Native american culture is packed with many different things. In this paper I will be writing about
what I researched and found about Native American art. Native American art is made up of many
different forms and techniques. It plays an important role in what makes up native American culture
and tradition, some of which is still around today,. In Native American s daily life was simply not
possible without the arts, there are many different types and forms, some common types include
painting, basket weaving, and wood carving, many of these things have progressed today and are
displayed in museums and created over again by new generations. What is Native American art?

To create Native American common and tradition art they used different tools, some including, rocks,
feathers, cloth, clay, and fabric. Native americans also used material from animals like fur and bones.
They would never hunt for sport and used every last part of what they hunted and didn t let any part of
their animals go unused. To get pigments and different colors they would use plants and different
kinds of berries to mix and get the desired colors they wanted. They were known for having many
bright colors to represent what they love. There are many, forms, and genres of Native American art, a
common one is painting. The earliest form of painting that we know of, dates back all the way to 4000
b.c. These paintings have been found in caves, rock shelters, and clay plasters and were usually
applied with a fibre brush. Many designs are in forms of both supernatural and natural ideas and
scenarios, it was a way to tell and visualize stories. Painting was also used to decorate things like
pottery and instruments. This form of art was probably the most popular. Another common form of art
was basket weaving, this form of art was very useful. They used these baskets for things like storing
and protecting foods and supplies. They were also used to get things from place to place. The baskets
were weaved with different grasses, wood and ash splints, bark, or bundled pine

If Disney Ran Your Hospital
Introduction
According to Fred Lee (2004) hospitals use clinical results and process improvement as a gauge of
quality as this data can be readily measured and objective. Conversely, patients judge the quality of
care by individual perception. Therein a gap of what the patient s perception of quality care and how
the healthcare providers perceive quality of care is created. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the
Gaps Model of Service Quality while comparing the findings of the work done by Fred Lee in the
book, If Disney Ran Your Hospital: 91/2 Things You would Do Differently.

Gap One will widen if healthcare organizations primarily focus on operational issues instead of
building relationships with consumers (O Connor, Trinh , Shewchuk, 2000). An example of closing
Gap One is seen in the airline industry. A study done by Gourdin and Kloppenborg (1991) revealed
that while the airline industry perceived that providing beverage service on short flights was important
to consumers; consumers do not value this service. The study revealed that consumers saw the hurried
beverage service as an annoyance rather than a valued service.
A study was done (Deng Juin et al., 2009) to exam patient satisfaction with cosmetic Lasik surgery.
Using the SERQUAL instrument, research revealed dissatisfaction among patients having a procedure
to the empathy of the staff. The patients repeatedly committed that even though this is a cosmetic
surgery, it is still a medical procedure. The patients expressed disappointments in communication and
empathy which was an expectation of these patients. A study conducted by Young, Minnick, and
Marcantonio (1996) compared the opinions of more than a thousand staff nurses, numerous nurse
managers, and more than two thousand patients from 17 hospitals regarding certain aspects and
perceptions of patient care needs. Interestingly, staff nurse and managers

Abstract I went out to find what students thought about a catholic education. I wanted to see how
students thought a catholic education compared to other educations. I went out and interview multiple
people who had some sort of catholic education background. Some were catholic students their whole
life and some had transferred between catholic schools and public schools. From the interview I had a
lot of information that I compared, and was able to make a conclusion.

My Strength As A Writer
Writing is the primary basis upon which one s work, intellectual and learning is judge. I have some
experiences in writing in form of assignments, expressing my emotions, poems and lyrics. I believe
that writing stays forever, it is permanent. One s written work stays whether it is in the form of
literature, stories or history.
Writing not only make thinking visible but also redefine the ideas and thoughts. It improves
communication skills, creative thinking and creativity. Writing is all about to play with words.
One of my strength as a writer is that I come up with a story on the fly. Whenever I write I have a
story in my mind. To me it doesn t matter if the story isn t well built I manage to put words down on

They both had that special mix of country and R B that excited the nation, and they had the sex appeal

America while Berry was arrested multiple times before and during his career. Elvis Presley and
Chuck Berry s influence on rock and roll in the 1940 s and 50 s was more dependent on their skin
color than on the level of their talents. Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry had many similarities and
differences during their careers. They were both fresh, young men who had something new and
special to offer the music industry. They blended country music with R B in a unique way that hadn t
been done before. However, the way they got their big breaks was significantly different. Chuck Berry
had created a quartet while he was in prison for auto theft. He had obstacles ahead of him as a black
man that Elvis would never have. In fact, Elvis had just walked into Sun Studios to privately record
his music, a very different opportunity that Berry would not have gotten. The studio s owner, Sam
Phillips said Elvis had exactly what he was looking for, a white singer with the negro sound and the

Learning is one of important processes in human being life. It is self evident that human development

Eighteenth Century Americans were mainly interested in reading books about practical arts, religious
and the politics as well. American does have a long tradition on reading habits since long back. Thus
they are proved to be improved in vocal, public expressions both towards and against throughout
reading skills. Novels are the entertaining seldom read by Americans in the 18th century. The nation s
first novel was published in the late 18th century. The first two novels to be published were Digges
Adventure of Alonso and Brown s The power of Sympathy . Women were also contributed to the
success of Novels, Such writers were Susuana Rowson for her novel Charlotte: A tale of truth . This
navel was re issued under the title of Charlotte Temple, which sold more than million and half copies.
The growth of novel reading grew rapidly towards the end of the year 1750.The main reason for the
growth of novel readers was the rapid growth of the source of book materials such as book seller,
public library and lending library. An average person was able to obtain their reading materials from
booksellers, public libraries as well through lending libraries which were a cheaper option since they
were able to rent the books for a small fee. Due to the vast number of readers between the year 1773
and 1798 the number of book trading companies as well as the number of public libraries grew rapidly
at faster rate than the increasing population. While

Social Hierarchy In The Middle Ages
Middling Problems
Kings are the ones who lead and conquer. Lords are the ones who rule and sit barking orders to the
lower classes. Knights are the ones who follow their code of honor, chivalry at its finest. Peasants are
the ones who work until their bodies give out just to provide for their family. These are words that
depicted the social hierarchy during the Middle Ages or rather, the Dark Ages. An age where not
everyone is given the chance to elevate to a new status, where the oppressed stays oppressed while the
aristocrats sits in their fine houses and live lavishly. But...only the men get to exercise their power, as
the women during this period lay dormant, sitting in their chairs as if they were just glorified display
pieces showcased by their husbands for all to see. It s even worse if they were peasants, as they were
only expected to give childbirth and care for the family while working out in the fields.
Meanwhile, in the current period, everyone is given a chance to increase their standing in life. Blood
inheritance holds little to no meaning anymore, only skill and talent will let you prosper in life. This
sounds like a good thing, but for me it feels like no change has happened at all. ... Show more content

The Black Death rattled the people s belief in God, and their faith in that they will be saved. Peasants
revolt at the unfair actions of the nobility. Uprisings occur because of foreign intervention. Basically,
the Medieval Period was a parade of, sorry for the word, fuck ups, one after another. The social
hierarchy is one of those. Peasants keep complaining and complaining about their situation, yet they
do not do anything about it. That s because of Manorialism. They depend too much on their lords for
food and lodging. But not voluntarily. They had no other choice, as they will starve to death in the

Evaluation is the most rewarding aspects of creating a campaign; you finally can reap the benefits of
the hard work up to this point. For the Don t Cry About Ick...Laugh It Up With Clorox campaign,
reaching or exceeding the set outcomes from the objectives measured and explained success. The
evaluation measures were based on collection of analytics from the social media sites. The team s
measurement looked at outcomes as opposed to outputs. The team evaluated impressions and
engagement with the generated content.
Ultimately, the campaign increased connection, conversation and interaction, in addition to shifting
brand perception. The results of these specific increases from PRSA s case summary are detailed

objectives. New Responsibles were now openly discussing and referencing Clorox and its products in
their on and off line conversations. Additionally, there was a change in purchase interest and brand
favorability. Consumers were willing and wanting to purchase Clorox products.
MY PERSPECTIVE
After considering the research, planning, implementation and evaluation of Clorox and Ketchum s
Don t Cry Over Ick...Laugh IT UP With Clorox campaign, I agree that it was effective and award
worthy. Throughout this critique, I discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the campaign,
occasionally inserting my own opinions as to what could have been done differently. I believe that the
strengths outweighed the weaknesses. Overall, the campaign s attention to detail, creative nature and
integration of online and offline strategies made this program a compelling award entry.
Together, Clorox and Ketchum were able identify the generation gap in Clorox s brand relevancy and
then close that gap by marketing with Millennials. The team s attention to detail and creativity was
crucial in the creation of the Ick tionary campaign. The PRSA summary of the campaign did not

Hamlet by William Shakespeare
Father Figures in 1 Henry IV In William Shakespeare s 1 Henry IV, Falstaff and King Henry IV share
father figure relationships with Henry Hal, Prince of Wales. The former, a drunk and cavalier knight,
acts as a surrogate father to the prince, while the latter, a determined and distanced monarch, is his
blood. Yet, who is the better father figure to Hal? Although Falstaff and Prince Henry share a strong,
quasi father son relationship, the former s manifestation of the tavern atmosphere, venality and
dishonor are obstacles to the Prince s goals; King Henry IV, on the other hand, is the better father
figure because he motivates his son to realize his ambitions, and embodies the setting of the court and
the monarchy in which the Prince ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No (Shakespeare 54, 101). He is a survivor who possess a political acumen similar to the Prince s and
the King s: he lies well, bides his time and plays possum to prevent his own death. The brotherly
relationship he shares with the Prince in the pub almost looks fatherly when compared to the King s
sometimes cold and removed treatment. Yet, Falstaff cannot be the real father figure to Hal due to his
being an hindrance to Hal s goals, whereas the King is a true parent, role model and impetus for the
Prince s morality. According to Ball, Character consists of all the qualities, traits, and features that
create the nature of a person and distinguish that person from another person (60). Clearly, the King s
qualities closely resemble those of a true father, distinguishing him from the inappropriate and wry
Falstaff. First, as King he personifies the court setting to which the Prince says he wishes to return.
Although Hal can operate in multiple contrasting settings, the court is the proper sphere for him to be
in since he will one day occupy it as King. Also, Henry IV gives his son a greatly needed wake up
call, and subsequently inspires him to conquer his impediments. He disparages Hal s childish
behavior, which demonstrates his capacity to be

A Healthy And Balanced Diet Of Hershey s Chocolate Syrup
I don t eat a very healthy and balanced diet, but I know that I should. For this assignment I took it as a
chance to try and find some things to replace my normal unhealthy foods. Some of the foods that I like
wouldn t be able to find a healthy form. Some of the foods that I do like to eat do have healthy forms
and I doubt I start purchasing them right now because they are much more expensive than in their
normal form. I m know other people like these same foods and need to live more healthy just like I do,
but now I can tell them there are other more healthy forms of the foods that we like. The first item that
I found was something that everyone has had at least once in their lives, Hershey s Chocolate Syrup.
Hershey s has now developed a low calorie, sugar free version of their famous syrup, but they didn t
even stop there. They took it even farther and fortified their syrup with vitamins and minerals as well.
Their normal chocolate syrup has high fructose corn syrup along with just plain corn syrup, but the
new sugar free syrup is made from water and cocoa instead. This product is targeting consumers that
are trying to reduce the amount of sugar in their diet, or parents trying to reduce the sugar that their
children are eating. Price wise the fortified chocolate syrup is more expensive that the regular and runs

They both also share some similarities in their religions. Persia and China have many of the same

Water Potential Essay
The western part of the country has exhibited the criteria that has warranted water relocation efforts.
For a time, the water diversion efforts worked to serve the communities around it appropriately.
However, as the withdrawal of water has exceeded the supply and as climate change has contributed
to decreasing water supply, there are serious threats to the future of available water in the western
United States. One proposed solution involves diverting water from the Great Lakes in Michigan to

Thus, there is a high demand for water. At present, Pennsylvania does not face the water shortages that
warrant water relocation, however, if surface and groundwater withdrawals increase it could push
Pennsylvania closer to considering installing more hydrological alterations and exacerbate the
problems that currently face the nation as a whole.
There is a clear demand for water in locations that do not naturally have an adequate supply. Water
diversion projects serve their purpose in providing water for individual consumers as well as for
irrigation and industry. However, as illustrated in this paper, there are severe consequences that arise
when disrupting the natural flow of water the ecosystem around it. To mitigate some of the
consequences national geographic has suggested restricting the construction of dams, providing
incentives for farming business to reduce the use of pesticides, establishing protected wetlands areas,
and regulating water withdrawal for human use (Freshwater Threats, 2016). It is important that the
solutions to reduce the negative effects of hydrological alterations are aimed at various areas. Efforts
should be aimed at reducing the demand for water by increasing efficiency in industry and irrigation
as well as increasing the efficiency of water delivery. Efforts should be aimed at the careful planning,
engineering, and construction of the hydrological alterations with special attention

Bibliiography Regarding Economy Topics
Aidoo, Richard
2009 Review of The Trouble with Aid: Why Less Could Mean More for Africa, and: The Trouble with
Africa: Why Foreign Aid Isn t Working. Africa Today 56(2): 97 101
Aidoo expands on Jon Glennie s scope of the discussion regarding aid implementation in Africa. He
takes into account other prevalent work and analyzes the debate as a whole. The issue, on which
people readily take sides, he contends is often too simplistically portrayed, often leading to poor
solutions, typically in the form of more aid. Aidoo s critique of Glennie, who embraces aid reduction
policies, calls Glennie s stance intellectually merited, but fails to move beyond an academic concept.
Coyne, Christopher
2013 Doing Bad by Doing Good: Stanford Economics and Finance
DBBDG shows the problems that those who intervene undergo when venturing into humanitarian
efforts. The bureaucratic incentive structure of aid organizations and unintended consequences that
stem from their actions often end up doing more harm than good. Coyne s analysis uses economic
principle to form his case for using caution when considering humanitarian intervention. Those who
intervene lack understanding of how the many variables associated with intervention will interact and
how the bureaucratic incentive structure lacks the feedback mechanisms necessary for truly learning
from mistakes. Coyne goes on to show how the different incentives of the bureaucracy will often clash
with each other and with the end goal of

The trailer opens to Ezio being held captive at the snowy castle of Masyaf by the Templar Knights.
Ezio is an experienced assassin who achieved the title of Master by reaching the peak of his training.
The trailer flashes back to his journey to Masyaf to demonstrate Ezio s resilience while displaying his
struggles, traveling through deserts and sailing through seas, to reach his destination. Ezio mentions in
his narration that his goal is to locate a hidden library, A center full of invaluable wisdom. Ezio is in
pursuit of the knowledge that his predecessor, Altair, left behind. This common Gothic element is
discussed by Professor Ewan Kirkland from the University of Brighton in his paper on Gothic
videogames: John Fletcher s discussion of female Gothic cinema opens with the claim: The search for
origins, especially when it takes the form of reconstructing a hidden or forbidden scene is one of the
most seductive of all narratives (112). This seductive narrative is parallel to Ezio s journey as he is
searching for a hidden library which contains knowledge and wisdom from his order s past. In this
fictional universe, The Assassins have been at war with the Templar Order for most of known human
history. The Templars contrast the ideals of freedom held by the Assassins. The Templars wish to
create a perfect world through the order and control of weaker individuals.

After three incredible years and two competitions as the sole FRC team in our area, we grew the
program by starting three teams in La Crosse, WI; Team 4021 at Luther High School, Team 4011 at
Aquinas High School, and Team 4054 at La Crosse Central High School. Together we formed the
beginning of the 7 Rivers Robotics Coalition. This philosophy of helping and working together as a
cohesive alliance of teams carries us forward and remains a major motivation in our team today.
One of the highlights of our season each year is the 7 RRC Week Zero Event; a mini competition run
by our coalition the last Sunday of the build season. Teams in the coalition take turns hosting this
useful and exciting clash. After our first week zero event, Team 4021, one of the teams we started in
2012, went on to win the Rookie All Star Award. Two years later, the Sir Lancer Bots started three
more teams; Team 5019 in West Salem, Team 5339 in Houston, and Team 5003 in Onalaska. During
the 2014 season West Salem and Houston both won the Rookie All Star award at their respective
competitions. In 2014, the Seven Rivers Robotics Coalition became a 501 (c)3 non profit organization.
Individual teams have become non profits before, but never before had a group of teams been
organized this way. We could now apply for larger sponsors and most importantly, spread and practice
our philosophy of teaching, mentoring, and helping one another across all borders.
Every year the coalition

Religion and the Northern Rebellion of 1568 Essay
Religion and the Northern Rebellion of 1568
At the time of the Northern Rebellion in 1568, the North of England was greatly aggrieved. When
Elizabeth had ascended to the throne she appointed loyal men to her throne, usually Protestants like
William Cecil at the expense of the Northern Earls. This subtraction of power of course angered the
Northern Earls, but was the Northern Rebellion just down to this? Religion played a huge part in the
daily lives of most people in the 16th century and with the majority of the North retaining Catholicism
whilst Elizabeth slowly introduced Protestantism, surely this would cause further conflict.
To an extent we can see evidence that the Northern rebellion was ... Show more content on

At this stage the rebellion seemed very religious as the rebels showed their loyalty to Catholicism.
The Northern rebels had tried to gain further religious support from the pope and also hoped for
Spanish support. They requested the pope excommunicated Elizabeth so anyone who was afraid to
join in the rebellion could do so with the knowledge that they would still go to heaven. However the
papal bull of excommunication came too late for the Northern Earls, only after the rebellion had been
quashed. Also there was the suggestion that Spanish support was on its way, however this statement
was found to be false. Phillip II didn t have any enthusiasm for putting Mary Stuart on the throne
largely due to her connections with France.
Although initially the Northern rebellion seemed to be down to religious disagreements, there is
evidence to suggest this is not the only reason the Northern Earls wanted Mary to take over Elizabeth
s position on the throne. During the Tudor period the Northern Earls powers had been significantly
reduced, this angered them immensely; two of the leading northern families, the Percy s and the
Neville s were slowly becoming powerless and even falling into poverty. With such successful
ancestors, the Earls of Northumberland and Westmorland were not willing to let their

Essay about Mass Media
Before fast spreading technology was introduced, politicians had limited ways of gathering supporters
for their political agenda. Today, technology is used to spread a lot of information to many different
people around the world. Online websites play a vital role in spreading political agendas throughout
the masses of the country. Through the technological changes, including Facebook, Twitter, and Rock
the Vote, political agendas are beginning to spread through demographics that were harder to target
before the Internet became easily accessible. These demographics include men and women eighteen
years of age and older. Over 500 million people are active on Facebook, a social networking site
where anyone can voice their opinions and ideas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, people always have access to the Internet on the go, and The beauty of Twitter is that it can be
portable, allowing you to tweet from your cell phone. So when critical news breaks, your elected
official can keep you apprised of the latest developments (Orr). Since statuses and updates come
directly from the politician or celebrity themselves, Twitter is a reliable source to people and it is not
lost in translation. Although more people are tweeting every day, older generations that cannot keep up
are lacking in publicizing themselves in a political format. The negative aspect on Twitter is that the
relative newness of social networks like Twitter, make social media strategy a nebulous affair for
campaigns who aren t blessed with an intuitive grasp of these fast paced platforms (James). Because
social media is such a new concept in today s society, many political campaign managers are still
figuring it out how to use it to their advantage in a positive way. If the candidates for office who are
not used to today s technology cannot get with the fast paced changing times of today, why would
citizens want them running their country? In an effort to attract younger audiences, celebrities such as
Madonna, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Janet Jackson have been

Literary Techniques Of Thomas Stoppard s Arcadia
Literary Techniques in Thomas Stoppard s Arcadia
Arcadia by Thomas Stoppard was written in 1993 depicting the correlation between order and
disorder, the present and the past. The concepts tackled in these areas were looked at closely in
comparison to the themes of love and death. Stoppard s work of art earned him a position among other
renowned contemporary playwrights after it was awarded as one of the outstanding plays that were
encompassed the subject of science widely. This was an award issued to it by the institution of Britain
in 2006. Arcadia represents the activities of the modern society in comparison to that which was in
existence before civilization came into place. The high evolutionary society comprises practices and
ideas that can be juxtaposed to strike a balance in the time. Therefore, it can be noted that Stoppard s
aim in this case was to juxtapose the ideas of the contemporary lifestyle and the activities of the past
in order to strike a balance for the highly evolutionary society.
The play Arcadia takes place during the years 1806, 1812, and the present day society. Sidley Park is
represented both in the ancient society and in the contemporary one as a country house in Derbyshire,
where the Coverly family resides. The play has various characters fashioned in the form of a family as
the center of all activity. People such as Bernard Nightingale and Septimus are the people responsible
for the dissemination of knowledge in the family. The plot comprises of

How An Unplugged Vacation Essay
Your family wins a one week destination vacation and everyone is thrilled! When you arrive, your
family learns there is no screen time (no wi fi, tv, movies, phones). Describe how your unplugged
vacation goes.
The first thing I would do is find all the hiking and camping maps I could find. I would try and find
the most scenic backpacking hike because it s nice to be out in nature. Since I like hiking so much,
that would take place on the first two days and nights. The third day we would hike back to the car
and go to where we were staying. The rest of the day we would hang out by a pool or lake. The next
day we would go to a water or amusement park. That would depend on where the vacation is and what
my family feels like doing. On the fourth day, we would go rock climbing. It would be real rock
climbing, like on rocks. My brother and I would enjoy that but my parents wouldn t be climbing so ...

It may be nice to know what other people are thinking about, but that it is like invading his/her space.
It is a law for people not to break into other people s houses. Thoughts are like people s mental
houses, so it would feel wrong to break into them. Also, seeing someone s thoughts would make me
see him/her in a different light. It could be a light that they try to keep to him/herself. It is also like
being able to see into the future, you know what somebody wants to do, so you try to help them
achieve the goal. In the process, you would likely mess up and crush their dreams. Not to mention, it
would be cheating. In school, I would be in the middle of a test and accidentally look at someone
while I m trying to figure out an answer. If I accepted the power, I could have read their mind and
found the answer. Although it is less serious, board games wouldn t be as fun. It would only be the
ones that have either strategy or guessing, but those are the most fun games. In my future life, I will

Gaucher Disease Essay
Gaucher disease (GD) is an autosomal recessive inborn error in the pathway of sphingolipid
catabolism. Biochemically, this disease is characterized by a deficiency of lysosomal ÎČ glucosidase
(glucocerebrosidase GCase, E.C.3.2.1.45) enzyme due to the mutation of GBA gene [1]. The natural
substrate of this lysosomal enzyme is glucocerebroside (also called glycosylceramide) mainly present
on the cytoplasmic face of cellular membranes and on the cell surface. Lysosomal ÎČ glucosidases play
a key role in recycling of this substrate by degradation of glucospingolipid from membranes of
apoptatic white blood cells and senescent red blood cells. Genetic mutations of GBA gene affect the
enzyme`s catalytic activity and stability and results in the storage ... Show more content on

Rarely the mutation of PSAP gene that encodes activator protein saposin C (enhances the activity of
GCase) may cause gaucher disease [3 4]. Gaucher disease can be classified into three types depending
on the presence or absence of neurological features Type I GD1 adult or visceral form is characterized
by the lack of central nervous system (CNS) involvement and accounts for almost 95% of GD; Type II
GD2 infantile progressive neuropathic form with a life expectancy of 2 years; Type III GD (GD3)
juvenile, subacute neuropathic form [5]. Pathologically, patients with the adult non neuropathic form
of the disease have deposition of glucocerebroside in lysosomes of reticuloendothelial cells,
particularly in the spleen, bone marrow and liver and frequently there is hepatosplenomegaly, anemia,
and thrombocytopenia. It has been suggested that these tissue abnormalities in some gaucher patients
may trigger macrophage activation and could result in enhanced inflammatory agents secretion and
had increased levels of pro inflammatory (i.e., TNF α, IL 6, IL 8, and IL 1b) and anti inflammatory
cytokines (i.e., CD14) in serum and/ or tissues

A Research Study On Catalytic Promiscuity And The...
Catalytic promiscuity provides a starting point for the evolution of new enzymes. When a secondary
promiscuous activity becomes physiologically relevant, selection will favor genetic changes that
improve upon this promiscuous activity. When the ability to do both activities limits growth, it is
called an Inefficient bi functional enzyme. The Copley lab at the University of Colorado at Boulder
has found several genetic changes that increase fitness in a ΔargC strain of Escherichia coli BW25113
when growth is limited by an inefficient bi functional enzyme (ProA*). The experiments described in
this thesis investigate the genetic changes that increase fitness in a ΔargC strain of Salmonella enterica

In most cases, gene duplications are expected to be either selectively neutral or detrimental due to the
fitness costs of their maintenance, limiting the ability of a cell to maintain duplicated copies long
enough for beneficial mutations to occur (13). However, solutions to this problem have been proposed
based on the observation that most new enzyme activities closely resemble the original activity of the
enzyme.
Active sites of specialized enzymes often bind molecules that have some resemblance to their natural
or physiological substrates, although usually with much lower affinity (16). If an enzyme can bind an
unintended substrate and catalyze a secondary reaction that is physiologically irrelevant, it is said to
have catalytic promiscuity . If this secondary activity becomes physiologically relevant by increasing
fitness, selection will favor genetic changes that take advantage of this new activity (11). The
promiscuous activity of essential enzymes or those that are constitutively expressed are usually the
first to be recruited in the face of an environmental change due to their active and selectable presence
in the cell (11). Alternatively, mutations that cause constitutive expression of non essential genes that
can be subsequently recruited to produce essential metabolites via their promiscuous activities have
been documented (29, 5). In either case,

The Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment
Everyday you learn more and more about yourself.. You might not know it, but you could really like
the sushi at the local place you always pass through after school but never get the curiosity of trying it.
As senior year comes half of us know where we want to do with the rest of their lives, but the other
half is still trying to find who they are. Taking personality tests can be important because they help us
learn more about ourselves whether or not they are accurate. While taking both the Big Five Project
and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment, I learned a little more about myself then I had
expected.
The Big Five Project, in my opinion, was an understandable test. In the beginning, I was really curious
as to why I had to compare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was too complicated to understand. My results came in as two personalities, ESFJ and ENFJ.
According to 16 Personalities, ESFJ is known as the The Consul. In high school, they re the football
players, cheerleaders, student council members or in other words the popular crowd. Extraversion was
E, which I had gotten on the Big Five test and basically stating again that I am talkative. I like to talk a
lot but when it comes down to doing my school work, I am in full concentration mode. Sensing was S,
basically being organized and realistic. Sensors in contrary to Intuitors are more about a day to day
planner. At the end of the day they want to finish what has to be finished but if course being realistic.
Feeling was F, the idea of making decisions based on emotion. It s all about intuition. Judgment was J,
going with something and actually doing it. In previous group projects there has always been that one
person that changes everything up without telling the group, I dislike this people. If we brainstormed
something that we should stick with the plan rather than the flow. My second personality was ENFJ.
According to 16 Personalities, The Protagonist. People with the ENFJ are born to be leaders, they re
the politicians, coaches and teachers, reaching out and inspiring others to achieve and to do good in
the world. Three out of the four traits that are in ENFJ were in my first personality type, the remaining
one was Intuition. People with this trait tend to prefer speed but in depth information. I am exactly like

The “Roaring 20’S” And The “Jazz Age” Produced Great...
The roaring 20 s and the Jazz Age produced great literature. The characters and plots were often held
together by images, ideas, sounds or words that help a reader understand an idea and help to explain
the central idea of a literary work. F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby is full of rich symbols. Like
many of the most interesting symbols, the green light changes and develops its meaning through the
novel. The green light that is displayed at the end of Daisy and Tom s East egg dock, is the symbol of
Gatsby s hopes and dreams. In Chapter 1, Nick observes Gatsby one night: Something in his leisurely
movements and the secure position of his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself,

Compared to the great distance that separated him from Daisy it had seemed very near to her, almost
touching her. It had seemed as close as a star to the moon. Now it was again a green light on a dock.
His count of enchanted objects had diminished by one (93). The symbol changes for Gatsby because
the present Daisy is different than the Daisy from the past that he fell in love with in Louisville. In
addition to this strong literary symbol, another great one is Dr. TJ Eckleburg and the Valley of Ashes.
The eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg are: blue and gigantic their retinas are one yard high. They look out
of no face, but, instead, from a pair of enormous yellow spectacles which pass over a nonexistent
nose. Evidently, some wild wag of an oculist set them there to fatten his practice in the borough of
Queens, and then sank down himself into eternal blindness, or forgot them and moved away. But his
eyes dimmed a little by many paintless days under sun and rain, brood on over the solemn dumping
ground (24). Some readers may pick up that the billboard represents God s eyes looking down on the
society judging America s morals.Instead, throughout the novel, Fitzgerald suggests that the mere
essence of Dr. TJ Eckleburg symbolizes deprivation of the American soul. The billboard is placed
there to encourage business; however, it lays untidy and abandoned. Also with the

Grow Spinach Indoors Lab Report
How to grow spinach indoors
Title: Growing Spinach Indoors in Containers
Meta description: Spinach grows easily indoors in containers, provided it has a reasonable amount of
light and is planted in good soil. Click here to find out the details.
Spinach is a cool weather crop which does well growing indoors in containers. However, most
varieties of spinach need the cool temperatures of spring and fall, or they bolt and develop a bitter
taste. When you grow spinach indoors, keep the containers in an area with mild temperatures, and you
will be harvesting tasty and nutritious leafy greens in as little as 40 days.
Selecting an Indoor Site for Growing Spinach
Spinach likes cool temperatures in the range of 50Âș 80ÂșF (10Âș to 27ÂșC), and this is true even if you are

Choose an indoor growing site for spinach with at least six hours of sun, or, put the plants under a
grow lamp for six or more hours a day.
Selecting a Container for Growing Spinach Indoors
Full grown spinach plants are not very large, and you can grow one or two plants successfully in 1
gallon (3.8 liter) pots, or you can use a larger container and grow more plants together.
If you are growing your spinach to full size, give each plant a minimum of 6 square inches (15 square
cm) of space in the container. If you prefer baby spinach, you can plant the seeds or [link u=spinach

Fill the container with a good quality potting mix or garden soil mixed with compost or decomposed
manure, because spinach requires a nutrient rich soil. Be sure your container has drainage holes in the
bottom, and place the container on a water catchment tray.
Caring for Spinach Indoors

Keeping A Diary Doubles Diet Weight Loss
Method Activity
1. Correlational vs. Causation The topic Keeping a Diary Doubles Diet Weight Loss seems to offer a
solution in relation to weight loss and keeping a diary. Therefore, without reading the article, the topic
offers an impression of a causal claim. Causal claims are supported by having independent and
dependent variable. The independent variable is the factor that can be manipulated to result to change
on another factor (Christensen, Johnson Turner, 2014). In other words, the independent variable
represents the cause while the dependent variable represents the effect in an experiment (Rea Parker,
2014). Therefore, the factor that is being manipulated to cause changes in the claim Keeping a Diary
Diet Weight Loss is the food diary; thus, the independent variable is food diary. The factor affected by
the independent variable, which represent the output is weight loss; thus, the dependent variable is
weight loss.
1.1 Justifying the Claim Based on the Research The research offers some grounds for supporting the
claim, but notable factors affect a direct link between keeping a food diary and double loss of weight.
Therefore, though the research supports the claim, the confounding factors, notable in the research,
such as compliance to support group meeting, adherence to DASH, and compliance to moderate
intensity level of exercises for at least 30 minutes can also have an influence on weight loss. It is
difficult to significantly isolate food records

Native americans also used material from animals like fur and bones. They would never hunt for sport and used every last part of what they hunted and didn t let any part of their animals go unused. To get pigments and different colors they would use plants and different kinds of berries to mix and get the desired colors they wanted. They were known for having many bright colors to represent what they love. There are many, forms, and genres of Native American art, a common one is painting. The earliest form of painting that we know of, dates back all the way to 4000 b.c. • 3. If Disney Ran Your Hospital Introduction According to Fred Lee (2004) hospitals use clinical results and process improvement as a gauge of quality as this data can be readily measured and objective. Conversely, patients judge the quality of care by individual perception. Therein a gap of what the patient s perception of quality care and how the healthcare providers perceive quality of care is created. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the Gaps Model of Service Quality while comparing the findings of the work done by Fred Lee in the book, If Disney Ran Your Hospital: 91/2 Things You would Do Differently. Gap One will widen if healthcare organizations primarily focus on operational issues instead of building relationships with consumers (O Connor, Trinh , Shewchuk, 2000). An example of closing Gap One is seen in the airline industry. A study done by Gourdin and Kloppenborg (1991) revealed that while the airline industry perceived that providing beverage service on short flights was important to consumers; consumers do not value this service. The study revealed that consumers saw the hurried beverage service as an annoyance rather than a valued service. A study was done (Deng Juin et al., 2009) to exam patient satisfaction with cosmetic Lasik surgery. Using the SERQUAL instrument, research revealed dissatisfaction among patients having a procedure to the empathy of the staff. The patients repeatedly committed that even though this is a cosmetic surgery, it is still a medical procedure. The patients expressed disappointments in communication and empathy which was an expectation of these patients. A study conducted by Young, Minnick, and Marcantonio (1996) compared the opinions of more than a thousand staff nurses, numerous nurse managers, and more than two thousand patients from 17 hospitals regarding certain aspects and perceptions of patient care needs. Knights are the ones who follow their code of honor, chivalry at its finest. Peasants are the ones who work until their bodies give out just to provide for their family. These are words that depicted the social hierarchy during the Middle Ages or rather, the Dark Ages. An age where not everyone is given the chance to elevate to a new status, where the oppressed stays oppressed while the aristocrats sits in their fine houses and live lavishly. But...only the men get to exercise their power, as the women during this period lay dormant, sitting in their chairs as if they were just glorified display pieces showcased by their husbands for all to see. It s even worse if they were peasants, as they were only expected to give childbirth and care for the family while working out in the fields. Meanwhile, in the current period, everyone is given a chance to increase their standing in life. Blood inheritance holds little to no meaning anymore, only skill and talent will let you prosper in life. This sounds like a good thing, but for me it feels like no change has happened at all. ... Throughout this critique, I discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the campaign, occasionally inserting my own opinions as to what could have been done differently. I believe that the strengths outweighed the weaknesses. Overall, the campaign s attention to detail, creative nature and integration of online and offline strategies made this program a compelling award entry. The former, a drunk and cavalier knight, acts as a surrogate father to the prince, while the latter, a determined and distanced monarch, is his blood. Yet, who is the better father figure to Hal? Although Falstaff and Prince Henry share a strong, quasi father son relationship, the former s manifestation of the tavern atmosphere, venality and dishonor are obstacles to the Prince s goals; King Henry IV, on the other hand, is the better father figure because he motivates his son to realize his ambitions, and embodies the setting of the court and the monarchy in which the Prince ... He is a survivor who possess a political acumen similar to the Prince s and the King s: he lies well, bides his time and plays possum to prevent his own death. Yet, Falstaff cannot be the real father figure to Hal due to his being an hindrance to Hal s goals, whereas the King is a true parent, role model and impetus for the Prince s morality. According to Ball, Character consists of all the qualities, traits, and features that create the nature of a person and distinguish that person from another person (60). Clearly, the King s qualities closely resemble those of a true father, distinguishing him from the inappropriate and wry Falstaff. First, as King he personifies the court setting to which the Prince says he wishes to return. Although Hal can operate in multiple contrasting settings, the court is the proper sphere for him to be in since he will one day occupy it as King. Also, Henry IV gives his son a greatly needed wake up call, and subsequently inspires him to conquer his impediments. He disparages Hal s childish behavior, which demonstrates his capacity to be ... For this assignment I took it as a chance to try and find some things to replace my normal unhealthy foods. Some of the foods that I like wouldn t be able to find a healthy form. Some of the foods that I do like to eat do have healthy forms and I doubt I start purchasing them right now because they are much more expensive than in their normal form. I m know other people like these same foods and need to live more healthy just like I do, but now I can tell them there are other more healthy forms of the foods that we like. The first item that I found was something that everyone has had at least once in their lives, Hershey s Chocolate Syrup. Hershey s has now developed a low calorie, sugar free version of their famous syrup, but they didn t even stop there. They took it even farther and fortified their syrup with vitamins and minerals as well. Their normal chocolate syrup has high fructose corn syrup along with just plain corn syrup, but the new sugar free syrup is made from water and cocoa instead. This product is targeting consumers that are trying to reduce the amount of sugar in their diet, or parents trying to reduce the sugar that their children are eating. • 15. Water Potential Essay The western part of the country has exhibited the criteria that has warranted water relocation efforts. For a time, the water diversion efforts worked to serve the communities around it appropriately. However, as the withdrawal of water has exceeded the supply and as climate change has contributed to decreasing water supply, there are serious threats to the future of available water in the western United States. One proposed solution involves diverting water from the Great Lakes in Michigan to the southwest. The location of the Great Lakes, positioned between the United States and Canada, leads to international considerations and a controversial problems regarding international law. At present, Pennsylvania does not face the water shortages that warrant water relocation, however, if surface and groundwater withdrawals increase it could push Pennsylvania closer to considering installing more hydrological alterations and exacerbate the problems that currently face the nation as a whole. There is a clear demand for water in locations that do not naturally have an adequate supply. Water diversion projects serve their purpose in providing water for individual consumers as well as for irrigation and industry. However, as illustrated in this paper, there are severe consequences that arise when disrupting the natural flow of water the ecosystem around it. To mitigate some of the consequences national geographic has suggested restricting the construction of dams, providing incentives for farming business to reduce the use of pesticides, establishing protected wetlands areas, and regulating water withdrawal for human use (Freshwater Threats, 2016). It is important that the solutions to reduce the negative effects of hydrological alterations are aimed at various areas. Efforts should be aimed at reducing the demand for water by increasing efficiency in industry and irrigation as well as increasing the efficiency of water delivery. Africa Today 56(2): 97 101 Aidoo expands on Jon Glennie s scope of the discussion regarding aid implementation in Africa. He takes into account other prevalent work and analyzes the debate as a whole. The issue, on which people readily take sides, he contends is often too simplistically portrayed, often leading to poor solutions, typically in the form of more aid. Aidoo s critique of Glennie, who embraces aid reduction policies, calls Glennie s stance intellectually merited, but fails to move beyond an academic concept. Coyne, Christopher 2013 Doing Bad by Doing Good: Stanford Economics and Finance DBBDG shows the problems that those who intervene undergo when venturing into humanitarian efforts. The bureaucratic incentive structure of aid organizations and unintended consequences that stem from their actions often end up doing more harm than good. Coyne s analysis uses economic principle to form his case for using caution when considering humanitarian intervention. Those who intervene lack understanding of how the many variables associated with intervention will interact and how the bureaucratic incentive structure lacks the feedback mechanisms necessary for truly learning from mistakes. Coyne goes on to show how the different incentives of the bureaucracy will often clash with each other and with the end goal of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Stoppard s work of art earned him a position among other renowned contemporary playwrights after it was awarded as one of the outstanding plays that were encompassed the subject of science widely. This was an award issued to it by the institution of Britain in 2006. Arcadia represents the activities of the modern society in comparison to that which was in existence before civilization came into place. The high evolutionary society comprises practices and ideas that can be juxtaposed to strike a balance in the time. Therefore, it can be noted that Stoppard s aim in this case was to juxtapose the ideas of the contemporary lifestyle and the activities of the past in order to strike a balance for the highly evolutionary society. Biochemically, this disease is characterized by a deficiency of lysosomal ÎČ glucosidase (glucocerebrosidase GCase, E.C.3.2.1.45) enzyme due to the mutation of GBA gene [1]. The natural substrate of this lysosomal enzyme is glucocerebroside (also called glycosylceramide) mainly present on the cytoplasmic face of cellular membranes and on the cell surface. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In most cases, gene duplications are expected to be either selectively neutral or detrimental due to the fitness costs of their maintenance, limiting the ability of a cell to maintain duplicated copies long enough for beneficial mutations to occur (13). However, solutions to this problem have been proposed based on the observation that most new enzyme activities closely resemble the original activity of the enzyme. Active sites of specialized enzymes often bind molecules that have some resemblance to their natural or physiological substrates, although usually with much lower affinity (16). If an enzyme can bind an unintended substrate and catalyze a secondary reaction that is physiologically irrelevant, it is said to have catalytic promiscuity . If this secondary activity becomes physiologically relevant by increasing fitness, selection will favor genetic changes that take advantage of this new activity (11). The promiscuous activity of essential enzymes or those that are constitutively expressed are usually the first to be recruited in the face of an environmental change due to their active and selectable presence in the cell (11). Alternatively, mutations that cause constitutive expression of non essential genes that can be subsequently recruited to produce essential metabolites via their promiscuous activities have been documented (29, 5). Correlational vs. Causation The topic Keeping a Diary Doubles Diet Weight Loss seems to offer a solution in relation to weight loss and keeping a diary. Therefore, without reading the article, the topic offers an impression of a causal claim. Causal claims are supported by having independent and dependent variable. The independent variable is the factor that can be manipulated to result to change on another factor (Christensen, Johnson Turner, 2014). In other words, the independent variable represents the cause while the dependent variable represents the effect in an experiment (Rea Parker, 2014).
