Types Of Peking Opera
China is known for their traditional theatre art form, the Peking opera, or Beijing opera which
combines music, vocal, performance, pantomime, dance, and acrobatics. It started in the late 18th

Consider The Lobster By David Foster Wallace Analysis
American Novelist, essayist and short story author David Foster Wallace uses his essay Consider the
Lobster to tell the reader about his thought provoking visit to the Maine Lobster Festival. Wallace
wrote this essay to show his thought process dealing with the moral ambiguity of cooking lobster, and
the research he did to further understand the subject. He primarily uses an informational tone with a
heavy emphasis on pathos. He does a fairly good job remaining unbiased and showing the
counterarguments.
Wallace was sent to the Maine Lobster Festival by Gourmet Magazine, he was tasked simply to write
about his experience there. He took this as an opportunity and decided that the risk he was taking in
posing this question to the readers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following this point he points out that perhaps lobsters understand pain but they don t dislike it and
how pain is not distressing them (Wallace 63). He reinstates the fact that there is a clear difference in
pain as a purely neurological event from pain as actual suffering , the latter requiring an emotional
component (Wallace 36). Later on he states that this means that although lobster s experience pain it is
not a struggle based on discomfort but more of a preference. More akin to you preferring to sit in a
certain spot around the table. These are used to inform the reader of the physical aspects of the lobster
that affect the overall moral ambiguity of the subject.
In his closing statements he takes the time to throw some more thought provoking sentences in, calling
out a part of being a real gourmet (Wallace 64). Wallace wonders if future generations might look
back and see our current eating practices similarly to how we see tribal sacrifices today. I see this as
an extreme analogy but it has its use in this essay, it brings out the thought that perhaps we should take
a step back from our food and think about

What Are Death Camps Like In The Holocaust
Death Camps Have you ever wondered what the death camps were like in the holocaust? When all of
the jews and enemies suffered at the camps. They starved, beating, worked to death, and killed. The
holocaust was a awful time for jews and the enemies. Families were split apart and never seen again,
men worked hard labor in the camps, mothers lost their children from deaths or just taking away. You
were probably wondering what they did at the death camps and what happened in the camps? There
were six major death camps, Aishwitz, Birkenav, Chelmna, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Warsaw. Jews
weren t the only victims in the camps, there were also Gypsy people, and enemies. Only 7,650 jews
survived when the camps closed, and hundreds of millions died a day. All of this took place in the
death camps. Jews, Gypsy, and enemies went to suffer everyday. And ... Show more content on

found millions of dollars and coins, which they kept for themselves. The very first killing at the death

1941 and March 1943. Which opened in Warthegau, part of poland annexed to germany. To get rid of
the bodies they either burn them in a big smoke tower, or take out to the forest and dig a big ditch to
dump all the bodies into it. Almost all of the deportees who arrived at the camps were sent straight

The Importance Of A Utopian Society
Webster s Dictionary defines a Utopian society as a place of ideal perfection especially in laws,
government, and social conditions . The ultimate goal of a community is create a Utopian society. A
society in which everyone is equal in success. Similar to a classroom setting, a community consists of
individuals who yearn to make a difference or have a desire for success. In a community, individuals
want power, whether in monetary or in social ways. Each member of a community has a responsibility
to create a more perfect society through contributions to benefit not only the community as a whole,
but himself.
An individual is responsible for donating a portion of their wealth once they have become successful.
Each member of a community should reciprocate their success because without the members of their
community, the chances of them finding success would be negligible. It is true, the man who dies thus
rich, dies disgraced (Carnegie 363). To keep ones money when their is no use is labeled as selfish. The
wealthy man did not achieve his status alone. He acquired help from his community and should give
back to it. Sensibility is found in the idea that people should be able to keep the money they worked
hard to earn. Every person wants to be rewarded and those who find success believe they deserve
every penny. However, one can not pin his own greatness on himself. It is the support from family,
friends, and sometimes strangers which influences the triumph one might find. As

Rituximab Case Study
Various mechanisms for the action of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) have been identified:
 Complement directed cytotoxicity (CDC):
The mAbs bind to antigen on the cell surface and exposes their binding sites for proteins. These
proteins initiate the complement cascade and trigger the release of chemotactic factors and the
formation of the membrane attack complex, which promotes target cell lysis. Rituximab shows this
activity.
 ADCC mediated adaptive immunity:
MAbs bind to antigen on the tumour cell surface, providing the target for Fc receptors on the surface
of natural killer (NK) cells. Cross linking of receptors with mAbs triggers release of perforin and
granzymes from NK cell that lyse the tumour cell. Cell debris is taken up by antigen presenting ...

The drugs targeting on immune checkpoint have demonstrated higher response rates and prolonged
overall survival in cancer patients, as suggested by clinical cases.
PD 1 is a checkpoint protein on immune cells called T cells. It normally acts as a type of off switch
that helps keep the T cells from attacking other cells in the body. It does this when it attaches to PD
L1, a protein on some normal (and cancer) cells. When PD 1 binds to PD L1, it basically tells the T
cell to leave the other cell alone. Some cancer cells have large amounts of PD L1, which helps them
evade immune attack. CTLA 4 is another protein on some T cells that acts as a type of off switch to
keep the immune system in check. These two proteins are major target for anti tumour mAbs under
development.
Pembrolizumab: approved by EU and US in 2015 and 2014. Gives treat on melanoma. It targets on
programmed cell death 1 receptor (PD 1). PD 1 receptor protein down regulate the immune system by
preventing activation of T cells. Pembrolizumab blocks the inhibitory ligand of PD 1, reduce the PD 1
function and therefore activates more T cells. Research suggested that cytotoxic T cells are more
susceptible to be inhibited by PD 1, hence TC become more activated when Pembrolizumab is

The United States Is The Biggest Cosmetics Industry
Research from Statistica reveals that the United States is the biggest cosmetics industry in the world,
with an estimated total revenue of about $56.63 billion in 2013. Men and women alike spend money
in a desperate attempt to achieve the unattainable beauty that our society has forced us to want. Some
individuals believe that in order to be beautiful, they must cover their face with makeup, or they may
even spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on different cosmetic surgeries. Whether the attempt
be big or small, individuals in our society are going to extreme lengths in order to feel beautiful,
which quite frankly, is unnecessary. Today s society has ingrained in the minds of young men and

The Impact Of Fiscal And Monetary Policy On Business...
Introduction
The environment is defined as the sum total of all surroundings of a living organism, including natural
forces and other living things, which provide conditions for development and growth as well as of
danger and damage.(Business dictionary,2014) This means that every business always meets dangers
and damage in a different environment, especially, in an unstable environment. For example,
Malaysian Airlines have endured financial problems by an aircraft crash, which result in Malaysian
Airplane losing 10 million dollars for paying compensation to victim families. This incident
demonstrates the environment has always changed , sometimes it could be a good opportunities to
develop the businesses or great disasters to damage it. This essay will discusses the changing factors
of business environments in detail , following by the sections:how economic systems attempt to
allocate resources effectively, the impact of fiscal and monetary policy on business organisations and
their activities, the impact of fiscal and monetary policy on business organisations and their activities.
2.1 Explain how economic systems attempt to allocate resources effectively
The principles of economy indicates the essential of economic problems:
Economic is the study of how society manages its scare resources. In most society, resource are

The filing will be done with the IRS in the state which the business is formed. Articles of
Incorporation would be filed with the state, and the owners would apply for a federal ID number. They
would then file form 8832 and choose S corporation status. The company would then file as Company

They will have the pass through of income, avoiding double taxation, same as if the LLC was treated

Therefore, the business entity can pay wages and salaries to the owners. As it is treated as an S
corporation may provide opportunities for tax planning to minimize the overall tax liability the
business and would allow the business to take certain fringe benefits, too.
Tax Laws: An LLC can elect under the check the box rules to be classified as a corporation. So it
transfers all assets and liabilities to the corporation in exchange for the corporation s stock and then

November 15, 2013
TO: Sarah McDougal, Manager of Disbursements at Ramsville

SUBJECT: Process Improvements for Ramsville
______________________________________________________________________________
Team 5 will be analyzing and providing recommendations on how to improve the issue of overdue
payments to suppliers at Ramsville. After walking the process, creating a current value stream
analyzing data, Team 5 has suggestions on how to increase efficiency by eliminating muda that will
improve customer satisfaction and supplier relationships.
ANALYSIS
Team 5 identified the key issues by creating a Current Value Stream Mapping (Table 1, Page 3).

The next recommendation Team 5 has is to increase the processing time at the PFR Check to 600
seconds. Team 5 believes this will increase the accuracy of invoice checking because an additional
four minutes will be dedicated to the task and employees will have more time allotted to double check
the accuracy of the invoices being passed to the next activity. This will assure the practice of quality at
the source is being used so that incorrect information is not being passed onto subsequent processes.
Another recommendation is to eliminate the batch process so that payments can get to the suppliers at
a faster rate and decrease the number of supplier complaints, summarized on Table 7 (Page 7). This
will eliminate the muda of the extra time needed to un batch the invoices so that information can be
relayed to suppliers quicker.
Team 5 also recommends implementing an automated process system that automatically scans and
enters invoices into the payment processing software. With the implementation of this software, Pay
Later Invoices and Pay Now Invoices can be eliminated from the process. Additionally, Team 5
suggests moving the two employees from Pay Now and Pay Later Invoices to the Final Check activity.
This will eliminate the bottleneck of over utilization at the Final Check because the number of
employees increases to three. Although the utilization decreases by over 30%, it leaves room for
variability and decreases the stress put

Shema Yisrael Summary
At the beginning of the movement, the mezzo soprano soloist sings the text from the Shema Yisrael,
an ancient prayer from Deuteronomy Chapter 6. The Shema Yisrael is considered by many to be the
most essential prayer of all of Judaism, and is an affirmation of God s singularity and kingship. It is
not only recited daily by traditional observing Jews, but also, according to the My Jewish Learning
website at the climactic moment of the final prayer of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement and
considered the holiest day of the year, and traditionally as the last words before death.
The words for the beginning portion of the prayer that Ešenvalds uses for the pieces are as follows;
Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad. The translation is, Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God,
the Lord is One. To hear how the Shema Yisrael might be sung at Jewish religious gathering, click

Basically, Ešenvalds employs every tone between E and B. I think the employment of this dissonance,
especially with the interval of a major or minor second, is Ešenvalds building upon the theme of
consonant and dissonant intervals to describe a world in conflict. I believe Jesus, in the words
paradise, may be using a slightly dissonant chord because he acknowledges the present suffering, the
pain he and the other thieves are experiencing on the cross.. However, the glimmer in the chord that
the second gives, a technique often used by composers such as Lauridsen, harkens to a beauty and
light in heaven. Also, Em/B with added second and fourth Jesus is not ignoring the suffering that is
currently taking place, but there is beauty and comfort to the

Character Analysis Of Mr. Incredible
However, Mr. Frederickson ignores Russell to continue on trying to navigate it without him. The
purpose behind that is to show some sense of strength, as an old man he won t exhibit super strength
or any sort of power like Mr. Incredible, but instead he exhibits the old saying that with age comes
wisdom; within that scene that is exactly what strength he is showing. Mr. Frederickson wants to show
that he is strong and capable enough to get there without help. However, as the movie progresses his
vulnerability becomes more visible. The want to show strength and to appear strong comes from the
emasculation of the characters. Mr. Incredible was this well known superhero that went around saving
the city from robbers, criminals, and other events. However the city soon retired him for the amount of
damage he caused, leading to him having to obtain a real job and provide for a family. His series of
events are Mr. Incredible s emasculation. On the other hand is Mr. Frederickson, he however was
never a superhero or anything of extravagance. Instead, he was the man in charge of the balloon cart at
a zoo. While he wasn t very exciting in the first place, he had had dreams of being able to retire with
his wife at Paradise Falls. Mr. Frederickson s retirement with his wife never happens sadly. In fact he
wasn t truly ever able to retire. The failure to achieve his dream of retirement at Paradise Falls is the
emasculation of Mr. Frederickson. The failure/emasculation is also the reason

Essay on Colonists Living Among Natives in the New World
Colonists Living Among Natives in the New World
When the Europeans invaded the New World in 1492 they brought along their culture and way of life.
The Europeans were not prepared to encounter a previously developed culture, which was home to the
Indians. The negative stereotype of the Indians as viscous savages and barbarians was immediately
formed by the Europeans beginning as early as Christopher Columbus discovery of the New World.
These negative stereotypes made Europeans believe that Indians were hardly human and believed that
no civilized person would choose to become an Indian (Axtell, Invasion 302). When in fact the
opposite became true. Despite the European view of Indians as savages, there were many English and
French ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another European group that experienced the Indian way of life was the French fur traders. They took
hundreds of young men into the pays d en haut for months, even years at a time (Axtell, Invasion
303). In order for them to be successful trading partners with the Indians, the fur traders adopted many
aspects of native culture (303). To learn about the Indian culture, the fur traders wore Indian clothing
such as, breechclouts, leggings, and moccasins. They learned to speak local dialects, eat native food,
follow council protocol, and forged alliances with headmen (Axtell, European 277). These adaptations
of the fur traders helped them to be accepted into the Indian culture.
The majority of people who joined the Indian way of life were the English and French colonists who
were captured by the Indians. Most of the colonists were captured for adoption into the Indian
families, as opposed to the expected sale, ransom, torture or enslavement (Axtell, Invasion 304). One
of the most interesting facts that does not support the idea of Indians as barbarians, is that most
Indians chose their captives very carefully in order to cultivate them into Indian life. The Indians often
kept their captive who they adopted, within the family and raised them as a member of the family,
turning them into a white Indian .
Although at first the Indians took many of the colonists against their will as

Cognitive And Socio Emotional Behavior Within The Classroom
An anticipation of uncertainty permeates the atmosphere as teachers evaluate their incoming student s
roosters. For the past four months, a physical metamorphosis has been occurring within the adolescent
body which may transpire by leaps and bound for some teens while for others the hypothalamus
slowly begins the journey out of hibernation. How will the physical development of these adolescents
alter the cognitive and socio emotional behavior within the classroom or their relationship with their
peers? By examining secular trends, the biological change known as puberty, the effect of early or
later timing of puberty, and the effect of technology as they relate to the physical development of
adolescents, educators can better understand their present student population engulfed in a cloud of
adolescent change. The phenomena of secular trends encompass increase body composition of
adolescents, reduction in the age of menarche, and the age adolescents reach biological maturity over
time (Malina, 2004, p. 3). Better nutrition, availability of heath care, prevention of infectious diseases,
increased socioeconomic factors, and genetics all contribute to many of these changing characterizes.
Typically puberty has been associated with middle school students, however the secular trend in
adolescent development has altered the terrain of the developing adolescent resulting in accelerated

Hierarchical Issues From The Contextual Investigation Of...
Hierarchical issues are assorted and they can show themselves inside the association in a way that
might be hard to identify. These issues if not identified before, can keep the association from
accomplishing its set objectives and goal. More or less authoritative issues are hierarchical issues that
can obstruct the smooth operation of the association. They go from worker business related issues to
hierarchical auxiliary related issues (Lorenzi and Riley, 2003). As a rule the hidden reason for these
issues inside the association is absence of open stream of data or notwithstanding utilizing incorrectly
hierarchical structure. From the contextual investigation of Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant, there are a
few authoritative issues that are clear and have come about into hierarchical clash. These issues
present themselves nearly in all associations. It is accordingly imperative for the administration of any
association to guarantee they have viable procedures to manage any issue that may emerge inside the
association since inability to address such issues may result to significantly more issues inside the
association. The absolute most regular authoritative issues that present themselves practically in all
associations include:
 Motivational issues
 Leadership issues
 Communication issues
 Management issues
 Misunderstood mission
 Lack of authoritative agreement
 Lack of group union
 Lack of assets
 Misunderstood procedure

The Differences Between China And Western Europe
Imagine living in America and it not being well America. There would be different ways of
agriculture. Different languages. Different religious beliefs. Having a different way of living in
society, economically and politically. Everything would be different if China would have went about
and conquered Western Europe during the 14 1500 s.
There are many things in history that can mark the milestone differences between China and Western
Europe. No one really knows when Chinese culture really began, however Chinese civilization began
near the Yellow River (Huang He) becoming North China, and Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) indicating
South China. The first Dynasty, the Xia (Hsia) Dynasty began in about 2070 or 2205 BCE. Historians
have found proof of the wheel first being used in China during this time showing urban culture did
exist. The Shang Dynasty followed introducing the first Chinese Government. A lot of the basic
Chinese culture was introduced during the Zhou (Chou) Dynasty such as the Mandate of Heaven.
China contains a lot of history throughout the years. There were battles between the states, many new
emperors and leaders, as well as new technologies. All of which brought three great Chinese
philosophies; Daoism, Confucianism, and Legalism. It wasn t until about 581 CE that China was
reunifies under the leader, Sui Wendi. Wendi linked North and South China together by the Grand

Parable Of The Sower By Octavia E. Butler
Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler can be categorized as an environmental novel, a utopian
tale within dystopian tale and hero s journey. A utopian novel is defined as a fiction where readers find
characteristics that they would like to implement in society. This is a novel about a young woman
named Lauren along with others who finds herself in a prisoned like world. They find themselves in a
society where everything is controlled and offers them no possibility of ever living a normal life.
There are no jobs for the young, broken marriages and homes, poor economy and worst yet, constant
fear as thieves and drug addicts rule their lives outside the walls. In this novel we meet a brave young
woman who embarks on the journey to freedom and exhibits the quality as a female leader and also

Texas v. Johnson (No. 88 155). Argued: March 21, 1989. Decided: June 21, 1989 In 1984 the
Republican National Convention was held in Dallas, Texas. While there, a group of protesters,

The act for which appellant was convicted was clearly speech contemplated by the First Amendment.
The court also stated that, Recognizing that the right to differ is the centerpiece of our First
Amendment freedoms, the court explained, a government cannot mandate by fiat a feeling of unity in
its citizens. Therefore, that very same government cannot carve out a symbol of unity and prescribe a
set of approved messages to be associated with that symbol when it cannot mandate the status or
feeling the symbol purports to represent. The Supreme Court found that the state s first interest of
preserving the flag as a symbol of national unity was not made. The state had not shown that the flag
was in danger of being stripped of its symbolic value, the Texas court also decided that flag s special
status was not endangered by Johnson s actions. The court also concluded that that the flag desecration
statute was not drawn narrowly enough to encompass only those flag burnings that were likely to
result in a serious disturbance of the peace. The flag burning in this particular case did not threaten
such a reaction. There were only a few witnesses to the act that stated that they were upset with the
action but were not harmed in any way. There was no breach of peace nor does the record reflect that
the situation was potentially explosive. Just because someone was

Comparing Operant Conditioning And Observational Learning
Classical conditioning, Operant conditioning and Observational learning
Classical conditioning, Operant conditioning, and Observational learning are how we learn. This can
be from the time we are born up until we die. We are always learning in some form or another. These
different types of learning have unconsciously been embedded into our minds. Whether it be from
observing how not to start a fire or learning that Mom brings us food, we learn in many different
ways. Classical conditioning happens when ... learning takes place when an association is formed
between a previously neutral stimulus and a naturally occurring stimulus. (Cherry)This means that an
image can be associated with something good. If a baby is shown a picture of their mom, they are

Observational learning relies on what is seen and observed. If a child observes their older sister hitting
a different sibling, the child is likely to hit also. If a child hears their mom swearing, they are likely to
choose to pick up on that four letter word. Observation is one of the more key ways that we learn
anything. It would be difficult to learn anything without being able to observe. After seeing my sister
leave the burner on, I learned to not do so or else I could cause a fire. Without the powers of
observation, many things would never be learned. Classical conditioning, Operant conditioning, and
Observational learning are all examples of learning. Animals and humans alike learn these different
ways. From the time we are born to the day we die we ll always be learning in one of these ways. The
different ways of learning define us as individuals. Depending on which type of learning a person
focused on and learned, people are created to be their own individual. These types of learning are

The Pros And Cons Of Gnosticism
The Gnostic view is one of the issues that have been debated among Christian and nonchristian
scholars. This is because a different school of thought has risen in the past concerning Gnostic
teachings and the negative effects it poses to the gospel truth.
Many who oppose gnostic teachings tend to tag them as heretic movement while gnostic teachers
believe that their teaching is base on cosmetic facts.
There are many scholars in the past that have oppose gnostic views because they see it as an obstacle
in preaching the gospel. One of the early scholars that oppose gnostic ideas is Ireanus. He believes that
despite the writings of the early Church Fathers, most of whom were fanatics with an axe to grind
theology see gnostic belief as an enemy of the true gospel. Ireanus used the term herectic which was
not universally used by early church fathers. This is because gnostics themselves were comprised of
diverse groups which did not have a uniform set of beliefs because of their diversity. Because of their
diversity and lack of having a define theory on some of their views, one is posed with the difficult task
of identifying the main aim of the movement.
Furthermore, the research intends to discuss or define the term Gnosticism, it will also look at its
origin and how it relates to Christianity.

Rhetoric Of Unity Speech
The rhetoric of unity, is often used in order create a feeling of nationalism and community, as well as
to dissolve divisions between peoples. Unity speeches are often employed in times of division and
trouble, whether it be racial tension, or prospected war, there is an issue in which unification often
leads to resolution. Authors work to unite people under a commonality, often times such
commonalities are conveyed through the use of allusion. God, and other Biblical allusions lay at the
core of allusions that aim to unite. A long ranging importance on religion expanded across Europe and

Both speeches empower and encourage the audience, while igniting hope and strength. In order for
these emotions of power and fight to occur, the rhetoric of such speeches must appeal to the ear, and
have a flow that will allow for the maximum amount of emotion and power to be conveyed. Without
order and flow, the fiery emotion will be lost in the choppy, unorganized prose. A rhythmic strategy
used in each of these speeches is anaphora. Thomas Jefferson s first inaugural address swiftly
incorporated anaphora, We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all
republicans: we are all federalists , in the repetition of we in order to acquire an appealing rhythm of
sentence flow, and to establish a significance of the empowering word we . Such use of anaphora
allows the audience to get behind what Jefferson is saying and respond to his statements with more
enthusiasm and acceptance. In a nifying speech, anaphora is used to elaborate and extend the strong
assertions made to bring people together, as seen in Martin Luther King Jr. s I have a Dream in which
King begins eight consecutive sentence with I have a dream . This reinstitution of his statement
contributes to the structure of organized, repetitive thought. As a result, King leaves his audience

Ancient Greek And Roman Empires Essay
Most of the history of the past that is known today has been gathered from primary sources of the
times of interest such as original documents and objects. It is through these sources that historians are
able to gain an in depth, and maybe sometimes biased, view into the lives of the people of the time
and what was going on in the period. Despite being two vastly different genres of primary sources,
Cicero s letters and Homer s epic poem The Odyssey, give some of the best ideas into life for the
ancient Greek and Roman empires. Through analysis of these two works, some key similarities and
differences of how both empires functioned are brought to light. During Odysseus s travels and Cicero
s exile, both dreamt of nothing but being able to return home to the place they belonged. Calypso, who
had been keeping Odysseus on her island for several years, in an attempt to get him to stay with her
even tries to tempt Odysseus with immortality and warns him of the troubles he will have attempting
to return and upon arriving (Odyssey 72 73). Despite this temptation and the warning, Odysseus says:
My thought full Penelopeia, beside you, is not so tall or striking to look at. The lady will die; you are
undying and ageless. Even so I go on longing all of my days here to sail back home, to see that
homecoming light. (Odyssey 73)

Healthcare Reform And Health Care Reform
As evidenced by the constant battle over health care reform, healthcare in the United States has
become a growing problem that must be addressed. While the main controversy seems to be the
politics of healthcare reform and whether the government should have total control, the one thing that
I believe should be the focus, is the quality of care that is embedded in the patient doctor relationship.
It s quite troublesome when large health insurance companies are swaying politicians to vote for less
health care regulation and higher premiums rather than focusing on the quality of care and the
importance of the patient doctor relationship, which has become overshadowed. That is why I believe
it is important to look at and consider how health care reform such as the PPACA and policies
implemented by private insurance companies have affected the doctor patient relationship and thereby
influenced the quality of medical care. One of the many reasons that I find this an interesting and
important topic is because I aspire to work in the medical field and the interaction between patients
and doctors is important for me to consider and determine how it has changed, whether it be for better
or worse, throughout the years as a result of added regulations and new reforms.
A pivotal aspect of receiving quality medical care is being able to communicate your health concerns
and have confidence and trust in your doctor, which is essentially the doctor patient relationship. Yet,

Summary Of The Beginning Of Nervous Conditions

At the beginning of Nervous Conditions, Tambu sees education as a pathway to financial success,
based on the example set by Babamukuru. She describes her uncle s offer to pay for Nhamo s
education as oceanic, since it would lift our branch of the family out of the squalor in which we were
living. Babamukuru believes that education is the route to alleviate dependency. Meanwhile, his own
wife, Maiguru, has a masters degree that she has never used. Tambu is desperate to be educated, as it
will be her ticket out of poverty. When she arrives at the convent school, though, it becomes clear that
her colonial education will continue to subjugate her because she is an African. To the white children,
education is a right, and the Africans are taught to see it as a privilege. Looking back, Tambu
recognizes that this system enforces a colonial power structure but at the time, it seemed a great
opportunity and certainly does allow her to build a life outside of her family s poverty.
Short for Tambudzai, she is the teenage protagonist of the novel. Tambu is extremely driven to be
educated, even though her parents are more focused on her brother s advancement simply because he
is male. When Nhamo dies, Tambu gets the opportunity to move to the mission to study. She develops
a deep connection with her cousin, Nyasha, and together, the two girls navigate adolescence in
postcolonial Zimbabwe.

Consider The Lobster By David Foster Wallace Analysis American Novelist, essayist and short story author David Foster Wallace uses his essay Consider the Lobster to tell the reader about his thought provoking visit to the Maine Lobster Festival. Wallace wrote this essay to show his thought process dealing with the moral ambiguity of cooking lobster, and the research he did to further understand the subject. He primarily uses an informational tone with a heavy emphasis on pathos. He does a fairly good job remaining unbiased and showing the counterarguments. Wallace was sent to the Maine Lobster Festival by Gourmet Magazine, he was tasked simply to write about his experience there. He took this as an opportunity and decided that the risk he was taking in posing this question to the readers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following this point he points out that perhaps lobsters understand pain but they don t dislike it and how pain is not distressing them (Wallace 63). He reinstates the fact that there is a clear difference in pain as a purely neurological event from pain as actual suffering , the latter requiring an emotional component (Wallace 36). In his closing statements he takes the time to throw some more thought provoking sentences in, calling out a part of being a real gourmet (Wallace 64). Wallace wonders if future generations might look back and see our current eating practices similarly to how we see tribal sacrifices today. I see this as an extreme analogy but it has its use in this essay, it brings out the thought that perhaps we should take a step back from our food and think about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Families were split apart and never seen again, men worked hard labor in the camps, mothers lost their children from deaths or just taking away. You were probably wondering what they did at the death camps and what happened in the camps? There were six major death camps, Aishwitz, Birkenav, Chelmna, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Warsaw. Jews weren t the only victims in the camps, there were also Gypsy people, and enemies. Only 7,650 jews survived when the camps closed, and hundreds of millions died a day. The ultimate goal of a community is create a Utopian society. A society in which everyone is equal in success. Similar to a classroom setting, a community consists of individuals who yearn to make a difference or have a desire for success. In a community, individuals want power, whether in monetary or in social ways. Each member of a community has a responsibility to create a more perfect society through contributions to benefit not only the community as a whole, but himself. An individual is responsible for donating a portion of their wealth once they have become successful. Each member of a community should reciprocate their success because without the members of their community, the chances of them finding success would be negligible. It is true, the man who dies thus rich, dies disgraced (Carnegie 363). To keep ones money when their is no use is labeled as selfish. The wealthy man did not achieve his status alone. He acquired help from his community and should give back to it. Sensibility is found in the idea that people should be able to keep the money they worked hard to earn. Every person wants to be rewarded and those who find success believe they deserve every penny. However, one can not pin his own greatness on himself. Rituximab shows this activity.  ADCC mediated adaptive immunity: MAbs bind to antigen on the tumour cell surface, providing the target for Fc receptors on the surface of natural killer (NK) cells. The drugs targeting on immune checkpoint have demonstrated higher response rates and prolonged overall survival in cancer patients, as suggested by clinical cases. PD 1 is a checkpoint protein on immune cells called T cells. It normally acts as a type of off switch that helps keep the T cells from attacking other cells in the body. It does this when it attaches to PD L1, a protein on some normal (and cancer) cells. When PD 1 binds to PD L1, it basically tells the T cell to leave the other cell alone. Some cancer cells have large amounts of PD L1, which helps them evade immune attack. CTLA 4 is another protein on some T cells that acts as a type of off switch to keep the immune system in check. These two proteins are major target for anti tumour mAbs under development. Pembrolizumab: approved by EU and US in 2015 and 2014. Gives treat on melanoma. Mr. Frederickson wants to show that he is strong and capable enough to get there without help. However, as the movie progresses his vulnerability becomes more visible. The want to show strength and to appear strong comes from the emasculation of the characters. Mr. Incredible was this well known superhero that went around saving the city from robbers, criminals, and other events. However the city soon retired him for the amount of damage he caused, leading to him having to obtain a real job and provide for a family. His series of events are Mr. Incredible s emasculation. The negative stereotype of the Indians as viscous savages and barbarians was immediately formed by the Europeans beginning as early as Christopher Columbus discovery of the New World. They took hundreds of young men into the pays d en haut for months, even years at a time (Axtell, Invasion 303). To learn about the Indian culture, the fur traders wore Indian clothing such as, breechclouts, leggings, and moccasins. They learned to speak local dialects, eat native food, follow council protocol, and forged alliances with headmen (Axtell, European 277). These adaptations of the fur traders helped them to be accepted into the Indian culture. The majority of people who joined the Indian way of life were the English and French colonists who were captured by the Indians. Most of the colonists were captured for adoption into the Indian families, as opposed to the expected sale, ransom, torture or enslavement (Axtell, Invasion 304). One of the most interesting facts that does not support the idea of Indians as barbarians, is that most Indians chose their captives very carefully in order to cultivate them into Indian life. The Supreme Court found that the state s first interest of preserving the flag as a symbol of national unity was not made. The state had not shown that the flag was in danger of being stripped of its symbolic value, the Texas court also decided that flag s special status was not endangered by Johnson s actions. The court also concluded that that the flag desecration statute was not drawn narrowly enough to encompass only those flag burnings that were likely to result in a serious disturbance of the peace. The flag burning in this particular case did not threaten such a reaction. There were only a few witnesses to the act that stated that they were upset with the action but were not harmed in any way. Without order and flow, the fiery emotion will be lost in the choppy, unorganized prose. A rhythmic strategy used in each of these speeches is anaphora. Thomas Jefferson s first inaugural address swiftly incorporated anaphora, We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all republicans: we are all federalists , in the repetition of we in order to acquire an appealing rhythm of sentence flow, and to establish a significance of the empowering word we . It is through these sources that historians are able to gain an in depth, and maybe sometimes biased, view into the lives of the people of the time and what was going on in the period. Despite being two vastly different genres of primary sources, Cicero s letters and Homer s epic poem The Odyssey, give some of the best ideas into life for the ancient Greek and Roman empires. Through analysis of these two works, some key similarities and differences of how both empires functioned are brought to light. During Odysseus s travels and Cicero s exile, both dreamt of nothing but being able to return home to the place they belonged. Calypso, who had been keeping Odysseus on her island for several years, in an attempt to get him to stay with her even tries to tempt Odysseus with immortality and warns him of the troubles he will have attempting to return and upon arriving (Odyssey 72 73). Despite this temptation and the warning, Odysseus says: My thought full Penelopeia, beside you, is not so tall or striking to look at. The lady will die; you are undying and ageless. While the main controversy seems to be the politics of healthcare reform and whether the government should have total control, the one thing that I believe should be the focus, is the quality of care that is embedded in the patient doctor relationship. It s quite troublesome when large health insurance companies are swaying politicians to vote for less health care regulation and higher premiums rather than focusing on the quality of care and the importance of the patient doctor relationship, which has become overshadowed. That is why I believe it is important to look at and consider how health care reform such as the PPACA and policies implemented by private insurance companies have affected the doctor patient relationship and thereby influenced the quality of medical care. One of the many reasons that I find this an interesting and important topic is because I aspire to work in the medical field and the interaction between patients and doctors is important for me to consider and determine how it has changed, whether it be for better or worse, throughout the years as a result of added regulations and new reforms.
