Summary Of Christological Statements In Colossians
In providing Christological statements in Colossians, Paul concluded that Jesus Christ is the image of
the invisible God and the firstborn of all creation. Different religious sects provide their own
interpretations of this passage. Jehovah Witnesses, and the Arians of the fourth century, believe that
God first created Jesus Christ; therefore, He is the firstborn of creation. Mormons state that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God and of God s goddess wife. Thus, they consider Jesus Christ as their elder
brother. These interpretations reveal that Jesus Christ is a creation and consequently a lesser God, as
the Jehovah Witnesses believe, or that Jesus Christ is another God and subsequently believing in
polytheism, as the Mormons appear to believe.

Technology Over Time Will Reduce Demand For Jobs
Technology over time will reduce demand for jobs, particularly at the lower end of skill set. ... 20
years from now, labor demand for lots of skill sets will be substantially lower (Bort). This is not for
only simple jobs. On such example of discovery, which is where a lawyer has to search through
documents and make connections. This is already being automated in many firms, and is a large part
of lawyering, as well as estimating the risk of lawsuits. These are all things computers are naturally
better at than humans, and with the ability of teach themselves to sort information by looking through
it, which is esactly what machine learning does, poses a very large risk for the lawyers of today.

But in the 21st century, if we find more affordable and accessible ways of doing so, we should
embrace them rather than reject them (Susskind). In an interview with Therese Breza, a nurse in the
healthcare system, she countered with the belief that human interaction is a vital part of healthcare,
and that her patients and people she has worked with value such interactions. However, with the
increasing complexity of healthcare and possibility of unncessary or even dangerous treatments,
Susskind s countering that the most valuable part of professional experience is the professional
knowledge means that machines that are always learning from each other and studies and effects of
medicine on other medicines or humans shows that the supposedly valuable part of healthcare can still
be present in the form of being a sort of front for a much more data heavy treatment plan managed by
the most up to date and consistent methods in medical science, and humans can carry out what is
needed. While the incentive so automate specialists such as surgeons is low, and not all doctors will go
away, if a tablet has an app that is as good as a doctor, the security of such a profession will fall
dramatically. There is an opinion that just as the mechanization of manual labor led to people moving
into more intellectual jobs, that then the automation of intellectual jobs will free up people to work on
creative pursuits. The only way to

A Report On New Zealand Essay
Background Overview New Zealand is an island country with a population of 4.4 million. Auckland is
the country s largest city with a population of 1.4 million people. It is one of the fastest growing cities
in Asia Pacific, the on going population growth in the region will continuously generate economic
growth over the short /medium term. Statistics suggest that Auckland requires between 9000 and
11000 new dwellings every year to meet the latent demand due to population growth. Auckland has a
particularly significant issue on housing affordability because land supply is tightly confined by a
strict urban/rural boundary, development rules and consents are restrictive, and immigrants (inward
and external) are attracted to the jobs and natural amenities in the region. Rapidly rising rates of house
price inflation have been reflective of a demand supply imbalance. 1.Introduction Auckland is New
Zealand s largest residential property market. There has been a physical shortage of houses,
particularly in Auckland. Strengthening economic growth and migration inflows as well as loose
credit conditions multiplied demand in construction sector. More recently, the Official Cash Rate
(OCR) has been increased from 2.5 percent to 3 percent for the purpose of preventing general inflation
pressures in the broader economy. Housing supply conditions have also started to improve with a
recovery in residential construction, centred in Auckland. These factors are all working to reduce the

Athletic Trainers Role In Athletic Training
Athletic trainers in today s sports world receive pressure everyday when it comes to deciding when to
return an athlete to play. Athletic trainers have such a big responsibility when it comes to the health
and care of the athletes that they work with. Trainers are the first person that an athlete will see when
they become injured during a game, and in most cases when the athlete performs rehab. The athlete
depends on the athletic trainer to diagnose his or her injury, and then help him or her recovery to pre
injury health. With this responsibility also comes consequence. If an athletic trainer returns an athlete
before he or she is ready, and that athlete were to get reinjured due to not being fully recovered, the
athletic trainer is liable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is especially the case if the game is in progress in the athlete has an important role. Each athlete
that comes off the field or court after being hit in the head must go through a cognitive test called a
Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC). This test is used immediately after the head trauma to
test the athlete on their Strength, Memory, Coordination, Concentration, and Physical Movements.
The SAC only takes approximately 5 to 7 minutes to administer (Straus). The problem that athletic
trainers face with testing an athlete after a head impact is dealing with the coach. When an athlete is
required to perform a 5 to 7 minute test in the middle of a game when the coach needs them, can cause
the coach to get very aggravated and be right in the ear of the trainer. It can put stress and pressure on
the trainer, which could then cause them to make an error during the testing of the athlete. SAC has
value in helping sports medicine professionals in detecting and quantifying acute cognitive
impairment on the sports sideline, particularly in identifying concussions in the 90 to 95% of cases
(Straus). If a coach distracts the trainer from performing the best SAC test for an athlete that
percentage is going to drop, and the trainer could miss evaluate the athlete. This could place the
athlete at risk if they are allowed to return to play too soon, and make the athletic trainer liable if that
athlete gets seriously injured. Sideline evaluations can be a big factor on the pressure that athletic
trainers deal

Essay on Proposed Revisions to the Army Tattoo Policy
Although tattoos represent a variety of things in a person s life, they don t necessarily dictate how well
a person is able to perform their job. For the last few months, there has been an ongoing debate about
troops in the Army that have tattoos, and as a result their careers have been placed on the line. With
this upcoming change, it has been specifically said that troops cannot have tattoos that extend below
their knees and above their elbows and ones that reach above their neckline. Sgt. Maj. Raymond
Chandler argues that tattoos cannot be racist, extremist, or sexist. If the tattoo violates that then they
will have to get it removed (Freedberg). While it is assumed that this is limited to new recruits, it will
also be applied to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the time the Army gained a large number of troops, but what they failed to realize was that they
enlisted more troops than they needed. This is when the proposed revision to the grooming policy
came up for discussion. With the new revisions tattoos won t be the only thing up for discussion; hair,
makeup, and piercings will be too (Dallet). In a recent article there was a discussion about an off duty
troop who was unshaven, and had on torn clothes who had a piercing. While he was out and about on
the military base, he was seen by a few Airmen and who quickly labeled the Army as The Ghetto
Service . This assumption gave the impression that the Army let anyone who wanted to enlist in. This
relates back to the army tattoo policy, because I feel that the Army is placing those that have tattoos in
the same category as those Airmen. Chandler took that situation as an insult and this is when he
decided that it was time to fix this.
At this time the troops have the First Amendment to back them on this issue at hand. The amendment
gives them the right to express their freedom of speech. As I previously stated there wasn t a specific
way that your speech had to be expressed. So it all boils down to the question if the army is
discriminating against their troops, or they just won t deal with tattoos. An example of a troop
exercising his right was where Gunja talks about how Kalsi, the first Sikh soldier to

Racial Disparities Of African Americans
Over the past few decades, there have been a series of African Americans killed by law enforcement
officers. Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, John Crawford III, Eric Garner and countless others. The
aftermath: the officers who murdered the unarmed men have either been acquitted or there was no
indictment. What happened in Ferguson is years, if not decades in the making. African Americans are
simply tired of having to bury friends and family and discovering the officers, meant to protect the law
and serve the people, are killing black lives and are almost always found not guilty.
The racial disparities against African Americans lies is shameful, but not surprising. Race matters in
the United States. People of color do not receive the same benefits and equality as white people;
whether it be in education, the workplace and in the judicial system. The purpose of this paper is to
analyze the racial disparities to African Americans in what subsequently led to the Black lives Matter
movement. I have chosen a series of photos that capture historical events of protests and movements
including an analysis of one of my images.
Racial disparities and inequality dates all the way back to slavery: when whites abused, raped, tortured
and killed black people. Slavery transformed America into an economic power; the exploitation of
black people made the south the richest and most politically powerful region in the country (ABS).
Black people did not have any rights, instead they were forced

The Trial in To Kill a Mocking Bird Essay
To Kill a Mocking Bird How important is the trial in dealing with the theme of Prejudice. Maycomb is
a town riddled with prejudices and stereotypes and the trial of Tom Robinson shows and makes clear
those prejudices to us. Firstly, during the trial, Jem, Scout and Dill sit upon the balcony with the
blacks. This is significant because in the court there is a great sense of segregation and we can see the
children s innocence because they don t have the same view of the blacks as the rest of the community
they don t have any prejudices at all. On the other hand, Bob Ewell is a prime example of White Trash
. He has a seething hatred for the Negroes and even though he is neither morally better nor more
respectable than Tom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She feels imprisoned like Boo Radley and her father puts to an end all of her attempts to socialise.
When she seduces Tom Robinson and her father finds out, he makes her feel so ashamed that she
helps Bob, her father, to get away with his perjury. The likelihood that the jury would acquit Tom is
almost imaginary. The reason for Mayella s outburst during Atticus cross examination, is that she
wishes to put an end to the audience s and jury s conclusions of what really happened, by pointing out
to them that Tom Robinson is a black man, and that black men are not to be trusted around white
women. She comes out with this outburst, also, because there are evident cracks in her story which
threaten to expose the truth. She feels that the prejudice of the community is a get out of jail free card
for her and in her opinion, this is more important than the life of an innocent, respectable black man,
who has done nothing other than be kind and helpful to her in contrast with her father s neglect and
abusive ways. In a way, she is inadvertently integrating the community and throwing aside her
prejudices when she seduces Tom Robinson. Tom is a kind decent man. He has values that Bob doesn
t conform to and is a sharp contrast to the Ewells. He walks past the Ewell place and more often than
not, he sees Mayella struggling to do her daily chores and all Tom wants to do is give her a helping

Analysis Of The Poem Swells
In the first stanza of the poem, Swells, Ammons makes a connection between swell and memories.
Swell is the vehicle and is use as a way to describe the substance of a particular memory. Memory
plays a role as the tenor. The speaker believes there is a correlation in terms of the size of the Swell in
the ocean with the importance or impact of the memory; as the swell increase in size, so will the
memory significance. The stanza then goes on to create an image for readers with the words,
Information of actions summarized (surface peaks and dribbles. One possible reason the lines are
written in this way is because the words create an imagery of contours and functions of a human brain.
Certain sections the human brain can retain information and condense data into its most useful
aspects.
In stanza two, ambiguity is more prevalent. Although there are some elements of abstruse, Ammons
uses specific words in repetition to create a degree of complexity for the poem. Ammons uses words
such as summary , deeper , longer , and length to convey the point. I question why Ammons used
these words, in particular, summary and deeper because the overall second stanza conveys a message
of an idea or item of great importance. Summary and deeper contradicts that message because both
words contrast each other. Summary generally means a short version on main points of an idea or
event while deeper is a term people use to compare two objects or items. Although Ammons does not

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Re-Pricing Model
Koch and MacDonald, (2010), discussed the problem of finding an optimal Gap ratio, they stated that
there is no specific optimal Gap ratio for all financial institutions and each company must evaluate its
overall risk and return profile and objectives to determine its optimal GAP . A number of hedging
studies suggest that a full hedge might not always be optimal for a financial intermediary
(Grammatikos and Saunders, 1983; Junkus and Lee,
1985).
Wetmore and Brick, (1990), argue that zero Gap may not be optimal because of the basis risk, which
implies that a financial institutions might be in better position with non zero Gap. 2 8 1 3 Weaknesses
of the Re pricing Model

It basically predicts the maximum possible loss given a certain scenario by using probability
distributions. This can be done in two ways, either by approximating the distribution by a parametric
approximation such as a normal distribution or by considering the actual distribution. Usually, the
confidence level used is 95 percent (Jorion, 2001). For example, suppose a daily VaR is stated as
$100,000 for a 95 percent level of confidence. This means that there is only 5 percent chance that the
loss the next day will be greater than $100,000. In other words, we expect this portfolio to lose more
than $100,000 in one out of twenty days. Therefore, VaR is a measure of the worst expected loss that a

Charlie Chaplin Research Paper
Imagine being a kid, losing your father to alcoholism, experiencing your own mother breaking down
on stage, and having to live place to place. Having been born to two troubled parents, Charlie Spencer
Chaplin started his career at a young age and built himself up. Starting his career in The Eight
Lancashire Lads, Chaplin was able to let his name be known to dignitary people. His enthusiasm to
rise up from the gutters amazes me, as not many can do as much as he did for himself. Charlie was
born on April 16, 1889 in London, England to Lily Harley, and Charles Chaplin Sr. His parents split
up when he was young, due to his mother s affair with Leo Dryden. Since the break off, Lily had a
breakdown on stage during one of her plays, her health was declining, thus resulting in hardships.

Xbox Target Audience
In order for Microsoft to become the leader in the console industry, it is critical to know the kind of
consumers that are going to be targeted. According to the Fundamental Marketing article by Isaiah
King, the target market for Microsoft Xbox users focuses on three main components: demographic,
psychographic, and behavioral (Fundamental Marketing 1). The demographic of Xbox users range
from age, generation, and gender. The hardcore gamers age group range from 16 to 30 years old.
However, generation plays a huge role in the demographics of the console. Students of 18 years and
younger are aimed highly more than older people, as they are leaders of the digital innovation. This
variable of the demographic is important, as this age group will be the future industry in new products.

class have the ability to spend money on new consoles in the gaming industry, while the lower class
does not have the funds to invest in all of the new consoles that are released. The most important key
point of the demographic component is the behavior of a gamer. It is important to have a strategic
target plan for any new consoles; however, behavior gamers are the marketing targets to any new
innovation. Behavior gamers are the most loyal consumers and it has a significant amount of the
profitability to the company. As a result, the three different components makes up the target market

End Humpback Whale Protection Essay
End Humpback Whale Protection Say Fisheries
Humpback whales would no longer be listed under the Endangered Species Act
(www.fws.gov/laws/lawsdigest/esact.html) if U.S. fisheries managers get what they want, which is to
end humpback whale protection. The group says that the whales are doing well now and don t face

Humpback whales now are on the list as being in danger all over the world, however, on Monday a

If End Humpback Whale Protection, Laws Would Change
Getting rid of the protection the humpback whales now have would mean that ships and fishermen
could get by with hitting or killing a whale or producing too high of noise levels in certain underwater
areas. The changes to end humpback whale protection is being suggested due to the fact that scientists
claim there are now tens of thousands of humpbacks now vs. only a few thousand back in the 70s
when they were originally put on the Endangered list.
Since 1966, commercial hunting of whales has been prohibited by the International Whaling
Commission (iwc.int). However, some countries still hunt them, such as Japan, Norway and Iceland,
for instance, killing of these mammals is permitted for scientific research and a few more are killed by
Japanese in the Southern Ocean for blubber and their meat.
There have also still been humpbacks killed from things like getting tangled up in fishing equipment,
loss of habitat, harassment from whale watchers, and getting hit by

Character Analysis Of Mr. Wills
Will J. The Taste of Melon: Mr. Wills Character Analysis Nov. 17 2017 In The Taste of Melon by
Borden Deal, the character of Mr. Wills is written as a round/complex character. Mr. Wills exhibits
three main traits throughout the story, and those traits do not change. First is his success as a farmer,
second is his emotional personality, and third is his intimidating and frightening demeanor and
reputation. While it may be easy to say that Mr. Wills is a dynamic character, his core traits never
change at any point in the plot. Only the way he is perceived by other characters changes.
The first main character trait of Mr. Wills is his success as a farmer. During the exposition of the plot
as the narrator is introducing all of its characters, he says Mr. Wills was the best farmer in the
community. (Deal, 131) as if it was common knowledge. The narrator s father chimes in when he says
...that he could drive a stick into the ground and grow a tree out of it. (Deal, 131) Mr. Wills appears to
show his technical proficiency in farming best when he is growing watermelons. As the narrator put it;
Other men, like Mr. Wills, can throw some seed on the ground, scuff some dirt over it, walk off and
leave it. And they ll have a crop of the prettiest, biggest melons you ever saw. (Deal, 131) This trait
did not change during the story; never was it revealed that Mr. Wills was putting fake watermelons in
his patch, or that he was importing prize melon seeds. From what is shown in the story Mr. Wills is
just a talented man.
The second main character trait of Mr. Wills are his volatile emotions. Beside the obvious examples of
him simply showing anger, such as When he plowed his fields you could hear him yelling for a mile.
(Deal, Pg. 131) There is also the example of him performing actions out of anger and then regretting
them later. Then I saw it, he was destroying every melon in the patch! (Deal, Pg. 137), and You ruined
the half of it, and I ruined the other. (Deal, Pg. 140) These quotes show that Mr. Wills has a tendency
to act brashly and then regret it. This is a trait that does not change through the story, instead it is fully
revealed near the end during the resolution of the plot

What Is The Difference Between The Ecosystem And Aquatic...
Ecosystem is a natural system consists of all the biotic component in a community interacting with
each other as well as with all the abiotic factors to form a stable and balanced system. Terrestrial
ecosystem which is land based ecosystem includes tundra, taiga, temperate deciduous forest, tropical
rain forest, grassland and desert. Aquatic ecosystem is the ecosystem in the water. It is an interacting
system of resources such as water and biota. Water acts as limiting factor that distinguishes aquatic
ecosystem from terrestrial ecosystem and results in differences from many aspects like size structure,
growth rate and nutrient stoichiometry.
Size structure between terrestrial ecosystem and aquatic ecosystem can be distinguished from pyramid
of both ecosystem. Aquatic ecosystem showed inverted pyramid of biomass. Pyramid of biomass,

Friends Stock Character
For paper five, I plan to write my essay about the television show Friends. More specifically, why this
show is still one of the most popular on TV even though the series finale aired 13 years ago. I think
that this show has maintained its popularity due to the nostalgia it invokes, its use of stock characters,
the empathy that viewers feel for the characters, and its ability to stand out amongst the massive
amount of sitcoms that take place in New York City.
One of the main reasons Friends is such a popular TV show is through its capability to transport the
viewer to a different era. Everything about Friends is so overwhelmingly 90 s, from the hair and
outfits, to the huge cell phones and computers, it perfectly encompasses the spirit of ... Show more

Friends steers clear of the stereotypical New York experiences, the characters don t visit the statue of
liberty or wait in line to visit the Empire State Building.Instead, they hang out in a coffee shop and
take walks through Greenwich Village. By doing this, the classic idea of New York is dramatically
altered. My fourth source is about the importance of location in TV shows. More specifically, it
discusses how the setting of television shows isn t that important, what matters is that the show has the
ability to transport you into the world of the characters. It also says that when TV shows do this, the
viewer gets much more attached to the show. I plan to use this source to demonstrate that by taking
you into the world of the characters, the viewer is much more likely to watch this

Organizational Behavior Trends
Introduction Organizational Behavior is the study of what people think, feel, and do in and around
organizations. Organizational Culture is the basic pattern of common assumptions, values, and beliefs
leading the way employees within an organization think about and act on problems and opportunities.
Organizational Trends are patterns of change over time in some variable of interest. In this paper we
will evaluate two trends in organizational behavior. The influence of ethics on decision making and
the impact of technology on work related stress will be examined. Organizational Behavior Trends

be aware of their stress levels and communicate stressful situations to their employer before stress
develops into a problem. For this to happen, employers need to ensure that the organizational culture

Life and Legacy of Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August, 15th, 1769 on Ajaccio, Corsica he was named after an
Egyptian religious figure. He was born on a couch in the living room of his parents home during the
feast of the Assumption. The French defeated the island of Corsica only three months after Bonaparte
s birth. Bonaparte would later devote his youth hating and despising the French. The Bonaparte family
was considered Corsican aristocrats, however they were not wealthy compared to French nobles. Due
to having such a large family they struggled to get by. Letizia Napoleon s mother was strict and
serious woman; she would punish her 8 children to instill the importance of discipline and sacrifice.
Letizia was very religious; she attended church every day. She forced her religion on Napoleon by
making him attend mass every Sunday. Napoleon said She sometimes made me go to bed without
supper, as if there was nothing to eat in the house. One had to learn to suffer and not let other see it.
His mother s lessons helped make him a strong man. After Corsica s defeat Bonaparte s twenty three
year old father Carlo hastily succumbed to French rule. Carlo began wearing French clothing such as
powdered wigs and silver bucked shoes. Napoleon never forgave his father for abandoning his Corsica
heritage. The Bonaparte s have lived in Corsica for about two hundred years; they had a long history

The Third Man Film Techniques
The Third Man is a 1949 film noir written by Graham Greene and directed by Carol Reed. The film
narrates the escapades of Holly Martins, portrayed by Joseph Cotton, in occupied Vienna. Martins is
an American writer who moves to Vienna in search of an employment opportunity offered by his
friend Harry Limes (Orson Welles). However, on arriving in Vienna, Martins discovers that Lime is
dead. At Lime s funeral Martins encounters Major Calloway (Trevor Howard) and Sergeant Paine
(Bernard Lee). The two British Military Police inform Martins that his college friend is a criminal and
advice Martins to leave town. Harry Lime had a romantic relationship with a woman known as Anna
(Alida Valli) from whom Martins seeks answers behind the mystery death and criminal reputation of
his friend. Martins soon discovers that Lime is alive, and the allegations against him are factual. Major

Lime is unaware of Martins collaboration with the military police and escapes arrest after Anna warns
him of the police ambush. Lime gets away and attempts to lose the military police beneath Vienna as
police reinforcements chase after him in the underground maze of sewers. The sequence plays a
significant role in the larger background of the narrative as it acts as a build up to the climax of the
film. The chase sequence is well crafted and located and is effective in advancing the plot of the
movie (Kiplange). Lime s escape into the underground is also symbolic of a rat in a maze as the police
who enter the sewer from different tunnels, outnumber Lime. The sequence is fast paced and builds up
the climax, as the capture of Lime seems eminent. The depiction of Lime as a rash individual shooting
indiscriminately at the police foreshadows the probable demise of Lime under police gunfire.

Being In A Car With A Drunk Driver
How many times have you been in the car with a drunk driver? Many young kids get in the car with
drunk drivers and don t even know it. For example, my good friend got in the car with a drunk driver
and was in an accident. She ended up being hospitalized for many days. Even when she was released
from the hospital, she was not the same. She had to go through months of physical therapy. Many
people think that it is just unlucky to get stopped for drunk driving, or operating while intoxicated as it
is called by the Michigan State Police. However, an average drunk driver drinks and drives at least 80
times before being arrested. At times, drivers who have been arrested for operating while intoxicated

Binge drinkers thrive on the excitement of drinking a large quantity of alcohol in a short amount of
time. Binge drinkers like to feel out of control. Alcohol, drugs and driving simply do not go together.
Driving requires a person s attentiveness and the ability to make quick decisions on the road, to react
to changes in the environment and execute specific, often difficult maneuvers behind the wheel
(CADD Campaign Against Drinking Driving). When drinking alcohol, using drugs, or being
distracted for any reason, driving becomes dangerous. Some drunk drivers might say they are good at

Editing and the Crisis of Open Source Essay
Editing and the Crisis of Open Source
The Free Software movement that began in 1985 and the newer open source movement, represented a
serious threat to traditional methods of production and distribution. The idea of a non proprietary
method of cultural exchange was and is a radical departure from traditional models that have come to
restrict creativity and free exchange. In the ensuing years, there was a gradual drift away from ideas of
non proprietary toward ideas of access to software s code level. This mirrored an evident diffusion of
these open ideas into the cultural sphere. Open publishing, open editing, open music, and open culture
are now hip buzzwords that point toward a new cultural formation based on a more free exchange ...

Wikipedia.org, an open source encyclopedia, describes this conflict of terms.
It was hoped that the usage of the newer term open source would eliminate such ambiguity, and would
also be easier to market to business users (who might mistakenly associate free software with anti
commericalism). Since its introduction, however, the open source label has been criticized for
fostering an ambiguity of a different kind: that of confusing it for mere availability of the source,
rather than the freedom to use, modify, and redistribute it.
One of the early defects of free software was the perceived inability to use it in for profit ventures.
Whereas the Free Software movement thinks of the freedom of software s code to be available to all
as an ethical and social imperative, open source treats it as a practical issue. Both GPL and open
source licenses can be used in for profit ventures. Copylefted material must remain free for people to
modify, but can be priced for people to buy.
With the advent of the term open source, it now appears that everything is open source, or is at least
sold that way. When not applied to programming, open content is used to describe a wide range of
activities that have nothing to do with computer software. There is still the problem of

The Rights And Nation By Gerald Friesen Essay
In his book, Citizens and Nation, Gerald Friesen first mentions the concept of imagined communities
as he states, Space had been restructured because the communication media had eliminated so many
of the inherited constraints of physical existence (Friesen 177). Thus, for Friesen, an imagined
community is constructed as communication technologies connect individuals across geographical
boundaries, therefore releasing the limitations of space. While Friesen s definition implies that a
technological intermediary is needed for the formation of imagined relations, his work, Citizens and
Nation works to prove that communities that are based on something other than face to face
communication, can, without technology, also be considered imagined . Moreover, using, Oral
Traditional and Screen Capitalist societies, two distinct time space configurations, this essay will
demonstrate how throughout history, the concept of Imagined Communities differed in its effect and
prevalence in Canadian life.
To begin, an analysis of Oral Traditional societies will work demonstrate that while per literate
communities were predominantly traditional, their connection to the land cultivated an imagined

Summary Of The Night Sky
It was late, the moon already high in the night sky, all except for George lie sleeping softly in the
bunkhouse. An unfinished game of solitaire, sprawled out across the barn floor. The barn was lit only
by a single red candle on an overturned crate. Next to the candle was an opened red pack of cigarettes
and a dirty brass lighter. Fresh hay was scattered around the cold floor, a job unfinished. In the corner
of the shadowed barn, a spider clung to its web as it slowly devoured a helpless fly. Curley s wife lay
still, untouched, the sight almost had a natural feeling about it, as though this was all her life was ever

merely continued with their dreary lives. A rusted shovel leaned against the wall, next to a freshly dug
mound of earth, covering Candy s lifeless dog. Lastly, spread across the floor, was a ragged length of
cold consuming rope, with a noose tied in one frayed end. George crouched before the rope, hunched
over almost questioningly, as though judging whether or not this was his best way out of the situation.
He was dirty and unshaven; he had yet not bothered to change from his gloomy, threadbare work
attire. His hair was greasy and unkempt, his facial hair was long and neglected and his face looked
like it had not seen water for many days. His eyes seemed to have sunken in to his head, for they were

Nsa Is The Spying Ofu.s Citizens
The National Security Agency (NSA) has been an information gathering arm of the Executive branch
since the Cold War and continues to be an essential part of ensuring the security of the United States.
The public issue that involves the NSA is the spying of U.S citizens which can be seen as a violation
of the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This was revealed to the public by the
whistleblower Edward Snowden who released classified documents of activities that the NSA had
been conducting in conjuncture with telecommunication companies, which angered many U.S citizens
and received media coverage with a call for the U.S Government to restrict the NSA s activities or at
least for there to be Congressional oversight. This debate revolves around how much the NSA s
surveillance activities are actually used for national security as well as the constitutionality of the NSA
s surveillance. This all began after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 when there was a call
for the attacks to never happen again and the adoption of the Patriot Act in that same year which
increased the power of the NSA.
The National Security Agency over the past few years was revealed to have spied on American
citizens under what can be considered illegal or unconstitutional circumstances which sparked concern
and outrage across most of America. This was first recognized in 2013 when the whistleblower

The Greatest Single Cause Of The War Essay
The greatest single cause of the war was the system of secret alliances which developed. How far do
you agree with this interpretation on what caused World War One. The first world war between the
triple entente and the triple alliance is said to be the first modern war. A previously unseen number of
human lives were lost on both sides and because of this when the war ended it came to be known as
the war to end all wars as said by the former president of the United States Woodrow Wilson. The
interpretation above is correct but only to a certain extent, one must understand and fully asses all the
factors of the war before making a judgement. There are two clear origins for the start of WW1, long
term origins and short term origins. Both must be analysed and assessed properly in order to make a
just statement in regard to the main cause of WW1. There are four generalised long term origins of the
first world war, Nationalism, Imperialism, Militarism and the world war one alliances. However, it
must be stated that the long term causes of the war are far more complex and must be dissected and
analysed in depth before truly understanding the long term causes of the war. A short term analysis
aims to explain why the war began when it did, how and why the European powers went to war and
how the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of
Hohenberg played a part in the start of the war. This division of the work will help, to qualify

The Key To Overcoming Life s Adversity
The Key to Overcoming Life s Adversity
Motivation. The reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. Motivation and strength
are what people need when fighting life s problems as well as pursuing a goal they want to
accomplish. Many authors write poems to tell about what has motivated them in the past and how they
rose from their struggles. Within the poems Invictus by William Ernest Henley and The Rose That
Grew From Concrete by Tupac, the authors talk about struggles and both convey the message that
people always need to keep the will to fight through life s problems.
Through Invictus William Ernest Henley explains why it is crucial to always fight through life s
adversity until a change is made. He uses diction to express this theme because he does not feel like
the typical everyday person. This can be shown when the author uses the prefix un on words like
unconquerable, unbowed and unafraid. An example of the author using this prefix is when he says, My
head is bloody, but unbowed (8). This device is used to show that he is not like everyone else in his
circumstances. The prefix un means not so when unafraid is used he is saying he is not afraid. Henley
is striving to overcome his adversity and using the problem as motivation to get out of his struggle.
This device expresses the theme because it shows why it is essential for people to keep courage and
prosper out of their problems. Another device used by Henley is repetition of the words I

Roman Architecture And The Renaissance
Roman Architecture and the Renaissance In the renaissance days, the designers reject the many sided

Balanced bends, vaults, and the built up solicitations were revived. This reclamation was refined
through direct view of Roman leftovers. The renaissance structural planning is the construction

components of old Rome views on society. Elaborately, Renaissance construction modeling took after
Gothic structural engineering and was succeeded by Florid building design. Structural planning
remains an important subject to discuss when recorded developments in the time periods happen and
the various sorts of craftsmanship begin to move as well. This is especially present in the midst of the
tasteful development from the medieval period to the Renaissance where degrees and symmetry are
returning musings beginning from generally Greek and Roman times. In the midst of the Renaissance
period, engineers, for instance Bartolommeo Bandinelli were known for the staggeringly arranged
curves in Florence, which were greater than whenever in late memory effectively experienced. While
the outside parts of Renaissance building configuration were astounding without any other individual,

Why Do American Children Are Afraid To Grow Up Essay
(first quote)We as a group are divided with these statements above. A few of us agree with the first
quote ... over the past decade or more, Americans have become... less likely to see things from a
different angle. because children can become very closed minded in society because of varying
stereotypes or because opinions from adults have been shoved down their throats and they just began
to stick with it instead of personally analyzing the situation and forming their own opinions. 3. Due to
the fact that the author is correct in her statement, children now have a different perspective on their
daily tasks. Children now have a one track mind meaning that once they have an idea in mind they do
not want to consider any other suggestions. Adults could argue that 21st century children have
declined in their ability to elaborate on topics. For example, a teacher at our school even claimed
herself that in her 29 years of teaching she has seen a decline in the capability to analyze topics. 4. Our
group of highly split students all agree for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For sure, there is a lot of emphasis on the future now more than ever. The television alone scares the
life out of us; moreso, because it rants on about politics and how americans may be powerful, but are
soon to be toast. Our financial state as a country is something that should give almost everyone, who
knows money, depression, which is scary. Technology screws us over just because all the things our
delicate, opinionated egos rely on are expensive and things we will soon have to buy on our own. We
as a community are scared that we won t be able to hold ourselves financially because no one explains
to us it s okay to live middle class and what it takes to be there, or that an education is a real key to
success if it s applied properly. That you may have to be responsible, but that doesn t mean you still

My Visit At The Huntington Museum Of Art
The first thing I noticed at the Huntington Museum of Art was how quiet and empty it was. This was
not displeasing however quite the opposite in fact. The atmosphere was perfect for contemplation and
thought, which is exactly what I want in a museum. I was still surprised of course; my visit to the Art
Institute of Chicago had been very different. Unlike in Huntington, Chicago s museum was packed to
the brim, and the people within it practically shouting just to be heard. It is very easy to decide which
one I liked more, in terms of surroundings anyway. As I walked along, my footsteps echoing, I could
not help but feel like there was something missing. The art was perfectly fine, but there was a lack of
liveliness to the place, something that Chicago had in spades. I remember noticing that the art only
had names, and no descriptions. This was something I disliked extremely. It is nice to look at images I
suppose, but I want some history. I want the time period, and a description of the artist, two things that
play a huge role in what a painting is actually about. I felt like I should just naturally understand what
each piece of art was trying to describe to me, which was an irritating feeling.
It only took me about twenty minutes to go through the entire museum. Nothing really drew me in,
except for a couple of pieces. This was entirely different from my visit to the Art Institute of Chicago.
There, almost everything drew me in. All the paintings, and especially some of

The Problem Of Internet Security
I could now confidently say that the addition of this course Business Computing Environment and
Networks to the curriculum has tremendously helped me gain more knowledge about the basics of the
Networks, how it is being managed, its security, and also how to be more aware of the problems that
are being caused nowadays due to the lack of Internet security. As a part of the learning and to my best
understanding from this course, I would like to delve more into the most common internet security
problems and how do we solve the business problems through the Internet Security.
As we all know, the word internet itself is a very broad term and the security of the Internet would be
the first thing that each and every company has on its mind in order to solve numerous business
problems they come across every day and to successfully run their businesses.
As everyone is quite aware of the fact that the Internet itself has never been a secured environment, so
every company strives itself hard to take utmost precautions in order to protect their computers or
their computer networks which are being connected to the internet globally. One of the major
problems that most businesses face these days are more often related to their business security. We all
pretty much encounter the problem of our systems being attacked by viruses. Viruses are nothing but
the programs that are being developed in order to damage the systems. These either damage or destroy
the data on your system or they don t

The Story behind Diamonds
Diamonds are one of the most popular minerals in the world and yet people are not aware of the
circumstances it takes to acquire this such unique mineral. Many people would agree when I say that
this mineral is such a nice thing to look at, but few people actually know what it is made of and how it
was formed. These precious minerals are composed of Carbon. The process to making this immaculate
mineral is as following. First, you must bury Carbon dioxide deep into the earth; approximately, 100
miles deep. Second, you must heat the substance at a temperature of 2,200 degrees fahrenheit. Next,
squeeze or tightly compact the substance under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch. Finally, it
must quickly rush to the earths surface to cool off. All this must be done just to create diamond.
Luckily for some men, scientist have created an alternative of the mined diamonds, it is a synthetic
diamond composed of the same things and look almost identical. So if you re planning to pop the big
question soon you have options with that part of the proposal. When you think of the price of real
diamonds you might think that they are pretty expensive and what makes them so special. Along with
its looks, it is a rare mineral that still has a high demand. The places where you can find high
concentrations are usually far away. As a matter of fact, the location that has the largest concentration
of diamonds is in central and southern Africa. It is reported that they have 49% of

  • 2. Summary Of Christological Statements In Colossians In providing Christological statements in Colossians, Paul concluded that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God and the firstborn of all creation. Different religious sects provide their own interpretations of this passage. Jehovah Witnesses, and the Arians of the fourth century, believe that God first created Jesus Christ; therefore, He is the firstborn of creation. Mormons state that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and of God s goddess wife. Thus, they consider Jesus Christ as their elder brother. These interpretations reveal that Jesus Christ is a creation and consequently a lesser God, as the Jehovah Witnesses believe, or that Jesus Christ is another God and subsequently believing in polytheism, as the Mormons appear to believe. ... But in the 21st century, if we find more affordable and accessible ways of doing so, we should embrace them rather than reject them (Susskind). In an interview with Therese Breza, a nurse in the healthcare system, she countered with the belief that human interaction is a vital part of healthcare, and that her patients and people she has worked with value such interactions. However, with the increasing complexity of healthcare and possibility of unncessary or even dangerous treatments, Susskind s countering that the most valuable part of professional experience is the professional knowledge means that machines that are always learning from each other and studies and effects of medicine on other medicines or humans shows that the supposedly valuable part of healthcare can still be present in the form of being a sort of front for a much more data heavy treatment plan managed by the most up to date and consistent methods in medical science, and humans can carry out what is needed. Auckland is the country s largest city with a population of 1.4 million people. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Asia Pacific, the on going population growth in the region will continuously generate economic growth over the short /medium term. Statistics suggest that Auckland requires between 9000 and 11000 new dwellings every year to meet the latent demand due to population growth. Auckland has a particularly significant issue on housing affordability because land supply is tightly confined by a strict urban/rural boundary, development rules and consents are restrictive, and immigrants (inward and external) are attracted to the jobs and natural amenities in the region. Rapidly rising rates of house price inflation have been reflective of a demand supply imbalance. 1.Introduction Auckland is New Zealand s largest residential property market. There has been a physical shortage of houses, particularly in Auckland. Strengthening economic growth and migration inflows as well as loose credit conditions multiplied demand in construction sector. More recently, the Official Cash Rate (OCR) has been increased from 2.5 percent to 3 percent for the purpose of preventing general inflation pressures in the broader economy. Housing supply conditions have also started to improve with a recovery in residential construction, centred in Auckland. These factors are all working to reduce the ... Athletic trainers have such a big responsibility when it comes to the health and care of the athletes that they work with. Trainers are the first person that an athlete will see when they become injured during a game, and in most cases when the athlete performs rehab. The athlete depends on the athletic trainer to diagnose his or her injury, and then help him or her recovery to pre injury health. With this responsibility also comes consequence. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is especially the case if the game is in progress in the athlete has an important role. Each athlete that comes off the field or court after being hit in the head must go through a cognitive test called a Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC). This test is used immediately after the head trauma to test the athlete on their Strength, Memory, Coordination, Concentration, and Physical Movements. The SAC only takes approximately 5 to 7 minutes to administer (Straus). The problem that athletic trainers face with testing an athlete after a head impact is dealing with the coach. When an athlete is required to perform a 5 to 7 minute test in the middle of a game when the coach needs them, can cause the coach to get very aggravated and be right in the ear of the trainer. It can put stress and pressure on the trainer, which could then cause them to make an error during the testing of the athlete. SAC has value in helping sports medicine professionals in detecting and quantifying acute cognitive impairment on the sports sideline, particularly in identifying concussions in the 90 to 95% of cases (Straus). If a coach distracts the trainer from performing the best SAC test for an athlete that percentage is going to drop, and the trainer could miss evaluate the athlete. This could place the athlete at risk if they are allowed to return to play too soon, and make the athletic trainer liable if that athlete gets seriously injured. • 7. Essay on Proposed Revisions to the Army Tattoo Policy Although tattoos represent a variety of things in a person s life, they don t necessarily dictate how well a person is able to perform their job. For the last few months, there has been an ongoing debate about troops in the Army that have tattoos, and as a result their careers have been placed on the line. With this upcoming change, it has been specifically said that troops cannot have tattoos that extend below their knees and above their elbows and ones that reach above their neckline. Sgt. Maj. Raymond Chandler argues that tattoos cannot be racist, extremist, or sexist. If the tattoo violates that then they will have to get it removed (Freedberg). While it is assumed that this is limited to new recruits, it will also be applied to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the time the Army gained a large number of troops, but what they failed to realize was that they enlisted more troops than they needed. This is when the proposed revision to the grooming policy came up for discussion. With the new revisions tattoos won t be the only thing up for discussion; hair, makeup, and piercings will be too (Dallet). In a recent article there was a discussion about an off duty troop who was unshaven, and had on torn clothes who had a piercing. While he was out and about on the military base, he was seen by a few Airmen and who quickly labeled the Army as The Ghetto Service . This assumption gave the impression that the Army let anyone who wanted to enlist in. This relates back to the army tattoo policy, because I feel that the Army is placing those that have tattoos in the same category as those Airmen. Chandler took that situation as an insult and this is when he decided that it was time to fix this. At this time the troops have the First Amendment to back them on this issue at hand. The amendment gives them the right to express their freedom of speech. As I previously stated there wasn t a specific way that your speech had to be expressed. So it all boils down to the question if the army is discriminating against their troops, or they just won t deal with tattoos. • 8. Racial Disparities Of African Americans Over the past few decades, there have been a series of African Americans killed by law enforcement officers. Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, John Crawford III, Eric Garner and countless others. The aftermath: the officers who murdered the unarmed men have either been acquitted or there was no indictment. What happened in Ferguson is years, if not decades in the making. African Americans are simply tired of having to bury friends and family and discovering the officers, meant to protect the law and serve the people, are killing black lives and are almost always found not guilty. The racial disparities against African Americans lies is shameful, but not surprising. Race matters in the United States. People of color do not receive the same benefits and equality as white people; whether it be in education, the workplace and in the judicial system. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the racial disparities to African Americans in what subsequently led to the Black lives Matter movement. I have chosen a series of photos that capture historical events of protests and movements including an analysis of one of my images. Racial disparities and inequality dates all the way back to slavery: when whites abused, raped, tortured and killed black people. Slavery transformed America into an economic power; the exploitation of black people made the south the richest and most politically powerful region in the country (ABS). Black people did not have any rights, instead they were forced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Trial in To Kill a Mocking Bird Essay To Kill a Mocking Bird How important is the trial in dealing with the theme of Prejudice. Maycomb is a town riddled with prejudices and stereotypes and the trial of Tom Robinson shows and makes clear those prejudices to us. Firstly, during the trial, Jem, Scout and Dill sit upon the balcony with the blacks. This is significant because in the court there is a great sense of segregation and we can see the children s innocence because they don t have the same view of the blacks as the rest of the community they don t have any prejudices at all. On the other hand, Bob Ewell is a prime example of White Trash . He has a seething hatred for the Negroes and even though he is neither morally better nor more respectable than Tom ... When she seduces Tom Robinson and her father finds out, he makes her feel so ashamed that she helps Bob, her father, to get away with his perjury. The likelihood that the jury would acquit Tom is almost imaginary. The reason for Mayella s outburst during Atticus cross examination, is that she wishes to put an end to the audience s and jury s conclusions of what really happened, by pointing out to them that Tom Robinson is a black man, and that black men are not to be trusted around white women. She comes out with this outburst, also, because there are evident cracks in her story which threaten to expose the truth. She feels that the prejudice of the community is a get out of jail free card for her and in her opinion, this is more important than the life of an innocent, respectable black man, who has done nothing other than be kind and helpful to her in contrast with her father s neglect and abusive ways. In a way, she is inadvertently integrating the community and throwing aside her prejudices when she seduces Tom Robinson. Tom is a kind decent man. • 10. Analysis Of The Poem Swells In the first stanza of the poem, Swells, Ammons makes a connection between swell and memories. Swell is the vehicle and is use as a way to describe the substance of a particular memory. Memory plays a role as the tenor. The speaker believes there is a correlation in terms of the size of the Swell in the ocean with the importance or impact of the memory; as the swell increase in size, so will the memory significance. The stanza then goes on to create an image for readers with the words, Information of actions summarized (surface peaks and dribbles. One possible reason the lines are written in this way is because the words create an imagery of contours and functions of a human brain. Certain sections the human brain can retain information and condense data into its most useful aspects. In stanza two, ambiguity is more prevalent. Although there are some elements of abstruse, Ammons uses specific words in repetition to create a degree of complexity for the poem. Ammons uses words such as summary , deeper , longer , and length to convey the point. I question why Ammons used these words, in particular, summary and deeper because the overall second stanza conveys a message of an idea or item of great importance. Summary and deeper contradicts that message because both words contrast each other. Summary generally means a short version on main points of an idea or event while deeper is a term people use to compare two objects or items. Although Ammons does not in any ... A number of hedging studies suggest that a full hedge might not always be optimal for a financial intermediary (Grammatikos and Saunders, 1983; Junkus and Lee, 1985). This can be done in two ways, either by approximating the distribution by a parametric approximation such as a normal distribution or by considering the actual distribution. This means that there is only 5 percent chance that the loss the next day will be greater than $100,000. In other words, we expect this portfolio to lose more than $100,000 in one out of twenty days. • 18. Character Analysis Of Mr. Wills Will J. The Taste of Melon: Mr. Wills Character Analysis Nov. 17 2017 In The Taste of Melon by Borden Deal, the character of Mr. Wills is written as a round/complex character. Mr. Wills exhibits three main traits throughout the story, and those traits do not change. First is his success as a farmer, second is his emotional personality, and third is his intimidating and frightening demeanor and reputation. While it may be easy to say that Mr. Wills is a dynamic character, his core traits never change at any point in the plot. Only the way he is perceived by other characters changes. The first main character trait of Mr. Wills is his success as a farmer. During the exposition of the plot as the narrator is introducing all of its characters, he says Mr. Wills was the best farmer in the community. (Deal, 131) as if it was common knowledge. The narrator s father chimes in when he says ...that he could drive a stick into the ground and grow a tree out of it. (Deal, 131) Mr. Wills appears to show his technical proficiency in farming best when he is growing watermelons. As the narrator put it; Other men, like Mr. Wills, can throw some seed on the ground, scuff some dirt over it, walk off and leave it. And they ll have a crop of the prettiest, biggest melons you ever saw. (Deal, 131) This trait did not change during the story; never was it revealed that Mr. Wills was putting fake watermelons in his patch, or that he was importing prize melon seeds. From what is shown in the story Mr. Wills is just a talented man. The second main character trait of Mr. Wills are his volatile emotions. Beside the obvious examples of him simply showing anger, such as When he plowed his fields you could hear him yelling for a mile. (Deal, Pg. 131) There is also the example of him performing actions out of anger and then regretting them later. Then I saw it, he was destroying every melon in the patch! (Deal, Pg. 137), and You ruined the half of it, and I ruined the other. (Deal, Pg. 140) These quotes show that Mr. Wills has a tendency to act brashly and then regret it. This is a trait that does not change through the story, instead it is fully revealed near the end during the resolution of the plot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. The Rights And Nation By Gerald Friesen Essay In his book, Citizens and Nation, Gerald Friesen first mentions the concept of imagined communities as he states, Space had been restructured because the communication media had eliminated so many of the inherited constraints of physical existence (Friesen 177). Thus, for Friesen, an imagined community is constructed as communication technologies connect individuals across geographical boundaries, therefore releasing the limitations of space. While Friesen s definition implies that a technological intermediary is needed for the formation of imagined relations, his work, Citizens and Nation works to prove that communities that are based on something other than face to face communication, can, without technology, also be considered imagined . Moreover, using, Oral Traditional and Screen Capitalist societies, two distinct time space configurations, this essay will demonstrate how throughout history, the concept of Imagined Communities differed in its effect and prevalence in Canadian life. To begin, an analysis of Oral Traditional societies will work demonstrate that while per literate communities were predominantly traditional, their connection to the land cultivated an imagined community . Prior to the invention of print, Canadian aboriginals lived in an oral society where the spoken word was the dominant form of communication. An unfinished game of solitaire, sprawled out across the barn floor. The barn was lit only by a single red candle on an overturned crate. Next to the candle was an opened red pack of cigarettes and a dirty brass lighter. Fresh hay was scattered around the cold floor, a job unfinished. In the corner of the shadowed barn, a spider clung to its web as it slowly devoured a helpless fly. Curley s wife lay still, untouched, the sight almost had a natural feeling about it, as though this was all her life was ever to amount to, she lay dead amongst the hay; it was as thought the others had forgotten about her and merely continued with their dreary lives. A rusted shovel leaned against the wall, next to a freshly dug mound of earth, covering Candy s lifeless dog. Lastly, spread across the floor, was a ragged length of cold consuming rope, with a noose tied in one frayed end. George crouched before the rope, hunched over almost questioningly, as though judging whether or not this was his best way out of the situation. He was dirty and unshaven; he had yet not bothered to change from his gloomy, threadbare work attire. His hair was greasy and unkempt, his facial hair was long and neglected and his face looked like it had not seen water for many days. • 38. Nsa Is The Spying Ofu.s Citizens The National Security Agency (NSA) has been an information gathering arm of the Executive branch since the Cold War and continues to be an essential part of ensuring the security of the United States. The public issue that involves the NSA is the spying of U.S citizens which can be seen as a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This was revealed to the public by the whistleblower Edward Snowden who released classified documents of activities that the NSA had been conducting in conjuncture with telecommunication companies, which angered many U.S citizens and received media coverage with a call for the U.S Government to restrict the NSA s activities or at least for there to be Congressional oversight. This debate revolves around how much the NSA s surveillance activities are actually used for national security as well as the constitutionality of the NSA s surveillance. This all began after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 when there was a call for the attacks to never happen again and the adoption of the Patriot Act in that same year which increased the power of the NSA. The National Security Agency over the past few years was revealed to have spied on American citizens under what can be considered illegal or unconstitutional circumstances which sparked concern and outrage across most of America. This was first recognized in 2013 when the whistleblower Edward Snowden or traitor as the United States government considers him, leaked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Greatest Single Cause Of The War Essay The greatest single cause of the war was the system of secret alliances which developed. How far do you agree with this interpretation on what caused World War One. The first world war between the triple entente and the triple alliance is said to be the first modern war. A previously unseen number of human lives were lost on both sides and because of this when the war ended it came to be known as the war to end all wars as said by the former president of the United States Woodrow Wilson. The interpretation above is correct but only to a certain extent, one must understand and fully asses all the factors of the war before making a judgement. There are two clear origins for the start of WW1, long term origins and short term origins. Both must be analysed and assessed properly in order to make a just statement in regard to the main cause of WW1. There are four generalised long term origins of the first world war, Nationalism, Imperialism, Militarism and the world war one alliances. However, it must be stated that the long term causes of the war are far more complex and must be dissected and analysed in depth before truly understanding the long term causes of the war. A short term analysis aims to explain why the war began when it did, how and why the European powers went to war and how the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg played a part in the start of the war. The Vietnam War had a terrible impact on both the United States and Vietnam, and more importantly it would affect foreign policy for many years to come. Operation Rolling Thunder was a desperate attempt to convince the North Vietnamese to initiate negotiations and hopefully a ceasefire. This operation showed that LBJ was ineffective and ignorant. He was blind to the fact that the North Vietnamese were obviously going to retaliate because of Operation Rolling Thunder. The TET offensive was the retaliation of the North. The north surprised attacked many of the cities and therefore making it so that we had to activate our reserves. • 41. The Key To Overcoming Life s Adversity The Key to Overcoming Life s Adversity Motivation. The reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. Motivation and strength are what people need when fighting life s problems as well as pursuing a goal they want to accomplish. Many authors write poems to tell about what has motivated them in the past and how they rose from their struggles. Within the poems Invictus by William Ernest Henley and The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac, the authors talk about struggles and both convey the message that people always need to keep the will to fight through life s problems. Through Invictus William Ernest Henley explains why it is crucial to always fight through life s adversity until a change is made. He uses diction to express this theme because he does not feel like the typical everyday person. This can be shown when the author uses the prefix un on words like unconquerable, unbowed and unafraid. An example of the author using this prefix is when he says, My head is bloody, but unbowed (8). This device is used to show that he is not like everyone else in his circumstances. The prefix un means not so when unafraid is used he is saying he is not afraid. Henley is striving to overcome his adversity and using the problem as motivation to get out of his struggle. This device expresses the theme because it shows why it is essential for people to keep courage and prosper out of their problems. Another device used by Henley is repetition of the words I ... Roman Architecture And The Renaissance Roman Architecture and the Renaissance In the renaissance days, the designers reject the many sided quality and vertical of the Gothic style for the straightforwardness and balanced degrees of class. Balanced bends, vaults, and the built up solicitations were revived. This reclamation was refined through direct view of Roman leftovers. The renaissance structural planning is the construction modeling of the time frame between the mid fifteenth and mid seventeenth hundreds of years in distinctive districts of Europe, showing a knowledgeable recovery and improvement of specific components of old Rome views on society. Elaborately, Renaissance construction modeling took after Gothic structural engineering and was succeeded by Florid building design. Structural planning remains an important subject to discuss when recorded developments in the time periods happen and the various sorts of craftsmanship begin to move as well. This is especially present in the midst of the tasteful development from the medieval period to the Renaissance where degrees and symmetry are returning musings beginning from generally Greek and Roman times. The atmosphere was perfect for contemplation and thought, which is exactly what I want in a museum. I was still surprised of course; my visit to the Art Institute of Chicago had been very different. Unlike in Huntington, Chicago s museum was packed to the brim, and the people within it practically shouting just to be heard. It is very easy to decide which one I liked more, in terms of surroundings anyway. As I walked along, my footsteps echoing, I could not help but feel like there was something missing. The art was perfectly fine, but there was a lack of liveliness to the place, something that Chicago had in spades. I remember noticing that the art only had names, and no descriptions. This was something I disliked extremely. It is nice to look at images I suppose, but I want some history. I want the time period, and a description of the artist, two things that play a huge role in what a painting is actually about. Many people would agree when I say that this mineral is such a nice thing to look at, but few people actually know what it is made of and how it was formed. These precious minerals are composed of Carbon. The process to making this immaculate mineral is as following. First, you must bury Carbon dioxide deep into the earth; approximately, 100 miles deep. Second, you must heat the substance at a temperature of 2,200 degrees fahrenheit. Next, squeeze or tightly compact the substance under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch. Finally, it must quickly rush to the earths surface to cool off. All this must be done just to create diamond. So if you re planning to pop the big question soon you have options with that part of the proposal.
