IV. How do Apple s reward system motivate employees?
It s not a secret that Apple has plentiful rewards for its employee, however, the aim of distributing the
rewards is to get high performance from employees. Then, how does Apple use rewards to get
innovation and productivity from employees? I think this question needs to relate to Apple s corporate
philosophy building a performance culture, which requires significant differentiation based on
performance, and it s clear that in this culture, the top performers and those who are working on
mission critical products are treated significantly differently.
The rewards for motivating top executives
The rewards for executives are stock option and bonus, since stock option, which cannot be sell at one
time, as a primary motivator could forces executives to focus on the company s performance. Because
the company s performance and its stock price are tied tightly up with the money he or she could get.
(e.g. Apple rewarded executives with $ 60 million stock granted in 2011 before the launching of
iPhone 5)

Was The Bombing Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki Ethically...
Was the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ethically justified? Why Truman decided to drop the
atomic bombs on Japan By Grace Kelsall World War 2 saw the emergence of America as a new world
power on August 6th 1945, also internationally known as the traumatizing day for Hiroshima; after an
American B 29 bomber dropped the world s first atomic bomb. World War Two is considered a great
turning point in modern history, it being one of the bloodiest and horrific wars; exposing all countries
around the world to the nuclear age. Many key events, battles and campaigns have led up to President
Truman s decision, which ultimately brought the surrender of Japan and subsequent end of World War
Two. Nevertheless, the ethical implications of this act are still being debated today. The bombing of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki was ethically justified to a significant extent. Conversely, the motives from
President Truman is evident that he had logical reasoning behind his decision to bomb Japan, however
from a perspective outside America his actions are portrayed as disgusting and inhumane . While the
bombing immensely affected Japan, there were also various factors that have impacted America.
These two perspectives have exhibited to change over time, both showing sympathy towards each
nation; predominantly America, now bringing them even closer together in present day time. Many
significant individuals played a monumental role in the bombing of the populous cities Hiroshima and

Signs Miracles Paper
SIGNS AND MIRACLES PAPER
Liberty University, November 27th , 2011
Introduction
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this book. But
these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you
may have life in His name. John 20:30 31 (HCSB)
In the Gospel of John there are eight recorded sign miracles that Jesus Christ performed. This paper
will briefly describe each miracle and how it reveals the deity of Jesus Christ.
Turning of Water into Wine
The first miracle Jesus performed was changing water into wine. He and His disciples arrived at a
wedding celebration that was already in progress. Mary, the mother of Jesus, came to Him and ...

He knew these people were not following Him because of who He was, but because of the miracles
they had seen or heard He had performed. Nevertheless, Jesus saw their need for food. Jesus knew
how He would handle the situation, but before He told His disciples, Andrew brought a small boy and
his lunch to Jesus. Although Andrew s had little faith concerning what could be done with it, Jesus
used his small faith and turned that tiny lunch into a feast for all the people. He first prayed over the
meal, which showed His dependence upon the Father.[7] This miracle displayed Jesus power over
food and His willingness to use whatever we willingly offer.[8] Jesus tells the people I am the bread of
life; he who comes to me will certainly not hunger, and he who believes in me will certainly not thirst,
ever. (John 6:35) Jesus claim to be the bread of life further reveals His deity. As Morris says, The
bread symbolism is complex, but clearly Jesus is the supplier of our deepest needs. [9]
Jesus Walking on the Water
The next miracle recorded occurred later that same day. The disciples were waiting for Jesus, who had
withdrawn for prayer, before they set sail across the Sea of Galilee. He had not arrived by dark, so
they left without Him and set sail into a storm. Halfway through the journey, the sea was raging and
the disciples were afraid. Then Jesus came toward them, walking on the water, and calmed

The Public Facilities Privacy Security Act
In March 2016, a bathroom bill, entitled the Public Facilities Privacy Security Act was introduced in
North Carolina and signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory. Commonly referred to as HB2, or
House Bill 2, this law states that within government buildings, like schools, an individual must use the
restroom or changing facility that matches the sex listed on their birth certificate. For transgender
individuals, this presents a problem, as their birth sex and the gender with which they identify do not
match. Several other states, including South Dakota, Florida, Tennessee, and Wisconsin have
introduced similar bills. Although these forms of legislature may seem of concern to only a minority, it
should ultimately concern anyone who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spokespeople for other North Carolina police departments have made similar statements (Michaels).
Even if such a thing were plausible, how would one determine whether or not to allow a particular
person into the restroom?
Consider, for a moment, people who are gender non conforming. These individuals are comfortable
with their biological sex, male or female, but choose to present themselves in a way that is not typical
of or expected for their gender. For example, a female may shirk feminine gender roles and dress in a
way that is considered masculine. Now imagine a scenario in which such an individual wants to use
the women s restroom. They do not look as is expected for a female, but they are female nonetheless.
Would a law enforcement officer request they present some form of ID or even their birth certificate?
Would there be someone on standby to examine bathroom goer s genitals, or check their DNA to
ensure they have the correct chromosomes? On the other hand, there are many cases in which a
transgender person is virtually indistinguishable from a non transgender person, and this says nothing
of intersex people who fall outside of the sex binary. The fact of the matter is that gender and sex are
often blurred lines. In those cases, the only way to be certain the person entering the restroom was of
the proper sex would be through the use of the extreme and

William Still s Running A Thousand Miles For Freedom
William Still was born on October 7, 1821 in Burlington County, New Jersey. He was born free
because his father purchased his freedom. However, his parents were enslaved and later gained
freedom. His mother escaped from slavery in Maryland with her two children. In 1844, 23 year old
William moved to Philadelphia where as a self taught free man, he became employed in multiple jobs
and soon joined the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery. In 1847, he married
Letitia George whom he had four children with. He committed fourteen years to this society and the
Underground Railroad, helping house runaways in his home. In 1852, William became the chairman
of the Vigilance Committee. The committee helped in the aid and support of fugitive slaves before and
during the Fugitive Slave Act, offering financial assistance and boarding for fugitive slaves. He

Reading Access And The Teacher Salary Gap
The substratum of the society is predicated on inculcation since it brings economic and convivial
prosperity. Being educated enhances an individual to live a reverent life in the society. This is because
education offers a setting in which culture and values of a society are developed. In this generation,
inculcation in modern society provides a forum where the society examines its issues and identifies
solutions. The advancement of a society both economically and convivially is by gaining edification
which consequently enables them to run a modern society.getting access to education has always been
difficult and beneficial to people who are willing to learn. USA is a powerful country and her
advantages on education are limitless for teacher and students but Cameroon has less advantages and
less teachers.USA and Cameroon with education system are very different. i will compare the
difference between teachers skills, book access and the teacher salary gap between both countries.
Cameroon is a good country and has a good education system. however, she has a lot to learn from the
USA in terms of teaching skills, book access and teacher salary gap. The role of the teacher in the
educational system set up is very consequential. It is a two way process like student and skills, or
maybe two sides of the same coin. It is beyond argument that good education is a backbone of the
society and country system. He represents whole of the society in school which is a sub society or

Roy Adaptation Theory
Running head: ROY S ADAPTATION MODEL Nursing theory is an organized framework of
concepts that are designed to guide nursing practice and provide a foundation for clinical decision
making. There are many different types of nursing theories. This present paper will focus on one of the
Grand theories, the Roy Adaptation model (RAM). The paper is divided into four main sections
focusing on the importance of the RAM; summary of key concepts; view of RAM on specialization;
and conclusion. There has been an evolution of nursing practice from when Florence Nightingale
started. Nurses used to take direct medical direction to an evolution of independence. Today, advanced

The six steps include assessing behaviors, assessing and categorizing the stimuli, making a diagnosis,
setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating achievement. Roy also emphasizes that the
nurses should use their intuitive skills while assessing and initiating interventions. Roy s adaptation
theory has been used to perform nursing research for the past 35 years (Dobratz, 2008). The Boston
Based Adaptation in Nursing Research Society (BBARNS) helped provide and validate the use of Roy
adaptation model in nursing research. They helped identify over 163 studies of which 116 had links to
the RAM process. As a consequence, this theory has been used world wide for research including
holistic methods. I have practiced as a cardiology nurse for the past twenty years and I have seen the
implementation of RAM. Roy s theory can be applied to research pertaining to Cardiology patients.
On example of this is patients suffering with heart failure. It is estimated that 5.1 million patients have
heart failure and one in 9 will die from it (CDC.gov). Furthermore, more than half the patients gt; 65
years of age are readmitted with heart failure with in 6 months. This has started to place a significant

The 4th Amendment In The Fourth Amendment
All counter terrorism efforts potentially violate the 4th Amendment because First of all, I think that
they violate the 4th amendment science It is proved that they kind of disrespect the privacy of others
by making certain agreements with other people to get information from anywhere that people didn t
know that they were getting. Another reason that can prove that they violated the 4th Amendment is
that before this program called PRISM came out the government would go and ask for permission to
get any type of information but after this program came out It turned out that everything was a secret.
Also basically everything about getting people s information was a secret until one day a man called
Edward Snowden came out with this point of privacy and he had to end up leaving the country and
hiding because the government disagreed with his opinions for a reason. This letter will attempt to the

of others by making certain agreements with other people to get information from anywhere that

Similarities Between Jesus Of Nazareth And The Dream Of...
Words are More Powerful than Visuals In the poem Dream of the Rood the way the writer speaks
makes the poem seem more powerful than the movie Jesus of Nazareth . The movie depicts the cross
as a symbol of shame and cruelty. The writer of the poem describes the cross as a symbol of hope and
a way of salvation for lost sinners. I can see how this poem is a very big part of Anglo Saxon culture
and religion. The writer of this poem also makes the second coming of Christ a form of comfort for
those that are waiting for their heavenly home. (Frank Zeffirelli, Jesus of Nazareth, RAI, 1977) The
poem puts the cross in a set location whereas the movie (Jesus of Nazareth) it is Christ who has to
carry his own cross hung there to die. The movie Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker also puts emphasis on the judgement when Christ returns bringing with him the ultimate
judgement. The movie has Christ gathered together in one of his followers home explaining to them
events of what will come when he returns. As John Canuteson uses Matthew chapter twenty four verse
twenty seven in his journal for as lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be (294). He also uses verse thirty to further explain the
second coming And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with
power and great glory (Canuteson 294). The poet compares the second coming as a time for great joy
and for those to not fear because when Christ comes for the final judgement all will know where they
stand. The poet further explains that he will be the ruler of all creation. The movie also has Jesus
stating when he is speaking with his apostles that he will be Lord of all he further illustrates this with
all the miracles that he

Protests Riots Of The United States
Protests riots in the United States has proven to an issue for both the country s financial strength and
the unity of the nation. With the presence of social injustices, combined with the increased impact of
social media propaganda, protests riots are beginning to reach an all time high. Protest riots destroy
individual communities and businesses, jeopardizes the safety of others and taints the protest s cause
by resorting to civil disobedience. Action must be done in order to prevent these random acts of
violence from continuing after every social hot topic. The goal is not to prevent citizens from
protesting; in fact, this should be encouraged. The goal is to change the way the protests are handled
from both the citizens and authority perspectives, in order to prevent these protests from escalating
into something dangerous. There are three solutions that need to be introduced in order to correct the
problems caused by protest riots. If police officers change their approach when dealing with protests,
there is a smaller chance that a protest will escalate into a riot. Also if there are hidden cameras
implanted around the community and inside policer officer uniforms more people will be caught for
their actions. If rioters embrace a more peaceful approach toward social injustices, they will be higher
regarded by the general public. Purvi Shah, a demonstrator in the 2014 Ferguson protest, described her

The Understanding Of Reading Comprehension
Abstract Reading is the process of constructing meaning through the self motivated interaction among
the reader s knowledge and the material proposed by the written language and the context of the
reading situation. The understanding of reading comprehension is to teach reading to students acquire
reading skills to become independent learners. The strategies of teaching will be used to help students
achieve their reading goals. In areas such as mathematics, developing teacher content knowledge has
been a major concern because it is generally accepted that teachers who know these subjects are better
able to teach them. As teachers, we need to research strategies that can be used to teach students how
to read in every content area. Our focus in this literature review will be on mathematics and how
teachers can find different strategies and activities to use to help students learn to read and also to use
prior knowledge as they implement these strategies. Keywords: Knowledge Content, comprehension,
mathematics Introduction Reading is a natural life skill, and students must be able to read in order to
function in society. Even in our everyday responsibilities such as working, grocery shopping, driving,
banking, and reading the newspaper, we are required to do some sort of reading. One of the ways in
which teachers can help students improve their reading skills is through strategy instruction (Duke

The Influence of Greek Thought on Modern Science and Mathematics
Parallels can be drawn from Greek thought and compared to today s modern world views. This
comparison also brings forth the influences of the Greek philosophies to the world s contemporary
aspects. More specifically, mathematics and science elicit the relationships of the ancient Greek
beliefs and the existing theories and truths.
Mathematics, as it relates to the Greek era and the present time, had created and still creates a very
new approach to the thoughts of the mechanics of nature. For instance, Pythagoras, the Greek
mathematician and philosopher, believed the physical world would be explained by numbers. He used
his theory of numbers and applied them to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theory of relativity is the theory of measurement; therefore, Einstein uses numbers in relation with
the fundamental laws of physics. Physics is the mechanics of nature, which can be calculated through
use of numbers. The application of Pythagoras theory to Einstein s relativity is obviously not directly
related; however, the relevancy of mathematics used with the accordance of nature has influenced
many intellectuals, which in turn directly assisted Einstein s theory. Some of these intellectuals are
Aristotle, Ptolemy, and Newton.
The field of science during the times of the Greeks have greatly influenced the modern world as one
perceives it in the present day. The atomic theory has much responsibility for the relation of Greek
thought and modern beliefs. Democritus was one of the fir4st Greek philosophers to explain the theory
of the atom. He said that it was indivisible. Furthermore, he explained that each element is made of
particles, and that change occurs by the transfer of the atoms. In comparison to the modern day atomic
theory, Democritus had the correct notion as to the significance of the atom it is indivisible. From the
research done, Democritus idea of the atom did not directly influence the contemporary theory of the
atom. The Greek

James Lincoln Collier s My Brother Sam Is Dead
Truly believing in something means that you are willing to stand up for it and risk your life or suffer
consequences because of it. In James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier s My Brother Sam is
Dead, Sam Meeker did just that. It showed a story where even though standing up for something that
you believe leads to other conflicts, it s worth it if you truly believe in it.
During the American Revolution, people would risk their lives for what they believed in specifically
freedom, and they would be willing to suffer the consequences of their actions. This book takes place
in a time period where it was quite common for young men to join the army and the fight for freedom.
In an argument between Father and Sam, Sam brings up, Sir, it s worth dying to be free. This
statement is showing how Sam feels about freedom. Even though Sam believes it, didn t mean that
others did. Sam s father hadn t agreed with him, which sparked a bigger argument. The argument had
created a very tense relationship between Sam and Father, but Sam had stood up for what he believed
even though others around him didn t agree. It showed that even though he knew ... Show more

Analysis Of Beauty And The Beast And Apuleius s Cupid...
Jeanne Marie LePrince de Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast and Apuleius s Cupid and Psyche both
use a pair of sisters as a shadow figure to the beauty in the story. A shadow figure is a term used from
Carl Jung s Process of Individuation , that describes the character who impedes on beauty s growth is
a shadow character. The sisters in both stories hold features that beauty should gain in the end, such as
marriage, being confident, and wanting more for herself. The sisters also hold features that are the
opposite of beauty such as selfishness, envy, and being materialistic. These are ways that we can
define the sisters as being the shadow. Although at first it seems the shadow figures of the sisters in
Beauty and the Beast and Cupid and Psyche both are trying to ruin beauty s development,
nevertheless, both sets of sisters have different methods of ruining her individuation such as the sister
s different relationships with beauty before she goes to the beast, different ways of stunting her
growth, and different results after they attempt to ruin her individuation.
At first, the sisters in the two stories seem to have similar ways in ruining beauty s development. Both
the pairs of sisters are envious of their younger sister. You would almost think that the two older ones
were twins from how alike they are. In Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast, the virtues of their younger
sister had filled them with a good deal of envy (Beaumont, 138). This is about the older sisters. The

Shaw, Arms and Heroes
The Nobel Prize winning author George Bernard Shaw was born on July 26, 1856 in Dublin, Ireland.
During his early years, Shaw and his two older siblings received their education from their clerical
uncle whom provided them with tutoring sessions. He received an irregular education because he
disliked the idea of organized training. Shaw grew to explore and appreciate various art forms through
the influence of his mother whom would take him on a regular basis to visit the National Gallery of
Ireland. During the year 1872, Shaw s mother left his father taking his two older sisters with her to
London. Shaw decided to join his family in London four years later after deciding to pursue writing.
His mother supported Shaw financially as he strove to write his first few novels. Unfortunately, these
novels met with failure. Publishers rejected them. Therefore, Shaw turned his attention away from
novel writing to focus on British academic politics and activities. He joined the Fabian Society during
the year 1884 and quickly became heavily integrated within the group. The following year Shaw was
able to find writing opportunities by composing critical reviews of literature, art, music and theatre.
Shaw was persuaded to join the Saturday Review as a theatre critic in 1895. Shaw took advantage of
his position and decided to write plays in order to illustrate his criticism of the English stage . Thus,
his first collection of works Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant was published in 1898. The

Contribution Of Indian Nationalism
The Indian independence movement was simply a response to British colonialism and oppression of
the Indian subcontinent inhabitants. Indian nationalism was the most crucial factor of Indian
independence, because it resulted in the swadeshi movement and national heros that joined the
different people of India. Shivaji preceded Mohandas Gandhi, but both were among the first national
heros. Indian national heroes are closely connected to Indian nationalism, but it is critically important
to first understand Indian Nationalism.
Indian nationalism was illustrated by people of Indian independence movement only in an effort to
connect the various races of India. Nationalism can be described as the loyalty and devotion to one
nation. Nationalists tend to exalt a nation, which is a group of people that care commonalities such as
language, religion, traditions, customs, and habits. Nationalism, as exhibited by Indians, could lead to
the desire for national furtherance of a nation or the striving for political independence. Indian
Nationalism was propagated by philosophical anarchists, especially Mohandas Gandhi and Bhagat
Singh. Indian Nationalists were fiercely occupied with creating their own idiosyncratic form of
nationalism. Many Indian nationalists argued for nationalism on the verge of anarchism like Tagore.
Tagore believed that european nationalism was a by product of capitalism , and gave rise to such evils
as colonialism (Tagore 6). Furthermore, Tagore believed that

ABSTRACT:
A new family of apple os x and ios malware was detected by palo alto networks , named wireluker . It
heralds a new era in malware across Apple s desktop and mobile platforms . It is the second detected
malware family that attacks iOS devices through OS X via USB and can infect installed iOS
applications similar to a traditional virus. This malware install s third party applications on non
jailbroken iOS devices through enterprise provisioning. WireLurker was generally used to trojanize
467 OS X applications on the Maiyadi App Store, which was a third party Mac application in China.
In the past six months, 469 infected applications were downloaded over 356,106 times and have
impacted thousands of devices.
WireLurker attacks any iOS device connected to USB with an infected OS X computer and installs
maiyadi applications or automatically generated malicious applications onto the device. WireLurker
exhibits anti reversing with the help of multiple component versions, customized encryption, code
obfuscation, hiding files and complex code structure.

Nicu Learning Goals
During the past few shifts, I have been astonished, and thankful about how often the nurses, doctors,
and respiratory therapists have been providing me with learning opportunities. I feel this is because
they have observed my enthusiasm and willingness to learn. For example, I asked a nurse if I could
observe her giving care to a 24 week old preemie with necrotizing entercolitis. This nurse explained,
that because of this baby s immature age, she had to cluster the baby s cares, and monitor this baby s
oxygen saturation. If the baby was overly stimulated her oxygen saturation would decrease, and the
nurse needed to stop working with the baby. This nurse also pulled up a PowerPoint about NEC, so I
had a visual of this baby s condition. She provided me with a NICU parent book, and I read the
section about NEC. This nurse said that she gives NICU parents this book to read, so that they have a
better understanding about their baby s condition. This is an awesome education technique that I want
to adopt. This is because the parents will hear the diagnosis explained from the doctor and nurse. They

Shale Gas Fracking As A Means Of Increasing Energy...
Title:
Turning Shale to Energy: UK government investment in shale gas fracking as a means of increasing
energy security
Hypothesis:
This project will support the view that UK government investment in shale gas fracking will decrease
dependence on foreign energy imports.
Research Aims:
1. To examine the role of the Middle East and Russia in the energy market and why in the last 5 10
years, the oil, coal and gas market has been deemed insecure.
2. To discuss the UK s dependence on imports of foreign energy and why investing in shale gas
resources would strengthen the state s energy security and economy.
3. To highlight the concerns of national environmental and conservation groups on the environmental
impacts of fracking. Theoretical Debate:
Case Study:
In the mid 1960s, sources of natural gas were found in the North Sea. By the 1980s, although coal was
the primary source of electricity in the country, gas was seen as the cleanest, cheapest and most
reliable source of energy available (Bradshaw, 2012, p. 7). However by 2005, North Sea production
dried up and the UK was once again dependent on foreign gas imports. In 2009 imports from foreign
states supplied almost half the UK s energy needs; by 2020 this is expected to rise to between 80 and
90 percent. In 2011, the demand for gas reached 37% (Taylor, 2013, p. 109). Thus like many other
countries in the EU, today the UK is debating the costs of importing energy from overseas and the
importance of energy security. There

Recruitment Methods
The purpose of this memorandum is to guide the company on how to conduct an efficient and
effective recruitment and selection process when hiring senior level employees. Below I have
provided a few of the top options that the organization can easily put in place for the use of recruiting
and selection new senior level staff.
Recruitment Methods Recruiting qualified candidates that are able to adequately handle and manage
senior level positions of the organization takes a great deal of time and patience. Placing individuals
who are not sufficiently knowledgeable at a senior level could cause an organization a great deal of
damage and money. It s therefore advisable for every organization to apply some of these methods.

There might be employees working as junior staffs but they have the required qualifications thus when
an opportunity arises they are given the priority.
Selection Methods Selecting suitable candidates for senior level positions of the organization is also
an essential undertaking. There are several considerations an organization must take into an account
about a candidate before hiring them.
1. Credentials Assessment. It is very important to know what experience and skillset a candidate
brings with them when joining an organization. Individuals with higher degrees, received from
premier colleges demonstrate commitment through their qualifications. (McDonald, 2012)
2. Position Matching. Another vital component to the selection process is matching the right
individual to the position. For example, a senior level staff member in charge of the organization s
finances must have experience and knowledge relating to the management of how a company s
finances are handled. If the candidate s experience and skills do not match the position being filled,
then obviously, this candidate is not the right match. Hiring a candidate with only some of the skills
needed for that specific position could put the organization in a very compromising position.
(McDonald, 2012)
3. Personal Characteristics. Another imperative element when selecting senior staff is their personal
characteristics in relation to their leadership

Frantz Fanon Concerning Violence Essay
In Frantz Fanon s text Concerning Violence he establishes his response to colonization and
decolonization to be the simple act of violence against the oppressor. I find that Fanon s reasoning s
for using the sole practice of violence to directly reflect his past experiences. Fanon was affected
directly and indirectly by experiencing the Fascist and Colonial violence as an African man and also
witnessing the atrocities of his peers while growing up in Martinique. He also witnessed the atrocities
of WWII when he fought against Nazi Germany and during the Algerian War as Algerians tried to gain
independence from France. His only answer to the dehumanizing violent atrocities was to fight back
with extreme violence to regain freedom from the world s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought that the footage of white colonists was the most disturbing part of this film, in particular the
two missionaries who settled in Tanzania in order to start the religious culture of Christianity in the
community. The couple uses Christianity as an excuse to think the natives are barbaric or unholy for
practicing polygamy, even though the bible does not actually support monogamy. This example
displays Fanon s ideas that the colonizer does not call the natives to God s ways but to the ways of the
white man. (Fanon, 41) The lectures in class this week and the article 10 of the Most Lethal CIA
Interventions in Latin America by Olivier Acuña has opened my eyes to the U.S. s international
political connections. The U.S. has proved throughout history to be self serving and has proven to
intervene in nations that will lead to its own economic and political advantages. I find it unfortunate
that the CIA and American government tries to pride itself on our democratic system, but will support
corrupt dictators and absolute rulers

Essay about The Middle Colonies
After the first few struggling settlements in the New World progressed, more and more colonies
sprung from the untested North American soil. Eventually, there were three main categories to the
European colonies. They were each unique, although one certain class stood in stark contrast to the
other two. This group, the Middle colonies, was a halfway point between the New England and
Southern colonies and not just geographically. The Middle colonies extracted parts of its neighbors,
like farming habits and spiritual sects, but the middle group managed to retain its own flavor. Perhaps
one of the most important circumstances of the New World was the varying climate. The North
American continent was not the same as its southern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A significant factor of any civilization, be it vast as the Roman Empire or pitifully miniscule, is
spirituality. Religion was (and even remains to be) a big part of North America. New England was
strictly Puritan. English Puritans sought out haven in the New World, far away from persecution in the
mother country. The Southern colonies consisted mostly of Anglicans, though some may speculate
that the Southerners were more concerned with worshipping wealth. The Middle colonies were quite
different in that there was no single dominant religion. Pennsylvania, which contained the largest city
in all the thirteen colonies, was well known for its many Quaker residents. However, there was also a
fair share of Jews, Catholics, and other faiths, as well as the standard Puritans and Anglicans. Overall,
the most defining factor of the Middle colonies was its ethnic diversity. The backgrounds of its
inhabitants included (but was not limited to) German, Dutch, Scotch Irish, English, French, Welsh,
Swedish, Polish, and Finnish. New England could not compete, for its population was almost entirely
English, save for the scattered Dutch remnants of New Amsterdam and the Native Americans, of
course. The South was biracial, which meant that one was black, white, or an exceedingly rare mixture
of the two. The Middle colonies had slaves, though its percentage of slaves in the population was
between those of

Skin Whitening Stereotypes
1. In contrast to stereotypes that skin whitening is purely cosmetic, dermatologists actually prescribe
exfoliants to their patients for skin diseases.
In general, most people feel more confident with clear skin, even. For many, the battle with skin
disease can be a real obstacle that needs to be overcome to achieve this goal. That is why
dermatologists prescribe skin lightening medications to treat common ailments that lead to unevenness
or discoloration. Dr. Kassim explains, One of the most common reasons for patients to be prescribed
exfoliates is that treatment of postmenopausal phenomena can occur to anyone.
Spots that appear due to skin or inflammatory attacks such as acne may be blurred by using drugs for
affected areas. Melasma, the appearance of stains discolored on the face, usually Triggered by
hormonal changes during pregnancy and by sun exposure, also reacts well to skin exfoliation. In many
other cases, lightening the skin can even help reduce the sight of age spots, moles, litters and scars.
2. There is no bleach associated with skin lightening.
Exfoliants work by reducing a pigment called melanin. By using drugs for darker pigmented areas
parts of the body or face darker than others melanin production is interrupted allowing the skin to

There are many people in the world that usually do not know what they are speaking; this might be

The Power Of Freedom Of Expression In Music
Throughout the years, Music has always played an influential part on our social behavior. I personally
believe that the Music we listen to everyday, the lyrics we hear are favorite artist sing or rap has a key
part into how we conduct ourselves. Why should we oppose censorship when corporations pay
thousands of dollars to create a murder scene and mayhem in a music video and release it to the public
and it usually dominates the TV screen, when works of art can be seen as a direct insult to people s

keep your family safe and other popular items just to have what you need to fit in or belong to a
certain in group. Media not only influence a person s purchase choices but also can sway their
political opinions. What is seen on the news can influence people to hate a certain group because they
are a threat to the safety of families or politically influence a vote for a candidate because so families
will prosper. Media influences self esteem by suggesting finding love or being able to fit in a person
should have a certain body type and if that goal is not met a negative self image or feeling of failure
could ensue. Eating disorders have been tied to media s trend toward portraying women in certain
model thinness and promoting only that body type (Neda Feeding Hope). Media is 95% controlled by
two companies NBC Universal and Sony Corporation of America. They own radio, television,
networks, programming, sports and movie theaters and more. Since those two companies control what
we are exposed to daily they can have a strong influence on our behavior and motivators. Media is a
business and as such they are building audience ratings to promote revenue and profits (Curtis). Media
is power because it influences our lives on a daily basis and because of that power it is has been called

How I Have Made And Are Seeking Advice
I have heard that you regret the choices you have made and are seeking advice. I would like to
reassure you that I am here to help you. I know something wonderful that can help you find peace and
heal you personally as well as your damaged relationship with God and the community.
When people sin, they turn away and disobey God. They are choosing their own way instead of
remaining faithful to God. When a person sins, it creates a separation between the community, God
and the person. Whenever someone sins it hurts and affects the community of believers. When we sin,
we damage our ability to experience God s love and to live fully with a freed conscience. Our actions
have a ripple effect that affects the whole community. This means that we ... Show more content on

Over all, the Church has developed formal rituals that address the needs of people to be reconciled
with God and the church.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls for repentance and conversion of heart. This means, turning
away from sin and bad choices and turn towards God and others. Through this sacrament, members of
the Catholic Church can continue to experience God s mercy and forgiveness and are reconciled with
God, themselves and the church community. Catholics believe that through Reconciliation they
receive the grace and power from God to turn away from evil and turn to a new way of being.
Reconciliation celebrates the conversion to a new way of living. The new relationship between self,
God and community. All of us will at some point in our life need reconciliation with people and
sometimes even with ourselves. For Christians, it is also important to reconcile with God. We all
experience times when we need forgiveness for how we have behaved but it must begin with a change
of heart.
Before you go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is important to understand what will happen.
Going to confession is a concrete sign that we are sorry for our sin and shows that we are ready to do
something about changing our behaviour. When going to Confession, there is two main people
involved: the penitent, who is seeking forgiveness and the priest, who is absolving you of your sins.
The priest does not forgive sins

High School Writing Analysis
Throughout my years of being a student I ve written several pieces for several different classes, some I
may flaunt just a bit while with other pieces I try to just turn in, get a grade, and then hide in the back
of a folder in order to keep others from seeing the slightly subpar work I may have produced. While I
always do try to write eloquently there has always been that one assignment in that one class in which
I just try my hardest to get a good grade rather than write something I m particularly proud of. For
example, last year for AP World History I produced a well formatted, well researched paper on the
Guatemalan genocide. While it was written properly I feel as though I could have provided more
depth and insight on the topic being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do know that these are not the types of papers that I can just write in order to please a teacher by
following an outline to get a good grade, these are papers that require a different type of
comprehension as to the topic you re writing. Being able to reflect back onto the papers I ve done in
high school, book reports in particular, it s clear as to which mistakes I ve made in my writing. One of
the errors that I am probably most guilty of is not writing to a proper audience. The first thing I m
usually thinking when writing a paper is will this appeal to my teacher? and is this good enough to
score an A? and I don t believe that s a particularly good way to go about writing when in college.
Rather than speaking solely to your professors, it s important to be sure a wider array of people can
enjoy or relate to what it is you re writing. For example I m sure this paper in particular could appeal
to many high school students, because I m sure we re all guilty of making this mistake when

Steroids In The Sports Industry
With the size of the fitness world, does it mislead members to both unbeneficial and monetary waste?
In 2015 the global health club industry was worth 81.2 billion dollars and this begs the question of
whether the clubs really help and keep a majority of their members working towards a beneficial
result. According to statista.com there over a 150 million members to the 187,000 clubs worldwide.
Around the world there are over 2 billion people that are considered obese and that is over 30% of the
world s population. This is why the fitness and health industry is such a large industry. The question is
does marketing lead a misleading route or drive the world to a healthier place. Most studies have
shown that the fitness world is more about making ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The media, television, magazines and fitness products don t all lead to a negative effect and many
people are motivated to go to the gym by the media and marketing that is promoted but most people
need to ask themselves if they are getting the best benefit they can from what they are doing for
themselves. Fitness isn t really raised by the idea of marketing whether it is misleading or not and yes
the dropout rates are higher than most people may believe they are but if someone has the
determination to get fit and stay fit no marketing can change that but it can convince them to change
their habits or the style of fitness they are perusing. For instance the new idea of crossfit is it
something that will stick around or is it a fad that will fade

Middle School Athletics Staffing Essay
Middle School Athletics Staffing
In the business world, each year is different from the other, same goes for the academic division. It is a
fact that people come and people go for all types of reasons. Change is forever arising, sometimes for
the better or worse. Within the middle school athletics level there are 13 Athletic Directors (AD)
positions and 160 or more coaching positions, dependent on each teams participation. AD s and
coaches are paid employees of the district. The AD s supervise the coaches at their individual school
buildings or act as a sports liaison within their assigned school. The coaches simply coach. Many of
our coaches have experience in the sport they are coaching, but sometimes we need a warm body or
parent/volunteer to coach a team. In the area of Athletics you are always asked to work or volunteer
more than you get paid. In most cases if you put in 40 hours weeks then you are paid for 40 hours. In
athletics you may put in 40 hours and are only compensated 15 hours. The middle school AD position
is part time and pays 10 12 hours per week. So you can imagine the high turnover rate for AD s.
Coaches are paid based on their experience in the sport they are coaching. The coaches is pay is a
percentage of the teacher s contract. It can range from 3 5% of $37,600 and the teacher s contract
varies from year to year. The Athletics Department made a direct observation and diagnosed several
problems identified above which were the high turnover

Essay on Hawaiian Navigation
Hawaiian Navigation
How did the Polynesians find their way to Hawaii, over two thousand miles from any other land? Was
it over population at home, or political turmoil? Whatever reason for leaving these people used
amazing knowledge and skill of the ocean and of the sky to navigate them to this new land. They
faced the unknown and braved into the wide open ocean for long periods of time. The real focus in
this paper is on the navigation techniques that they used in these voyages throughout the Pacific.
It s impossible to teach someone the significance or the act of loving the stars and the ocean but that s
what makes navigation without instruments (wayfinding) so beautiful. One can give the heavens a
meaning his own meaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then in the 1980 s came the voyages of rediscovery navigated by Nainoa Thompson from Hawaii to
Tahiti and from Tahiti back to Hawaii. Thompson was the first Hawaiian to sail this route in over 500
years. The voyages in between took the Hokule a (some 16000 miles) to the Society Islands, Cook
Islands, New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa and back home via Aitutaki, Tahiti, Rangiroa in the Tuamotu
Archipelago (Baybayan, Kawaharada, 1996). The Hokule a became the symbol of pride in Polynesian
heritage that links all the people of Polynesia together.
In the 1990 s there were more voyages to Marquesan Islands and from the West Coast of the United
States up to Alaska. This is when education became the focus of the voyages of the Hokule a. They
then built the Hawaiilo a, another Polynesian voyaging canoe, this one made of traditional materials.
The Hawaiilo a added to the curiosity and the revival of culture throughout the world. The natives of
all ands throughout the world are figuring out the importance of their cultures and bringing back the
knowledge. Now all cultures worldwide can help each other save the past and use it for the future.
Techniques :
Nainoa Thompson created the star compass, as the basis for direction finding in non instrument
navigation. The horizon is divided into 32 sections called houses. Nainoa has placed

Ezra Durkheim s The Division Of Labor In Society
Men must not cut down trees. There is a God. Change the world. No one kills from hatred.1 These are
the words that Septimus mutters to himself while trying to embrace the traumatic experiences of war.
However, after over a century from WWI, significant majority of the world is a participator in some
form of a deadly conflict. According to Durkheim in The Division of Labor in Society, the process of
creating a developed society brings a pathological side effect of chaos and disorder. From that
perspective, the act of making the world modern is nothing else but making it more disturbed and
filled with conflict. Along with rapid social and cultural changes around the world, the concept of
modernity is no longer a form of improvement, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The society, experienced by the events in the past, is strongly convinced of the stagnation within the
social structures. The possibility of social growth is compared by Ezra to the lottery, a change one can
only dream of. The powerful proof of such social incapability to improve is offered by Du Bois.
Despite decades, the negligence of education among black communities is still as relevant as it was in
1903.4 This indicates that modernity, despite bringing radical and volatile changes, to a large extent
does not change the social hierarchy of the communities. This points to Freud s argument on
disillusionment. The society, in wake of worsening conditions, stops believing in moral and ethical
values.5 Hence, the lottery of social upgrade remains a dream nobody truly believes

It s not a secret that Apple has plentiful rewards for its employee, however, the aim of distributing the rewards is to get high performance from employees. Then, how does Apple use rewards to get innovation and productivity from employees? I think this question needs to relate to Apple s corporate philosophy building a performance culture, which requires significant differentiation based on performance, and it s clear that in this culture, the top performers and those who are working on mission critical products are treated significantly differently. The rewards for motivating top executives The rewards for executives are stock option and bonus, since stock option, which cannot be sell at one time, as a primary motivator could forces executives to focus on the company s performance. Why Truman decided to drop the atomic bombs on Japan By Grace Kelsall World War 2 saw the emergence of America as a new world power on August 6th 1945, also internationally known as the traumatizing day for Hiroshima; after an American B 29 bomber dropped the world s first atomic bomb. World War Two is considered a great turning point in modern history, it being one of the bloodiest and horrific wars; exposing all countries around the world to the nuclear age. Many key events, battles and campaigns have led up to President Truman s decision, which ultimately brought the surrender of Japan and subsequent end of World War Two. Nevertheless, the ethical implications of this act are still being debated today. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was ethically justified to a significant extent. Conversely, the motives from President Truman is evident that he had logical reasoning behind his decision to bomb Japan, however from a perspective outside America his actions are portrayed as disgusting and inhumane . While the bombing immensely affected Japan, there were also various factors that have impacted America. These two perspectives have exhibited to change over time, both showing sympathy towards each nation; predominantly America, now bringing them even closer together in present day time. Signs Miracles Paper SIGNS AND MIRACLES PAPER Liberty University, November 27th , 2011 Introduction Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30 31 (HCSB) In the Gospel of John there are eight recorded sign miracles that Jesus Christ performed. This paper will briefly describe each miracle and how it reveals the deity of Jesus Christ. Turning of Water into Wine The first miracle Jesus performed was changing water into wine. He and His disciples arrived at a wedding celebration that was already in progress. Mary, the mother of Jesus, came to Him and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He knew these people were not following Him because of who He was, but because of the miracles they had seen or heard He had performed. Nevertheless, Jesus saw their need for food. Jesus knew how He would handle the situation, but before He told His disciples, Andrew brought a small boy and his lunch to Jesus. Although Andrew s had little faith concerning what could be done with it, Jesus used his small faith and turned that tiny lunch into a feast for all the people. He first prayed over the meal, which showed His dependence upon the Father.[7] This miracle displayed Jesus power over food and His willingness to use whatever we willingly offer.[8] Jesus tells the people I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will certainly not hunger, and he who believes in me will certainly not thirst, ever. (John 6:35) Jesus claim to be the bread of life further reveals His deity. As Morris says, The bread symbolism is complex, but clearly Jesus is the supplier of our deepest needs. [9] Jesus Walking on the Water The next miracle recorded occurred later that same day. The disciples were waiting for Jesus, who had withdrawn for prayer, before they set sail across the Sea of Galilee. He had not arrived by dark, so they left without Him and set sail into a storm. Halfway through the journey, the sea was raging and the disciples were afraid. Then Jesus came toward them, walking on the water, and calmed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Public Facilities Privacy Security Act In March 2016, a bathroom bill, entitled the Public Facilities Privacy Security Act was introduced in North Carolina and signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory. Commonly referred to as HB2, or House Bill 2, this law states that within government buildings, like schools, an individual must use the restroom or changing facility that matches the sex listed on their birth certificate. For transgender individuals, this presents a problem, as their birth sex and the gender with which they identify do not match. Spokespeople for other North Carolina police departments have made similar statements (Michaels). Even if such a thing were plausible, how would one determine whether or not to allow a particular person into the restroom? Consider, for a moment, people who are gender non conforming. These individuals are comfortable with their biological sex, male or female, but choose to present themselves in a way that is not typical of or expected for their gender. For example, a female may shirk feminine gender roles and dress in a way that is considered masculine. Now imagine a scenario in which such an individual wants to use the women s restroom. They do not look as is expected for a female, but they are female nonetheless. Would a law enforcement officer request they present some form of ID or even their birth certificate? Would there be someone on standby to examine bathroom goer s genitals, or check their DNA to ensure they have the correct chromosomes? On the other hand, there are many cases in which a transgender person is virtually indistinguishable from a non transgender person, and this says nothing of intersex people who fall outside of the sex binary. The fact of the matter is that gender and sex are often blurred lines. In those cases, the only way to be certain the person entering the restroom was of the proper sex would be through the use of the extreme and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Protests Riots Of The United States Protests riots in the United States has proven to an issue for both the country s financial strength and the unity of the nation. With the presence of social injustices, combined with the increased impact of social media propaganda, protests riots are beginning to reach an all time high. Protest riots destroy individual communities and businesses, jeopardizes the safety of others and taints the protest s cause by resorting to civil disobedience. Action must be done in order to prevent these random acts of violence from continuing after every social hot topic. The goal is not to prevent citizens from protesting; in fact, this should be encouraged. The goal is to change the way the protests are handled from both the citizens and authority perspectives, in order to prevent these protests from escalating into something dangerous. There are three solutions that need to be introduced in order to correct the problems caused by protest riots. If police officers change their approach when dealing with protests, there is a smaller chance that a protest will escalate into a riot. Also if there are hidden cameras implanted around the community and inside policer officer uniforms more people will be caught for their actions. If rioters embrace a more peaceful approach toward social injustices, they will be higher regarded by the general public. The Understanding Of Reading Comprehension Abstract Reading is the process of constructing meaning through the self motivated interaction among the reader s knowledge and the material proposed by the written language and the context of the reading situation. The understanding of reading comprehension is to teach reading to students acquire reading skills to become independent learners. The strategies of teaching will be used to help students achieve their reading goals. In areas such as mathematics, developing teacher content knowledge has been a major concern because it is generally accepted that teachers who know these subjects are better able to teach them. As teachers, we need to research strategies that can be used to teach students how to read in every content area. Even in our everyday responsibilities such as working, grocery shopping, driving, banking, and reading the newspaper, we are required to do some sort of reading. Mathematics, as it relates to the Greek era and the present time, had created and still creates a very new approach to the thoughts of the mechanics of nature. The sisters in both stories hold features that beauty should gain in the end, such as marriage, being confident, and wanting more for herself. The sisters also hold features that are the opposite of beauty such as selfishness, envy, and being materialistic. These are ways that we can define the sisters as being the shadow. Although at first it seems the shadow figures of the sisters in Beauty and the Beast and Cupid and Psyche both are trying to ruin beauty s development, nevertheless, both sets of sisters have different methods of ruining her individuation such as the sister s different relationships with beauty before she goes to the beast, different ways of stunting her growth, and different results after they attempt to ruin her individuation. At first, the sisters in the two stories seem to have similar ways in ruining beauty s development. Both the pairs of sisters are envious of their younger sister. You would almost think that the two older ones were twins from how alike they are. In Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast, the virtues of their younger sister had filled them with a good deal of envy (Beaumont, 138). This is about the older sisters. The ... • 22. Shaw, Arms and Heroes The Nobel Prize winning author George Bernard Shaw was born on July 26, 1856 in Dublin, Ireland. During his early years, Shaw and his two older siblings received their education from their clerical uncle whom provided them with tutoring sessions. He received an irregular education because he disliked the idea of organized training. Shaw grew to explore and appreciate various art forms through the influence of his mother whom would take him on a regular basis to visit the National Gallery of Ireland. During the year 1872, Shaw s mother left his father taking his two older sisters with her to London. Shaw decided to join his family in London four years later after deciding to pursue writing. His mother supported Shaw financially as he strove to write his first few novels. Unfortunately, these novels met with failure. Publishers rejected them. Therefore, Shaw turned his attention away from novel writing to focus on British academic politics and activities. He joined the Fabian Society during the year 1884 and quickly became heavily integrated within the group. The following year Shaw was able to find writing opportunities by composing critical reviews of literature, art, music and theatre. Shaw was persuaded to join the Saturday Review as a theatre critic in 1895. Shaw took advantage of his position and decided to write plays in order to illustrate his criticism of the English stage . Thus, his first collection of works Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant was published in 1898. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Contribution Of Indian Nationalism The Indian independence movement was simply a response to British colonialism and oppression of the Indian subcontinent inhabitants. Indian nationalism was the most crucial factor of Indian independence, because it resulted in the swadeshi movement and national heros that joined the different people of India. Shivaji preceded Mohandas Gandhi, but both were among the first national heros. Indian national heroes are closely connected to Indian nationalism, but it is critically important to first understand Indian Nationalism. Indian nationalism was illustrated by people of Indian independence movement only in an effort to connect the various races of India. Nationalism can be described as the loyalty and devotion to one nation. Nationalists tend to exalt a nation, which is a group of people that care commonalities such as language, religion, traditions, customs, and habits. Nationalism, as exhibited by Indians, could lead to the desire for national furtherance of a nation or the striving for political independence. Indian Nationalism was propagated by philosophical anarchists, especially Mohandas Gandhi and Bhagat Singh. Indian Nationalists were fiercely occupied with creating their own idiosyncratic form of nationalism. Many Indian nationalists argued for nationalism on the verge of anarchism like Tagore. I feel this is because they have observed my enthusiasm and willingness to learn. For example, I asked a nurse if I could observe her giving care to a 24 week old preemie with necrotizing entercolitis. This nurse explained, that because of this baby s immature age, she had to cluster the baby s cares, and monitor this baby s oxygen saturation. If the baby was overly stimulated her oxygen saturation would decrease, and the nurse needed to stop working with the baby. This nurse also pulled up a PowerPoint about NEC, so I had a visual of this baby s condition. She provided me with a NICU parent book, and I read the section about NEC. • 30. Shale Gas Fracking As A Means Of Increasing Energy... Title: Turning Shale to Energy: UK government investment in shale gas fracking as a means of increasing energy security Hypothesis: This project will support the view that UK government investment in shale gas fracking will decrease dependence on foreign energy imports. Research Aims: 1. To examine the role of the Middle East and Russia in the energy market and why in the last 5 10 years, the oil, coal and gas market has been deemed insecure. 2. To discuss the UK s dependence on imports of foreign energy and why investing in shale gas resources would strengthen the state s energy security and economy. 3. To highlight the concerns of national environmental and conservation groups on the environmental impacts of fracking. Theoretical Debate: Case Study: In the mid 1960s, sources of natural gas were found in the North Sea. By the 1980s, although coal was the primary source of electricity in the country, gas was seen as the cleanest, cheapest and most reliable source of energy available (Bradshaw, 2012, p. 7). However by 2005, North Sea production dried up and the UK was once again dependent on foreign gas imports. In 2009 imports from foreign states supplied almost half the UK s energy needs; by 2020 this is expected to rise to between 80 and 90 percent. In 2011, the demand for gas reached 37% (Taylor, 2013, p. 109). Thus like many other countries in the EU, today the UK is debating the costs of importing energy from overseas and the importance of energy security. There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There might be employees working as junior staffs but they have the required qualifications thus when an opportunity arises they are given the priority. Selection Methods Selecting suitable candidates for senior level positions of the organization is also an essential undertaking. There are several considerations an organization must take into an account about a candidate before hiring them. 1. Credentials Assessment. It is very important to know what experience and skillset a candidate brings with them when joining an organization. Individuals with higher degrees, received from premier colleges demonstrate commitment through their qualifications. (McDonald, 2012) 2. Position Matching. Another vital component to the selection process is matching the right individual to the position. For example, a senior level staff member in charge of the organization s finances must have experience and knowledge relating to the management of how a company s finances are handled. If the candidate s experience and skills do not match the position being filled, then obviously, this candidate is not the right match. Hiring a candidate with only some of the skills needed for that specific position could put the organization in a very compromising position. (McDonald, 2012) 3. Personal Characteristics. This group, the Middle colonies, was a halfway point between the New England and Southern colonies and not just geographically. A significant factor of any civilization, be it vast as the Roman Empire or pitifully miniscule, is spirituality. Religion was (and even remains to be) a big part of North America. New England was strictly Puritan. English Puritans sought out haven in the New World, far away from persecution in the mother country. The Southern colonies consisted mostly of Anglicans, though some may speculate that the Southerners were more concerned with worshipping wealth. The Middle colonies were quite different in that there was no single dominant religion. Pennsylvania, which contained the largest city in all the thirteen colonies, was well known for its many Quaker residents. However, there was also a fair share of Jews, Catholics, and other faiths, as well as the standard Puritans and Anglicans. Overall, the most defining factor of the Middle colonies was its ethnic diversity. The backgrounds of its inhabitants included (but was not limited to) German, Dutch, Scotch Irish, English, French, Welsh, Swedish, Polish, and Finnish. New England could not compete, for its population was almost entirely English, save for the scattered Dutch remnants of New Amsterdam and the Native Americans, of course. • 45. How I Have Made And Are Seeking Advice I have heard that you regret the choices you have made and are seeking advice. I would like to reassure you that I am here to help you. I know something wonderful that can help you find peace and heal you personally as well as your damaged relationship with God and the community. When people sin, they turn away and disobey God. They are choosing their own way instead of remaining faithful to God. When a person sins, it creates a separation between the community, God and the person. Whenever someone sins it hurts and affects the community of believers. When we sin, we damage our ability to experience God s love and to live fully with a freed conscience. Over all, the Church has developed formal rituals that address the needs of people to be reconciled with God and the church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls for repentance and conversion of heart. This means, turning away from sin and bad choices and turn towards God and others. Through this sacrament, members of the Catholic Church can continue to experience God s mercy and forgiveness and are reconciled with God, themselves and the church community. Catholics believe that through Reconciliation they receive the grace and power from God to turn away from evil and turn to a new way of being. Reconciliation celebrates the conversion to a new way of living. The new relationship between self, God and community. All of us will at some point in our life need reconciliation with people and sometimes even with ourselves. For Christians, it is also important to reconcile with God. We all experience times when we need forgiveness for how we have behaved but it must begin with a change of heart. Before you go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is important to understand what will happen. Going to confession is a concrete sign that we are sorry for our sin and shows that we are ready to do something about changing our behaviour. When going to Confession, there is two main people involved: the penitent, who is seeking forgiveness and the priest, who is absolving you of your sins. The priest does not forgive sins ... High School Writing Analysis Throughout my years of being a student I ve written several pieces for several different classes, some I may flaunt just a bit while with other pieces I try to just turn in, get a grade, and then hide in the back of a folder in order to keep others from seeing the slightly subpar work I may have produced. While I always do try to write eloquently there has always been that one assignment in that one class in which I just try my hardest to get a good grade rather than write something I m particularly proud of. I do know that these are not the types of papers that I can just write in order to please a teacher by following an outline to get a good grade, these are papers that require a different type of comprehension as to the topic you re writing. Being able to reflect back onto the papers I ve done in high school, book reports in particular, it s clear as to which mistakes I ve made in my writing. One of the errors that I am probably most guilty of is not writing to a proper audience. The first thing I m usually thinking when writing a paper is will this appeal to my teacher? and is this good enough to score an A? and I don t believe that s a particularly good way to go about writing when in college. Rather than speaking solely to your professors, it s important to be sure a wider array of people can enjoy or relate to what it is you re writing. It is a fact that people come and people go for all types of reasons. Change is forever arising, sometimes for the better or worse. Within the middle school athletics level there are 13 Athletic Directors (AD) positions and 160 or more coaching positions, dependent on each teams participation. AD s and coaches are paid employees of the district. The AD s supervise the coaches at their individual school buildings or act as a sports liaison within their assigned school. The coaches simply coach. Many of our coaches have experience in the sport they are coaching, but sometimes we need a warm body or parent/volunteer to coach a team. In the area of Athletics you are always asked to work or volunteer more than you get paid. In most cases if you put in 40 hours weeks then you are paid for 40 hours. In athletics you may put in 40 hours and are only compensated 15 hours. The middle school AD position is part time and pays 10 12 hours per week. So you can imagine the high turnover rate for AD s. However, after over a century from WWI, significant majority of the world is a participator in some form of a deadly conflict. According to Durkheim in The Division of Labor in Society, the process of creating a developed society brings a pathological side effect of chaos and disorder. The possibility of social growth is compared by Ezra to the lottery, a change one can only dream of. The powerful proof of such social incapability to improve is offered by Du Bois. Despite decades, the negligence of education among black communities is still as relevant as it was in 1903.4 This indicates that modernity, despite bringing radical and volatile changes, to a large extent does not change the social hierarchy of the communities. This points to Freud s argument on disillusionment.
