Reflection
Last week, I went to the Carrie Meek Black Archives for the second time since
2015. While I was there I visited the Jim Crow room/exhibition, formerly known as
the Komics, Koon, and Klan room. The room/exhibit had pretty much the same
artifacts from the last time I visited in 2015, but I did notice that they had a new
section for Rare Klu Klux Klan Memorabilia. When I observed this section, many
things stood out from the KKK uniforms all the way to the lynching ropes. The one
thing that I observed that really made me angry was the KKK sword that they had
in the center of the showcase shelf. It was made in California in 1866. The KKK
sword found in the KKK memorabilia section made me upset and sent chills down
my spine. Mainly because the

of professions include nursing, architecture, medicine and engineering.

For Wasserstrom, the lawyer client relationship is morally objectionable because it is
a relationship which the lawyer dominates allowing inevitably for a situation where
the lawyer treats the client in both an impersonal and a paternalistic fashion. He sees
the lawyer as a professional, one that is different from other professionals. He sees
this profession to be more vulnerable to moral criticism than any other.
In the Watergate affair, it was noted that most of the persons involved in the cover
up were lawyers. Wasserstrom proposes that it is not an accident, the fact that most
of the characters involved belonged to the legal profession; the fact is, lawyers see
society through the eyes of one who understands the labyrinth of legalities which
made it rather easy for them to manipulate the affair and do what they have done. For
him, this was a good example of noting the intricacies of the lawyering profession,
particularly professionalism.
Wasserstrom holds that the core of the problem is professionalism and its role
differentiated behavior. Role differentiation refers to situations in which one s moral
response will vary depending upon whether one is acting in a personal capacity or
in a professional, representative one. In one of his examples, he illustrates that the
way a parent would distribute assets among children who are strangers would be
morally different if it was being distributed among children whom they have reared

Reflection Paper On Child Work
My field placement is employment based through The New York City
Administration for Children s Services (ACS). ACS is a governmental agency that
protects and promotes safety and well being of New York City s children and
families by providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care and education
services ( ACS About, n.d.). The mission of the Administration for Children s
Services (ACS), Division of Child Protection (DCP), is to protect all children who
are being abused or neglected in the City of New York, and to ensure that the
appropriate services are provided to protect children and strengthen families
(Casework Practice Guide, 2001). During my internship, I had the opportunity of
working with several clients from various parts of New York City and from
different races and ethnic backgrounds. In this paper, I will focus on one specific
client I had the opportunity of working with in attempt to show how I incorporated
my assessment skills. Presenting Problem Biological parent Carlos and Isabel
brought their 16 year old daughter Cindy to the agency to obtain assistance to
address her behavior. The parents reported that Cindy has missed 5 months of
school and is doing poorly academically. The parents reported that the child leaves
home every morning to attend school; however she does not go to school. The
parents reported that they are not aware of Cindy s whereabouts when she is not at
school. The father reported that he is concerned that the child may be involved
with the 24 year old man she dated in the past. Cindy admitted to missing five
months of school and dating a 24 year old man in the past, however she denies
being in a current relationship. Cindy reported that she does not attend school
because she gets nervous and dizzy when she attends school. The child further
reported that during school hours she will walk around on the street, go to the
library and the museum. History of Presenting Problem The parents reported that
in October of 2016 the child was absconding from school. Mr. Carlos reported that a
PINS warrant was also filed in 2016 because Cindy was missing for approximately
two months. Mr. Carlos reported that Cindy was residing with a 24 old man who she

On The Road Character Analysis
In Jack Kerouac s novel On the Road, the main character, Sal, battles with his white
identity. He spends most of his time on the road, traveling long distances across the
United States and back and meeting different people from various backgrounds
during his road trips. Throughout the course of his novel, he frequently takes on
other forms of identities and appears to detach himself away from not only his own
character, but from his own hometown and upbringing. At the end of Part Two, Sal
has decided to leave Dean behind in North Carolina. (Kerouac, 180) At the end of
the chapter, he had realized that coming to Frisco with Dean made him feel
unaccomplished and unsatisfied, and he then decides to embark on a trip to
Denver on his own. (Kerouac, 180) He tells us here: At lilac evening I walked with
every muscle aching among the lights of 27th and Welton in the Denver colored
section, wishing I were a Negro, feeling that the best the white world had offered
was not enough ecstasy for me, not enough life, joy, kicks, darkness, music, not
enough night... I wished I were a Denver Mexican, or even a poor overworked Jap,
anything but what I was so drearily, a white man disillusioned... (Kerouac, 181 182)
It is clear to us that Sal is unsatisfied with his life from the beginning, itching to try
out new environments far from home. However, as he goes across the country either
with Dean or on his own he realizes how unhappy he is. He desires to be another
person, with another person,

Indeed, physical and fitness characteristics of elite athletes are different among
various sports and certain body types may be advantageous for championship
performances (Arazi, Faraji, Mohammadi, 2011). Physical, physiological and
psychological profiles have been developed by so many researchers to describe the
qualities and characteristics of elite athletes in their respective sports. Evidence
indicates that many factors as different physical, physiological and anthropometric
factors might influence the gymnast s performance (Cagnoa et al., 2009). Artistic

Persuasive Essay On Snapchat
In this paper I am going to be discussing the use of snapchat in my life and its
policies. Snapchat as an app is very widely used and was created in 2011. With its
ability to have messages in picture form that disappeared quickly, it was and still is
very appealing; especially to adolescents such as myself. The thing I find so many
people fail to look past with this app is its privacypolicies and how much information
they are giving to snapchat. One of my major focuses will be on the surveillance
tactics used by Snapchat.
First it was just photos, then screenshots, then face recognition came, and now most
recently something called snapchat maps. The amount of content and personal
details Snapchat has collected of our lives is astounding; however, everyone looks
past it. Snapchatting is a different a fun way to communicate, which is why it is so
popular and what encourages people to look past all that we give them. Snapchat
currently has 173 million users, which just shows how much access to people
everywhere around the world. It knows our name, location, birthday, email, phone
number, and even more than we can imagine. Until doing this project I was one of
these people, blinded by how much I was truly giving away about myself, but now
after looking through their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, I truly have learnt a
great deal.
One of the first things I came across that was most intriguing to me is all the
information they take from your phone alone. They have
Milton and Classical Predecessors
As shown in studies by researchers including Wilmon Brewer, the similarities
between the works of Milton and his classical predecessors, such as Athenian bards
Aeschylus and Sophocles, strongly suggest their inspiration upon his work. However,
this doesn t necessarily mean that Milton blatantly passed off the works of his
influences as his own; his ingenuity manifests in the form of updated storylines and
personalities for the characters in his epic poems, namely those in Samson Agonistes
and Paradise Lost, both based upon stories in the Bible. With that in mind, he
appointed exemplars from Scripture to his tragic masterpieces as they demonstrate
the outcomes of sin: Satan, Adam, and Eve in Paradise Lost, and Samson in Samson
Agonistes. Brewer states that Milton praised Aeschylus Prometheus Bound, noting
To the work of Aeschylus Milton refers four times in passages of criticism. The
references become more and more inclusive and increasingly favorable (910).
Indeed, Milton applauds his Athenian influences in the preface of Agonistes, calling
them unequalled yet by any, and the best to rule all who endeavor to write tragedy
(qtd. in Brewer 911). Brewer interprets this as holding the Athenians in higher regard
over Shakespeare, whom Milton also admired. He suggests Aeschylus trilogy on the
death of Agamemnon prompted Milton s admiration for drama portraying human
suffering. As the subject of the popular saying, pride comes before the fall, Satan s
arrogance is
The Invention Essay
So You ve Just Come Up With A Million Dollar Idea Now What?
While there is no set formula on how a would be inventor can take their great idea
from mind to manufacturing, there are some things they must be aware of and
some steps they simply must take as they move forward. If you think you have one
of those great ideas, set aside all celebrations for the time being and start taking real
action toward making the idea a productive and profitable reality. Be warned, though:
this isn t going to be easy.
1. Ask Yourself Some Serious Questions

When talking to potential partners, you re likely to get more valuable feedback on
setting up a company, manufacturing, distribution and other important elements of a
startup.
A second (third, fourth and beyond) opinion should provide you with affirmation that
your idea has value, beyond what you ve imagined thus far. These outside opinions
help you to chisel your idea into something with real world applicability. Also, be
prepared for the naysayers, who, although discouraging at first, can also give you
useful information.
3. Analyze Development And Production Costs
It s one thing to create a homemade prototype, quite another to put it into real
production. How much is it going to cost to perfect your prototype enough to
actually manufacture it? How much will it cost to produce each unit and who can
handle that for you? Ideas are typically modified in the development stage, meaning
your original idea may evolve into something different or even spawn two or more
spinoff ideas, equally valuable and worth pursuing.
Although the technical aspects of bringing an invention to the production stage are
tedious and challenging, this is a crucial stage for you and will determine the
economic feasibility of moving forward. You need to figure out who you can trust,
where your startup capital is going to come from and whether or not you should form
some type of company now. Depending on your educational level
Aristotelian Tragedy Macbeth Essays
Aristotelian Tragedy: Macbeth Aristotle is known widely for developing his ideas
on tragedy. He recorded these ideas in his Poetics in which he comments on the plot,
purpose, and effect that a true tragedy must have. The structure of these tragedies has
been an example for many writers including Shakespeare himself. Many of
Shakespeare s plays follow Aristotelian ideas of tragedy, for instance Macbethdoes a
decent job in shadowing Aristotle s model. Aristotle describes one of the most
important elements of a tragedy to be a tragic hero. The tragic hero however must
present certain qualities such as nobility and virtue. In the play Macbeth, Macbeth is
a perfect example of a tragic hero. Macbeth begins the play coming home from battle,

However, Macbeth does not go unpunished as he suffers countless dreams and
illusions that drive him to insanity. The loss of his wife also brings Macbeth to his
final denouement. In the end, Macbeth is killed by Macduff; because of his
arrogance he believed he was invincible even after being told his fate. Macbeth
reaches his end through the same way he lived his life, through murder and
deception. Many argue over the fairness of Macbeth s life, but the goal of a
tragedy in Aristotle s view point is to strike fear and pity in the audience through
harsh punishment upon the hero in extreme ways. Finally, Aristotle claims that in
order for a tragedy to be effective, the fear and pity must be released from the
audience through catharsis. First the tragic hero must gain some knowledge from
his tragic life. Macbeth shows this self realization in his yellow leaf soliloquy
when he expresses remorse for his actions. Also, in the end he knows he must fight
until the end whether his fate is death. At this point the audience is cleansed of the
emotions of the plot and the tragedy is finished. Macbeth is a primary example of a
typical Aristotelian tragedy. It follows the structure necessary from the tragic hero,
to his downfall and ultimately to the catharsis necessary for an original Greek
drama. The aspects of this play are a perfect example of the tragedies of that

Pygmy Sloth Research Paper
During my travels, I took a trip to Costa Rica to enjoy the beaches, the views, the
surfing, as well as to see my favorite animals, sloths. I found myself exploring the
Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica whose mission is to place focus on the rescue,
rehabilitation, release and research of sloths and conserving the Costa Rican
rainforest. Many of the sloths in the sanctuary were recovering from wounds due to
human interference. While sloths have evolved over 64 million years making them
perfectly designed for a quiet life in the rainforest, humans are encroaching on sloth
homes much faster than our lazy friends can adapt. Unfortunately, due to the increase
in habitat destruction over recent years sloths are at a higher risk for extinction.

sloths are at an increase risk of endangerment. Due to the fact that this species of
sloth can only be found on the Isla Escudo de Verguas it is imperative that the
government of Panama recognizes the endangerment of the pygmy sloth and places
more security on the island. The fate of the pygmy sloth depends largely on whether
or not additional steps are taken to protect Escudo de Veraguas. The island s current

to who may develop it. Declaring the island a wildlife refuge or national park would

A similar conservation legislation has been successfully enacted in the past by the

Complexity is measured with different product, technological and organizational
variables. Complexity can be either detailed or dynamic. Detailed complexity can be
measured by the number of components while dynamic complexity is referred to as
the interconnectedness and unpredictability of the system.

Compare And Contrast Civil War And North West Rebellion
The North West Rebellions and the American civil war were both rebellions that
occurred in the second half of the 19th century. Although both rebellions were vastly
different in their size, timescale and scope, they all had the basic premise of
rebellions to preserve the status quo, where peoples wished to maintain their previous
rights, privileges and power from a central government. The North West Rebellion
was a 5 month long insurgency in what is now Saskatchewan, in early 1885. The
insurgency was fought by First Nations and MГ©tis militants against the Canadian
government, and had a lasting impact on the development of the Canadian west and
the future of First Nations and MГ©tis peoples. The North West Rebellion had its

Both rebellions tell the same narrative, a group of peoples (such as the MГ©tis or the
Southern landowners) who wished to maintain their previous economic and political
power in a country that was rapidly changing due to the vast socioeconomic upheaval
that was the industrial revolution. Both groups felt that the central government was
taking away their political rights and marginalizing them from government;
moreover, both attempted to preserve their own institutions that they felt the central
government was attempting to take away from them, such as language and cultural
rights or slavery and southern institutions. In the end, the only way they felt they
could maintain the status quo was by taking up arms against a central government.
All attempts of negotiation between the government and the rebels broke down, and a
state of war prevailed until eventually, the central government won over due to their
superior resources, industries and manpower. The rebellion, ultimately unsuccessful,
ended in the complete abolishment of all the rights that they had fought for and
instead prompted the government to further tighten control over these rebelled
peoples. In the end, both the rebellion and the peoples that rebelled were crushed and
their social, economic and political power was ended, with laws such as the scrip

Marlene Dietrich And Gender Stereotypes
A prestigious Marlene Dietrich once exclaimed to the world, glamour is what I sell,
it s my stock in trade. Dubbed the title, the best dressed man in Hollywood, Dietrich
challenged social norms and traditional moralities, frequently dressing in men s suits,
tuxedos, and top hats. Coming from abroad to the City of Angels, Hollywood
embraced Dietrich as an exotic and provocative, but charming European celebrity.
Throughout her years of fame, she utterly captivated the world with her legendary
films, becoming the highest paid actress of her time. Known for her beauty and
allure, Marlene Dietrich became not only a cultural symbol, but a global icon,

Marlene became proficient in music, playing the violin and piano throughout her
childhood. After an accident to her hand that left her unable to play, she discovered
the brilliance of the stage, and deemed it to be her calling. She performed in many

Reflection Between Art And Art
Areas of knowledge are specific branches of knowledge, each of which can be seen
to have a distinct nature and requires different ways of knowing. Description is a
written or spoken account of a person, object or event and thus, relies on our
perception of the world. Transformation is a change that goes beyond a norm or a
paradigm. In order for something to be considered knowledge, it needs to go through
both the process of description and transformation. Due to their approach to
acquisition of knowledge, certain areas of knowledge such as Art puts more
emphasis in describing the world while others focus more on transforming it. All
areas of knowledge, including Art, still have both functions of describing and
transforming the world and there is no area of knowledge that... Show more content

Classical paintings revolutionized the techniques artists use to create paintings and
how they look at paintings, therefore proving that art also transforms the world. Some
of the artists who learnt about Classical techniques and tried to imitate them (at first)

viewers to rethink assumptions about the human form. This shows that creativity and

Two Gallants Essay
Two Gallants A short story by James Joyce published in his 1914 collection
Dubliners. Two men, Lenehan and Corley, are walking the streets of central Dublin
on a Sunday evening. Corley dominates the conversation telling Lenehan about a
girl he has recently seduced, a maid who works for a wealthy family. He brags
about how the girl supplies him with cigars and cigarettes, which she steals from the
family. Corley considers his relationship with this girl superior compared to when he
used to ask women out and spend money on them. The two men have arranged a
meeting with the maid, where the aim is to convince the maid to bring them money,
stolen from her employees. Corley has a date with the girl later that evening, and

Joyce describes Corley as squat and ruddy and with a large, globular and oily head
not exactly how one imagine a gallant. Furthermore he seems rude and selfish,
because of his constant bragging and his behaviour towards the girl and Lenehan.
Lenahan on the other hand is described as a leech but a bit more self reflective than
Corley. Based on his expectations towards others, it would seem as if he has been
let down several times, for instance in the end where Corley hasn t arrived at the
appointed hour, Lenehan instantly assume, that Corley has cut him out of the plan.
Similarly, Corley only allows Lenehan a distant glimpse of the girl, for the fear of
competition. The two gallants both have a constant of being betrayed. The title is
obviously ironic, considered the two men s behaviour during the short story. The
two men are anything but gallant and fine men. Instead they exploit the young
woman. Corley has seduced her into giving both her body and some cash in
exchange for nothing but a lie. Corley hasn t even revealed his name for the girl.
Neither of the two gallants have a decent job, or the opportunity for advancement.
They both live a dissolute life, constantly searching for easy women and money. They
don t have any ambitions. When Lenehan sits in the bar and imagines an alternative
to his current lifestyle, his vision is to settle down in some smug and live happily

A platform bed is a study in minimalism, sometimes without a headboard or

The And Its Effects On The Populations
Honeybees are important pollinator in the ecosystem, which provide pollination to

However the colonies of the honeybees are affected by a syndrome, which causes
the population of honey bee decrease rapidly in winter. Honey bee undergoes a

cause for CCD is still undetermined, but the predictive causes of the syndrome are
pathogens, parasites, management stressors, and environment stressors. It begins
from 2006 that the beekeepers reported losses of 30 90 percent of their bees. To
prevent the further lost of honeybee in the United States, ARS and the National

Home Mothers And Working Mothers
Participants:
The participants included two working mothers and two stay at home mothers within
the ages of 20 35. All the participants I found were close friends or acquaintances but
the hardest part was to find stay at home mothers. The method used for my research
was interview questions. I asked five questions for each mother, two separate sets of
questions for stay at home mothers and working mothers. The first participant was a
thirty two year old, full time working mother who is also currently enrolled at
Sacramento State has three children. The second participant was a twenty two year
old, who is a full time mother working at a dental office in Stockton, CA. She is a
long time friend who has a three year old boy. The third participant a twenty six
year old, is a stay at home mother with two boys, ages three and four. My last
participant was my sister s best friend, a stay at home mother, but also a part time
student with two boys, a ten year old and a five year old. Three of the mothers that I
interviewed were single with only one that has a husband.
Findings:
Some of the major findings about stay at home mothers were that there weren t very
many to interview. The majority of the people that I socialize with are either part time
mothers or full time working mothers. For my research I decided to choose two stay
at home mothers that had no part time job. I also found that stay at home mothers
main motivation is their children, staying home with their children gave

Theories Of Labelling Theory
What is labelling theory?
Labelling theory is they theory of how self identity and behavior of individuals may
be determined or influenced by the terms used to describe or classify them. It is
associated with the concepts of self fulfilling the prophecy and stereotyping. This
theory is coming associated with the sociology of criminal and deviance, where it is
used to point out how social processes of labelling and treating someone as
criminally deviant fosters deviant behavior, which then can lead to negative
repercussions for that person due to other people within the society being biased
against people being labelled a deviant (C N Trueman, 2016).
What is the implication for the criminal justice policy?
The implications of labelling theory are that the key idea is that not everyone who
commits an offence is punished for it, if a person has been punished for their
convictions all truly depends on whether, their interactions with agencies of social
control such as the police and the courts, their appearance, background and
personal biography and the situation and circumstance of the offence they had
committed (Cole, 2017). A lot of agencies of social control have shown that they
are likely to label certain groups of people as deviants or a criminal due to either
their skin color, neighborhood s and other circumstance that seem not in the norm or
to what they believe is socially safe. This can lead social control groups such as the
police to seem biased and prejudice. The
How Does Orwell Show Snowball s Loss In Animal Farm
In Animal Farm, George Orwell represents the loss of loved ones to demonstrate
the cons and hardships of communism. He does this by showing how Snowball,
Boxer, and the other animals get hurt or even killed because of communism s iron
grip. I am going to explain to you why and how he does this.
The first loss the animals experience is the running off of snowball, snowball has
done nothing but show valor and commitment to the cause of animal farm, and he
is rewarded by being run off like a leper and outcasted. He took part in writing the
original 7 commandments and the animals are easily convinced that he is a traitor

He s simple, kind, and hard working, he is the main role model on the farm for the
other animals. He is the ONLY reason the windmill got built, three times! His heart
is bigger than any muscle on his tremendous body. As you said, we as readers begin
to attach ourselves to the characters we like the most, for most of us reading, it was
boxer. As we get more and more attached to Boxer, George Orwell shows him suffer
more and more as communism sets in and overtakes the farm. He starts off, just
working a little harder and getting up only 20 minutes early than the rest of the
farm, before his passing, he is rising a whole hour before and staying up hours later
than the other animals. We get so drawn to his passion for the farm and working
hard towards the windmill because these are noble and just actions. George Orwell
then has him finally collapse from overworking and later the exterminators show up
to seal the deal on his passing away. This loss of Boxer shows us how communism
can affect those we love by hurting them, taking them away from us and using all of
their time, or even killing

Analysis Of The Film Green Lantern
As one can imagine, being trapped out in the ocean, hundreds of feet from any
kind of safety while an enormous shark is circling you, has to be the most
frightening experience one can endure. Nancy, a young medical student ventures
out to a secluded beach in Mexico to enjoy some time surfing, but little does she
know how close to death she will come. The suspense that builds up as Nancy
struggles to escape her predator throughout the film is what keeps the viewers on
their toes, as the entire movie revolves around her plan to make it back to shore.
This being the plot, can seem dull and uninteresting at first, but as the film
progresses, it s hard to take your eyes off the screen. The acting of Blake Lively, who
plays Nancy, helps to make the film even better, as many people know her from her
other acting rolls, such as Sarena van der Woodsen from the hit television show
Gossip Girl and Carol Ferris from the film Green Lantern . The director of the film,
Jaume Collet Serra, is known for creating movies with an extensive amount of
suspense. He is able to get an incredible performance from actors, as well as
understand all of the scenes from the perspective of the viewers, thus giving him the
ability to know exactly what needs to take place to keep the film interesting.
Because Blake Lively is in every scene, it is obvious that the film is customized to
her and her acting skills. She portrays a protagonist who most overcome her fear and
gain strength throughout the course

p333). A needs assessment or analysis would be helpful for trainers to evaluate
cultural dimensions and the characteristics of their employees whether it be
language barriers, cultural status (Noe, Raymond, 2002, p334). By identifying the
needs of cultural and ethnic minorities, trainers will be able to properly train and
develop this minority to group to not only suit the individual themself but also the
company. Gender diversity in the workforce is another issue trainers must address.
Women are increasingly entering the workplace at rapid speeds and due to their
responsibility for home and family matters, employers and HR managers must
provide flexibility and solutions through training and developing. Many women in
the workforce have to juggle motherhood and try to manage a career and work life at
the same time and studies have shown that the strain is beginning to take its toll on
the general health and wellbeing of the female population (Robinson, Deborah, 2008,
p1). Women need to be mentored by trainers to step up at take more senior positions

Beethoven, Symphony No. 9
Beethoven, Symphony No. 9
Ludwig Beethoven was not only one of the greatest composer musician ever born
he is a wonderful study tool for me during exam week. My faithful study partner was
born in a small town, Bonn, Germany on December 16, 1770 to a family of
professional musicians. Beethoven learned violin and some other instruments from
his father. His father wanted him to be perfect in music, and in that endeavor he
violently scolded Beethoven whenever he made any kind of mistake during practice.
Even, according to one story, due to the punishments given by his father, Beethoven
suffered from hearing problems in future, which basically ruined his life. (NP)

It was a road block for the musical genius and it became nearly impossible for him
to perform again. Beethoven stopped creating new composition; he obviously was
very disappointed and became constantly more frustrated. It had been said that he
even wrote letters to his brothers telling them how he felt like it was an end of his
life. During this period when Beethoven had almost stopped working on music
creation, he was living off funds from his earlier compositions, and symphonies.
Those funds soon proved to be no enough to support Beethoven, and he feel deeper
and deeper into an economic slump.
Tragically on March 26, 1827, due to his dimensioning health, and lack of funds to
provide care, Ludwig Van Beethoven, the great musical genius ever to walk this earth,
died.
Even though one may think his life was cut off way to short, he left countless
amazing works to remember him by. One of his pieces I will be exploring today was
my personal favorite, Beethoven Symphony No. 9.
Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 Choral is the last complete symphony
composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. (Wikipedia) Completed in 1824, the choral
Ninth Symphony is one of the best known works of the Western repertoire,
considered both an icon and a fore father of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven s
greatest masterpieces not to mention a spectacular work to listen too while studying
for exams! Symphony No. 9 incorporates

Assumption.1 According to the authors of the article they have quoted an assumption
that for a new entrant it is important to have a pre entry experience to determine its
performance.
Evidence by the author
To back up the assumption made by the authors, they have provided with evidence
which states that according to M. Ganco in 2009 it is important to have a pre
industry experience before entering a new industry and also according to Dimov and
Martin in 2004 and 2010 both breadth and depth of experience contributed to the
likelihood that firms made first round entries.
Challenging the assumption
The authors have made a significantly true assumption above to what I completely
agree with. Importance of pre industry experience was first analyzed in 1982 by
Gort and Klepper who also says that a new entrant who has prior experience of the
industry will be able to survive the challenges of the new industry and also the
heterogeneity of the previous and new firm is equally important. By stating the above
evidence I completely stand with the assumption made by the authors.
Assumption.2 According to the authors the brand flag on a franchised firm will be an
indication of the product quality for the potential customers.
Evidence by the author
To support the assumption made by the authors, they say that according to a study by

Carolus Linnaeus s Influence On The Field Of Biology
The famous, Swedish science historian Sten Lindroth once said that God creates,
Linnaeus orders , which is a perfect example of how ground breaking and respected
Carolus Linnaeus works, ideas, publishings and findings were at the time (Lindroth).
Carolus Linnaeus, a.k.a. the father of taxonomy, was a Swedish botanist who was the
first to person to successfully set the frame for characterising and naming organisms.
Carolus Linnaeus impacted the field of biology in a positive way through his
classification of organisms sexually, publishing many important biological works,
papers, and books, and the creation of binomial nomenclature.
In the 18th century, Swedish Botanist Carolus Linnaeus arranged plants into orders
of groups according to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The specific epithet names, also known as trivial names, were usually Latin
adjectives that were linked to diagnoses, description, information, and references (
Carolus Linnaeus ). One of the main advantages of his system was that these
names were linked to diagnoses, description, information, and references, and
allowed many similarities to be found between similar organisms. Another reason
his work was considered such a landmark work was that it was the first ever
accurate nomenclatural system and due to its descriptiveness, accuracy and
shortness compared to earlier systems it won widespread praise and acceptance
(Mertz pg 169). This system would eventually be known as Binomial
Nomenclature and would official cement Carolus Linnaeus as one of the Greatest
Botanist Ever because it allowed scientists to identify plants and organisms more
accurately ( Carolus Linnaeus ). It also allowed for greater advancement in
biological naming and knowledge and allowed for thousands of new and
unidentified organisms to be named accurately and related to similar organisms (
Carolus Linnaeus ). His creation of binomial nomenclature had a positive effect on
the field of biology because it allowed for organisms to be grouped, and given a two
part name, which was much shorter than previous ones. Also, even though this
system was shorter, it was still very descriptive, accurate and allowed for a greater
advancement in the biological naming and knowledge of

The Department of Commerce and Labor was established on February 14, 1903,

later it was divided into two separate entities, the Department of Commerce and the

was monitoring trades between the United States and other nations. An important

Abortion Is Abortion
ABORTION: LIFE OR DEATH
Abortion is one of the most controversial subjects that has been continually argued
over for many years all over the world that poses the questions death or life. Abortion
discusses one s interaction where ethics, emotions, medical, and law come into place.
According to the Webster Dictionary abortion is the loss of the fetus or unborn child
before it can live outside the womb. The killing a human life is a contradiction to
the norms of society, from a biblical point of view, one will believe that abortion is
wrong because it is a sin that is stated in Exodus 20:13, the sixth commandment of
the law of God Thou shall not kill , and such an act should be outright illegal.
Although abortion may seem to be the only correct solution for an unwanted
pregnancy, it is cruel, unethical, and presents a double standard for society; therefore,
it should be considered illegal except under some special cases and medical
circumstances that indicate a danger to the mother and child.
According to W. L. Saunders, Every human being begins as a single cell zygote,
grows through the embryonic stage then the fetal stage, is born and develops through
infancy, through childhood, and through adulthood, until death. Each human being is
genetically the same human being at every stage, despite changes in his or her
appearance. The bible states in Jeremiah 1:5 before I formed thee in the belly I knew
thee,.... Not merely by God s omniscience, therefore, he knows all human
Individuals with Mental Disorders

groups included people suffering in political prisons to the of abusement towards

of someone who has emotional or behavioral problems that are serious enough to
require psychiatric intervention. People with different mental disorders are given
different kinds of medical care, given different treatment by everyday people, and
are put into hospitals which is like living in hell. (NY Daily News). Today, people

Jails, at the time, are the only place that the mental can go right now because they
can not say no to anyone; therefor, the mentally ill are being dropped on the front
step without any kinds of treatments and now have to deal with a criminal record.
Some states allow police officers to come into a person home and escort them to a
jail if they have been reported as mentally ill. These patients are treated badly
because they are running out of places to be put. The living conditions in mental
hospitals are not very clean. New York Daily News reported that psychiatric
hospitals are like living in hell (NY Daily News). The group interviewed Arthur
Swafford after his visit to Kings County Hospital last year when he was looking
for help. He described how he slept, telling about the rodent infested floors in the
very overcrowded ward. The bathrooms were covered with smears of feces and
guards kept order by abusing any patient that dared go out of line. President of
Health and Hospitals Corp., Alan Aviles, admitted that he knew about the
overcrowdedness but said that the lawsuit as greatly inaccurate along with

Heroism Of The Molly Maguires
Many say that fighting for your rights is an act of heroism, but that was not the
case with the Molly Maguires. The Molly Maguires were miners in the late 19th
century who believed they were treated unfairly and deserved better rights. Their
voices were not heard, and therefore a small group was created to take matter into
their own hands. They would secretly destroy properties to get the mining company s
attention, but backfired. Since they were a secret group, their story is not known
fully. Therefore, people have have their own assumptions of what and who the Molly
Maguireswere. Initially, the Molly Maguires were devoting their lives to being miners
and were not getting compensated with what they deserved. They were located...

In the film The Molly Maguires directed by Martin Ritt, physically shows how the
situation may have been like. The movie shows the lack of respect the supervisors
or the mining employers had for the workers. The mining company hired detective
James McParlan to find information that will go against the Mollies. Their
objective was not to only stop the mollies but to also make them go to trial and be
judged guilty, which eventually leads to their deaths. It shows that the company
did not care about their workers, but only the money they got from their labor.
They had small children working in places that they could be crushed. At the time
they still did not have a law that could protect children, it was later implemented in
1938 that prohibited child labor. In fact, we know the mining company did not
care for their workers because in the scene where Mr.Raines dies of black lung
disease the leader of the mollies takes action into his own hands. They go and
destroy the store because Mr.Raines has done so much for the mine, but on the day
of his funeral he didn t even have a proper suit (since it couldn t be afforded). It
shows how desperate the workers were for money, that not even for their last day on
earth they have
Influences of Fear in What s Eating Away At Gilbert
Grape...
Fear influences the way humans react and the actions that transpire. Some embrace
the feeling of fear; others try to overcome obstacles that fear creates. Sometimes, fear
stimulates a strong response of self isolation to shield one s mind from accepting
emotion. This response, however, can manifest into an extreme nature, creating the
personality that Gilbert Grape exhibits. Peter Hedgesclearly communicates the fact
that Gilbert underwent a transformation and his personality reflects the change. The
transformation not only causes Gilbert to become conflicted with expressing his
feelings, but he fears the guilt of doing so as well. Gilbert struggles with his family
controlling his opinions, emotions and actions. Peter Hedges illustrates the crippling
nature of fearin What s Eating Gilbert Grape. Gilbert becomes emotionally isolated
due to his fear of judgment. The relationship between Gilbert and his family
strained by the fear to act and the reality of his life creates the alienated personality
readers see. Throughout What s Eating Gilbert Grape, examples of his fear of
judgment crippling him begin to surface. Gilbert says, Something is not right about
all this food going to my house. Something is wrong inside me, I start to think, but I
change the subject (112). Gilbert desperately wants to express on how food
negatively affects his whole family, especially himself. However, readers see that
Gilbert cannot even argue with himself, demonstrating how fear really plays
Dubai Aviation And International Airport
Introduction
Since the building of Dubai s first airport in 1959, Dubai s aviation industry has
grown into one of the world s largest logistical hubs. With the addition of a $32
billion facility, The Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai s aviation industry has
had local, regional, and global impact, positioning Dubai as a world hub in the
Middle East for tourism, trade, and commerce (Greenway, 2013, p 33). This essay
will explore the aviation model in Dubai from the creation of its first airport in 1959,
to the planned opening of The Al Maktoum International Airport to passenger travel
in 2015.
Topics of this paper will include how Dubai s aviation model has impacted the
economies of both regional and international communities, and how the current
infrastructure of Dubai s logistics industry will affect the growth within the Dubai
aviation model. Citing recent studies, this paper will explore how the Dubai
aviation sector has contributed to its own region s growth while threatening the
status of past international aviation hubs such as Britain s Heathrow airport. The
ambition of Dubai s ruling government will be discussed as a major factor in the
growth of Dubai s aviation model. Specifically, how Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed
Maktoum s ambition and vision has helped establish the emirate as an award
winning logistics hub (Greenway, 2013, p 33). In spite of recent crisis in global
economies, Dubai s aviation sector has largely been responsible for restoring
economic and
The Appointment In Samarra
Assignment 1: What is the moral of the story? What makes you think so?
The Appointment in Samarra is a short tale about a merchant s worker who tries to
maintain a strategic distance from his meeting with Death. In the story the hireling
meets with Death at Baghdad then he loans a stallion from the merchant and escapes
to Samarra. He is believed that he will escape from death, however he even doesn t
have an inkling that death had an appointment with him in Samarra.
Personification: In this story the author speaks to death as a human who specifically
appears as a woman. Furthermore, at end of the story the merchant had a discussion
with death. In this story death is a dead thought however, it speaks to a human. In this
way, this explanation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a clear case of unscrupulous contention, utilizing euphemisms and false portrayals
to demonstrate a suggestion that an advocate is one sided from the beginning.
The ground of the ethics is unclear and pompous. Why is influence better than force?
Is this because the author made the sun appear victorious, therefore, can we strongly
claim that his text works? If the North Wind was effective in brushing off the man s
jacket, would that at that point imply that influence and force were similarly great ?
The tale with such a moral standing isn t doing a decent job in bringing out an
ethical judgment; it is rather enlisting a vote in favor of consequentialism: On the off
chance that it works, is it considered to being good? However, does the end justifies
the means?
What the challenge truly demonstrates is that the North Wind is a numb skull, and
the Sun doctored the competition by deceiving the North Wind into an out of line
test. Consider the possibility that the competition had been to figure out who might
have the capacity to get the man to put on his jacket. I don t know about you, but I m
wagering on the Wind. The tale chooses from the start that the Sun s energy is delicate
and convincing, and the Wind is, by definition,

  • 1. Product Evaluation Essay Crafting a Product Evaluation Essay can be a challenging task that requires a unique blend of analytical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in presenting personal opinions but in substantiating them with concrete evidence and logical reasoning. To start with, one must thoroughly understand the product under evaluation, which might involve extensive research and hands-on experience. Analyzing its features, functionality, and overall impact is crucial. Additionally, assessing its market presence, user reviews, and competitive positioning adds another layer of complexity. The evaluative process demands a balanced perspective, avoiding biases and subjective judgments. Striking a chord between highlighting the positive aspects and addressing the shortcomings is delicate but necessary. It requires the writer to navigate through a sea of information, identifying the most relevant details that contribute to a comprehensive evaluation. Moreover, structuring the essay coherently is a formidable challenge. Ensuring a seamless flow of ideas, from introducing the product to presenting the evaluation criteria and finally, drawing a well-supported conclusion, demands careful planning and organization. Each section needs to contribute to the overall argument, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout. Furthermore, crafting a compelling thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of the evaluation and grabs the reader's attention is no easy feat. The writer must strike a balance between being informative and engaging, setting the tone for the entire essay. In conclusion, writing a Product Evaluation Essay involves navigating through a complex web of information, maintaining objectivity, and presenting a cohesive argument. It's a task that requires a combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. • 2. Personal Reflection And Development Plan Personal Reflection and Development Plan Reflective practice has helped many people to improve their learning. It is a valuable tool often used by healthcare and education providers to improve their approach to work by questioning their actions. Throughout my short time spent in Higher Education (HE) I have learned many new aspects of learning like different learning styles and models of reflection and this provides me with an opportunity to look back over these ideas and reflect. This will allow me to use these skills to my advantage and develop myself with a development plan to continue my educational understanding. The word Reflection simply means careful thought about a particular subject (Collins English Dictionary, 2013). It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jasper (2013) states that reflection allows us to learn for ourselves, rather than being taught in a lesson or watching and mimicking an instructor s actions, instead we are now able to look inwards and critique ourselves, at which point we can adapt our future performance through personal knowledge of a subject. In a certain fashion, the reflector now uses their understanding to become the teacher of themselves, allowing proficient, skilled workers the ability to continuously develop (Rushton and Suter, 2012). Reflection can come naturally to some learners, meaning they would use it often to help with their development, others can find it a taxing process and must put in more mental effort to use it effectively (Jarvis, 1992). Schon (1983) writes about two specific types of reflection used, reflection in action and reflection on action . At many points in life reflection is undertaken whilst performing an action, for instance, think of a jazz musician playing an instrument with no sheet music, they are altering their performance in action to decide where to take the music next. Reflecting whilst performing the action allows for improvisation as they are adept at what they are
  • 3. Comparing Yulia In Mrs. Bertha Flowers And The Ninny Despite the time period differences, the short stories Mrs. Bertha Flowers and The Ninny are similar because of the personalities and actions of the two main characters, Marguerite and Yulia. These two characters are similar due to their quiet and reserved personalities, their low self esteem, and how they both are devalued in their societies. To begin, Marguerite and Yulia are quiet and reserved, and this is demonstrated through the way they act. In Mrs. Bertha Flowers, Marguerite refuses to often talk aloud following her traumatic experience of being raped at the age of eight. Her sudden quiet and reserved behaviour is acknowledged by Mrs. Bertha Flowers, as well as by Marguerite s grandmother and teachers. Yulia shows she is quiet and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following this trauma, Marguerite is left to feel worthless because of how she was stripped away of any semblance of power and confidence she may have once had. Her lack of self esteem is in part caused by this event, as well as the fact that she lives in a society which discriminates against her and her black community. Yulia has low self esteem because she is degraded by multiple of her high class, male employers. This is evident when Yulia speaks to her current employer about how her previous bosses had refused to give her any pay, despite what they had promised. Finally, Marguerite is devalued in her society because she is a young, African American girl during the early 1900s. She is depreciated in her society because black people are segregated from white people, and are not given equal rights. White people in her society are favoured, whereas Marguerite and other black people are treated as inferior. Yulia is devalued by her society because she is a poorly educated, lower class female in late 19th century Russia. Her society is strongly represented as being sexist and classist, so she is deemed less valuable than her male, higher class
  • 4. Fall Of Disco The Rise and Fall of Disco The birth of Disco had a huge influence on the American culture in the 1970s. It reached far beyond music and into fashion, club culture, and film. Disco was created in Philadelphia and New York City in the late 1960s and early 1970s, formed by people in reaction to the popularity of rock music and the lack of progress of dance music in the late 60s. First heard in nightclubs for many minority groups including Italians, Latinos, blacks, gays, and hippies, it was embraced by women, as well as men, and many female entertainers came into fame because of disco music. Rockers thought disco music was shallow and useless, while their music was often political and radical. A publicity stunt on July 12, 1979 by the Chicago White Sox association had fans bring disco albums to destroy between games. It eventually culminated in a riot known as Disco Demolition
  • 5. Themes Of Oppression In Crown Of Midnight By Sarah J Maas Celaena heard it now as if for the first time, the story of a Fae blessed with a horrible, profound power that was sought by kings and lords in every kingdom. While they used her to win wars and conquer nations, they all feared her―and kept their distance (118). Sarah J Maas is an American Author best recognized for her Throne of Glass series. Its second installment, Crown of Midnight, follows Celaena as she spars with her loyalty. One grievous night forces her to choose allies and foes. To emphasize the focal idea, Maas utilizes themes of rebellion, oppression, and death. First and foremost, a crucial theme embedded is rebellion. The King of Adarlan is recognized as a megalomaniac, from his own son to the prisoners in Callaculla. He is on a quest to conquer all of Erilea. But in order to do so, he is in need of somebody to do all of his dirty work, and that is when Celaena comes into the light. Her task is to kill the King s enemies. Conversely, she disobeys direct orders. I haven t killed any of the people the king commanded me to assassinate (184). When she consults it with her friend Chaol, he is livid. If the king finds out, he will force Chaol to kill Celaena as punishment for being her friend. Chaol attempts to talk sense into Celaena by calling those men traitors to the crown. She scoffs, Traitors. For refusing to grovel before a conqueror? For sheltering escaped slaves trying to get home? For daring to believe in a world that s better than this gods forsaken

However, it is very clear that not all lives are treated equal, even if they are technically considered to be. It s impossible to ignore the fact that African American people have been treated as lesser human beings. The interview conducted with Judith Butler titled What s Wrong With All Lives Matter, addressed the ongoing issue between the equality between a black and white individual White privilege plays a big role in why we continue to struggle with the issue of racism. The word racism will always leave a mark on our world, because no matter how hard our society tries to rid ourselves of it, there will always be racism somewhere, poisoning the surrounding people. During the interview, Butler states that it is true that all lives matter, but it is equally true that not all lives are understood to matter which is precisely why it is most important to name the lives that have not mattered, and are struggling to matter in the way they deserve. Initially, this quote angered me in the sense that I believed everyone is treated equal and it is unfair to make that statement. It is possible that others had a similar reaction as the one I did. The mind body problem says that nonphysical things cannot interact casually with physical things, but states that the mind and body interact casually. There are three theories that have different ways of explaining how the mind and body do interact casually. Dualismis the theory that the mindand body are sperate things and they can interact casually. This theory says that nonphysical things can interact with physical things. Physicalism is the theory that humans can be adequately explained by physical or material components. This theory says that the mind is a physical thing instead of nonphysical. Functionalism is the theory that the mind is categorized by patterns of input processing output. This theory rejects the mind body problem. It says that the mind is like a computer, there is an input of information or experiences, the information is processed, and then you have an output of a response. Out of these three theories, Physicalism makes the most sense. These 3 events are the largest mega events in the world, and are excellent representations of sporting mega events as a whole. While I was there I visited the Jim Crow room/exhibition, formerly known as the Komics, Koon, and Klan room. The room/exhibit had pretty much the same artifacts from the last time I visited in 2015, but I did notice that they had a new section for Rare Klu Klux Klan Memorabilia. The KKK sword found in the KKK memorabilia section made me upset and sent chills down my spine. Mainly because the

The Oxford English Dictionary defines professions as that way of life/manner of making a living that involves the application of a specialized knowledge of particular subjects, field, or science to fee paying clientele. Examples of professions include nursing, architecture, medicine and engineering. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For Wasserstrom, the lawyer client relationship is morally objectionable because it is a relationship which the lawyer dominates allowing inevitably for a situation where the lawyer treats the client in both an impersonal and a paternalistic fashion. He sees the lawyer as a professional, one that is different from other professionals. He sees this profession to be more vulnerable to moral criticism than any other. In the Watergate affair, it was noted that most of the persons involved in the cover up were lawyers. Wasserstrom proposes that it is not an accident, the fact that most of the characters involved belonged to the legal profession; the fact is, lawyers see society through the eyes of one who understands the labyrinth of legalities which made it rather easy for them to manipulate the affair and do what they have done. For him, this was a good example of noting the intricacies of the lawyering profession, particularly professionalism. Wasserstrom holds that the core of the problem is professionalism and its role differentiated behavior. Role differentiation refers to situations in which one s moral response will vary depending upon whether one is acting in a personal capacity or in a professional, representative one. In one of his examples, he illustrates that the way a parent would distribute assets among children who are strangers would be morally different if it was being distributed among children whom they have reared and

ACS is a governmental agency that protects and promotes safety and well being of New York City s children and families by providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care and education services ( ACS About, n.d.). The mission of the Administration for Children s Services (ACS), Division of Child Protection (DCP), is to protect all children who are being abused or neglected in the City of New York, and to ensure that the appropriate services are provided to protect children and strengthen families (Casework Practice Guide, 2001). The parents reported that Cindy has missed 5 months of school and is doing poorly academically. The parents reported that the child leaves home every morning to attend school; however she does not go to school. The parents reported that they are not aware of Cindy s whereabouts when she is not at school. The father reported that he is concerned that the child may be involved with the 24 year old man she dated in the past. He spends most of his time on the road, traveling long distances across the United States and back and meeting different people from various backgrounds during his road trips. Throughout the course of his novel, he frequently takes on other forms of identities and appears to detach himself away from not only his own character, but from his own hometown and upbringing. At the end of Part Two, Sal has decided to leave Dean behind in North Carolina. (Kerouac, 180) At the end of the chapter, he had realized that coming to Frisco with Dean made him feel unaccomplished and unsatisfied, and he then decides to embark on a trip to Denver on his own. (Kerouac, 180) He tells us here: At lilac evening I walked with every muscle aching among the lights of 27th and Welton in the Denver colored section, wishing I were a Negro, feeling that the best the white world had offered was not enough ecstasy for me, not enough life, joy, kicks, darkness, music, not enough night... I wished I were a Denver Mexican, or even a poor overworked Jap, anything but what I was so drearily, a white man disillusioned... (Kerouac, 181 182) It is clear to us that Sal is unsatisfied with his life from the beginning, itching to try out new environments far from home. However, as he goes across the country either with Dean or on his own he realizes how unhappy he is. He desires to be another person, with another person,

With its ability to have messages in picture form that disappeared quickly, it was and still is very appealing; especially to adolescents such as myself. The thing I find so many people fail to look past with this app is its privacypolicies and how much information they are giving to snapchat. One of my major focuses will be on the surveillance tactics used by Snapchat. First it was just photos, then screenshots, then face recognition came, and now most recently something called snapchat maps. The amount of content and personal details Snapchat has collected of our lives is astounding; however, everyone looks past it. • 16. Milton and Classical Predecessors As shown in studies by researchers including Wilmon Brewer, the similarities between the works of Milton and his classical predecessors, such as Athenian bards Aeschylus and Sophocles, strongly suggest their inspiration upon his work. However, this doesn t necessarily mean that Milton blatantly passed off the works of his influences as his own; his ingenuity manifests in the form of updated storylines and personalities for the characters in his epic poems, namely those in Samson Agonistes and Paradise Lost, both based upon stories in the Bible. With that in mind, he appointed exemplars from Scripture to his tragic masterpieces as they demonstrate the outcomes of sin: Satan, Adam, and Eve in Paradise Lost, and Samson in Samson Agonistes. Brewer states that Milton praised Aeschylus Prometheus Bound, noting To the work of Aeschylus Milton refers four times in passages of criticism. The references become more and more inclusive and increasingly favorable (910). Indeed, Milton applauds his Athenian influences in the preface of Agonistes, calling them unequalled yet by any, and the best to rule all who endeavor to write tragedy (qtd. in Brewer 911). Brewer interprets this as holding the Athenians in higher regard over Shakespeare, whom Milton also admired. He suggests Aeschylus trilogy on the death of Agamemnon prompted Milton s admiration for drama portraying human suffering. As the subject of the popular saying, pride comes before the fall, Satan s arrogance is

He recorded these ideas in his Poetics in which he comments on the plot, purpose, and effect that a true tragedy must have. The structure of these tragedies has been an example for many writers including Shakespeare himself. Many of Shakespeare s plays follow Aristotelian ideas of tragedy, for instance Macbethdoes a decent job in shadowing Aristotle s model. In the end, Macbeth is killed by Macduff; because of his arrogance he believed he was invincible even after being told his fate. Macbeth reaches his end through the same way he lived his life, through murder and deception. Many argue over the fairness of Macbeth s life, but the goal of a tragedy in Aristotle s view point is to strike fear and pity in the audience through harsh punishment upon the hero in extreme ways. Finally, Aristotle claims that in order for a tragedy to be effective, the fear and pity must be released from the audience through catharsis. First the tragic hero must gain some knowledge from his tragic life. Macbeth shows this self realization in his yellow leaf soliloquy when he expresses remorse for his actions. Also, in the end he knows he must fight until the end whether his fate is death. At this point the audience is cleansed of the emotions of the plot and the tragedy is finished. Macbeth is a primary example of a typical Aristotelian tragedy. It follows the structure necessary from the tragic hero, to his downfall and ultimately to the catharsis necessary for an original Greek drama. The aspects of this play are a perfect example of the tragedies of that

Labelling theory is they theory of how self identity and behavior of individuals may be determined or influenced by the terms used to describe or classify them. It is associated with the concepts of self fulfilling the prophecy and stereotyping. This theory is coming associated with the sociology of criminal and deviance, where it is used to point out how social processes of labelling and treating someone as criminally deviant fosters deviant behavior, which then can lead to negative repercussions for that person due to other people within the society being biased against people being labelled a deviant (C N Trueman, 2016). What is the implication for the criminal justice policy? The implications of labelling theory are that the key idea is that not everyone who commits an offence is punished for it, if a person has been punished for their convictions all truly depends on whether, their interactions with agencies of social control such as the police and the courts, their appearance, background and personal biography and the situation and circumstance of the offence they had committed (Cole, 2017). Training and Development for a Diverse Workforceв Ђ™ IRHR3510 Research Paper 1 Training and Development for a Diverse Workforce Completed by Emma Moulder Due April 14, 2010 Today s Society as a whole is ever changing and exceedingly diverse. This can also be said in the nature of business. Therefore, it is critical for organisations, HR managers and employers within any business to find different methods of training and development to suit their workforce, as well as trying to attract and keep talented employees through such opportunities. It is not satisfactory for employers to treat each employee the same, but instead must view each as an individual with differences, such as working styles, personality traits, culture, socioeconomic background, educational background and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They must consider language differences especially whilst preparing training material. Some individuals may also require an interpreter to get messages across clearly (Noe, Raymond, 2002, p333). If an interpreter is used, it is important to conduct a practice session with the interpreter to evaluate pacing of the session and whether the amount of topics and material is appropriate (Noe, Raymond, 2002, p333). A needs assessment or analysis would be helpful for trainers to evaluate cultural dimensions and the characteristics of their employees whether it be language barriers, cultural status (Noe, Raymond, 2002, p334). By identifying the needs of cultural and ethnic minorities, trainers will be able to properly train and develop this minority to group to not only suit the individual themself but also the company. Gender diversity in the workforce is another issue trainers must address. Women are increasingly entering the workplace at rapid speeds and due to their responsibility for home and family matters, employers and HR managers must provide flexibility and solutions through training and developing. Many women in the workforce have to juggle motherhood and try to manage a career and work life at the same time and studies have shown that the strain is beginning to take its toll on the general health and wellbeing of the female population (Robinson, Deborah, 2008, p1). Women need to be mentored by trainers to step up at take more senior positions in

During this period when Beethoven had almost stopped working on music creation, he was living off funds from his earlier compositions, and symphonies. One of the main advantages of his system was that these names were linked to diagnoses, description, information, and references, and allowed many similarities to be found between similar organisms. Another reason his work was considered such a landmark work was that it was the first ever accurate nomenclatural system and due to its descriptiveness, accuracy and shortness compared to earlier systems it won widespread praise and acceptance (Mertz pg 169). This system would eventually be known as Binomial Nomenclature and would official cement Carolus Linnaeus as one of the Greatest Botanist Ever because it allowed scientists to identify plants and organisms more accurately ( Carolus Linnaeus ). It also allowed for greater advancement in biological naming and knowledge and allowed for thousands of new and unidentified organisms to be named accurately and related to similar organisms ( Carolus Linnaeus ). His creation of binomial nomenclature had a positive effect on the field of biology because it allowed for organisms to be grouped, and given a two part name, which was much shorter than previous ones. Also, even though this system was shorter, it was still very descriptive, accurate and allowed for a greater advancement in the biological naming and knowledge of

Abortion Is Abortion ABORTION: LIFE OR DEATH Abortion is one of the most controversial subjects that has been continually argued over for many years all over the world that poses the questions death or life. Abortion discusses one s interaction where ethics, emotions, medical, and law come into place. According to the Webster Dictionary abortion is the loss of the fetus or unborn child before it can live outside the womb. The killing a human life is a contradiction to the norms of society, from a biblical point of view, one will believe that abortion is wrong because it is a sin that is stated in Exodus 20:13, the sixth commandment of the law of God Thou shall not kill , and such an act should be outright illegal. Although abortion may seem to be the only correct solution for an unwanted pregnancy, it is cruel, unethical, and presents a double standard for society; therefore, it should be considered illegal except under some special cases and medical circumstances that indicate a danger to the mother and child. According to W. L. Saunders, Every human being begins as a single cell zygote, grows through the embryonic stage then the fetal stage, is born and develops through infancy, through childhood, and through adulthood, until death. The mining company hired detective James McParlan to find information that will go against the Mollies. Their objective was not to only stop the mollies but to also make them go to trial and be judged guilty, which eventually leads to their deaths. It shows that the company did not care about their workers, but only the money they got from their labor. They had small children working in places that they could be crushed. At the time they still did not have a law that could protect children, it was later implemented in 1938 that prohibited child labor. If the North Wind was effective in brushing off the man s jacket, would that at that point imply that influence and force were similarly great ? The tale with such a moral standing isn t doing a decent job in bringing out an ethical judgment; it is rather enlisting a vote in favor of consequentialism: On the off chance that it works, is it considered to being good?
