Advantage And Disadvantage Of Ci Engine
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
Diesel engine is a very popular prime mover used for surface transportation, agricultural machinery
needs and in industries. Diesel engines of more than 6.5 million units are being used only in the Indian
agricultural sectors for different activities and the import of petroleum products is a major draw off on
our foreign exchange sectors and with increasing demand in future years the condition is likely to
become worse.
Hence, it is an urgent need for a country like India to search for an option to run CI engine using a
different fuel than the conventional and petroleum based diesel and recently biodiesel, as CI engine
fuel alternative, has received more attention among many other possible options. Biodiesel has also ...

There is a reduction in all major measures of air pollution except NOx. Biodiesel is biodegradable
under environmental conditions when spilled, as it is 100% organic product.
1.8.3 Economic Benefits of Biodiesel The biodiesel can be extracted from any material that contains
fatty acids. The various vegetable fats and oils, animal fats, waste greases and edible oil processing
wastes can be used as feedstock for the production of biodiesel. The future needs for imported oil to
manufacture regular diesel fuel could be reduced by the significant use of biodiesel. The cost of
biodiesel is most likely to remain stable than fossil fuel costs in future, as fossil fuel supplies
decreases over time. As biodiesel is produced from agricultural feed stocks, it helps in improving
economy in rural areas. Some minor changes are needed in refuelling structures and spare parts
inventories. It is the only alternative fuel that runs in any conventional unmodified diesel engine.
Based on mutagenicity tests, 90% reduction in cancer risks are possible using biodiesel. Major engine
problems can be attended by the diesel skilled mechanics only.

Analysis Of Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
There is a great deal of tension about the ritual that surrounds the Lottery traditions in Shirley Jackson
s short story, The Lottery. Out of fear and superstition, the lottery ceremony continues to exist. In
short, the lottery is more of a tradition rather than a ritual at the point we witness in the story, but out
of respect and fear for tradition, the towns folks are more than willing to commit an act of mass
violence, simply for the sake of a tradition. Born in San Francisco, California on December 14, 1916,
Shirley Hardie Jackson was born to Leslie and Geraldine Jackson. Jackson was raised in quite a
traditional and well off household, which helped develop themes for later short stories. (Alessio 114)
As a young child Jackson loved the subject of witchcraft, and she often spent hours reading various
books. She spent a decent amount of her childhood writing poetry and short stories, and eventually
moved up north and attended the University of Rochester. (Biography.com) After completing her first
year of college, Jackson decided to take a year off and focus on her literature work before moving to a
new college; Syracuse University. During her brief pause in her education Jackson would at a
minimum, write a thousands of words a day to improve her work. Once the two were married, Hyman
received a job as a professor at Bennington College in North Bennington, Vermont where the two
settled and also modeled the setting for her well known short story The Lottery. On June

Authorship Of Shakespeare
Scholars and experts on literature raise the question of whether or not a commoner like William
Shakespeare really did write all the works credited to his name. The Shakespeare authorship question
has been a controversial topic since the 19th century. Numerous scholars have used literary analysis
techniques and collected data in an attempt to discover the true author of the works credited to
Shakespeare. The fact that there is still continuous work by experts on both sides of the argument
establishes the sincerity of this question and the determination of researchers to find concrete
evidence. Credible research by scholars prove the impossibility that anyone else wrote Shakespeare s
work, negating any Anti Stratfordian argument. Research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Shakespeare Authorship Question , the authors compared works written by Shakespeare to
pieces by other writers of the time period. On the statistical side, the correspondence of word lengths
between Shakespeare and these other authors was significantly different. The researchers found that
Shakespeare was one of the few authors that used more 4 letter words than any other size (2)
contrasting to the higher use of 3 letter words with both Marlowe and Bacon. For Edward de Vere, the
word length analysis showed a slightly higher correspondence; however, the character distribution
between the two writers did not match. For de Vere, the researchers analyzed 600 lines of poetry,
while with Shakespeare they analyzed 9000 lines of prose from his plays. This unequal comparison
shows that not only did the authors have different styles, but they also wrote different genres making it
unlikely that they were the same person. Other scholars come up with a different reason why there
could be some correspondence between writers. Carol Rutter presents the idea that Shakespeare
collaborated not with another playwright, but with the actors (3) whose voices may have been
influenced by that of another playwright of the time. The actors most likely heard or read the plays
and writings of other authors such as Bacon, Marlowe, and de Vere, which may have influenced their
voices. Not only that, but the other possible authors also wrote their own plays and works. It would
have been very difficult for these authors to have written their own works along with all of
Shakespeare s. Careful analysis of texts and pieces written by other writers conclude that these other
authors could not have been

Abstract: In this paper voltage stability is evaluated b v both dynamic P V curves and time domain
simulations, considering the combined dynamic control effects of a static compensator (SZ4TCOh!)
and transformer on load taps (OLT). The studied system is heavily loaded at hvo locations and an 80
Mvar STA TCOM is connected to improve the voltage stability of entire s~stem for a contingency of a
three terminal line outage. The resu[ts presented in this paper: (a) show that a STA TCOM can greatly
improve the voltage stability of a heavily loaded system, (b) quantl~ the combined impacts of
SZ4TCOM and OLT control: (c) illustrate that the margin of stability can be easily and effectively
evaluated by P V curves; (d) correlate tirnedomain simulations and P V curves for a system with a
STATCOM and OLT dynamic control. Keywords: FACTS, STATCOM, Voltage Stability, PV Curve,

Asking For Roses Analysis
Moses Supposes, But Do You Ask for Roses:
A Stylistic and Thematic Interpretation of Asking for Roses
A rose is a rose is a rose. A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. Love is like a wild rose
briar. Roses are known for their complex features: beauty with ferocious thorns. For this reason, love
has come to be symbolized through a rose; a red, red rose. In Robert Frost s poem Asking for Roses,
the roses are a central symbol to understanding the themes of love and opportunity. The musicality of
the poem employs stylistic choices which also contribute to the poet s messages of the piece:
Opportunities are there for the taking, but if you don t rise to the occasion, nothing will be
accomplished; and a relationship requires ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As roses are a symbol of love, and summer time is a common time for marriages to occur, it is not a
far stretch for Tis summer again; there s two come for roses (Frost 16) to mean the two characters may
be planning a wedding. Receiving the blessing of parents is a quintessential component of an
engagement, and by the end of the poem the characters are perceived as having gained this blessing.
And grants us by silence the boon of her roses (Frost 24). While it may be a small stretch to apply the
concept of marriage to this poem, there are evidently high signs of love present. When Mary is talking
about a maid s knowledge that A flower unplucked is but left to the falling (Frost 19), she may mean
to say that a maid not married is left on her own. She continues to point out that nothing is gained
(Frost 20) if a maid is on her own. The opportunities that marriage provides are not available to a girl
unplucked. Love therefore is not only an emotion, but also an opportunity. Through the theme of love,
another theme is revealed.
Although roses show the theme of love, there is another theme present. Finding the opportunity in
love is evident in A flower unplucked is but left to the falling,/And nothing is gained by not gathering
roses (Frost 19 20). When you do not take a chance, nothing is lost, but nothing is gained either. Roses
provide the beginning connection of love and opportunity, but the theme of

King s Declaration , The does not think it is possible to govern a kingdom of such great extent and

Kant s Categorical Imperative For Moral Knowledge
Kant s Categorical Imperative outlines a significant section of his ethics, concerning the search for
moral knowledge. This is a mechanism used in accordance with knowing how we ought to act, rather
than how we act instinctively through desires and appetites. The identification of the Categorical
Imperative is found through rationality and indeed must be equally applicable for all reasonable
human beings. Within this essay, I will initially outline Kant s first formulation of the Categorical
Imperative then proceed to show that its credibility as an account of moral obligation is lacking.
On account of Kant s first formulation of the Categorical Imperative; the Formula of the Universal
Law of Nature, certain decisions can only be made if they, act only on that maxim through which you
can at the same tie will that it should become a Universal Law . Understanding a maxim as a principle
or rule on which you take action, for example: I will make it my maxim only to act in a respectful
manner toward my parents. The idea is that rules that cannot be maintained for a number of means
should be discarded, as a moral obligation is an obligation for all. It is obvious to all that in order for a
principle to have any force in regard to morality, it must carry with it absolute necessity (1898:130). If
not, the obligation itself, as Kant declares, is easily doubted. Empirical ethics isn t sufficient. An
example commonly used refers to the instruction, thou shalt not lie . In that,

I have been able to really figure out in depth what my calling is and what the next step in life might

those who live that lifestyle. I came to the conclusion that although I strongly disagree with that way
of living, I do not think that it is our job or our position to try and make them live the way we do. That
was something that I went back and forth with ever since I moved to Mississippi. I moved at the end
of my junior year, and the only person that talked to me was Colten Nugent, and Colten was gay. We
became super close and he knew my view on his decisions but not once did I feel like it was my place
to tell him to stop. He believed in the Lord and I think that things like addiction and homosexuality are
things that the Lord has to work through with the person, not people. I discovered through this class
that this is a social issue that I am passionate about. Although, I do still believe that we should set a
good example of what being a Christian should be. This was a topic that was very apparent throughout
the book by Kevin Roose, The Unlikely Disciple. I think my biggest pet peeve when it comes to

The First Of A New Historical Period
With the repeated financial crises that effected the global market economy in resent years, and with
the realization that many of the practices, behaviors, and political decision that led to the economic
crisis in the first place are still in place, one can only wonder if capitalism as an economic, social, and
political structure is coming to an end as we know it? What makes this predication more realistic now
than ever is the political changes that we are witnessing and the lack of social stability that is affecting
every corner of the planet; it seems that the seeds of change were already planted, and now we are
witnessing the early stages of a new historical period. However, a system, like capitalism, that became
part of the very nature of how societies function and exist is hard to overcome. In addition, this
unstable era is not the first for the capitalist system. In fact, lack of stability and conflict during WWII
only allowed capitalist countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, to emerge stronger, more dominant, and
more hegemonic. Thus, why would this period of time could by any different from the previous crises
that the capitalist system faced and overcame?
These debates have dominated the political economy field in the recent years, and in this paper, I will
attempt to cover some of the main argument in support of each of these points of view.
Many argued that capitalism, as we know it, in all of it variations and models, has came to an end.
Capitalism, as Marx had

Watershed Event Research Paper
The Merriam Webster online dictionary defines watershed as a time when an important change
happens. A watershed event can be described as an event marking an important change of course,
often times one on which important changes and developments depend. It is often referred to as a
turning point. The watershed event that I have researched is the end of apartheid. Apartheid is an
Afrikaans word, meaning the state of being apart. Apartheid was a system of racial segregation in
South Africa. This system was enforced by the NP (National Party,) the party that governed the nation
from 1948 1994. When this system was in effect, the residents of South Africa were divided by their
race, and forced to live apart from each other. Under apartheid, ... Show more content on

However, while the segregation laws were no longer in effect, racism was still quite prominent in the
nation. While the laws changed, many people s ways of thinking unfortunately did not. Even though
people of different races were no longer living apart from each other and using separate public
facilities, that did not change people s views. But although progress was slow, it was still happening.
South Africa has come along way since the days of apartheid, and although there is still a long way to
go, it is clear that significant change has occurred due to this watershed

To what extent was late 19th century and early 20th century US expansionism a continuation of past
US expansionism and to what extent was it a departure? Over the years the United States
expansionism has experienced many different changes. The United States has expanded for many
different reasons such as the economy, land, and even God. Expansionism is now a continuation of
past United States expansionism but was more so a departure. The United States has progressed
economically and as a result methods of expansionism have evolved but it also tried to stay with the
ideals of the forefathers. In Document C the importance of naval power is expressed and it outlines the

All of the major departures show hints of the United States forefather s ideals. The expansion into
foreign lands comes from Manifest Destiny and the idea that the Anglo Saxon, or WASP, was
mandated by God to expand into these territories. In Document B it states that The race of unequalled
energy, with all the majesty of numbers and the might of wealth behind it the representative, let us
hope, of the largest liberty, the purest Christianity, the highest civilization. Although the continuation
of the United States expansionism was limited, they continued to stay true to the Monroe Doctrine.
The Roosevelt Corollary comes directly from the Monroe Doctrine which protected the rights of
struggling Latin American countries and their fights for freedom. Chronic wrongdoing, or an
impotence which results in a general loosening of the ties of civilized society, may in America, as
elsewhere, ultimately require intervention by some civilized nation, and in the Western Hemisphere
the adherence of the United States to the Monroe Doctrine may force the United States, however
reluctantly, in flagrant cases of such wrongdoing or impotence, to the exercise of international police
power. This is stated in Document F. Like anything in the world with good continuations comes bad
continuations, for example the people of the United States never fully recognized immigrants or

Comparison Of The Squire And The Canterbury Tales
In the late 14th century that is represented in Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, the most
perceived element of a true gentleman was conceivably chivalry. This element is demonstrated in two
of the many characters in the story, the Knight and the Squire. The Knight and the Squire are father
and son who are both members of the aristocrat class; both ride honorably on their horses and have the
aura of a true gentleman, but despite their similarities, they are different. Though the Knight and the
Squire share the same profession and are both members of the same aristocratic class, they differ in
the fact that the Knight portrays the ideal society while the Squire displays the reality of society.
Although the Knight and the Squire both possess the same occupation, they exhibit disparate
approaches in relation to devotion. In regard of battles, it was the prime objective in the Knight s
description, whereas in the Squire s, was barely a significant component. All of the Squire s
involvement amidst the military is very shortly revealed saying that he had seen some service with the
calvary/ In Flanders and Artois and Picardy, (Chaucer 87 88) while the Knight s list of battles is the
focus in his description. The Knight traveled along the Mediterranean coast (Chaucer 61) to multiple
regions including Russia, North Africa, Anatolia, etc. and also fought in fifteen mortal battles
(Chaucer 63) and always killed his men (Chaucer 65) showing evidence of his devotion to

The Basement At The End Of The World Essay
The basement at the bottom at the end of the world is a play written by Nadine Graham that portrays
an apocalyptic drama. In this play a young black woman named Daneen and a white man named Paul,
are thrown together in the rubble of civilization. They will have to attempt to bridge the differences
between them or their culture biases may keep them forever at each other s throats. The play takes
place in a basement that looks as if it were hit by an earthquake. Daneen, a teen black girl walks in
yelling hello? with a white rag doll in her hand. While in the basement, Daneen begins to look for
food when she was startled by Paul with a gun. From first sight, Daneen and Paul judged each other
based on stereotypes. At this point of the play both characters are full of uncertain with each other full
of biases toward each other that have been learned over their lives. The world is ending due to Earth

Crime is on the rise, which includes looting. Daneen insisted she was not looting, but in Paul s mind
black people steal. For example, the first things Paul says to Daneen is, Freeze! Who the hell are you
and what are you doing in my house? What are you, a looter? (231). In other words, without having
any information, Paul made up in his mind that she was a thief. This is important because it sets the
scene for the stereotypes to come. In return to Paul s quick judgement, Daneen stereotyped him as
being weak. This was shown when Daneen called his bluff and instead of freezing she turned to leave.
While Daneen was leaving, Paul shouts, Get back down here Now! Or I ll shoot, I swear to God!
(234). I believe Paul said this for several reasons. The first reason is because he felt territorial towards
his home. The last thing he wants is a looter disrespecting his home. In Paul s mind black people loot,
when he seen a black person (Daneen) he assumed that s what she was doing. Another reason I believe
he wanted Daneen to stay is because the

Dolphins in Captivity
Introduction
Most people are fascinated with dolphins and crave to see them in Sea World, or another aquarium,
and even enjoy seeing them perform in shows. However, most people do not think about the harm that
dolphins go through in order for the public to see them. Dolphins go through an immense amount of
physical and mental harm solely for our entertainment. I never thought about the harm they go through
when I first saw dolphins perform in a show. I, like most people my age, simply assumed that the
aquariums actually cared for the dolphins. However, people that believe this are naïve. We enjoy the
shows so much that we do not want to think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In captivity, they can only swim around in circles, instead of swimming miles and miles each day, so
they do not get nearly enough exercise. Dolphins often go insane from the huge adjustment to living in
a very small space. In captivity, dolphins are not able to hunt for their food like they are in the wild,
and they are fed fish that are already dead. Dr. Lori Marino explains, they really enjoy the opportunity
to collaborate with each other and catch prey and travel with their companions (Dr. Lori Marino). This
stimulation is taken away when dolphins are in captivity. Also, dolphins are forced to spend most of
their time at the surface of the tank because tanks are not nearly as deep as the ocean. Dolphins spend
more than half their time at the tank s surface (The Humane Society). This can cause dolphins to
obtain skin problems. Dolphins can also get skin problems from the large amount of chlorine in the
tank because they are not used to it. Living in such a small in captivity tank can cause dolphins a lot of
harm because they are meant to live in the large ocean.
In captivity, most dolphins get split up from their family and are forced to live alone, or with other
dolphins that they do not know. According to the Humane Society, It is almost impossible to maintain
a family group in captivity (The Humane Society). Dolphins tend to live in pods when they are in the
wild, and when they are brought into captivity they are split from the rest of the

The European Union And Foreign Policy
The European Union is an organization unlike any other which includes an economic and political
union between many different countries in Europe. It operates as a single institution with one foreign
policy although it is composed of 28 individual countries with their own foreign policies. This paper,
therefore, seeks to understand the institutional organization of the European Union in regards to
foreign policy as well as provide an analysis of the actions the EU takes in its diplomacy.
The EU has an interesting, albeit confusing, system in which it operates. In order to understand the
organization of its foreign policy, we must look into the different institutions which govern the EU and
explain their roles. First, there is the European Commission, which is composed of 28 ministers from
each country and manages the day to day business of the EU as well as drafting proposals. The
President of the European Commission is essentially seen as the head of the EU. It is designed to
represent the EU as a whole. The European Council is composed of the president or prime minister of
each member country and represents each countries interests. The President of the Commission and
the High Representative of Foreign Affairs sit as nonvoting council members. Then the Council of the
European Union, which is a separate entity from the European Union Council, is made up of
representatives from each country which are ministers for a specific subject. They pass EU laws and
approve the

High Tech Companies Like Arm Are Often Cited As Great...
6. High tech companies like ARM are often cited as great examples of UK success. What drawbacks
does such an emphasis have? Although high technology manufacturing (and by extension high tech
companies that operate in that sector) is a good way for the UK to improve its productivity (output per
labour force) and its global competitiveness [6], too much emphasis on high tech companies present
possible drawbacks. Firstly, there is a mismatch in skills required by the high tech industry and the
actual skillsets of the UK labour force. Only 27.2% of the UK population aged 16 to 74 have a degree
or equivalent or higher [2]. Taking cognizance of the fact that most high tech jobs require at least a
degree, undue emphasis on that sector neglects the other 72.8% of the population. And this neglect has
dire consequences. As evidenced by the recent UK referendum vote to leave the EU and the rise of the
US presidential candidate Donald Trump, if a substantial part of the population feel left behind or
disillusioned with the economy, it can lead to political unrest, and possible negative populist decisions
that can hurt the general economy. Generally, businesses do not thrive under uncertainties. The
political uncertainty brought about by the recent UK referendum was cited by business leaders as the
top risk facing UK businesses [6]. These political risks negatively affect the general economy, in terms
of both reductions in GDP growth and value of the UK pounds sterling. Another

Comparing Odysseus and Spiderman
Heroes in Action: Odysseus Spiderman The late actor, Christopher Reeve, once stated, A hero is an
ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
In the epic, Odyssey, by Homer and the film, Spiderman, directed by Sam Raimi, the crux of the
storyline relates to a hero and the challenges they face along the way. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is the
main character. The epic tale outlines his travels as he attempts to travel back to his home against the
will of some gods. In Spiderman, Peter Parker is the main character. He undergoes a transformation
from a human to spider like characteristics and abilities. Peter Parker devotes his life to saving others
who are in need. Although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Peter Parker s mentor is his Uncle Ben. Peter is always remembering little things that his uncle has
told him in the past years when he was alive, such as with great power comes great responsibility. The
difference in the two characters mentors is that Odysseus has an actual mentor that he can see and
listen to in person and Peter s mentor is someone that he can only faintly remember and recall the
things he said in the past. Along with Odysseus s and Spiderman s mentors, they also have allies.
Odysseus s allies are the Phaecians. After Odysseus s ship is destroyed, he swims to the island
Scheria, home of the Phaecians, and is warmly welcomed, fed, given gifts, and set off in a great ship
to his home, Ithaca. Spiderman s allies are the citizens of Queens, New York who believe in him as
being a hero and not a villain. The resemblance in the two characters is that their allies are not just one
person in particular but a group of people. By the end of the heroes journey, Odysseus and Peter go
through tests, temptations, and the development of enemies. Odysseus is tested in controlling his men
and getting them to do the right thing as well as of himself and his boastfulness. He is also tested on
overcoming his fears when needing to enter the underworld. Additionally, Spiderman is scrutinized on
saving people and building his name as the city s hero. These two characters are related in the fact that

Comparing The Storm God And The Serpent
The primary source I was assigned is The Storm God and the Serpent and is a Hittite source. In broad
terms, this story is telling the long battle between the Storm god and the serpent. This, like many
stories we have read and talked about is a constant struggle between good and evil , with both parties
taking the upper hand at some point. This story does have some different elements that include love
and family hardship that add to the story line. This next section will talk about the battle between the
Storm god and the serpent. At the beginning of the story the serpent smote or hit the Storm god in the
town of Kiskilussa (Line 3). This set the whole battle into motion that the story is based off of. At first
it seems like the Storm god is going to let the serpent get away with the hit and just forget it happens.
The Storm god calls all of the gods to him for the feast of purulli (line 4). Inara had made so much
food and drink that she invited the serpent to come and eat as well. During the festival the serpent ate
and drank so much that it was not possible for him to return to his hole in the ground. Hupasiya tied
up the serpent and the Storm god slewed the serpent. (There is 40 damaged lines building up to the
next part, but I believe one year has lapsed and they are starting the next purulli festival (Line 20).
This is when the serpent came ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As we talked about in class with the thousand gods of Hatti , the Hittite people had many gods. In the
text when the Storm god was hit by the serpent he called all the gods to stand with him during the
festival and after the serpent was tied up, all of the gods stood behind him in killing he serpent. This
shows how important the vast number was and that people almost wanted quantity over quality. I
wander how this played in other areas other than fighting? Weather? Super Natural forces?

Julius Caesar Character Analysis
In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar we read about how William Shakespeare uses the book to portray
many different characteristics or themes through the characters he writes about. Shakespeare is known
as one of the most successful and greatest writers of his time. Having wrote over 37 plays and 154
sonnets in his lifetime which would make it seem to be true. The works surveyed in the preceding
pages have given Shakespeare his status as the greatest writer in English, perhaps in any language.
Like most great artists, he built on foundations laid by other men. The play was set in 44 B.C. Rome.
In the play he as some of the things he writes about is companionship, envy, and betrayal. He shows
these themes through the charters Brutus, Julius, Mark Antony, and Cassius. Julius Caesar was a
skilled writer and was one of the most literate and cultured men of his age. Julius Caesar rose to
prominence through his abilities as a military general and politician to become first emperor of Rome
He was a great leader who was very much appreciated in his time. The story developed was that when
the death of his daughter, Julia, occurred his trust towards Pompey started to deteriorate and he
eventually killed him. With his death, Caesar was made dictator for life. After being crowned, he was
murdered by the conspirators including Brutus (a good friend of his) on March 15, 44 BCE. Caesar
again recorded the battles and political intrigue of this war in his De bellum civile. During his

The Hobbit Life Lessons
What can a story teach us about life? Some stories are considered to distract us from reality and bring
us into a world of freedom. The Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkien is thought by some to be a piece of literature
that is represented as an escapist story. But yet, the novel teaches the reader many valuable life lessons
that can benefit our personal lives. Many of the characters go through changes in the story that end up
changing the way they look at life, the characters themselves create emotional distress among each
other and how the individual self actions change who they are. The Hobbit isn t just a fantasy story for
fun, it teaches us the morals of life and interactions with people.

Persuasion. Persuasion is the key to getting to where you need to go or what you need. Bilbo uses it to
free himself from golem when he was in the cave. Not only does he use persuasion he uses his guts.
Bilbo goes against what he has always believed in for the good of others and mainly himself. When
the dwarves got taken by the spiders and Bilbo freed them he made a bold move all by himself.
Tolkien is trying to tell us that in life you need to go with your gut and do what needs to be done.
Bilbo didnt have to save them but he did. If your friends were trapped in a spider web would you go
help them? Of course you would. The message is that you can t be afraid to do things because if you
don t you will regret it.
The hobbit is a story about adventure and bravery. Bilbo experiences many things that changes his
life. Many of the characters go through changes in the story that end up changing the way they look at
life just when Bilbo was given the opportunity to go on the quest and he did. The characters
themselves create emotional distress just like when Thorin died. The most important thing that
happened was the character s own choice. The hobbit just isn t a fantasy that means nothing, it is a
story that divines what a person should be. Bilbo acts strong with all of hurdles that he endures and

  • 2. Advantage And Disadvantage Of Ci Engine Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION Diesel engine is a very popular prime mover used for surface transportation, agricultural machinery needs and in industries. Diesel engines of more than 6.5 million units are being used only in the Indian agricultural sectors for different activities and the import of petroleum products is a major draw off on our foreign exchange sectors and with increasing demand in future years the condition is likely to become worse. Hence, it is an urgent need for a country like India to search for an option to run CI engine using a different fuel than the conventional and petroleum based diesel and recently biodiesel, as CI engine fuel alternative, has received more attention among many other possible options. Biodiesel has also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a reduction in all major measures of air pollution except NOx. Biodiesel is biodegradable under environmental conditions when spilled, as it is 100% organic product. 1.8.3 Economic Benefits of Biodiesel The biodiesel can be extracted from any material that contains fatty acids. The various vegetable fats and oils, animal fats, waste greases and edible oil processing wastes can be used as feedstock for the production of biodiesel. The future needs for imported oil to manufacture regular diesel fuel could be reduced by the significant use of biodiesel. The cost of biodiesel is most likely to remain stable than fossil fuel costs in future, as fossil fuel supplies decreases over time. As biodiesel is produced from agricultural feed stocks, it helps in improving economy in rural areas. Some minor changes are needed in refuelling structures and spare parts inventories. It is the only alternative fuel that runs in any conventional unmodified diesel engine. Based on mutagenicity tests, 90% reduction in cancer risks are possible using biodiesel. Major engine problems can be attended by the diesel skilled mechanics only. 1.9 Quality Facet of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Analysis Of Shirley Jackson s The Lottery There is a great deal of tension about the ritual that surrounds the Lottery traditions in Shirley Jackson s short story, The Lottery. Out of fear and superstition, the lottery ceremony continues to exist. In short, the lottery is more of a tradition rather than a ritual at the point we witness in the story, but out of respect and fear for tradition, the towns folks are more than willing to commit an act of mass violence, simply for the sake of a tradition. Born in San Francisco, California on December 14, 1916, Shirley Hardie Jackson was born to Leslie and Geraldine Jackson. Jackson was raised in quite a traditional and well off household, which helped develop themes for later short stories. (Alessio 114) As a young child Jackson loved the subject of witchcraft, and she often spent hours reading various books. She spent a decent amount of her childhood writing poetry and short stories, and eventually moved up north and attended the University of Rochester. (Biography.com) After completing her first year of college, Jackson decided to take a year off and focus on her literature work before moving to a new college; Syracuse University. During her brief pause in her education Jackson would at a minimum, write a thousands of words a day to improve her work. Once the two were married, Hyman received a job as a professor at Bennington College in North Bennington, Vermont where the two settled and also modeled the setting for her well known short story The Lottery. • 8. Authorship Of Shakespeare Scholars and experts on literature raise the question of whether or not a commoner like William Shakespeare really did write all the works credited to his name. The Shakespeare authorship question has been a controversial topic since the 19th century. Numerous scholars have used literary analysis techniques and collected data in an attempt to discover the true author of the works credited to Shakespeare. The fact that there is still continuous work by experts on both sides of the argument establishes the sincerity of this question and the determination of researchers to find concrete evidence. Credible research by scholars prove the impossibility that anyone else wrote Shakespeare s work, negating any Anti Stratfordian argument. Research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Shakespeare Authorship Question , the authors compared works written by Shakespeare to pieces by other writers of the time period. On the statistical side, the correspondence of word lengths between Shakespeare and these other authors was significantly different. The researchers found that Shakespeare was one of the few authors that used more 4 letter words than any other size (2) contrasting to the higher use of 3 letter words with both Marlowe and Bacon. For Edward de Vere, the word length analysis showed a slightly higher correspondence; however, the character distribution between the two writers did not match. For de Vere, the researchers analyzed 600 lines of poetry, while with Shakespeare they analyzed 9000 lines of prose from his plays. This unequal comparison shows that not only did the authors have different styles, but they also wrote different genres making it unlikely that they were the same person. Other scholars come up with a different reason why there could be some correspondence between writers. Carol Rutter presents the idea that Shakespeare collaborated not with another playwright, but with the actors (3) whose voices may have been influenced by that of another playwright of the time. The actors most likely heard or read the plays and writings of other authors such as Bacon, Marlowe, and de Vere, which may have influenced their voices. Not only that, but the other possible authors also wrote their own plays and works. It would have been very difficult for these authors to have written their own works along with all of Shakespeare s. Study of a STATCOM Application for Voltage Stability Evaluated S.Rajasekqar, Assoc Professor HOD, NIST, Nagole, Hyderabad Abstract: In this paper voltage stability is evaluated b v both dynamic P V curves and time domain simulations, considering the combined dynamic control effects of a static compensator (SZ4TCOh!) and transformer on load taps (OLT). The studied system is heavily loaded at hvo locations and an 80 Mvar STA TCOM is connected to improve the voltage stability of entire s~stem for a contingency of a three terminal line outage. The resu[ts presented in this paper: (a) show that a STA TCOM can greatly improve the voltage stability of a heavily loaded system, (b) quantl~ the combined impacts of SZ4TCOM and OLT control: (c) illustrate that the margin of stability can be easily and effectively evaluated by P V curves; (d) correlate tirnedomain simulations and P V curves for a system with a STATCOM and OLT dynamic control. A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. Love is like a wild rose briar. Roses are known for their complex features: beauty with ferocious thorns. For this reason, love has come to be symbolized through a rose; a red, red rose. In Robert Frost s poem Asking for Roses, the roses are a central symbol to understanding the themes of love and opportunity. The musicality of the poem employs stylistic choices which also contribute to the poet s messages of the piece: Opportunities are there for the taking, but if you don t rise to the occasion, nothing will be accomplished; and a relationship requires ... As roses are a symbol of love, and summer time is a common time for marriages to occur, it is not a far stretch for Tis summer again; there s two come for roses (Frost 16) to mean the two characters may be planning a wedding. Receiving the blessing of parents is a quintessential component of an engagement, and by the end of the poem the characters are perceived as having gained this blessing. And grants us by silence the boon of her roses (Frost 24). While it may be a small stretch to apply the concept of marriage to this poem, there are evidently high signs of love present. When Mary is talking about a maid s knowledge that A flower unplucked is but left to the falling (Frost 19), she may mean to say that a maid not married is left on her own. She continues to point out that nothing is gained (Frost 20) if a maid is on her own. The opportunities that marriage provides are not available to a girl unplucked. Love therefore is not only an emotion, but also an opportunity. Through the theme of love, another theme is revealed. Although roses show the theme of love, there is another theme present. Finding the opportunity in love is evident in A flower unplucked is but left to the falling,/And nothing is gained by not gathering roses (Frost 19 20). This is a mechanism used in accordance with knowing how we ought to act, rather than how we act instinctively through desires and appetites. The identification of the Categorical Imperative is found through rationality and indeed must be equally applicable for all reasonable human beings. Within this essay, I will initially outline Kant s first formulation of the Categorical Imperative then proceed to show that its credibility as an account of moral obligation is lacking. On account of Kant s first formulation of the Categorical Imperative; the Formula of the Universal Law of Nature, certain decisions can only be made if they, act only on that maxim through which you can at the same tie will that it should become a Universal Law . Understanding a maxim as a principle or rule on which you take action, for example: I will make it my maxim only to act in a respectful manner toward my parents. The idea is that rules that cannot be maintained for a number of means should be discarded, as a moral obligation is an obligation for all. It is obvious to all that in order for a principle to have any force in regard to morality, it must carry with it absolute necessity (1898:130). If not, the obligation itself, as Kant declares, is easily doubted. Empirical ethics isn t sufficient. An example commonly used refers to the instruction, thou shalt not lie . In that, ... The First Of A New Historical Period With the repeated financial crises that effected the global market economy in resent years, and with the realization that many of the practices, behaviors, and political decision that led to the economic crisis in the first place are still in place, one can only wonder if capitalism as an economic, social, and political structure is coming to an end as we know it? What makes this predication more realistic now than ever is the political changes that we are witnessing and the lack of social stability that is affecting every corner of the planet; it seems that the seeds of change were already planted, and now we are witnessing the early stages of a new historical period. However, a system, like capitalism, that became part of the very nature of how societies function and exist is hard to overcome. In addition, this unstable era is not the first for the capitalist system. In fact, lack of stability and conflict during WWII only allowed capitalist countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, to emerge stronger, more dominant, and more hegemonic. Thus, why would this period of time could by any different from the previous crises that the capitalist system faced and overcame? These debates have dominated the political economy field in the recent years, and in this paper, I will attempt to cover some of the main argument in support of each of these points of view. Although high technology manufacturing (and by extension high tech companies that operate in that sector) is a good way for the UK to improve its productivity (output per labour force) and its global competitiveness [6], too much emphasis on high tech companies present possible drawbacks. Firstly, there is a mismatch in skills required by the high tech industry and the actual skillsets of the UK labour force. Only 27.2% of the UK population aged 16 to 74 have a degree or equivalent or higher [2]. Taking cognizance of the fact that most high tech jobs require at least a degree, undue emphasis on that sector neglects the other 72.8% of the population. And this neglect has dire consequences. As evidenced by the recent UK referendum vote to leave the EU and the rise of the US presidential candidate Donald Trump, if a substantial part of the population feel left behind or disillusioned with the economy, it can lead to political unrest, and possible negative populist decisions that can hurt the general economy. Generally, businesses do not thrive under uncertainties. The political uncertainty brought about by the recent UK referendum was cited by business leaders as the top risk facing UK businesses [6]. These political risks negatively affect the general economy, in terms of both reductions in GDP growth and value of the UK pounds sterling. Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In broad terms, this story is telling the long battle between the Storm god and the serpent. This, like many stories we have read and talked about is a constant struggle between good and evil , with both parties taking the upper hand at some point. This story does have some different elements that include love and family hardship that add to the story line. This next section will talk about the battle between the Storm god and the serpent. At the beginning of the story the serpent smote or hit the Storm god in the town of Kiskilussa (Line 3). This set the whole battle into motion that the story is based off of. At first it seems like the Storm god is going to let the serpent get away with the hit and just forget it happens. The Storm god calls all of the gods to him for the feast of purulli (line 4).
