Compare And Contrast Child Care Practices In Austria Vs Usa
Childcare Practices in Austria vs. USA Nurseries in Austria are tailored specifically for children up to
the age of three. A group of four school employees usually take care of about 15 children. In Vienna
alone, there are 549 nurseries taking care of 5000 children. Once your child reaches the age of three,
they graduate into kindergarten, then they go on to primary school at the age of six. In the nurseries,
children are taught physical activities and cultural practices, and they are first introduced to the
English language and computers. In kindergarten, there are twenty five children per group. After
school services are typically found nearby primary schools. There, the staff concentrates on various
activities, including homework (Practical Life in Vienna). Similarities in childcare practices in Austria
vs. the USA include how informal babysitting is. It is done on an informal basis in both countries
(Practical Life in Vienna). They both offer childcare facilities for working parents, and both are
equally expensive at the preschool level and below. Both countries have nannies for more wealthy
families to hire to help take care of their children while they are away at work (Childcare in the US).

Gender Inequality In Latin American Culture
Gender Inequality in Latin American Culture
Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death Foretold details how Latin American culture lead to
the murder of the character Santiago Nasar caused by a series of events. Marquez s depiction of the
patriarchal society in the novel reveals the role of men and women. In particular, family, men and
women expectations, honor, and sex portrayed in the novel are further utilized to reveal the
inequalities between both groups.
Consequently, Marquez recounts the traditional family in Columbian culture to unveil gender
expectations. At the beginning of the novel, for instance, Santiago Nasar s family viewed Santiago as a
child of convenience who lived without a single moment of happiness . The pessimistic tone implied
ensures that during this time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along the novel, the narrator reveals moments where honor must be maintained. Marquez mentions
that Pura Vicario and her husband accompanied [Angela] to watch over her honor when it was less
than two months before her marriage. Connotatively, Angela s honor had to be protected before her
marriage communicating that her honor was actually her virginity rather to Beyardo, his honor
involves that virginity of the women in his family. Violence due to the loss of Angela s virginity is
evident when Beyardo returns her and her mother beats her up for disgracing her family . Imagery
incorporated describes how infuriated her mother really was because of the consequences to come
involving the critics in town. Moreover, the loss of Angela s virginity is what ultimately leads her twin
brother to seek revenge in order to restore her honor. The narrator clarifies this by revealing that the
twins were comforted by the honor of having done their duty . This helps clarify that the twins were
relieved and viewed the action as a duty rather than a murder, depicting the importance of killing

Driver Fatigue Essay
ABSTRACT
Driver fatigue resulting from sleep deprivation or sleep disorders is an important factor in the
increasing number of the accidents on today s roads. Driving a vehicle involves coordination of the
locomotor system along with the healthy function of the brain. When the driver feels drowsy, it may
unsettle the balance and may lead to erratic driving causing potential accidents.
The main aim of the driver drowsiness detection system is to design a monitoring system that
processes the image to indicate the current driving aptitude of the driver and raise a warning alarm if
the driver is fatigued.

fatigue accidents and long journeys on monotonous roads, particularly motor ways, are the most likely
to result in a driver falling asleep.
Studies indicate that 8 to 9 hours of extended nocturnal sleep are needed to resolve sleepiness caused
by decreased sleep time. Motor vehicle accidents related to fatigue, drowsy driving, and falling asleep
at the wheel are particularly common but often underestimated.
In recent years, the use of intelligent systems in cars has developed considerably. These systems use

Social Networking Addiction
The last decade witnessed an explosion of social networks such as Myspace and Facebook, which
added a new social dimension to the web. While such networks have made people, communities and
groups with shared interests stay more connected, Internet addiction and social network addiction in
particular also started being recognized as psychological disorders all over the world. While several
90′s studies focused on Internet addiction, the next decade saw the growth of a new addiction related
to all manner of social networking sites, especially the current king of the jungle: Facebook. In a
recent study from the University of Athens, Greek psychiatrists argued that a woman who had gone as

It has been over 13 years since pioneer Kimberley S. Young adapted the DSM IV criteria for gambling
addictions to define Internet addiction. While her proposed diagnosis criteria have virally spread (to
use a familiar term related to social networking) all over the world, it seems that the scientific
community is not yet ready to reach a consensus as to what this type of addiction entails. Social
networks have changed the ways we interact with each other enormously. One thing that has changed
dramatically is the concept of meeting people. This was brought to my attention a couple of weeks
ago, when I met a musician for the first time, whom I had casually crossed online a couple of times.
Oddly enough, none of us acted as if this were a first meeting. Another thing that called my attention
was when another musician said from the stage thank you for coming; because a lot of people say they
are attending on Facebook but they never show up. This also made me think about how much time we
are devoting to talking about Facebook, even when we are offline, and how many times we log on to
Facebook to show our friends something, even during actual person to person meetings or social
gatherings. Every drug has a gratification component, and, if social networks are causing an addiction,
they must have one too. A very

Essay On Should Police Wear Body Cameras
Over the past year there have been many situations between police officers and civilians that we don t
exactly know what happened because it someone s word over another. In August 2014, an unarmed
black teenager, Michael Brown, was shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Some witnesses
confirmed the police officer s claim that he shot the teenager under self defense. While others claimed
that the victim posed no threat to the officer and that the shooting was uncalled for. The result of this
was that the police officer wasn t charged with a crime. If that officer had been wearing a body
camera, while he was on duty, we could see with our own eyes if Michael Brown was threatening to
the officer or if the shooting was unjustified. Police officers should wear body cameras while on duty
because the cameras would hold police accountable to their actions, prevent violence, and would
improve the public s perspective on police officers.
To begin with, if police officers wore body cameras they would hold them accountable for their
actions. The article of Should Police wear Body Cameras, explained that body cameras say that they ...

Just like Las Casas, Angelina Grimke and her sister Sarah...
Just like Las Casas, Angelina Grimke and her sister Sarah are two very famous women that created
history together. While Bartolome De Las Casas changed the Latin Community forever, these sisters
changed the way Anti Slavery was protested. They not only wanted to free the enslaved, but they
wanted to end discrimination throughout the United States. The Grimke sisters were not just famous
for their avocation against slavery, they were also among the first abolitionists to acknowledge the
importance of women s rights. These two icons were not separate from the other advocates because of
their declamatory and legendary talents, nor their never ending assurance of the causes of racial and

Similarly to Las Casas freeing his slaves, under a small congregation Angelina abandoned materialism
and began establishment, and asceticism, moral and religious reflection. Questioning the reality of her
changing the world from Charleston, in November of 1829, like her sister, she moved to Philadelphia.
The two sisters became activists in the movement. During the Anti Slavery conventions in
Philadelphia violent riots and attacks would take place, so William Garrison of the Liberator had
published an appeal to renounce all the mob violence and Angelina saw her chance to support the
cause. She sent a letter that states, The ground upon which you stand is holy ground, never never
surrender it... if you surrender it, the hope of the slave is extinguished. Also stating, This is a cause
worth dying for. (Sanders) It seems that Angelina was one of many that felt that the fight had to
continue even if people were being attacked and persecuted. The public career of this heroic woman
began the day that issue of Liberator came out. It is amazing to see women of that era stand up as if it
is modern day times. At a time when woman had just about as much rights as a slave, these women
created an example for all women in their time as they were the first women to serve as agents for the
America Anti Slavery Society. In 1837 they began the start of their long speech tour in New York

La Republica De Nicaragua Research Paper
Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to provide a brief overview of the administration of justice in modern day
Nicaragua. The primary goal is to furnish the reader with an uncomplicated idea about this country s
method of administering justice. In particular, it s legal history, legal tradition, and legal system
guiding the police and court system. As such, the reader should develop a basic idea of Nicaragua s
justice system compare to the United States of America.
Historical, Political, and Cultural Background
La Republica de Nicaragua (the Republic of Nicaragua) is located between the Caribbean Sea to the
east, Pacific Ocean to the west with Honduras to the north and Costa Rica in the south. The country is
named after Nicarao, who was once the chief of an indigenous tribe which existed during the late
1400s and early 1500s. Nicaragua gained independence from Spain in 1821, and later became an
independent republic in 1838. (see www.infoplease.org, 2007, para. 1). The capital city is Managua,
citizens are eligible to vote at age 16, and the primary language is Spanish. Mr. Daniel Ortega

Ethical Issues Of Technology, Internet, And Computer...
As technology advances, human beings are inevitably affected. The concern and debate today is
whether this effect is beneficial or harmful. Computer technology, Internet, and video games are
examples of advancements and each of these involve ethical and practical concerns as to how they
affect human beings. Since emerging technology indirectly alters lives, such alterations trigger most
debates today.
First, computer technology raises ethical concerns because it has a constantly changing nature and so
there are no specific sets of moral codes (Berzai 1). Dealing with ethical dilemmas related to computer
technology is difficult because there is no overarching positive ethical force in the American business
community. There are four main areas of computer ethics: computer crime, responsibility for
computer failure, protection of computer property and privacy of companies and customers. (Berzai
2). The area of computer ethics, which is under most debate today, is computer crime and privacy. For
example, unauthorized computer entry jeopardizes a company s trade secrets and data. An employee
who wants to sell such secrets to a competitor can commit such a crime and this crime involves
jeopardizing company s privacy. An individual s privacy can be jeopardized in the crime of hacking.
Hacking deals with the ethical dilemma of who actually owns the information and who should have
access to it. Sometimes universities require students to hack into the university s system to prove

Napoleon After The French Revolution
Before Napoleon came to power in France, the state of the Jewish people was uncertain. Some years
they flourished as a community, but some years they fell victim to anti Semitism and hatred. They
were constantly moving from country to country as they were continually getting expelled from one
and accepted to another in a very short time. Their fortunes changed for the better after the French
revolution in 1789. In that year, the French national assembly passed the Declaration of the Rights of
Man and Citizen. The Jews were not specifically named in the declaration, but somehow were
recognized. The Sephardi Jews got emancipation two months afterward the Declaration and Ashkenazi
Jews, two years after that. These freedoms only happened after long debates between Monsieur
Clermont Tonnerre who represented the Jews and Monsieur De La Faire, who represented the French
government, who did not want to give the Jews emancipation. ... Show more content on

He established the Parisian Sanhedrin and the Assembly of Jewish notables to help integrate Jews into
French society and help the French people integrate Jews into their daily lives. Although Napoleon
was very good to the Jews, there were some things that he did that harmed them. One example is that
he made the assembly of Jewish notables on Shabbat so the Jews had a very hard time coming. He
also passed the Infamous decree that harmed the Jews. This decree took away from the freedoms that
the Jews had in France and put most Jews into poverty. (French Revolution) In France, during the time
of the Jewish emancipation, the Jews fell victim to rampant anti Semitism that made them feel
alienated from society with tactics such as the Damascus affair, the Dreyfus affair and anti Semitic
media. Even though they had many obstacles, they thrived in many ways in areas such as economic

The Good Roads Bill By President Woodrow Wilson
The Good Roads Bill was signed in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson, but this law took decades of
work by cycling activists to go from an idea to the oval office. The first mention of the poor road
quality in America came on December 30, 1894 After this mention, the Good Roads Movement starts
to spread. On May 26, 1895, the movement begins to spread to New York via political and democratic
power. In mid 1985, in a time where good roads was growing momentum noted by the Gossip of the

greater importance than it previously enjoyed. The Good Roads movement was spreading throughout

During this time, a New Jersey and Pennsylvania boarder town became a Good Roads Success story.
After putting $40,000 of roads in the city, a New Jersey town saw an increase in change and real estate
prices. There was significantly more crops being moved in and out of the city due to the improved
road quality. This success story became an example that the Good Roads Movement brought up
continually when fighting for legislation, and it happened as early as 1896 (6). The Good Roads
movement eventually had to get politically involved to lobby for money for roads. The cyclists started
to partner with the farmers to influence regulation around the state of New York. An employee of the
Agricultural Department of the Government said, the bicycle did more toward the cause of good roads
than all the agitators since the time of Adam. This employee was saying that cyclists were the biggest
activists for good roads since MacAdams engineered the MacAdams roads. The employee continues
to say the the government is looking to continue improving roads. Based on the two quotes here, it is
clear that cyclists in the Good Roads Movement helped persuade the government to create better roads
(8). By October, new roads, bridges, and education policies were being put into place. Cyclists worked

Descriptive Essay About Cats
I hated cats, I disliked the way they smell or always want to cuddle and how they like to dig their
sharp claws into your leather chairs. Everybody has their Monday rituals, sometimes it s coffee or
jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the ordinary. Each day, my ritual begins at six in
the morning with me walking my ten cats down Canal Street to Pet Central to buy cat food. I used to
despise cats until I became their caretaker after a tragedy. This is my story about how I became the
man on Canal Street with 10 felines.
I remember going over to my Mom s apartment on that cold and soggy day in the middle of Fall. As I
entered the house the foul smell of felines engulfed my nose and I began to sneeze all over my Mother
s furniture. I yelled to the top of my lungs I HATE CATS! to which she scolded me and said At least
they keep me company unlike you in a sarcastic voice. Then she went into the kitchen to retrieve the
roast she had been preparing all day. The smell of the golden roast helped me forget the stench of her
cats. As we ate she told me about her day and how she had bought a new cat, to which I replied in a
frustrated tone, You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count after 7 and it can t be healthy for
your breathing with all this dandruff and cat hair floating in the air I stammered. She bypassed my
remark, then blurted out I invited you over because something happened today at then doctor s office

Pursuing An Education For Public Policy
During an economics lecture the professor said to my class I do not know whether the increasing
income inequality is an issue or not . I was perplexed. I thought the goal of Economics, as a social
science, was to achieve the maximum welfare of people while efficiently using resources. So how is
income inequality that renders many people worse off, not an issue? By not stating his opinion, he
wished to remain unbiased. However, if everyone were to keep their understanding of justice and
inequality to themselves without meaningful dialogues, no societal issue would gain attention or
action.
I felt my theoretical background required training in practical applications to conceive working
solutions to some of the most pressing problems of our time. Realizing I want to be equipped with the
tools necessary to take appropriate measures when the welfare of individuals is compromised, I knew
I should seek an education in Public Policy. With my interdisciplinary academic background, I aspire
to contribute to the field of Public Policy by bringing a transnational feminist perspective to the socio
economic policy discourse. Therefore, there is no better place for me to pursue my doctoral degree in
Public Policy than at Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
My experiences in research and community service have molded my policy interests and prepared me
for my graduate education in policy formulation and analysis. My joint research paper on the lives of

Essay Safety Problems In Americas Commercial Airline...
1989 has been a year in which both aviation experts and spokesmen. For the flying public have
expressed intensified concern over what they perceive to be a substantial deterioration in the safety of
America s passenger airline operations. In the first nine months of 1989 alone, there have been ten
fatal air crashes involving large transport category planes owned by U.S. based carriers (Ott p.28).
This compares disfavorably to the first nine of months of 1988, when but two such accidents took
place, and in fact, it is the highest number of death causing accidents for the American commercial
aviation industry during the 1980s (Fotos p.31). This spate of airborne tragedies has prompted
interested parties to ask a series of disturbing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the whole, it is, in fact, comparatively safe to fly, and even with 1989 crash incidents added to the
aggregated figures, flying is no more dangerous today than it was prior to deregulation.
The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and an array of
independent air safety experts have all probed this year s major airline accidents. Despite all of post
hoc study, they have been unable to discern a common link among them, (Ott p.28) with one major
exception. The qualification at hand refers to dramatic increase in the volume of air traffic since de
regulation. According to NTSB member John Lauber, if there is a trend in accidents, it is a trend set by
the increasing volume of air transport operations rather than any fundamental deterioration in the
margins of safety (Ott p.28). At first glance, this argument is comforting: more flights in the air simply
result in more accidents commensurate with higher traffic volumes, so that the impact of de regulation
has had only the broadest and most indirect influences upon the industry s safety record. But to ascribe
the recent rash of safety problems to the neutral effect of higher traffic volume in the wake of de
regulation and leave it at that overlooks several critical points. For example, to remain competitive,
many airlines schedule flights in clusters for the convenience of their passengers. This, in turn, as

Definition Of Maintaining Rule Of Law
V: Morality Ought
Criterion:
Maintaining Rule of Law
The rule of law is vital to keep power with the people and prevent a government from being all
powerful and oppressive.
Specific to the actor (juror)
Jurors become part of the legal system, part of the governance, so they are particularly obligated to
society as a whole.
Contention 1
Jury nullification undermines legal stability by wrongfully distributing lawmaking powers and
destroying due process and objective application. Legal expert, Erick Haynie writes:

6 This reality was explained long ago in the Supreme Court s landmark decision of Sparf Hansen v.
United States,8 7 which addressed the issue of jury nullification in the federal court system. Holding
that it is the right and duty of the trial judge to instruct the jury to follow the law, the Court wrote that:
Public and private safety alike would be in peril if the principle be established that juries in criminal
cases may, of right, [be told to] disregard the law as expounded to them by the court, and become a
law unto themselves. Under such a system, the principal function of the judge would be to preside and
keep order while jurymen, untrained in the law, would determine questions affecting life, liberty, or
property according to such legal principles as, in their judgement, were applicable to the particular
case being tried.... We must hold firmly to the doctrine that in the courts of the United States it is the
duty ofjuries in criminal cases to take the law from the court, and apply that law to the facts as they
find them to be from the evidence. The Ninth Circuit has criticized nullification arguments by counsel
as violative of the rule of law in even stronger terms: If we... allow lawyers to appeal for jury
nullification

The United States Energy Information Administration
From the moment we wake up in the morning and turn our alarm clock off, to the moment we turn the
lights off and fall asleep, we are using energy. Throughout the day an average person will use a cell
phone, a computer, a television, an oven or microwave, and many will ride in a car or bus: all of this
takes energy. Energy is even being used while we sleep to power the same alarm clock that wakes us
up each morning. Individuals in first world countries are large consumers of energy, but where does it
all come from? What powers most of our modern day conveniences? The United States Energy
Information Administration (EIA) estimates that as much as eighty two percent of the United State s
energy demand is met by using fossil fuels (Fossil Fuels), and in 2012, fossil fuels made up eighty
seven percent of the energy consumed worldwide (Gonzalez Lucky, 2013). What are fossil fuels then?
There is a common misconception that fossil fuels come from dead dinosaurs, and while this is not
actually true, fossil fuels do come from dead plans and animals, however they were dead long before
the dinosaurs roamed the earth (U.S. Department of Energy). The type of animal and plant, as well as
the varied combinations these could create, determine the type of fossil fuel that was formed (U.S.
Department of Energy): oil, natural gas, or coal. The EIA defines fossil fuels as concentrated organic
compounds found in the Earth s crust (Fossil Fuels). This means that fossil fuels are formed when

On a more positive not Pauley Perrette has three rescue dogs she is very passionate over. Pauley was
the spokesperson for a commercial through her local animal shelter Remember Me , in this
commercial sponsored by remember me, she holds her rescue dogs with love and affection as holds all
three and kisses each one in the video.
Pauley Perrette has a very unique way of using ethos within the video with 48 hours. With that being
said, she is very passionate in her works to change laws concerning stalking and the process of
prosecuting stalkers. During the course of the video it shows a clip of Pauley and California
Congressmen sitting in conversation discussing her views and changes that could be made. For
example, her tone changes and the video shifts into her efforts to change stalking laws. There is a
moment where Pauley is engaged with a group of women that were victims of stalking. They were
discussing how there could be changes to third party people who assist the stalker and how those
individuals should be prosecuted as well. She was very stern in her ways to help begin to make a
change with no signs of stopping till they we heard. That is the major example of ethos from Pauley
Perrette.
Throughout the series on television, Pauley Perrette might now have been the smartest acting but her
logical thinking in organizations and situations is very smart. In her video with 48 hours again, she
states that there should be a reform of stalking

Friar Lawrence In Romeo And Juliet
Friar Lawrence is the reason for the death of Romeo and Juliet. The reason being very few people
know about the forbidden love of Romeo, and Juliet; the Friar being one of which to know. Friar
Lawrence is just trying to be helpful; in doing this he manages to mess up their lives even more.
This first situation starts with the pre marriage of the two young loves. Now you are aware of how
when someone points something out it makes it extremely obvious, right? In Act 2 the Friar
accidentally does this to Romeo by stating These violent delights have violent ends / And in their
triumph die, like fire and powder, / Which as they kiss consume: the sweetest honey / Is loathsome in
his own deliciousness / And in the taste confounds the appetite: / Therefore love moderately; long love

Are you familiar with the feeling something is wrong although you can t put your finger on what. The
Friar experiences this in Act 5, when he states Unhappy fortune! by my brotherhood, / The letter was

hence; / Get me an iron crow, and bring it straight / Unto my cell. (Act 5 Scene 2 Page 1 Stanza 18)
when this is said you can tell he knows that something in his plan is flawed.
One of the last scenes... In the tomb where the two deceased lovers now lie, the Friar states to Lord
Capulet, And with wild looks bid me devise some mean / To rid her from this second marriage, / Or in
my cell there would she kill herself. / Then gave I her, so tutored by my art, / A sleeping potion, which
so took effect / As I intended, for it wrought on her / The form of death. (Act 5 Scene 3 Page 11) In
other words I gave her a sleeping potion, Romeo took it the wrong way and now they both lie
deceased . The evidence is there to prove Friar Lawrence is responsible for the confusion and death of

The Process Of Meiosis And Mitosis
In order to better understand the process of meiosis and mitosis, students observed different types of
asci. The arrangement of spores was associated to whether crossing over occurred during meiosis 1.
We tried observing asci, from the mating plate that we did last lab, with a light microscope. However,
the class was unsuccessful and were told to look for images of asci on google images and use these
observations as our data. The observations obtained from google images, showed that 27 observations
were made for asci of type 4:4, 19 for asci type 2:2:2:2 and 14 for asci of type 2:4:2 (Table IB 1). With
these observations, we determined the map distance which was 27.5 map units (Figure 5.4). Since asci
of type 4:4 were observed more, crossing over occurred less, thus producing less asci with different
arrangements. Sordaria also undergo mitosis because the end result of meiosis are four haploid cells
and haploid cells cannot divide by meiosis. Lastly, since more asci with type 4:4 were observed, the
hypothesis was supported more black ascus were also observed which supported the second
hypothesis. Although students were not successful in observing asci during the lab, students were still
able to understand the importance of meiosis and relate it to real life issues. INTRODUCTION

The Chernobyl Fallout
Chernobyl s Fallout When I was informed we were doing a multi genre project I chose Chernobyl
because it was interesting what the radiation could do when it wasn t being contained correctly. What
sparked my interest for this topic was when I was watching the show River Monsters, where Jeremy
Wade went to Chernobyl to fish near the incident when he caught a fish that was common there, he
commented Wow! This fish is huge. This fish looks to have mutated from the incident that happened a
few years ago. (Wade) This also caught my interest the most because there is also a game called
Fallout, this game took place in the aftermath of a world nuclear bombing, and the fallout was still in
effect worldwide. Since I could go on forever about this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people then started to panic and evacuate once they started to get affected by the radiation. During
the incident over 350,000 people evacuated Chernobyl and the surrounding area, to get away from the
radiation exposure, they have survived but there still was a fallout of the radiation might have killed
more people, but the other survivors most likely died from the thyroid cancers that they developed.
The fallout of the Chernobyl meltdown was also very destructive, the radius of the fallout (the worst
parts of it) was at max 100Km all around Chernobyl causing the surrounding areas to also get a dose
of the Chernobyl incidents radiation. According to Seibersdorf The released radionuclides were lifted
to an altitude of more than 500 m where they could be transported for long distances. This lead to a
global dispersion of the released radionuclides not anticipated to that amount up to now. The major
three plumes carrying radionuclides from the power plant in the first 6 days are shown in Fig. 1. The
first plume transported the nuclides in northern direction to Finland and Sweden where the
environmental monitoring systems of the Swedish reactors gave the first hint in a western country that
some major release in the USSR must have occurred (Muck). The fallout was the worst part because it
remained to fall and affect areas (that were not contaminated) dangerous for people to stay

The Main Environmental And Emotional Causes And Crisis...
This paper will discuss the main environmental and emotional causes and crisis intervention of teen
suicide based on experimental facts and assessment studies. In today s society, suicide rates continue
to rise amongst teens. In some suicide cases, family and friends are caught completely off guard as
signs can be misinterpreted. Why does suicide come as a surprise to family and friends and what can
be done to decrease the record high will be one of the points within this paper. Early recognition at the
moment of the smallest sign of aberrant behavior is one of the easiest ways to assist a person who has
suicidal thoughts. In addition, this paper will investigate the effect that crisis intervention has on teen
suicide and how to approach someone who may be experiencing suicidal tendencies.
There are numerous causes for suicide among teens based on emotional tendencies and environmental
influence. Teenagers are still vulnerable and impressionable to how the mass media portrays different
methods of suicide and reports collected reveal that suicide attempts have increased dramatically
(Gould, 2003). This infiltrates the amount of suicide and suicide attempts using the same methods
displayed on television. The content in films and news media draws in attention from younger
viewers, which can encourage their suicidal ideas or dissuade them from imitating the scheme. When
teenagers are exposed to suicidal acts it can ease their anxiety of following through with it. This is a

Book Thief Macbeth Comparison
Macbeth amp; The Book Thief:
A Comparison between Ambition present in the Novels
In comparing Shakespeare s Macbeth and Zusak s Book Thief, though the books deal with different
time eras, characters and even language styles, there are some striking similarities between the themes
in both novels. The themes are evident throughout both novels, these themes give a better
understanding of the author s message he wants to portray to his audience. Both books show ambition
effectively in many situations. In Macbeth we see how far one man will go to see a goal accomplished
and achieve his ultimatum. In the Book Thief we witness a girl with the ambition to learn how to read,

The Nineteen Five Theses On The Power And Efficacy Of...
When Martin Luther wrote the Ninety Five Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences in 1517,
he was making a bold and unprecedented move: challenging the Catholic Church. As a German
Catholic priest himself, Luther was not afraid to condemn the Catholic Church, even publicly, which
is how he displayed the original copy of the theses. Luther s issue with the church wasn t personal but
was instead based on what he saw as violation of the religious morals and teachings of God. For
example, he highly disapproved the church s several claims of salvation and forgiveness on earth. The
ninety five theses acted as Luther s tool of protest against the church and also acted as enlightenment
to the masses. Publication of the theses is also often noted as the spark that initiated the Protestant
Reformation after centuries of religious tension buildup. Luther s overall disapproval was against the
corruption and dishonesty of the church (Bishop, p.1). In the theses, Luther outlined what and how he
believed the Catholic Church was doing wrong and how it should be corrected. He argues against the
church s abuse of power and the way it took advantage of its members. What the ninety five theses did
was outline two major points: the selling and buying of indulgences as well as the issue of purgatory
regarding to God, the Catholic Church and the Pope.

Toni Lumbada sThe Lesson, By Toni Bambara
In Toni Bambara s piece The Lesson , we are given a sort of personal memoir of an experience she had
with a childhood teacher in F.A.O Schwarz. Miss Moore, a college degree holding neighbor that
educated children she lived near took a group of students to one of the biggest toy stores in New York.
On the way to this toy store, Miss Moore was speaking a lot about money and what it truly is, how it
adds up, etc. Upon entrance, Bambara writes about feeling unsettled about trying to go in the door.
She writes further about her experiences and starts to sort of suggest her uneasiness and even anger
about the cost of the toys she saw. She continues to list all of the different things that a $35 dancing
clown could do for her family and starts to hint towards the idea of inequality between classes.
Bambara mentions how Miss Moore talks about who you are is where you are and waits for somebody
to say that poor people have to wake up and demand their share of the pie (78). Looking back now,
Bambara probably sees exactly that Miss Moore was saying it isn t fair that people can spend all their
money on flashy toys when people are struggling for food although at the time she admits they had no
idea what she was talking about. At the end of their little tour of F.A.O Schwarz, Bambara s friend
mentions how she didn t think the cost of a toy boy could be the equivalent of what their group ate in a
year, and Miss Moore keeps pushing them to continue their thought process. Bambara quotes Miss
Moore to say Imagine for minute what kind of society it is in which some people can spend on a toy
what it would cost to feed a family of six or seven (79). As Sugar continues answering Miss Moore s
question on how it isn t much of a democracy, Bambara grows increasingly upset at the willing
participation of her friend. I believe this could suggest that given Miss Moore s education and possible
difference between herself and the other children, Bambara and her friends resented the life Miss
Moore seemed to have. The story may seem to some people to be a coming up story but it isn t that at
all. Although at the end of the piece, Bambara writes But ain t nobody gonna beat me at nuthin (79)
which can possibly allude the idea that

Critical Analysis of a Sequence from FANTASIA
All of the animation that was used in Fantasia was hand drawn. The scene that we are analysing is the
first one right at the very beginning. This was when the elephants and hippos are floating on bubbles
and then one of the hippos lands on the floor on a bed, then the crocodiles come along.
The way that each and every one of the slides was so smooth was because they used a technique
which was very similar to ghosting that we now use on the computers except they traced each slide
onto a piece of tracing paper as well as normal paper, they would then place each one on top of the

This would suggest to the viewer that the crocodiles are bad and evil. The hippos are more of a soft
brown colour which suggests that they are good and calm. Also the fact that the hippo was wearing a
pink tutu which suggests that she is sweet and innocent.
The shape of the crocodiles is much more tense and square than the hippo. When all of the crocodiles
surround the hippo they stand in a square, with their shoulders up. The crocodiles are much more
sharp and quick. They are also of a flat shape and everything is in 2D. The hippos are more of a round
and smooth shapes, also the bubbles that they float on are round with soft edges. A circle shape is used
for hippos to show that they are good and gentler.
There are many example of when shadows are used in this animation. The first time we really notice a
shadow is when the crocodiles are creeping along the wall. The shadows of the crocodiles are much
bigger than the crocodiles them selves. This would make them seem more frightening and evil. Also it
would make them seem more intimidating as they were up high looking down with a huge shadow
casting behind them. The spotlight that is on the hippo is circular to show the gentleness and the
goodness, but then this disappears when the crocodiles form a square around her. But when

Fog Computing Of Smart City Essay
FOG COMPUTING IN SMART CITY
Arti Agrahari
Abstract: This paper represents a novel idea on how Fog computing can be used to manage the
immense data generated in smart city. Fog computing can also be called as edge computing, is a
distributed computing infrastructure in nature, for smart devices like mobile phones the application
services should be maintained near the end user side but the services are handled at remote data server
i.e. in cloud. Our aim is to reduce the amount of storage required, the time required in data processing
and data analysis and the propagation time in cloud computing. Thus by handling data at network edge
latency can be reduced and efficiency can be improved. In smart city where the predicted data
generation seems to be high enough can be stored at network edge giving better performance in city
by reducing latency.

Lithium Research Paper
Lithium is the third element on the periodic table and is known as the lightest metal, and is half as
dense as water. It is a part of the Alkali metals, meaning it is in the first group on the periodic table.
Lithium is normally not found in nature, due to the fact that it has a very unstable nucleus. The name
Lithium is derived from the Greek word lithos, which means stone . This name was likely given to
Lithium due to the fact that it was discovered in the mineral petalite (LiAl(Si2O5)2) by Johann August
Arfvedson in 1817. It was later isolated through the form of electrolysis of lithium oxide by William
Thomas Brande. Lithium is made of two stable isotopes, with Lithium 6 containing 3 neutrons and

combined with elements such as copper, aluminium, cadmium, and manganese in order to help create
light parts for aircraft. It is also added to glass in order to make it lighter and stronger as well. Lithium
is also used in the treatment of bipolar disorder, and because of this, has become the inspiration for
two songs, both named Lithium, by the bands Nirvana and Evanescence. When mixed with hydroxide,
Lithium hydroxide is used to absorb the carbon dioxide found in space vehicles. Because it produces a
bright red flame when burned, Lithium is also added to fireworks in order to produce a red spark.

[The Credit Agreement]
[The Loan]
1. Amount and Terms of the Loans; Letters of Credit
2. Understanding Loan Tranches and Mechanics (Credit Agreement)
3. Tranches of Loans
A borrower will generally have various financing needs for its business, some of which may be more
appropriately met with a revolving credit facility and others more appropriately met with a term loan
facility. Revolving credit facilities permit the borrower to borrow, repay and reborrow loans from time
to time during the life of the credit facility, up to an agreed cap amount, so long as the conditions to
each borrowing are met. Term loan facilities are generally drawn all at once and may not be
reborrowed once repaid. For a borrower s ongoing business operations, a revolving facility that allows
it to borrow and repay as needed may make more sense than receiving a one time term loan, while a
borrower may want a term loan to fund an acquisition where they will need to have the full purchase
price available on the acquisition date.
In many financing transactions the borrower will want access to both a revolving facility and a term
loan. For example, to finance an acquisition, the borrower will likely want a term loan to finance all,
or a portion of, the purchase price for the target company and after the acquisition, the borrower will
likely need a revolving facility for working capital. To meet these needs, credit agreements and
facilities are often divided into multiple tranches each

The Quatrain Factory By Rita Dove
The Great Migration was a tough time in American history, when millions of African Americans
migrated north in search of job opportunities. The Zeppelin Factory, is an epic poem written by Rita
Dove about her hard working grandfather named Thomas during this period in history. The major
themes portrayed throughout this poem are the hardships faced by her grandfather during these
difficult times and struggling to cope with death. These themes are portrayed through Dove s
application of poetic form and structure, diction, and figurative language. The poetic form and
structure of Dove s poem is important in portraying Dove s theme of coping with death. The poem is
made up of three octets, a couplet, and a quatrain. Having the couplet right after three octets abruptly
disrupts the flow of the poem, similarly to how an individual s life can feel as though it has stopped
after a death has occurred. However, the quatrain shows that even after that abrupt disruption, life will
still go on. In addition, the lineation helps emphasize the concept of death to the reader. For example,
when describing the launch of The Akron, Dove ends several of her lines with words that are
associated with life and death situations such as, adrenalin, fell, clawing, and dropped. Together, ...

This is seen in the second stanza when The Akron was launched, largest airship was dubbed / the
biggest joke / in town... (10 12). By describing the zeppelin as a joke shows that town likely viewed
the factory workers in the same manner, as if they were not contributing to society in a positive way.
In addition, the diction used throughout this poem creates an overall somber tone that drives the poem
and forces the reader to feel empathetic towards Thomas as he copes with the death of a friend.
Overall the diction is imperative in understanding the emotions of that time in

Connotatively, Angela s honor had to be protected before her marriage communicating that her honor was actually her virginity rather to Beyardo, his honor involves that virginity of the women in his family. Violence due to the loss of Angela s virginity is evident when Beyardo returns her and her mother beats her up for disgracing her family . Imagery incorporated describes how infuriated her mother really was because of the consequences to come involving the critics in town. Moreover, the loss of Angela s virginity is what ultimately leads her twin brother to seek revenge in order to restore her honor. The narrator clarifies this by revealing that the twins were comforted by the honor of having done their duty . While such networks have made people, communities and groups with shared interests stay more connected, Internet addiction and social network addiction in particular also started being recognized as psychological disorders all over the world. While several 90′s studies focused on Internet addiction, the next decade saw the growth of a new addiction related to all manner of social networking sites, especially the current king of the jungle: Facebook. While her proposed diagnosis criteria have virally spread (to use a familiar term related to social networking) all over the world, it seems that the scientific community is not yet ready to reach a consensus as to what this type of addiction entails. Social networks have changed the ways we interact with each other enormously. One thing that has changed dramatically is the concept of meeting people. This was brought to my attention a couple of weeks ago, when I met a musician for the first time, whom I had casually crossed online a couple of times. Oddly enough, none of us acted as if this were a first meeting. Another thing that called my attention was when another musician said from the stage thank you for coming; because a lot of people say they are attending on Facebook but they never show up. This also made me think about how much time we are devoting to talking about Facebook, even when we are offline, and how many times we log on to Facebook to show our friends something, even during actual person to person meetings or social gatherings. Every drug has a gratification component, and, if social networks are causing an addiction, they must have one too. A very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Should Police Wear Body Cameras Over the past year there have been many situations between police officers and civilians that we don t exactly know what happened because it someone s word over another. In August 2014, an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown, was shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Some witnesses confirmed the police officer s claim that he shot the teenager under self defense. While others claimed that the victim posed no threat to the officer and that the shooting was uncalled for. The result of this was that the police officer wasn t charged with a crime. If that officer had been wearing a body camera, while he was on duty, we could see with our own eyes if Michael Brown was threatening to the officer or if the shooting was unjustified. Police officers should wear body cameras while on duty because the cameras would hold police accountable to their actions, prevent violence, and would improve the public s perspective on police officers. While Bartolome De Las Casas changed the Latin Community forever, these sisters changed the way Anti Slavery was protested. The Grimke sisters were not just famous for their avocation against slavery, they were also among the first abolitionists to acknowledge the importance of women s rights. • 9. Ethical Issues Of Technology, Internet, And Computer... As technology advances, human beings are inevitably affected. The concern and debate today is whether this effect is beneficial or harmful. Computer technology, Internet, and video games are examples of advancements and each of these involve ethical and practical concerns as to how they affect human beings. Since emerging technology indirectly alters lives, such alterations trigger most debates today. First, computer technology raises ethical concerns because it has a constantly changing nature and so there are no specific sets of moral codes (Berzai 1). Dealing with ethical dilemmas related to computer technology is difficult because there is no overarching positive ethical force in the American business community. There are four main areas of computer ethics: computer crime, responsibility for computer failure, protection of computer property and privacy of companies and customers. (Berzai 2). The area of computer ethics, which is under most debate today, is computer crime and privacy. For example, unauthorized computer entry jeopardizes a company s trade secrets and data. An employee who wants to sell such secrets to a competitor can commit such a crime and this crime involves jeopardizing company s privacy. An individual s privacy can be jeopardized in the crime of hacking. Hacking deals with the ethical dilemma of who actually owns the information and who should have access to it. This compares disfavorably to the first nine of months of 1988, when but two such accidents took place, and in fact, it is the highest number of death causing accidents for the American commercial aviation industry during the 1980s (Fotos p.31). On the whole, it is, in fact, comparatively safe to fly, and even with 1989 crash incidents added to the aggregated figures, flying is no more dangerous today than it was prior to deregulation. The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and an array of independent air safety experts have all probed this year s major airline accidents. Despite all of post hoc study, they have been unable to discern a common link among them, (Ott p.28) with one major exception. The qualification at hand refers to dramatic increase in the volume of air traffic since de regulation. According to NTSB member John Lauber, if there is a trend in accidents, it is a trend set by the increasing volume of air transport operations rather than any fundamental deterioration in the margins of safety (Ott p.28). At first glance, this argument is comforting: more flights in the air simply result in more accidents commensurate with higher traffic volumes, so that the impact of de regulation has had only the broadest and most indirect influences upon the industry s safety record. But to ascribe the recent rash of safety problems to the neutral effect of higher traffic volume in the wake of de regulation and leave it at that overlooks several critical points. For example, to remain competitive, many airlines schedule flights in clusters for the convenience of their passengers. This, in turn, as Rudolf ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The arrangement of spores was associated to whether crossing over occurred during meiosis 1. We tried observing asci, from the mating plate that we did last lab, with a light microscope. However, the class was unsuccessful and were told to look for images of asci on google images and use these observations as our data. The observations obtained from google images, showed that 27 observations were made for asci of type 4:4, 19 for asci type 2:2:2:2 and 14 for asci of type 2:4:2 (Table IB 1). With these observations, we determined the map distance which was 27.5 map units (Figure 5.4). Since asci of type 4:4 were observed more, crossing over occurred less, thus producing less asci with different arrangements. Sordaria also undergo mitosis because the end result of meiosis are four haploid cells and haploid cells cannot divide by meiosis. Lastly, since more asci with type 4:4 were observed, the hypothesis was supported more black ascus were also observed which supported the second hypothesis. In addition, this paper will investigate the effect that crisis intervention has on teen suicide and how to approach someone who may be experiencing suicidal tendencies. There are numerous causes for suicide among teens based on emotional tendencies and environmental influence. Teenagers are still vulnerable and impressionable to how the mass media portrays different methods of suicide and reports collected reveal that suicide attempts have increased dramatically (Gould, 2003). When Martin Luther wrote the Ninety Five Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences in 1517, he was making a bold and unprecedented move: challenging the Catholic Church. As a German Catholic priest himself, Luther was not afraid to condemn the Catholic Church, even publicly, which is how he displayed the original copy of the theses. Luther s issue with the church wasn t personal but was instead based on what he saw as violation of the religious morals and teachings of God. For example, he highly disapproved the church s several claims of salvation and forgiveness on earth. The ninety five theses acted as Luther s tool of protest against the church and also acted as enlightenment to the masses. Publication of the theses is also often noted as the spark that initiated the Protestant Reformation after centuries of religious tension buildup. Luther s overall disapproval was against the corruption and dishonesty of the church (Bishop, p.1). In the theses, Luther outlined what and how he believed the Catholic Church was doing wrong and how it should be corrected. He argues against the church s abuse of power and the way it took advantage of its members. • 33. Toni Lumbada sThe Lesson, By Toni Bambara In Toni Bambara s piece The Lesson , we are given a sort of personal memoir of an experience she had with a childhood teacher in F.A.O Schwarz. Miss Moore, a college degree holding neighbor that educated children she lived near took a group of students to one of the biggest toy stores in New York. On the way to this toy store, Miss Moore was speaking a lot about money and what it truly is, how it adds up, etc. Upon entrance, Bambara writes about feeling unsettled about trying to go in the door. She writes further about her experiences and starts to sort of suggest her uneasiness and even anger about the cost of the toys she saw. She continues to list all of the different things that a $35 dancing clown could do for her family and starts to hint towards the idea of inequality between classes. Bambara mentions how Miss Moore talks about who you are is where you are and waits for somebody to say that poor people have to wake up and demand their share of the pie (78). Looking back now, Bambara probably sees exactly that Miss Moore was saying it isn t fair that people can spend all their money on flashy toys when people are struggling for food although at the time she admits they had no idea what she was talking about. At the end of their little tour of F.A.O Schwarz, Bambara s friend mentions how she didn t think the cost of a toy boy could be the equivalent of what their group ate in a year, and Miss Moore keeps pushing them to continue their thought process. Bambara quotes Miss Moore to say Imagine for minute what kind of society it is in which some people can spend on a toy what it would cost to feed a family of six or seven (79). As Sugar continues answering Miss Moore s question on how it isn t much of a democracy, Bambara grows increasingly upset at the willing participation of her friend. I believe this could suggest that given Miss Moore s education and possible difference between herself and the other children, Bambara and her friends resented the life Miss Moore seemed to have. The story may seem to some people to be a coming up story but it isn t that at all. Although at the end of the piece, Bambara writes But ain t nobody gonna beat me at nuthin (79) which can possibly allude the idea that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Revolving credit facilities permit the borrower to borrow, repay and reborrow loans from time to time during the life of the credit facility, up to an agreed cap amount, so long as the conditions to each borrowing are met. Term loan facilities are generally drawn all at once and may not be reborrowed once repaid. The Zeppelin Factory, is an epic poem written by Rita Dove about her hard working grandfather named Thomas during this period in history. The major themes portrayed throughout this poem are the hardships faced by her grandfather during these difficult times and struggling to cope with death. These themes are portrayed through Dove s application of poetic form and structure, diction, and figurative language. The poetic form and structure of Dove s poem is important in portraying Dove s theme of coping with death. The poem is made up of three octets, a couplet, and a quatrain. Having the couplet right after three octets abruptly disrupts the flow of the poem, similarly to how an individual s life can feel as though it has stopped after a death has occurred. However, the quatrain shows that even after that abrupt disruption, life will still go on. In addition, the lineation helps emphasize the concept of death to the reader.
