The osmolarity of a solution is the concentration measured of a solute. To determine the concentration
of a solution, one must first understand what osmosis is and how it works. Osmosis is the spontaneous
passage or diffusion of water or other solvents through a semipermeable membrane according to the

In September 1993, Huizenga proposed a $4.7 billion merger with media giant Viacom Inc. The
merger did not prove to be fruitful. By April 1994, Blockbuster s and Viacom s stock had tumbled

In Victorian England, children did not have much of an education, they were mostly just taught how to
read. Many poor children worked instead of going to school. Richer families could afford school fees
but wealthy girls were usually taught at home by a governess, and the boys attended good schools like
grammar schools. Some schools had spots for poor boys that could attend for free. There weren t very
many schools for children to go to anyway. The biggest issue to me was that poor girls did not have an
education at all.
In 1780, Robert Raikes taught children in Sunday school how to read so they could read the bible .

The determination of patients energy needs is important in the clinical practice since the balance
between energy intake and expenditure has important implications to the patient s health, as well as
underfeeding and overfeeding. However, identifying the patients energy expenditure and designing

network is a group of devices connected together. There are many types of computer networks like,
local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), campus area network (CAN), home area
network (HAN), metropolitan area network (MAN). Topology is the geometric arrangement of the
computer system. The common topologies are bus, star, ring, mesh etc. Network topology refers to the
physical or logical layout of a network. It defines the way different nodes are placed and
interconnected with each other. Network topology describes how the data is transferred between these
nodes. There are two types of network topologies: physical and logical. Physical topology emphasizes
the physical layout of the connected devices and nodes, while the logical topology focuses on the

Kinship has traditionally been one of the key topics in social and cultural anthropology. There are two
primary reasons for this. First, although not all communities are constituted on the basis of kinship, all
humans have a kinship as individuals and are related to other individuals through it. Second, for the
sorts of tribal, classless, economically unspecialized societies that anthropologists have mostly though
no longer exclusively studied, kinship has appeared to be the main or even sole form of social
organization. These observations led various theoretical approaches, especially the schools of
functionalism and structuralism within social anthropology, to focusing on how social groups are
formed. They got interested in studying of how individuals are related to one another through kinship,
and what kinds of mutual rights and duties they have as a result. (R. Parkin. Kinship)
Parkin (2012) also points out that unlike the functionalists and structuralists, cultural anthropologists,
elected to focus more greatly on the symbolic rather than socio practical aspects of kinship. They are
interested in the meanings attached to being a particular sort of relative. They also study how symbols
of and perspectives on an individual, the body, and gender tell kinship ideas and practices. In broad
terms, a study of kingship from the symbolic standpoint has prevailed in America since the beginning
of the twentieth century and periodically has been reinvented and by the 1970s become more
influential in world anthropology, especially in its poststructuralist phase. The field of study of a
kinship can be divided into three major categories: descent (that is, relations between generations);
affinity (marriage); and siblingship. However, the siblingship hasn t been studied as widely as the first

population by the year 2050 and consist of over 30 different ethnicities. Teresa Mok of Purdue
University stated in 1998 that Despite their increasing numbers and heterogeneity, little reflection of

ethnic diversity often times Asian Americans are left out of film and television altogether. Media

said, 60% of Hawaii s population is AAPIs, Caucasians only make up thirty percent of the population,

I chose to do my open court observation on criminal cases. Criminal cases usually involve attorneys
that try to prove their argument to the judge. I felt as though this setting would be more interesting to
sit and observe versus a civil case where you have two people trying to settle a dispute. Its interesting
to see how actual attorneys and judges act in a courtroom instead of what is portrayed on TV. My local
courthouse which is in a police station holds preliminary hearings. A preliminary hearing is where the
judge decides if there is enough evidence that there was a crime committed and you committed a
crime. If the prosecutor fails to do this, then some or all the charges filed against you can be
dismissed. There was two different parts to this process that I saw during my observation. The first
one is when the defendant waives their hearing. Then the second being where the defendant decides to
go through with the hearing. During my observation there was about ten cases, and all but two of them
followed through with the hearing. This was very surprising to me as I watched because I couldn t
understand why someone wouldn t want to at least see if the prosecution had sufficient evidence

transportation is one of the safest forms of transportation in the United States. We require all new

The movie also helped me to understand more about the codebreaking of Enigma that in the end
caused Germany to lose the war. I had a lot of German history in high school, since it is obviously

In all societies three kinds of resources are valued i) power the ability to impose one s will on others;
ii) prestige respect from others; iii) property wealth owned, whether measured in yams, land etc. And

among individuals and groups. When people who differ in their ascribed and achieved characteristics
are evaluated differently; a social hierarchy is formed. A hierarchy is a set of ranked statuses from
highest to lowest. Because both the most and least valued traits are likely to be relatively rare, status
hierarchies tend to be diamond shaped, narrow at the very top and bottom. Within the hierarchy,
people at different levels or strata, can claim different amounts of power, prestige and property. In this
way, a set of ranked statuses based on evaluations of social worth is transformed into a hierarchy of
control over societal resources. Stratification systems thus, are both a cause and consequences of
inequality. Although in a hunting and gathering society all members are equally valued and rewarded,
