1. How effective is the
combination of your main
product and
ancillary texts?
Question Two
2. It was important for all of my products to
share the same genre and features
throughout, this is so the target audience
can easily identify with the products. An
example of this is that the style of all the
texts is similar. This is important because if
the audience likes one of the products its
more likely that they will like them all.
3. My texts
Within all of my products there are features that
complement each other and make a good
combination. The main one is the title of the film.
The title has the same text and is used throughout
the three products with the name of the film. Within
this, there is also use of the same colour scheme
throughout the texts. This makes the three texts look
more professional due to their uniformity and also
helps the audience identify with all three.
4. Poster and magazine
Within these two products, the same text and colour
are used in all of them, however, I have made them
aesthetically different in terms of the pictures used
and the design. This is shown as the picture in my
poster is a wide shot and the picture in my magazine
is a mid shot of the three characters. Even though
they are very different, they help present the well.
This wide shot on the poster helps the create a
decent understanding of the films setting even
without watching the trailer. Whereas on the
magazine the mid shot shows the audience the
relationship between the characters and tells the
audience that this is an underlying theme in the film.
5. Actors
When shooting the photos for my poster and
magazine, I made sure that the same actors were
used and made sure the pictures were shot at the live
set just as the trailer was, which is a convention of
social realism. This helps add to the similarities
within the three texts.
