Essay On Racism In America
Crafting an essay on the pervasive issue of racism in America is undeniably challenging. The
subject matter is complex, deeply rooted in historical context, and highly sensitive. Delving into
the intricacies of racism demands a nuanced understanding of social, political, and cultural
dynamics, making it a task that requires extensive research and thoughtful analysis.
The difficulty arises from the need to navigate through the historical legacy of slavery, the civil
rights movement, systemic inequalities, and contemporary manifestations of racism. Tackling
these issues requires a careful examination of various perspectives, acknowledging the
experiences of marginalized communities, and addressing the uncomfortable truths that underlie
the persistence of racism.
Moreover, the emotional weight of the topic adds an extra layer of complexity. Writing about
racism necessitates empathy, cultural competence, and an awareness of one's own biases. It
involves grappling with uncomfortable truths, challenging societal norms, and advocating for
change. Striking the right balance between academic rigor and emotional resonance is a delicate
task that demands both skill and sensitivity.
In conclusion, composing an essay on racism in America is no simple feat. It requires a deep
understanding of the historical context, a commitment to addressing uncomfortable truths, and
the ability to navigate the emotional complexities of the subject. However, by undertaking this
challenging endeavor, one contributes to an important dialogue that aims to dismantle systemic
injustice and foster a more inclusive society.

Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th
Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in
2003, during one of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his
mother talking about his childhood in between verses and is a very autobiographical
song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he formed the persona that is Jay
Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s presumed
retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the
December 4th is about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells
the story, not of the end, but of the beginning of Jay Z and he does this by
separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter; examining the importance
that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live. This
song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self
and showing the importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song
begins almost as a confessional, telling his audience about the decisions and
choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I m leaving
after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell
you why I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about
his life and the aspects of his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z. It
is also important to note that the lines above are being told from the point of view of

Essay on Grand Theft Auto IV
A.Introduction
In Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV), you play the role of an Eastern European
immigrant who has come to Liberty City to visit his self proclaimed successful
cousin, Roman. After making the journey, Niko finds that his cousin is actually
stuck in a cycle of debt and struggle and has been lying about his large mansion and
beautiful women. After spending some time with Roman, Niko finds that his cousin
is being harassed by local loan sharks. Niko must commit illegal activities for the
loan sharks in order to eradicate Roman s debt. As a result, he must enter the
underground world of drugs and violence. Soon after, Roman discovers that his
girlfriend is cheating on him with Niko s boss, Vlad, and is heartbroken. When Niko

As the game comes to a conclusion, the player is asked to make one more moral
decision. Niko has the option of either working with Dimitri Rascalov, a man who
sold him out to a Russian crime lord, or killing Dimitri. If Niko works with Dimitri,
he tries to kill Niko at Roman s wedding, and accidentally kills Roman. If Niko
takes revenge on Dimitri and kills him, Niko s business partner kills Roman s wife
for thwarting his plan. Whichever path the player takes, the game concludes with
Niko killing the man who killed his loved one. Although both endings are very tragic,
they are representative of the huge sacrifices immigrants face and the price they must
pay to achieve the American dream.
B.Elements Perhaps the most important element of the revenge theme is the
outcome of the revenge. In GTA IV, Niko is given many opportunities to take
revenge on those who have wronged him. Each time Niko killed a man who
wronged him or his family, he ended up suffering. When Niko killed Vlad, Niko
and Roman were kidnapped and forced to work for their lives. By taking revenge
on Darko, Niko does not actually change anything. He finishes his decade long
quest but he is still void on the inside. If art is created to help people draw parallels
to their life and learn a lesson, the entire purpose of the revenge theme is to
demonstrate that getting even does not work as well as it may seem. The player is
shown multiple times that taking revenge does not
Reon Jordan s Case Summary
In the case that I found, in March 2014 a 34 year old Los Angeles women, was
arrested on suspicion of burglary, grand theft, and unauthorized use of PHI. The
woman, Reon Jordan, who worked at ABEO, a Pasadena national medical billing
company, will be facing these charges due to allegedly stealing hundreds of
patients personal PHI. Ms. Jordan s was going to a West LA College, where she
was going to school to become a licensed medical biller. Suspicion activity of
payments to her schooling raised a red flag to one of the college employees, and an
investigation was started, which ended up eventually involving the local authorities.

Jordan was arrested, she had the credit card information of over 200 patients and
the identify profile of over 400 patients. She was charged with 21 counts of
Identity theft and 3 counts of multiple identifying information theft, and could face
up to 19 years in county jail if convicted. She is accused of misusing the credit
cards to purchase products for personal use. During the investigation, they were
able to identify 23 victims in the communities of LA, Santa Monica, Malibu,
Mammoth Lake, and as far away as Tennessee and Mississippi. Detectives believe
that numerous other victims are still yet to be discovered (at the time of the news
story). Presented solid prevention strategies: I think as a patient, or consumer in
general, it is extremely important to monitor your credit history. There are ways to
do a report, for no charge, to check your credit history on the 3 different credit
reporting agencies. You also need to review your monthly credit card statements to
make sure that what you purchase, is what you pay for. Most business, have
safeguards in place, to avoid most of the type of frauds that Ms. Jordan committed.

Tom Walker Greed Essay
Greed has a powerful hold on several human beings. For some it has a stronger hold
than others not so much. Without people knowing, greed kills the soul slowly.
Tom Walker met the face of greed one night and was offered that would set his fate.
As he analyzed the black man s charcoaled face he came to realize the man before
him was the devil. With swift smooth words Satan offered some ancient treasure
for Tom Walker soul. Pondering the glamorous offer Tom decided against it due to
his wife at home. Revealing what happen to her later that night, she was mad. She

satan. All his pain caused by the devil would be gone but he still wants his treasure.
Hoping god will save him is false hope. Carrying around a bibles not knowing the
the true power they posses is like holding a shield made of cooked noodles to
change. Fear has now consumed him not by desire to change. One leads to fate
while the other leads to success beyond comprehension Tom Walker wants to
change what he regrets but he never will when fear is all that is driving him. The
pure heart he use to posse is addicted to greed and driving with fear. Tom walker

What factors lead to the rise of the pictorial poster
What factors lead to the rise of the pictorial poster? When looking at what factors
lead to the rise of the pictorial poster, it is clear to see that the majority of them
occurred in late nineteenth century Paris and that perhaps one man, Jules ChГ©ret,
can be thanked for exploiting and mastering the techniques which made these
posters reach the levels of respect previously reserved for the fine arts. As well as
Jules ChГ©ret and his mastery of lithography I will be exploring the influence of
Japan and their printing techniques upon Toulouse Lautrec as well as Baron Georges
Eugene Haussmann s renovation of Paris during its Second empire, the impacts of
the rising middle class, and the effects that tax had upon the walls of Paris.... Show

However, this image is missing the simplicity of the previous poster and the skill
in which ChГ©ret prints La Loi fuller s dress in movement cannot be overlooked,
it is what carries the whole poster with ease. As stated by Jane Abdy in The French
Poster what makes a great ChГ©ret is the personification of gaiety in his posters
.... the laughing, twirling, sparkling girl whom he uses as a model; the Parisians
adored her , and called her La Cherette (abdy, 1969, p.31) In Les affiches illustr ees
Maindron a section from The French Poster by Jane Abdy, Ernest Maindron talks
about that when posters were very successful, it was often reproduced in a small
version so that collectors could have them. A daily newspaper Le courriere
francias made special printings of ChГ©ret posters in a convenient size (22 x14 )
as presents to their subscribers (Abdy, 1969, p.171) However, the size of posters
not only affected legibility and who could own them, it also affected the amount of
tax placed upon them. All posters which were to be placed in the streets would be
subjected to a government tax. This was varied according to size; the rate was 6
centimes for the Вј colombier, 12 centimes for the ВЅ colombier, 18 for the jesus and
the colombier and 24 centimes for all large posters. (Abdy, 1969, p.171) when this
levy was paid, the poster was stamped and approved to be hung in the streets. Figure

Petrol Cars And Air Pollution
Believe it or not but Petrol cars cause instant and long term impacts on the Earth. It
transmits an extensive variety of gasses which leads to global warming, hurting
nature, acid rains and also affects human wellbeing. The noise of the engine and fuel
leakages additionally cause air pollution. Petrol/Diesel cars, trucks, busses and all
other different types of transportation are the single biggest supporter of air pollution
in the United States, however due to the advanced technologies and innovations, it is
possible to reduce impact on the environment by using electric cars. Many countries
in the world have taken initiatives to reduce car pollution. Some of them are UK,
China, Scotland, India, Germany and many more. Couple of months ago... Show

It is predicted that these numbers will keep on rising over the coming decades. It
doesn t only affect us but it affects globally and everyone such as wildlife, ocean
levels, farming and many more. The effects of car pollution are boundless,
affecting water, soil and air quality. Nitrous oxide is one of the main reasons for
the depletion of the ozone layer. The ozone layer is the layer which protects us
from harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Acid rains are caused because of
Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide which are again emitted by cars. These gases
not only damages our health but also damages forests, vegetation and crops. The
spills of oils and fuel that we see from cars near highways pollutes rivers, lakes and
oceans. The one of the biggest reasons for switching to electric cars is that petrol
cars not only affects environment but it affects human health too. Diesel motors
radiate high levels of gasses, which consists of ash and metal. These causes eye and
skin irritation and hypersensitiveness. These small particles of ash and metal can
enter our lungs which can lead to respiratory issues. Chest pains and coughing can
also be caused by Ozone layer because ozone layer inflames lungs hence it makes it
hard to breathe and relax. Carbon monoxide is one of the
Blue Binder Creative Writing
It was ten thirty at night. I was writing this letter for probably the tenth time, when
my bedroom door opened. Startled, I quickly closed my blue binder. There stood
one of my mothers, reminding me that it was time for me to get ready for bed. I
took deep breaths to attempt to calm down, brushed my teeth, and said goodnight.
Then went back to my bedroom, back to my blue binder. I tried to keep my
handwriting legible as I wrote these words to my moms, these words that I couldn t
say out loud to anyone. These words that scared the hell out of me.
I wrote the letter as if I were introducing a new person to them; in a sense, I was. It
had been about two weeks since I had gotten my hair cut, showing the hairdresser a

However, I was unable to tell them what one of my moms said because she was yet
to say anything. I knew she had to process what I shared, but she couldn t say
anything? I was terrified to tell her this and then she doesn t even acknowledge that I
did it.
Well, when she got home from work that day she said something. I don t remember
it all, but I do know that she said, for the first time of many, this is a long journey,
and you re still a hormonal teenager. She stressed to me to be open to other feelings,
and not to think that this was the end all be all.
Here I am, a year and a half later. All of this seems so surreal to me, that this is my
story, and I m not telling someone else s. In writing this, I am almost reliving the
fear that I had to tell my parents this vital part of my being. My parents realize this is
something that isn t changing, but even if it was, it wouldn t matter because they
love me no matter what.
Now, my parents, along with everyone else in my life, refer to me by my name, and
my pronouns. It s amazing to look back at myself a year and a half ago and see how
much has changed, how much better it has gotten. It s even more amazing to think
about how much longer my journey will
Gulliver s Travels Rationality
Humankind as the Balance of Rationality and Passion
A Voyage to the Country of the Houyhnhnms
Jonathon Swift s Gulliver s Travels takes place in four parts, each of which
describe Gulliver s adventures with fantastical species of foreign nations. The search
for Swift s meaning has been a controversial one; the novel has been interpreted
along a wide spectrum ranging from children s story to a satire of human nature. The
greatest debate lies within the realm of satire, and Part Four of Gulliver s Travels, A
Voyage to the Country of the Houyhnhnms, is just one area in which critics argue for
a variety of satirical meanings. Critics traditionally argue for the hard interpretation

There are many instances in which the Houyhnhnms are depicted in a positive light,
and one such case is Gulliver s revelation that The Houyhnhnms have no world in
their language to express anything that is evil, except what they borrow from the
deformities or ill qualities of the Yahoos (Swift 2413). In addition, Gulliver reflects
upon periods where he was in the company of conversing Houyhnhnms as he
expresses:
Nothing passed but what was useful, expressed in the fewest and most significant
words; where (as I have already said) the greatest decency was observed...where no
person spoke without being pleased himself, and pleasing his companions; where
there was no interruption, tediousness, heat, or difference of sentiments. (Swift 2414)
A sense of emotional resiliency is also expressed as Gulliver describes the
circumstances surrounding the death of a fellow Houyhnhnm. He writes, They...are
buried in the obscurest places that can be found, their friends and relations
expression neither joy nor grief at their departure; nor does the dying person discover
the least regret that he is leaving the world (Swift 2413).

of today, started with a humble beginning. The custom of sending greeting cards
can be traced back to the ancient Chinese, who exchanged messages of good will to
celebrate the New Year, and to the early Egyptians, who conveyed their greetings on
papyrus scrolls. By the early 1400s, handmade paper greeting cards were being

First in person, then via post, by 1822, homemade Christmas cards had become the
bane of the U.S. postal system. That year, the Superintendent of Mails in
Washington, D.C., complained of the need to hire sixteen extra mailmen. Fearful of
future bottlenecks, he petitioned Congress to limit the exchange of cards by post,
concluding, I don t know what we ll do if it keeps on . (Panati) Of the original one
thousand cards printed for Henry Cole, twelve exist today in private collections.
Printed cards soon became the rage in England; then in Germany. But it required an
additional thirty years for Americans to take to the idea. In 1875, Boston lithographer
Louis Prang, a native of Germany, began publishing cards, and earned the title father
of the American Christmas card. Prang s high quality cards were costly, and they
initially featured not images as the Madonna and Child, a decorated tree, or even
Santa Claus, but of colored floral arrangements of roses, daisies, gardenias,
geraniums, and apple blossoms. Americans took to Christmas cards, but
unfortunately, not to Prang s; he was forced out of business in 1890. It was cheap

Electronic Banking in Nigeria
Electronic Retail Payment Systems:
User Acceptability and Payment Problems in Nigeria
1.1Introduction
The world has witnessed an upsurge of electronic payment instruments meant to
facilitate trade and simplify payments. (Abor, 2004) Before the introduction of
electronic payment into the Nigerian banking system, all customers had to walk into
the actual bank to do transaction of all kinds. Customers had to queue up and spend
more hours to talk to a teller to make their transactions. (Abor, 2004) The
inconveniences caused by these long queues can discourage someone to make
payment. For many years, bankers, technology specialists, entrepreneurs, and others
have advocated for the replacement of physical cash and the introduction of more ...

1.3Factors Affecting Payment Choice
1.3.1 Customers Wealth/Levels of Income
Consistent with Kwast and Kennickell (1997) research, wealth has an important role
to play in terms of consumer s decisions on payment choice. Consumers wealth may
influence payment choice and the availability of payment instruments that one can
choose. For instance, while wealthy consumers may be able to fund their obligations
generally, consumers that experience brief financial shortfalls may not find electronic
bill payment desirable as a payment instrument.
(Mantel, 2000) In such a situation, the consideration of the risk factor will let some
consumers to avoid using pre authorized electronic bill payment.
1.3.2 Educational Level
On the bank customers survey, we also focused on education, because this might
affect the demand for electronic banking products. For example, Kwast and
Kennickell (1997) have illustrated how education play important role in determining
household use of e money products.
Kwast and Kennickell concluded that the US market for such products is still highly

Inequality In The Cherry Orchard
The erosion of social hierarchy causing a dawn of class issue and inequality
amongst different classes of society has played a huge role in Chekhov s The
Cherry Orchard. The abolition of Russian serfdom has caused Russian society into a
time of flux and confusion. Due to this, it gave the ambitious serfs who were
previously pitted in the lower class, a chance to become wealthy and move up in
social class. Thus, this allowed for the rise of ambitious and talented in trade and
industry, allowing them to gain primary roles in this new capitalist society.

is mirrored in Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard. This rise in power for one allows for

The liberation allows for the opportunistic middle class who prioritizes these new
values and thus, are on the precursor of success, evoking change, taking fate into
their own hands and controlling the fate of those around them. Although Trofimov
does not take action to make changes, he is able to illustrate and set the grounds
and rules of success and the how to adapt in this time of flux and change. Trofimov
states that Mankind marches forward, perfecting its strength. Everything that is
attainable for us now will one day be near and clear, but we must work we must
help with will all our force those we seek for truth. At present only a few men work
in Russia. The vast majority of the educated people that I know seek after nothing,
do nothing and are as incapable of work. Trofimov is talking about the aristocrats
who are educated but do things with it and are born into power but do nothing with
that power. Thus, explaining one of the of pillars of capitalism which is practicality,
and thus, Trofimov suggests life should not be stagnant and humans must be
pressured to work harder and be motivated to succeed. Therefore, mirroring the lack
of pressure on Russian society which leads to a fall in social and economic progress.

How does a high school student know that he or she is ready to enter college? How
do parents know their children are academically, mentally and emotionally ready for
this transition? It is a question that has no definitive answer but does however have a
basic theory that can t be ignored. Preparing our children to enter college and to
determine their career path can be a daunting task. The transition for students from
high school to college really begins with the first taught lesson, the first hug, the first

Themes InBreaking Dawn, By Stephenie Meyer
In the book Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer there are many differences and
similarities to this other book The Elite by Kiera Cass. There are the difference of
themes and the setting and the characters in each book. They are shown by using
dialogue and the description in the seperate books. The book Breaking Dawn is the
story that shows love between Bella and Edward only growing deeper and more
meaningful. In the book The Elite there is the main characterAmerica Singer and how
she is know really showing her true emotion to Maxon the prince.
During Breaking Dawn when you first start to read it, you know that it is a fantasy
book and this is something that is not true in The Elite, this book is based on the
idea of Kings and Queens but this is something that is more realistic and is may
happen. But in some sense you could say that this is a similarity and something
that it true between each of the books. But one of the many similarities is the
strong theme in each of the books, that theme is love and love is the one thing that
almost of the characters in the book experience. Each of the characters are able to
feel the deep emotion that love holds. But the love is also different. It is shared
between different people and it is a different meaning to each person in each of the
books. The Elite shows the love between 6 girls and one man. Breaking Dawn, the
love is between Bella and Edward but then is basically projected to other characters
in the book. These characters are able to witness and understand how important the
main characters of each book are valuable to each other.
The setting in each of the books really shows how the importance of symbols makes
the setting very important. The symbols that each of the setting holds is also shown
by the characters and how they are able to add to the setting and the symbolism. In
each book the symbol is used a a gift to each of the main characters. In The Elite
America is given a bracelet. This bracelet symbolizes there love and also there
conflicts. When having one of their many conflict America shows that should doesn t
really care but in a way she also shows that even without having that bracelet she still
loves Maxon and she still thinks about him, without

Why Did the Communist Party Win the 1935 Election Simulation? In a time where
the economy is suffering and people are struggling, a strong government is needed
to help everyone achieve success. As a result, the Communist party won the 1935
election simulation because their leader addressed the concerns of nearly every
voting bloc, they had eye catching posters with a memorable slogan, and they
targeted the Conservatives, one of the main political parties. First and foremost,
Tim Buck, the leader of the Communist party, addressed the concerns of nearly
every voting bloc at the election. One of the concerns of recent immigrants was the
perception that they will work for less and are taking away jobs from the other
Canadians. Thus, Tim addressed the concern and assured a positive change, as he

Mathematics And The Importance Of Arts And Mathematics
The definition of knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired through
experience or education. The value of knowledge is the importance, worth, or
usefulness of certain knowledge. The arts and mathematics are areas of
knowledge which are considered to have different applications and value.
Mathematics is the abstract science of number, quantity, and space. Application is
an important aspect of mathematics and applied mathematics is reason based and
unambiguous; there is always a right or wrong answer. Abstract mathematics,
however, is theoretical as it extracts itself from the real world. The arts, defined as
the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, are one of
the most subjective areas of knowledge. Art has several mediums of expression
none of which can be considered right or wrong and has a social function, which is
applied through discussion and observation. In this essay, I will explore the
individual applications of these areas of knowledge and the close links they share.
Firstly, to what extent does the social function of the arts make them valuable? Art is
a creative medium for powerful and emotional human expression and its main social
function is to elicit a reaction from its viewer. A classic... Show more content on

Email Etiquette Essay
As well as focusing on the above steps with your online customer service, it is
essential to ensure you make the most of your email communication. Many
businesses overlook the effect and importance emails can have in forging good
customer relations. But the emails you send to your customers can have a big
impact, not just in terms of better customer service but also as a brand building
method. Use emails as advertising opportunity First, you need to understand that
customer service emails aren t only about aiding the customer with his or her
queries; you can also use them as a marketing device. Naturally your first priority is
on solving the problem the customer has, but the emails you send are more than a
tool to help. This means that it is important you focus on building your brand through
the emails you send and provide information to the customer that could lead to new
shopping decisions. It is important that your customer service emails have
information on your new product lines, perhaps suggestions of other products the
customer might use based on the query, and exclusive offers for the customer.
Follow the right email etiquette Businesses are not only overlooking the power of
email customer service, they are often ignoring the correct email etiquette. It is
crucial to make sure your customer service emails follow the correct format. The
most essential aspects of good email customer service etiquette include: Proper

Persuasive Essay On Why Should We Use Animals In Circus
Did you remember those days when you were so excited to hear there was a circus
stopping by your town? Did you impatiently wait for the animals to come up in
circus and to amaze you with those performances? If yes was your answer, you were
definitely not alone. There were 330 other people out of 550 respondents who
enjoyed the animal performances best, as to compare with human ones.
However, recently part of the world had been shocked with the video footage of
animals cruelty in an infamous circus. This had arisen a controversy of whether we
should use animals in circus or not. Little of us knew what exactly went behind the
circus and how the animals were trained, despite the fact that they did give the best
entertainment to mankind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feelings of terrify if they do not perform well and anxiety of the awaiting
punishments are those that motivate them to act. These feelings are basically created
by regular excessive trainings.
Tools, including bull hook, electric pads, metal rods, and drugs, are used
simultaneously in the training sessions. Elephants, despite their thick skins, are very
sensitive in several parts, particularly under their chins, behind their ears, and around
their eyes. Trainers would use these weaknesses, striking them with pointed bull
hook, as their aces to control the elephants. Teeth of the animals are plunged with
hammer, reducing the risks of trainers being bitten and make them more
manageable. Drugs are injected and given to some of the animals, particularly to
alter their moods and to stabilize them in desirable conditions. Carry forward with
the effects of the training, animals are exposed to some effects, both physiologically
and psychologically. On physiological effects, each of the animals requires its own
unique and specific needs for diet, health, veterinary care, and social interaction.
However, circuses train animals in similar ways, compelling them to live and travel
under same conditions. In addition, the intense heat during the summer and freezing
cold during the winter induce animals to die when they travel from one city to
another. The poor ventilation inside the cage also leads to animals
Minority Research Paper
Description of the Market
Market specifics need to be carefully analyzed and marketers should become
familiar with the data for each. In order to market a brand or specific goods/services,
marketers should be sensitive to each group and shouldn t be afraid to tap into each
market. Below is information on the three largest minority groups in the United States
and what each one prefers.
African Americans
The total numbers in the US is 42 million ( United States Census Bureau ).
African Americans make up 13.6% of the total US population ( United States Census

The percentage of Hispanic Americans 25 and older that hold a bachelors degree or
higher is 13% ( United States Census Bureau ). That is the lowest amongst the three
groups.
The median income per year was $37,759 ( United States Census Bureau ).
Hispanic Americans are concentrated in the South and the West geographically. About
50% of the population lives in California, Texas, and Florida. California has the
highest than any other state, which is 14 million ( infoplease ).
Examples of brands that have a higher than average purchase rate among Hispanic
Americans are Corona, Sunsilk, OPI, Ouidad, and Goya (Genuario).
Specific products that have above average usage for this group are small appliances,
footwear, furniture, and food.
The best media to use in order to target this group is through Spanish television
networks and printed media.
BUSINESS POTENTIAL
African American:
The African American community is a very important market because of their great
spending trends and buying power. Their buying power is estimated to reach $1.1
trillion in a few years ( Multi ethnic Demographics ). This ethnic group consists of 43
million individuals and marketers should be worried if they haven t tapped into this
ever growing market ( United States Census Bureau ).

Christmas Island Gender Roles
As a remote island country of only 2,205 inhabitants, it makes sense that most people
have never heard of the country. Christmas Island, considered a part of Southeast
Asia, is located in the Indian Ocean off the southern coast of Indonesia. To get an
idea on the size of this minuscule island in comparison to Washington DC, the 138.9
km long coastline is roughly three quarters the size of the U.S. capital city. There are
two seasons that this tropical island experiences throughout the year: a wet season
with monsoons all throughout the months of December to April, and a dry season
the remainder of the year with trade winds that cool down the island. Most of
Christmas Islands coastline is made up of sharp, steep cliffs, making it difficult...

The people of Christmas Island live what I would call a modernized Victorian
lifestyle in that woman are allotted the right to work, but gender roles are still very
much prominent. There is no law against discrimination in the workplace and that
causes difficulty for women when they are looking for work. In this country, men
complete all the work while women stay home, tending to the family and their home.
Marriage is still arranged in Christmas Island, although in the more urban areas of the
island, love matches are becoming more accepted. Virginity tests are still performed
on brides, although the church frowns down upon them. The people of Christmas
Island hold high importance in family, so divorce is not a very common practice in
this country.
It is uncommon on the island to make direct eye contact with another person, as
well as it is for one to look at a person of high status or cut between the gaze of
talking individuals. Making direct eye contact in this country, oddly enough, is a
sign of disrespect. Parents also do not allow their children to cry or have temper

Technology And The Cell Phone
Wearing your computer may not be a future fashion statement so much as a way to
carry the most ubiquitous personal electronic device with us wherever we may
roam. Gear lust of the wearable sort stretches back to Bat Man s utility belt:
technology you could take with you on the go. Today, we carry the modern version
of a Star Trek communicator (the cell phone) a device that is increasingly
indispensable. Alongside the cell phone are a host of other handheld gadgets that
would have been science fictiona few short years ago: child locators, universal remote
controls (now capable of turning the AC down on hot summer days, opening the
miniblinds, and controlling our increasingly complex home entertainment systems,
just to name a few standard jobs), portable CD and DVD players, and personal
organizers. But where does our infatuation with portable technology come from? In
the 1980 s, during the era of Reaganomics, computers became personal and profitable.
Until the first generation of the so called home computers , computers had been
anything but personal. Most of them were million dollar mammoths that took up
whole floors of buildings and took an engineering degree just to find the power
button. Large corporations like IBM and Xerox were the only entities outside
government agencies and research facilities that could afford computers ironic, since
many of the same corporations would miss the boat when it came to initial
investments in the PC market. The Internet destined
Women In 1001 Arabian Nights
The Presentation of Women in 1001 Arabian Nights 1001 Arabian Nights, also
commonly referred to as The Arabian Nights, is a collection of tales from the
Middle East that were told orally over the course of many centuries before being
recorded. The Arabian Nights contained stories about many subjects, among them
being love, magic, and wealth. One of the most interesting prospects of the
collection is the role that women play in them. In the today s world, women are
portrayed differently all over the globe. In the tales, the presentations of these
women vary greatly. There is a direct link to the ladies in The Arabian Nights and
what a culture expects a womanto be like. Three common characteristics of a woman
character in 1001 Arabian Nights are their deceitfulness, atrocity, and inferiority....

Joan Of Arc, By Jeanne D Arc

Arc, better known as Joan of Arc, was born on the 6th of January in Domremy,
which is a village in France. At the time France was in conflict with England. This
encounter was better known as The Hundred Years War. The Hundred Years War
was a series of conflicts which took place from 1337 to 1453 by the House of
Plantagenet, rulers of the Kingdom of England, against the House of Valois, rulers
of the Kingdom of France, for control of the Kingdom of France. Both of Joan s
parents were farmers, she was not taught to read or write, but her god loving
mother instilled in her a deep love for the Catholic Church and its teachings which
is what played a role in Joan being known as the heroine of France by playing a
very significant role in the Hundred Years War. She received visions from St
Michael and from God regarding the war in which she promised Charles, who was
heir to the throne at the time, that she would give him his rightful seat on the throne.
At the time there were false accusations that Charles was not supposed to be King,
so Henry V was king over both England and France. In 1429 Joan convinced Charles,
the Dauphin (heir to the crown) to send her to the battles, saying she had received
visions from God telling her to drive out the English. Joan brought an inspiring spirit
to the battle that increased the soldiers morale to take the battle

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this experiment is to scrutinize the method of the
photolithography during the wafer processing. There are two parts in this
experiment. The first part is to coat the wafer using resist element with the help of
spin coating technique at different spin speed then soft bake it and then measuring
the thickness of the wafer using Ellipsometer to know the resistance formed on the
surface of the wafer. Second we apply the photoresist to the wafer then it is placed in

The resist layer is selectively exposed to a form of radiation, such as ultraviolet light,
electrons, or x rays using an exposure tool and mask to effect the desired selective
exposure. The patterns in the resist are formed when the resist is developed so that
the areas of resist remaining after development protect the substrate regions which
they cover. Locations from which resist has been removed are subjected to one or
more additive or subtractive processes that transfer the pattern onto the substrate
surface.
II. PHOTOLITHOGRAPHY PROCESS:
1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Substrate preparation is intended to improve the
adhesion of the photoresist material to the substrate. This is accomplished by one or
more of the following processes: substrate cleaning to remove contamination
dehydration bake to remove water addition of an adhesion promoter. Figure 1:
Example of a typical sequence of lithographic processing steps
2. PHOTORESIST COATING: A thin, uniform coating of photoresist at a specific,
well controlled thickness is accomplished by the seemingly simple process of spin
coating. The photoresist, rendered into a liquid form by dissolving the solid
components in a solvent, is poured onto the wafer, which is then spun on a turntable
at a high speed producing the desired film. Photoresist is applied to the center of the
oxidized silicon wafer that is held down by a vacuum chuck.
Juvenile Criminal Justice Is Much Like The Art Of
Parenting
Retribution and Rehabilitation in Hopes for Reintegration The topic of juvenile
criminal justice is much like the art of parenting. The main concern is figuring out
how to deter the child from the same action without letting them get away with too
much and not crushing their spirits. SUCH AS when a child goes beyond the set
boundaries for him while playing outside which leads to hurting another child, the
child should be disciplined to be deterred from crossing those boundaries again, but
that discipline shouldn t scare them away from ever going outside or playing again.
There is a large range of beliefs on what types of punishmentshould be given to
juvenile criminals depending on their age and crime. The requirements of retribution
are different across the United States but that doesn t mean it s not a big issue.
{Maybe a statistic here? This paper is an accumulation of various sources that revolve
around rehabilitating juvenile criminals and adjusting the juvenile justice system and
prevention programs through researcher, Richard A. Mendal s five suggestions.
Juvenile criminals should be responsibly punished for their crime but be able to go
through rehabilitation with the goal to reintegrate into society again.
{This paragraph is basically a summary of the whole paper, is that okay to keep?}
Rehabilitation is a complex issue that must involve thought through, analyzed,
practical goals, techniques, and responsibilities within the juvenile justice system,

I. Introduction
Bridging the distance between nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Gerard Manley
Hopkins poetry is of great significance. As often the case with innovators and artists
who are ahead of their times, Gerard Manley Hopkins was torn by contradictions and
his poems regarded as unconventional for the historical period. His works are
specifically marked by the varied use of linguistic features and rhythmic patterns

Some of the recurrent themes and motifs in Hopkins poetry include the idea that the
world resembles a book written by God, through which he expresses himself in order
to provide humans with an opportunity to understand and approach him (Gardner
11). In God s Grandeur Hopkins can be seen to express his concern about the
spiritual crisis of the Victorian period. During this time of urbanization and
industrialization, Hopkins voiced his distress about human indifference to
destruction. This poem is one of the very few which he wrote during the time when
he served as a priest.
The form of God s Grandeur is an Italian sonnet, but with some alteration. Even
though Hopkins does not use sprung rhythm here, he varies his sonnet structure from
the traditional iambic pentameter. Typically, a sonnet contains 3 quatrains (4
lines) and a couplet (2 lines); the Italian sonnet is characterized by having 1 octave
(8 lines) and 1 sestet (6 lines). In God s Grandeur a similar pattern is followed,
however, Hopkins presents a technique he often employs in other works as well, that
of using the octet to present a personal or a sensory experience and the octet in order
to provide some reflection on the topic (Gardner 221).
God s Grandeur paints a poignant image of the destructiveness of contemporary
human life, in particular, in the second quatrain. The second quatrain also presents a
feature that is specific for Hopkins and different from the rhythm of the Italian

different. Yet, is hard to think this young man was mature enough at that age
because I have read books and information about the human brain and how
develops. I also know women were married off at the age of fourteen and had
babies around that age. All these facts about history, once put together become

The Pros And Cons Of World History
World history is the study of direct and indirect interconnections, interdependences
and linkages of states, civilizations, cultures, religions and race. The study of world
history allows historians to inspect history on a wider scope, transcending state and

similar trends in population as it is growing more ethnically and racially diverse.
Families coming into Utah are immigrants that do not speak English at home. While
the majority of Utahan s are White, Utah Quick Facts from the U.S. Census Bureau

Not only is the ELL population growing, but the diversity of students is growing as

Hyperthyroidism Of The Geriatric Patient
Hyperthyroidism in the Geriatric Patient
As we all know, the body goes through many changes as it ages. One of these
changes is related to the thyroid gland and its functions. The thyroid gland in the
elderly will atrophy causing changes in its hormone production. According to an
article by Makin, V., 2015, Thyroiddisorders affect more than 10 percent of patients
over the age of 80. About 1.3 percent of those over age 65 developed overt
hyperthyroidism with suppressed pituitary thyrotropin (TSH) and elevated free T3/T4
levels, and about 2.1 percent develop subclinical hyperthyroidism (SH). Even though
thyroid disorders can be common among the elderly, it is still hard to diagnose and
treat because of its uncharacteristic presentations and the presence of other conditions
that the patient may have. The diagnosis of hyperthyroidism is often overlooked and
is less common in the geriatric population than other thyroid conditions. To inquire
about the diagnosis of Hyperthyroidism in the geriatric population a real case of a 70
year old female patient was selected from the Internal Medicine department of the
University of Miami. To further evaluate, patient history of abnormality, the physical
assessment that led to the identification of the abnormality, examination technique
used, and possible expected laboratory findings and interpretations will be discussed

of sage is an efficient method to limit the growth of bacteria. Although, figure 1

aspects of using thyme regularly then sage. Thyme extract used in abundance can
cause heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness.
In addition, the volatile oils present in thyme leaves may promote slowed heart rate
and rapid breathing in certain individuals. These negative side effects can be

International Space Station(ISS). On the other hand, sage plants have fewer side

As a result of the Europeans killing their people and stealing their land, the
Aborigines did fight back. Even though settlers seemingly had much better weapons,
Indigenous Australians had a much better understanding of the land they lived on and
had other means of resisting the ways of the Europeans. Pemulwuy, for example, was
respected by both his people, and the white men who opposed him. He fought for the
lives of his people, to protect them and preserve the beliefs and practices that the
Europeans wanted to eradicate. The Indigenous Australians culture is still often
taught and practiced these days, so even though Pemulwuy was murdered in 1802,
along with many others, the impact of their efforts was necessary for the
development of the Australian multicultural society.
The many differences between Europeans and Aborigines were often cause for major
conflicts between the two
Agile, Scrum And Kanban
The Daily Stand Up
Agile, Scrum and Kanban
There has been a lot said in the last few years about Agile project management
methodologies, and I have found that the general feeling is that Agile although not
perfect tends to provide better results in software development projects than
waterfall and other methodologies. People tend to be very opinionated about it, and
in my experience there three dominant positions about Agile: you either love it, hate
it or you don t care, in other words, you do not believe in methodologies at all, you
think they are all a waste of time and effort.
I can see where the different of views come from, and in my experience I have been
successful working with Agile, specifically Scrum, in software projects, but ... Show

I personally really like Agile, and I have worked very well in teams using Scrum.
Yes, we did have problems too, customers with bugs and we also fell behind on the
schedule sometimes. But applying Scrum correctly has allowed us to be informed,
committed and react quickly to those issues. Everybody in the team is in sync and
knows what to expect, stakeholders feel informed and involved, and you can
measure progress and forecast releases with a certain degree of certainty. All this
with what I would consider very little friction, bureaucracy and with what I would
consider a short learning curve, especially compared to other methodologies and
frameworks such as Rational Unified Process (RUP).
Agile, Scrum, Kanban and other methodologies are not necessarily perfect nor
complete, but they may be a good match, especially if you are running a software
project. To be honest, after years writing critical path method (CPM) / Gantt based
project management software, I can see that there is a value for every methodology
and it depends heavily on the characteristics of the project, and I think you can apply
Agile methodologies to projects outside the software and IT industry. The Kanban
software development methodology is inspired by the Kanban

Identifying Your Competitive Advantage
Intro To Business

I believe that one of the main reasons why this restaurant is so successful is the fact
that people who eat here enjoy the unique environment and want to come back. The
design at all Cheesecake Factories is very elegant and the architecture at each
restaurant is more developed and fancy. People often come back for more because,
even though they know the prices are slightly higher than at other restaurants, the
meal sizes are bigger and of a better quality. The Cheesecake Factorytakes pride in
being known for giving their customers large portions of food which is why many of
them take the leftovers back home with them all the time.
One of the strength is the common knowledge of cheesecakes. When people think of
Cheesecake Factory the number one thing that comes to their minds is the
cheesecake. There are so many different kinds of cheesecakes and with this amount of
varieties to choose from, it definitely is one of the most significant strengths that the
Cheesecake Factory has. I believe that
The Cheesecake Factory should take an advantage of this strength and start selling
all the kinds of cheesecake they make to stores around the country. This will be a
way to over come the weakness of advertising. If they sell in stores, and even other
places they will also be advertising at the same time. They have so many different
types to market for everyone. They can make an oven baked version

approach is flawed since she is once again looking at outstanding debt, which

already know that the market yield exceeds the coupon rate.

thus could be overstating the premium. пѓј Arithmetic average ignores estimation
error and available data is limited. пѓј Arithmetic average works best for

Changes And Effects Of The Hundred Years War
The Hundred Years War is the seventh longest war in history lasting one hundred
and sixteen years in which there were 3.5 million deaths. The Hundred Years War
was between France and England from 1337 to 1453 over the succession to the
French throne. When Charles IV of France died without sons in 1328, his closest
male relative was King Edward III of England. Isabella of France claimed the French
throne for her son, but the French rejected it. Philip of Valois, first cousin of Charles
IV, succeeded the throne as King Philip VI of France. For about nine years the English
had accepted the Valois succession to the French throne but finally they rejected it
and Edward III claimed the throne. Englandpoured all of its resources and manpower

There were many different weapons, some old behind established and some new
and created by the kingdoms. The creation of the longbow changed the course of
the war, giving a distinct advantage to the English. This weapon was utilized to its
full potential because it changed the feudal armies to small archery based troops.
There were also developments of other weapons that the English and French did
not create but used the weapons for the first time in the location. The effect
changed the way they traded and with whom they traded. New places began to
trade with France and England so they were exposed to different cultures and
societies. France and England took these new weapons and made advancements to
them like adding a spear to the end of the gun or creating stronger bullets.21 New
believes began to develop throughout France and England including the belief of
nationalism throughout the society. This new belief changed society drastically and
made for a strong and powerful monarch in both France and England. Because of
these new believes army sizes grew which in turn caused more deaths but also
increased manpower for the king. These believes solved the crisis because the king
needed troops and the commoners needed money. It also caused France and England
to believe that their country was superior to all others and therefore more powerful

Essay On Racism In America

  • 1. Essay On Racism In America Crafting an essay on the pervasive issue of racism in America is undeniably challenging. The subject matter is complex, deeply rooted in historical context, and highly sensitive. Delving into the intricacies of racism demands a nuanced understanding of social, political, and cultural dynamics, making it a task that requires extensive research and thoughtful analysis. The difficulty arises from the need to navigate through the historical legacy of slavery, the civil rights movement, systemic inequalities, and contemporary manifestations of racism. Tackling these issues requires a careful examination of various perspectives, acknowledging the experiences of marginalized communities, and addressing the uncomfortable truths that underlie the persistence of racism. Moreover, the emotional weight of the topic adds an extra layer of complexity. Writing about racism necessitates empathy, cultural competence, and an awareness of one's own biases. It involves grappling with uncomfortable truths, challenging societal norms, and advocating for change. Striking the right balance between academic rigor and emotional resonance is a delicate task that demands both skill and sensitivity. In conclusion, composing an essay on racism in America is no simple feat. It requires a deep understanding of the historical context, a commitment to addressing uncomfortable truths, and the ability to navigate the emotional complexities of the subject. However, by undertaking this challenging endeavor, one contributes to an important dialogue that aims to dismantle systemic injustice and foster a more inclusive society. • 2. Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter; examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live. This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z. It is also important to note that the lines above are being told from the point of view of Carter

A daily newspaper Le courriere francias made special printings of ChГ©ret posters in a convenient size (22 x14 ) as presents to their subscribers (Abdy, 1969, p.171) However, the size of posters not only affected legibility and who could own them, it also affected the amount of tax placed upon them. All posters which were to be placed in the streets would be subjected to a government tax. This was varied according to size; the rate was 6 centimes for the Вј colombier, 12 centimes for the ВЅ colombier, 18 for the jesus and the colombier and 24 centimes for all large posters. To get an idea on the size of this minuscule island in comparison to Washington DC, the 138.9 km long coastline is roughly three quarters the size of the U.S. capital city. There are two seasons that this tropical island experiences throughout the year: a wet season with monsoons all throughout the months of December to April, and a dry season the remainder of the year with trade winds that cool down the island. The people of Christmas Island live what I would call a modernized Victorian lifestyle in that woman are allotted the right to work, but gender roles are still very much prominent. There is no law against discrimination in the workplace and that causes difficulty for women when they are looking for work. In this country, men complete all the work while women stay home, tending to the family and their home. Marriage is still arranged in Christmas Island, although in the more urban areas of the island, love matches are becoming more accepted. Virginity tests are still performed on brides, although the church frowns down upon them. The people of Christmas Island hold high importance in family, so divorce is not a very common practice in this country. It is uncommon on the island to make direct eye contact with another person, as well as it is for one to look at a person of high status or cut between the gaze of talking individuals. Making direct eye contact in this country, oddly enough, is a sign of disrespect. Parents also do not allow their children to cry or have temper

But where does our infatuation with portable technology come from? In the 1980 s, during the era of Reaganomics, computers became personal and profitable. Until the first generation of the so called home computers , computers had been anything but personal. Most of them were million dollar mammoths that took up whole floors of buildings and took an engineering degree just to find the power button. At the time France was in conflict with England. This encounter was better known as The Hundred Years War. The Hundred Years War was a series of conflicts which took place from 1337 to 1453 by the House of Plantagenet, rulers of the Kingdom of England, against the House of Valois, rulers of the Kingdom of France, for control of the Kingdom of France. Both of Joan s parents were farmers, she was not taught to read or write, but her god loving mother instilled in her a deep love for the Catholic Church and its teachings which is what played a role in Joan being known as the heroine of France by playing a very significant role in the Hundred Years War. She received visions from St Michael and from God regarding the war in which she promised Charles, who was heir to the throne at the time, that she would give him his rightful seat on the throne. At the time there were false accusations that Charles was not supposed to be King, so Henry V was king over both England and France. In 1429 Joan convinced Charles, the Dauphin (heir to the crown) to send her to the battles, saying she had received visions from God telling her to drive out the English. Joan brought an inspiring spirit to the battle that increased the soldiers morale to take the battle

There are two parts in this experiment. The first part is to coat the wafer using resist element with the help of spin coating technique at different spin speed then soft bake it and then measuring the thickness of the wafer using Ellipsometer to know the resistance formed on the surface of the wafer. The resist layer is selectively exposed to a form of radiation, such as ultraviolet light, electrons, or x rays using an exposure tool and mask to effect the desired selective exposure. The patterns in the resist are formed when the resist is developed so that the areas of resist remaining after development protect the substrate regions which they cover. Locations from which resist has been removed are subjected to one or more additive or subtractive processes that transfer the pattern onto the substrate surface. II. PHOTOLITHOGRAPHY PROCESS: 1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Substrate preparation is intended to improve the adhesion of the photoresist material to the substrate. This is accomplished by one or more of the following processes: substrate cleaning to remove contamination dehydration bake to remove water addition of an adhesion promoter. Figure 1: Example of a typical sequence of lithographic processing steps 2. PHOTORESIST COATING: A thin, uniform coating of photoresist at a specific, well controlled thickness is accomplished by the seemingly simple process of spin coating. The photoresist, rendered into a liquid form by dissolving the solid components in a solvent, is poured onto the wafer, which is then spun on a turntable at a high speed producing the desired film. Photoresist is applied to the center of the oxidized silicon wafer that is held down by a vacuum chuck.

Some of the recurrent themes and motifs in Hopkins poetry include the idea that the world resembles a book written by God, through which he expresses himself in order to provide humans with an opportunity to understand and approach him (Gardner 11). In God s Grandeur Hopkins can be seen to express his concern about the spiritual crisis of the Victorian period. During this time of urbanization and industrialization, Hopkins voiced his distress about human indifference to destruction. This poem is one of the very few which he wrote during the time when he served as a priest. The form of God s Grandeur is an Italian sonnet, but with some alteration. Even though Hopkins does not use sprung rhythm here, he varies his sonnet structure from the traditional iambic pentameter. Typically, a sonnet contains 3 quatrains (4 lines) and a couplet (2 lines); the Italian sonnet is characterized by having 1 octave (8 lines) and 1 sestet (6 lines). In God s Grandeur a similar pattern is followed, however, Hopkins presents a technique he often employs in other works as well, that of using the octet to present a personal or a sensory experience and the octet in order to provide some reflection on the topic (Gardner 221). God s Grandeur paints a poignant image of the destructiveness of contemporary human life, in particular, in the second quatrain. The second quatrain also presents a feature that is specific for Hopkins and different from the rhythm of the Italian
