Community bag:
A tool by which the nurse, during her visit will
enable her to perform:
 Nursing procedure with ease
 Save time and effort
PURPOSE: -
The bag is
needed during
each home,
school or
industrial visit.
For inspection
of the client’s
like: TPR.
For performing
certain
procedure’s
like, urine
analysis, ante-
natal
assessment
etc.

A. Cotton or plastic
bag with:-
• Cotton swabs
• Bandages
• Small dressing packets

• 1 Scissor
• 1 Eye dropper
• 1 Solution bowel
• 1 Plastic kidney
basin
• 1 Oral
thermometer
• 1 Rectal

PRINCIPLES FOR USING BAG-TECHNIQUE:
Prevention of contamination
Protection of the caregiver
Make articles readily accessible
Make follow-up care
PROCEDURE: -
Wash hands
Remove hand washing material
Spread newspaper
Select area of work.
procedure continue…
After procedure, wash hands under
tap water.
Close the bag.
Remove needed equipment’s.
Remove the apron from the bag
and put it on.

Return articles to the
bag.
Wait for 5 minutes.
Use cotton swab
moistened with spirit and
wipe outside of used
bottles

Write a report of what
was observed, what was
done, instructions given.
Close the bag.
Fold used newspaper
with used side inside,
and return to outside
pocket.
NURSE’S RESPONSIBILITY:-
The bag should
contain all
necessary
articles, supplies
and equipment.
The bag and its
contents should
be cleaned.
The bag and its
contents should
be well protected.
CONTINUE…
Hand
washing
should be
done
frequently.
The bag
should be
cleaned
thoroughly
before re-
using.

after
performing.
