Wendat Attributes In The Orenda
The blame game, described as someone assigning blame to others rather than finding a solution.
This game is a great way to try and fault others for one s own mistakes. In the book, The Orenda
written by Joseph Boyden, it is described how the aboriginal people of the Wendat became
extirpated by their enemies because of their own inadequacies. Throughout the course of the book,
the Wendat make awful decisions and because of such decisions the wendat nation becomes
extinct. The Wendat are prideful and some refuse to seek help even in the most desperate of times.
The Wendat choose to ignore the dreams of their people and the prophecies. The Wendat are also
extremely greedy, their greed gives a demand in which one cannot maintain whilst their nation...

Fox says, I d rather die naked and freezing than come here for protection (Boyden, pg 354) which
shows that Fox would rather die with absolutely nothing then live with the crows, their allies. In
what world does one not ask or accept help from their allies? Obviously in a proud and arrogant
one. After the Wendat had been decimated by the smallpox outbreak, they kept to themselves
even more than before. Another example of how the Wendat s pride causes issues is when Bird
is negotiating peace with the Iroquois he loses the Wampum. Instead of asking for forgiveness,
he decides to go into battle. Bird states, our story meant for these people who are our enemy, has
been lost...I now know that the course we are on...is a course of warfare. (Boyden, page 108)
Bird does not even consider reasoning with them or holding negotiations. The Wendat pride has
caused its people many issues and ultimately their own unfortunate demise. Though the Wendat
were not solely responsible for their extirpation, they played a large part of what happened to
them because of how they were arrogant and chose to disrespect those who wished to help them.
Another factor that led to the demise of the Wendat people is because they chose to ignore the
pleas of their people and the prophetic dreams that warned them. They also became entranced by
the wealth the Europeans had to offer, so much so that they began to shape their way of life around
it. With all the problems the Wendat faced, it is a miracle that there are even any population

20 Time Project Research Paper
For my 20 time project, I decided to learn about humane societies and the animals in them. I chose
this project because I enjoy interacting with animals and I liked the idea of helping the
community. I also wanted to help all of the animals around the world that are struggling by
spreading awareness for people to help these animals in need. I was hoping to learn the specifics
about how long animals stay at the humane society, how they make it into the humane society, the
adoption process, and several other things about the animals. I answered these questions through the
internet and an interview that I completed with our local humane society. The interview that I did
helped me the most in my research, as it answered each of the specific questions... Show more

I say this because one humane society would do a home inspection and be very precise about the
animals living conditions, while another wouldn t even do a home inspection. I was also surprised
while doing my research how many different types of animals the humane societies could decide to
take in. While looking at the humane society of the united states, there were almost sixty different
species that the humane societies could/may care for. This just blew my mind because I thought
that most only took in dogs, cats, and a few different farm animals (like horses). This just showed
me how willing these employees are to care for so many different types of

British Petroleum (Bp) Case Study Essay
British Petroleum (BP) Case Study
Executive Summary
This case study report examined a public relation management problem that British Petroleum (BP)
faced since the oil spill accident happened in April, 2010. In addition, this thesis recommended
possible solutions and implementation plans for BP to deal with the public crisis.
On April 20, the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico led to the
largest accidental release of oil into marine waters in history. As a result, a huge loss of money
and life was caused and affected serious environmental damage to wild animals and water pollution.
BP was accused of their irresponsibility that it took 87 days before the well was closed and sealed.
BP s shares ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As of 31 December 2010, BP had spent $17.7 billion for their response activities.
As of March 28, there were still 217 vessels and 2,349 personnel working on cleaning up the
spill. 3,474 kilometres of containment and absorbent boom were deployed against the spreading
oil slick on August 2nd. 411 in situ burns conducted (which burned 265,450 barrels of oil) and 1.4
million barrels of liquid waste collected.
1.2. Problem of statement
The oil spill undermines the reputation and market position of British Petroleum, thus its stock
prices decline dramatically. Even though BP took measures for resolving these problems, its way
was not beneficial enough and therefore, it still requires more advantageous resolutions.
1.3. Statement of Objectives
The objectives of this study were to: 1. Figure out problems that BP faced after the disaster 2.
Analyze companies position at the oil market 3. Overview the main resent futures of oil industry 4.
Evaluate BP s masseurs 5. Suggest applicable ways to cope with obstacles 6. Build implementation
plans for BP to put into action
1.4. Methodology

Two Point Discrimination Test Essay
In this lab we apply the technique known as a two point discrimination test. This test will allow
us to determine which regions of the skin are best able to discriminate between two
simultaneous sensory impulses. According to (Haggard et al. 2007), tactile discrimination
depends on the size of the receptive fields located on the somatosensory neurons. However
receptive fields for other types of sensations are located elsewhere. For vision we find that the
receptive fields are located inside the visual cortex, and for hearing we find receptive fields in the
auditory cortex. The ability for the body to discriminate two points depends on how well that area
of the body is innervated with neurons; and thus conferring to the size of the... Show more content

Similarly, value marked .25 on the discriminator was a single point. The first person to have the
test done was to sit on a bench, lift his sleeve, and close his eyes. We would then conduct this
experiment by utilizing a series of pressure points using several different values on the two point
discriminator. This was performed while the subject would report how many points he was
feeling in that particular area. We began with the finger, first starting with a single point on the
discriminator. We then randomly picked points and recorded the values on a table. Next we did
the two point discrimination test on the forearm. This part of the method was performed near
the elbow, and again we began with a single point on the two point discriminator. Lastly we
applied the moving discrimination test with a third subject and one trial. We performed this test
near the palm, and recorded the distance after which he felt a difference. Overall three subjects
were tested and a total of five trials were recorded, two for the finger, one for the palm and two
for the forearm. It is important to note that the subjects were allowed to have a break and take a
breather. This gave him a more comfortable feeling prior to being tested. Results were taken
immediately after performing the experiment. For subject 1, we began with the finger. In two out
of six pressure points applied to subject 1 (finger), he recorded an improper result. Those points

Oppression Of Gender Roles In Wonder Woman By Christian Stoic
Like I previously mentioned, the genre of action and adventure is so diverse, and there are so
many heroines and female characters, it is hard to argue that women in action roles strictly have a
negative impact on female viewers. Also, it would be completely inappropriate to argue that
women in lead action roles have no positive impacts on femaleviewers. As society continues to
advance, female heroines are also evolving and moving further away from the traditionally
hypersexualized characters. Instead, these heroines are easier for women to identify with, they are
extremely strong and independent female leads, and they are dressed more practically
/appropriately. A few examples of these new age action heroines include Jessica Jones, Alicia

I believe that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done when it comes to female heroines,
and I hope that in time (sooner rather than later) these women heroines will serve strictly to
empower and inspire women of all ages. One reason that these heroines are sexualized and
dumbed down more often than not might be due to the lack of equality in terms of male and
female directors. In an article written by Yohana Desta, it states that There are about 23.8 male
directors for every female director (Desta 2017), and also that Women were more likely to direct
dramas, and less likely to direct science fiction or action films which are, imperatively, often the
most successful and lucrative genres in the business (Desta 2017). Since these lead female roles
are written and created mainly by men and not women, they are more aimed at a male audience.
This is most likely why these women s bodies are focused on more than making these characters
into well rounded heroines that could serve to inspire women. I believe that in order to transition
from these heroines negatively impacting females, to these heroines serving to empower women,
there first needs to be an increase in the number of female directors in Hollywood. I also feel that
male directors should use women such as Jessica Jones or the

The Hunger Games Dystopian Society
A Dystopian society can be defined as an imperfect world, a place marked by class distinction,
poverty, turmoil, and dehumanization. There are two modern works that represent these ideas to
society , Divergent and The Hunger Games. Both novels portray a cataclysmic decline in society in
the way that these dystopian elements are present. The novels referenced above feature an
omnipotent authority in the form of Snow from The Hunger Games and Jeanine and Eric from
Divergent. The factions, Divergent, and capital, The Hunger Games, represent totalitarian
government, and oppression and cruelty elicited through the large wage gap cause mistrust among
its people. With this type of government, there are always the figureheads, a benevolent leader type
of public persona, which are almost always radically different from what actually happens outside
the eye of the public. President Snow and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The capital holds most of the country of Panem s wealth in the same way that a single political
party holds the country s power. The Games serve as a repressing tool to keep the tributes from
joining forces or revolting against the corrupt regime. These games of killing members of other
tributes cause adverse effects on the person that stem from contrasts between the capital s demands
for deindividuation, obedience, a chain of command, and dissociation. Similarly, totalitarian
regiments have been known to violate its people through torture, slave labor, and repression of
citizens. Torture and repression can be observed in the annual Hunger Games, in the way in which
young district members are taken away from their families by force to be trained into killing other
district members and slave labor being represented by the way that each district in the worst

Children Of The River Quotes
The hardest part of being an immigrant is the journey to their destination because of these reasons
which are leaving family behind and getting to their destination. Leaving family behind is hard
because most times immigrants will never see them again. Getting to their destination is hard to
because their are smugglers who swindle immigrants and leave them with no money and in the
hands of police. This piece of evidence shows how hard it is to get out of a country because
sometimes part of the immigrants familycould die. In my book Children of the River the main
character Sundra is trying to take care of her aunt s baby but is struggling with it and then when
she goes for milk the man tells her If the baby dies, throw it overboard right... Show more content

This was a better option than staying in Cambodia because than her whole family would have
been killed by the Communists. In this quote, getting out of the country was a challenge for
Sundra because she is sometimes blamed for the baby dying. Sundra s aunt was mad that
Sundra threw the baby overboard before giving it to the baby s mother Sundra s aunt. After,
Sundra s aunt blames her for the baby dying Sundra feels guilty about how she could of saved
the baby. Another reason why the biggest challenge for immigrants is the journey to America is
leaving family behind. This quote is from Shooting Kabul during this part of the story Fadi s
family is trying to get out of Kabul and he loses his sister in the crowd. This quote is when Fadi
is reflecting back on how he lost his sister. His six year old little sister had been lost because of
him. Similarly, this quote and the quote from Children of the River contrast because Fadi feels
guilty for losing his sister and Sundra feels guilty for losing her aunts baby. This is hard for Fadi
because he is reflecting back throughout the book about how he could of saved his sister in that
moment. Both of these pieces of evidence show how the journey to an immigrants destination is the

A Career As A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
A diagnostic medical sonographer utilizes unique imaging machinery to generate images and
perform exams. They use ultrasound technology to obtain pictures of tissues and body organs. The
career of sonography offers a wide range of specialties from obstetric and gynecologic to
neurosonography. Some of the duties of a sonographerinclude prepare the patients for the procedure
and examine the data recorded to give a detailed summary to the physician. Like any other
healthcare professional, ultrasoundtechnicians have responsibilities that are listed in the scope of
practice (U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2014). Medical sonographers scope
of practice indicates that all professionals in this field must be educationally prepared and must
have all the certifications and credentials from accredited schools. It also states that sonographers
are entrust agents of doctors and they can t practice independently. One of the responsibilities of a
sonographer is to evaluate patients information, like confirming their identification and assure that
the procedure that the patient will receive is the one that the physician indicated. Also they are
accountable for the performing of a suitable examination, applying the correct protocol, evaluating
and documenting the results of the ultrasound and deliver excellent quality of care to patients.

Effect Of The Witches In Macbeth
How do the witches affect the actions of Macbeth?
Macduff enters Holding Macbeth s Lifeless head. Hail King of Scotland! , Cheer the people.
How did it get to this? How did a soft hearted and honest noble like Macbeth get into this position?
The quick and easy answer is that it was the work of the three witches.
At the beginning of the play, the three witches gave Macbeth and Banquo prophecies; Macbeth will
be king, thane of Cawdor, and be thane of Glamis. They also said that Banquo s sons will be kings.
At first, Macbeth didn t think much about what the witches said until the first prophecy came true;
Macbeth was awarded Thane of Cawdor. After that Macbeth was sure that the witches were telling

One of the apparitions told Macbeth to be bold, violent and laugh at men because no man born
from women would kill Macbeth. Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn the power of man,
for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth (4.1.81 83). Another one told Macbeth that he wouldn
t be defeated until Birnam Wood comes to fight him at Dunsinane Hill Be lion mettled, proud, and
take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are. Macbeth shall never vanquish be until
Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill Shall come against him.
All these predictions made Macbeth very confident in himself. No man born from a woman
would kill him and for the woods of Great Birnam To come to Dunsinane Hill was almost
impossible, Or so he thought. He was motivated to be violent and bold in his actions. He killed
Macduff s wife and children and stayed to fight Macduff when Edward s army marched to
Dunsinane Hill with branches of Great Birnam. Since no man born of a woman could ever harm
him, Macbeth thought that he would be able to defeat Macduff. For example, when he killed
Young Siward Macbeth didn t even feel accomplished because he believed that he would never
lose a battle to a man and that he wouldn t be defeated until Birnam Wood moves to Dunsinane

War Of The Worlds Analysis
The War of the Worlds (1953) is science fiction, but shot in pseudo documentary style using real
military footage interlaced with the Martian invasion force that is destroying all the majors cites
around the world. The display of the uniquely, non saucer shapes of the strange Martian ships on
the rampage, alarming news broadcast, and images of panic stricken public fleeing for very lives,
only adds to the desperate battle for humanity on a global scale, and a sense of utter realism and
terror. Every shot is conveying a message and emotion, even at the end of the film, the doom laden
finale in a disintegrating church, all very efficiently handled by director Byron Haskin (Schneider
58), implies that all hope is lost, the end of the world is at hand, and hundreds seek refuge in
churches, praying for a miracle to save them, and as faith would have it, one comes.

only through a strong relationship with my customers that my own sales would grow. But after
taking my stand against an early dismissal from the race, I picked up my pace considerably. I
worked longer hours, getting to work long before anyone else did. I did more cold calling, enough

My dad attributed much of his success to this ritual. Now I followed his lead, doing the same thing

Unfortunately, none of this hard work coincided with any new orders. After the big sale from
Nick Mathus, I kept flooding my territory with more proposals, but not one came back with a yes
attached. For weeks, while I reveled in getting to know more about my customers than ever
before, the prospect of reaching my quota did not change much at all. Even with the Mathus order,
the dream of saving my job was still so very far away.
It was no wonder, then, that the feelings of remorse slowly crept into my head, arriving under
cover of night, and sprang upon me as I woke on the Monday morning that marked the start of
the final three weeks of the contest. Lying in bed, eyes fixed to the ceiling, I was frozen with
questions and doubts for which I suddenly had no answers. Why had I said no to my sales
manager s offer? Why had I turned down an offer to start finding another job while still being able
to draw a paycheck? What had I been thinking? Finding the inner strength to stick out the contest to
the end was certainly noble. But when I was out of work, answering help wanted ads and cutting

The Case Of The Exclusive Pink Color Essay
Risks and Impact Risks can vary depending on the specific item that is launched. In the case of the
exclusive pink color introduction of the toy medical kit, the risks associated with this launch will
be somewhat minimized, given the success of the existing green medical kit available to all
retailers. While the riskis minimized with the existing history of the item, the color itself has the
potential to limit the demographics. The medical kit is rated for an age range of three to six
years old. (Fisher Price, n.d.) While this item can be used by all children, pink is generally
viewed as a female specific color choice. Parents may still choose to purchase the green kit to
make it appealing to all children in the family. It may unintentionally limit the amount of people this
specific color would appeal to, thus creating a slower inventory turn. Fisher Price would run this
color in a batch productionbut any unsold inventory creates a liability. Additional risks can be in
the production itself. Toys are in a very regulated industry and any defects in production that are
not within the regulatory standards can be either recalled if they are already being sold to
consumers or cause the entire production run to be discarded or destroyed. Both instances are very
costly but taking the initiative to create a safe work environment that is compliant with all
regulations can mitigate that risk.

dimension in life. I am my best version out in nature therefore I have grew very fond of this
poem. I wandered lonely as a cloud is one of the most loved and influential poems of William
Wordsworth. It had been Inspired by Dorothoy s(his sister) diary extract which chronicles their
peaceful promenading along a river near Grasmere, where they encountered a colony of radiant
daffodils. The sight was so glorious which later on inspirited William to compile his recollection of
one of his most precious memories. The poem immediately establishes of a dream like state which
is apparent by the use of the similie I wandered lonely as a cloud . The noun cloud is a airy and free
flowing notion that has connotations of seclusion that gives an impression to the readers that he is
currently detached from the real world; unconcerned with its troubles. In addition, by the use of the
personal pronoun I gives greater emotion and depth to his language but simultaneously highlighting
the inherent unity between men and nature (that was a prominent theme in William s poems).

Trend Micro Case Analysis
In the last past years, Trend Micro experienced a huge economic growth, especially in Mexico s
region. But, before 2012 there was an impacting declination in growth, in 2012 it was expected a
growth of 41,4% in 2014. As can be seen in the fishbone diagram, one of the reasons was because
the companies they bought didn t have the economic effect they expected, and their products were
not efficient for Trend Micro. Moreover, solutions were obsolete and were only able to solve old
problems rather than new ones. This problem can also be applied on employees as they resisted to
the changes, which were a must for the company, and were only prepared to solve old problems

According to the SWOT analysis, the organization took advantage that security started to be a

although financially they were fine, there was no growth of the expected on a technological

ones considered them anymore and stop buying them. What is more, there were issues with moral
values, people started to quit because they didn t see a potential growth. If some competitors were
in decline, as can be seen in the SWOT analysis, there were new small competitors that found a
niche in the market with solutions that Trend Micro did not provide and started taking over their

Epistle To Cangrande By Dante Alighieri
Dante Alighieri was an Italian poet in the late Middle Ages; he developed a theory or method for
interpreting novels and poetry in his Epistle to Cangrande. The theory is referred to as Dante s
Theory. Readers can use the theory to gain a better understanding of any story. The theory has
four levels with the first being the literal or historical level. This level is what readers learn on the
surface of the story, information of real historical or geographical events. The second level contains
political insight. The political level displays how humans relate to others and how the connections
between members of a group, community, or society are affected. The third level shifts into the
moral or psychological aspect of novels; the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With humans constantly interacting, readers can acquire an understanding of how humans relate
to others and how an individual s community affects his or her actions. The Tortilla Curtain
acknowledges the way one group of people reacts to another group. Delaney wanted to be
accepting of the Mexican immigrants until he actually had to interacted with one in Candido; he
then fell back into the way his people felt about Candido s people. After examining the novel on a
political level readers learn that humans are greedy and protective; Delaney s community didn t
want to share anything with Candido s community. They built a wall to keep the immigrants out
of their community. They also demolished the labor exchange to stop immigrants from being able
to find work claiming it was an experiment that didn t work (Boyles 192). Ceremony exhibited the
political level of interpretation in the sense that Native Americans have a collective conscious and
white people simply don t understand it. Silko touches again on how one group interacts with
another group when Tayo is finding his place; he isn t fully accepted by Natives because he is half
white and he isn t accepted by whites because his is half Native. Emo s hatred for Tayo results
directly from the fact that Tayo is not fully Native, he s only half. Silko also demonstrated the way
white people mistreat the Native Americans and misunderstand the Native ceremonies and events.
Old Betonie explains that the Gallup Ceremonies, organized by the white people, are good for the
tourist business but they are for entertainment only (116). The white people simply don t
understand the point of the ceremonies so they use the ceremonies to their advantage. Readers can
begin to understand that each group in society thinks just a little differently than another group.
Understanding other communities or societies becomes

Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men
Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece
today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well.
It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are
just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the
topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different
prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words.
It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about
the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect
attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a
social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old
boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have
different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the
relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more
than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until
later when he starts speaking.
The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their
prejudices. Juror ten

Lord Of The Flies Comparison
Research Question
How do the similarities and differences between R.M. Ballantyne s The Coral Island and William
Golding s Lord of the Flies emphasize their differing opinions on the nature of evil?
Introduction
When I first read Lord of the Flies, in seventh grade, I terrified my mother when I came home
from school talking about the potential evil in all men s souls. Later that year, someone asked
me what my favorite book was and, without hesitation, I responded Lord of the Flies. The
shocked look on her face revealed that this was not the response she was expecting. Being only
eleven, I did not understand the full implications of what I was saying about evil, what my favorite
book might say about me, and why hearing those words from a child ... Show more content on

Using fear, as rumor of a monster s presence on the island becomes more and more real to the
boys, and promises of meat, Jack successfully manipulates a majority of the group to leave
Ralph. After Piggy s death, the rest of the littluns, that had been with Ralph, join Jack s group,
less out of fear of a beast and more out of fear of Jack. This isolation, the contempt Jack feels
towards Ralph, and the unnerving power that Jack holds over the rest of the boys culminates in the
final hunt, where Jack orders the boys to track down and kill Ralph. Such a moment does not occur
in The Coral Island. Throughout Ballantyne s novel, the boys remain friends and trusted
companions. When Ballantyne s Ralph is kidnapped by pirates, the boys mourn him, thinking
he has died. Ralph and Peterkin never question Jack s judgements or plans. Peterkin is always
included in conversations, despite his young age, and respected. When Ralph contemplates how
they managed to be so agreeable he comes to a conclusion: There was, indeed, no discord
whatever in the symphony we played together on that sweet Coral Island; and I am now
persuaded that this was owing to our having been all tuned to the same key namely, that of love!
Yes, we loved one another with much fervency while we lived on that island; and, for a matter of
that, we love each other still (Ballantyne 109). Fittingly, the final image of Ballantyne s boys is
of them travelling together towards England, their home. Jack and Ralph s relationship, from
Lord of the Flies, is more complex: They walked along, two continents of experience and feeling,
unable to communicate. [...] They looked at each other, baffled, in love and hate (Golding 58 59).
Jack and Ralph are too similar to get along, yet understand each other well enough to stay together
for a time. The final image of Golding s boys is of them breaking

In a person with normal blood pressure the use of Amyl Nitrite expands already normal functioning

Citizens still haven t went back because of how radioactive the their city is. It would be worse
with weapons because the particles in the air could travel causing more land to be radiated.
Nuclear weapons don t explode on impact, they detonate in the air hence, mushroom clouds are
created. The mushroom cloud is the radioactive particles from the bomb. The obvious answer to
fix nuclear weapons is to get rid of them all but we all know that is unlikely. The United States
wouldn t even bare the idea of getting rid of their nuclear capabilities. The United States may
have had 27,519 warheads in 1975, but today that s down to an estimated 4,480 (Szondy).
Neither are some other countries because they are a defense mechanism as well. Nuclear
weapons should detonate once upon hitting a surface. Not all radiation can penetrate walls this
concept would inflect less damage on the foundation of buildings, but the bomb will still be
effective. That would prevent the radioactive particles from being swept across nations or oceans.
(The Nuclear Weapons) A treaty was signed that prohibited the creation of defenses for nuclear
weapons due to an advantage they might have if a nuclear war was to start. The ABM Treaty,
signed in 1972, prohibits the use of defensive systems that might give an advantage to one side in a

Prejudice and racism have dependably tormented the human culture since time began. Being a
questionable and unthinkable subject, numerous individuals have endeavored to clarify and set up

The Importance Of Education
Why do students continue to enter a college education system that is no longer focusing on them?
The education system was built to serve the interest of the public, to provide opportunities for
people to further their education and move up or maintain their social classes, and to teach people
to think for themselves. All of the authors Menand, Roth, and Couturier all agree that educationis
threatened by the fact that colleges are focusing more on their private affairs instead of the students.
They believe collegeshould be focused on the student and their ability to think on their own and
enhance their capabilities (Roth 2). Rose Hulman does this well by challenging their students with
a hard curriculum, but at the same time they are willing to give them plenty of opportunities to find
success with smaller class sizes and a student friendly environment.
Michael Roth believes that people aremore than just human capital for society; he thinks that
everyone should be able to find significance in their lives and work (3). In his essay Learning as
Freedom, by he discusses why education should be more than just learning how to do a skill;
John Dewey said, it should be about enhancing our capabilities (2). He describes how everyone
has their role is society and that not everyone can be a leader, but Roth quotes Dewey saying, the
great thing for one as for the other is that each shall have had the education which enables him to
see within his daily work all there is in it

Women In A Tale Of Two Cities
A Tale of Two Cities Essay
Women in the 18th century were slowly beginning to gain more rights, but not enough to be
equal to men. They were sometimes disrespected, and many people still thought that women
were not able to have a job; they were just meant to run the household. Many advances were
made in this time period, such as having the availability of more education, and being able to
assist their husband in work outside of home. But there were still many things women did not
have say in, such as marriage laws. In Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, women play a
major role in the story, and show just how capable a woman can be, even without the respect that
they rightfully deserve.
Miss Pross portrays that a woman can be just as brave as a man, and make sacrifices for those who
she cares about. At the end of the book, Miss Pross faces Madame Defarge alone, and is willing to
sacrifice herself for Lucie. Her love and loyalty to Lucie shows when she is with Defarge. She

Zachary Miller Case Study
Despite Zach Miller becoming a favorite target for Cutler last season, Chicago has a lot of
answered questions remaining at the tight end position. As this week s minicamp practices come to
an end, the bears have added Tony Moeaki to their 90 man roster.
Moeaki was simply using the minicamp as an effort to try out and be noticed by someone on the
Bears coaching staff. With the bears wanting to add strength to the position, giving Moeaki the last
spot on the 90 man roster appeared to be a wise decision.
After being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft, Chicago will be
the 5th team that Moeaki has been a part of. His most productive season to this point in his
career has been his rookie season when he accumulated 556 yards on 47 receptions. He also was

Life, Death, and the Political
issues surrounding Abortion
Few issues have embodied such controversy as abortion has. The various people involved in the
abortion debate not only have strong beliefs, but each group has a self appeal that clearly reflects
what they believe to be the essential issues. The abortion supporters see individual choice as
central to the debate: If a woman cannot choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, a condition
which affects her body and possibly her entire life, then she has lost one of her most basic human
rights. These issues of abortion believe that while a fetus is a potential life, its life cannot be placed

beyond stereotypes. Whenever an individual or group realizes it has been treated unjustly, the
first reaction is anger, but often the anger is firs expressed as aggression. People outgrowing
oppression have so much built up inside, so many memories of powerlessness, and so little
knowledge of how to make themselves be heard. Violence towards others usually end up as the
result. American men and women are among the most fair minded, but have slowly begun to
feel that 4,000 abortions a day is enough. The abortion mentality has encouraged women to think
of themselves as victims. Much emphasis is placed on pregnancy as a result of rape, even
though the statistics show only about .1% of all rapes actually resulting in conception. That
means that a large majority of pregnancies that resulted in abortion were the result of free choice.
The assumption is that a woman does not have control over her own body until after a male
partner is finished with it. Why is that? Where is their sense of pride? Maybe they re just looking
at responsibilities as well as rights, and choosing instead of reacting. Pro choice supporters argue
that abortion should be viewed as not be immoral, and sometimes a necessary choice a woman
must make in order to be in charge of her life. Considering pregnancy from a woman s point of
view, it can be very dangerous to

Personal Narrative On Jenny
At age 10, I would hide notes in her yard, I would stick deep within the bushes or far within the
trees. I had bought fake blood at Benny s Halloween Store and would run the bright liquid prop
across the trees sometimes on the notes. Every note lead to another clue. Every clue lead to her
discovering something. At one point the final note lead to a barbie doused in blood. I wasn t
always that mean though. Sometimes she would find things such as money or candy. Solving
mysteries was her favorite hobby. She was excellent at it. She was addicted to the suspense
brought by it. Although, the older we got, the less in touch we were. I was mowing my lawn when

investigating the crime scene. The front of the house was a military green color which was very

Examples Of Sexism In Their Eyes Were Watching God
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston in 1937 was written during the time of
the Harlem Renaissance, also known as the New Negro Movement. The New Negro Movement
came about as a rejection of the racial segregation between blacks and whites. The black women
felt this effect of racism more acutely than the black man. For centuries, Black women have been
called the mule of the world and had been giving the status of inferior to white and the black man.
Their Eyes Were Watching God encloses many elements of both racism and sexism. It is a story
set in central and southern Florida. It follows the novels protagonist Janie in her search for self
awareness as she goes through three marriages. Elizabeth A. Meese has argued that one of... Show

marrying for love and mocks Janie saying, So you don t want to marry off decent like, do yuh?
You just wants to hug and kiss and feel around with first one man and then another, huh? (Their

along with the plan. She is depicted as very compliant and rarely speaks her mind, even saying But

An arrogant comment, a brag from Muhammad Ali, but he was not wrong he was a great

Causes Of The Chernobyl Nuclear Accident
The Chernobyl Nuclear Accident was a devastating nuclear accident. It happened April 26, 1996 at
the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The accident happened during a yearly test (Robinson). The
test that occurred had been done the year before and when fine, but when tested again, it went
amiss ( Chernobyl Accident: Sequence of Events, World Nuclear Association). There are many
causes for why the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident happened like a flawed system, human error, and
no plans if an emergency should happen. There are also many health effects of what happened after
the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident like mental instability, a higher chance for thyroid cancer, and
more cases of leukemia.
One of the main reasons that the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident happened was because the reactor
was flawed. Although every Nuclear Power Plant has flaws, Chernobyl had some pretty noticeable
ones. A big design flaw was the way the reactor was made. Another design flaw is the lack of
safety features. The last main design flaw is the flaws that could have been prevented.
When building the reactors at Chernobyl, it was decided to build an RBMK reactor (The
Chernobyl Gallery). An RBMK reactor is also known as a boiling water reactor (The Chernobyl
Gallery). The Soviets did not think that an RBMK reactor was capable of exploding (Read). An
RBMK reactor was at the time considered the cheaper and safer option although it did release
roughly 40 times the amount of radiation of a Pressurized Water Reactor

Should The United States Give Aid To The Poor
Poverty and Dependency: Aid for the Poor The United States of America gives billions of
dollars in financial aid each year to help support a myriad of different countries to include
Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and multiple African nations. It is morally and ethically correct to
help countries in times of true emergency, but how much help is considered too much? Are we
as a nation hindering our own growth and future preservation by contributing to this worldwide
aid? The answer is very clear when put into perspective. First of all, giving financial aid to other
countries helps them to continue their current way of life with ease. However, by giving aid in
the form of money, medical supplies, and food hinders hard working people because they have to
pay taxes, for a service that does not benefit them in any way. If aid is constantly given to poor
countries, we will eventually find ourselves in hardship situations, and we will have no one to help
us in future times of need. Each and every country should have its own unassisted emergency fund
in case of natural disaster or any other form of tragedy, and should not be dependent upon the U.S.

The Importance Of Chromosomes And Chromosomal Structure
The vast majority of the scientific community is cognizant of the importance of chromosomes and
chromosomal structure in cellular replication and lifespan. One of the most prominent and greatly
researched discoveries of chromosomes has been the telomere and the enzyme telomerase with
which telomeres interact. The term telomere refers to the caps located on the ends of chromosomes
as a form of protection against chromosomal shortening and aging. Telomerase is an enzyme that
aids in the lengthening of telomeres through replenishing TTAGGG ribonucleic repeats that do not
code for particular amino acids and is present in high amounts exclusively in cells such as gametes
or stem cells. These repeats then undergo chromosomal shortening rather than the necessary
ribonucleic acid sequences of DNA. (Yuanjun et al., 2014). Telomerase itself is a highly intricate
enzyme that is capable of interacting with accessory proteins, RNA templates, and the
ribonucleoprotein complex of a catalytic human reverse transcriptase. The human telomerase gene
commonly referred to as hTERT is responsible for activating telomerase and is further regulated by
transcription factors. Copious studies have revealed that aging and other growth crises such as
cancer is telomere length dependent and may be avoided through the increased expression of the
hTERT gene, telomerase activity, and stabilization of telomere length. (Degerman et al., 2011).
Aging is additionally avoided in cells through the negation of

Response to Boyz N the Hood Essay
Amad EliaCIN 303 Response to Boyz N the Hood and Review by Roger Ebert in the Chicago
Sun TimesThe more times I viewed this film, the more I became captivated by the poignant
message Singleton is trying to convey in Boyz N the Hood. The poignant message is the impact
that a father has on a young urban African American individual living in the ghetto and
subsequently the impact of being fatherless in the ghetto. In fact Boyz N the Hood includes,
among many social topics, a father s essential role in his son s healthy development and the
disastrous effects a father s absence has on children and society. For instance, the main character,
Tre (Cuba Gooding Jr.), has a father who strongly influences and guides him. His... Show more

Furthermore, Boyz N the Hood also offers an honest and realistic portrayal of a father s absence
in urban America. This is best exemplified by Tre s boyhood friends, who lack a strong fatherly
influence, end up involved in gang violence, selling drugs, and other societal traps. More
specifically, a close friend, Doughboy, lacks a father in his life. And although Doughboy s mother
ties to lead him in the right direction, she favors Doughboy s brother Ricky over him, and
Doughboy ends up spending time in prison and dealing drugs. Doughboy experiences gang related
violence first hand and ultimately becomes a neighborhood victim. Without a strong father figure,
Doughboy never valued responsibility, dedication, respect for women, or morality. Resultantly, he
succumbs to his neighborhood s social ills.
Moreover, in terms of connecting Boyz N the Hood to our course, I was beguiled by a few
similarities and differences between Do the Right Thing and Boyz N the Hood. One similarity is
that both Singleton and Lee introduce protagonist characters in their films (Mookie in Do the Right
Thing, and Furious in Boyz N the Hood) that illuminate the thematic messages that each director is
trying to communicate in their films. Another, similarity is that both films introduce complex
themes and frankly explored racism, using contemporary rap music as background and as political
commentary. In regards to

Explain How To Make A Homemade Water Filter
Blue Highlight = Allie Sensing Shelter and fire comes first. Than create tools and supplies that
will help you get food and water and other materials. Think through things and try to make the
least amount of mistakes. Because when surviving, mistakes can be fatal. We should look up
how to make a homemade water filter. We should also look up the easiest way to get things like
water, food, shelter, and maybe tools. Best we try and make a shelter right away. You can actually
live up to 30 days with only water. But you ll be very hungry. So next step, water. Then after we
have a good shelter, and a good source of water, we can find out how to make a fire, and kill some
fish or animals. We could even go look for non poisonous berries or fruits.... Show more content on

What I would like to do is find books that talk about bad, or good berries, also, maybe types of
birds, or animals. Another thing, when we find things like food, we need to make sure we
research what stuff is deadly to eat, or very good to eat raw. We need to know what things to
cook and not. Blue= Brenden You can only go 3 days without water and like we already said
you can go 30 days with just water. To make saltwater drinkable the only thing you have to is
boil the water and the salt will be left in the pan and you just drink the water. I learned that
mistakes can cost you a lot. There is a lot of things to eat and drink on a island more than salt
water and fish. Never leave a island with out lots of food and water to drink and eat. There is a
lot of things you can eat on island. You can eat crabs, fish, and other sea creature. The next
important thing is that you have to make a fire. A way to start a fire is to get glasses or
mediafire. The wood you need are dead branches from the trees. Another way to make a fire is rub
hard shaft wood and softwood base. Another way is to do the human drill. You can also use flint and

Poverty And Its Effects On Society
Poverty is one of the concepts that are created through corruption. Poverty is defined as a
situation in which a person s income is inadequate to provide the necessities of life. This is
apparent through the work of slaves as they mine diamonds without pay. They are threatened and
forced to mine diamonds or else they will be killed or harmed in other ways. The companies such
as Van De Kaap are exploiting workers as they are able to mine diamonds through free labour.

They can hardly afford water and food for not only their family but themselves. If they can barely
live with this, how can they start a family and have the proper materials to live a better life? Lack
of food and education are problems that these miners in this country face.
In terms of mining diamonds on small scale, they are generally unregulated activity and often has
no laws since they the work is done independently and privately rather than through a formal
company. Many of these miners do not have a license nor have access to global markets thus
limiting their bargaining power and having limited to no leverage thus forcing them to sell the
diamonds to middle men which are way below market prices. (Brilliant Earth, 2016)
In the Lorenz curve (Graph 1), it shows that he further away a point is from the straight line drawn
from point (0, 0) and (100,100) than the points are representing perfect inequality. As the Lorenz
curve is closer to the curve it represents perfect equality and more equally incomes are distributed.
Curves B and C show more and more skewed income to the percentage of households. Curve C
would most likely display what is going on in Africa through the exploitation of conflict diamonds.
The reason for this is because those that mine the diamonds are paid so little thus belonging in the
lower levels of cumulative share of income.

Banning Guns On Campuses And Universities
Crime seems to be at an all time high in current times. I feel that this is due to so many people
carrying guns. The safety of all people should be the focus of our society now. One area we
really need to not allow firearms on campuses. This is only one area to focus on. There are
several reason why allowing guns on colleges campuses and universities could be dangerous to
people. First, gun violence seems to lead to an escalation of violent crime. The percentage of
students that could be robbed on their way to class increases . Campuses that do not have metal
detectors to screen the students are at risk for violent crime. Some students could be carrying guns
without legally obtaining methods to carry them. New Orleans campuses have not had the violence
that has taken place at other campuses. It could take place and since bullets have no name on them,
anyone could be the victim. When students leave class late at night there is a risk that they could be
involved and even killed over little things as their tennis shoes, clothes, or money. The violence is
getting worst around the world. All fifty states allow citizens to carry concealed weapons they meet
certain requirements ... only nineteen states has ban carrying a concealed weapon on college
campus...and Louisiana is one of them. Violence on any campus should not be tolerated as it puts
the faculty, staff and students in danger. Additionally, there are students who could snap when
someone makes them angry. Students

Problems With Battling Malware Have Been Discussed, Moving...
Now that issues with battling malware have been discussed, moving to solutions is the next step.
Utilizing deobfuscation, especially through signature analysis, has already been discussed to its
fullest potential. New methods include CPU analyzers, holograpy, eigenvirus detection, differential
fault analysis, the growing grapes method, and whitelist protection. These are more general
approaches and therefore do not rely on storing certain specific characteristics of the code of
malwareand tend to analyze behavior. Due to the extreme focus on deobfuscation, these ideas
have only been explored fairly recently and are currently underdeveloped. As was stated in the
previous section, CPU analyzers are a possible valid method of detecting malware. While it can
be unreliable alone, O Kane et al. believe it can be a good preliminary detection method for
metamorphic malware due to high CPU processing times (2011). The main issue is valid processes
may trigger a warning with this type of detection. This is why it must be paired with another
detection method. A newer study examines a type of anti malware called holography. Dai, Fyodor,
Wu Huang, and Kuo, researchers at the National Taiwan University and the Research Center for
Information Technology Innovation in Taipei, state that holography utilizes CPU analysis and
memory instructions in order to analyze malware and detect infections (2012). However, this
method is, in general, more useful currently as an analysis method

  • 2. Wendat Attributes In The Orenda The blame game, described as someone assigning blame to others rather than finding a solution. This game is a great way to try and fault others for one s own mistakes. In the book, The Orenda written by Joseph Boyden, it is described how the aboriginal people of the Wendat became extirpated by their enemies because of their own inadequacies. Throughout the course of the book, the Wendat make awful decisions and because of such decisions the wendat nation becomes extinct. The Wendat are prideful and some refuse to seek help even in the most desperate of times. The Wendat choose to ignore the dreams of their people and the prophecies. The Wendat are also extremely greedy, their greed gives a demand in which one cannot maintain whilst their nation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fox says, I d rather die naked and freezing than come here for protection (Boyden, pg 354) which shows that Fox would rather die with absolutely nothing then live with the crows, their allies. In what world does one not ask or accept help from their allies? Obviously in a proud and arrogant one. After the Wendat had been decimated by the smallpox outbreak, they kept to themselves even more than before. Another example of how the Wendat s pride causes issues is when Bird is negotiating peace with the Iroquois he loses the Wampum. Instead of asking for forgiveness, he decides to go into battle. Bird states, our story meant for these people who are our enemy, has been lost...I now know that the course we are on...is a course of warfare. (Boyden, page 108) Bird does not even consider reasoning with them or holding negotiations. The Wendat pride has caused its people many issues and ultimately their own unfortunate demise. Though the Wendat were not solely responsible for their extirpation, they played a large part of what happened to them because of how they were arrogant and chose to disrespect those who wished to help them. Another factor that led to the demise of the Wendat people is because they chose to ignore the pleas of their people and the prophetic dreams that warned them. They also became entranced by the wealth the Europeans had to offer, so much so that they began to shape their way of life around it. With all the problems the Wendat faced, it is a miracle that there are even any population surviving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. 20 Time Project Research Paper For my 20 time project, I decided to learn about humane societies and the animals in them. I chose this project because I enjoy interacting with animals and I liked the idea of helping the community. I also wanted to help all of the animals around the world that are struggling by spreading awareness for people to help these animals in need. I was hoping to learn the specifics about how long animals stay at the humane society, how they make it into the humane society, the adoption process, and several other things about the animals. I answered these questions through the internet and an interview that I completed with our local humane society. The interview that I did helped me the most in my research, as it answered each of the specific questions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I say this because one humane society would do a home inspection and be very precise about the animals living conditions, while another wouldn t even do a home inspection. I was also surprised while doing my research how many different types of animals the humane societies could decide to take in. While looking at the humane society of the united states, there were almost sixty different species that the humane societies could/may care for. This just blew my mind because I thought that most only took in dogs, cats, and a few different farm animals (like horses). This just showed me how willing these employees are to care for so many different types of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. British Petroleum (Bp) Case Study Essay British Petroleum (BP) Case Study Executive Summary This case study report examined a public relation management problem that British Petroleum (BP) faced since the oil spill accident happened in April, 2010. In addition, this thesis recommended possible solutions and implementation plans for BP to deal with the public crisis. On April 20, the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico led to the largest accidental release of oil into marine waters in history. As a result, a huge loss of money and life was caused and affected serious environmental damage to wild animals and water pollution. BP was accused of their irresponsibility that it took 87 days before the well was closed and sealed. BP s shares ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As of March 28, there were still 217 vessels and 2,349 personnel working on cleaning up the spill. 3,474 kilometres of containment and absorbent boom were deployed against the spreading oil slick on August 2nd. 411 in situ burns conducted (which burned 265,450 barrels of oil) and 1.4 million barrels of liquid waste collected. 1.2. Problem of statement The oil spill undermines the reputation and market position of British Petroleum, thus its stock prices decline dramatically. Even though BP took measures for resolving these problems, its way was not beneficial enough and therefore, it still requires more advantageous resolutions. 1.3. • 5. Two Point Discrimination Test Essay In this lab we apply the technique known as a two point discrimination test. This test will allow us to determine which regions of the skin are best able to discriminate between two simultaneous sensory impulses. According to (Haggard et al. 2007), tactile discrimination depends on the size of the receptive fields located on the somatosensory neurons. However receptive fields for other types of sensations are located elsewhere. For vision we find that the receptive fields are located inside the visual cortex, and for hearing we find receptive fields in the auditory cortex. The ability for the body to discriminate two points depends on how well that area of the body is innervated with neurons; and thus conferring to the size of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, value marked .25 on the discriminator was a single point. The first person to have the test done was to sit on a bench, lift his sleeve, and close his eyes. We would then conduct this experiment by utilizing a series of pressure points using several different values on the two point discriminator. This was performed while the subject would report how many points he was feeling in that particular area. We began with the finger, first starting with a single point on the discriminator. We then randomly picked points and recorded the values on a table. Next we did the two point discrimination test on the forearm. This part of the method was performed near the elbow, and again we began with a single point on the two point discriminator. Lastly we applied the moving discrimination test with a third subject and one trial. We performed this test near the palm, and recorded the distance after which he felt a difference. Overall three subjects were tested and a total of five trials were recorded, two for the finger, one for the palm and two for the forearm. It is important to note that the subjects were allowed to have a break and take a breather. This gave him a more comfortable feeling prior to being tested. Results were taken immediately after performing the experiment. For subject 1, we began with the finger. In two out of six pressure points applied to subject 1 (finger), he recorded an improper result. Those points happened to be very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Oppression Of Gender Roles In Wonder Woman By Christian Stoic Like I previously mentioned, the genre of action and adventure is so diverse, and there are so many heroines and female characters, it is hard to argue that women in action roles strictly have a negative impact on female viewers. Also, it would be completely inappropriate to argue that women in lead action roles have no positive impacts on femaleviewers. As society continues to advance, female heroines are also evolving and moving further away from the traditionally hypersexualized characters. Instead, these heroines are easier for women to identify with, they are extremely strong and independent female leads, and they are dressed more practically /appropriately. A few examples of these new age action heroines include Jessica Jones, Alicia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done when it comes to female heroines, and I hope that in time (sooner rather than later) these women heroines will serve strictly to empower and inspire women of all ages. One reason that these heroines are sexualized and dumbed down more often than not might be due to the lack of equality in terms of male and female directors. In an article written by Yohana Desta, it states that There are about 23.8 male directors for every female director (Desta 2017), and also that Women were more likely to direct dramas, and less likely to direct science fiction or action films which are, imperatively, often the most successful and lucrative genres in the business (Desta 2017). Since these lead female roles are written and created mainly by men and not women, they are more aimed at a male audience. This is most likely why these women s bodies are focused on more than making these characters into well rounded heroines that could serve to inspire women. I believe that in order to transition from these heroines negatively impacting females, to these heroines serving to empower women, there first needs to be an increase in the number of female directors in Hollywood. I also feel that male directors should use women such as Jessica Jones or the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Hunger Games Dystopian Society A Dystopian society can be defined as an imperfect world, a place marked by class distinction, poverty, turmoil, and dehumanization. There are two modern works that represent these ideas to society , Divergent and The Hunger Games. Both novels portray a cataclysmic decline in society in the way that these dystopian elements are present. The novels referenced above feature an omnipotent authority in the form of Snow from The Hunger Games and Jeanine and Eric from Divergent. The factions, Divergent, and capital, The Hunger Games, represent totalitarian government, and oppression and cruelty elicited through the large wage gap cause mistrust among its people. With this type of government, there are always the figureheads, a benevolent leader type of public persona, which are almost always radically different from what actually happens outside the eye of the public. The Games serve as a repressing tool to keep the tributes from joining forces or revolting against the corrupt regime. These games of killing members of other tributes cause adverse effects on the person that stem from contrasts between the capital s demands for deindividuation, obedience, a chain of command, and dissociation. Similarly, totalitarian regiments have been known to violate its people through torture, slave labor, and repression of citizens. Torture and repression can be observed in the annual Hunger Games, in the way in which young district members are taken away from their families by force to be trained into killing other district members and slave labor being represented by the way that each district in the worst working conditioned specializes into doing a specific thing to benefit the ... • 8. Children Of The River Quotes The hardest part of being an immigrant is the journey to their destination because of these reasons which are leaving family behind and getting to their destination. Leaving family behind is hard because most times immigrants will never see them again. Getting to their destination is hard to because their are smugglers who swindle immigrants and leave them with no money and in the hands of police. This piece of evidence shows how hard it is to get out of a country because sometimes part of the immigrants familycould die. In my book Children of the River the main character Sundra is trying to take care of her aunt s baby but is struggling with it and then when she goes for milk the man tells her If the baby dies, throw it overboard right... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a better option than staying in Cambodia because than her whole family would have been killed by the Communists. In this quote, getting out of the country was a challenge for Sundra because she is sometimes blamed for the baby dying. Sundra s aunt was mad that Sundra threw the baby overboard before giving it to the baby s mother Sundra s aunt. After, Sundra s aunt blames her for the baby dying Sundra feels guilty about how she could of saved the baby. Another reason why the biggest challenge for immigrants is the journey to America is leaving family behind. This quote is from Shooting Kabul during this part of the story Fadi s family is trying to get out of Kabul and he loses his sister in the crowd. This quote is when Fadi is reflecting back on how he lost his sister. His six year old little sister had been lost because of him. Similarly, this quote and the quote from Children of the River contrast because Fadi feels guilty for losing his sister and Sundra feels guilty for losing her aunts baby. This is hard for Fadi because he is reflecting back throughout the book about how he could of saved his sister in that moment. Both of these pieces of evidence show how the journey to an immigrants destination is the hardest part of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the case of the exclusive pink color introduction of the toy medical kit, the risks associated with this launch will be somewhat minimized, given the success of the existing green medical kit available to all retailers. While the riskis minimized with the existing history of the item, the color itself has the potential to limit the demographics. The medical kit is rated for an age range of three to six years old. (Fisher Price, n.d.) While this item can be used by all children, pink is generally viewed as a female specific color choice. Parents may still choose to purchase the green kit to make it appealing to all children in the family. It may unintentionally limit the amount of people this specific color would appeal to, thus creating a slower inventory turn. Fisher Price would run this color in a batch productionbut any unsold inventory creates a liability. Additional risks can be in the production itself. Toys are in a very regulated industry and any defects in production that are not within the regulatory standards can be either recalled if they are already being sold to consumers or cause the entire production run to be discarded or destroyed. Both instances are very costly but taking the initiative to create a safe work environment that is compliant with all regulations can mitigate that risk. It had been Inspired by Dorothoy s(his sister) diary extract which chronicles their peaceful promenading along a river near Grasmere, where they encountered a colony of radiant daffodils. The sight was so glorious which later on inspirited William to compile his recollection of one of his most precious memories. After examining the novel on a political level readers learn that humans are greedy and protective; Delaney s community didn t want to share anything with Candido s community. They built a wall to keep the immigrants out of their community. They also demolished the labor exchange to stop immigrants from being able to find work claiming it was an experiment that didn t work (Boyles 192). • 24. Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well. It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words. It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until later when he starts speaking. This isolation, the contempt Jack feels towards Ralph, and the unnerving power that Jack holds over the rest of the boys culminates in the final hunt, where Jack orders the boys to track down and kill Ralph. Such a moment does not occur in The Coral Island. Throughout Ballantyne s novel, the boys remain friends and trusted companions. When Ballantyne s Ralph is kidnapped by pirates, the boys mourn him, thinking he has died. Ralph and Peterkin never question Jack s judgements or plans. Peterkin is always included in conversations, despite his young age, and respected. When Ralph contemplates how they managed to be so agreeable he comes to a conclusion: There was, indeed, no discord whatever in the symphony we played together on that sweet Coral Island; and I am now persuaded that this was owing to our having been all tuned to the same key namely, that of love! Yes, we loved one another with much fervency while we lived on that island; and, for a matter of that, we love each other still (Ballantyne 109). The first World war chemical weapons were used then outlawed for combat. The obvious answer to fix nuclear weapons is to get rid of them all but we all know that is unlikely. The United States wouldn t even bare the idea of getting rid of their nuclear capabilities. • 32. The Importance Of Education Why do students continue to enter a college education system that is no longer focusing on them? The education system was built to serve the interest of the public, to provide opportunities for people to further their education and move up or maintain their social classes, and to teach people to think for themselves. All of the authors Menand, Roth, and Couturier all agree that educationis threatened by the fact that colleges are focusing more on their private affairs instead of the students. They believe collegeshould be focused on the student and their ability to think on their own and enhance their capabilities (Roth 2). Rose Hulman does this well by challenging their students with a hard curriculum, but at the same time they are willing to give them plenty of opportunities to find success with smaller class sizes and a student friendly environment. Michael Roth believes that people aremore than just human capital for society; he thinks that everyone should be able to find significance in their lives and work (3). In his essay Learning as Freedom, by he discusses why education should be more than just learning how to do a skill; John Dewey said, it should be about enhancing our capabilities (2). He describes how everyone has their role is society and that not everyone can be a leader, but Roth quotes Dewey saying, the great thing for one as for the other is that each shall have had the education which enables him to see within his daily work all there is in it ... • 34. Women In A Tale Of Two Cities A Tale of Two Cities Essay Women in the 18th century were slowly beginning to gain more rights, but not enough to be equal to men. They were sometimes disrespected, and many people still thought that women were not able to have a job; they were just meant to run the household. Many advances were made in this time period, such as having the availability of more education, and being able to assist their husband in work outside of home. But there were still many things women did not have say in, such as marriage laws. In Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, women play a major role in the story, and show just how capable a woman can be, even without the respect that they rightfully deserve. Miss Pross portrays that a woman can be just as brave as a man, and make sacrifices for those who she cares about. At the end of the book, Miss Pross faces Madame Defarge alone, and is willing to sacrifice herself for Lucie. Her love and loyalty to Lucie shows when she is with Defarge. She knows that the longer I keep you here, the greater hope there is for my Ladybird (Page 377). As this week s minicamp practices come to an end, the bears have added Tony Moeaki to their 90 man roster. Moeaki was simply using the minicamp as an effort to try out and be noticed by someone on the Bears coaching staff. With the bears wanting to add strength to the position, giving Moeaki the last spot on the 90 man roster appeared to be a wise decision. After being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft, Chicago will be the 5th team that Moeaki has been a part of. His most productive season to this point in his career has been his rookie season when he accumulated 556 yards on 47 receptions. The various people involved in the abortion debate not only have strong beliefs, but each group has a self appeal that clearly reflects what they believe to be the essential issues. The abortion supporters see individual choice as central to the debate: If a woman cannot choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, a condition which affects her body and possibly her entire life, then she has lost one of her most basic human rights. Whenever an individual or group realizes it has been treated unjustly, the first reaction is anger, but often the anger is firs expressed as aggression. Violence towards others usually end up as the result. American men and women are among the most fair minded, but have slowly begun to feel that 4,000 abortions a day is enough. The abortion mentality has encouraged women to think of themselves as victims. Much emphasis is placed on pregnancy as a result of rape, even though the statistics show only about .1% of all rapes actually resulting in conception. That means that a large majority of pregnancies that resulted in abortion were the result of free choice. The assumption is that a woman does not have control over her own body until after a male partner is finished with it. Why is that? Where is their sense of pride? Maybe they re just looking at responsibilities as well as rights, and choosing instead of reacting. The accident happened during a yearly test (Robinson). The test that occurred had been done the year before and when fine, but when tested again, it went amiss ( Chernobyl Accident: Sequence of Events, World Nuclear Association). There are many causes for why the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident happened like a flawed system, human error, and no plans if an emergency should happen. There are also many health effects of what happened after the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident like mental instability, a higher chance for thyroid cancer, and more cases of leukemia. One of the main reasons that the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident happened was because the reactor was flawed. Although every Nuclear Power Plant has flaws, Chernobyl had some pretty noticeable ones. Are we as a nation hindering our own growth and future preservation by contributing to this worldwide aid? The answer is very clear when put into perspective. First of all, giving financial aid to other countries helps them to continue their current way of life with ease. However, by giving aid in the form of money, medical supplies, and food hinders hard working people because they have to pay taxes, for a service that does not benefit them in any way. If aid is constantly given to poor countries, we will eventually find ourselves in hardship situations, and we will have no one to help us in future times of need. • 46. The Importance Of Chromosomes And Chromosomal Structure The vast majority of the scientific community is cognizant of the importance of chromosomes and chromosomal structure in cellular replication and lifespan. One of the most prominent and greatly researched discoveries of chromosomes has been the telomere and the enzyme telomerase with which telomeres interact. The term telomere refers to the caps located on the ends of chromosomes as a form of protection against chromosomal shortening and aging. Telomerase is an enzyme that aids in the lengthening of telomeres through replenishing TTAGGG ribonucleic repeats that do not code for particular amino acids and is present in high amounts exclusively in cells such as gametes or stem cells. These repeats then undergo chromosomal shortening rather than the necessary ribonucleic acid sequences of DNA. (Yuanjun et al., 2014). Telomerase itself is a highly intricate enzyme that is capable of interacting with accessory proteins, RNA templates, and the ribonucleoprotein complex of a catalytic human reverse transcriptase. The human telomerase gene commonly referred to as hTERT is responsible for activating telomerase and is further regulated by transcription factors. Copious studies have revealed that aging and other growth crises such as cancer is telomere length dependent and may be avoided through the increased expression of the hTERT gene, telomerase activity, and stabilization of telomere length. (Degerman et al., 2011). Aging is additionally avoided in cells through the negation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact Boyz N the Hood includes, among many social topics, a father s essential role in his son s healthy development and the disastrous effects a father s absence has on children and society. This is best exemplified by Tre s boyhood friends, who lack a strong fatherly influence, end up involved in gang violence, selling drugs, and other societal traps. More specifically, a close friend, Doughboy, lacks a father in his life. And although Doughboy s mother ties to lead him in the right direction, she favors Doughboy s brother Ricky over him, and Doughboy ends up spending time in prison and dealing drugs. Doughboy experiences gang related violence first hand and ultimately becomes a neighborhood victim. Without a strong father figure, Doughboy never valued responsibility, dedication, respect for women, or morality. Resultantly, he succumbs to his neighborhood s social ills. Moreover, in terms of connecting Boyz N the Hood to our course, I was beguiled by a few similarities and differences between Do the Right Thing and Boyz N the Hood. One similarity is that both Singleton and Lee introduce protagonist characters in their films (Mookie in Do the Right Thing, and Furious in Boyz N the Hood) that illuminate the thematic messages that each director is trying to communicate in their films. • 49. Poverty And Its Effects On Society Poverty is one of the concepts that are created through corruption. Poverty is defined as a situation in which a person s income is inadequate to provide the necessities of life. This is apparent through the work of slaves as they mine diamonds without pay. They are threatened and forced to mine diamonds or else they will be killed or harmed in other ways. The companies such as Van De Kaap are exploiting workers as they are able to mine diamonds through free labour. Solomon Vandy, one of the characters in the movie that are being taken advantage of. These miners looking for diamondare highly disposable as they can easily be replaced by other workers. One character in particular who runs the slave camp chooses whether or not the... If they can barely live with this, how can they start a family and have the proper materials to live a better life? Lack of food and education are problems that these miners in this country face. In terms of mining diamonds on small scale, they are generally unregulated activity and often has no laws since they the work is done independently and privately rather than through a formal company. Many of these miners do not have a license nor have access to global markets thus limiting their bargaining power and having limited to no leverage thus forcing them to sell the diamonds to middle men which are way below market prices. (Brilliant Earth, 2016) In the Lorenz curve (Graph 1), it shows that he further away a point is from the straight line drawn from point (0, 0) and (100,100) than the points are representing perfect inequality. As the Lorenz curve is closer to the curve it represents perfect equality and more equally incomes are distributed. Curves B and C show more and more skewed income to the percentage of households. Curve C would most likely display what is going on in Africa through the exploitation of conflict diamonds. The reason for this is because those that mine the diamonds are paid so little thus belonging in the lower levels of cumulative share of income. • 50. Banning Guns On Campuses And Universities Crime seems to be at an all time high in current times. I feel that this is due to so many people carrying guns. The safety of all people should be the focus of our society now. One area we really need to not allow firearms on campuses. This is only one area to focus on. There are several reason why allowing guns on colleges campuses and universities could be dangerous to people. First, gun violence seems to lead to an escalation of violent crime. The percentage of students that could be robbed on their way to class increases . Campuses that do not have metal detectors to screen the students are at risk for violent crime. Some students could be carrying guns without legally obtaining methods to carry them. New Orleans campuses have not had the violence that has taken place at other campuses. It could take place and since bullets have no name on them, anyone could be the victim. When students leave class late at night there is a risk that they could be involved and even killed over little things as their tennis shoes, clothes, or money. The violence is getting worst around the world. All fifty states allow citizens to carry concealed weapons they meet certain requirements ... only nineteen states has ban carrying a concealed weapon on college campus...and Louisiana is one of them. Violence on any campus should not be tolerated as it puts the faculty, staff and students in danger. Additionally, there are students who could snap when someone makes them angry. Students ... • 51. The Complaints Policy For Affinity Home Care The complaints policy for Affinity Home Care outlines the following aims: пѓ To resolve concerns / complaints as quickly and effectively as possible, through an informal response by a frontline member of staff. If this is not possible then through a more formal investigation and conciliation in an open and non defensive way. пѓ To ensure that all concerns / complaints are dealt with in accordance with the procedures. пѓ To ensure that staff, patients and relatives/carers are aware of the policy and procedures. пѓ To improve quality of service by identifying lessons learned from complaints and by implementing improvements in the service using the lessons learnt. As Deputy Manager part of my job role is to ensure our Policies and Procedures reflect a safe environment for both the client and staff, to enable clients to have the person centred care that the rightly deserve and as a minimum expect, whilst ensuring that staff are given the information, training and skills, to support the client in a positive manner, and to ensure they understand the client s needs. I assisted with the content of our Service User Guide in this pack I have devised a section which includes a piece about expectations on how complaints will be dealt with. This reads as the following: All oral complaints, no matter how seemingly unimportant, will be taken seriously. Front line care staff who receive an oral complaint should seek to solve the problem immediately. If staff cannot solve the problem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Problems With Battling Malware Have Been Discussed, Moving... Now that issues with battling malware have been discussed, moving to solutions is the next step. Utilizing deobfuscation, especially through signature analysis, has already been discussed to its fullest potential. New methods include CPU analyzers, holograpy, eigenvirus detection, differential fault analysis, the growing grapes method, and whitelist protection. These are more general approaches and therefore do not rely on storing certain specific characteristics of the code of malwareand tend to analyze behavior. Due to the extreme focus on deobfuscation, these ideas have only been explored fairly recently and are currently underdeveloped. As was stated in the previous section, CPU analyzers are a possible valid method of detecting malware. While it can be unreliable alone, O Kane et al. believe it can be a good preliminary detection method for metamorphic malware due to high CPU processing times (2011). The main issue is valid processes may trigger a warning with this type of detection. This is why it must be paired with another detection method. A newer study examines a type of anti malware called holography. Dai, Fyodor, Wu Huang, and Kuo, researchers at the National Taiwan University and the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation in Taipei, state that holography utilizes CPU analysis and memory instructions in order to analyze malware and detect infections (2012). However, this method is, in general, more useful currently as an analysis method ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
