Leadership Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of leadership can be both challenging and rewarding. The
intricacies lie not only in presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also in
capturing the elusive essence of effective leadership. The difficulty arises from the broad scope
of the topic, encompassing various leadership styles, theories, and personal experiences.
To create a compelling essay, one must delve into the theoretical frameworks of leadership,
exploring concepts such as transformational, transactional, situational, and servant leadership.
This requires a deep understanding of the nuances that distinguish each style and the ability to
articulate how these styles manifest in real-world scenarios.
Moreover, leadership is a dynamic and evolving concept, shaped by cultural, social, and historical
contexts. An effective essay on leadership should consider these factors and discuss how leaders
navigate the complexities of their environments. Integrating relevant examples and case studies
adds depth to the analysis, but the challenge lies in selecting the most pertinent and illustrative
examples.
Furthermore, addressing the personal aspect of leadership can be particularly challenging.
Sharing personal experiences and reflections requires a delicate balance between vulnerability
and professionalism. Striking this balance is crucial to establishing a connection with the reader
while maintaining the academic integrity of the essay.
In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on leadership demands a comprehensive understanding
of leadership theories, the ability to analyze real-world examples, and the skill to weave personal
experiences into a coherent narrative. It is a task that requires not only academic prowess but also
a nuanced understanding of the human aspects of leadership. Despite its challenges, successfully
navigating this complexity can result in a powerful and insightful essay.

The Effects Of Traffic Congestion
Traffic congestion in the United States is becoming increasingly salient to citizens,
private companies, and government actors. Traffic congestion, particularly on major
highways and interstates, increases with economic development and production.
First, as the economy develops, workers income rises. Public transportation is an
inferior good in that a person s demand for it decreases as their income rises. Thus,
as workers in a growing economy gain income, they begin to purchase vehicles,
which leads to more drivers on the roads (Road Congestion). A second way in which
economic growth affects traffic congestionis through business and other urban
development. As a city s borders expand with new businesses and residential areas,
the amount of people increases quickly, while new infrastructure to sustain them
follows slowly behind in a dragging effect. To worsen the problem, these new
businesses have new employees who travel on the same roads at the same time of
day, which further leads to congestion during peak hours (Winaisathaporn).
It is important to understand that traffic congestions are more than an annoyance to
the daily commuter, but a huge negative externality on society. A negative externality
is a cost imposed on a person due to the productivity or actions of another person. As
established, congestion is directly caused by economic development by the
government and private firms. But what does traffic congestion cost us? An article
summarizing results from the

Separation From Britain By Thomas Paine
Separation from Britain was a brilliant alternative route by the Second Continental
Congress, and their supporters, the patriots, they were not submissive to the Britain
tyrannical reigning. However, there are many online article, books, and credible
websites that support the idea of America remaining with the British for commercial
and military purposes. But the delegates in the Second Continental Congress, for
example, John Dickson, George read, and many other colony representatives, gained
an opening in seceding from the British Crown. Since the American RevolutionWar
already began before the Second Continental Congress met, delegates wanted to raise
a stronger army and weapon to counter the Crown forces. Additionally, an English...

These arrangements from the Crown evoked in American political pundits and the
American people into calling for separation, made the colonies aggravated and
invigorated into revolting against the Crown. One example of the British ruler
harsh engagements was from King George the Third who fired artillery at the one
of the colonies which was Boston and its people because of the many political
activist groups who refuse to abide into paying direct taxes for British tea, and some
members of the Son of Liberty invoking threats towards British officials input in the
colonies for tax collecting. Overall, there are many advantages for the colonies to
fight for individuality, in many aspects colonies who separate from the Britain have
many upcoming reimbursements and advantage by leaving British control. America s
autonomy has many issues, but one of the problems has been solved by colonist that
Britain cloud not solve very well like religious toleration and separation from church
and state. In the mid 1600 century, Europe was subjugated by Christian principles.
The colonies, mainly people in Massachusetts, were refugees escaping Britain s
persecution, which were the Puritan. The Puritans and their government system
believe that the religion and political area should be separated. However, as time
went on, it was clear that Puritans did not distinct civil

Tekla was 13 when her life changed. She sneaked out to a party that summer with a
girlfriend she had known since she was 5. While sitting around the table playing
dominoes, she was punched by that same friend and later assaulted by a couple of
guys. I guess that s what pretty much when I changed, Tekla says. I began to no
longer place any value on myself. That same group then talked about taking Tekla
to a truck stop and selling her interested parties. At the time, she had no idea what
commercial sex trafficking meant (exploiting a person to perform sexual acts in
exchange for money or other valued goods). Fortunately for her, a third guy took
her home before things escalated (Mcnamara,2015). The people who are sex
traffickers who traffics humans are sometimes called pimps. The pimps usually
target people who they think are weak minded or people who are isolated. The text
states The pimp might think, I ll have her start hooking up with some of my friends
because she s in love with me. Then little by little, he may ask her to run away for a
day, and on from there, explains Hollie. (Mcnamara, 2015).If a victim shows
resistance, physical force, blackmail and threats to a family member may be used.
Pimps control the victims physically and mentally. Traffickers can hide in many
shapes or forms you never know what a person s true intentions are until they
reveal them to you their self. Often questions are asked like why people are
trafficked. Well according to Earlene Newson she says they are mostly trafficked
because they are offered false promises. Such as a better life, a job, and educational
opportunities. I also asked her who the traffickers in her eyes were. She believed
the traffickers are individuals who come from a poor socio economic background.

European Expansion Of America
Summary
The beginning of the interaction of the Americas and Europe all started with the
expansion of Europe. Europe had been an agricultural society that thrived and was
continually expanding. However, the Black Death wiped out a third of the western
European population. Technological breakthroughs proved that the European
economy had a large capacity for recovery in the late middle ages. Following the
middle ages came the Renaissance. The Renaissance outlooks and ideas where what
helped spark the spirit that motivated the exploration of the Americas. The Portuguese
where the first to start exploring. They founded many bases along the western
African Gold Coast. These bases where all placed in key spots for the Asian spice
trade. At this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The French decided to travel to the Americas as well. They wanted to expand on
the fur trade. In Europe, fur had become rare and expensive as hunters pushed
game populations to its limit. They traded natives copper, glass, and textile, in
exchange for cheap fur. Traders would then take it back to France and sell it for 10
20 times more than what they got it for. At the same time, Indians became
dependent on European tools and products. This was bad news for them. At the
same time, the French brought over new diseases and illnesses, repeating what the
Spaniards had done to those in Central America. French peoples also came to the
Americas in search of religious and social freedoms that they could not obtain in
France. During the Protestant Reformation, a group of Huguenots settled in Fort
Caroline on the St. John River in Florida. The Spanish where alarmed by this and a
series of battles occurred between the French and Spanish. During this time,
England also took upon itself a new state religion, with King Henry VIII at the head
of it. After a series of new kings and queens, English people where pushed out of
their homes and forced to live in streets. Some where sent to Ireland, but the Irish
fought back with fierce intensity, giving them the nickname, the wild Irish. The
English people viewed themselves as civilized and grew the notion that civilized
people could not mix with such savages and this was an
The Ancient Olympics
Most people know that the Olympics were started in Greece and that there must be
at least one difference between the ancient Olympics and the more recent
Olympics. But contrary to common belief the olympics have significally changed
from when they first began ,not only has the meaning of the events changed but
the athletes able to participate. One story says that the games were started by
Herakles (Roman Hercules) and Alceme. There are other known records of who
began the games. The first known written record of the games is in 776 B.C. ,but
it is believed that they originated earlier.(D) During the games fighting in Greece
would cease so the games could be held. The games were ende in394 A.D. because
Christian Emperor Theodosius I declared them pagan traditions.(C) The name
Olympics is derived from Olympia the place where the games were held. Olympia
is part of the western side Peloponnese. Pelops , to whom the land is named, is also
said to be the founder of the games. Olympia is composed of shrines, sporting
facilities, and temples. Olympia was used as a political and religious meeting
center since the 10th century B.C. The center of Olympia was mainly composed of
a to Zeus (Roman Jove or Jupiter) and a temple to Hera (Roman Juno) parallel.(A)
The city was mostly covered by temples because the games acknowledged the Greek
gods. The most important temple was the one devoted to Zeus , the ruler of the
Greek gods. The written records from 776 B.C. show that the first
Disadvantages Of Waiver Release
During the past two years, the number of lawsuits against recreation and
entertainment business venues has steadily risen. In today s struggling economy,
even the smallest incident can result in a lawsuit. As more people lose their jobs
and medical insurance benefits, they will turn to litigation to recover the costs for
injuries that may or may not have been the result of the venue s negligence. For
most recreational operations such as indoor climbing gyms, sports centers and
guides programs, the most utilized and required risk management tool in the
insurance industry is the waiver release and assumption of risk form that must be
signed by the participant. These forms are designed to provide two benefits: Transfer
responsibility of injuries and property damage from the insured to the participant
through the waiver release indemnification clause. Adult waiver release and
assumption of risk laws vary from state to state. A few states will not enforce
waivers, and many states have very strict interpretations of the waiver language, other
states are more tolerant in their interpretations. There has been momentum toward
accepting a properly signed minor waiver and release in many states, but this is not
always a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, a six year old minor most likely would not understand these risks. The key to
the waiver and release procedure of any operation is to make sure that all
participants read and sign the waiver, and that the insured keeps the waivers for a
minimum period of time as required by their insurance carrier. I also want to touch
on the case that took place in 2009, about Ed O Bannon and other former college
football and basketball athletes that filed a class action lawsuit against the NCAA on
the grounds that the NCAA violated several Federal antitrust

Persuasive Essay On Homeless
47,725 or about 8% of the homeless population are veterans and 50% of the
homeless people are over 50 years old in the U.S. Homelessness is an unsatisfactory
issue that we as humans do not see the importance of the help they need. In our
community, we take things for granted and not worry about the importance of
helping others. The unfortunate people living in the streets have passed through
difficult times and appreciate small or big things. Homeless is a person without a
home, and therefore typically living on the streets. Some homeless people have
become abusive of drugs, alcohol, and other different type of drugs. Homelessnessis a
major problem in our society. Homelessness contaminates our city, makes our city
look dirty, and it is priority to fix this problem. To begin, homelessness contaminates
our city and spreads diseases like Hepatitis A, HIV/AIDS of sexually transmitted
infections, virus and Tuberculosis. For example, when the unhoused go to the public
bathroom, sometimes they do not clean themselves or wash their hands. During, the
homeless pass it on to their neighbors or other living creatures and spread or
contaminate with different types of diseases. Homeless contaminate our city by
littering on the ground with plastic, foil, and other types of things that contaminate.
Based on what I have seen, one example is when I go down to the Santa Ana Public
Library my mom, sister, and I see that there are various amounts of trash on the
ground. To include, when my family and I pass through the Angels Stadium in
Anaheim I see that there are numerous homeless people that are contaminating our
environment with plenty of diseases. To add, in the short story ВЁWhat do Fish
Have to do With AnythingВЁ by Avi, it states that ВЁhis matted, streaky gray hair
hung like a ragged curtain over his dirty face when describing the homeless man. As
a matter of fact, the author states, his shoes were torn; he had rough hands that lay
upon his knees; and his hand was palm up. No one seemed to pay him any attention
and he begs for money. Because he is filthy, most likely he is carrying bacteria that
may cause diseases. In my community, near the riverbed you can tell that the
homeless leave their feces
Why A Credit Recovery Intervention Program Will Impact...
Truancy is defined as being absent from school without an excusable reason. New
Mexico identifies truancy as having occurred after the fifth unexcused absence
according to the New Mexico Public Education Department (2014). Earning credit
is defined as the successful completion of classes. Students must meet a minimum
number of credits each year to advance to the next grade level. Students who do not
earn credit for a course will either have to repeat the class or take credit recovery
courses online after school or during summer school, which can be costly and time
consuming. The independent variables in this study are the intervention program and
the judicial involvement. The dependent variable is the attendance of the two groups
of sample students during the second semester of school, after they have either
attended intervention or been processed by the court system. Literature Review This
research study seeks to ascertain whether a credit recovery intervention program will
impact students with truancy issues and credit loss to help prevent further loss of
credits. If the program proves to be effective on a local scale, its model could be
studied further and applied to other districts. This review of literature will describe
examples of current research which will define the concerns that accompany truancy
and previous attempts at intervention for the students affected by this issue. Risk

The Low Water Levels in Lake Bridgeport
Lake Bridgeport was built in 1930 for flood control, water storage and recreation.
Tarrant County owns the land and water that makes the lake. There is a spillway
that takes water through the Trinity River to Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth.
This year has been a rough year for Lake Bridgeport with three digit temperatures
and draining water to the other lakes. Since one of the purposes to build Lake
Bridgeport was for storage, The Tarrant County water district approved to let out
20,000 acre feet of water from Lake Bridgeport to prevent the other lakes to be low.
But 2013 is anything but a normal year. Today, what once was a scenic lake is
covered in chest high weeds. Boaters and fisherman enjoy going to Lake
Bridgeport during the summer. But in the summer of 2013 the boat ramps were
unusable so the number of residents going to the lake dropped. There are dead fish
floating to the shoreline as well as many other wildlife animals. The lake tested
positive for Zebra Mussel larva, which is shell like creatures that are very sharp
and stick to boats, anchors and docks. The Mussels are very dangerous for the lake
environment, but they also eat bacteria so they could help the lake water clear up. If
no water is drained out of Lake Bridgeport then the residents of Eagle Mountain Lake
and Lake Worth could possibly run out of drinking water.
Problem: The Lake is the place to be on a hot summer day, but how is it supposed to
be any fun when the lake is drying up each day.
Pax Roman A Time Of Peace And Learning
Research paper: Pax Romana Rome s Golden Age, often called the Pax Romana ,
was a time of peace and learning after the ongoing wars with neighboring barbarians,
and civil wars. During this time of peace, the Romans greatly expanded their
commerce and also refine their art. With peace, the romans spent less time focusing
on war and more time focusing on the arts. History remembers the legendary Roman
legions as the one of the most deadly and successful fighting forces in the ancient
world. Even today, stories of their great success and invincibility in the face of their
enemies are still known. At the height of their empire, the Romans were able to
conquer a vast empire that stretched over three continents and maintain t power for
centuries over the Mediterranean Sea. The key to Rome s military success during the
Pax Romana was the advanced military innovations that the Romans incorporated into
its great army that included military bureaucracy, advanced battle tactics and military
technology.
The Pax Romana was a time of relative peace during the Roman Empire. Although
there were small conflicts during The Pax Romana it was generally known as a time
of prosperity and expansion for Rome, mainly under the leadership of Emperor
Augustus and Tiberius who successfully expanded borders and made peace with
neighboring barbarians. Pax Romana is Latin for peaceful Rome. It lasted from 27
BC to 180 AD, from the end of the Republican Civil wars to the death of Marcus
Aurelious.
Essay on On Roman Military Matters by Vegetius
On Roman Military Matters, commonly referred to as De Re Militari, by Flavius
Vegetius Renatus is essentially a field manual focusing on Roman military
organization and how to field an army in a time of war. Vegetius discusses not only
the development of the Roman soldier, from recruitment to final training, but also the
organization, weaponry, strategy and tactics employed by the Romans legions.
Though Vegetius, through evidence, had no military background or experience, and
it is unclear on what evidence he based his argument, he accurately and in great detail
described the structure of the Military of the late Roman Empire. Vegetius was an
author of the 5th Century Roman Empire with only two surviving works, De Re
Militari and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the recruit failed the examination, a ceremony that Vegetius fails to describe, a
better candidate would replace them. Initial training, according to the author,
consisted of marching, running, jumping and swimming. Vegetius placed great
importance on what seem like basic human actions and believed that those skills
were essential in the development of a fit soldier. Following the initial training,
levies were outfitted and trained on the use of the primary Roman weaponry, the
short sword, javelins, bow, sling, and introduced to the wear of the requisite Roman
armor. Vegetius concluded with the subsequent training of the soldiers in order to
sustain their level of readiness. The author contended that his purpose for Book I
was to point out methods required to field a good and serviceable army and
discussed that some nations lost their sense of military discipline and that fact
caused their downfall on the battlefield. In Book II The Organization of the Legion,
Vegetius described the composition of the Roman legions. He began with the
explanation of the differences between legions and auxiliaries, legions being Romans
and auxiliaries being drawn from barbarians. Here, Vegetius discussed the decay of
the legion and stated that it was up to the eEmperor to restore the Roman army to
greatness, a

Concept Analysis On Pain And Pain
Concept Analysis on Pain
Introduction
Pain is one of the most common challenging complains by patients. Pain in general is
a very uncomfortable feeling. Studies have shown that pain can affect the quality of
life of individuals (Ferrel, 1995). Over 100 million Americans suffer from chronic
pain. This is the kind of pain that lasts for more then 6 months. It can be mild or
excruciating pain (Ratini, 2014). Nurse researchers have spent the last 30 years trying
to study pain management using both pain measurements and outcomes of pain.
Some studies have even shown that pain is not completely controlled even with
pharmacological agents (Wells, Pasero, McCaffery, 2008). Pain that is not managed
adequately can lead to adverse physical and psychological patient outcomes, for
patients and their families (Wells, Pasero, McCaffery, 2008).
Background
A person encompasses various types of pain throughout their life cycle, from birth to
the end of life. Pain experiences may include acute and chronic pain, pain from
chronic conditions, or pain as a symptom of a patient receiving palliative care. Pain is
not just physiological but can be emotional, psychosocial, or even spiritual. Due to
the multiple advances in pain management. Nurses can have inadequate information
about pain management (Board of Nursing, 2001). Pain management is a vital part of
nursing. It is part is the 5th vital sign that nurses assess when they take their vital

Each year, the Totonacs were forced to send hundreds of children to the altars of
Tenochtitlan, a city within the Aztec empire, for sacrifice, therefore their hatred was

Exploration Vs Reformation Research Paper
Exploration shaped the world and had a stronger reflection of the Renaissance
worldview than Reformation. Both had used the printing press as an advantage to get
their message and information across the world. Although, exploration was more of
priority during the Renaissance, because of the desire of learning new things and
more curiosity among people, and Reformation had been religion based which was
not a main focus during the Renaissance.
Discovering new things and places played an important in people s worldview.
During the Renaissance people focused on curiosity and learning new things, which
is exactly what exploration is. When Christopher Columbus had discovered a new
land, America, for Europeans, he had brought back ideas and ways of life from the
Native Americans, which he thought were Indians. He had thought he had sailed to
India, but ended up on America, where no European had been before. New products,
food and other things were introduced to Europe, Africa and Asia from America.

The spread of Protestantism was only throughout Europe and did not go to the
other continents; America, South America, Asia and Africa. A man named Martin
Luther, began the Protestant Reformation because of his want to separate from the
Catholic Church, and by using the printing press, got his ideas to most parts of
Europe. Princes and leaders did not want to be controlled by the Catholic Church
and the Pope, so they joined Luther s Protestantism. By creating another branch of
Christianity did change some people s worldviews who believed it, but did not
affect the whole world. During the Renaissance Era one of the major shifts was
becoming more curious and exploring new things, and moved away from religion
being a major priority in life. The Protestant Reformation had only changed one part
of the world and did not impact as many people s worldviews as
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Primary Education
Education is required in Ireland for children between the ages of 6 and 16.
Children usually attend primary school from the ages of 4 to 12 years old. The
overall aim of primary education is to enable children to live a full life as a child
and to realise their potential as an individual. The school environment will likewise
help the child to develop as a social being through living and co operating with others
and above all to prepare the child for future learning. There were a number of
definitions available around the term educational disadvantage. The action plan
created by the Forum on Primary Education, Primary Education 2002, raised some
issues relating to the definition of educational disadvantage which included the
absence of a broadly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The benefits of parental involvement in education have been used by many people in
educational research and there is widespread agreement that parental involvement is
important when dealing with educational difficulties faced by Irish travellers. There
was a strong demand for parental involvement in schools which was obvious in the
evaluation report where it was recommended that each school develop and enforce a
policy to encourage involvement by parents in the life of schools and this policy was
developed in discussion with the parents and be sensitive to the cultural
characteristics of the traveller community (Department of Education and Science,
2003). According to Henderson and Berla, the most accurate predictor of a student s
achievement in school is not income or social status but the extent to which that
student s family is able to create a home environment that encourages learning and to
express high expectations for their children s achievement and future careers they
will also become involved in their children s education at school and in the
community (Henderson and Berla, 1994). They reviewed and

Statement of Purpose
God would laugh when human beings think, a popular saying goes like this. I don t
know how much truth there is in this saying, but if human beings stop thinking, they
will be no long called human beings, will they? I recall this popular saying when I m
writing the present statement because it is my incessant thinking that has been
inspiring my thirst for and persevering pursuit of knowledge. It is through this pursuit
that I have been tempering myself and adding value to my life.
Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by the way things work, from
dismantling and maintaining my own bike to modelling a lift for apartments as a part
of a science exhibition; my curiosity was directed at unravelling the functioning of
devices. Egged on by my parents and teachers and my innate predilection for science

subjects like Operation Research, Engineering management, Automobile engineering,
Total Quality Management, Process planning and cost estimation, Marketing

outside the realm of my syllabus. These not only enhanced my learning but also
reflected in my excellent academic grades.
During the last year of my engineering, I had selected project of Modelling and

main target of that project was to optimize material selection cost of turbine blade
for different operating temperature. For that I had undergone training of Creo and

Three Eras Research Paper
The general accepted divisions of our earths are the eon, era, period, epoch, and age,
the two highest levels are the Phanerozoic and Precambrian. The Phanerozoic are
made of three types of era, they are, Cenozoic, Mesozoic, and Paleozoic. The
Precambrian is only made up of three era, they are, Hadean, Archean, and Proterozoic.
The first one that came first to start the earthwas the Precambrian. The Hadean Eon

Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 and died on November 28, 1994. From
behind closed doors, it seemed like Dahmer lived a pretty regular life, but little did
people know, he was good at hiding secrets. Jeffrey Dahmer murdered seventeen
young men in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, and will go down in history as one of
the most notorious killers of all time.
According to most people, nothing to insane happened in Dahmer s early
childhood. He was more quiet than most students in his class and could be
considered an outcast. Jeffery didn t seem to care about regular hobbies or any kind
of interactions with other people from age 10 15. Dahmer was very interested in
dead animals. He would ride his bike around the neighborhood picking up roadkill ...

The things he would do to his victims became increasingly more disturbing such as
necrophilia and injecting their brain with acid or boiling water. Jeffrey Dahmer
met a man named Tracy Edwards who was 31 years old at the time. Jeffrey tried to
force Edwards into the bedroom, and a fight broke out. Dahmer had a butcher
knife but Tracy managed to get free and run out into the street. Oddly enough,
Tracy happened to wave down a cop car and told them about the incident. Edwards
showed the cops where the knife was, and while searching Dahmer s apartment,
police found pictures of dead bodies which lead to the arrest of Jeffrey Dahmer (
Jeffrey Dahmer ).
What officers found in Jeffrey Dahmer s apartment was completely disturbing. All
kinds of body parts were found throughout the home, including, hands, heads, and
different organs. Skulls were placed around the apartment as decoration, as other
skulls were found in the refrigerator (Weston 50).
On January 30th, 1992, Jeffrey Dahmer was found not guilty to 17 murder charges
because of his insanity. Trial took place, and Dahmer was charged with 15 different

more concern about risk come from HFT in China s equity market. Though, some

Pissarro
By 1880 the Impressionist idiom had been fully developed and Pissarro, in his
constant quest for new forms of discipline and inspiration, turned his attention to
drawing. The present work is an iconic example from the artist s most prolific
decade of graphic output; from 1880 to 1890 he would produce nearly three quarters
of his graphic oeuvre, using his drawings as a tool to explore form and line while
incorporating Neo Impressionist techniques into his painted work.
Les Glaneuses (The Gleaners) is a compendium of Pissarro s treatment of pastoral
life, relating directly to the seminal painting of the same name (1887 1889). While
the painted work is Neo Impressionist in its treatment of tone, its texture is made up
of a discrete series of dots, dashes and commas, anticipating that Pissarro would soon
abandon the common aesthetic doctrine outlined by Seurat and Signac (see fig. 1). ...

executed in a combination of media. According to Richard Thomson, the present

Blueback Novel Essay
Blueback Essay
In novels, characters are used to help the author show the way they are constructed.
It is evident in the novel Blueback, by Tim Winton (1997), the construction of
characters are what Winton uses to communicate the ideas that Abel is passionate
about the sea, Abel fights for what he believes in and that Abel is loyal to his friends
and family. These ideas are easily found, through narrative point of view and dialogue.
It is clear that the author must deliver, character construction to any reader.
Through the novel, Winton has written that Abel is passionate bout the sea. Abel is a
natural diver at Longboat Bay and loves being underwater ever since he could
remember. Winton as used third person narrative point of view... Show more content

It is clear that Abel is very determined to fight for it whether people don t agree.
Even, if it is the wrong thing to do he will do it as long as he believes. Abel is
creatively constructed to fight for what he believes in.
It is evident in Blueback, that Abel is very loyal to his family and friends. You can
see how Abel is kind and caring to his mother, Dora and how he is loving to his wife,
Stella, when he is older. Through the novel you can also see that he has a very
large friendship with Blueback. When Abel s mother could not walk He cradled
her in his arms laid her back and let her float against him in the clear, blue water. This
is how Abel was loyal to his mother. Abel is loyal to his friend Blueback, when
Winton says, Abel swam with Blueback every chance he had. Abel is loyal to
Blueback by how he is so very excited to swim with it and feed it, When his mother
is frail, he is ever so caring to move her places because she can t get up. It is found in
the novel, Blueback that Abel is very loyal to his friends and family.
It is clear that Winton has used character construction through Abel by the way he
acts and his dialogue. Winton has developed Abel to be passionate for the sea,
being able to fight for what he believes in and to be loyal to his friends and family.
My opinion about the novel, Blueback is that these ideas are very true in it. Winton

Major Prophets Research Paper on Jeremiah
The Man Jeremiah and his Mission: The Prophet Jeremiah, son of Hilkiah, was of
the priesthood race, and a native of Anathoth, a village in the tribe of Benjamin,
within a few miles of Jerusalem, which had been appointed for the use of the
priests, the descendants of Aaron. He was called to the prophetic office when very
young; probably when he was fourteen years of age, and in the thirteenth of the reign
of Josiah, 629 BC. He continued to prophesy till after the destruction of Jerusalem by
the Chaldeans, and about two years afterwards till he died in Egypt. The name
Jeremiah translated from the Hebrew word yirmeyahu, means Jehovah throws. In

Jeremiah s Ministry: The ministry of Jeremiah really belonged to the last 18 years of
Josiah s reign. Judah s probation was then going on, her salvation still possible;
though each year Judah s guilt became heavier, her condemnation became more
certain. However, to the eye of man, her punishment seemed more remote than ever.
Jehoiakim was the willing vassal of Egypt, the supreme power. No wonder that,
being an irreligious man, he scorned all of Jeremiah s predictions of utter and early
ruin. It is no wonder that he destroyed Jeremiah s scroll, as merely the record of the
outpourings of mere fanaticism. It was his last chance, his last offer of mercy: and
as he threw the torn fragments of the scroll onto the fire, he symbolically threw
there his royal house, his doomed city, the Temple, and all the people of the land. It
was in this fourth year of Jehoiakim that Jeremiah boldly foretold the greatness of
Nebuchadnezzar s empire, and the wide limits over which it would extend. This
prophecy Jer. 25 placed his life in danger, so that the Lord hid him and Baruch. When
Jeremiah appears again, Nebuchadnezzar was advancing upon Jerusalem to execute
the prophecy contained in. In addition, with the death of Jehoiakim, the first period of
Judah s history was brought to a close. Though Jeremiah remained with Zedekiah, and
tried to influence him for good, yet Jeremiah s mission was over. Jeremiah himself

Theist Arguments Against God
Theism and Evil
Arguments against God and His existence have been a constant occurrence
throughout history. From the beginning of time there have always been people that
rebel against God and argue against the fiber of his existence. There are many
naturalists who argue against God and whether or not he exists or is present in the
world. These ideas and arguments are based on the reality of evil and clearly deviate
from God s word of scripture. There are theists who have opposing arguments against
these naturalists. These theists believe in the existence of God and believe that he is
present in the world and in the lives of people. The naturalist argument against God
and the arguments of theist have always been constantly debated with and against ...

According to Tom Morris who wrote Philosophy for Dummies , He says that evil
is like a very dark shadow that hides and prevents many modern day intellectuals
from being and to see and embrace any version or idea of the theistic vision as a
whole. The idea of evil creates the knowledge that there is no God that can
possibly exists out there in the world but contrary to that belief Theists claim there
is a God that created the world and that perfect being is not only watching over us
but has full control and rule over the universe. There is much expectation for
theists to uphold this believe of the existence of God. Naturalist constantly
question and test with these solid arguments against it. We know that God is there
and that he exists but we need to learn to have strong argument to defend against
these claims. Stronger questions of why bad things happen in the world can test
and we question how we are supposed to explain it and why they happen. There are
other claims against theism that Morris spoke of. If there is a God why is there
evil in the world? Since there is evil there is no God. These are strong arguments in
the opinion of the naturalists and can be hard questions to answer but God is the
ruler over everything and has control over all things. Like the saying goes no pain no
gain. Morris gave some important points and answers referring to

Summary Of The Most Dangerous GameAndPorphyria s
Lover
IntroFrom the beginning men used God to justify the unjustifiable. Salman Rushdie,
The Satanic Verses. Salman Rushdie points are truly stated and are seen in literature
work. The two stories The Most Dangerous Game and Porphyria s Lover , both
portray the characters, General Zaroff and Porphyria s Lover, as murderers who think
they have done nothing wrong. The authors Connell and Browning use conflict and
characterization to convey that some find it easy to justify murder.
DP 1Through the use of external conflict between Zaroff and Rainsford s hunting
prowess, and Porphyria s Lover strangling Porphyria, the authors show how each can
easily justify murder.
Rainsford, the main character, fell off his boat and swam ashore a mysterious
island. When he arrived he came across a fortress of sorts, and meet the man
incharge, General Zaroff. Zaroff is talking to Rainsford about his past and the island
he lives on. Zaroff tells Rainsford about his hunting experiences when he says
Hunting was beginning to bore me! And hunting, remember, had been my life(33).
This is when Zaroff s internal conflict arises, suffers from ennui in hunting and wants
something more of a challenge to kill. He has been hunting for as long as he can
remember and every beast he has faced, he overcame and killed it, until there was no
animal he couldn t kill. This is what caused Zaroff to want a challenge, something that
. must have courage, cunning and, above all, it must be able to reason.

these relationships becoming states of danger for militant and partners. Either
communities no longer feel safe, which results in rationalization or withdrawal from
the battles of war and love. Through the ending of a toxic situation,
World Religions Dbq Essay
More than three quarters of the world are following a religion, we as human beings
use religions as a way of answering the unexplainable questions in life like what
happens after we die. What s similar between these religions even though they re so

Collaborative Learning As A Teacher Student Relationship
Collaborative Learning
Collaborative learning is a situation in which learners attempt to learn together. The
people involved in collaborative learning capitalize on one another s skills and
resources. Under these circumstances, they share information, monitor each other s
work, and evaluate ideas together. Each participant is accountable to the rest of the
learners (Bruffee 636). The learning can be online, chart rooms, or face to face, and
may involve group projects, collaborative writing, debates, joint problem solving, and
study teams (Bruffee 638). In essence, collaborative learning redefines the traditional
learning paradigm in which learning was a teacher student relationship.
Collaboration can be used in various situations to enhance a student s ability to
learn. One way in which collaborative learning can be used is in group projects.
Group projects help learners develop skills that are increasingly important in the
professional world. Positive group projects enhance students learning, retention, and
success of the entire group and school (Bruffee 640). Working on a project in
collaboration fosters the student s ability to manage time, break complex tasks into
smaller parts, challenge assumptions, and develop stronger communication skills.
The overall benefits of group projects include; pooling of knowledge and skills,
holding all members accountable, developing approaches to problem solving,
tackling projects that cannot be tacked by individuals, and finding the
Federal Deficit And The National Debt
This paper is about the last 15 years of the federal deficit and the national debt, as
well as examination their relationship. This paper also looks at how the deficit is
created and dealt with, along with what happens to different areas of the economy
when the deficit s size changes. Lastly this paper covers who owns the national debt,
how these people are paid off, and the interest rate of the debt.
Federal Budget Deficit with a sprinkle if National Debt (1, 2, 3) The federal budget
deficit and the national debt are two different things, but are connected in a
parasitic way. The federal budget deficit is when the government spends more than
in receives; it is also a flow value, meaning that the amount of the deficit is
something that occurs over time (Miller, 2014). The deficit for the past 15 years is
shown in Appendix A, and the deficit is the host, not the parasite. The national debt
however is the parasite, and it is known as the total value of all federal government
deficits minus the amount that the government has repaid. The debt is also a stock
value, or something measured at an exact point in time, and its last 15 years appears
in Appendix B (Miller, 2014). The reason why the deficit and debt are in a parasitic
relationship is because the budget deficit can exist without the debt, like a host does
not need a parasite, but the debt cannot live without the deficit. The federal budget
deficit comes into existence when the government spends more than it earns

later years were his best. Wallace Stevens will always be remembered as one of the
great modernist American Poets. Wallace Stevens ability to transcend the limits of
experience, combined with his technical prowess as a poet, makes for
otherworldly poetry of the everyday world. You can see this in his poem simply
titled Anecdote of the Jar . On first glance, this poem seems insignificant and not
very interesting but if you look at it closely the beauty shines through. The poem
can seem dry and boring when he describes the jar, And round it was... the jar was
gray and bare (lines 2 and 10). Even though these lines might seem boring it is part
of Stevens Imagist poetry style that stressed absolute precision in presenting the
image itself rather than oblique description. Another interesting aspect of Stevens
poetry is that it can be perceived multiple ways. The jar was round upon the ground
/ And tall and of port in the air. This line could be read as the jar being round, tall,
and large; or the port could be a metaphor comparing the jar and air to the port and
sea, a passage way (lines 7 8). It (the jar) did not give of bird or bush. The line could

Analysis Of The Poem Bacchus Discovering Ariadne
Jacob Jordaens, Bacchus Discovering Ariadne, late 1640 s
This painting that I have found while venturing the Museum of Fine Arts has
definitely caught my eye for infinite reasons. Bacchus Discovering Ariadne by Jacob
Jordaens was definitely a painting that has a story, but the thing is, there isn t much
about it, which is a challenge. Most of the focus in this painting is set on Ariadne and
the meeting between her and Bacchus. Not only that but the painting, and all other
paintings associated with this myth, focus on the shift from divine perfection to
humanity that is found in Renaissance and Baroque artwork. The oil painting made
by Jacob Jordaens tells the story of Ariadne, the princess of Crete, being deserted on
the Island of Naxos by Theseus, the Athenian prince who she helped escape from
her father s labyrinth. Bacchus, whom is the god of wine, and his satyrs discover
her, and he falls in love with Ariadne. As a testimony of his devotion he holds up her
crown, which he will then toss into the heavens to create a constellation in her honor.
In this painting he shows Ariadne as an extremely feminine figure that s not only fair
but regarded as beautiful The body of Bacchus is sculpted showing the muscles in his
legs and throughout the rest of his body. But the contrast in this painting is striking.
The contrast of this painting lies between the structural elements of Bacchus and of
the three satyrs that have accompanied him. These satyrs are in dim lighting and less
The First Year Of The Magna
Being the 800th anniversary year of the Magna Carta the debate of whether or not it
is time for the UK to adopt a written constitution has resurfaced, paving way for
contrasting arguments relating to the need for modernisation in the 21st century,
against the need to retain tradition. It must be mentioned that for the purposes of this
discussion the term unwritten is in the context that the UK constitution is not
recorded onto a single codified document. While not presented onto a single
document the constitution is written , and as appropriately stated by Lord Scarman
today our constitution is not unwritten but hard and difficult to find . Currently, the

statues which is rather inaccessible to the average citizen and the rest deriving from
tradition and so is considered to be common knowledge . With a written constitution
key constitutional rules can be collected onto a single document and clarified
allowing for better accessibility to the masses. A future written constitution would
need to be inclusive and not one that only parliamentarians and legal experts are able
to decipher, and ultimately could bring the government and the governed closer
together4 much like the effect that the 5th amendment has had on American citizens.
On the contrary, the charm and appeal of the current UK constitution may be lost in
removing it s archaic traditions by adopting a modernised approach. The mantra of
if it isn t broken, don t fix it is often the line of reasoning for many when debating
against a written constitution for a traditional and conservative Britain. Professor
Barber contended Britain s constitution has, by and large, been a success as is has
produced stable government and
Rickets Essay
In the mid sixteenth century Rickets, a bone deforming disease was first described
by F. Glisson in children who started to migrate to city centers due to industrial
revolution1. The implication of exposure to the sunlight in the prevention and
cure of this disease was first recognized by Sniadecki in 1822 2. Later these
observations were extended by Palm in 1890 who concluded that rickets in
children was due to the lack of sun exposure and promoted the systemic use of sun
baths to prevent rickets3. Although cod liver oil has been used medicinally for a
long time, D scheutte in 1824 was the first to recommend it for the treatment of
rickets4. In 1906 Hopkins postulated the presence of essential dietary factors
necessary for the cure of diseases such as scurvy or rickets5. The concept that... Show

He proposed that exposure to UV radiation was effective against all forms of rickets
in children. The most surprising observation was made by three different laboratories
in 1924 where Goldblatt and Soames, Hess and Weinstock exposed variety of food,
such as wheat, lettuce, olive, linseed oil and other substances like human and rat
plasma to ultraviolet radiation. Both groups found that the ultraviolet radiation
imparted antirachitic activity of the substances9 11. Working with the animal
experiment, Steenbock and Black in 1916 found a strong connection between sunlight
and calcium retention in goats12. With this background, Steenbock began to irradiate
rats, their food and the air in their cages with UV light13. He concluded that an
inactive lipid in the diet and skin could be converted by UV light into an active
antirachitic substance and patented this process. He recommended that irradiation of
milk might be an excellent method to provide vitamin D to children and to prevent
Senior Companion Program Summary
Butler (2206) suggests an evaluation instrument that directors of the Senior
Companion Program (SCP) and other similar programs can use to collect data on
the impact of their programs. This instrument consists of two open ended questions
for both SCP volunteers and their clients, and two standardized measures: the
Lubben Social Network Scale (LSN A) quantifies a client s contact and support;
and the Center for Epidemological Studies Depression Scale (CES D) which
measures the frequency of depressive symptoms in the previous week (p.52). Butler
s (2006) evaluation tool is administered at intake and periodically over time to elicit
participants feedback on their experience with the program. One of the strengths of
this tool would be providing

Re: AmeriSouth XXXII, LTD., et al. v. Commissioner, 67 T.C. Memo. (2012)
FACTS
AmeriSouth XXXII, Ltd. acquired the Garden House Apartments in Mesquite, Texas
in 2003 for $10.25 million. According to its owner, Ruel Hamilton, AmeriSouth is a
general partner in about 50 partnerships, and AmeriSouth Texas established
AmeriSouth XXXII in 2003 to buy the aforementioned complex. The complex was
constructed in 1970, sits on over 16 acres of land with more than 40 buildings. Mr.
Hamilton also owns AmeriSouth Management, L.P., which is responsible for the
maintenance of a portion of the complexes.
Roughly 70 of the 366 units are fully furnished. Even those units ... Show more

s depreciable basis to site preparation and earthwork, depreciable over 15 years as a
land improvement is allowable because it is a site development, but nowhere does it
describe what work is included in this category. On the other hand, the Commissioner
s expert claims that work papers show the expenses relate to the initial clearing and
grubbing (i.e., tree removal) of the land which occurred before the apartments
construction in 1970.
Furthermore, the Commissioner states that clearing and grubbing are not depreciable
because they are not subject to wear and tear and generally make the land more
valuable. Reg В§1.167(a) 2. Tangible property states the depreciation allowance in
the case of tangible property applies only to that part of the property which is
subject to wear and tear, to decay or decline from natural causes, to exhaustion, and
to obsolescence. The allowance does not apply to inventories or stock in trade, or to
land apart from the improvements
Food Bank Use in Canada
Food Bank Use in Canada
According to Food Banks Canada, food bank usage has soared to 28% in the past
three years, with more than 850,000 Canadians making use of a food bank in a
typical year (Ontario
Healthy Communities Coalition, March 2012). One of the biggest contributors to
why individuals depend on food banks is their social economic status of lower class
and poverty. Although this is a big contributor, there are many more major social
determinants that contribute to food bank usage outside of social economic status
designation. I believe the other three most important determinants that contribute to
usage of food banks are education, employment/working conditions and physical
/social environment.
The different levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though socio economic status is a huge determinant of food bank usage, I
believe that education, employment/working conditions and physical/social
environment are also contributing determinants for this case. Food banks are initially
started to help those in need, but
I believe that federal and provincial governments should furthermore improve
economic growth to increase the likely hood of individuals п¬Ѓnding and sustaining
a full time job. With this change, increased employment would help reduce the use of
food banks and improve the quality of life of individuals.

Leadership Essays.pdf

  • 1. Leadership Essays Crafting an essay on the subject of leadership can be both challenging and rewarding. The intricacies lie not only in presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also in capturing the elusive essence of effective leadership. The difficulty arises from the broad scope of the topic, encompassing various leadership styles, theories, and personal experiences. To create a compelling essay, one must delve into the theoretical frameworks of leadership, exploring concepts such as transformational, transactional, situational, and servant leadership. This requires a deep understanding of the nuances that distinguish each style and the ability to articulate how these styles manifest in real-world scenarios. Moreover, leadership is a dynamic and evolving concept, shaped by cultural, social, and historical contexts. An effective essay on leadership should consider these factors and discuss how leaders navigate the complexities of their environments. Integrating relevant examples and case studies adds depth to the analysis, but the challenge lies in selecting the most pertinent and illustrative examples. Furthermore, addressing the personal aspect of leadership can be particularly challenging. Sharing personal experiences and reflections requires a delicate balance between vulnerability and professionalism. Striking this balance is crucial to establishing a connection with the reader while maintaining the academic integrity of the essay. In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on leadership demands a comprehensive understanding of leadership theories, the ability to analyze real-world examples, and the skill to weave personal experiences into a coherent narrative. It is a task that requires not only academic prowess but also a nuanced understanding of the human aspects of leadership. Despite its challenges, successfully navigating this complexity can result in a powerful and insightful essay. • 2. The Effects Of Traffic Congestion Traffic congestion in the United States is becoming increasingly salient to citizens, private companies, and government actors. Traffic congestion, particularly on major highways and interstates, increases with economic development and production. First, as the economy develops, workers income rises. Public transportation is an inferior good in that a person s demand for it decreases as their income rises. Thus, as workers in a growing economy gain income, they begin to purchase vehicles, which leads to more drivers on the roads (Road Congestion). A second way in which economic growth affects traffic congestionis through business and other urban development. As a city s borders expand with new businesses and residential areas, the amount of people increases quickly, while new infrastructure to sustain them follows slowly behind in a dragging effect. To worsen the problem, these new businesses have new employees who travel on the same roads at the same time of day, which further leads to congestion during peak hours (Winaisathaporn). It is important to understand that traffic congestions are more than an annoyance to the daily commuter, but a huge negative externality on society. A negative externality is a cost imposed on a person due to the productivity or actions of another person. As established, congestion is directly caused by economic development by the government and private firms. But what does traffic congestion cost us? An article summarizing results from the

In our community, we take things for granted and not worry about the importance of helping others. The unfortunate people living in the streets have passed through difficult times and appreciate small or big things. Homeless is a person without a home, and therefore typically living on the streets. Some homeless people have become abusive of drugs, alcohol, and other different type of drugs. Homelessnessis a major problem in our society. Homelessness contaminates our city, makes our city look dirty, and it is priority to fix this problem. To begin, homelessness contaminates our city and spreads diseases like Hepatitis A, HIV/AIDS of sexually transmitted infections, virus and Tuberculosis. For example, when the unhoused go to the public bathroom, sometimes they do not clean themselves or wash their hands. Homeless contaminate our city by littering on the ground with plastic, foil, and other types of things that contaminate. To include, when my family and I pass through the Angels Stadium in Anaheim I see that there are numerous homeless people that are contaminating our environment with plenty of diseases. As a matter of fact, the author states, his shoes were torn; he had rough hands that lay upon his knees; and his hand was palm up. No one seemed to pay him any attention and he begs for money. Because he is filthy, most likely he is carrying bacteria that may cause diseases. In my community, near the riverbed you can tell that the homeless leave their feces

New Mexico identifies truancy as having occurred after the fifth unexcused absence according to the New Mexico Public Education Department (2014). Earning credit is defined as the successful completion of classes. Students must meet a minimum number of credits each year to advance to the next grade level. Students who do not earn credit for a course will either have to repeat the class or take credit recovery courses online after school or during summer school, which can be costly and time consuming. The independent variables in this study are the intervention program and the judicial involvement. The dependent variable is the attendance of the two groups of sample students during the second semester of school, after they have either attended intervention or been processed by the court system. Literature Review This research study seeks to ascertain whether a credit recovery intervention program will impact students with truancy issues and credit loss to help prevent further loss of credits. If the program proves to be effective on a local scale, its model could be studied further and applied to other districts. This review of literature will describe examples of current research which will define the concerns that accompany truancy and previous attempts at intervention for the students affected by this issue. There is a spillway that takes water through the Trinity River to Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth. This year has been a rough year for Lake Bridgeport with three digit temperatures and draining water to the other lakes. Since one of the purposes to build Lake Bridgeport was for storage, The Tarrant County water district approved to let out 20,000 acre feet of water from Lake Bridgeport to prevent the other lakes to be low. But 2013 is anything but a normal year. Today, what once was a scenic lake is covered in chest high weeds. Boaters and fisherman enjoy going to Lake Bridgeport during the summer. But in the summer of 2013 the boat ramps were unusable so the number of residents going to the lake dropped. There are dead fish floating to the shoreline as well as many other wildlife animals. The lake tested positive for Zebra Mussel larva, which is shell like creatures that are very sharp and stick to boats, anchors and docks. The Mussels are very dangerous for the lake environment, but they also eat bacteria so they could help the lake water clear up. If no water is drained out of Lake Bridgeport then the residents of Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth could possibly run out of drinking water. Problem: The Lake is the place to be on a hot summer day, but how is it supposed to be any fun when the lake is drying up each day.

Princes and leaders did not want to be controlled by the Catholic Church and the Pope, so they joined Luther s Protestantism. By creating another branch of Christianity did change some people s worldviews who believed it, but did not affect the whole world. During the Renaissance Era one of the major shifts was becoming more curious and exploring new things, and moved away from religion being a major priority in life. The Protestant Reformation had only changed one part of the world and did not impact as many people s worldviews as

Children usually attend primary school from the ages of 4 to 12 years old. The overall aim of primary education is to enable children to live a full life as a child and to realise their potential as an individual. The school environment will likewise help the child to develop as a social being through living and co operating with others and above all to prepare the child for future learning. There were a number of definitions available around the term educational disadvantage. The present work is an iconic example from the artist s most prolific decade of graphic output; from 1880 to 1890 he would produce nearly three quarters of his graphic oeuvre, using his drawings as a tool to explore form and line while incorporating Neo Impressionist techniques into his painted work. Les Glaneuses (The Gleaners) is a compendium of Pissarro s treatment of pastoral life, relating directly to the seminal painting of the same name (1887 1889). The authors Connell and Browning use conflict and characterization to convey that some find it easy to justify murder. DP 1Through the use of external conflict between Zaroff and Rainsford s hunting prowess, and Porphyria s Lover strangling Porphyria, the authors show how each can easily justify murder. Rainsford, the main character, fell off his boat and swam ashore a mysterious island. When he arrived he came across a fortress of sorts, and meet the man incharge, General Zaroff. Zaroff is talking to Rainsford about his past and the island he lives on. Zaroff tells Rainsford about his hunting experiences when he says Hunting was beginning to bore me! The people involved in collaborative learning capitalize on one another s skills and resources. Under these circumstances, they share information, monitor each other s work, and evaluate ideas together. Each participant is accountable to the rest of the learners (Bruffee 636). The learning can be online, chart rooms, or face to face, and may involve group projects, collaborative writing, debates, joint problem solving, and study teams (Bruffee 638). In essence, collaborative learning redefines the traditional learning paradigm in which learning was a teacher student relationship. This paper also looks at how the deficit is created and dealt with, along with what happens to different areas of the economy when the deficit s size changes. Lastly this paper covers who owns the national debt, how these people are paid off, and the interest rate of the debt. Federal Budget Deficit with a sprinkle if National Debt (1, 2, 3) The federal budget deficit and the national debt are two different things, but are connected in a parasitic way. The federal budget deficit is when the government spends more than in receives; it is also a flow value, meaning that the amount of the deficit is something that occurs over time (Miller, 2014). The deficit for the past 15 years is shown in Appendix A, and the deficit is the host, not the parasite. The national debt however is the parasite, and it is known as the total value of all federal government deficits minus the amount that the government has repaid. The debt is also a stock value, or something measured at an exact point in time, and its last 15 years appears in Appendix B (Miller, 2014). The reason why the deficit and debt are in a parasitic relationship is because the budget deficit can exist without the debt, like a host does not need a parasite, but the debt cannot live without the deficit. The federal budget deficit comes into existence when the government spends more than it earns

Most of the focus in this painting is set on Ariadne and the meeting between her and Bacchus. Not only that but the painting, and all other paintings associated with this myth, focus on the shift from divine perfection to humanity that is found in Renaissance and Baroque artwork. The oil painting made by Jacob Jordaens tells the story of Ariadne, the princess of Crete, being deserted on the Island of Naxos by Theseus, the Athenian prince who she helped escape from her father s labyrinth. Bacchus, whom is the god of wine, and his satyrs discover her, and he falls in love with Ariadne. As a testimony of his devotion he holds up her crown, which he will then toss into the heavens to create a constellation in her honor. In this painting he shows Ariadne as an extremely feminine figure that s not only fair but regarded as beautiful The body of Bacchus is sculpted showing the muscles in his legs and throughout the rest of his body. (2012) FACTS AmeriSouth XXXII, Ltd. acquired the Garden House Apartments in Mesquite, Texas in 2003 for $10.25 million. According to its owner, Ruel Hamilton, AmeriSouth is a general partner in about 50 partnerships, and AmeriSouth Texas established AmeriSouth XXXII in 2003 to buy the aforementioned complex. The complex was constructed in 1970, sits on over 16 acres of land with more than 40 buildings. Mr. Hamilton also owns AmeriSouth Management, L.P., which is responsible for the maintenance of a portion of the complexes. Roughly 70 of the 366 units are fully furnished. Even those units ... AmeriSouth argued that cost segregation study allocates $65,381 of Garden House s depreciable basis to site preparation and earthwork, depreciable over 15 years as a land improvement is allowable because it is a site development, but nowhere does it describe what work is included in this category. On the other hand, the Commissioner s expert claims that work papers show the expenses relate to the initial clearing and grubbing (i.e., tree removal) of the land which occurred before the apartments construction in 1970. Furthermore, the Commissioner states that clearing and grubbing are not depreciable because they are not subject to wear and tear and generally make the land more valuable. Reg В§1.167(a) 2. Tangible property states the depreciation allowance in the case of tangible property applies only to that part of the property which is subject to wear and tear, to decay or decline from natural causes, to exhaustion, and to obsolescence. The allowance does not apply to inventories or stock in trade, or to land apart from the improvements

Food Bank Use in Canada Food Bank Use in Canada According to Food Banks Canada, food bank usage has soared to 28% in the past three years, with more than 850,000 Canadians making use of a food bank in a typical year (Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition, March 2012). One of the biggest contributors to why individuals depend on food banks is their social economic status of lower class and poverty. Although this is a big contributor, there are many more major social determinants that contribute to food bank usage outside of social economic status designation. I believe the other three most important determinants that contribute to usage of food banks are education, employment/working conditions and physical /social environment. The different levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though socio economic status is a huge determinant of food bank usage, I believe that education, employment/working conditions and physical/social environment are also contributing determinants for this case. Food banks are initially started to help those in need, but I believe that federal and provincial governments should furthermore improve economic growth to increase the likely hood of individuals п¬Ѓnding and sustaining a full time job. With this change, increased employment would help reduce the use of food banks and improve the quality of life of individuals. References Daily Bread Food Bank. (2010).
