Words : The person with Be
Perfect will often use
parentheses:
Example :
– “ I am here today, as I said, to
teach you about drivers.”
– “ TA is, as we say, a therapy of
personality.”

4. Be Perfect
The wording for a Be Perfect
frequently includes words and
phrases like these, whether in
parentheses or not. They act as
qualifiers but add no new
information to what is being
said. Typically : as it were,
probably, possibly, certainly,
completely, one might say, as
we have seen.

5. Be Perfect
Another clue is that the
speaker may count points off
by numbers or letters.
Example:
– “ Our topic today is – One – to
discuss drivers and – two – to
study their relationship to
script.”

6. Be Perfect
Tones
– Often sound Adult.
– Well modulated.
– Neither high nor low.
Posture
– Often look like Adult.
– Upright.
– Evenly balanced round
midline.

Gestures
– Counting on the fingers to
accompany the points
counted off by letters or
numbers in the wordings.
– Hand may stroke chin in the
traditional ‘thinker’s gesture”.
– Finger tips may be place
together in a V shape, the
gesture called steepling.

8. Be Perfect
Facial Expressions
– Eyes look upwards and to one
side usually while the person
is making a pause in the
speech. (He is trying to give
the perfect answer).
– Mouth is often slightly tensed,
with the corners drawn a little
outwards.
