This technical report summarizes BRT systems in 12 Brazilian cities based on surveys completed by each city. It provides an overview of each city's BRT system including investments, busway lengths, infrastructure details, and operational facts. The report finds that while Brazilian cities face social and economic constraints, there are notable efforts to create efficient transportation. Some cities' BRT systems have potential to reduce costs and improve quality of life. Challenges remain in achieving financial and institutional sustainability of BRT systems.
