Margaret Sanger s Life And Life
Margaret Sanger was born in Corning, New York on September 14, 1879 [3] as Margaret Louise
Higgins. [1] Her father, Michael Higgins, originally studied phrenology and other medical
practices, but eventually moved to being a stone cutter. Her mother, Anne Higgins, was born in
Ireland, and her family moved to Canada during the Potato Famine. In 1869 Michael married
Anne and she went through 18 pregnancies, only 11 of which lived. [3] Margaret was the sixth
child in this long line and spent her time doing chores and looking after the younger children.
Her older two older sisters supported her when she started attending school at Claverack College
and Hudson River Institute. [2] When her mother was 50 years old, she passed away and
Margaret blamed her mother s frequent childbearing and poverty for her death. At the age of 21,
Margaret started taking classes at the White Plains Hospital as a nurse probationer. Not even
two years later, in 1902, she married William Sanger and quit her schooling. Later in 1913,
Margaret and William filed for divorce but it wasn t finalized until 1921. [13] She went on to
marry Noah Slee in 1922. After having 3 children, she and her family took up residence in New
York city, with her as a visiting nurse and her husband an architect and house painter. She joined
the Women s Committee of the New York Socialist party, as well as actions of the Industrial
Workers of the World (including the 1912 Lawrence Textile Strike and the 1913 Paterson

The Disrespects Of Standing Up For Hawaiian Culture
We wouldnК»t disrespect our Kupuna by standing for the very song that took away their land and
all their mana, KaК»ipu Baker explained. Although some people think standing up for our
ancestors is disrespectful there is the reason to why we stand up for them. Think about it, would
you stand up for your own culture if someone took it away from you? That is exactly what Winona
Beamer, Graduates from Kamehameha KapДЃlama schools and Eddie Pu decided to do. Even
though there are many disagreements towards us as Hawaiians. Being a Hawaiian means standing
up for your culture and our Kupunas.
Standing up for Hawaiian Culture is not easy but a lady named Winona Beamer did what she
thought was right when she felt her culture got ripped away from her. Winona decided to Chant
in front of her elders in the school because she knew it wasnК»t right that she couldnК»t chant or
speak Hawaiian in a Hawaiian school. Due to her actions, she was expelled from the school from
the principal the next day. In her words this is how she felt, I wanted to see the will. I begged to
see the will. I couldnК»t believe the princess (Bernice Pauahi Bishop) would say no Hawaiian
spoken, no chanting, no dancing. I couldnК»t believe a Hawaiian Princess would say that. (pg.99)
Winona Beamer. There are many of us who would just leave the school but Winona Beamer stood
up for herself because she knew it wasnК»t right that she couldnК»t be Hawaiian in a Hawaiian
school. Bernice Pauahi Bishop made this school make good

The relation of Malaysia and Philippines has encountered a number of difficulties. However,

Examples Of Structuralist Film Theory
B. Theories From a different angle of view, the ultimate aim of culture/media theories is to provide
theoretical/academic foundation to different genres within art and media. Likewise, there are
several film theories aiming to provide theoretical framework to different genres within motion
picture. Besides, these theories help to perceive the relationship between other genres within art and
Hollywood movies.
Structuralist Film Theory One can easily identify that this theory is interconnected with
structuralism, especially related to structural linguistics. This theory claims that directors basically
make use of different codes to construct meaning. For instance, different scenes are combined into
a single story with the help of editing. If editing is not done, the viewers cannot perceive the
directors codes or ideas. But in Hollywood films, utmost importance is given to editing because the
directors know that editing can provide spontaneity to their films as a whole.
Post structuralist Film Theory One can see that Post structuralism is basically an extension of
structuralism, but with differences. For instance, a viewer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The films produced during this time period provided ample importance to group activities related to
Marxism. For instance, films produced under Marxist influence provided ample importance to
working class struggles and related class wars. So, one can see that Marxist Film Theory tries to
explore the scope of group mentality, providing less importance to individual heroism. On the
other side, corporate overtone can be seen in Hollywood movies, which is totally against Marxist
ideology. Still, some traces of Marxism can be seen in the movies by Hollywood directors like
James Cameron. In short, Marxist Film Theory attempts to evaluate the scope of motion picture
from Marxist view

scene the protagonist receives a gift from Mr. Thatcher wishing him a merry
Christmas. And cuts directly to a happy new year, some ten years later.
Suggesting conveniently, the lack of a meaningful childhood. This editing
technique carries the viewer quickly through time, to the beginning of Charles
idealism. The films plot is separated into flashbacks of the important people in
Kane s life. Each flashback is in sequence with the events of his life. The
nature of each flashback is consistent with the narrators opinion. The first
flashback is that of Mr. Thatcher s. He was the only person involved in Charles
pre adult life. Although not greatly involved, his presence is purely in the
area of financial aspects. Bernstein s flashback focuses on a very positive and
successful part of Kane s life. Which is concordant to Bernstein s idolization
of Charles. Jed Leiland s flashback is centered on Kane s downfall, and so on.
Throughout these recollections we slowly gather evidence with which to judge
Kane. This evidence along with the cinematic techniques used, create a perfectly
clear perception of the character s inner conflicts. The first occurrence
Charles selfish pride is depicted in a group of cuts with his new wife Emily.
The first shot is of Emily being complimented by the charming young Kane. The
lighting in the seen is focused on her and she looks

Obama Care Health Crisis
There have been many deaths going on around the United States and it has been caused by
people s health. Your health should be the main thing you are concerned about so if you haven t

according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We become so involved in buying
fast foods when it is not good for the health. A serious illness can lead to financial ruin if you do
not have insurance. For those who do not have insurance can get Obamacare. It is the same as

Some doctors would rather treat the multitude with policy and wealthy than people without.
According to fragmentation issues in the health care system, nearly 50% of wellness aid outlay
in the U.S. is publicly funded by Fed, State, and county floor governments through various
entitlement programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Veterans Administration (VA). The
result is a compartmentalized and fragmented system. This is also true in the buck private health
care sector, with over 1500 health insurers handling the private insurance market place, each
offering unique health policies that have different deductibles. Some people should take health
care more serious and take time out now to fix their problems. They may not think that nothing

your life. Take your life serious because the world we live in now is weird and many deaths
come from health problems. Take care of your health, go see a doctor and don t refuse medical
attention where you need it the most because a healthier body is a healthier you. The costs of

Culturally Responsive Literature and the Role of Technology in Improved Literacy Instruction
Moira Moynihan
Lipscomb University
In the quest to make education a more equitable, empowering force for all scholars, irrespective of
racial and demographic background, no fight garners as much urgency as that to close the literacy
gap. Whereas science, social studies, or math may or may not enter the daily discourse of a
wealthy family as it raises its child, reading will unquestionably monopolize a statistically
significant portion of child rearing time. Betty Hart and Todd R Risley outline the devastating
scale of this schism in their work The Early Catastrophe: The 30 Million Word Gap by Age 3, which

Marx s 1858 Grundrisse divides value into two distinct categories: use and exchange. Use value
refers to the utilitarian value garnered from something, whereas exchange value places monetary
value onto certain objects within a fiat currency system assuming there is no inherent worth in
something. The biggest argument against culturally responsive teaching within literacy comes from
a perceived lack of exchange value. True a capitalistic, patriarchal, white supremacist society does
not place substantial, if any, market value onto texts missing from the constructed Western Canon.
If education seeks to truly empower students, teachers must equip students with skills and
knowledge that has market exchange value. However, I argue that because culturally responsive
texts are a more effective way to build reading capacity, the loss of market exchange value is
dwarfed by the augmented use value that comes from being a strong, analytical reader. I will also
conceded that viewing literature through a class based lens exclusively diminishes the holistic
construction of literary worth, and I would argue for non economic benefits stemming from
reading, some of which exist simply as expanded thought processes. However, so long as a
dominant lens through which readers can be ability grouped is socio economic status, the economic
ramifications of reading cannot be

Adipic Acid
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1. HISTORY AND GENERAL INFORMATION ON ADIPIC
ACID 1. History on The Production Adipic acid is an important organic chemical raw material.
In China, it is used as raw material in the production of Nylon 6/6 salt, polyurethane, plasticizers,
high grade lubricants and food additives. With the rapid growth of development, the application
of adipic acid keeps expanding. The production of adipic acid is controlled in the hands of
multinationals. An American chemical company (DuPont) is the biggest supplier in the world. On

Currently in Malaysia, it is not producing or manufacturing any adipic acid but they only become
the supplier for the local industries. For this matter, Malaysia should build at least one
manufacturer plant of adipic acid to decrease the import of the adipic acid from other countries.
There are not many adipic acid plants in the world and therefore local manufacturer should grab
this opportunity and not just depending on outside sources. This would make Malaysia one of
the largest productions of adipic acid in the world. 2. General Description Generally, adipic acid
has a structure of Carbon 6 straight chain with two carboxylic acid ( COOH) groups. Due to its
long aliphatic chain, it is slightly soluble in water, alcohol and acetone. Adipic acid can also be
called as 1,4 butanedicarboxylic acid, 1,6 hexanedioic acid, adipinic acid, acifloctin, acinetten,
octafluorohexanedioic acid as well as hexanedioic acid. It is expected to have a chemical
formula of C6H10O4 and a structural formula of HOOC(CH2)4COOH with a total molecular
weight of 146.14 gmol 1. Figure 1.2 is the structures of adipic acid: Figure 1.2: Molecular

The Adventurer s Guild in Albatross is a small building due to the small size of the settlement it s

location and relative lack of natural resources. In fact the primary reason why there s a Adventurer

filled with monsters and demihumans. Despite the incompetent adventurers who live in Albatross,
Albatross could theoretically turn into a wealthy location if skilled adventurers appeared who could

Comparing Three Chaplin Movies Essay
After seeing three Chaplin films at this point in chronological order it is not hard to notice the
extreme difference from the film City Lights to Chaplin s earlier films Mabel s Predicament and
The Pawnshop . In terms of cinematography it is real easy to see the differences in these films. To
begin the cinematography is different in that in the first two films most of the shots are wide
shots and with very minimal cuts. Also the lengths of the first two films are very short Mabel s
Predicament is only 11 minutes long and The Pawnshop is 29 minutes long. The lack of cuts and
the shorter runtime of the films indicate already it is of a shorter budget because the films were
limited in terms of how much they could film. When comparing City Lights it actually is shot like

City Lights in this case advances in story in comparison to the other Chaplin films. This is done
through a full length story that also has side characters and side stories woven in seamlessly.
Previously in the other films the focus was primarily on the Tramp and only the Tramp. However,
in City Lights we focused on the Tramp, The Blind Women, and the Rich Entrepreneur allowing
for a more full length feature film with different cohesive stories. In Ewen s article City Lights:
Immigrant Women and the Rise of the Movies she focuses on three early female archetypes in
film. These archetypes are entitled the vamp, the gamine, and the virgin. The Vamp is defined as
someone who is evil and a seductress who uses the male s sympathy of her against himself. The
Gamine is defined as having many male physical characteristics specifically short hair and also
having personality traits defining them as mischievous. Finally, the Virgin is defined as someone

Mythbusters
There are many Computer Science myths that are propagated throughout modern media. These
technical myths can be seen as positive and sometimes negative. A big myth that is often
propagated is the idea of hacking as an individual. Hackers are seen to possess a sort of
superpower that allows them to hack anything alone. In movies and tv shows, hackers are shown to
be able to infiltrate everything from social media accounts to governments. I want to debunk the
myth that hacking is not done quickly by a single person like we see in the movies. Instead, to be the
most effective, hackers form groups which enables them to solve difficult problems in a timely
manner.
In a clip from the movie Swordfish Stanley, a hacker, is forced to hack the Department of Justice.
He is forced to help by Gabriel, the antagonist, who puts a gun to his head. Gabriel says the best
hackers in the world are said to be able to do this in 60 minutes. I want you to do it in 60 seconds.
In the end of the scene, the hacker is able to complete the job in 60 seconds. This scene pushes
forward the idea that a single person can hack the government in less than one minute without
preparation beforehand. This myth is dangerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

finally hacked them. They took over 100tb of data from it s servers. That data included emails
between executives and even a handful of unreleased movies. (Griffin, Andrew) This hack was
unprecedented in its scale and vengeance. Because of its scale, this hack could only be
accomplished by a group working towards a single goal. This again is contrary to the stereotype
that hackers work

Who Is Napoleon A Hero
Napoleon became a hero in France because when he was only nine years of age he was sent to
military school. Now he finished his schooling at only 16 and became a lieutenant in the
artillery. Napoleon joined the army when the Revolution Broke out. October 1795 royalist
rebels marched on the National Convention, Napoleon was told to defend the delegates by a
government officer. He greeted them with a connonade and as they rushed in they were
confused and panicked and Napoleon was hailed and became the hero of the hour. In 1796,
Napoleon lead a French army against Austria forces and crossing the Alps he went into Italy and
won a series of victories. To protect French trade and disrupt British, India trade, he led and
expedition to Egypt, but he did not have the same success as in Egypt. Admiral Haratio Nelson
was victorious over Napoleon. But, Napoleon kept all things bad out of newspapers and was still a
hero to the people in France. The Directory had lost control of the French peoples confidence and
political situation in 1799. Napoleon s friends tried to urge him to have political power when he
returned from Egypt. Lawmakers dissolved the Directory and established three consuls and one
was Napoleon. He took the power of a dictator quickly. That today is called a coup(French phrase
coup d etat or blow to the state in English). At this time France was still at war. Britain, Russia,

Intellectual Property Rights And Digital Pirating
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS AND DIGITAL PIRATING
Luke Telfer
STATEMENT OF THE ISSUE
The idea of intellectual property can be traced back to ancient Greece with the first known
reference involving the protection of culinary recipes developed by chefs. According to the World
Intellectual Property Organization, intellectual property refers to creations of the mind: inventions;
literary and artistic works; and symbols, names and images used in commerce.
The violation of intellectual property rights can take many forms, however the main ethical issue to
be examined here is that of digital piracy of copyrighted artistic works and of the variety that
involves individual consumption of such material (as opposed to blatant profiteering of the ... Show

ARGUMENTS IN FAVOR OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
There are several approaches to defending the idea of intellectual property rights, each with their
own strengths and weaknesses. Such approaches generally take one of three largely teleological
forms: personality theory, utilitarian rationale, and Lockean arguments. Each of these forms
advocates for the value of intellectual property rights in general and not specifically toward any
particular type of intellectual property.
Personality Theory
Personality based justifications for intellectual property stem largely from Georg Wilhelm Friedrich
Hegel s ideas on human will, personality, and freedom. Hegel insists that human will is the
fundamental property of existence and that our will is perpetually trying to achieve actuality. This
eternal struggle is therefore the essence of personality and it is in part manifested externally
through our property. With this view in mind, creative works are necessarily the property of the
creator and the creator ought to have complete control over them.
This is an important view for many forms of creation, but it is relatively unclear in how it
pertains to digital copies of a creation. For example, defacing a classical painting would be seen as
immoral even if the perpetrator has legally acquired ownership of the painting because the creator
still has certain rights over the creation. However, if a

Descriptive Essay On Olive Garden
Olive Garden is a family friendly restaurant that specializes in Italian American dishes, and is well
known for their soup, salad, and breadsticks. My family and I ate dinner at Olive Garden in
Lafayette, Indiana. The criteria used to rate our experience was the flavor, appearance, and
healthfulness of the food, the prompt and efficiency of the service, the price of the meal, and the
lighting and decor of the atmosphere. When it comes to the best service, food, price, and
atmosphere Olive Garden excels and continues to please their customers. The atmosphere of any
restaurant is a very important in making a first impression on their customers. When a customer
decides to try a new restaurant, if there is a bad atmosphere they may not want to return to the
restaurant. The Italian theme of Olive Garden is expressed throughout the outside decor of the
building. The outside is decorated with vines which are very reminiscent of Italian style buildings
with a beautiful entryway. The entrance of the restaurant was nicely decorated. Since it is around
Christmas they had a beautiful Christmas tree up, as well as garland and red bows. The lighting of
the restaurant was neither to dark or to bright. There was plenty of light to be able to see the menu,
and the light created a relaxed atmosphere throughout the restaurant.

Word Frequency Differences
In everyday conversation, there are words that people use quite frequently and words that are used
infrequently, which has been described as Word Frequency (WF). For example, the word cow has a
higher frequency, because it utilized more often in everyday conversation, novels, magazine,
newspaper, and academia than the wordtungsten, which is less used (Davies, 2012). Andrews
(1989) argued that based on this concept of WF, NS has an effect only with words that have a low
WF. Explained further, the more neighbors that a low frequency word has, the longer it takes for
one to attain mental activation for word recognition (Andrews, 1992). Furthermore it is argued that
WF has more to do with word recognition than NS effect, because it is shown that... Show more

It was found that regardless of the frequency of the target word, the greater WF difference that the
neighbor word has compared to the target word, the longer the delay in word determination that
occurs (Grainger et al., 1989). In addition, it was found that the larger the amount of these higher
frequency neighbors that the target has, the longer the delay of the neighborhood word (Grainger
et al., 1989). However, studies done by Sears et al. (2006) showed no such high frequency neighbor
effect when the study was replicated in English. The reasons for such disparity is that each language
might have different word characteristic, for example English words tend to be shorter on average
than French, German, or Spanish, which can have more neighbor words, which affects word
determination time (Sears et al. 2006; Wimmer, Köhler, Grotjahn, Altmann,

Innateness of Children’s Language Acquisition
The subtlety of language acquisition has been the most fundamental question in the study of
linguistics and human development. From Bow wow Theory to Yo He Ho Theory, major theories
on the origins and learnability of language have emerged in mid 20th century and heavily debated
ever since. Among them, the idea of universal grammar in which is usually credited to linguist
Noam Chomsky, remains the most notable and controversial theory over time. He introduced and
developed the theory from 1950s to 1970s, as he proposed and championed linguistic nativism in
language acquisition. Chomsky supports that language mastery involves knowledge of linguistic
rules and conventions, which he later named that as cognizance . He believes that cognizance...

insights regarding the learning mechanisms underlying the earliest stages of language acquisition. ,
according to Saffran. During this infant period, the discovered elements in sounds and gestures in
language are beyond children s understanding if only just based on intelligence. They have shown
early inborn and involuntary assemblage of words and sounds, combining them into meanings

examples drawn from the observations in which children acquires language intuitively without any

The Tucson Unified School District Essay
In recent years, the Arizona education department has been under fire after the Arizona legislature
passed a law banning Mexican American studies in schools (Planas, 2015, p. 1). Not only have the
schools in Arizona suffered from this discriminatory law, but also the advancement of Mexican
American students. This essay will briefly go over the Tucson Unified School District, the district
in the midst of the controversy, and will mainly focus on Pueblo Magnet High School, one of the
schools in the Tucson Unified School District that was greatly affected by the ethnic studies law.
Pueblo Magnet High School History According to the Pueblo Magnet High School webpage, the
school is located on 3500 South 12th Avenue in Tucson, Arizona, and opened in 1956 (Pueblo
Magnet High School Information, 2015, p. 1). Pueblo Magnet High School is a community school
and receives most its funding from the local government (Pueblo Magnet High School Information,

The school got its name from the Spanish word pequeГ±o pueblo, meaning small town (Pueblo

Essay On Sacred Heart Vs Notre Dame Hockey Game
On Thursday, October 19, I attended the Sacred Heart versus Notre Dame hockey game. I have
previously attended hockey games at Compton Family Ice Arena both in and out of the student
section. However, this experience was slightly different than my previous ones since many
students were still away for fall break. The lack of students created a much different atmosphere
especially because at Notre Dame Hockey games the crowd tends to feed off the excitement of
students. This was obvious during certain songs such as Turn Down for What by DJ Snake and Lil
Jon which elicits strong responses from students but created little excitement minus the students.
However, the crowd did feed off the band. The crowd joined in during let s go Irish ... Show more

The first was the constant matchup graphic on the ribbon board as I found the animation kind of
distracting throughout the game. It would be helpful if the players on the ice were shown with
their statistics similar to the way it is done at both men s and women s basketball games,
however, I also understand that may be unrealistic in hockey since there are such quick line
changes. Another possible area of improvement is the intro video. It felt very generic compared
to the ones that I m used to seeing for Notre Dame sports. Unlike this year s intro videos at
volleyball (which features team expectations matched with player highlights) and football (which
focuses on the excellence and tradition of the program), the only words in the hockey intro video
were what a hit and takes a shot which seem like placeholders for something more. Since this
team did reach the Frozen Four last year, I expected the intro video to build on last year s
excellence or how they succeeded despite having one of the lowest seeds in the tournament.
Another big aspect of in game entertainment at hockey is the intermissions. At this game, the first
intermission was filled by a youth hockey league playing. I really enjoyed watching all the little
kids play hockey. It involved the community and created positive memories for the kids and their
parents. The second intermission was used for the Slap Shot contest. The Slap Shot contest is

Literature Review. Autism Overview. Autism Spectrum Disorder
Literature Review
Autism Overview Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a widely known disability that, as of 2012,
affects about 1 in 68 of children in the United States (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
2016). The exact cause of the disability is unknown, however individuals with ASD exhibit some
common characteristics. Autism belongs to heterogeneous categories of developmental
disabilities where neurological disorders lead to deficits in a child s ability to communicate,
understand language, play, develop social skills, and relate to others (Rao Gagie, 2006, p. 26).
These deficits can range in varying degrees of severity, which is why the disability is considered to
be a spectrum. Students with autism are usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many students in high school lack vocational training that could increase their future success, and
many students with disabilities are in need of extra training or exploration to help them establish
these goals (Swank Huber, 2013). IDEA states that students with disabilities should be prepared for
further education, employment, and independent living (IDEA, 2004). Although this is stated in
the law, many students with disabilities are not getting a sufficient vocational education. Students
with disabilities are required to have a transition plan in place when they are in high school.
Transition planning is critical for all individuals, with or without disabilities, and this planning
should focus on layering the foundation and providing support for transition in all aspects of adult
life (Sitlington, 1996, p. 37). Teaching vocational skills are an essential part of this transition
planning.
Students are educated, but there is a separation between vocational and academic education.
Students are more prepared for post secondary education than they are for the workforce (Gebhardt,
Tretter, Schwab, Gasteiger Klicpera, 2012). Hazelkorn and Lombard (1994) state:
Secondary students with disabilities often are denied access to the broad continuum of vocational
education options because of the increased academic expectations of vocational courses, the

The Importance of the Electoral College Essay
The Importance of the Electoral College
Though our founding fathers created the Electoral College over 200 years ago, it has been changed
with time to accommodate modern needs and is still an important and necessary part of our
electoral system. The Electoral College ensures political stability in our nation by encouraging the
two party system and also protects the interests of minorities. Furthermore, the Electoral College
helps maintain a united country by requiring widespread popular support of a candidate in order
for him or her to become president.
The Electoral College was first introduced to America at the Constitutional Convention of 1787,

According to the first draft of the Constitution, electors voted for two presidents, at least one of
which was from a different state than the elector was representing. Whichever candidate received
the most votes would become president and the runner up would be vice president. This method
worked for several years until, in 1800, the unforeseen effect of political parties resulted in a tie for
the presidency between Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson, both of the same party. The resulting
dispute over who the president would be led to the 12th Amendment to the Constitution.
The 12th Amendment changed the rules of the electoral process by having electors make
separate votes for president and vice president. It goes on to say that if no candidate wins a
majority of electoral votes, the House of Representatives would select a president from the top
three candidates. The Amendment also stipulates that the Senate would choose a vice president
from the top two candidates in the event of a tie for that office. This second design of the
Electoral College provides for the workings of a two party system in America and is still in effect
today.
From their vast knowledge of history, the American Founding Fathersknew that unlimited political
power cannot safely be trusted to anyone not to appointed officials of government, not to elected
representatives of the people, not to the people themselves, says

Affects The Dissolving Time In The Hydrochloric Acid
Introduction
What if the density of the pill affects the dissolving time in the hydrochloric acid? During this
experiment, this question will be answered. The denser the pill, then the longer dissolving rate
when time is a function of the dissolving rate. Tablets, coated tablets, gel capsules, and hard
capsules will be tested, and all of these each have a different densities. Medicine is a very
important part in keeping humans alive and healthy. Different types are capable of many things
such as: relieving pain, fighting disease, balance systems and organs in the body, fighting infection,
supplementing a deficiency, helping a bodily mechanism fix itself, and decrease, and
overabundance of a body substance (Howell 2017). There are many ways that medicine can be
administered, and include, but are not limited to: orally, sublingually, injection, intravenous, dermal,
and inhalation. After the administration, the drug is delivered throughout all of the body systems
and will perform by causing the effects it was made to put out. Finally, the medicine and waste are
washed out of the body. Based on ВЁPrinciples of PharmacokineticsВЁ, ВЁpharmacokinetics is the
study of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretionВЁ (Ratain 2003). In other words, the
drug s pharmacokinetics determines the duration and the intensity of the effect on the body.
Absorption rate can be affected by the drug itself, such as: rate of dissolution, lipid solubility, and
route (VandeWaa 2016). The absorption process starts by the route of admission, in this case oral.
The oral, or by mouth, route of administration for drugs is the most common. When a pill is taken
by mouth, it travels down to the stomach, were most pills dissolve. While in the stomach, some
kinds of pills are absorbed into the stomach lining, but some move on to the small intestine. Every
pill eventually ends up in the bloodstream and circulate through the body to tissues and organs
(Howell 2017). Once passive diffusion occurs, the cells absorb the molecules of the medicine.
Then, the molecules of the medicine will exit the cells and travel in the bloodstream for the
distribution process. Blood traveling to tissue, otherwise known as perfusion, is the main

life. If she were more in touch with reality, she would realize that she needs to work on herself

Emma has a very unrealistic perception of love. Emma is unable to fall in love with anyone

Rhetorical Analysis Of Blood, Toil, Tears, And Sweat
On May 13th, 1940, newly elected Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered a historic speech
titled Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat . He discusses the necessity of an empowered Great Britain
in the shadow of World War II; as well as his confidence within the strength of the British people.
This speech s lasting impact was reinforced by it s usage of the three appeals: ethos, logos, and
pathos. These appeals address the ethical, logical, and emotional ideas and undertones within a
piece. Churchill s iconic speech truly encapsulates these three appeals within every word.
Ethos is considered to be the ethical aspect of a piece. In other words: is the information and
speaker reputable and trustworthy? This appeal is clearly demonstrated within Blood, Toil, Tears,
and Sweat . For example, Churchill states
In this crisis I hope I may be pardoned if I do not address the House at any length today. I hope

demonstrated in the line Let that be realized; no survival for the British Empire, no survival for all
that the British Empire has stood for (Churchill). Churchill frankly states that without action, the
British Empire and its values will crumble in the face of Nazi Germany. This clear and conscience
delivery of Britain s fate is logical and able to be understood. So in turn, the appeal logos can be

Protein Synthesis Lab Report
Scientists found out that the formation of proteins (polypeptide chains) are dictated by the
expression of DNA. The DNA dictates the types of proteins that will be formed by making the
sequence of nitrogen containing bases. Each three base sequence has an equivalent code for the
amino acid that will make up the formation of protein(polypeptide). For example; the sequence of
the three bases CCA is a code for using the amino acidProline (Pro), CTT is for the amino acid
Leucine (Leu), TCT is the code for the amino acid Serine (Ser), and so on. After coding, each of
these amino acids will be used to form long chains of amino acids called polypeptide chain.
These chains will make up the proteins. The synthesis of protein is a very complex process. The
two major steps in protein synthesis are (I) Transcription and (II) Translation. These are the process
in the synthesis of protein from the information expressed by genes. The figure below illustrates the
synthesis of proteins in a cell.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Transcription. In this process, the information from the DNA sequence is copied to a
complementary RNA sequence. The type of RNA that is involved in this process is the
messenger RNA (mRNA). During a transcription process, when a sequence of DNA is

For example, in base pairing in DNA, Adenine (A) is paired with Thymine (T), and Cytosine (C)

with Uracil (U) instead of Thymine (T), and Cytosine(C) is paired with Guanine (G). Figure __

Chivalry Is The Lost Art Of Gallantry

Chivalry is dead. This grumble, usually uttered by woman, may be quite valid. Chivalry and
gallantry are in fact synonyms, both encasing the idea of how to treat woman correctly.
A large majority of people cannot define the word gallantry which may be due to its frequency of
only .37 times per million words used. I am amazed that a word with such meaningful connotation
is rarely used. Many men however don t act in such a way that deserves the compliment either and

ABSTRACT
Wireless communications is, by any measure, the fastest growing segment of the communications
industry. It has captured the attention of the media and the imagination of the public. However, the
fundamental phenomenon which makes transmission unreliable is time varying fading. The
phenomenon is described as the constructive/destructive interference between signals arriving at the
same antenna via different paths, and hence with different delays and phases, resulting in random
fluctuations of the signal level at the receiver. This paper investigates Rake receiver method of
combating fading.
The rake receiver uses a combination of correlators to separately detect M strongest multipath
components, code generators, and delays, or fingers , to spread out the individual echo signals of
the multipath. Each signal is then delayed according to peaks found in the received signal. The
rake receiver uses several sub receivers each delayed slightly in order to tune in to the individual
multipath components. Each component is decoded independently, but at a later stage combined
using delay compensate combiner and MRC dispreading in order to make the most use of the
different transmission characteristics of each

All children have certainly many experiences before they became truly mature. A child can face lot

Outline Of An Article On Job Redesign And The Redesign Of...
Motivational Theories Explained Article on HIM Departments I read an article on job redesign,
and the redesign of expanded HIM functions. As we are all aware, there have been several
advancements in recent years in technology and healthcare. Together, they can be powerful, and
separate they can become old, and outdated. Job classifications also become outdated. The way
medical records are filed is not the same as they used to be. The doctor doesn t come to your
room with a big chart binder with all of your medical records anymore, he or she comes in with
an iPad or a Computer on a cart. In some situations, there is a computer inside of the room. Even
with changes like this, job redesign may be necessary though enrichment and rotation. Below,
we will look at some key questions and answers to really learn how some of these principles
were applied, and how they can benefit a manager, along with this employees. Working harder is
not always the best option. Working smart is the alternative to this. If you manage to work hard
versus smarter, you could run into trouble with your employees, such as stress, burn out, etc. We
have to understand and visualize goals that are put in place inside this article, as seen above. By
working smarter, you will not only decrease stress, but you will decrease overall work load. A few
other goals throughout this paper are the rotation and enrichment of the staff. One of the underlying
goals that HIM departments should consider are

Essay on Pneumatology: Spiritual Gifts With a passion for theology and the word of God, it
brings me great joy when asked to explain my beliefs. While some aspects of our faith are a little
simpler to explain than others, one that is continuously debated is that of spiritual gifts. Because of
a presented opportunity from a curious friend, I found it fitting to dive into the topic that is
currently being debated at his home church. In Acts 2:1 4, Paul recounts Pentecost as the ultimate
outpouring of the Holy Spirit to all believers, indwelling and granting them with spiritual gifts.
Ephesians 4:11 12 explains that these Spirit given ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul urges in 1 Corinthians 14:39 40 that speaking in tongues should not be forbidden, and be
done in order. Brand, Draper and England add in their commentary, There is no compelling
reason to believe that ecstatic utterance is the same thing as the Biblical gift of tongues. (1606).
There exists no restriction for personal prayer (1 Corinthians 14:18 19), however should not be
used in public places without an interpreter, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 14:28. This would
compromise the edifying design for unbelievers. Much controversy has been raised over 1
Corinthians 13 and what is said to be valid . Those negating the validity of speaking in tongues
typically use 1 Corinthians 13:8 10 as the basis for their argument. However, the verse is
comparing eternal with temporal things. This is Paul s way of emphasizing peace in abiding
things (like faith, hope and love) versus division for the sake of the tongues controversy to the
church (Smith). Verse 10 also brings about the discussion of what Paul refers to as perfect . Even
though, those belonging to the Negative School argue that which is perfect is to be the full canon
of the Bible, there is nothing that suggests that the Holy Spirit will stop moving through this gift.
When moving down to verse 12, it speaks of the time that the bride of Christ shall come face to
face with her groom. Because Jesus is the personification of perfection, I believe this perfect

Analysis Of Bachmann Gambling Addiction
Bachmann Gambling Addiction
In The Neurology of Free Will, Charles Duhigg puts a special importance on habits their inner
working and how they can change. Duhigg describes how habits work through the cycle of cue,
routine, and reward. Angie Bachmann from being a bored housewife to losing all her money
through uncontrollable gambling.
Angie Bachmann mother of 3 children, got addicted to gambling felt lonely at home, when her
husband went to work and children went to school. Bachmann had gotten married young and had
become pregnant almost right away. She had never held down a meaningful job. One morning,
She was sitting at home, staring at the television, so bored that she was giving serious thought to
reorganizing the silverware drawer (Duhigg). That morning the trouble began. She was really
bored, so at about noon, Bachmann drove to a riverboat casino. She played and lost 40 dollars.
After that first trip to the casino, Bachmann started going to the riverboat once a week. Then twice
a week. Over the next decade, Bachmann played regularly. She went whenever she fought with her
husband or was just bored. At the tables she was numb and excited, all at once. The high of
winning was so immediate. The pain of losing passed so fast. According to Duhigg states First,
there is a cue, a trigger that tells your brain to go into automatic mode. Then there is the routine the
behavior itself which can be physical or mental or emotional. Finally, there is a reward, which helps

Contaminated Drinking Water Research
Water is necessary to sustain life, but not all water is safe for drinking. Unclean water helps to
spread pathogenic diseases. It is especially dangerous in less populated areas where purified water
may not be readily available. In these areas, it may fall on the responsibility of the individual to
find their own water. People can collect water from streams, rivers, or lakes. The water from these
sources, however, is considered unprotected and cannot be consumed right away. Unprotected water
sources can easily become contaminated and are unfit for drinking. That is why this water has to be
put through purification methods to withdraw all bacteria, chlorine, nitrates, and phosphates in the
water. If a person consumes contaminated drinking water... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When measuring for bacteria, results from both the total Coliform count and the Fecal Coliform
were collected. Total Coliform accounts for all types of bacteria that is transferred to water by
facilitators such as: soils plants and animals, whereas, fecal coliform is found in the intestinal
tracts of warm blooded animals. Something should be done about water contamination if any
coliform is found in the water (Vermont Dpt. of Health 2014). The EPA has set the standard
regulation for coliform in drinking water at zero because of the high levels of risk associated with
the presence of bacteria in drinking water,. Nitrate, an additional impurity measured, can also have
damaging effects if consumed. Nitrate can enter drinking water from the runoff of fertilizer use,
erosion, sewage and the septic tanks leaks. As stated by the Environmental Protection Agency,
Symptoms include shortness of breath and blue baby syndrome (EPA 2014). The EPA also sets
standard maximum contaminant level at 10 mg/L. When completing the experiment, phosphate,
which is naturally occurring in rocks and mineral deposits and is released during erosion
processes facilitated by weather and time, was also measured. Excess phosphate can promote an
increase in plant growth, and in some cases catalyze the death of fish and other aquatic
invertebrates due to the presence of algal blooms. There has been no

The Controversial Issue Of Cloning Humans
Cloning
In discussions of Cloning, one controversial issue has been Cloning Humans. On the one hand, Paul
Stark argues that Cloning is wrong and shouldn t be done. On the other hand, Simon Smith
contends that we could Clone human organs and put them into cloned pigs so that we have more
organs for transplants and many more possibilities. My own view is in the middle of the issue.
That I believe Cloning is dangerous and uncertain of the outcome. But the number of benefits from
cloning is infinite.
For Paul Stark, one controversial issue is cloning. states that cloning is dangerous, wrong, and
unnecessary. He thinks this will lead to genetically engineered children used for harvesting organs.
Stark believes that we have no need for cloning and that the money spent researching it is wasted
money. He also believes that it is wrong to clone for it is not ... Show more content on

He thinks that if we spend enough time on researching cloning, we can clone human beings with
outstanding physical attributes, such as a heart that works better than our own. Also immune
systems that will allow us to never get sick. Another benefit is Embryonic stem cells that can
grown to produce organs and tissue to replace damaged or missing ones. We could create skin for
burn victims, or brain cells for people who have brain damage. The sky s the limit with human
cloning. As I do agree with what Mr Smith says about the many medical benefits of human cloning.
I also have a great concern for the safety of human testing. Many animals have died due to cloning
and this same thing may happen to a human, whether is be the mother that gets injured or the child
that is cloned. Either way in the process of researching and testing cloning, there may be many
casualties due to misunderstandings and miscalculations. If human cloning is approved for testing
sometime in the future, then there are many dangers of

[1] Her father, Michael Higgins, originally studied phrenology and other medical practices, but eventually moved to being a stone cutter. Her mother, Anne Higgins, was born in Ireland, and her family moved to Canada during the Potato Famine. In 1869 Michael married Anne and she went through 18 pregnancies, only 11 of which lived. [3] Margaret was the sixth child in this long line and spent her time doing chores and looking after the younger children. Her older two older sisters supported her when she started attending school at Claverack College and Hudson River Institute. [2] When her mother was 50 years old, she passed away and Margaret blamed her mother s frequent childbearing and poverty for her death. At the age of 21, Margaret started taking classes at the White Plains Hospital as a nurse probationer. Not even two years later, in 1902, she married William Sanger and quit her schooling. Later in 1913, Margaret and William filed for divorce but it wasn t finalized until 1921. [13] She went on to marry Noah Slee in 1922. After having 3 children, she and her family took up residence in New York city, with her as a visiting nurse and her husband an architect and house painter. Although some people think standing up for our ancestors is disrespectful there is the reason to why we stand up for them. Think about it, would you stand up for your own culture if someone took it away from you? That is exactly what Winona Beamer, Graduates from Kamehameha KapДЃlama schools and Eddie Pu decided to do. Even though there are many disagreements towards us as Hawaiians. Being a Hawaiian means standing up for your culture and our Kupunas. Standing up for Hawaiian Culture is not easy but a lady named Winona Beamer did what she thought was right when she felt her culture got ripped away from her. Winona decided to Chant in front of her elders in the school because she knew it wasnК»t right that she couldnК»t chant or speak Hawaiian in a Hawaiian school. Due to her actions, she was expelled from the school from the principal the next day. In her words this is how she felt, I wanted to see the will. I begged to see the will. • 6. Examples Of Structuralist Film Theory B. Theories From a different angle of view, the ultimate aim of culture/media theories is to provide theoretical/academic foundation to different genres within art and media. Likewise, there are several film theories aiming to provide theoretical framework to different genres within motion picture. Besides, these theories help to perceive the relationship between other genres within art and Hollywood movies. Structuralist Film Theory One can easily identify that this theory is interconnected with structuralism, especially related to structural linguistics. This theory claims that directors basically make use of different codes to construct meaning. For instance, different scenes are combined into a single story with the help of editing. If editing is not done, the viewers cannot perceive the directors codes or ideas. But in Hollywood films, utmost importance is given to editing because the directors know that editing can provide spontaneity to their films as a whole. Post structuralist Film Theory One can see that Post structuralism is basically an extension of structuralism, but with differences. For instance, a viewer ... For instance, films produced under Marxist influence provided ample importance to working class struggles and related class wars. On the other side, corporate overtone can be seen in Hollywood movies, which is totally against Marxist ideology. Still, some traces of Marxism can be seen in the movies by Hollywood directors like James Cameron. In short, Marxist Film Theory attempts to evaluate the scope of motion picture from Marxist view ... Whereas science, social studies, or math may or may not enter the daily discourse of a wealthy family as it raises its child, reading will unquestionably monopolize a statistically significant portion of child rearing time. Marx s 1858 Grundrisse divides value into two distinct categories: use and exchange. Use value refers to the utilitarian value garnered from something, whereas exchange value places monetary value onto certain objects within a fiat currency system assuming there is no inherent worth in something. The biggest argument against culturally responsive teaching within literacy comes from a perceived lack of exchange value. True a capitalistic, patriarchal, white supremacist society does not place substantial, if any, market value onto texts missing from the constructed Western Canon. If education seeks to truly empower students, teachers must equip students with skills and knowledge that has market exchange value. However, I argue that because culturally responsive texts are a more effective way to build reading capacity, the loss of market exchange value is dwarfed by the augmented use value that comes from being a strong, analytical reader. I will also conceded that viewing literature through a class based lens exclusively diminishes the holistic construction of literary worth, and I would argue for non economic benefits stemming from reading, some of which exist simply as expanded thought processes. However, so long as a dominant lens through which readers can be ability grouped is socio economic status, the economic ramifications of reading cannot be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To begin the cinematography is different in that in the first two films most of the shots are wide shots and with very minimal cuts. Also the lengths of the first two films are very short Mabel s Predicament is only 11 minutes long and The Pawnshop is 29 minutes long. These technical myths can be seen as positive and sometimes negative. A big myth that is often propagated is the idea of hacking as an individual. Hackers are seen to possess a sort of superpower that allows them to hack anything alone. In movies and tv shows, hackers are shown to be able to infiltrate everything from social media accounts to governments. I want to debunk the myth that hacking is not done quickly by a single person like we see in the movies. Instead, to be the most effective, hackers form groups which enables them to solve difficult problems in a timely manner. In a clip from the movie Swordfish Stanley, a hacker, is forced to hack the Department of Justice. He is forced to help by Gabriel, the antagonist, who puts a gun to his head. Gabriel says the best hackers in the world are said to be able to do this in 60 minutes. I want you to do it in 60 seconds. ARGUMENTS IN FAVOR OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS There are several approaches to defending the idea of intellectual property rights, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Such approaches generally take one of three largely teleological forms: personality theory, utilitarian rationale, and Lockean arguments. Each of these forms advocates for the value of intellectual property rights in general and not specifically toward any particular type of intellectual property. Personality Theory Personality based justifications for intellectual property stem largely from Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel s ideas on human will, personality, and freedom. Hegel insists that human will is the fundamental property of existence and that our will is perpetually trying to achieve actuality. This eternal struggle is therefore the essence of personality and it is in part manifested externally through our property. With this view in mind, creative works are necessarily the property of the creator and the creator ought to have complete control over them. This is an important view for many forms of creation, but it is relatively unclear in how it pertains to digital copies of a creation. For example, defacing a classical painting would be seen as immoral even if the perpetrator has legally acquired ownership of the painting because the creator still has certain rights over the creation. • 23. Word Frequency Differences In everyday conversation, there are words that people use quite frequently and words that are used infrequently, which has been described as Word Frequency (WF). For example, the word cow has a higher frequency, because it utilized more often in everyday conversation, novels, magazine, newspaper, and academia than the wordtungsten, which is less used (Davies, 2012). Andrews (1989) argued that based on this concept of WF, NS has an effect only with words that have a low WF. Explained further, the more neighbors that a low frequency word has, the longer it takes for one to attain mental activation for word recognition (Andrews, 1992). Furthermore it is argued that WF has more to do with word recognition than NS effect, because it is shown that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, studies done by Sears et al. (2006) showed no such high frequency neighbor effect when the study was replicated in English. The reasons for such disparity is that each language might have different word characteristic, for example English words tend to be shorter on average than French, German, or Spanish, which can have more neighbor words, which affects word determination time (Sears et al. 2006; Wimmer, KГ¶hler, Grotjahn, Altmann, ... Among them, the idea of universal grammar in which is usually credited to linguist Noam Chomsky, remains the most notable and controversial theory over time. Another possible area of improvement is the intro video. It felt very generic compared to the ones that I m used to seeing for Notre Dame sports. Although this is stated in the law, many students with disabilities are not getting a sufficient vocational education. According to the first draft of the Constitution, electors voted for two presidents, at least one of which was from a different state than the elector was representing. Whichever candidate received the most votes would become president and the runner up would be vice president. This method worked for several years until, in 1800, the unforeseen effect of political parties resulted in a tie for the presidency between Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson, both of the same party. The resulting dispute over who the president would be led to the 12th Amendment to the Constitution. The 12th Amendment changed the rules of the electoral process by having electors make separate votes for president and vice president. It goes on to say that if no candidate wins a majority of electoral votes, the House of Representatives would select a president from the top three candidates. The Amendment also stipulates that the Senate would choose a vice president from the top two candidates in the event of a tie for that office. This second design of the Electoral College provides for the workings of a two party system in America and is still in effect today. During this experiment, this question will be answered. The denser the pill, then the longer dissolving rate when time is a function of the dissolving rate. Tablets, coated tablets, gel capsules, and hard capsules will be tested, and all of these each have a different densities. Medicine is a very important part in keeping humans alive and healthy. Different types are capable of many things such as: relieving pain, fighting disease, balance systems and organs in the body, fighting infection, supplementing a deficiency, helping a bodily mechanism fix itself, and decrease, and overabundance of a body substance (Howell 2017). There are many ways that medicine can be administered, and include, but are not limited to: orally, sublingually, injection, intravenous, dermal, and inhalation. After the administration, the drug is delivered throughout all of the body systems and will perform by causing the effects it was made to put out. Finally, the medicine and waste are washed out of the body. Based on ВЁPrinciples of PharmacokineticsВЁ, ВЁpharmacokinetics is the study of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretionВЁ (Ratain 2003). In other words, the drug s pharmacokinetics determines the duration and the intensity of the effect on the body. Absorption rate can be affected by the drug itself, such as: rate of dissolution, lipid solubility, and route (VandeWaa 2016). The absorption process starts by the route of admission, in this case oral. The oral, or by mouth, route of administration for drugs is the most common. When a pill is taken by mouth, it travels down to the stomach, were most pills dissolve. While in the stomach, some kinds of pills are absorbed into the stomach lining, but some move on to the small intestine. The DNA dictates the types of proteins that will be formed by making the sequence of nitrogen containing bases. Each three base sequence has an equivalent code for the amino acid that will make up the formation of protein(polypeptide). For example; the sequence of the three bases CCA is a code for using the amino acidProline (Pro), CTT is for the amino acid Leucine (Leu), TCT is the code for the amino acid Serine (Ser), and so on. After coding, each of these amino acids will be used to form long chains of amino acids called polypeptide chain. These chains will make up the proteins. Those who live their lives in a chivalrous way take it quite seriously. These types of people find it rude when others don t act in this manner. To the people who do these small things every day, it is just the right thing to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rake Receiver Method Of Multipath Fading Reduction RAKE RECEIVER METHOD OF MULTIPATH FADING REDUCTION S.D Dayo1, K.O Egbo2, 1Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho. 2 Department of Physics, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State ABSTRACT Wireless communications is, by any measure, the fastest growing segment of the communications industry. It has captured the attention of the media and the imagination of the public. However, the fundamental phenomenon which makes transmission unreliable is time varying fading. The phenomenon is described as the constructive/destructive interference between signals arriving at the same antenna via different paths, and hence with different delays and phases, resulting in random fluctuations of the signal level at the receiver. This paper investigates Rake receiver method of combating fading. The rake receiver uses a combination of correlators to separately detect M strongest multipath components, code generators, and delays, or fingers , to spread out the individual echo signals of the multipath. Each signal is then delayed according to peaks found in the received signal. The rake receiver uses several sub receivers each delayed slightly in order to tune in to the individual multipath components. Each component is decoded independently, but at a later stage combined using delay compensate combiner and MRC dispreading in order to make the most use of the different transmission characteristics of each ... • 44. Outline Of An Article On Job Redesign And The Redesign Of... Motivational Theories Explained Article on HIM Departments I read an article on job redesign, and the redesign of expanded HIM functions. As we are all aware, there have been several advancements in recent years in technology and healthcare. Together, they can be powerful, and separate they can become old, and outdated. Job classifications also become outdated. The way medical records are filed is not the same as they used to be. The doctor doesn t come to your room with a big chart binder with all of your medical records anymore, he or she comes in with an iPad or a Computer on a cart. In some situations, there is a computer inside of the room. Even with changes like this, job redesign may be necessary though enrichment and rotation. Below, we will look at some key questions and answers to really learn how some of these principles were applied, and how they can benefit a manager, along with this employees. Working harder is not always the best option. Working smart is the alternative to this. If you manage to work hard versus smarter, you could run into trouble with your employees, such as stress, burn out, etc. We have to understand and visualize goals that are put in place inside this article, as seen above. By working smarter, you will not only decrease stress, but you will decrease overall work load. A few other goals throughout this paper are the rotation and enrichment of the staff. Theo 201 Short Essay #3 Name: Nichole Acosta Writing Style Used: MLA Course and Section Number: THEO 201 B01 Essay on Pneumatology: Spiritual Gifts With a passion for theology and the word of God, it brings me great joy when asked to explain my beliefs. While some aspects of our faith are a little simpler to explain than others, one that is continuously debated is that of spiritual gifts. Because of a presented opportunity from a curious friend, I found it fitting to dive into the topic that is currently being debated at his home church. In Acts 2:1 4, Paul recounts Pentecost as the ultimate outpouring of the Holy Spirit to all believers, indwelling and granting them with spiritual gifts. Ephesians 4:11 12 explains that these Spirit given ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paul urges in 1 Corinthians 14:39 40 that speaking in tongues should not be forbidden, and be done in order. Brand, Draper and England add in their commentary, There is no compelling reason to believe that ecstatic utterance is the same thing as the Biblical gift of tongues. (1606). There exists no restriction for personal prayer (1 Corinthians 14:18 19), however should not be used in public places without an interpreter, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 14:28. This would compromise the edifying design for unbelievers. Much controversy has been raised over 1 Corinthians 13 and what is said to be valid . Those negating the validity of speaking in tongues typically use 1 Corinthians 13:8 10 as the basis for their argument. However, the verse is comparing eternal with temporal things. This is Paul s way of emphasizing peace in abiding things (like faith, hope and love) versus division for the sake of the tongues controversy to the church (Smith). Verse 10 also brings about the discussion of what Paul refers to as perfect . Even though, those belonging to the Negative School argue that which is perfect is to be the full canon of the Bible, there is nothing that suggests that the Holy Spirit will stop moving through this gift. When moving down to verse 12, it speaks of the time that the bride of Christ shall come face to face with her groom. Because Jesus is the personification of perfection, I believe this perfect ... She was really bored, so at about noon, Bachmann drove to a riverboat casino. She played and lost 40 dollars. After that first trip to the casino, Bachmann started going to the riverboat once a week. Then twice a week. Over the next decade, Bachmann played regularly. She went whenever she fought with her husband or was just bored. At the tables she was numb and excited, all at once. The high of winning was so immediate. The pain of losing passed so fast. According to Duhigg states First, there is a cue, a trigger that tells your brain to go into automatic mode. Then there is the routine the behavior itself which can be physical or mental or emotional. Finally, there is a reward, which helps ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Contaminated Drinking Water Research Water is necessary to sustain life, but not all water is safe for drinking. Unclean water helps to spread pathogenic diseases. It is especially dangerous in less populated areas where purified water may not be readily available. In these areas, it may fall on the responsibility of the individual to find their own water. People can collect water from streams, rivers, or lakes. The water from these sources, however, is considered unprotected and cannot be consumed right away. Unprotected water sources can easily become contaminated and are unfit for drinking. That is why this water has to be put through purification methods to withdraw all bacteria, chlorine, nitrates, and phosphates in the water. If a person consumes contaminated drinking water... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When measuring for bacteria, results from both the total Coliform count and the Fecal Coliform were collected. Total Coliform accounts for all types of bacteria that is transferred to water by facilitators such as: soils plants and animals, whereas, fecal coliform is found in the intestinal tracts of warm blooded animals. Something should be done about water contamination if any coliform is found in the water (Vermont Dpt. of Health 2014). The EPA has set the standard regulation for coliform in drinking water at zero because of the high levels of risk associated with the presence of bacteria in drinking water,. Nitrate, an additional impurity measured, can also have damaging effects if consumed. Nitrate can enter drinking water from the runoff of fertilizer use, erosion, sewage and the septic tanks leaks. As stated by the Environmental Protection Agency, Symptoms include shortness of breath and blue baby syndrome (EPA 2014). The EPA also sets standard maximum contaminant level at 10 mg/L. When completing the experiment, phosphate, which is naturally occurring in rocks and mineral deposits and is released during erosion processes facilitated by weather and time, was also measured. Excess phosphate can promote an increase in plant growth, and in some cases catalyze the death of fish and other aquatic invertebrates due to the presence of algal blooms. There has been no ... • 48. The Controversial Issue Of Cloning Humans Cloning In discussions of Cloning, one controversial issue has been Cloning Humans. On the one hand, Paul Stark argues that Cloning is wrong and shouldn t be done. On the other hand, Simon Smith contends that we could Clone human organs and put them into cloned pigs so that we have more organs for transplants and many more possibilities. My own view is in the middle of the issue. That I believe Cloning is dangerous and uncertain of the outcome. But the number of benefits from cloning is infinite. For Paul Stark, one controversial issue is cloning. states that cloning is dangerous, wrong, and unnecessary. He thinks this will lead to genetically engineered children used for harvesting organs. Stark believes that we have no need for cloning and that the money spent researching it is wasted money. He also believes that it is wrong to clone for it is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He thinks that if we spend enough time on researching cloning, we can clone human beings with outstanding physical attributes, such as a heart that works better than our own. Also immune systems that will allow us to never get sick. Another benefit is Embryonic stem cells that can grown to produce organs and tissue to replace damaged or missing ones. We could create skin for burn victims, or brain cells for people who have brain damage. The sky s the limit with human cloning. As I do agree with what Mr Smith says about the many medical benefits of human cloning. I also have a great concern for the safety of human testing. Many animals have died due to cloning and this same thing may happen to a human, whether is be the mother that gets injured or the child that is cloned. Either way in the process of researching and testing cloning, there may be many casualties due to misunderstandings and miscalculations. If human cloning is approved for testing sometime in the future, then there are many dangers of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
