The document studies the role of honey bees in pollinating Asiatic cotton (Gossypium arboreum L.) flowers in India. Observations found that honey bees significantly increased boll retention rates by 7-12% through pollination and improved cotton quality. Marked flowers that were pollinated by bees produced higher quality cotton in bagged bolls than unpollinated flowers, demonstrating the importance of honey bee pollination for Asiatic cotton quantity and quality.
