602 E. Washington Street. The Agudas Achim Synagogue relocated and is now at 401 E.
Oakdale Blvd. in Coralville. They moved because the building was falling apart and kept getting
flooded. We visited a Shabbat service Friday evening, on February 22, 2013. This service was
nothing like I have ever experienced before. Many of the symbols that appear in today s
synagogues have a biblical relevance. The outside of the building was brick and looked modern
and simple. As you walked up to the entrance doors, there was Hebrew writings/symbols written
above the synagogue. Outside the sanctuary there was a basket full of yarmulkes that boys could
wear if they wanted to. Inside there was a sanctuary that had an aisle down the middle of it, with
pews on each side. In the front of the sanctuary there was two curved stained glass walls, but there
was no art in them. Above the front of the sanctuary there was wallpaper with Hebrew scripture
written across. Along the side of the sanctuary the Star of David was hanging. Up front

During an economics lecture the professor said to my class I do not know whether the increasing
income inequality is an issue or not . I was perplexed. I thought the goal of Economics, as a social

is income inequality that renders many people worse off, not an issue? By not stating his opinion,
he wished to remain unbiased. However, if everyone were to keep their understanding of justice and

solutions to some of the most pressing problems of our time. Realizing I want to be equipped with
the tools necessary to take appropriate measures when the welfare of individuals is compromised, I

Truman Held, Meridian Hill, and Lynne Rabinowitz are young passionate activists during the
