Monica ` S Presence In Augustine s Life
Monica s presence in the spiritual life of Augustine poignantly reveals the profundity of love
shared between a mother and her son. In the nine books in which she is mentioned, Monica makes
significant decisions that have a substantive impact on Augustine s early life. Despite being a
devout Catholic, Monica chooses to delay the baptism of her son until later in life. While this
would be unusual for a contemporary member of the Catholic church, Monica believed it was in the
best interest of Augustine to defer his baptism, allowing him to purge himself of his sinful and
ungodly desires present during his youth with baptism received at an older age. As such, Monica
minimizes the accumulation of sin that Augustine may commit after his baptism, thus allowing him
to be to be judged more warmly by Godafter his death.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
13). Early on, Augustine is unsure of the validity of his mother s decision, considering her to
have failed in her role, as he believed he would be less sinful if baptized at a younger age,
eliminating the ritual s absence as an excuse for him to continue committing sin. Augustine s
blaming Monica for not leading him on the correct spiritual path, proliferates as he grows older as
he deplores her apparent lack of effort in restraining his sexual desires. He laments, ...although she
had warned me to guard my virginity...she did not seek to restrain my sexual drive within the limit
of the marriage bond (pg. 28). However, Augustine s sentiment that his mother did not put forth
great enough effort to restrict his desire slowly dissipates, as he struggles on the path to salvation.
Augustine begins to recognize the significant role Monica played in his conversion, emphasizing
the role she played as both a physical mother and spiritual

Women in Afghanistan are treated harshly by all men. The Taliban militias are known for
raping women when they travel alone and/or beating them. If a women is raped some husbands
kill there wives in shame of what has been done to them. In extreme cases some women live in
abusive households were they are beaten and unappreciated everyday. Some women go through
extreme cases were either their husbands burn them in rage or women burn themselves in order
to make a statement and die with no more suffering from there husbands. A Thousand Splendid
Suns is a story of an abusive husband. The impact on me from this story was immense. Living in
the United States of America most people do not know what is happening in Afghanistan and/or
the extent on what women are put through. Mariam is the perfect example of a life of suffering
for women in Afghanistan. Dishonored as a child, she was forced to live in a clay kolba with her
mother. Married off at the young age of 14, her story begins with the life style of an abusive
husband. Laila, on the other hand, was raised in a family were female education was pursued and
girls were aloud to attend school. Laila s Father is a very loving man and a determined mother.
These two lives help represent the different generations and situations that have happened and are
happening right now in Afghanistan.

This case study of Footwear International demonstrates the cultural differences in society. It shows
the consequences when a society, like Bangladesh, get interpreted the wrong way by the people.
John Carlson from Footwear International experienced an innocent mishap within his company,
which had disrespected many people. He needs to let the people know that it was an honest mistake
and that Footwear International will do whatever it takes to correct the problem. Footwear

At this time Carlson had contacted the designer who was of Bengali Moslem decent. The design
was inspired by a Chinese temple bell, and was approved by many others who were also of
Bangladeshi decent. Footwear Bangladesh was then being associated with Israel and their Jewish
heritage, which was an enemy of earlier conflicts in the Muslim religion. The newspaper had
printed false allegations on the religious backgrounds of Footwear Bangladesh. The university
group of students wanted to add to the volatile situation, by calling for a demonstration that
would take place at the mosque. A local lawyer had come into place to file a statement to light
Section 295 of the Criminal Code. The lawyer was of Bangladesh decent and also an Islamist
sought to accuse four people within Footwear Shoe Company, all of which were non Bangladesh
born. The statement was filed on the same exact day as the article was written, was written to
accuse them of deliberately wanting to outrage the religion of Muslims by engraving the
calligraphy of Allah . This was said to offend the religious feelings of the millions of Muslims, and
were supposed to do whatever it takes to protect the sanctity of Allah. After thoroughly reading this
article and breaking down the actions in this case, it is to be said that external forces played a
powerful role, and took the opportunity to exploit cultural awareness. The timeliness of the

Anne Lamott s Significant Life Lessons In Bird By Bird
Life lessons are learned in many ways throughout life. What makes them unique is that they are
defining moments and are almost unforgettable once you have assimilated it into your life
because they can improve it greatly. Anne Lamott introduces many significant life lessons in Bird
by Bird that people should consider. These lessons such as being yourself, doing what makes you
happy, or even controlling the urge of perfectionism can aide a person to a better life. Someone
being something they are not can wither them away. It can lead them to a state of unhappiness not
being able to express themselves. Anne Lamott illustrates this when she says Risk being unliked
(226). These three simple words say a lot; in fact they can say a thousand. Someone

Design Engineering And Computer Engineering
In my early life I want to become a casino owner but now I work as a mechanical design engineer
in a defense company. Within our business establishment we designs, develops and delivers sonar
apparatus to the Royal Navy and exports apparatus to navies around the globe. Professionally I am
a design engineering and delivering projects as well as design support, but I also expert in stress
analysis, predominantly finite aspect analysis
I have forever had an attention in engineering and mechanical engineering was the most relaxed fit.
The company I decided to work for made the work I would be doing sound extremely interesting
and presented very strong graduate development modules. Main criteria I am using in choosing to
work for the company were varied and appealing work and the chance to develop.
On shop floor my main development has been in CAD and finite component analysis software,
developing my talent in these tools to use them as professionally as possible. I have also undergone
considerable development in soft skills preparation like giving presentations and working in teams.
The software training was particular to my role, but the soft skills development has impacts during
my working tenure.
I like the creativity concerned in my role and the liability. I repeatedly work on demanding projects
and it is up to me to develop a way out to a problem. This allows me a broad scope for creativity. I
am also finally responsible for my actions so I am given important responsibility

The R V. Dudley And Stephens Case Essay
The R v. Dudley and Stephens case occurred in 1884. In May of that year, four men left
Southampton, England for Australia on the Mignonette, a private sailing yacht. These men
were Captain Thomas Dudley (31), mate Edward Stephens (36), seaman Edmond Brooks (38),
and cabin boy Richard Parker (17). While crossing the South Atlantic near the Cape of Good
Hope in July, bad weather struck the yacht and it sunk. The men managed to escape into the
lifeboat, and two one pound tins of turnips were the only food they subsisted on for four days.
They caught a small turtle on the fourth day that lasted eight days, and were without food for
another eight days after. The only fresh water they had was the rain that came from time to time.
On the sixteenth day of drifting Richard Parker became ill from drinking seawater. On the
eighteenth day Dudley and Stephens approached Brooks with the idea that they should sacrifice
one person to save the rest. Brooks dissented, and they did not consult Parker as he was ill. On
July 24th Dudley and Stephens reasoned with Brooks, saying that since they had families to
take care of it was most logical to kill the boy and save themselves. They proposed that if there were
no vessels in sight the next day they would kill Parker. As there were no vessels, Dudley killed
Parker by slitting his throat; the boy was so ill he did not resist. Brooks dissented until Parker s
death, but also fed on the blood and flesh of Parker with the two accused for four days.

Changes Continuities of Silk Road Essay
The Silk Road which started in 200 BCE and ended it in 1450 CE has its own changes and
continuities. Trade flourished between the Asian and Europe at the time and as time went on its
sole purpose of trading expanded to many other purposes and affect not only the area it contacted.
Although there were many continuities during the time but it has more significant changes that
occurred and also impact the world. One significant changes of the Silk Road is when it was first

The reason the Chinese won t let the outsiders know how to make these silk is because the
process of it is hard and they depends mostly on trading these silk for the stuff they needed.
Another continuities is the geography of the silk road. The silk road is consist of many route,
some is shorter but dangerous while other is longer but safer. Even though some of the routes
have changed and there is more variety of stuff that s being traded than when it was started (e.g.
Gunpowder) and the purpose of the road also expanded like people use it to spread religion and
unfortunately is also been a route where disease easily spread (e.g. Black plagues) The continuity
is the geography of the silk road never changed because both the European and Asia gained much
profit from it that it doesn t need to be change and the Silk Road remained the major trade route
between Far Eastern Chinese and European cultures and sparked numerous conflicts in its existence.

An Organizing Framework for Interprofessional Global Health Education

Introduction
G lobal health is an extremely complex ... area of study, research and practice that places a priority
on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide. Global health
emphasizes transnational health issues, determinants and solutions; involves many disciplines
within and beyond the health sciences and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration; and is a
synthesis of population based prevention with individual level care (Koplan et al. 2009, 3).

During an intercultural teaching experience in Japan in 2004 to 2005, the author had previous
experience in developing and teaching an international nursing course. These experiences provided
insight into the complexity of global health and the need to bring disparate but related concepts
into a meaningful whole. Redwood Campbell et al. (2011) described an organizing framework for
global health curricula in family medicine. The aim was to identify and incorporate key educational
elements to achieve desired global health education outcomes. Although the framework guides the
curriculum for family medicine, an expanded framework is needed with an interprofessional focus.
The purpose of this paper is to (a) present an organizing framework for interprofessional global
health courses/curricula, (b) describe the primary and secondary characteristics that are distinct to
global health , and (c) discuss how the primary and secondary characteristics are reflected in the
organizing framework.
The Organizing Framework
Recently, there have been recommendations for the incorporation of systems thinking into global
health. Russell et al. (2014) contended that systems thinking offers the principles and methods
necessary to address existing and future health challenges in global health. Thus, there is
justification for using open systems theory as the basis for the organizing framework which
consists of input, process, output, and a feedback loop. The concepts in

The Perils Of Indifference By Elie Wiesel
April 12, 1999 marked the Seventh Millennium Evening at the White House and the 54th year
after Franklin Roosevelt s death. Years after personally experiencing the horrors of the
Holocaust and World War II, Elie Wiesel shared his story with America among the President and
First lady, Hillary Clinton, to inspire the world to act upon social and political injustices. In his
speech The Perils of Indifference , Wiesel opened up about his past and how it made him realize
how important it is to stand up against crimes against humanity. He also discussed the state of
the American people and compared their involvement in foreign intervention back to the lack of
intervention in World War II. Wiesel motivated America with his emphasis on the emotional,
logical, and ethical impacts of indifference. Perhaps the most influential piece of Wiesel s speech
was his inclusion of unique personal narrative. His touching story of his youth spent in a
concentration camp gave weight to his points on indifference as he recalled that Fifty four years
ago to the day, a young Jewish boy from a small town in the Carpathian Mountains woke up...in a
place of eternal infamy called Buchenwald (Wiesel). With no property to their name and no
individual rights, they marched to Buchenwald where his father later died before they could both
escape ( Wiesel, Elie ). The reality of these past horrors gave him a strong sense of credibility as he
spoke on about the time when he was oppressed and victimized.

humanity decades after as it continues to rebuild from a tribulation believe to have been sent by
God to punish sinners of the past. The inhabitants of this dystopian society are left with little
knowledge of their past, with only a copy of the Bible and its Repentances left by the past
inhabitants, to give them a sense of direction. Wyndham presents the Waknuks (a small community

Nursing Sensitive Indicators Are Defined By The American...
Nursing sensitive indicators are defined by the American Nursing Association (ANA) as indicators
that reflect the structure, process and outcomes of nursing care (ANA, 2014). These indicators help
define how nursing care is given by measuring the amount of nursing staff, skill level of the nursing
staff, and the education level of nursing staff. These indicators depict the quality of care provided to
patients and the outcomes of the care provided. Careful tracking of these indicators provides
evidence for keeping current practices or for implementing new policy and procedures. A formal set
of indicators measuring the impact nursing interventions have on patient care was not implemented
until 1998 (Montalvo, I. (2007). With the establishment of the National Database of Nursing
Quality Indicators (NDNQI), hospitals and other care settings are able to assess how nursing
interventions impact patient outcomes, quality of care, and the overall work environment in health
care facilities. Nursing sensitive indicators are a quality improvement measure used to determine
how the quality of nursing care is evaluated in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Nurse
sensitive indicators allow healthcare facilities to evaluate how the care they are providing is
following evidence based practices and how they can improve their practices to achieve better
patient outcomes. The American Nurses Association is promoting these indicators as the definitive
standards for patient care

Mexican American Males and Alcoholism

Mexican American Males and Alcoholism Drinking alcohol is a behavior that diverse ethnicities
and cultures have adapted as a form of leisure, celebration, socialization, or cultural practice.
Mexican American males have engaged in drinking alcohol for all of these reasons. It is important to
analyze the process of acculturation Mexican American experience and how it affects their ability
to persuade and control their alcohol consumption. The stress of adjusting to a new place than the
one they have been accustomed to and have already been accepted in, can lead males to drink
alcohol to help them in coping with their issues. The gravity of extreme alcohol drinking is also ...

Lastly, access to alcohol in Mexico is not a difficult obstacle to overcome. Therefore, males who
migrated to the U.S. have already been heavily exposed to alcohol. These points are not to prove
that alcoholism among Mexican American men is caused entirely by the exposure of Mexico s
customs, but to outline the different reasons why a male might fall in alcoholism. A male who
migrates to the U.S. or a Mexican American male that has lived most or his entire life in the U.S.
as mentioned before, might engage in excessive drinking because of the pressures of acculturation.
Dealing with the stress of leaving behind natal customs to adapt new values and behaviors can
result heavy alcohol consumption. Even though the Mexican culture has already shaped the
behavior of drinking in males, it is still different from the American drinking behaviors. Mexican
men drink less frequently, but more heavily, while Americans drink more frequently, but not so
heavily (Gilbert and Cervantes 1987). Clearly a combination of both as a form of dealing with
stress can be catastrophic. During the acculturation process the greatest amount of stress can be felt
when the feeling of loneliness starts to settle in. When a male feels he is distanced from his
Mexican culture and life style, but not accepted by the new dominant culture he has been trying to
adapt, he is more susceptive to alcoholism (Zimmerman and Roysircar

Terri Shiavo Case Study
No matter the age, everyone should have a plan for when he or she is comatose and unable to
make decisions. When there is no living will or medical power of attorney assigned for the patient
the spouse and the patient s family may not see eye to eye on how to go about the situation. The
spouse may want to let the patient die and familymay think that the patient will come out of their
comatose state or vice versa. There was a case known as the Terri Shiavo case that occurred
almost eleven years ago. She had no medical power of attorney or living will leaving her life in the

the same.
Terri Shiavo died almost eleven years ago after her feeding tube was removed by the order of

The Star Trek Phenomenon
History of TV
Star Trek The phenomenon that is Star Trek began on September 8, 1966 on NBC. From that
night on, America would forever be different. At a point in time where the cowboys were falling
from the small screen and science fiction was on the rise. However, there has and never been and
will never another be a program as well known as Star Trek. The first time the show aired, it only
saw 3 years before NBC canceled the show, and almost 20 years went past before it re aired in its
new form. The cult following that kept the show alive still drives its success today. Compared to
today s television, something can be said for the quality of Star Trek s production value. Critics
often ridicule the show today, but behind the cheap looking sets and laughable dialogue and
effects, the show was groundbreaking for its time in all different types of ways. It is hard to
believe that cheap plywood sets and basic effects are used in one of the biggest science fiction
shows of all time, but the show was written by highly regarded science fiction authors of the day.
On top of the writers being well prestige, many of its production values, particularly costuming,
were extremely high, despite a relatively small budget a weekly TV series normally sees. Critics
who call the show cheesy ignore the fact that by the standards of the day, Star Trek was quite
ahead of its time, and it effectively raised the bar, something that forced all science fiction

Imagine hiking up a dormant volcano and all of a sudden the volcano starts to rumble What s the
cause? The cause of the volcano occur when an underground chamber overflows creating an
explosion out the top of the volcano. Volcanoes can have effects on the land and its people.
When volcanoes erupt they can have some drastic but beautiful changes to the earth. The author of
the informational article, Russell McDonaugh, states that Depending on the location of the volcano,
it can take thousands of years of weathering for the ash and rock deposits to form a rich soil.
When they do become soils, they are often among the richest soils on earth. Volcanic soils are very
fertile and can help plants grow very fast with the nutrients in the soil. Volcanos are very good for
the land maybe, after a couple thousand years, but sometimes the beauty of the nature is destroyed
by the ongoing building on our world.

Resistance Literature And Resistance In Literature
The social object identified as human, does not have existence or significance without language,
which represents a means of interaction and understanding amongst individuals. The more
complicated human affairs and sensations are, the more transcend the linguistic form used to
express them. Literature is the epitome of language; as it is the language in its most enhanced form
to express the concerns and concepts of man in the most premium styles. Hence, literature is a tool
to express oppression and resistance, as humanitarian issues. Regardless the unreasonable factors
that lead to the presence of oppression among the human race members, oppression occurrence is
intensely bracketed with resistance; as a result. Resistance does not do itself isolated from its
surroundings or disconnected from its circumstances, but attached to its particular situation, which
is the form of oppression caused it. This does not mean it is related to... Show more content on

The term resistance was first applied in the description of Palestinian literature in 1966 by the
Palestinian writer and critic Ghassan Kanafani in his study Literature of Resistance in Occupied
Palestine: 1948 1966. Resistance literature is an expression of rebellion. The two poles of
resistance literature are resistance and oppression. Oppression breeds resistance which means that
resistance is a logical reaction of oppression. Resistance is central to the larger unit in that it is the
essence of the African American experience in the United States.. In the late 19th century American
black people were not equal to the white community. Especially women were facing oppression

Implied Volatilities amp; Volatility Smiles
1. Why does the target cell in the Solver minimization reference the control variate estimate of the
American Put option instead of the value as implied by the tree?
It is because that control variate estimate is more accurate than the implied value by the tree. The
error of the binominal tree can be reduced by using it only to calculate the difference between the
price of the American and the equivalent European options with the same strike and the same time
to maturity.
2. Use Solver to find the implied volatilities for all put options with strike prices between $70 and
$100 that are divisible by 5 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

5. Fix the time to maturity at 365 days. Now vary the strike price as before and also vary the
interest rate between 1.0%, 4.0% and 7.0%. Submit the table and the graph.
6. Describe briefly how the EEP depends on the parameters we varied in this exercise.
From the results we observe that early exercise premium increases at different maturity dates for
the same strike price and when varying strike price with the same maturity date the early exercise
premium increases non linearly in an upward trend. The shift in the trending from options 1, 2, 3
can be explained by the maturity, as maturity increases an American optionis more worthwhile
because more node exist where it is possible for us to exercise early. From the results early
exercise price as a function of strike price, maturity and interest rate, increases when we hold
maturity constant and vary the other two. The shift in trending can be explained by the increase in
interest rates for options 1, 2, 3 respectively. When interest rate is increased the present value of the
underlying drops and the likeliness of the option being in the money increases and therefore the
value of put option increases.

Airport Security Research
Need of better airport security methods
Background
On the morning of September 11th 2001 the United States was attacked by a series of coordinated
terrorist attacks and, as a result, thousands of people died that day. After that event took place, tens
of thousands of people came together to form a new agency called the Transportation Security
Administration, or TSA. Being passed on November 19th 2001, the TSA began taking charge of
the aviation security programs that were run by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), by
training, hiring, and deploying security forces to all of the commercial airports within 12 months
and providing 100 percent screening to all luggage in search for any explosives by December 31,
2002.
Despite the effort to better protect our nations traveling security, the US has had potential terrorist
attacks through our airlines. People were able to bring unauthorized devices through the security
checkpoints, that we thought were reliable, undetected. Research has been done to the scanning
machines we use and they were proven ineffective and our way of using them as well.

Resignation Letter Rhetorical Analysis
To whomever it may concern, Unfortunately for many months I have struggled with the decisions

resignation, and ask to be removed as a member and all other duties that come along with it. I no

I will further explain later in this letter include: standing on gay marriage, boycott of Israeli made

I have always felt a very strong connection to the bible itself and its teachings, and Israel is an
imperative part of the book. While certain decisions that have been made in that area are
questionable, it is one sided to boycott the entire country when a great deal of people have done
nothing wrong and are attempting to make a living for themselves. It is evident that I have
always been very interested in the financials of our church and recently they have bothered me.
It seems we have been frivolously spending money lately, and while it may appear like small
amounts at the time, it all adds up. When financials are as tight as they currently are we must
first worry about keeping the lights on. This was especially evident to me when we decided to
spend money for Pride in the Park combined with the add we purchased. Finally, the recent
decision to have our Saturday worship on the same day as an already existing church activity has
really rubbed me the wrong way. For nearly a decade members of our church have made the
evening meal at Churches United For the Homeless, and I feel it was a poor decision to have our
bimonthly Saturday worships overlap directly with that ministry. It not only takes volunteers away
from Churches but also takes people away from

Allegory Of The Giver By Lois Lowry
Throughout our first few weeks of class we ve gone through the ideas of many different thinkers
and philosophers. Upon further reflection, I would like to touch base more on the Plato s themes

Giver. What I would like to be kept in mind while making our comparison, is my previous
commentary on the Allegory of the Cave from prior class discussions on Plato, The Allegory of
the Cave shows us to not just stare at the known shadows and be satisfied with it, but to look
beyond it to find the truth and real understanding. And Plato s ideas in regards to art as discussed

In Jonas community it is considered High honor to be a Receiver (One who holds memories). They
advise the Committee of Elders in important decisions because with the memories comes knowledge
and wisdom. (Lowry, ) Similarly discussed on Module 1 notes, how art is fine for educational
purposes (Nyman, ) so is memory. The Receiver also serves the secondary purpose of holding the
world s memories which includes knowledge of pain, suffering, and all basic comprehension of
qualities that make us human so the citizens may not burden themselves. This relates back to how
art could corrupt citizens and guardians alike (Richter, ). Memory like art needs to be controlled for
the sake of Sameness or Order .
This lack of wisdom is what forms the blissful, unaware existence that the citizens lead just as
the prisoners in Plato s Allegory of The Cave. They cave being created from lack of wisdom that
comes with Memory. The citizens lack knowledge of the meaning behind deeper feelings,
animals, color, death, and to certain degrees the concept of right or wrong. They only know what
the community wants them to know and they fall in line with precision because that s how it s

Joint Interview Pros And Cons Of Being Childless
Introduction to Results The recruiting phase of the study proved to be quite challenging. Initially
the researcher recruited couples that were childless. As a result, there was reluctance in terms of
participants coming forward to take part in the study. The first couple, who, participated in the
study consisted of a wife who wanted to share her story and a husband who supported her. After
completing the individual interviews, the couple declined to participate in the joint interview. The
couple struggled with being childless and although they found ways to compensate via careers,
education and caretaking of others, the disappointment with being unable to parent was profound.
The wife expressed such strong emotions and shared that discussing her infertility was a deep and
powerful experience for her. Through this interview, the researcher began to understand the
emotional intensity of this topic. It was an insightful and enriching interview experience. Following

The first time I ventured up to Ravens Roost was the weekend before finals week at Governor s

overlooks before reaching Ravens Roost. As we parked at Ravens Roost the sun was just starting to
set, casting its shadow over the mountain. We wrapped up in blankets and sat on the rock retaining
wall, taking in the beauty before us. For whatever reason, the sunset that night was particularly
sunning. As the blazing light from the day was receding it was turning the air around the sun
lovely shades of pink, orange, and violet. As we took in the landscape before us I started pointing
out the landmarks we could make out down in the valley. The buildings of Hollister Inc. and

The Beginning Of Enslavement Of Slavery Essay
The Beginning of Enslavement
After the Thirty Years War, Europe s economy was depressed leaving many laborers without
work. A life in the New World, gave European Immigrants a new sense of hope. Indentured
Servants were people who sold their labor voluntarily in exchange for free passage to the New
World, and given housing upon their arrival. They were willing to enter an agreement to work for
a specified amount of time, nor were considered the property of the contract holder. Alike in certain

Virginia was one of the first states to acknowledge slavery in its laws, to aid the production of
lucrative tobacco crops. In 1670. The law that defined which people could be enslaved declared,
all servants not being Christians imported into this colony by shipping shall be slaves for their
lives. (Norton, Mary Beth. (2015). Initially, slaves were treated as Indentured Servants and given
much freedom until eventually slave laws were passed. When the slave laws were passed this had
seized any freedoms that might have existed for African Americans. The colonies began to reflect
contradictions between Indentured Servants and Slaves. More important, the laws began to
differentiate between races: the association of servitude for natural life with people of African
descent became common. (Law

Theoretical Approaches To Personality Analysis
While reading through chapter eleven of my psychology textbook, I discovered that the four
main theoretical approaches to personality include the psychodymanic approach, the triat
approach, the social congnitive approach, and lastly, the humanistic psychology approach. The
first theory the book establishes is the psychodymanic apporach, also known as Frued s Theory,
states that a person s personality is not due to a specific set of factors but rather that personality
is determined by many factors such as a human s drives for food, sex, aggression, ect., as well as a
person s unconscious processes, and a person s early childhood influences, most specifically a
person s parents or gaurdians. The psychodynamic apporoach states that personality... Show more

This scale, like many others, described my personality on what traits I self described myself as
being. After the conclusion of the personality test, the test described myslef as being a people
person, an open person, and a generally positive person. The test also depicted my weakness as
being to talkitive and too permissive, and my limitation as being failing to follow through on past
commitments and failure with self disipline. I also scored almost equally on the lion personlity
which means that while I am mostly an otter I also have very developed skills in leading. The trait
theory, I believe, is the easist way of desribing a person s personality because you do not have to
look into a person s past to determine why a person s personaity is the way it is but rather the
trait view just observes a person s personality. The trait theory though falls though because it does
not expain why people act the way they do or why they have prejudices. The social cognitive
approach argues that a person s persoanity is learned whether than inherit our personaities. This
follows through with some ideas in gender theory stating that a person s gender traits are also
learned by society than inherited. This also releates to Frued s theory of parent involvment in a
human s personality because a person s parents will be most around a child generally in that child s
early development which allows for that child to generally delevop the traits of their parents and
then hold on to those traits throughout their

How Did Roman Architecture Influence Architecture
It s inconvertible that Roman s legacy can still be felt nowadays in our daily lives and it had an
elegance impact on modern buildings. Romans took architecture to a greater level by creating lots
of masterworks that the purpose from them was to solve problems. Actually, their creativity in
solving particular problems inspired and it s still inspiring modern society. They started with
constructing complicated road system which is connecting all the places and countries to each
other and all of them led you to the capital. In addition to the public places like bathes which were
open to the whole city. Then they started to construct columns, arches, and domes with lots of

development in W.S. in New York City. The Pantheon, a Roman place for worship and the
Catholic capitol St. Peter s Basilica reflected it by using designs and materials from it. Not only
these examples, there is also Trajan s column in Italy, Rome which was a structure built by a
romans and Napoleons column reflected it in France. In addition to The Maison Carree a Roman

Test Administrator Procedures
In the second section, it will outline the specific procedures necessary to give each test, including
procedures specific to ELL students and the teacher s role in the test administration. Each LEA
determines who may give language proficiency tests. It is strongly recommended that LEAs
develop and provide training for all test administrators. Most often, the test administrator must be
ESL certified or endorsed teacher with ESL experience Administrators should ensure that
assessments take place in an appropriate testing environment and that all testing materials be kept
secure. The speaking portion of many of the exams is given one on one. Procedures for
administration and scoring are included in the administration manuals for each test. However, it is

reading and writing sections may be given to a small group. Also, the test administrator will
determine if tester will take the second part of the writing portion of MODEL. They will make this
decision based on how the tester performs on the first portion of the writing assessment. The
writing section may be given to individual students or to a group. The person giving the test ask the
tester questions until the student is no longer answers in a satisfactory manner. At this point, the
person giving the test stop this portion of the test and begin the next. The next section, listening, is
also individually given. During the listening part, after the person who is giving the test reads a

Defendant SARAH MINER (hereinafter Ms. Miner, ) owner, and operator of the Portola complex,
recently denied Plaintiff DARLAWILLIAMS (hereinafter Plaintiff, ) a former tenant, application to
continue leasing at the complex. As such, Plaintiff brought several suits (Exhibit 1) against Ms.
Miner, alleging discrimination as the basis for her denial. The Plaintiff s case against Ms. Miner,
however, is without merits. Plaintiff received several noise complaints (Exhibit 2) throughout her
tenancy, disrupting the peaceful residential community. Moreover, Plaintiff failed to keep her unit
in good condition, resulting in considerable damage to the unit and property.
Although Plaintiff claims Ms. Miner provided bad references to prospective landlords, Ms. Miner
has done nothing of the sort. In fact, policy mandates providing copies of incidental reports, repair
notices and notices of delinquency (unpaid rent) by the tenant; Ms. Miner was simply acting in
compliance. Accordingly, Ms. Miner did not discriminate against the Plaintiff in denying her leasing

The Benefits Of Increasing NASA
Space is a $300 billion industry worldwide, NASA is a tiny percent of that. But that little bit is

Scamming Plan Research Paper
My Scamming Plan Drake had just hired me after I had left ExxonMobil. His dad had lent him
enough money to start a proper company but this was his last chance. He ordered me to find
someplace in the Everglades to drill oil because there was a newspaper saying that the
government had bought the drilling rights for oil. My boss s plan was to find oil in the
everglades and then the government would pay us a lot of money not to pump it. After a few
months, I had gotten a six hundred forty acre lease from someone named Vincent Trapwick Jr. It
was known as Section 21 and I had hired some geologists to see if there was any oil in there. After
months of ground testing, I had come to the conclusion that there was not enough oil in Section 21

I thought he had attacked Melton too so I wanted to get him back anyways. I went to his dad s
house and I agreed that I was a tax collector because he thought I was one. For some reason, he
held my lips with a plier and his bird attacked me. I tried to run but he kept me hostage for a few
minutes. He finally let me go and I ran and took his son s backpack. I bought another butane
torch from one of my favorite hardware stores. I then put in in his bag and put it near a fire.
Then, I said I found the backpack and reported it to the fire investigators. Even though I had
gotten that taken care of, I still had a few more problems popping up everywhere. A few months
later, some of my pipes went missing so I got very angry. Even worse, Melton had been assaulted
again and the flags that marked where the pipes would be had been rearranged to spell the word
SCAT. Drake and I were getting very very annoyed. We decided to hire someone or get
something to track whoever was doing this to us. We were in luck. We found a dog handler who
had a dog named Horace who was a trained manhunter. Horace sniffed the flags and looked like
he was on a trail. He ran away from us and the handler shouted his name. We reported the bad news

Child Custody Rules Essay
The beginning of the fall semester can be a difficult time for co parenting families, especially with
regard to child custody. The transition from summer vacation to school can present a variety of
issues, as parents must readjust their schedules to accommodate for various obligations imposed by
the new school year. To avoid conflict and ensure a stress free segue, it is important that co parents
re examine and update their child custody arrangements. Below, the familylaw attorneys at Coyne,
Cundiff Hillemann, P.C. in Lake St. Louis, MO offer three back to school child custody tips to help
you through the transition.
Consistency is Key
Children thrive with consistency. Begin by referring to last year s school schedule. Most custody

If possible, try to avoid a schedule that changes week to week. Sit down with your co parent and
attempt to create a simple, consistent schedule to carry your family through the school year.
Be Flexible
Schedule conflicts will happen. In addition to school schedules, co parents must now accommodate
for recitals, football practice, field trips, and other school related functions. The more flexible you
are with visitation, the easier it will be on the entire family. Make a point to plan out events ahead
of time, substituting visitation times when necessary. Sitting in for your co parent on occasion can
benefit you greatly, should you run into your own schedule conflict(s) down the road.
Plan Ahead
The school year is riddled with parent teacher conferences, PTA meetings, and various holidays.
Planning ahead will help you and your co parent avoid unnecessary turmoil while ensuring that
your child s needs are met. If you want to take your child away for the holidays, be sure to
discuss your plans with your co parent far in advance. Consider maintaining a shared calendar to
ensure everyone is on the same page. Should your child be involved in an emergency situation or
require assistance, each party will know who to

Ancient India Vs. Ancient China Essay
Ancient India vs. Ancient China Early Indian and Chinese civilizations were very advanced for
their times. For example some areas of the Indus Valley had sewer systems while the Chinese
mastered the art of spinning Silk. The first modern humans in China date back 50,000 years. Their
populations today outnumber any country to date, which can be linked to their rich heritage dating
back thousands of years. The early people of the Indus Valley were seen as the first civilizationof
Indiabeginning around 3200 B.C.E. and lasted until the Indo Aryans came at around 1600 B.C.E...
Judging by the varying qualities of the homes discovered, they had a class system of some sort.
They also had an economy consisting of agriculture and domestic animals. And, as mentioned
before, they even had sewer systems in the more populated areas. Once the Indo Aryans came, the
culture of the Indus Valley people became intertwined in the new ideas of these new people.
The Indo Aryans brought with them an economy dependent on cattle. Other animals like sheep,
goats, and horses were also valued. Grains such as barley were grown as well. They also had
musical instruments, including flutes, drums and cymbals. Their government consisted of a Raja,
or king, of certain areas. The Raja mainly protected the people, taking on the responsibility of
defending his land. The gods were called Devas, similar to the Greek gods, and were used as
personifications of natural forces. One deity was called Indra, who

UNIT 1 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT MGT 485 0903B 03 GLOBAL STRATEGIC
MANAGEMENT ALFRED SIU AUGUST 30, 2009 BY: TINA RAULERSON The most
concerning threat USPS faces is the rise in operating expenses, particularly the increase in
energy prices and health insurance premiums. Energy prices are at all time highs. With USPS
dependency in both, air and ground transportation, energy prices will play a major role in the
company s budget. USPS is part of the Federal Employee Health Benefit program and premiums
for these benefits have steadily increased over the last couple of years. For example, premiums
increased in 2003 by 11.1%. Health benefit payments increased 14% in 2003 from 2002, and by
15.8% in 2004 from 2003 levels.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Long Term Action Plan USPS should gradually replace their aging delivery vehicles with hybrid
or electric vehicles to reduce delivery costs and dependency on gas. A hybrid vehicle not only saves
the Postal Service 32 40% on fuel costs (roughly $1200/car/year based on 30k miles), depending
on the vehicle, but USPS would also receive a $3,000 tax incentive on every vehicle. In cities,
electric vehicles or SMART cars could be used since delivery routes are shorter with frequent
stops. Aside from being fuel efficient, they adhere to the ever stricter emissions rules. With well
over 200,000 postal vehicles currently in the system, savings would approach the $1billion mark.
Since USPS has monopoly in Standard Mail, prices in this sector should be raised while prices in
the package delivery sector should be lowered, albeit marginally, in order to attract higher
market share. A raise in first class postage of a little over 8% to $.40 is presently being reviewed.
Higher revenues would result from the newly raised prices in the monopolized Standard Mail
market, while higher volume sales from the package delivery segment would boost revenues.
USPS should first appeal to the US government to leave the Federal Employee Health Benefit
program. Then, USPS should research other health plans that are more cost efficient, whether it be
a new carrier in the private sector, a change in benefits coverage or alter the level of an employees
contribution to

The Little Known Victims of the Holocaust Essay
The Little Known Victims of the Holocaust Many people look back on the Holocaust today and
realize that so many abysmal and hideous things happened. The genocide of the Jews is known
but what may be less well documented is Hitler s design to eradicate all groups other than the
blue eyed, fair haired Aryans. So many of them were forgotten and just pushed in with the major
race of the Jews, who were said to be unworthy of life. The people were not ready, nor expecting to
be forced into such an egregious state of being. Adolf Hitlerexcruciatingly persecuted every race
that he thought was unsuitable for his dream of a Master Race. On September 1, 1939, Hitler
began the start of World War II. He decided that he wanted to build what he

Hitler thought that they were the only children of God and the Jews and other non German
races were here only to be once removed; they were an undeserving race to be on Earth
(Berenbaum 68). Every victim of the Holocaust was under the category of The Untermenschen ,
which meant that they were not considered human and were treated horrendously. The Slavs,
Poles, Gypsies, German homosexuals, Blacks, and the Communists were killed. Even the
disabled and every one with incurable illnesses were Untermenschen as far as Hitler was
concerned. The major race, besides the Jews, that was to be eliminated completely was the
Romanian Gypsies (Friedman 7). No one of that race was allowed to live. From the ages zero to
one hundred, absolutely no one was to remain alive. In the beginning, the Gypsies were treated
poorly and their talent and success became a major threat to all the local people. It was then that
Hitler decided they were not to be around anymore. They were all considered like second class
citizens if not more poorly. The Nazi s were even told to experiment on them to try to prove that
the Gypsies were somehow of different blood and not like that of the Master Race. A perverse
man, Dr, Mengele, did shocking and appalling experiments on people and he was especially

The Wounded Warrior Project ( Wwp )
In 2003, John Melia started The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) as a basement operation that
donated backpacks full of goods to wounded warriors. Not long after their inception, Melia hired
a few employees including future CEO of WWP Steven Nardizzi. Together they began raising
millions of dollars and broadening their services for veterans. By 2009 the company had grown to
over 50 employees and $ 21 millionin revenue. This was when Nardizzi wanted to get more
aggressive with marketing and expansion; which is where Melia and Nardizzi differed. Melia felt
he lost control of his organization and in turn resigned.
Since Nardizzi took over as CEO, WWP has become one of the largest veteran charities to date,
taking in nearly $372 million in donations in 2015. This rapid rise in capital derived from new
management, aggressive fundraising styles, and strategic marketing tactics. Many former and
current employees, veterans, and donors began to wonder whether the mission of WWP had
transitioned from helping veterans to profiting millions and building a brand. Either way the
organization was more successful than it had ever been; now they had all the capital they needed to
make even more of difference within the wounded warrior committee.
In June of 2015 a group of former and current employees led by Erick Millette (a prior speaker for
WWP whose opinion was heavily relied on when allegations were expressed) approached CBS

When Worlds Collide Essay
In the film When Worlds Collide , the answer to the question How did the American Indigenous
populations impact Spain (and vice versa)? was focused on the changes in wealth, class systems,
and the Spanish conquistadors intentions. The first topic covered in the film is how today s
America and today s world are heavily influenced by the culture, heritage, and history of the Mestizo
race and their Spanish counterparts. The video then explains that the Mestizo race came into
existence after the Spaniards had children with the Natives of the New World . Next, the film
highlights the differences between the cultures of the Spanish and the native indigenous peoples of
Mesoamerica. One of the differences between the two cultures was that the Mesoamericans had a

Spanish and the Africans inability to brave the harsh terrain, despite the previous laws that forbode
the Spanish from using the natives as slave laborers. Unfortunately for the lower classes of natives,

Speed of a Projectile Propelled by a Solenoid
Student: Octavio Alonso Cuesta De La Rosa
Consultant: Evan Simmers
Supervising teacher: Kent Hogan
Assessor:
Write your aim, need or opportunity, with an explanation of why it was worth achieving:
My aim was to calculate the velocity of a ferrous projectile propelled by a solenoid.
Originally I planned to build my own coil gun and use it for testing, but as time grew shorter and
hardly any progress was made on the project, Mr. Hogan suggested I use the coil gun my
consultant had left behind in the schools store room. Although I disputed the idea at first, the more
I argued the more Mr. Hogan s idea made sense.
Executive summary:
Introduction:
There was no real need to carry out this project. It started off as one of several suggestions made
to my teacher Kent Hogan. From my point of view this particular suggestion was nothing more
than a joke especially considering where I got it from, but from Mr Hogan s perspective this
suggestion was the most feasible and had the most potential.
I m not forcing anyone to pay serious attention to this project. There are likely far better ones out
there that talk about coil guns. However, if you want to know how fast a rudimentary contraption
can propel a ferrous projectile by briefly generating a strong magnetic field it will benefit you to

Nurturing Donor Analysis
Nurturing Donors Organizations must view their potential donors as people instead of a potential
donation. Organizations must effectively and efficiently collect and organize data about each
potential donor in order to tailor strategies and techniques that encourage and persuade the
individual to support their cause (Weinstein, 2013, p. 110). Organizations must listen carefully to
the desires of the potential donor and use this information to create an appeal for support. Once this
information is collected it should be documented using fundraising software or an Excel
spreadsheet (Weinstein, 2013, p. 73). Although data collection and organizational systems are great,
they are useless if the organization does not use the information to request support from unique
donors (Weinstein, 2013, p. 111).

important the person that has a previous relationship with the potential donor is the one that seeks
their support (Weinstein 2013, p. 105). It is important that the request for support is done in

p. 66). The athletic director should also invite a wealthy donor or potential donor out to lunch.
This informal lunch is also a great way to build a relationship that can last for years to come

  • 2. Monica ` S Presence In Augustine s Life Monica s presence in the spiritual life of Augustine poignantly reveals the profundity of love shared between a mother and her son. In the nine books in which she is mentioned, Monica makes significant decisions that have a substantive impact on Augustine s early life. Despite being a devout Catholic, Monica chooses to delay the baptism of her son until later in life. While this would be unusual for a contemporary member of the Catholic church, Monica believed it was in the best interest of Augustine to defer his baptism, allowing him to purge himself of his sinful and ungodly desires present during his youth with baptism received at an older age. As such, Monica minimizes the accumulation of sin that Augustine may commit after his baptism, thus allowing him to be to be judged more warmly by Godafter his death.... Early on, Augustine is unsure of the validity of his mother s decision, considering her to have failed in her role, as he believed he would be less sinful if baptized at a younger age, eliminating the ritual s absence as an excuse for him to continue committing sin. Augustine s blaming Monica for not leading him on the correct spiritual path, proliferates as he grows older as he deplores her apparent lack of effort in restraining his sexual desires. He laments, ...although she had warned me to guard my virginity...she did not seek to restrain my sexual drive within the limit of the marriage bond (pg. 28). However, Augustine s sentiment that his mother did not put forth great enough effort to restrict his desire slowly dissipates, as he struggles on the path to salvation. Augustine begins to recognize the significant role Monica played in his conversion, emphasizing the role she played as both a physical mother and spiritual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The R V. Dudley And Stephens Case Essay The R v. Dudley and Stephens case occurred in 1884. In May of that year, four men left Southampton, England for Australia on the Mignonette, a private sailing yacht. These men were Captain Thomas Dudley (31), mate Edward Stephens (36), seaman Edmond Brooks (38), and cabin boy Richard Parker (17). While crossing the South Atlantic near the Cape of Good Hope in July, bad weather struck the yacht and it sunk. The men managed to escape into the lifeboat, and two one pound tins of turnips were the only food they subsisted on for four days. They caught a small turtle on the fourth day that lasted eight days, and were without food for another eight days after. The only fresh water they had was the rain that came from time to time. On the sixteenth day of drifting Richard Parker became ill from drinking seawater. On the eighteenth day Dudley and Stephens approached Brooks with the idea that they should sacrifice one person to save the rest. Brooks dissented, and they did not consult Parker as he was ill. On July 24th Dudley and Stephens reasoned with Brooks, saying that since they had families to take care of it was most logical to kill the boy and save themselves. They proposed that if there were no vessels in sight the next day they would kill Parker. As there were no vessels, Dudley killed Parker by slitting his throat; the boy was so ill he did not resist. Brooks dissented until Parker s death, but also fed on the blood and flesh of Parker with the two accused for four days. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The aim was to identify and incorporate key educational elements to achieve desired global health education outcomes. In his speech The Perils of Indifference , Wiesel opened up about his past and how it made him realize how important it is to stand up against crimes against humanity. He also discussed the state of the American people and compared their involvement in foreign intervention back to the lack of intervention in World War II. Wiesel motivated America with his emphasis on the emotional, logical, and ethical impacts of indifference. Perhaps the most influential piece of Wiesel s speech was his inclusion of unique personal narrative. His touching story of his youth spent in a concentration camp gave weight to his points on indifference as he recalled that Fifty four years ago to the day, a young Jewish boy from a small town in the Carpathian Mountains woke up...in a place of eternal infamy called Buchenwald (Wiesel). With no property to their name and no individual rights, they marched to Buchenwald where his father later died before they could both escape ( Wiesel, Elie ). The reality of these past horrors gave him a strong sense of credibility as he spoke on about the time when he was oppressed and victimized. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Nursing Sensitive Indicators Are Defined By The American... Nursing sensitive indicators are defined by the American Nursing Association (ANA) as indicators that reflect the structure, process and outcomes of nursing care (ANA, 2014). These indicators help define how nursing care is given by measuring the amount of nursing staff, skill level of the nursing staff, and the education level of nursing staff. These indicators depict the quality of care provided to patients and the outcomes of the care provided. Careful tracking of these indicators provides evidence for keeping current practices or for implementing new policy and procedures. A formal set of indicators measuring the impact nursing interventions have on patient care was not implemented until 1998 (Montalvo, I. (2007). With the establishment of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), hospitals and other care settings are able to assess how nursing interventions impact patient outcomes, quality of care, and the overall work environment in health care facilities. Nursing sensitive indicators are a quality improvement measure used to determine how the quality of nursing care is evaluated in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Nurse sensitive indicators allow healthcare facilities to evaluate how the care they are providing is following evidence based practices and how they can improve their practices to achieve better patient outcomes. Therefore, males who migrated to the U.S. have already been heavily exposed to alcohol. These points are not to prove that alcoholism among Mexican American men is caused entirely by the exposure of Mexico s customs, but to outline the different reasons why a male might fall in alcoholism. A male who migrates to the U.S. or a Mexican American male that has lived most or his entire life in the U.S. as mentioned before, might engage in excessive drinking because of the pressures of acculturation. Dealing with the stress of leaving behind natal customs to adapt new values and behaviors can result heavy alcohol consumption. Even though the Mexican culture has already shaped the behavior of drinking in males, it is still different from the American drinking behaviors. Mexican men drink less frequently, but more heavily, while Americans drink more frequently, but not so heavily (Gilbert and Cervantes 1987). Clearly a combination of both as a form of dealing with stress can be catastrophic. During the acculturation process the greatest amount of stress can be felt when the feeling of loneliness starts to settle in. It is hard to believe that cheap plywood sets and basic effects are used in one of the biggest science fiction shows of all time, but the show was written by highly regarded science fiction authors of the day. Looking to the right Ravens Roost overlooks the Shenandoah Valley, the most distinguishable areas being Stuarts Draft. Ravens Roost holds a significant place in my heart, soul, and brain and continues to amaze me with its beauty time after time. The first time I ventured up to Ravens Roost was the weekend before finals week at Governor s school in late April. I was stressing out over all of the things I had going on in the coming days when my friends suggested we take a trip up on the mountain. We were not sure where we would end up. We were searching for a perfect spot to watch the sunset and stopped at three or four other overlooks before reaching Ravens Roost. As we parked at Ravens Roost the sun was just starting to set, casting its shadow over the mountain. We wrapped up in blankets and sat on the rock retaining wall, taking in the beauty before us. For whatever reason, the sunset that night was particularly sunning. As the blazing light from the day was receding it was turning the air around the sun lovely shades of pink, orange, and violet. As we took in the landscape before us I started pointing out the landmarks we could make out down in the valley. The buildings of Hollister Inc. and Hershey stood out from the ... A life in the New World, gave European Immigrants a new sense of hope. They were willing to enter an agreement to work for a specified amount of time, nor were considered the property of the contract holder. The law that defined which people could be enslaved declared, all servants not being Christians imported into this colony by shipping shall be slaves for their lives. (Norton, Mary Beth. (2015). Initially, slaves were treated as Indentured Servants and given much freedom until eventually slave laws were passed. When the slave laws were passed this had seized any freedoms that might have existed for African Americans. The colonies began to reflect contradictions between Indentured Servants and Slaves. More important, the laws began to differentiate between races: the association of servitude for natural life with people of African descent became common. (Law ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theoretical Approaches To Personality Analysis While reading through chapter eleven of my psychology textbook, I discovered that the four main theoretical approaches to personality include the psychodymanic approach, the triat approach, the social congnitive approach, and lastly, the humanistic psychology approach. The first theory the book establishes is the psychodymanic apporach, also known as Frued s Theory, states that a person s personality is not due to a specific set of factors but rather that personality is determined by many factors such as a human s drives for food, sex, aggression, ect., as well as a person s unconscious processes, and a person s early childhood influences, most specifically a person s parents or gaurdians. After the conclusion of the personality test, the test described myslef as being a people person, an open person, and a generally positive person. I also scored almost equally on the lion personlity which means that while I am mostly an otter I also have very developed skills in leading. The trait theory, I believe, is the easist way of desribing a person s personality because you do not have to look into a person s past to determine why a person s personaity is the way it is but rather the trait view just observes a person s personality. The trait theory though falls though because it does not expain why people act the way they do or why they have prejudices. The social cognitive approach argues that a person s persoanity is learned whether than inherit our personaities. This follows through with some ideas in gender theory stating that a person s gender traits are also learned by society than inherited. This also releates to Frued s theory of parent involvment in a human s personality because a person s parents will be most around a child generally in that child s early development which allows for that child to generally delevop the traits of their parents and then hold on to those traits throughout their ... Energy prices are at all time highs. With USPS dependency in both, air and ground transportation, energy prices will play a major role in the company s budget. USPS is part of the Federal Employee Health Benefit program and premiums for these benefits have steadily increased over the last couple of years. For example, premiums increased in 2003 by 11.1%. Long Term Action Plan USPS should gradually replace their aging delivery vehicles with hybrid or electric vehicles to reduce delivery costs and dependency on gas. A hybrid vehicle not only saves the Postal Service 32 40% on fuel costs (roughly $1200/car/year based on 30k miles), depending on the vehicle, but USPS would also receive a $3,000 tax incentive on every vehicle. In cities, electric vehicles or SMART cars could be used since delivery routes are shorter with frequent stops. Aside from being fuel efficient, they adhere to the ever stricter emissions rules. With well over 200,000 postal vehicles currently in the system, savings would approach the $1billion mark. Since USPS has monopoly in Standard Mail, prices in this sector should be raised while prices in the package delivery sector should be lowered, albeit marginally, in order to attract higher market share. A raise in first class postage of a little over 8% to $.40 is presently being reviewed. Higher revenues would result from the newly raised prices in the monopolized Standard Mail market, while higher volume sales from the package delivery segment would boost revenues. From the ages zero to one hundred, absolutely no one was to remain alive. In the beginning, the Gypsies were treated poorly and their talent and success became a major threat to all the local people. It was then that Hitler decided they were not to be around anymore. They were all considered like second class citizens if not more poorly. The Nazi s were even told to experiment on them to try to prove that the Gypsies were somehow of different blood and not like that of the Master Race. A perverse man, Dr, Mengele, did shocking and appalling experiments on people and he was especially interested in experiments on twins. Despite the fact that a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. The Wounded Warrior Project ( Wwp ) In 2003, John Melia started The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) as a basement operation that donated backpacks full of goods to wounded warriors. Not long after their inception, Melia hired a few employees including future CEO of WWP Steven Nardizzi. Together they began raising millions of dollars and broadening their services for veterans. By 2009 the company had grown to over 50 employees and $ 21 millionin revenue. This was when Nardizzi wanted to get more aggressive with marketing and expansion; which is where Melia and Nardizzi differed. Melia felt he lost control of his organization and in turn resigned. Since Nardizzi took over as CEO, WWP has become one of the largest veteran charities to date, taking in nearly $372 million in donations in 2015. This rapid rise in capital derived from new management, aggressive fundraising styles, and strategic marketing tactics. Many former and current employees, veterans, and donors began to wonder whether the mission of WWP had transitioned from helping veterans to profiting millions and building a brand. Either way the organization was more successful than it had ever been; now they had all the capital they needed to make even more of difference within the wounded warrior committee. In June of 2015 a group of former and current employees led by Erick Millette (a prior speaker for WWP whose opinion was heavily relied on when allegations were expressed) approached CBS News and the New York Timesto ... The use of pizzicato in Urban s free rhythm in Walkin the Country was amazing. The harmony in Just Some Love creates a consonance. Urban played guitar on a few other artists tracks as well. The Ranch was such a unique band because it brought a raw taste and was more suggestive to Australian pub rock than to Nashville s country ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. When Worlds Collide Essay In the film When Worlds Collide , the answer to the question How did the American Indigenous populations impact Spain (and vice versa)? was focused on the changes in wealth, class systems, and the Spanish conquistadors intentions. The first topic covered in the film is how today s America and today s world are heavily influenced by the culture, heritage, and history of the Mestizo race and their Spanish counterparts. The video then explains that the Mestizo race came into existence after the Spaniards had children with the Natives of the New World . Next, the film highlights the differences between the cultures of the Spanish and the native indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica. One of the differences between the two cultures was that the Mesoamericans had a close relationship with nature, and it was that relationship that enabled them to discover things like the... Queen Isabella of Spain had intended for her men to convert the natives patiently, and she wished for them to be treated well, however, the opportunity for wealth and power that overtook the holy mission of the Spaniards. A few Spanish scholars kept written accounts of the injustices that the natives came to suffer under the rule of the Spaniards, and the written pleas for the Spanish monarchs to enact laws to protect the natives went through, but were ignored by new Spanish royalty years later. This was the case for the mining of the silver mines, because the Spanish ruler (at the time of the discovery of the mines), decided that the natives would have to mine due to the Spanish and the Africans inability to brave the harsh terrain, despite the previous laws that forbode the Spanish from using the natives as slave laborers. Unfortunately for the lower classes of natives, the Spaniards did get their silver and the riches, connections, and reputations that went with the acquisition of such ... • 54. Speed Of A Projectile Propelled By A Solenoid Speed of a Projectile Propelled by a Solenoid Student: Octavio Alonso Cuesta De La Rosa Consultant: Evan Simmers Supervising teacher: Kent Hogan Assessor: Write your aim, need or opportunity, with an explanation of why it was worth achieving: My aim was to calculate the velocity of a ferrous projectile propelled by a solenoid. Originally I planned to build my own coil gun and use it for testing, but as time grew shorter and hardly any progress was made on the project, Mr. Hogan suggested I use the coil gun my consultant had left behind in the schools store room. Although I disputed the idea at first, the more I argued the more Mr. Hogan s idea made sense. Executive summary: Introduction: There was no real need to carry out this project. It started off as one of several suggestions made to my teacher Kent Hogan. From my point of view this particular suggestion was nothing more than a joke especially considering where I got it from, but from Mr Hogan s perspective this suggestion was the most feasible and had the most potential. I m not forcing anyone to pay serious attention to this project. There are likely far better ones out there that talk about coil guns. However, if you want to know how fast a rudimentary contraption can propel a ferrous projectile by briefly generating a strong magnetic field it will benefit you to keep reading. Also the presentation was a lie well, maybe not an outright lie but the results in the presentation were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Nurturing Donor Analysis Nurturing Donors Organizations must view their potential donors as people instead of a potential donation. Organizations must effectively and efficiently collect and organize data about each potential donor in order to tailor strategies and techniques that encourage and persuade the individual to support their cause (Weinstein, 2013, p. 110). Organizations must listen carefully to the desires of the potential donor and use this information to create an appeal for support. Once this information is collected it should be documented using fundraising software or an Excel spreadsheet (Weinstein, 2013, p. 73). Although data collection and organizational systems are great, they are useless if the organization does not use the information to request support from unique donors (Weinstein, 2013, p. 111). Alumni Rockford Lutheran must nurture relationships with its alumni. These constituents have a close relationship with the organization and the majority of alumni continue to have personal relationships with coaches, teachers, and former students. Rockford Lutheran must identify prosperous individuals who have a personal relationship with someone connected to the athletic department (Weinstein, 2013, p. 97). Building a relationship with these individuals is important because they have the potential to make a substantial donation. It is important the person that has a previous relationship with the potential donor is the one that seeks their support (Weinstein 2013, p. 105). It is important that the request for support is done in person and that the solicitor is well prepared with a personalized case statement (Weinstein, 2013, p. 66). The athletic director should also invite a wealthy donor or potential donor out to lunch. This informal lunch is also a great way to build a relationship that can last for years to come (Weinstein, 2013, p. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
