2. There is a clear sense of brand identity
portrayed throughout my three products
as they all include the characters featured
within the film trailer this makes the
products distinguishably the same as the
people can be recognised from the film
‘Hunted’ and therefore know that they are
all linked together.
Also through the technical elements such
as the use of mid-shots and clos-ups
which help to portray a tense and
dangerous atmosphere which shows that
they are all part of the same promotional
package as they are all trying to achieve
the purpose of creating tension.
Also there is a brand identity present as
they all follow the same theme/criteria in
which a low-key and dark theme is
present throughout the ancillary’s and the
film trailer as they all try and create the
same effect upon the audience.
Furthermore the same house-style is
used across the three products as the text
is bold but in a sans serif font style. This
shows how the products are similar and a
brand identity is clearly present
throughout.
3. Costume: The costumes used throughout the
three products are consistently plain and dark
which is typical for the horror genre as they are
less visible which increases the tension and
vulnerability of the characters. The antagonist has
typically dark clothing which is a key convention.
The costumes are consistent throughout the three
products which shows that there is a clear sense
of brand identity as the same ideas are implied
throughout.
Lighting: In both ancillaries and the film trailer
there is low-key lighting used as it is a typical
feature of the horror genre as it heightens the
tension upon the audience and implies something
bad will happen. This idea/feature is carried out
across the three products as they are all dark
which shows that there is a consistent theme and
brand identity running throughout the products.
Make-up: In both of the ancillary images there is
blood used on the characters and also in the film
trailer, this is used to create a sense of brand
identity in which they all create a ‘shock’ effect on
the audience as the characters are in danger. This
is a typical feature of the horror genre however
shows that the three products follow the same
criteria.

4. There is a consistent house-style carried out across the
ancillaries and film trailer. The title screens within the trailer
are in a bold font style and a sans serif text which is a typical
features used in other horror magazines and posters. This
style is also used in both the film poster and magazine in
which all of the text is capitalised and in a sans serif font style,
so that a consistent house-style is maintained and is
conventional to the genre.
This shows that there is a brand identity present throughout
my three products as they all follow the same style of text and
colour therefore the audience will be able to distinguish that
they are part of the same promotional package.
The fonts are all in the same colour as they are used to create
a contrast of colour upon the dark black background. This
makes the text stand out and catch the eye of the reader. This
technique is used in all of my products which again shows that
there is a brand identity present.
5. In both of my ancillaries a dark black
background is used to create a contrast in
colour between the text which makes it
stand out and appeal to the audience.
Both of my ancillary
products follow a similar
colour-scheme in which
the title, slogan and text
are all the same colour
in order to create a
brand identity that is
easily distinguishable.
I have ensured that in both of my ancillaries
the content/text is clear and easily visible for
the reader. I have done this by putting the
white text on a black background to make it
stand out. I have followed this technique
thoroughly in my ancillaries as it creates visual
appeal.
I have included blood
within my ancillaries as
they are amplified on
the black background
which creates a bigger
impact on the audience.
Also it makes the image
more effective in its
purpose of intrigue and
shock. This feature is
used in my products
which shows there is a
brand identity present.
6. To sum up, I have effectively created a
brand identity across my film poster,
magazine and film trailer through the
use of character imagery, font style,
colour-scheme and house-style and the
aim and message I am trying to portray
through these features within my
products. Also through the themes that I
have incorporated within my products
such as shock, horror, tension and
drama which are all conventional and
commonly used in horror products.
All of these brand signifiers help
promote my products in which if the
audience see an image or font style they
will immediately distinguish that it is
from ‘Hunted’. Through the features that
I have carried out through my products I
believe this is evident and is clear to the
audience that I have create a unique
brand identity.
