The Media s Hierarchy Of Human Needs
The purpose of the news media is to broadcast information in different mediums, gain a larger
audience (web, print, and television), satisfy different audience s through the use of surveillance, and
to do all of the above and make a profit. The media will broadcast sometimes the same information in
many ways in order for it to reach most people that have access to either cable, Internet or social
media. Once the information has reached the people in the community it satisfies their need for
information which can be done through surveillance, and lastly there is always a profit in revenue or
ratings. The media must satisfy its necessary audiences in order to touch base with the Maslow s
Hierarchy of Human Needs which is survival, safety, social belonging, self esteem and self
actualization.
Crime is a human conduct in violation of the criminal laws of a state, the federal government, or a
local jurisdiction that has the power to make laws (Schmalleger, 2007). Crime is primarily an offense
against human relationships and secondly violates the law, since laws are created and written to
protect safety and fairness in human relationships (Schmalleger, 2007). Another definition of crime is
any harmful act including violations of the fundamental prerequisites for well being which can include
food, shelter, clothing, medical services, challenges at work and play (recreational) activities, and
security from predatory individuals (criminals) and this is all covered under the Maslow s

The Civil Rights Movement Of Fareed Zakaria s The Rise...
In the following document I have read and researched two different points asked in the assignment.
The first is a summarization and my take on Zakaria s article, along with answered questions from the
assignment. The second is a research portion, provided by the listed sources, about the civil rights
movement. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Zakaria article and it was an eye opener looking into the
civil rights movement.
Fareed Zakaria s The Rise of Illiberal Democracy details his view on elected governments and the
ignorance and abuse of their power. He claims that they do not use their powers in the right way and
instead deny basic civil rights and liberties. Democracy can be defined numerous ways in different
countries. In Zakaria s definition, to paraphrase, a democracy is viewed as a process of selecting
government and is to always mean the rule of the people. In my opinion this definition is very true
when associating democracy with countries such as the one I preside in because we have the right to
vote for the people making decisions in individual states and, most importantly, our federal
government. To have a democracy intuitively means A good government . Following democracy in the
article, Zakaria highlights two other forms of government that contrast to democracy and where they
are used. Constitutional liberalism is not a procedure for selecting government, but rather the
government s goal . This concept of government rule looks out more for the individual

How Does Shakespeare Use Dramatic Speech
SPEECH: how does Shakespeare use dramatic form to investigate notions of human weakness
When you fear a foe, fear crushes your strength; and this weakness gives strength to your opponents.
William Shakespeare
Shakespeare uses the dramatic form of tragedy to comment on the flaws of humanity and in particular
jealousy in his tragedy Othello. It features a valiant general of royal descent, Othello, who through
psychological manipulation by the Machiavellian antagonist Iago is transformed into a man whose
consuming jealousy has slowly deteriorated him into a savage capable of resolving problems with
only acts of violence. Act 3 Scene 3 features the transformation of Othello, and showcases Iago s
monstrous birth and medicine working in action. Using various literary and dramatic techniques,
Shakespeare eloquently provides a social commentary on how jealousy is an inherent weakness in the
human condition.
In the introduction of Act 3 Scene 3, Othello is unaffected by jealousy and is deeply in love and
devotion with his wife Desdemona. This is shown in Othello s quote Excellent wretch! Perdition catch
my soul, But I do love thee! and when I love thee not, Chaos is come again. The initial oxymoron
encapsulates the theme of Othello s damnation through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most notable of this is in Iago [going], Iago [returning] .. scan this thing no further . This
symbolises that Iago s medicine is working and that his psychological manipulation is successful in
causing Othello to speculate the fidelity of his wife. The syntax of Iago s subsequent speech is sinuous
and multi faceted as he backtracks on what he has just caused Othello to believe. It is from this point
that peripeteia occurs and Othello undergoes a major transformation where his hamartia, jealousy, robs
him of his reason and degrades his character and

The Experiences Of Life In Our Town By Thornton Wilder
Our Town by Thornton Wilder overviews the small details of Grover s Corners, following the daily
life of the Gibb s and Webb s family, specifically the teenagers George and Emily, during the turn of
the century. He describes the play as, an attempt to find value above all price for the smallest events in
our daily life, which shows its purpose is to show the audience to appreciate the little things in life.
Wilder s Our Town is successful in its attempt to show the audience the pricelessness of the small
experiences of life. Wilder achieves his goal of showing the importance of miniscule details in life
when at the beginning of Act 1, it states that the stage is barren, and there are only two tables and four
chairs. The reason for this is because fancy scenery is not needed to appreciate life. This is shown
when the stage manager says, There s some scenery for those who think they have to have scenery ,
showing that scenery is not required in this play to achieve its goal. It emphasizes the meaning of life,
and how common interactions are more important than lucious additions. ... Show more content on

Lab Exercise At Room Temperature Equal
Introduction:
Many of molecular biology and chemistry involves working with very small volumes. A micropipette
is standard laboratory equipment used to measure and dispense a specific volume of liquid (#5
buffalostate.edu). This is a very helpful tool that we need to master and able to use in a biochemistry
lab. The purpose of this lab exercise is learning how to use a micropipette to find the density of
different liquids, and be able to identify an unknown liquid using density. Also, learn how to evaluate
the experimental accuracy, precise, and error of small volumes used in biochemistry based on the
theory that 1gram of water at room temperature equal 1millimeter (#1 Bruice). If the density of water
that determined after the experiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the theoretical density, the density of water, methanol, and glycerol that obtained in the
experiment should be the same or close to these values above. If the experiment performs correctly
with high precise and accuracy, then density of the unknown can be used to identify the present
chemical substance. The expect outcome for this experiment is the value you obtained will be close or
exact the theoretical values. In this exercise, all of the micropipettes measured in the form of a
microliter. There are different models of micropipettes have different minimum and maximum limits.
The two micropipettes we were used for this experiment are P1000 and P100. The correct
micropipettes were chose based on the volume of the liquid that needs to be measure. Micropipettes
should never go past the set limits, either lower or higher. It will cause the micropipettes to not
function correctly or will measure incorrect volumes. The maximum sizes are showed on top of the
plunger (thumb knob) button. P100 ranges from 10 100 microliter, P1000 ranges from 100 1000
microliter (#5 buffalostate.edu).

How Does A History Book Tell Lies Essay
History books tell lies. Now, you may be thinking, Well that is ridiculous. History books tell facts, and
facts cannot be lies , but they can. My history book tells me that the idea of Global Warming was just
a chinese conspiracy, but I know that is not true. It is now 2150, and it has been 133 years since
Donald Trump was the President of the United States. Trump s belief that climate change was just a
myth spread through homes like a wildfire, one that has still not been put out. I watch the news and
see states being drowned along with the people who inhabit them. People see what is happening and
know that their ignorance is the reason for the death that surrounds them. In some places of the
country people s mouths are drying out while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2150, the top 1% are still living a life of luxury while watching the rest of drown (in some cases
literally). The poor have been shipped to the states that are suffering from the most severe
consequences, while the rich have all gathered together to enjoy the states that are still somewhat
habitable. Luckily, my family and I have not yet been transported to our future home in Maine. Many
people have spoke about a revolution, but like the trip to Mars, I do not think it will occur in my
lifetime. Of course, there have been protest and people have tried to end the discrimination, but many
die quickly after reaching their new homes. My mom and I have thought about going into hiding, but
we do not know where we would go. The rich always find the poor wherever they hide. I have heard
talk of a group of people who will help those who are going to be shipped away soon, but unlike
global warming, the group probably is just a conspiracy. I sometimes think that maybe someone will
come help us, but then I again remember that hope is foolish and I return to my realistic way of living,
living in fear. If one day things do change, it will be a miracle, a miracle that was not caused by
humans since we can only cause

Jonas Salk
The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more (Biography 1). Jonas Edward Salk was a
medical doctor and epidemiologist, who aided in the manufacturing of the first vaccine to counteract
poliomyelitis (polio). Jonas Salk, the pioneer for the first polio vaccine, was a humanitarian who
worked to help others, which reflected his Jewish background.
Most notably, Jonas Edward Salk was known for his work in the field of medicine, specifically the
polio vaccine, his medical research institution, and the institution s fight against AIDS. Salk was
working with Thomas Francis Jr. at New York University College of Medicine, where they were
developing a killed virus vaccine (Britannica 1). A killed virus or inactivated vaccine is an ... Show

Jonas Salk was asked by Herb Meyer, a friend of Salk, what he thought of Intelligent Design vs.

course evolution is real. DNA mutates and that makes evolution one of the most powerful forces in
nature. But who set evolution into motion? Can t God have done that? (Aussiegirl 1) Based on this

and not common ancestry, to God. Moreover, when the poliomyelitis vaccine was released in 1955,
Jonas Salk was asked by Edward R. Murrow in an interview about who owned the patent for vaccine.

Salem Witch Trials Of Salem Village
The Salem Witch Trials
The weather was icy cold and it was the middle of winter when four figures were found outside of
Salem village casting spells (Nemphill, 1). In Salem Village there were many recorded witch
accusations, in fact the Salem Witch Trials, the witch trials of the late 1600 s was one of Salem s
biggest hit of witch trials. The tension between the accused and the accusers was strong making the
trials stronger and more intense. The Salem Witch Trials is an exploration in history because Salem
Village was put in a position to grasp a chance at the devil, or to choose the right or wrong decision as
a village.

The group of girls or also known as the accusers consisted of Abigail Williams, Elizabeth Hubbard,
Susannah Sheldon, Mercy Lewis, Margaret Walcott, Mary Warren, Ann Putnam Jr. and Betty Paris.
Many of the girls accused people because they had seen their shape or figure come to them late at
night and tease or torment them. Another way to win the judges over was the girl s habit to throw fits.
Mostly their fits consisted of screaming and kicking like a tantrum from a kid you could say, and they
would throw a fit every time someone they accused had walked by them. The girls had a very strong
influence on the entire town you could say, once one of the girls in the group, Mary Warren, had
disagreed with accusing someone and the next day she was accused of witchcraft.
The second sick girl out of the group was Ann Putnam; she threw many fits and cried for help along
with many strange noises. While talking to Margaret about Isaac and Isaac had said that he would wed
Margaret when they were older, out of jealously the next week Isaac was accused of being a wizard.

Grease Music Differences
Musicals have been around for many years, but one of the most notable is Grease. It is has become
known throughout the entire world. With Grease being a phenomenal musical, FOX decided to
perform a live version back in 2016, 38 years after the original musical. There was many difference in
both versions due to one being a movie and the other a live performance. It is one of kind, which lead
to many people arguing that the original is better. Factors that contribute to the debate are the cast,
songs, and set design. All in all, people respect the live version because it is hard to pull off in one
take. The characters in the two cast were portrayed similarity. Sandy Olsson stood out to me the most
because in the live version she is not from Australia instead of Ohio, which means she would not have
an accent. This was most likely done because it would be harder for the actor to pull off the accent
throughout the entire show. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grease songs specifically, You re the one that I want , is known from different age groups. The song
lyrics and concept stayed the same. It was most likely done because they did not want to change it
because that scene had the most success. Many argue the music should never change because it will
not attract a new audience if that is their goal. Betty Rizzo, sung a song, Look at me , which included
an Italian curse word but it was replaced with another line in the live version. There were also changes
in who sang what song. For example, Those Magic Changes is being played as background music for
them to be dancing and in the live performance, it is being sung by a T bird, Doody. In the film,
Freddy My Love is played on the jukebox and in the live version it was sung by the Pink Ladies. This
was done because it would create a more intimate moment with the audience watching. The live
performance also includes a new solo for Frenchie to demonstrate her

transmission distances, the use of high voltage HVDC transmission should be considered. HVDC can
be a more economic way to move electricity over longer distances; a HVDC system can carry greater
power per conductor than an equivalent AC system, resulting in greater capacity per transmission line.
Today, HVDC s main applications are for efficient bulk power transfer, point to point, over longer

the task of ensuring preservation of HVDC equipment from the Thyristor Era and the related IGBT

Grierson is the protagonist. The narration of this story comes from a single narrator, but overall in

the reader to see the self absorption, hypocrisy, and critical nature of the town. Emily is not the

The reader might think, as he or she reads the story, that Emily is a poor old lady being the picked on
by the town. This short story may be named, A Rose for Emily , but this story is really about the town.
Emily is not the protagonist of this story, but the foil character since her character lacks depth and
detail previously stated. The protagonist of this story is the town. When Falkner writes the story from
the perspective of the town, he helps the reader see how small towns in the south, like Jefferson, tend
to be the selfish, hypocritical and judgmental in nature. In this story, everything that Emily s character
has done was an opportunity for Falkner to show the towns selfishness, hypocrisy, and critical nature.
Falkner uses Emily like a prop to give rises and reactions from the town so he can develop thee town
and give it a personality. Falkner wants to highlight how self absorbed and hypocritical a small town
in the south can be, with the town Jefferson, he does a fantastic job. This towns reactions to Emily not
only showed off its characteristics, but brought it to life. Emily may only be the foil character, but she
serves a very important function. Without Emily, the reader would never see the selfishness,

The Age Of New Imperialism
The Age of New Imperialism in Britain was a time of prosperity and total domination. Compared to
previous years of imperialism, this period was focused primarily on benefitting the colonial power,
Britain, instead of establishing new settlements. Even though the British imperialism of the late 19th
century/early 20th century brought great wealth, knowledge, and technological advancements to the
country, it was at the expense of many other people in the empire. Britain, and Europe as a whole, had
to find a way to justify their superiority over these other countries subsequently leading scientists
decided to use their background and knowledge to create disciplines that had racist ideologies at the
root. These pseudo sciences were constructed to rationalize the imperialism during the 19th century.
This paper will discuss some of the most influential sciences produced during the late 19th century,
including social Darwinism, eugenics, and phrenology, that were used to justify British Imperialism
and how they supported imperialism.
White is the supreme race, non White people are inferior, White people are the ones with all the
achievements in the world these ideologies and theories, though formally constructed in the late
1800s, were created from discussions long before. The idea of race superiority has existed since the
15th and 16th centuries, early days of African slavery, but at that time it was supported by religion and
God. In the early 16th century, a Swiss

Modern Biblical New Testament Canon
The modern biblical New Testament canon (BNTC) as we possess it today did not come to us in the
way that we know it; the original autographs of the BNTC were not leatherbound books with thumb
indexing and gold edges on the pages. There was a very lengthy process in which these books were
passed down to us. When this subject is being addressed, what is being discussed is the twentyseven
books we find in what is now called the BNTC. These twentyseven books represent the message of
Jesus of Nazareth recorded by his followers in the first few decades after his death. The issue of canon
is the question of how these books were assembled and put together. More so, however, the issue
encompasses the differentiation of these books from other contemporaneous stories of Jesus in the
successive centuries after his death; therefore, in order to understand this issue in its entirety, it needs
to be defined, outlined, and addressed under the setting of its theological significance and its
firstcentury context. It must be traced back and proven reliable. This can be done through a number of
categories. The first, can be summarized as the origin of the cannon, that is, addressing why the early
church intrinsically created a cannon of scripture. The second is that of the date of canon, namely,
tracing its historicity and reliability, and the third, through recognizing and examining the contenders
for the cannon, their context, content, and direct address. The issue of canon must be examined

Developing A Smart Order Online System
ABSTRACT
There are many Online Retail Stores that have been developed in a commercial setting while I
researched the possibilities of developing a smart order online system. Upon researching these various
systems I did not find a system that allowed the manager/owner to track orders/drivers on the map
using smart devices.
Smart Order Online System is a context aware online retailing system with real time updates. It is
designed in a way to handle the operation of any type of online stores. Also, it s aimed at helping users
to obtain order information through a web interface or via a smart phone device. The system will
allow the customer to place an order, find location and direction to a branch, allows managers or
admin s to track the driver s location and display it on the map.
1. Introduction
This thesis explains in details the technical background, system features, system architecture and
system implementation of the Smart Order Online System (SOOS). The SOOS is designed to offer
users a better way to search, place, track and manage orders.
SOOS provides the user with the ability to place orders, group orders, track drivers and orders on map,
make adjustments and much more in a simple and easy to use environment.
SOOS allows administrators to make changes to product descriptions, product pricing, product
categorizing, and any other details regarding any product that are displayed online. This complete
control over inventory is reflected immediately to the storefront.

How Reganomics Destroyed Middle Class America
How Reaganomics Destroyed the Middle Class Reaganomics are the economic policies that were set
and promoted in 1980s by the U.S. President Ronald Reagan. These policies are mainly connected to
trickle down economics. There are four pillars that are associated with the economic policy of Reagan
and they include: reduce government economic regulation, reduce growth of how much the
government spends, reduce the marginal tax rates such as capital gains tax and income tax and lastly
reduce the level of inflation by controlling money supply growth. These four policies were expected to
increase investment and savings, balance the U.S. budget, reduce inflation, increase the economic
growth rate, restore healthy financial markets and reduce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government decided to fund government organizations such as Environmental Protection Agency
instead of funding the social security (Barone 120). This means that the department was left without
funds hence there was no money that could be used to pay those who were working in the social
security majority of which were middle class people. This shows how the middle class people were
destroyed as a result of Reaganomics which forced the middle class people to pay more taxes. In the
end of his two terms as the president of the U.S., 5% of the population which comprise of the rich had
received double wealth and economic share of ownership while 95% of the population which
comprise of the middle class people and the poor had no progress when it comes to immersion of
wealth instead they had lost more of their wealth due to inflation and high tax rates (Barone 120).
Nevertheless, the social security meant to benefit the rich poor since they were the ones who owned
property. The middle class people did not obtain any form of social security thus were forced to
protect their own wealth.
Unregulated economy: the main reason why Reaganomics policy was implemented was to stimulate
economic growth. In the beginning, the policy managed to stimulate economic growth but this was as
a result of increased spending among the middle class people and not as a result of tax cuts.

Take the Time to Read a Book
Leonard Pitts, Jr. says, I am not alone. He continues, There are at least two of us who have forgotten
how to read. He doesn t mean that people have forgotten how to read; rather people have forgotten
how to become one with the text. There is more than one person who feels that concentration becomes
blurred when the text in front of one requires full attention. Short ads and topics one finds interesting
are usually easier to read than intellectual books that are imposed on one. It s a little funny, isn t it?
I liked this article because I identify myself with it. I often begin reading a paragraph and my brain
begins to move away from what my eyes are reading. The problem is that I don t realize it until I get
to the end of the page. Like Pitts, I have found myself drifting away or unable to sit down to read
material that my job requires me to study and discuss.
I agree with Nicholas Carr s theory, Is Google Making Us Stupid? Carr argues that search engines,

Benir V. Alba
Legal Opinion on the Benir v. Alba Case
(Benir)
On the present case being addressed to the International Court of Justice in dealing with the matter of
sovereignty over the Island of Manca, the issue of legality belonging to which side of the parties at
dispute is put forward. The problem however, lies in, the period at which the dispute took place, for
International law has not evolved at that time unlike in this day and age.
The Statement of fact is as follows:
The Island of Manca, small in size and blessed by temperature vegetation, has been discovered by the
Albanese State in 1560, when it was inhabited by a native tribe, the Mancans. The Albanese state put a
flag, appointed a non permanent governor and occasionally sent ... Show more content on

Also, no objection to the form of Berniri government took place. Thus, this fulfills the Self
determination of the Peoples condition and guarantees a peaceful atmosphere.
2. After clarifying the former point to the court, the second and most crucial element to shed light on is
Territorial Acquisition. As demonstrated before in the Island of Palmas Case before, there must be
evidence as to a peaceful and continuous display of sovereignty on the territory; it should also be a
public and enduring practice. In the case of Benir, there is enough evidence to prove a peaceful and
continuous display of its sovereignty existed and still does, it established state control, managed good
relations with the natives (through intermarriage), as they coexisted peacefully, and it was willing to
protect the rights of other states in peace and in war, as well as offer for the safeguarding of the rights
of non nationals residing in it, however this is an infrequent happening since the island is small in size.
Thus, a peaceful atmosphere was provided for continuously by the Beniris, with only one exception at
the time of the attack put forward by

The Music Of The 20th Century
Have you ever partaken in piano or keyboard classes as a child, then this music piece should be
nothing new for you. It is one of the most famous but at the same time the most mysterious classical
masterpieces of the 18th century. It is Fur Elise ; a classical music piece composed by German
composer Ludwig van Beethoven. This piece of music was actually published in 1867, 40 years after
Beethoven passed away in the year of 1827. When Ludwig Nohl (a german music scholar) published
his piece, he uncovered the original manuscript for Fur Elise which was dated April 27th, 1810
(Fuld,241). This means the music piece was actually published 57 years after Beethoven first
composed it. Not only has this music piece been used to teach keyboard all around the world but a
famous American rapper by the name of Nas also used samples of this piece in his hit single I Can ,
and Gus Van Sant also used bits and pieces of this composition in his Elephant movie back in 2003.
The main reason I chose this music piece is that even though I haven t played a keyboard for over 2 to
3 years, the one piece of music that I will never forget how to play is Fur Elise , it s the first thing you
learn but the most memorable. The connection that I have with this piece is based on solely on the
way it sounds, but would knowing the history, and all of its musical features/techniques change the
way I react. Will it add value to my musical experience, or will everything just stay the same? That is

Pursuing A Painting Class
As I met with my academic advisor last semester to speak about classes, I was told I still needed an art
credit to fulfill my General Education. As I looked through the list I saw classes such as Art History,
Intro to Visual Arts, and Painting. I wanted to take an art class that I would find interesting and make
me work hard. I chose to sign up for Painting. I thought to myself, I painted in high school a lot, I
have some background in it, maybe I will like it! In a way, I was right. I learned a lot from this class, I
faced challenges, discovered new things, and learned more about myself during this semester s

until I reached a stopping point. This process went at different speeds for different paintings but was
always similar for each. I had many challenges this semester while painting. At first I struggled with
color mixing. It was hard for me to find the right pigments to mix in order to find the exact color that I
could visually see on the object. The first painting was a big trial for me and color mixing. I also
struggled with finding the exact shape and size of the object in the sketching phase. I found myself
redoing a lot of my sketching. As I got through these smaller struggles at the beginning of the
semester, I began coming across bigger and harder struggles to overcome. One of these struggles came
in the last set of paintings we did. I found these paintings to be the most difficult, as they should be. I
feel like I could never make my figure painting look as if it was standing at the right angle that I was

What power did the individual states maintain? Who was given more power, the national government
or the individual states? What were the implications of such a balance?
The states were willing to concede to concede to taxing with the states consent and also congress s
consent (Article V/II Section 25 29).
The individual states had quite a bit of power. It says how the states are in charge of supplying money
to a national government treasury. (How much money you put in depends on how big or small your
state is). The states had to agree upon taxes for paying for warfare as well, the national government
hadn t just forced these ideas upon them. (Article VIII Section 15 18).
The states had more power because the people had a say in how much money was used. The Articles
of Confederation said that the colonists had more control (because the states had representatives) over
the decisions that were being made. Overall, the states had to give their consent to the national
government in order for the national government to enforce it. This is significant because they were

The period of United States history in which Thornton Wilder published his pulitzer prize winning
book, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, was an age of dramatic political and social change. The general
population was slowly transitioning from a rural farm life to an urban city life. This led to a doubling
in the nation s total wealth from 1920 to 1929 which generally led to a wealthier and higher class
society. A big idea that was brought up was the introduction of mass culture which is exposure to the
same set of ideas which led to a reduction in regional differences in the entire nation. In fact, many
people bought radios, watched movies, and bought cheap automobiles. This period also had

A Raisin In The Sun Lena Quotes
Lena is arguably the most determined character in Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun. She
works tirelessly to support her family s dreams, and refuses to leave anyone behind. Not even a feeble
dying houseplant. Her hopes for the future of her family illustrate the classic idea of the American
Dream , indicating that anyone can achieve success if they work hard enough. Lena s withering plant
represents her will to survive, the dreams she has for her children, and her loyalty to the ones she
loves. While Lena hasn t had an easy life, she refuses to give up, just like the plant that continues to
grow without proper nutrients and sunlight.
Lena s plant represents her will to survive, despite her dreary circumstances. Lord if this little old

The Pardoner And Summoner In The Canterbury Tales
The Relationship Between the Pardoner and Summoner
In The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, characters from medieval times are portrayed.
Two important characters discussed are the Pardoner and the Summoner. The Pardoner is a young man
who sells church pardons to those who have done wrong. The Summoner is responsible for issuing
summons which order people to appear in court. Due to the author s view of the church, the Pardoner
and Summoner s physical description, and the two men s actions, it is clear that the Pardoner and
Summoner are in a homosexual relationship.
The author of The Canterbury Tales expresses his views of the church through the characters he
chooses to portray. N.S. Thompson writes about the Pardoner and says, The Pardoner, who sells
indulgences for money on his own behalf (Chaucer, Geoffrey 54). The Pardoner lacks respect for the
people who come to him for indulgences. He is concerned about his own wealth instead of helping
others receive forgiveness. Thompson then describes the Summoner as, A man who knows all the
secrets of his parish and is in a position to take bribes and other gifts (Thompson, The Canterbury
Tales 45). The Summoner is only interested in receiving money and gifts from ... Show more content

Impact Of China s Economic Impact On Australian Property
The introduction The research shows that China has become enormously important to Australia s
economy as its largest export destination, a rapid source of growth in inbound international tourism
and migration, plus a strong source of foreign investment. (Leigh W, 2015) Due to report of Australia
s government records, since 30 June 2015, 28.2% of Australia s estimated resident population was
born overseas. And the number of people who comes from china is the third largest group of Australia
s estimated resident population group (excluding people born in Australia). (Migration, 2015) as we
know, ever since 1980s, China s students flock into Australia to study. After they finished their study,
quite a fair amount of them decide to get Australia s PR or citizenship and stay in Australia. If people
decide to stay, they need a place to live. So these students certainly brought huge impact to Australia s
real estate industry. The impact of China s imigrat on Australian property has been both indirect
through the impact on the broader economy and direct through capital flows and Chinese developers
building Australian businesses. (Leigh W, 2015) so, understanding the new generation of China s
immigrate or will be is significant to Australia s real estate company if they want to be successful. And

A Brief Look Into The Evolution Of The From Atomic Theory
A Brief Look into the Evolution of DFT from Atomic Theory
Quantum Theory
The idea of atom existed as early as the Greek and Indian civilizations but more as a philosophical
thought rather than a well defined theory based on empirical evidence. Atom was assumed as
something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000
years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and
further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze
age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. Much later through the
fundamental studies in electromagnetism and blackbody radiation, the discovery and ... Show more

In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ)
related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was
confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles.
The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a
localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was
theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the
non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a
wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change
with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a
particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a
modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large
difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value
problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of
higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will
discuss shortly. Paul Dirac and Linus Pauling contributed more to the development of fundamental

Epic Of Beowulf Argumentative Essay
You have known about the brilliance of Beowulf the Great, slayer of the foul beast Grendel and of
Grendel s reviled mother, who dragged the ring supplier to her den, much to her own lament; Beowulf,
who slew the monster of the fortune store, the mythical beast who killed our kin for the loss of yet one

When living with a chronic illness, stubbornness can be both your best and your worst asset. On the
one hand, you re incredibly determined to not let your condition get the best of you, on the other, you

Still, being tenacious and having a fighting spirit is one of the most effective ways to cope with the

Using Social Media
Connecting with others who understand exactly what you re going through can be a life saver. There is
a very large and accepting group of people on social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram who continually support each other and help ease the burden of daily pain.
Look for hashtags such as, #spoonie, #chronicillness, #chronicpain, and #chroniclife.
Watching Mindless Movies
Distracting yourself from your pain can be a very healthy way to cope with the stress of living with a
chronic illness.
Watching a movie you don t have to pay attention to, means you have two socially acceptable hours to
stare at one fixed object, let your mind wander, and relax.
(Alternatively, you can get lost in the ridiculous plot and forget your troubles for a while.)
Napping Like It s Your Job
I don t know about you, but napping is, by far, my favorite way to cope with my fatigue, anxiety, and
feelings of overwhelm. When things get to be too much, I slip in my earbuds, turn on some soothing
music, recline in my chair, and take a nap.
Sleeping, like crying, is not a sign of weakness or laziness. It s simple self care, and it s important to
engage in it regularly.
Setting and Accomplishing Small Goals
Another piece of useful advice I got from a fellow spoonie is setting small goals.

How Marriage Has Changed For Persian Women
Shadi has been longing to separate from her husband, she is only allowed to do so on the grounds of
being a victim of domestic violence or is despising living with a drug addict. These don t apply to her
however, and since her migration to Australia she has learned that it s okay to fall out of love with
someone and still have a reasonable excuse to separate. Closely linking in with beauty and power and

result of migration to Australia.
Marriage celebrated in the Persian culture ceremonial wise, as well as its values has been proven to be
different to the western ideals of marriage in its traditional sense. For a questionnaire response,

Comparison of symbolism of kites in the Kite Runner and Master Harold and the boys
I am going to compare the symbolism of the kite in the play Master Harold and the boys by Athol
Fugard and in the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hossseini. Firstly I will talk about the symbolism
in both of the books separately. And then I will compare them to see the similarities and the
differences. The kite symbol has two different meanings. In the Kite Runner the kite represents kite
fighting and the blue kite that was the last opponent was the key to Baba s heart. In Master Harold and
the boys the kite is used to cheer up Hally when he was embarrassed by his farther. In the novel the
kite was made by a professional and in the play it is made by Sam. ... Show more content on

When Hally got to the top of the hill Sam moved down the hill a bit and held the kite up. The reason
of that was because a black man was not allowed to be in the same park as a white person. Sam
shouted Hally to go. This was the signal for Hally to run. Hally was impressed the kite was flying and
looping in the air. Hally couldn t believe it. At last he felt happy again and was proud to have Sam as a
friend. It works, Sam! We ve done it! This quote shows how Hally is now happy again and Sam had
succeeded in his job of making Hally feel better.
The kite represents sad moments in the play. When Sam and Hally were flying the kite they tied it to a
bench where they could sit and watch it fly. Sam had to leave but I wanted him to stay . This shows
that Hally wants to share his happy moments with Sam. The problem is that in 1950 in South Africa
rules were different and a black man was not allowed to sit on the same bench as a white man. It was
sort of sad to bring it down . This explains that the idea of the kite flying in the air got him into a
fantasy world and now that the kite is on the ground he is back in the reality.
Hally asks Sam if they should do it again, make another kite and enjoy the moments as they shared
last time. But Sam said No. You can t fly kites on rainy days which mean you can t be happy when
you re sad.
In The Kite Runner the kite does not always symbolize happiness also it shows cowardice and
betrayal. It shows that

Future Trends in Crisis Intervention
Future Trends in Crisis Intervention Abstract Mental Health Paraprofessionals (MHPP) will work with
the client and family on behavioral issues that occur in the home, school, and community. The MHPP
serves on the treatment team and assists professional staff with the execution of the treatment plan.
They also assist with securing community services that might be available to the client and the client s
family. The purpose of intensive Mental Health Paraprofessional Intervention is to enable the client to
be maintained in the most normalized, least restrictive setting as possible, and to prevent unnecessary,
inappropriate institutionalization. This paper discusses an overview paraprofessionals, the impact the
paraprofessionals have on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the constant contact they are an invaluable member of the treatment team. With how often
CCP s get to observe patients on a daily basis they are able to pick up on behavior patterns that other
staff may not see. They are also able to see how various treatments affect a patient in their daily lives.
Some CCPs are designated to work one on one with a single client. A CCP in this role is often
assigned as such because a client has a particular need. Such needs could include but are not limited to
helping a client with severe cognitive or physical limitations, watching a client whom is a danger to
himself or others or working with a client whose treatment goals involve intensive one on one work
(Wyman, 2012). Impact There are many ways that the use of counseling center paraprofessionals can
benefit the organization. One of the many benefits of the paraprofessional in the human service career
field could be that they require less training than typical clinician or other human service professional.
That way the CCP is able to become certified and begin work in a much shorter time frame then
someone who is going through all the required schooling and testing to become a licensed
professional. Another aspect deals with the lesser amount of pay therefore saving the organization
money. With the way budgets are being cut it is important to stretch every dollar as much as possible.

Comparing The Battle Of Shiloh And Bunker Hill
The battles of Shiloh and Bunker Hill are two very important battles to always remember and never
forget about. There are many reasons that they are important and why we talk about them until this
day. These two battles are from different times in history. The battle of Bunker Hill is a battle from the
Revolutionary War, and the Battle of Shiloh is from the Civil War. These battles were significant to
America because there were so many casualties.
The battle of Shiloh, also known as Pittsburg Landing, happened on the morning of April 6th, 1862. It
started off with the Confederates causing a surprise attack on the North. The battle commanders were
Ulysses S. Grant for the Union and Albert Sidney Johnston for the Confederates. This was a

Cold Medication
Cough and Cold Medication in Children Under Six Giving children under six over the counter cough
and cold medication when they are not feeling well seems like the best idea right? It seems like the
best idea because doctors, level one care givers, our parents, and other parents have always used them
to help their kids feel better correct? Well, this is not the case. The common cold is one of the most
difficult illnesses for parents to control. It is hard for parents to manage because it consists of a runny
nose, a cough, and possible sore throat. With children being so young they have not learned how to
blow their nose or communicate that they can not breathe through their nose or tell their parents that
their throat hurts. This leads to parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because Healthy children who do not have a URI may cough 1 to 34 times every day (Kelley
515). When coughing up to thirty four times a day it can give the idea of the possibility of an acute
cough when there is in fact nothing wrong and no sickness present. The reason for coughing when
there is not a sickness present is because a cough is a reaction that takes place when your body has to
clear anything that is blocking your airway. An irritation of a chemical or mechanical substance will
also result is a cough due to the brain sending the body an automatic message to cough to get rid of the
irritant that is present. This is because the abdominal and internal muscles have a high increase of
pressure in the lungs that leads to an explosion of air that releases all of the foreign bodies in the lungs
out into the air. (Kelley 515 516) A cough is not always an indication of an illness but is also the
bodies way of protecting itself from any unknown body that could be harmful to

Summary Of Putnam s Bowling Alone
When reading Putnam s ideas in Bowling alone, social capital is best defined as a theory that means
social networks have value. Putnam has made it clear that six times in the 20th century social capital
was independently invented, all which called attention to the way that people where living, and how
their social ties were productive. This can be closely related to Tonnies idea of gemeinschaft because
this was all tied to the community and they morals of it. Toennies referred to gemeinschaft as the roots
in the rural, kinship based life of the past, which goes along with Putnam s book which is referring to
the baby boomers. Who coming from a time where everyone new everyone, and the kin or extended

Federated Department Stores made a decision in 2005 to reposition and consolidate 15 of its regional
department store chains under just one national brand Macy s. This decision was in response to the
decline in sales and profits that had hit the traditional department store industry, which was in a
maturing stage and moving towards a downward trend for some time. Just three years later, in 2008,
U.S. economy was hit with a recession that threatened the livelihood of many successful retail giants.
While Macy s did experience a significant drop in revenue in 2008 with a net loss of $4,803 million,
compared to other department stores such as Mervyn s that went bankrupt when the recession hit,
Macy s managed to stay in the game. Macy s ability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Macy s launched Everyday Value strategy program that promoted value pricing such that
customers would be able to purchase products without having to wait for sales day and the availability
of coupons to get the most bang for their buck. In this way, Macy s would have a better chance to stay
close to its customers, provide affordable luxury and find a viable middle ground. While consolidation
and repositioning efforts had their benefits, there were some challenges. Change is often very difficult
as most individuals are creatures of habit. Thus, consolidation of department stores to one brand (in
this case Macy s) meant that existing consumers who had regularly shopped at their favorite
department stores (such as Marshall Field s in Chicago) would now have to adjust to new products,
prices and services. In fact, the perception of some loyal consumers post consolidation was negative,
complaining that Macy s store had lower quality products and services. In addition, Macy s had
standardized its products and pricing nationwide to lower purchasing cost, however this tactic actually
backfired. Standardization resulted in higher prices of products offered at Macy s compared to the
former regional department stores chains, thus consumers were apprehensive to shop at the

Gluten Hearing Loss
Gluten Free and Hearing Loss You may have heard of the term, gluten, the binding agent found in
many grains, especially wheat. Gluten acts like a glue and helps food maintain their shape. Gluten is
comprised of two main proteins, gliadin and glutenin, and can be found in grains such as durum,
barley, kamut, rye, spelt, farro, and wheat. In addition, gluten is added to all sorts of processed foods,
including pastries, cookies, condiments, ice cream, cakes, beer, as well as cereals. Due to this, it is
imperative for those who are looking to avoid gluten products, to look at the list of ingredients on
packaged foods. Nowadays, gluten is a controversial topic, with many individuals on each side of the
fence. While there is a debate about the dangers of gluten, many people tolerate gluten. However,
there are individuals who have a sensitivity to gluten and cannot process it without having negative
effects. For individuals who suffer from certain health conditions, such ... Show more content on

Gluten can cause a temporary reduction in hearing and can cause a decrease in tinnitus, as well as ear
congestion in individuals who are gluten sensitive. Histamine levels that rise after the ingestion of
gluten can affect the soft tissues in your ears, and can lead to swelling. Swelling in the ears causes
congestion, which can lead to fluid buildup within the ear and can cause temporary hearing loss. In
addition, a recent study was published in the journal, Laryngoscope, which identifies the connection
between Meniere s and wheat. Here is the abstract from the study: While a gluten free diet is not
required by everyone, for those who are gluten intolerant staying away from the gliadin and glutenin
grains could possibly help you prevent certain hearing

Eli Whitney One Of America s Great Men
I claim that Eli Whitney is falsely labeled as one of America s great men. Whitney was chosen to
construct military weapons, but he had no prior experience assembling anything of that nature. He
signed a contract with the government on June 14, 1798 stating that he would deliver ten thousand
stands of arms as his fifteen month deadline approached. Rumors of war were roaring, but Whitney
still took one year to deliver his first round of weapons. He did not complete his contract until almost
nine years had passed. During the decade it took him to produce his end of the bargain, he spoke of
discovering a new and efficient technique. He said that by creating an engraving on a copper plate he
could then produce numerous duplicates of a specific

  • 3. The Media s Hierarchy Of Human Needs The purpose of the news media is to broadcast information in different mediums, gain a larger audience (web, print, and television), satisfy different audience s through the use of surveillance, and to do all of the above and make a profit. The media will broadcast sometimes the same information in many ways in order for it to reach most people that have access to either cable, Internet or social media. Once the information has reached the people in the community it satisfies their need for information which can be done through surveillance, and lastly there is always a profit in revenue or ratings. The media must satisfy its necessary audiences in order to touch base with the Maslow s Hierarchy of Human Needs which is survival, safety, social belonging, self esteem and self actualization. Crime is a human conduct in violation of the criminal laws of a state, the federal government, or a local jurisdiction that has the power to make laws (Schmalleger, 2007). Crime is primarily an offense against human relationships and secondly violates the law, since laws are created and written to protect safety and fairness in human relationships (Schmalleger, 2007). Another definition of crime is any harmful act including violations of the fundamental prerequisites for well being which can include food, shelter, clothing, medical services, challenges at work and play (recreational) activities, and security from predatory individuals (criminals) and this is all covered under the Maslow s ... • 4. The Civil Rights Movement Of Fareed Zakaria s The Rise... In the following document I have read and researched two different points asked in the assignment. The first is a summarization and my take on Zakaria s article, along with answered questions from the assignment. The second is a research portion, provided by the listed sources, about the civil rights movement. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Zakaria article and it was an eye opener looking into the civil rights movement. Fareed Zakaria s The Rise of Illiberal Democracy details his view on elected governments and the ignorance and abuse of their power. He claims that they do not use their powers in the right way and instead deny basic civil rights and liberties. Democracy can be defined numerous ways in different countries. In Zakaria s definition, to paraphrase, a democracy is viewed as a process of selecting government and is to always mean the rule of the people. In my opinion this definition is very true when associating democracy with countries such as the one I preside in because we have the right to vote for the people making decisions in individual states and, most importantly, our federal government. To have a democracy intuitively means A good government . Following democracy in the article, Zakaria highlights two other forms of government that contrast to democracy and where they are used. Constitutional liberalism is not a procedure for selecting government, but rather the government s goal . This concept of government rule looks out more for the individual ... • 5. How Does Shakespeare Use Dramatic Speech SPEECH: how does Shakespeare use dramatic form to investigate notions of human weakness When you fear a foe, fear crushes your strength; and this weakness gives strength to your opponents. William Shakespeare Shakespeare uses the dramatic form of tragedy to comment on the flaws of humanity and in particular jealousy in his tragedy Othello. It features a valiant general of royal descent, Othello, who through psychological manipulation by the Machiavellian antagonist Iago is transformed into a man whose consuming jealousy has slowly deteriorated him into a savage capable of resolving problems with only acts of violence. Act 3 Scene 3 features the transformation of Othello, and showcases Iago s monstrous birth and medicine working in action. Using various literary and dramatic techniques, Shakespeare eloquently provides a social commentary on how jealousy is an inherent weakness in the human condition. • 6. The Experiences Of Life In Our Town By Thornton Wilder Our Town by Thornton Wilder overviews the small details of Grover s Corners, following the daily life of the Gibb s and Webb s family, specifically the teenagers George and Emily, during the turn of the century. He describes the play as, an attempt to find value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life, which shows its purpose is to show the audience to appreciate the little things in life. Wilder s Our Town is successful in its attempt to show the audience the pricelessness of the small experiences of life. Wilder achieves his goal of showing the importance of miniscule details in life when at the beginning of Act 1, it states that the stage is barren, and there are only two tables and four chairs. The reason for this is because fancy scenery is not needed to appreciate life. This is shown when the stage manager says, There s some scenery for those who think they have to have scenery , showing that scenery is not required in this play to achieve its goal. It emphasizes the meaning of life, and how common interactions are more important than lucious additions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A micropipette is standard laboratory equipment used to measure and dispense a specific volume of liquid (#5 buffalostate.edu). This is a very helpful tool that we need to master and able to use in a biochemistry lab. The purpose of this lab exercise is learning how to use a micropipette to find the density of different liquids, and be able to identify an unknown liquid using density. The expect outcome for this experiment is the value you obtained will be close or exact the theoretical values. In this exercise, all of the micropipettes measured in the form of a microliter. There are different models of micropipettes have different minimum and maximum limits. The two micropipettes we were used for this experiment are P1000 and P100. The correct micropipettes were chose based on the volume of the liquid that needs to be measure. Micropipettes should never go past the set limits, either lower or higher. The characters in the two cast were portrayed similarity. Compared to previous years of imperialism, this period was focused primarily on benefitting the colonial power, Britain, instead of establishing new settlements. Even though the British imperialism of the late 19th century/early 20th century brought great wealth, knowledge, and technological advancements to the country, it was at the expense of many other people in the empire. Britain, and Europe as a whole, had to find a way to justify their superiority over these other countries subsequently leading scientists decided to use their background and knowledge to create disciplines that had racist ideologies at the root. These pseudo sciences were constructed to rationalize the imperialism during the 19th century. Modern Biblical New Testament Canon The modern biblical New Testament canon (BNTC) as we possess it today did not come to us in the way that we know it; the original autographs of the BNTC were not leatherbound books with thumb indexing and gold edges on the pages. There was a very lengthy process in which these books were passed down to us. When this subject is being addressed, what is being discussed is the twentyseven books we find in what is now called the BNTC. These twentyseven books represent the message of Jesus of Nazareth recorded by his followers in the first few decades after his death. The issue of canon is the question of how these books were assembled and put together. More so, however, the issue encompasses the differentiation of these books from other contemporaneous stories of Jesus in the successive centuries after his death; therefore, in order to understand this issue in its entirety, it needs to be defined, outlined, and addressed under the setting of its theological significance and its firstcentury context. It must be traced back and proven reliable. This can be done through a number of categories. The first, can be summarized as the origin of the cannon, that is, addressing why the early church intrinsically created a cannon of scripture. The second is that of the date of canon, namely, tracing its historicity and reliability, and the third, through recognizing and examining the contenders for the cannon, their context, content, and direct address. It is one of the most famous but at the same time the most mysterious classical masterpieces of the 18th century. It is Fur Elise ; a classical music piece composed by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven. This piece of music was actually published in 1867, 40 years after Beethoven passed away in the year of 1827. When Ludwig Nohl (a german music scholar) published his piece, he uncovered the original manuscript for Fur Elise which was dated April 27th, 1810 (Fuld,241). This means the music piece was actually published 57 years after Beethoven first composed it. Not only has this music piece been used to teach keyboard all around the world but a famous American rapper by the name of Nas also used samples of this piece in his hit single I Can , and Gus Van Sant also used bits and pieces of this composition in his Elephant movie back in 2003. The main reason I chose this music piece is that even though I haven t played a keyboard for over 2 to 3 years, the one piece of music that I will never forget how to play is Fur Elise , it s the first thing you learn but the most memorable. The connection that I have with this piece is based on solely on the way it sounds, but would knowing the history, and all of its musical features/techniques change the way I react. I had many challenges this semester while painting. At first I struggled with color mixing. It was hard for me to find the right pigments to mix in order to find the exact color that I could visually see on the object. The first painting was a big trial for me and color mixing. I also struggled with finding the exact shape and size of the object in the sketching phase. I found myself redoing a lot of my sketching. As I got through these smaller struggles at the beginning of the semester, I began coming across bigger and harder struggles to overcome. One of these struggles came in the last set of paintings we did. I found these paintings to be the most difficult, as they should be. I feel like I could never make my figure painting look as if it was standing at the right angle that I was seeing it. The Pardoner And Summoner In The Canterbury Tales The Relationship Between the Pardoner and Summoner In The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, characters from medieval times are portrayed. Two important characters discussed are the Pardoner and the Summoner. The Pardoner is a young man who sells church pardons to those who have done wrong. The Summoner is responsible for issuing summons which order people to appear in court. Due to the author s view of the church, the Pardoner and Summoner s physical description, and the two men s actions, it is clear that the Pardoner and Summoner are in a homosexual relationship. The author of The Canterbury Tales expresses his views of the church through the characters he chooses to portray. N.S. Thompson writes about the Pardoner and says, The Pardoner, who sells indulgences for money on his own behalf (Chaucer, Geoffrey 54). The Pardoner lacks respect for the people who come to him for indulgences. He is concerned about his own wealth instead of helping others receive forgiveness. Impact Of China s Economic Impact On Australian Property The introduction The research shows that China has become enormously important to Australia s economy as its largest export destination, a rapid source of growth in inbound international tourism and migration, plus a strong source of foreign investment. (Leigh W, 2015) Due to report of Australia s government records, since 30 June 2015, 28.2% of Australia s estimated resident population was born overseas. And the number of people who comes from china is the third largest group of Australia s estimated resident population group (excluding people born in Australia). (Migration, 2015) as we know, ever since 1980s, China s students flock into Australia to study. After they finished their study, quite a fair amount of them decide to get Australia s PR or citizenship and stay in Australia. If people decide to stay, they need a place to live. So these students certainly brought huge impact to Australia s real estate industry. Atom was assumed as something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000 years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ) related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles. The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will discuss shortly.
