Loyalty In Antigone By Sophocles
In Antigone, Sophocles introduces the struggle between loyalty to civil law versus familial loyalty
and divine law, which is a central conflict in the play. Antigone has a firm belief in upholding
family values and honoring the gods and deceased by burying her brother. In contrast, Creon wants
to do what is best for the city which is, in his opinion, forbidding the burial of Polynices. Both
Antigoneand Creonbelieve that their point of view is more important, and neither is willing to
change perspective, causing the chain of destructive events in the plot. Loyalty causes the deadly
dispute between Antigone and Creon because of their conflicting perspectives about precedence.
Antigone has the strong belief that loyalty to the dead and to the gods has precedence over all
other opinions, specifically those of Creon. Antigone does not at all care that the one with all
governing power has the most disagreement with her decision to remain devoted to her family
below. Since I must please those below a longer time than the people here, for I shall lie there
forever (Sophocles16). She knows and understands that time in the mortal world has a limit,
however time in the underworld is eternal. Pleasing Creon and his belief to only stay true to civil
laws are of no concern to Antigone, for all she wants is to please her family below and the gods
above. An example of this is the burial of Polynices, because while it is right in Antigone s eyes,
Creon believes it is foolish and a sin

Sustainable Growth Rate: Apple
Background
Steve Wozniak and the late Steven Jobs founded a computer company in April 1, 1976, Apple
Computers Inc. becomes a global leader in the sector of computer and mobile technology
(Rawlinson, 2016). Today, the company specializes in a range of products including computer
hardware and software, consumer electronics, and provides digital distribution. With over 120
online stores, as well as worldwide retail stores in different countries, Apple continues to portray
commendable features of financial stability. The firm remains highly competitive relative to key
rivals as Samsung, Dell, and Acer. The study analyzes the financial position of Apple in the last
three years in terms of sustainable growth rate (SGR).
Sustainable growth rates: 2013 2016
The maximum growth rate that an organization is able to sustain without needing external
financing defines the term sustainable growth rate (investopedia.com, 2016). In this view, the
measurement of return on equity assumes that a firm s focus on maintaining a set capital
framework pertaining to debt and equity. Further, there is an assumption that the firm seeks to
increase revenues within its threshold, while maintaining a constant dividend payout ratio. The
SGR provides an account of the frequency at which a firm attains growth with its own equity,
without need for outside financing, and maintaining a self sustained

Walker s Controversy
Walker appreciates the dangers of the American/Soviet rivalry. He acknowledges its devastating
impact on Europe as the last and greatest of Europe s civil wars. Yet he also calls the Cold War a
in the end, a resilient and predictable system for the preservation of human civilization. Unlike
some recent commentators, he does not dismiss the Cold Waras some kind of colossal mistake that
one side or the other should have been prudent enough to avoid. The Soviet Unions collapse, he
argues, seems inevitable only in retrospect, and the West s fears of Soviet tyranny and expansion
were not unfounded. Throughout his study, Walker never loses sight of the fact that although the
Soviet Union and the West represented opposing ideologies, they employed... Show more content on

THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN is the author s response. His thesis is simple.
The failure of communism and the disappearance of the Soviet Union has resulted in the victory of
liberal democracy and capitalism. There are, he claims, no more challengers. Security and freedom
have been achieved, and consequently, history has ended.
THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN ignores the confusing events and details of
most history and is more philosophical, even teleological, in its orientation. The author states that
only liberal democracy and the market economy have satisfactorily provided what Plato claimed
to be necessary for happiness: the appetitive (food and sex), the reasoning (knowledge and truth),
and the need to be recognized as human. Hegel s concept of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis
explained the process of history, with liberal democracy as the final synthesis according to
Fukuyama. Marx, like Hegel, saw the world in a clash of evolving opposites, but while Marx
predicted that the triumph of communism would lead to the withering away of the state, Fukuyama
instead argues that with the victory of liberal democracy it is history that has

Three Denominations Of Christianity
Throughout the history, religions around the world have played an important part in establishing
beliefs and culture. Every area of the world has some kind of religion or belief system. There are
many different religions, some are huge and wide spread, some are small with a few people
following it, and some are very influential up to a point that, countries establish them as their state
religions. According to the Oxford Dictionary Religionis defined as the belief in and worship of a
superhuman controlling power, especially a personal Godor gods. However, it can be understood in
different ways. For someone it is a personal way of leading a lifestyle, while for others it is a tool
to control a large number of people. Also each person can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Christianity is about 2,000 years old, beginning around 30 CE with the death of Jesus Christ.
Over the centuries, Christianity has divided into vast amount of denominations, because some
Christians worship in different ways and believe in different parts of the Bible. According to
arabamericanmuseum.org, each denomination has its own distinctive beliefs or practices, but
they are generally considered a branch of mainstream Christianity if they agree on core
doctrines like the divinity of Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible. The three main largest
denominations of Christianity are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestant, with
Catholicism being the largest. Christians believe that there is only one god, but that there are
three elements of God, including the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They believe these are 3
forms of the same God, similar to how water can exist in 3 forms of liquid, gas and solid. They
also believe that 2,000 years ago in Israel, God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to earth to save humans
from the consequences of their sins. He gave his life by being crucified and on the third day
rose from the dead. Faith in Jesus Christ himself, not just in his teachings, is how the Christian
experiences joy and a meaningful life. Jesus claimed to be the God in human form, rather than
prophet who is pointing to God. He performed miracles, forgave people of their sin and said that
anyone who believed in him would have eternal life. He made statements like, I am the light of
the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
(biblehub.com ) The Christian holy book is called the Bible. It reveals God s personality, his love
and truth, and how each person can have a relationship with him. Whatever circumstances a
Christian is dealing with in their life, the Bible teaches that they can confidently turn to a wise and
powerful God who truly loves

they called it themselves. When they gave some but kept most for them they called it

equality, thus giving an equal number of points between themselves and their partners. For the last
study participants were told by the instructor that he was waiting for the participant s partner to

sets of individual tasks for different research departments. While waiting for their partner they

forty six seconds video of children in poverty. The second group watched forty six seconds of the
movie All the Presidents Men of two men quietly talking in the courtroom. After watching the video
they were asked to fill out a questionnaire about compassion. While filling out the questionnaire the

Comparing For The Sake Of The Song And Song Of Myself
For the Sake of the Song and Song of Myself share several key similarities, including a strong use of
figurative language, making a connection with humanity, and both are considered romantic poems.
Walt Whitman s poetry contains much figurative language and connections between individuals
and how they relate to the whole of society. Walt Whitmanand Townes Van Zandt both seem pretty
okay with death, as they talk about dying in their writings a lot and they both seem pretty
nonchalant about it. In For the Sake of the Song you can find metaphor, personification, assonance,
and many more forms of figurative language throughout the piece. The moon is an angel (L1) is a
perfect example of a metaphor, we all know the moon is an inanimate

Using The Group Membership Method Resemble Those Found By...
Results in the present study produced using the group membership method resemble those found
by Lusseau et al. (2003) in which the Doubtful Sound population could be divided into three sub
groups. The composition of groups however is somewhat different. This is in part due to different
individuals being present / alive during their study than in the current study. Where all individuals
present in both studies are placed across all three defined groups in Lusseau et al. s (2003) study,
all but Kringel fall into the same single group in the present study. This suggests that, while the
overall sub group structure may have been maintained over time, there is a degree of fluidity among
members of sub groups. This is the very nature of a fission fusion society, where group
composition is dynamic over time (Grellier et al. 2003). The three sub groups may be an apparently
permanent feature of the populationwhen using the group membership method, with the fission
fusion nature of bottlenose dolphins defining the composition of each group through time. It must
be noted however that Lusseau et al. s (2003) study was over a period of seven years, where 546
days were spent on the water. Due to the immense differences in field effort, direct comparisons are
made with caution. Previous pilot work, which spanned only 6 days, also yielded similar results
using the group membership method.

The Symbolism in “The Hills Like White Elephants” by...
The Hills Like White Elephants is a short story that is about an American man and a girl called
Jig. They are sitting at a table outside a train station, waiting for a train to Madrid. While they wait
they order drinks and have a heated ongoing conversation over whether or not Jig will have an
operation that would be of great significance to their relationship. The HillsLike White Elephants by
Ernest Hemingwayhas two important symbols in the story, the hills and the drinks both of which
help to give us a better understanding of what is going on between the American and his girl. The
story begins with a vivid description of a trainstation surrounded by hills and fields. This scene tells
us a lot about the couple s situation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The girl remarks that she and the American man never do anything together except try new
drinks. This can represent that their relationship is boring and mundane which seems to bother
the girl. These feelings can reflect that girl may be ready for change and a chance to settle down,
unlike the man who doesn t seem interested in changing his carefree ways. She also asks the man
permission for a drink and has to rely on him to order the drinks because of her inability to speak
Spanish. She appears disappointed that she is so dependent on the man and no matter what her
decision may be, their relationship will no longer be the same. After trying the new drink she
replies that Everything tastes like licorice. Especially all the things you ve waited so long for like
absinthe (Hemingway 655). Another symbolism that Jig is now feeling bittersweet about the
decision because she may want to have the baby, but the man s decision is to have the abortion.
At the end of their conversation, both are drinking alone, the girl at the table and the man at the bar
which can imply that their relationship my end by them going their separate ways. The Hills Like
White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway has many symbolisms throughout the story. Two important
symbols, the hills and the drinks give the reader insight into the intentions and emotions the
American man and the girl are going through as they are faced with a major

Decline Of Baseball Players
If the Major League baseball season were to end today, the Milwaukee Brewers would finish with
the third worst record in baseball. Come next June, the Brewers would be selecting one of the most
important players in the last ten years. If the brewers hit on their next prospect they could find
themselves back into contention, but if they fail, they could find themselves continuing to need to
rebuild.
Top prospects in baseball are more important than ever in today s game. For the past few years we

what baseball teams need to be successful. The Brewers are well on their way. They have a solid
bullpen with the 11th best bullpen era this season. Milwaukee s young pitching is quickly
improving too. The Brewers offense is currently in the exact middle for most offense categories
this season. This means, that the Brewers truly have not been as bad as most people believe, just a
little unlucky. The Brewers have actually scored more runs than the Cardinals with runners in

Cardinals. So while it seems that the Cardinals are worlds better than the Brewers, it is not the

Comparing Love In Her And Arthur Hiller s Love Story
I ve always had mixed feelings when it came to films about love. For me, the idea of love can be
presented is such a basic way it becomes obvious to what will happen next. Essentially, I get bored
with the same old generic portrayal on what love should look like or be. Spike Jonze s Her and
Arthur Hiller s LoveStory was such a refreshing take on how love can come in all forms and doesn
t need to follow a sort of guideline, like every other love filmseems to be. It was interesting to view
the contrast in the two films. Though very different, there were many aspects to the plot and the
characters Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) and Oliver (Ryan O Neal) that were notably similar. What I
loved about Her was how beautifully it was portrayed. Everything... Show more content on

You find this out when Oliver is in the doctors office, checking up on him and Jenny s health
conditions and why they aren t able to produce children. The way he reacts was truly heart
breaking to watch. Instantaneously, his facial expression changes, his eyes turning wide, and
completely goes into shock and denial saying That s impossible! Shes only 24! . The scene truly
displayed how traumatic this news was on him, and his performance delivered the feelings of
sadness and frustration even for me as the viewer to experience. The end of the film showing the
two lovers in the hospital without a doubt brought out the most of Oliver s emotions. He began
crying to Jenny, blaming himself, and wishing that she wasn t on her death bed. As heartbroken
as he was, he had to remain strong and comfort her in the last moments of her life. Interestly
enough, I found the ending of Her to be very similar to Love Story. Even though Samantha doesn t
necessarily die, she has no choice but to go, leaving Theodore devastated. The reaction Theodore
had of Samatha leaving easily shows the pain someone could feel when they ve lost an important
person. Both Phoenix and O Neal displayed this overbearing emotional time in their lives with great

that you have done! While I m sure you are anxious to learn about the technique to answer
research questions and hypotheses, social workers and researchers need to understand the basic.
Think of your first bike ride. Did you need training wheels? Or did you need that gentle push
from a parent or relative? These were the foundations that prepared you for many years of
enjoyable bicycling! As stated in the previous powerpoints, it is important to analyze each variable,
especially our independent and dependent variables to determine the type of statistical techniques
to use in answer our research questions and/or hypotheses. One analysis that we perform on each
variable is the distribution of their scores. As with other powerpoints, this powerpoint supplements
your readings for the purpose of providing a better understanding of the module s concepts. Yet, it
does not replace the need for reading your textbook. Additionally, embedded in the powerpoint are
questions to test your assimilation of these concepts. So, let s begin. Slide 2: As humans, we

Summary On The Court Decision Decides A Software Patent...
Summary
This Supreme Court decision decides a software patent complaint between Alice Corporation Pty.
Ltd.
(Alice) and CLS Bank International et al (CLS Bank). The question in this case asks whether a
patent
claiming the use of a fundamental economic principle is eligible for patent because it applies the use
of
a computer.
Procedural History
The petitioner of the case, CLS Bank, has several patents (Nos. 5,970,479, 6,912,510, 7,149,720,
7,725,375) pertaining to the exchange of financial obligations between two parties by using a
computer system as a third party intermediary i.e. escrow. (Alice Corp v. CLS Bank, 13 298 S. Ct. 2
(2013)) The respondent in this case, CLS Bank, is a cash settlement service dealing in the foreign
exchange market. CLS Bank has filed suit against Alice in District Court, claiming the patents are
invalid, unenforceable, or not infringed. After the Supreme Court decided on Bilski v. Kappos, No.
08
964 (2010) both parties filed cross motions in District Court seeking summary judgment as to
whether
the asserted claims are eligible for patent. The District Court held that the claims are patent
ineligible
because they are directed to an abstract idea. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
reversed the decision with a divided panel. Their assertion stated that there was no obvious use of an
abstract concept. The Federal Circuit then agreed to hear the claim en banc and vacated the panel s

Reflection Paper About Stress
For this week s essay I had the ability to learn about stress and the different categories that people
can fall into. People who experience stress more are categorized as type A people why people who
are less prone to these stresses are categorized as type B people. After talking the quiz I learned that
I scored a 267. This places me in the low type A range. This was little bit of a surprise to me
because I don t consider myself to be an over stressed person. I then thought about what causes me
stressand possible ways of being able to change my life style to help lessen the stress I experience.
In this essay I am going to share about what some of my major stresses are, how I reduce stress and
finally I will share a time when I was more of a type A person than a type B person.
When it comes to what stresses me in life it is the normal things at many college students
experience. I often find myself worrying about my grades and if I am doing well in school. One
major thing that I often find myself stressing over is if I am on track to graduate in a decent
amount of time. I understand that college is not something that can be finished over night but I
always want to make sure that I am moving at a decent pace to ensure that I wont be here for
ever. To help reduce this stress I often check my degree audit report to ensure I am on track.
Another way I cope with this concern is by making sure I talk with my advisors when it comes
time to make my schedule for the next semester. I

The Issue Of Welfare Spending Essay
Introduction The purpose of my research is to discern how welfare spending, healthcare spending,
defence spending, and pension spending impacted vote choice in the 2013 Australian election in
comparison to the 2012 United States election, 2013 German election, and 2012 France election. I
expect that as support for welfare spending, pension spending, and healthcare spending, decreases,
support for right wing parties will increase. I expect that there will be a positive effect on votingfor
right wing parties as support for defence spending increases. I expect that of these issues, welfare
spending will have the largest magnitude and that pension spending will have the lowest
magnitude. I do not believe there will be an additional effect in Australia and that the impact will be
similar to that of other industrial democracies.
Theory and Literature
The Funnel of Causality model describes voting behaviour in terms of socio demographics, party
identification, issues, and candidates. In this essay I will focus on issues because they can be
compared between countries. An issue is essentially a problem that is perceived to be important,
and there is an actor with ownership of the issue, meaning that there is someone who is thought to
be the best man for the job so to speak. The economy isn t an issue because you can t have
ownership over the economy. Issues are important because they explain a lot about voting
behaviour.
In this paper I have chosen to focus on the issues

Sistine chapel and one of the most famous works of art in history is Michelangelo s painting on
the ceiling of the chapel. The project was completed using fresco. In 1508 Michelangelowas
requested by PopeJulius II to repaint the chapel. The Chapel at the time was painted with a blue
sky and gold stars. Pope Julius II original request was to have the chapel painted with the twelve
Christian Apostles and when the project was completed Michelangelo had created more than 3,000
figures. The ceiling was created depicting nine stories from the bible s book of genesis, including
the The Creation of Adam , the most famous panel of any.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The first challenge and maybe the easiest for Michelangelo to overcome was the fact that he had
no experience painting with fresco and he considered himself a sculptor. The next challenge was
the sheer size of the painting at a whopping 14 meters by 40.5 meters. That is more than 132
square meters larger than a basketball court. Completing this large of painting was a monumental
task enough even without all the other challenges faced by Michelangelo. Michelangelo accepted
this commission regardless and would continue to face many more challenges over the next four
years. One of the most obvious challenges that stood in the way of completing this challenging
work of art was the fact that it was the ceiling that needed to be painted. A local townsman offered
to manufacture scaffolding for Michelangelo that would hang from the ceiling, but Michelangelo
refused because he did not want to leave holes in the ceiling from where the scaffolding would
have hung. Michelangelo then created his own scaffolding that could be held in place by brackets

Adrenoleukodystrophy Essay
Adrenoleukodystrophy
Adrenoleukodystrophy is a genetic disease that is passed on from mother to son. ALD is an X
linked disorder. That means it affects only males and is transmitted by a female carrier. This
disorder is called X linked since the genetic abnormality involves the X chromosome. Women
have two X chromosomes while men only have one. In women, the affected X chromosome, the
one with the gene for ALD does not become active because of the presence of a normal copy of
the gene on the other X chromosome. Men have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. In
men who have an X chromosome for X ALD, there is no other X chromosome for protection.

Why Is Huckleberry Finn Be Banned
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published in February 1885 in America as the
American Civil War was coming to a close. In the time period, slaves were a common use on
farms and in houses. In the time of the American Civil War, the N word was a term used to
describe and call African slaves. For the time period, it would have been commonly used;
however, today the N word is considered an offensive term. The term is considered so offensive the
New York City Council went as far as to ban the word in 2007.
In Mark Twains novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the N word is used a total of 216

Build A Fire
In To Build a Fire by Jack London, a foolish man decides to hike in severely cold weather, despite
warnings from others. In the beginning he does well and keeps plenty warm. Unfortunately he
falls shin deep into cold water and has to try and build a fire so he doesn t freeze. While trying to
build the fire he makes several errors and realizes that if he doesn t get a fire going, he will die.
After several unsuccessful attempts at making a fire, more and more of his body starts to go
numb from the cold. He thinks of several irrational solutions to his predicament, all of which fail
and he eventually freezes to death. The story shows the complete indifference nature has to human
life. The hiker in To Build a Fire thinks of himself as experienced and refuses to heed the
warnings about the extreme cold he is heading into. When he is first starting out, things seem to be
going well until he falls into some water. Usually, there are some warning signs that the ground
walked upon has water underneath, but nature gave no clues and the hiker fell into its trap. At a
place where there were no signs, where the soft, unbroken snow seemed to advertise solidity

Brick Lane Research Paper
Despite numerous studies that show the importance of risk taking in the development of
children, nowadays, very few are the playgrounds which provide opportunities for risk and a
relative danger. A difference has to be made between the idea of risk and the one of danger. In
fact, if danger has to be avoided, risk in a playground is essential to children development, it is
what will help them to adapt and be prepared to an unexpected environment when they will grow
up. Brick Lane Playscape project is about designing a playground which implements the notions of
risk and wilderness in the urban context of Brick Lane, London, to allow children to challenge
themselves and to go wild as much as they want. Due to its prominent location, close to Liverpool

My Writing By Nancy Sommers
Over the course of first semester in college I have learned how to read, write, and learn again.
That sentence may be hard to understand, since when getting to college you are already supposed
to know how, but it is true. Starting off with I Stand Here Writing by Nancy Sommers, I have
learned how to enhance my writing by using personal sources to combine personal and academic
writing. With the help of The Mindat Work by Mike Rose I got an example of how the teachings of
Sommers can be applied in writing. We ended the semester off with learninghow to read again. In
James Gee book Semiotic Domains: Is Playing Video Games a Waste of Time ? I got another
look at how to view literacy, which I was not aware that there was another way to look at.
Literacy should not be the ability to read and write but thought of as a semiotic domain. All that is
saying is that from what is written, categorizing the text to certain domain and producing and
adding meaning adds depth to what is written while we also get a better understanding as well.
Overall I have a gained an alternative perspective on learning and when experiencing new things,
changing your mindset will lead you to success in that domain. Learning is a hard thing to do in
some cases. It is never just an instructor teaching you that particular topic and learning it
automatically. Over time I realize there are quirks to think about when learning specific subjects.
For example in The Mind at Work, instead of finding research the

With P G being present in 180 countries there seems to be no real barrier to entry that can t be
overcome. They have some competition from other companies that offer dishwashing detergents
which can be seen as a threat of substitute products. There is definitely a presence of rivalry from
other competitors including the store name brand detergents that are shelved next to P G s product.
Industry Cost Structure
The cost structure is different in each market and country. It is based off of the economy in a
certain market so that it s affordable and economical to the consumers there. Cost structure must be
carefully studied so that the product doesn t fail and remain on the shelf while others priced more
reasonably sell.
Distribution Channels P G has several distribution channels that help them to get their product out
to the consumers. There are stores like Wal Mart, Target, Dollar General, and a number of grocery
stores that sell the products. You can even purchase the product online from a number of retailers.
Market Trends
P G must keep up with any changes that occur in their target market. This can pose either threats or
opportunities depending on the change that occurs. They need to be cautious of price sensitivity
and whether there is a new demand for variety. Also there can be changes that are regional that they
need to keep an eye out for.

Analysis Of St. Vincent Millay s Love Is Not All (...
Part 1: Scansion and Analysis
In Edna St. Vincent Millay s Love is Not All (Sonnet XXX), the poem s writer originally
discredits the value of love, claiming that it is not essential because it does not support life;
however, later Millay describes that love has some value.
Love Is Not All is a Italian or Petrarchan sonnet, with fourteen lines of rhymed iambic pentameter.
It has one stanza and it uses the rhyme scheme of a Shakespearean sonnet with three quatrains
and a couplet. Each line contains between 7 10 words, the average line containing nine words.
The poem includes the two main elements of a sonnet, an octave and sestet. The first six lines of
the poem are the octave. During this section of the poem, the author has a negative tone towards
love. Her diction includes words like not or nor to stress the idea that love is unnecessary. The
switch or climax of the poem occurs during the seventh line, and is marked by the word yet . This
choice of diction foreshadows the second idea of the poem, that love has some value. The eighth
line starts the sestet of the poem and changes the tone of the poem to a more optimistic outlook.
Douglas 2
Part 2: Explication
Through the use of poetic devices such as repetition or alliteration, the author originally describes
what love is not capable of providing and defines love as unnecessary but by the end of the poem,
the author reveals that love has some value.
The first four words of the poem are, love is not all .

Therefore, the cost formula using direct labor hours as the activity base is $17,000 per quarter

Note that the R2 is 0.93, which means that 93% of the variation in utility costs is explained by the

Problem 2A 4 (continued) b.The scattergraph plot of utility costs versus direct labor hours appears

3.The company should probably use direct labor hours as the activity base, since the fit of the
regression line to the data is much tighter than it is with tons mined. The R2 for the regression
using direct labor hours as the activity base is twice as large as for the regression using tons
mined as the activity base. However, managers should look more closely at the costs and try to
determine why utilities costs are more closely tied to direct labor hours than to the number of tons
mined.

Developing Wireless Communications to Space Essay
A big potential problem in the future is developing a wireless communications network in outer
space. In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to
these problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main
parts, one being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground
transmission to and from astronauts to rovers to space stations.
The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the near future. It
is called the Interplanetary Internet. As of now it is an array of floating nodes or satellites scattered
around in space that can communicate with each other. In the future a ... Show more content on

On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars
the average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download
tracks to your iPod.
In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These
satellites will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of
equipment will have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes,
operating on a packet switched network.
Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to
all of these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision
equipment, will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways
from our own TCP/IP protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system
by resending missing packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting
missing ones at the end of delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as
much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back on earth there will be gateways to translate.
Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top
speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty
unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution

Sample space: a list of all possible outcomes of the random experiment
Event: a collection or set of one or more simple events in a sample space
Probability of an event: the sum of the probabilities of the simple events
Random experiment: an action or process that leads to one of several possible outcomes
The first step in the process of assigning probabilities is to produce a list of the outcomes. The list
of outcomes must be exhaustive, which means all possible outcomes must be included.
Additionally, the outcomes must be mutually exclusive, which means no two outcomes can occur

Cosmological Arugment
Cosmological Argument Many philosophers have provided their arguments for the existence of
God. Their arguments are a priori or a posteriori. A posteriori is based on experience of how the
world is. In which the Cosmological view of William L. Rowe comes from. This paper will show
how Rowe took the cosmological argumentand its principle of sufficient reason and failed to make it
an established argument of the existenceof God.
Cosmological Argument has been taking by many and divided into parts of their argument. Rowe
was influenced by the Philosophers Saint Thomas Aquinas in the thirteenth century and Samuel
Clarke in the eighteenth century. All men have similar view points, also are slightly different, and

For the ones who know three plus three equals does and must equal six, are not always for the
principle of sufficient reason and some even claim that the principle is false (Rowe 55). Thus I
believe that there are things and positive facts that do not need explanation.
The second of which Principles of sufficient reason is defended is by claiming that although it is
not known to be true, it is, nevertheless, a presupposition of reason, a basic assumption that
rational people make (Rowe 55). A person for principle of sufficient reason says that all of us
already think that principle of sufficient reason is true. The problem with this is that even if we
do believe that principle of sufficient reason is true, us believing in it does not make it true. I
believe in one thing and another person might believe in something completely different. Holding
ones belief in some subject does not make it true nor does it make it false.
In conclusion if one wants to hold the Cosmological Argument to prove the existence of God, then
the proof of the principle of sufficient reason needs to have more evidence. The principles of
sufficient reason are what make up the premises of Cosmological Argument in which have no
evidence of being true. Therefore one cannot use the Cosmological Argument to prove the existence
of God, until the principle of sufficient reason has more evidence to back its

Individuality Vs. Conformity In The Shining Houses By...
Individuality and conformity is a battle between being a leader and being a follower, finding out
who you are and your desires to be accepted by others. In Alice Munro s short story The Shining
Houses and Wallace Stevens poem Disillusionment of Ten O Clock , both the author and the poet
shows how being an individualis more valuable than being one of those conformed copies .
Is it better to stand out and compromise your values or is it better to stay comfortable in the

order to be considered normal and fit into a group, that is why a lot of people eventually conform.

In Karen s The Red Convertible, the story is narrated by Lyman Lamartine who is the younger
brother of Henry Junior who had just got back from Vietnam after the war was over. The whole
story is narrated in a flashback unlike Tim s The Things They Carried where the story moves
back and forth in time. For example when the author describes the things that the soldiers carried
in the very beginning of the story, he mentions Ted Lavender carrying six or seven ounces of
premium dope until he was shot. Karen emphasizes more on the relationship between brothers
and compares the state of mind in which they were before and after the war. The younger
brother Lyman hadn t changed much where as the elder brother Henry was completely a
different person after he got back from Vietnam. In both the stories authors have successfully
shown the life of a young and happy bachelor until he was drafted to the war and then things
changed drastically. In The Things They Carried, author narrates Lieutenant Jimmy Cross as a
romantic young boy who would carry letters from a girl named Martha. He knew there was no
such thing as love between them but he would still be hopeful that things might work out his
way after the war is over and when he is sent back home. In the later part of the story after one of

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Prototyping
Another reason is prototyping requires a significant amount of the users or customers time to use
the prototype and provide feedback about the system especially when the developer develops a
prototype that is too complex. The users may be stuck in debates over the details of the prototype
due to its complexity which may halt the development team progress and thus, delaying the final
product. This situation might incur more time and costs which affects their profitability. There are
also certain users that thought the prototypeas the finished or final system. They think that a
prototype which is intended to be thrown away is actually a final system that merely needs to be
finished or polished. They are often unaware of the effort needed by the developers to conduct
error checking and add security features which a prototype may not have. This can lead them to
expect the prototype to accurately model the performance of the final system when this is not the
intention of the developers. Users can also become attached to features that were included in a
prototype for consideration and then removed from the specification for a final system. If the users

Prototyping is only appropriate when there is a high degree of risk that will lead to the failure of
the system. When users needs are not understood and users reactions are not known, prototyping is
crucial to prevent the final system from lacking in demand in the market. In this case, the proposed
system does not need prototyping because the users needs and wants are already known, the
technologies and software used are already available in the market and there are not much

These curiosities should have been answer by a parent, Victor Frankenstein. However, Victor
never put any effort in guiding the poor and innocent child. Evelyn Yeo in How Does Emotional
Abuse Affect Self Esteem, concludes that from the time of infant hood to childhood, a child s
sense of self is defined by how he was treated and what he was told by his parents and primary
caregivers. Infants especially, have no knowledge of who they are as a separate person so they
rely heavily on their parents feedback. From parents trust, affection, and encouragement, the child
will eventually grow up with confidence and achieve potential to make him or her parents proud.
Overtime, self esteem will soon build upon them so they are prepared to be set in the real world (1).
On the other hands, these stages in helping and encouraging a kid are important for them to able
to become an adult. But once again, Frankenstein never displays how a father would act. Yet,
Victor only showed sign of terror by the repulsive exterior of the creature. No parent should draw
final conclusion on whether if the child will become evil or good; its final judgment will be upon
how they act toward the others. Just by looking at their communication and action, it can tell a lot
of who they are as a person and how the parents has influence their belief.

History Of The Old West
It would be almost impossible to write the history of the Old West without giving credit to the
Hispanic people who influenced its customs, culture, towns, and lives. The contributions of
Hispanics to the evolution and success of America are woven into almost every portion of the
nation s history. To visualize America untouched by Latinos is to imagine a country without much
of its folklore and many of its achievements. The United Stateshas a rich history that goes back over
200 years. Hispanics have always played vital roles in building this country and making it a better
place. From the Revolutionary War that freed the United States from England to the Persian Gulf
War, Latinos have proudly served this country in the Armed Forces. And throughout U.S. history,
Latinos have prominently participated in building the West; in medicine and science; in
entertainment, business, education, civil rights, and politics; and in the great American pastime of

taking point of view for granted. Hispanics like Indians, Anglos, and every other group could be
victims as well as victimizers, and the meanings of the past could be seen, at times, to be riding a
seesaw ( Limerick, 257). When the colonies on the East Coast of what became the United States
rebelled against England, Hispanics played a pivotal role. As Governor of the Louisiana Territory,

Sarbanes-Oxley s Code Of Ethics
First, we need to grasp how Codes of ethics were created and if formulated from a standard
boilerplate Ethics program. As stated by FindLaw.com under Corporate Ethics and Sarbanes
Oxley, in order to create code of ethics, an organization must define its most important guiding
values, formulate behavioral standards to illustrate the application of those values to the roles
and responsibilities of the persons affected, review the existing procedures for guidance and
direction as to how those values and standards are typically applied, and establish the systems
and processes to ensure that the code is implemented and effective. (Navran, 2003) A company
can work to promote ethical behavior; however, the process is not easily created from boilerplate.
(Navran, 2003) The process has been broken into five sections which can be seen below from

The introductory section: basically, the introduction of the codes, how it is used and the
explanations of why it became widely known, is the responsibility of the organization along with
the CEOs promises, statements and commitment to the values. II.A statement of core values and
principles with each defined in simple business language. Of the principles, we look at moral and
pragmatic/business plus some are categorized as ethical and organizational; wherefore, moral deals
with honesty, fairness, respect; pragmatic/behavior principles deal with, excellence, profitability,
quality, or customer satisfaction. On a similar note, the categorization of values can be seen as,
ethical: honesty and fairness while organizational: excellence and sustainable development.
III.Behavioral examples illustrating each value/principle, with a clear statement that such
illustrations are not intended to be inclusive or

Pros And Cons Of Social Darwinism
Social Darwinists argue that economic competition produces human process. Social Darwinism is
a theory that states that individuals, groups, and people are all subject to the same Darwinian law
of natural selection as plants and animals. Spencer s idea was modified to refer to free competition
in the economic world. Spencer stated that free competition ensures that only the most capable
individuals survive and rise to the top. He also argued that the free competition that enriches some
individuals and reduces others to poverty results in the gradual improvement of the human race.
One basic problem with his idea is that the skills that help individuals and firms advance and
survive in the business world are not necessarily those that help humanity survive on the planet.
Advancements might be achieved through a ruthless disregard for other human beings. It is also
important to mention that the main problem with the Social Darwinists is the normative
assumption that survival of the fittest means survival of the best. 9. What are Marx s four forms
of alienation? How does each form help to increase inequalities of wealth and power? The first
form of alienation is alienating workers from their own productive work. People are usually forced

A mixed economy is also defined as an economy that retains a market and private property
system, but relies heavily on government policies to remedy their deficiencies. Society would
want to consider this system because it would allow to getting rid of the disadvantage the poor
and middle class people are getting. For example, the government would be able to get rid of the
worst aspects of inequality by taxing the wealthy and distributing it to the disadvantaged in the
form of welfare payments or services. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Ireland, and Switzerland
are all mixed economies with high levels of government

Essay on Drown
Drown
The fact that I am writing to you in English already falsifies what I wanted to tell you. (Diaz)
Drown; a compilation of short stories, by Junot Diaz portrays the integration of fiction and truth.
Yunior, narrator, as he tells his stories, he exaggerates and jumps from one period of his life to
another. The characters of the story can relate to many young adults. Their experiences and the
journeys of their lives are what most Hispanic teenagers go through. The 10 different stories explain
the different themes shown throughout the book. The Hispanic community faces many problems
and Diaz states a couple of them; gender immigration, violence, drugs, family, cultural identity, and
the Latin experience.

Meanwhile, Rafa sees this as his opportunity to see what is underneath the mask. The mask twitched
I realized he was smiling and the my brother brought his arm around and smashed the bottle on top
of his head. (Diaz 18)
Once the mask was removed, their journey to see what was underneath it was not what they had
expected to see. Instead of being happy by their accomplishment they were instead beginning to
feel sick. Diaz uses the character of Ysrael to make a comparison with the immigration of lower
class individuals. The boys only recognize the familiar and when Ysrael comes along its bizarre
for them because they have never seen someone like him. Similarly with lower class people that
get ready to face the hardships of getting accustomed to a new language, culture, and environment.
It s tough for immigrants when they first arrive because not only are they faced with learning new
traditions but also they have to deal with racism and hatred. Diaz demonstrates the theme of
immigration and the hope for the American Dream when the father leaves his family behind and
comes to the United States. He promises them that he will send money to them so they can go and
be reunited once again. But as soon as he arrives he was forgotten about everything he left in the
past. He, like any one, will do anything to be granted citizenship, even if it means cheating on his
wife. The father loves his family but he didn t realize that coming here and

Fossil Fuels Are Non Renewable
Fossil fuels were formed 300 millions of years ago before the time of dinosaurs (Energy Quest,
2012). Prehistoric plants and animals formed the fossil fuels millions of years ago (U.S.
Department of Energy, 2013). There are three main fossil fuels that we use oil, coal, and natural
gas (Energy Quest, 2012). Fossil fuels are non renewable because they take many millions of
years to make (Energy Quest, 2012). Also, once the fossil fuels are made, they can never be made
again. That is why many people try to save energy by conserving energy (Energy Quest).
The first type of fossil fuels is oil. Oil is found between folds of rocks and in areas that are porous
and contain oils within the rock itself (Energy Quest 2012). Also companies ... Show more content

Department of Energy). Coal is hidden beneath the earth surface; it was easiest to find was where
it appeared as one of many layers of material along a side of a hill (U.S. Department of Energy).
Today coal mining sites can be around 500 feet underground (U.S. Department of Energy, 2012).
Today use coal to generate electricity that s are burned in power plants (U.S. Department of Energy,
2012). There are four types of coal that we mine today: anthracite, bituminous, subbitminous, and
lignite (Energy Quest, 2012).
Natural gas is the third type of fossil fuels we use everyday. Natural gas was found BCE (Before the
Common Ear) (Energy Quest, 2012). This fossil fuel is lighter than air and is made up of a gas
call methane (Energy Quest, 2012). Methane is a simple compound that contains many carbon
atoms and surrounded by four hydrogen atoms (U.S. Department of Energy). Natural gas is found
near petroleum underground and can be pumped from underground traveling in pipelines to
where the gas can be stored (Energy Quest, 2012). Natural gas is used for cooking, heating and
fueling other appliances (U.S. Department of Energy, 2012). This type of fossil fuel does not have
an odor but companies add a chemical that smells like rotten eggs (U.S. Department of Energy).
Natural gas can be found in three formations: shale formations, sandstone beds, and coal seams
(U.S. Department of Energy s, 2012).

Village Of Forest Park, Illinois
Introduction
When discussing microeconomics, there are several market structures that may have an impact the
economy in the Village of Forest Park, Illinois. These market structures including perfect
competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly have many characteristics and
have an impact on the market as a whole. There are many barriers to entry, competitive pressure and
price elasticity that also impact the economic growth of the village. Other areas that affect the
village s economy include governmental roles and international trade.
Two Characteristics of the Four Market Structures
The major market structures that impact our current economy are perfect competition, monopolistic
competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A monopolistic competition describes a common market structure in which firms have many
competitors or sellers, but each one sells a vaguely distinctive product or service. One of this
market structure s characteristics is that each individual firm makes independent decisions about
price and output, based on its product, its market, and its costs of production (Economics Online,
2015). Another characteristic is there is freedom to enter or leave the market, since there are no
major barriers to entry or exit. The opposite of this market structure is an oligopoly. Oligopoly
means few sellers. Oligopoly is the market structure in which there are only a few firms or a few
firms dominate the market (Amacher Pate, 2013). In an oligopolistic market, each seller supplies a
large portion of all the products sold in the marketplace. In addition, because the cost of starting a
business in an oligopolistic industry is usually high, the number of firms entering it is low.
Local Market Example
In the Village of Forest Park, the local electric company, ComEd, has a monopoly over the energy
market. While the village residents are able to chose what type of energy they use, whether its
coal or wind, each of the energy providers sell their energy to ComEd who then sets the price for
its consumers. There are no other energy companies or providers in the city, each person must use

Financial Ratios Of Pepsico Inc Essay
The calculation of ratios is the calculation technique for analyzing a company s financial
performance that divides or standardize one accounting measure by another economically relevant
measure. Financial ratios can be used as a tool to demonstrate financial statement users for making

comparable companies. External investors are mostly interested in gaining insights about a firm s
profitability, assetmanagement, liquidity, and solvency. Table 1, below, will show financial ratios

PepsiCo Inc. The table consists of 5 major elements. Profitability refers to how much income was
generated by PepsiCo Inc. Then, asset management refers to how effectively the invested assets

Javert s ideas were overturned. (pg 530/531) Javert depicts his thoughts as a rebellion because
they are going against his lifelong beliefs and it begins to irritate him . He knows that having one
distinct outcome for anyone who has committed a crime would be the easy way out of things, but
he is unable to control himself from now thinking that there is more than one right answer. He had
always believed that strict authority and giving people sentences was the right call for every case
he had, but now these phrases show less of an impact due to his overturned ideas. It is in this
moment that Hugo shows the change that is brewing within Javert, as he is beginning to not only
realize that there is more that one solution to those who commit crimes, but he s beginning to make
an effort to perform actions that show he does believe in second chances. Javert knows that time is
running out and he must make a decision on what to do with JVJ

  • 2. Loyalty In Antigone By Sophocles In Antigone, Sophocles introduces the struggle between loyalty to civil law versus familial loyalty and divine law, which is a central conflict in the play. Antigone has a firm belief in upholding family values and honoring the gods and deceased by burying her brother. In contrast, Creon wants to do what is best for the city which is, in his opinion, forbidding the burial of Polynices. Both Antigoneand Creonbelieve that their point of view is more important, and neither is willing to change perspective, causing the chain of destructive events in the plot. Loyalty causes the deadly dispute between Antigone and Creon because of their conflicting perspectives about precedence. Antigone has the strong belief that loyalty to the dead and to the gods has precedence over all other opinions, specifically those of Creon. Antigone does not at all care that the one with all governing power has the most disagreement with her decision to remain devoted to her family below. Since I must please those below a longer time than the people here, for I shall lie there forever (Sophocles16). She knows and understands that time in the mortal world has a limit, however time in the underworld is eternal. Pleasing Creon and his belief to only stay true to civil laws are of no concern to Antigone, for all she wants is to please her family below and the gods above. An example of this is the burial of Polynices, because while it is right in Antigone s eyes, Creon believes it is foolish and a sin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yet he also calls the Cold War a in the end, a resilient and predictable system for the preservation of human civilization. THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN is the author s response. His thesis is simple. The failure of communism and the disappearance of the Soviet Union has resulted in the victory of liberal democracy and capitalism. There are, he claims, no more challengers. Security and freedom have been achieved, and consequently, history has ended. THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN ignores the confusing events and details of most history and is more philosophical, even teleological, in its orientation. The author states that only liberal democracy and the market economy have satisfactorily provided what Plato claimed to be necessary for happiness: the appetitive (food and sex), the reasoning (knowledge and truth), and the need to be recognized as human. Hegel s concept of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis explained the process of history, with liberal democracy as the final synthesis according to Fukuyama. Marx, like Hegel, saw the world in a clash of evolving opposites, but while Marx predicted that the triumph of communism would lead to the withering away of the state, Fukuyama instead argues that with the victory of liberal democracy it is history that has ... Over the centuries, Christianity has divided into vast amount of denominations, because some Christians worship in different ways and believe in different parts of the Bible. According to arabamericanmuseum.org, each denomination has its own distinctive beliefs or practices, but they are generally considered a branch of mainstream Christianity if they agree on core doctrines like the divinity of Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible. The three main largest denominations of Christianity are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestant, with Catholicism being the largest. Christians believe that there is only one god, but that there are three elements of God, including the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They believe these are 3 forms of the same God, similar to how water can exist in 3 forms of liquid, gas and solid. They also believe that 2,000 years ago in Israel, God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to earth to save humans from the consequences of their sins. He gave his life by being crucified and on the third day rose from the dead. Faith in Jesus Christ himself, not just in his teachings, is how the Christian experiences joy and a meaningful life. Jesus claimed to be the God in human form, rather than prophet who is pointing to God. He performed miracles, forgave people of their sin and said that anyone who believed in him would have eternal life. He made statements like, I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (biblehub.com ) The Christian holy book is called the Bible. (2003) in which the Doubtful Sound population could be divided into three sub groups. The composition of groups however is somewhat different. This is in part due to different individuals being present / alive during their study than in the current study. Where all individuals present in both studies are placed across all three defined groups in Lusseau et al. s (2003) study, all but Kringel fall into the same single group in the present study. This suggests that, while the overall sub group structure may have been maintained over time, there is a degree of fluidity among members of sub groups. This is the very nature of a fission fusion society, where group composition is dynamic over time (Grellier et al. 2003). The three sub groups may be an apparently permanent feature of the populationwhen using the group membership method, with the fission fusion nature of bottlenose dolphins defining the composition of each group through time. It must be noted however that Lusseau et al. s (2003) study was over a period of seven years, where 546 days were spent on the water. (Alice) and CLS Bank International et al (CLS Bank). The question in this case asks whether a patent claiming the use of a fundamental economic principle is eligible for patent because it applies the use of a computer. Procedural History The petitioner of the case, CLS Bank, has several patents (Nos. 5,970,479, 6,912,510, 7,149,720, 7,725,375) pertaining to the exchange of financial obligations between two parties by using a computer system as a third party intermediary i.e. escrow. CLS Bank has filed suit against Alice in District Court, claiming the patents are invalid, unenforceable, or not infringed. After the Supreme Court decided on Bilski v. Kappos, No. 08 964 (2010) both parties filed cross motions in District Court seeking summary judgment as to whether the asserted claims are eligible for patent. The District Court held that the claims are patent ineligible because they are directed to an abstract idea. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed the decision with a divided panel. Their assertion stated that there was no obvious use of an abstract concept. The Federal Circuit then agreed to hear the claim en banc and vacated the panel s 1

That sentence may be hard to understand, since when getting to college you are already supposed to know how, but it is true. Starting off with I Stand Here Writing by Nancy Sommers, I have learned how to enhance my writing by using personal sources to combine personal and academic writing. With the help of The Mindat Work by Mike Rose I got an example of how the teachings of Sommers can be applied in writing. We ended the semester off with learninghow to read again. In James Gee book Semiotic Domains: Is Playing Video Games a Waste of Time ? I got another look at how to view literacy, which I was not aware that there was another way to look at. Literacy should not be the ability to read and write but thought of as a semiotic domain. All that is saying is that from what is written, categorizing the text to certain domain and producing and adding meaning adds depth to what is written while we also get a better understanding as well. Overall I have a gained an alternative perspective on learning and when experiencing new things, changing your mindset will lead you to success in that domain. Learning is a hard thing to do in some cases. It is never just an instructor teaching you that particular topic and learning it automatically. Over time I realize there are quirks to think about when learning specific subjects. For example in The Mind at Work, instead of finding research the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Part 1: Scansion and Analysis In Edna St. Vincent Millay s Love is Not All (Sonnet XXX), the poem s writer originally discredits the value of love, claiming that it is not essential because it does not support life; however, later Millay describes that love has some value. Love Is Not All is a Italian or Petrarchan sonnet, with fourteen lines of rhymed iambic pentameter. It has one stanza and it uses the rhyme scheme of a Shakespearean sonnet with three quatrains and a couplet. Each line contains between 7 10 words, the average line containing nine words. The poem includes the two main elements of a sonnet, an octave and sestet. The first six lines of the poem are the octave. During this section of the poem, the author has a negative tone towards love. Her diction includes words like not or nor to stress the idea that love is unnecessary. The switch or climax of the poem occurs during the seventh line, and is marked by the word yet . This choice of diction foreshadows the second idea of the poem, that love has some value. The eighth line starts the sestet of the poem and changes the tone of the poem to a more optimistic outlook. Douglas 2 Part 2: Explication Through the use of poetic devices such as repetition or alliteration, the author originally describes what love is not capable of providing and defines love as unnecessary but by the end of the poem, the author reveals that love has some value. In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to these problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and from astronauts to rovers to space stations. The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the near future. It is called the Interplanetary Internet. On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars the average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download tracks to your iPod. In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These satellites will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of equipment will have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet switched network. Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to all of these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision equipment, will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing ones at the end of delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back on earth there will be gateways to translate. Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evelyn Yeo in How Does Emotional Abuse Affect Self Esteem, concludes that from the time of infant hood to childhood, a child s sense of self is defined by how he was treated and what he was told by his parents and primary caregivers. Infants especially, have no knowledge of who they are as a separate person so they rely heavily on their parents feedback. From parents trust, affection, and encouragement, the child will eventually grow up with confidence and achieve potential to make him or her parents proud. Social Darwinism is a theory that states that individuals, groups, and people are all subject to the same Darwinian law of natural selection as plants and animals. Spencer s idea was modified to refer to free competition in the economic world. Spencer stated that free competition ensures that only the most capable individuals survive and rise to the top. He also argued that the free competition that enriches some individuals and reduces others to poverty results in the gradual improvement of the human race. One basic problem with his idea is that the skills that help individuals and firms advance and survive in the business world are not necessarily those that help humanity survive on the planet. It s tough for immigrants when they first arrive because not only are they faced with learning new traditions but also they have to deal with racism and hatred. Diaz demonstrates the theme of immigration and the hope for the American Dream when the father leaves his family behind and comes to the United States. He promises them that he will send money to them so they can go and be reunited once again. But as soon as he arrives he was forgotten about everything he left in the past. Also, once the fossil fuels are made, they can never be made again. That is why many people try to save energy by conserving energy (Energy Quest). The first type of fossil fuels is oil. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A monopolistic competition describes a common market structure in which firms have many competitors or sellers, but each one sells a vaguely distinctive product or service. One of this market structure s characteristics is that each individual firm makes independent decisions about price and output, based on its product, its market, and its costs of production (Economics Online, 2015). Another characteristic is there is freedom to enter or leave the market, since there are no major barriers to entry or exit. The opposite of this market structure is an oligopoly. Oligopoly means few sellers. Oligopoly is the market structure in which there are only a few firms or a few firms dominate the market (Amacher Pate, 2013). In an oligopolistic market, each seller supplies a large portion of all the products sold in the marketplace. In addition, because the cost of starting a business in an oligopolistic industry is usually high, the number of firms entering it is low. Local Market Example In the Village of Forest Park, the local electric company, ComEd, has a monopoly over the energy market.
