Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo Themes
Alfred Hitchcock might be history s most respected director among both the critics and the public. I
think He made Vertigo to celebrate the entertainment we love about the movies, yet ones that, upon
closer inspection, reveal a deeper understanding of how techniques work wonders on the
subconscious. Vertigo might be one of his greatest movies of all time and should credit more often
about this masterpiece. When I watched Vertigo, I believe it has three themes throughout the whole
entire film. The themes I recognized throughout the movie are love, guilt, and illusion. There can be a
lot of debate on whether I am right or wrong about the themes but let me explain more in my essay.
Alfred Hitchcock shows love throughout the film but isn t pretty. ... Show more content on

Madeleine, the object of his obsession, is a fantasy, or the ghost of Elster s wife. When Madeleine is
really Judy, she falls in love with Scottie but she loves a man who thinks he s in love with someone
else. She has to become that someone else to get his love but how is that for a healthy relationship?
Scottie can t ever love Judy for who she is; he has to turn her into Madeleine to feel anything at all but
I don t think we can ever call that love. Also, Hitchcock manifests love in the acting by showing it in
the beginning, middle, and end of the movie. He shows much Madeline cares about Scottie and vice
versa. The next theme I discovered in Vertigo was guilt. When Scottie sees his fellow policeman fall to
his death, he s disabled not only from acrophobia, but also by a crushing sense of guilt. Even if he
doesn t say so explicitly, we sense that Hitchcock is zooming the camera on Scottie because he
believes that he caused the officer s death and the officer was trying to save Scottie s life. Also, I think
getting involved with saving Madeleine may have been a way to get rid of some of that guilt. When he
thinks his fear of heights also killed Madeleine, he loses his

Unholy Confessions Mood
I started off my day by waking up to my boyfriend s phone alarm. The song is called Unholy
Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold. It is in the genre of heavy metal and he picked that song to help
wake him up since he s a heavy sleeper. The tempo of the music was fast and the dynamics of this
song was forte. The main contributor to the dynamics is the vocalist who just screams the majority of
the song. The combination of loud and fast music created an upbeat mood which makes us feel like
jumping out of bed every morning. For the meter, there were four beats in a measure, and I found it by
listening for the downbeat which was the combination of the bass, the bass drum, and loud electric
guitar on the first beat of every measure. I don t particularly like this genre of music and listening to it
makes me feel very uncomfortable because to me it s very chaotic and not it s not peaceful enough. In
my musical theatre class, we are studying the musical Show Boat (1927). During class, we watched a
YouTube video on the performance of the song called Ol Man River. This song s genre is opera and I

I love this song because it is sung by my favorite artist Taylor Swift and the genre is pop. I can
immediately tell this song is pop because of the style of the song. The beat is fast, the guitar and
keyboard creates a hip and cool beat, and I can recognize the artists voices immediately. The texture of
this song is thick as it is edited to have many different instrumental parts adding to make the song
come together as one. Zayn is a male singer and sings in the countertenor vocal range, but he can also
sing in a high soprano vocal range like Taylor Swift does in this song. The couple both take turns

Target Costing
Target Costing on Mercedez Benz
Mercedes Benz (MB) is one of the world s most successful car manufacturers since its establishment
in 1886. They used target costing in the design and production of one of its products, the M Class,
which is a new sports utility vehicle model, in response to their first time suffering loss in 1993
because of cost inefficiency and problems with material purchasing and adapting to market changes.
MB started developing a range of new products such as the C Class in 1993, the E Class in 1995, the
new sportster SLK in 1996, and the A Class and M Class All Activity Vehicle (AAV).
The issues could be raised from this case are how MB reacts to the environmental changes by
applying target costing (TC) into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, MB should work its best to derive a comprehensive category list prior to index
development. Finally obtain the target cost through the Target Costing equation. Importance Index
(table 4) shows the degree of importance towards customers of each component which may be
considered when purchase of a new MB product while Target Cost Index (table 5) is a measure for the
deviation of importance (which the component should be given) and component cost. ABC is an ideal
instrument to meet this requirement. Therefore, Tartget Costing was used in the AAV production
project. However, there are some problems existing in the development of those indexes as well as the
way MB was interpreting them. Meanwhile, MB could use achievement ratio and cost reports to
monitor the performance of Kaizen Costing. MB then compared the target cost with drifting cost to
find out the cost reduction targets for each function group. In order to achieve this, MB should seek to
develop certain organizational arrangements (through policies or culture) to foster a spirit of
continuous improvement.
Finally, i would like to recommend MB to always maintain a good relationship and cooperation with
all those suppliers since MB become rely on them to achieve target costing. Indeed, as a leader in
luxury car market, innovation on design and

The Plight of The African Slave Essay
Introduction
Slavery was one of the darkest periods in African American history. Africans were taken from their
homes in West Africa and brought to America to work on plantations. However, slavery was not
something new as it existed in Africa before Europeans partook in it, but slavery in Africa was very
different from slavery in America. During their voyage through the Middle Passage many slaves
perished. Those who survived were sold and subjected to the harsh life on the plantations. When this
happened, their authentic cultures were drastically changed from the way of life in their native
homelands in Africa to life in the plantation society of the American colonies. In this essay, I will
attempt to show how the enslaved Africans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Political System
Kings and queens had the authority in many villages such as in Venture s. Often times there were more
than one person in charge of the government. As in the case in Oludah Equiano s homeland, there
were no kings but chief and elders who ran the government of his village. According to Equiano, for
every transaction of the government, as far as my slender observation extended was conducted by the
chief or elders of the place (191). The political system also was consisted of judges and senators in
addition to the chiefs and elders. Surprisingly there were no jails and the punishment depended on the
crime committed. For example, according to Equaino, Adultery was sometimes punished with slavery
or death.... (191).
In America, the enslaved people had no political or judicial systems. They went from being kings and
chiefs to merely commoners under enslavement. They were two classes of

In the poems Mid Term Break by Seamus Heaney, On The Train by Gillian Clarke, On My First
Sonne by Ben Jonson and The Affliction of Margaret by William Wordsworth, all of the poets convey
a loss or death, experienced by either the poet themselves, or other people too. In Mid Term Break ,
Seamus Heaney experiences the loss of his younger brother (he is four years old: a four foot coffin, a
foot for every year ). In On The Train , Gillian Clarke writes about the Paddington rail crash, on 5th

He is reminded that he is the eldest, and as such is now treated more as a man than a child. The effect
of the death has a large effect on the family: In the porch I met my father crying this is ironic, as his
father had always taken funerals in his stride . The use of language adds to the effect of the poem:
wearing a poppy bruise on his left temple . Heaney uses the metaphor of a poppy marking the bruise
on his head because poppies are used to commemorate and respect those who have lost their lives in
conflict, and generally signify death and remembrance. Heaney starts off using simple language, and
the phrase: at ten o clock the ambulance arrived with the corpse, stanched and bandaged by nurses
suggests a detachment of Heaney, from the events, and helplessness as all that he can do is watch.
Simple language such as: corpse suggests an inability for Heaney to express his feelings, and is also
the first confirmation that we have of a death. The sentences and language used by Heaney soon
change from simple structures to that of a complex structure, representing the discovery of his feelings
towards the tragedy: Snowdrops and candles soothed the bedside; I saw him the first time in six weeks
this is an example of a complex sentence used by Heaney and also shows how he is addressing his
feelings.

Master Craftsmen in the Medieval
I like crafts that are made out of necessity because they re a little naive you made it because you
needed it. Amy Sedaris. Master craftsmen during the Medieval Ages created items needed for the
kingdom to thrive. Craftsmen included candle makers, shoemakers, and farmers, but the most famous
craftsmen were blacksmiths, carpenters, and masons. Every type of craftsmen were in groups called
guilds and every guild needed to cooperate. If one guild failed to meet its needs, then the whole
medieval structure will fail, causing the kingdom to fall.
Carpenters, masons, and blacksmiths were important craftsmen in building castles and villages and
you had to go through apprenticeship for many years before becoming one of the three master
craftsmen. Before becoming a master craftsman, the child started their training at the age of eleven or
twelve and became an apprentice. A child would be able to choose his own profession or follow the
family business. Some craftsmen that a child can become include: carpenters, masons, and
blacksmiths The apprentice would last from five to nine years depending on the trade. He received no
wages and could not marry until he was a journeyman. After finishing apprenticeship, the apprentice
became a journeyman. A journeyman received money for his labour and bought supplies that he
needed. During his own time, he created a Masterpiece and later presented it to his group of
craftsmen, or guild, to see if he was ready to be a Master ,

Medea Internal Conflict Essay
In Medea, by Euripides, conflicts play a major role in the creation of the play. Some examples of these
conflicts are with Medea and Jason, Medea and herself, and Medea and Creon. Medea is shown to be
a strong, independent woman who does what she wants as well as doesn t let anything stand in her
way. She shares qualities of a traditional male at the time, and the qualities of a traditional female.
Euripides makes this clear in the play by creating conflicts to prove women can be a powerful
character and that the play in general challenges the idea of misogyny.
Internal conflicts within Medea shed light on her true character and her difficulties to make decisions.
Throughout the play, there are many cases of Medea contemplating her ... Show more content on

It shows how she does have a heart and a conscience, which was something readers weren t too sure
about prior to this internal conflict, since she killed her brother without any issues. Euripides makes it
obvious that she is strong, and headstrong about her decision to destroy Jason.
Medea s conflict with Jason proves to be the main conflict in the play, which really sheds light into the
fact that Euripides created this play to challenge the notion of feminism. After Jason s betrayal, Medea
decides to take control. It is evident in the way she manipulates other characters within the play, and
how she handles situations she is in, that she is quite intelligent. Her motivation and will to
accomplish her own goals, portrays Medea as the complete opposite of a typical patriarchal woman
who embodies the norms of patriarchy in Greek society. In the play, Jason says, I married you, chose
hatred and murder for my wife no woman, but a tiger... (1. 1343 44) This quote shows the misogyny
with Jason, because he is saying that him and the society have made Medea this way. But maybe
Medea started acting
McBane 3 this way because of how Jason lacked respect for her and drove her to do the horrendous
actions. Medea lashing out on Jason further proves the fact that she is her own woman, and becomes
the first symbol of feminism in the Greek culture. Another example of Medea s

Jiro Dreams of Sushi is an American documentary directed by David Gelb. The film follows the story
of Jiro Ono, an 85 year old sushi master and his two sons, Yoshikazu, and Takashi, both of whom are
also sushi chefs. For 40 years Jiro, a three Michelin Star chef, has been crafting immaculate sushi in a
ten seat restaurant on the second floor of a Tokyo subway station. Sukiyabashi Jiro is small, and to

regarded honorably. Set in Japanese context, the film is a fine representation of culinary practice and
work ethics. Apprentices must work long hours with modest income, but the reward lies in the craft
itself. The modern socio cultural perception overlooks such belief. Western culture is more inclined
towards making quick money in the shortest period of time. Tradition and culture are equally
significant for Jiro s family. Having worked under his father since the age of 19, Yoshikazu has
become a chef of equal skill. Ironically, he believes himself as unworthy of his father s legacy. For
Japanese families, success is essential, but for Jiro s sons, success means much more. As Yoshikazu
explains, Always look beyond and above yourself. Always try to improve on yourself. Always strive
to elevate your craft. That s what he taught me (Iwashina, Pellegrini, Ono, 2011). Jiro s success could
grant him retirement in an exotic location, yet he considers his craft his reward in life. His expression
of self dedication never waivers. His focus in life centers around his family and continuing to master

Hitler And The Nazi Party
Nazism in America Probably one of the most infamous political groups in history were the Nazis, a
party created and lead by Hitler, an equally awful man. The Nazi party was based in Germany, and
many Germans had fallen prey to their deception through their immoral methods, but it was a true
surprise when Americans started to become ensnared by their deceit as well. After WWI, Germany
was in ruins; so many Germans immigrated to the US. Some of these immigrants fit in quite well into
American society and carried on to be loyal citizens. However some were very hostile to assimilate
into society, those who were humiliated and scared by Germany s economy and of the backlash of the
war, yet still stuck to their pride to an extreme. People like this created Nazi sympathizing parties in
the US, such as the American Bund. The American Bund, lead by Fritz Kuhn a chemical engineer
from Munich dubbed the American fuehrer by the press, originally called the Friends of New
Germany (reorganized in 1936 due to friction between Germany and the US), tried to cultivate Nazi
culture in America after Hitler came to power in Germany in January of 1933 due to their devotion to
him and his ideology. The Bund, headquartered in New York, would target German influenced
locations in America, such as Wisconsin which was populated by many German born and first

John B Watson Behaviorism
The behaviorism perspective displays how the environment impacts the way people behave. This
perspective was founded by Watson, who wanted to revolutionize the study of human psychology in
order to put it on firm experimental footing. (http://www.iep.utm.edu/behavior/) Behaviorism shows
the chemical responses in our brain are triggered by the external part of our bodies. For example,
behaviorism explains why we feel pleasure when we gamble, drink, smoke. Our body releases
endorphins which allows us to feel pleasure from doing these things. The first time you feel the rush
of gambling is what makes you want to keep gambling, even if it is not in your best interest.
One of the pioneers of the behaviorism perspective was John B. Watson. He was born to a poor family
in Greenville, South Carolina. When Watson was 13, his father left due to a drinking problem and his
countless affairs. Watson went to the University of Chicago, which sparked his interest in behavior. He
saw psychology as the study of people s actions with the ability to predict and control those actions.

Civil War Prosthetics

and how they are performed today. My goal in this paper is to inform you on surgical procedures,
amputation techniques and prosthetics of the Civil War. The Civil War was the beginning of modern

Electoral Americ The Purpose Of The Electoral College
Electoral College
The Electoral College was a compromise in order to pick a president between the Congress s vote and
the citizens vote. The selection of Electors would meet and vote for the president and vice president,
they would also count the electoral votes by Congress. There are 538 electors, but a majority of 270
electoral votes is required to elect a vice president or a vice president. The amount of electors equals
the amount of members of the House of Representative that states have plus two more for the Senator.
Each candidate running for president has a group of electors in each state. The candidates electors are
chosen by the candidates political party but, different laws in different states change how the electors
are selected. When voting for a President we are actually voting for our state candidates election. After
the presidential election, the governor of their state writes a Certificate of Ascertainment which list the
candidates for that state as well as their electors. The Certificate of Ascertainment also shows which
electors will represent the state at the election meeting as well as the winning presidential candidate.
The meeting of the electors is held on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after
the presidential election. In their respective states, the electors cast their votes for both the Vice
President and President on separate ballots. The voters votes are then recorded and sent to Congress
on the Certificates of Votes.

Allegory Of The Republic By Plato s The Republic
Allegory of the Cave is a dialog between Socrates and Gloucon in The Republic written by Plato. The
image of the cave is a universal picture of the human conditions and a complex metaphor that applies
to everyone in society. It questions the mentality and the biased point of view created by the society
and human nature (which relates to stereotyping, something I will explain further into the essay). The
idea delivered through the dialogue thousands of years ago is so general that examples could still be
found in today s society.
Socrates draws the mental image of the cave to his student in the beginning. The cave is long and
dark, but at the opening to the cave you can see some light coming in. In the cave there are humans
chained as prisoners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the allegory, his friends who have never left the cave and experienced what that one prisoner has
mock him and look down upon his findings. This leaves the prisoner in a dilemma in expressing and
communicating what is real to them. They tell him that he has been blinded by outside sources and
what they believe is the truth because it has been in front of them all their lives, but the prisoner who
left knows not to believe so because of what he learned. He is then left pondering about what is an
actual truth and what is not, and this is terribly mind blowing. This is why I think the phrase ignorance
is bliss, explains the allegory. Because at the end of the day, the prisoners who never left do not have
to deal with the troubles of wondering about things beyond their created world, while the prisoner that
left and came back must consider both truths brought upon him and make a decision of what to
believe and have the responsibility of creating his own opinion. This responsibility cannot be taken
lightly and can be troubling, while the prisoners who never left do not have this weight on their
shoulders. This is how being ignorant may just be an easier way out then gaining knowledge beyond
comprehensibility. Because overall, it s less to think about; and overthinking is tiring to the

user goals. For example, for a receptionist to create an appointment for the patient, he/she must take
numbers of steps, such as logging into the system by providing appropriate ID/password, find patient
in the system, select date/time/doctor for appointment, saves the appointment etc. One of the best
ways of documenting functional requirements are use case. Functional requirements are what the user
expects from the system/software. For example if the system is to schedule an appointment for patient,
then that system should be able to create a new appointment, edit/modify the existing appointment,
cancel/delete an existing appointment, etc. Basically, functional requirements defines what a system is
meant to do and on the other hand, non functional requirements defines how a system is supposed to
be. Non functional requirements are not related to the functionality of the product/system. It defines
the qualities around the system (FURPS+ model) and not the specific behavior of a given system. In
the Unified Process, requirements are categorized as FURPS+ model which means functional,
usability, reliability, performance and supportability. + in FURPS+ are sub factors such as

Candidate: Jacob Savarirayan
Candidate number: 0006120082
Design:
Focus problem: Investigating the relationship between the relative molecular mass a primary alcohol
and the respective enthalpy of combustion for that alcohol.
Independent, dependent, and controlled variables:
Variable Manipulating, measuring, or controlling variable
Independent variable The primary alcohol used Different alcohols (methanol, ethanol, and 1 propanol)
will all be used within their respective spirit burners.
Dependent variable The amount (mass) of alcohol burned The dependent variable will be measured by
taking readings of both the initial and final masses of the spirit burner (without the cap) thus the
change in mass can be calculated.
Controlled variable 1 The change in temperature within the water in the metal can will be held
constant at a change of 20oc The change in temperature is held constant at +20oC. This will be
controlled to the best ability (see step 8, method). This is predominantly controlled to allow for
consistency within the energy gained by the 100cm3 of water, and to maintain a consistent error in
temperature change.
Controlled variable 2 The equipment used The equipment used throughout the experiment will be the
same, as will the setup. This will be further controlled by performing every trial within the same
approximately 75 minute period, thus eliminating the need to re setup the apparatus. This control
ensures that

Juvenile Crime Is The Number One Priority
INTRODUCTION Juvenile Crime has been increasing as society progress. Finding possible solutions
to help at risk youth is the number one priority. In society today, federal laws preventing violence
crimes are becoming more detailed and protected. However, it does not seem to stop criminals from
committing illegal acts, especially for at risk children in the city of Chicago. According to ABCNews,
Chicago s Murder rate is four time higher than New York City (Rosenzweig). Juvenile gang activities
are without a doubt, a reality, and is increasing uncontrollably in the city of Chicago, IL. Even though
there is no universal definition for gang , the National Institute of Justice, defined it as an association
with three or more non adult individuals who identify themselves as group that projects intimidation,
with a purpose of engaging in activities deem as a criminal act by society (NIJ). In order to prevent at
risk children from committing juvenile act, gang prevention programs must be supported throughout
the nation, especially in Chicago at the federal level. The following report will analyzed current
programs in United States, then determined whether the programs are contributing to society, and
providing additional alternative. DESCRIPTION The idea of gang originate in Europe and then
transfer to America. Although the method and time of when it migrate to America remained
unknowned. OJJDP claims that the first record of gang activities were in 1783 after the American

Solving The Mortgage Products Are Available
To understand what mortgage products are available, it is worthwhile to understand what they are
comprised of; the repayment type and the interest rate. There are also taxes, lender fees and other
costs. Firstly, mortgages vary by how you repay the capital, or money borrowed. There are three types
of repayment plan: repayment, interest only, or a hybrid of the two. In addition to the repayment, there
is interest that the lender charges you to borrow capital. It comes in three types: fixed rate, tracker rate
and variable rate.
Repayment mortgages, also known as capital and interest mortgages, are similar to other loans. The
entire mortgage will decrease over the term of the loan, usually twenty five to thirty years. You will
have paid off the entire loan when the term ends if you keep up with monthly repayments. You pay
monthly, initially reducing mostly the interest on the capital. Then, you pay more towards reducing the
capital borrowed. A repayment mortgage can also help get better rates if you decide to take on another
mortgage. You will be able to show that you own an increasing equity as you pay off of your home, an
appealing quality to lenders.
Looking closer at monthly repayments, you are more likely to get a better deal if you pay a larger
down payment, or deposit. It is suggested that you put down ten percent of the property s value. Your
monthly repayments will be lower than that of a mortgage with a five percent deposit. Financial

Does Reflexology Help You Drop Off At Night

There are plenty of different ways that you can use lavender. You can buy a lotion and massage it into

or on your pillow. You may also try lavender tea, which should also promote relaxation and go to sleep

The Most Common Problems in Project Management as...
Chapter 1
Introduction
Project Management is not something new in today s world as it has been practiced since the early
civilization by early architects and engineers such as Vitruvius, a Roman writer, architect and
engineer, Christopher Wren, Thomas Telford and Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Though it has been used
before, organizations started to apply systematically the project management tools and techniques to
complex project in the 1950s.
No matter what the size of the organization is, there is always a need to have project management that
is involved in new endeavors such as the development of a new product or service; establishment of a
new production line; a public relations promotional campaign or even a major building program. ...

All these fields deal with various problems that vary in severity according to different managers and
according the situations that they are dealing with.
In the book of Lawson (2009) he gave a detailed information about the steps to take for a successful
project management. He has four major steps in his book such as: 1. Evaluation of options for change
2. Putting together an effective project team 3. Planning a logical course of work 4. Keeping projects
on time and to budget
According to Clear (2011) in his article entitled 7 Common Project Management Problems (and How
to Solve them) undesirable outcome in a project management can be avoided by designers and
developers by getting familiar with these 7 project management problems. 1. Vague and ever changing
client requirements. The client s requirement can be a big problem and therefore, it is very important
to provide a clear path laid out from start to finish so client can have specificity in his/her
requirements and keeping the project on track as well. 2. Slow client s communication. Slow
communication has been another big reason why projects are being delayed. With this situation,
project managers should have the initiative to do a little bit of work ahead of time. Instead of waiting
for the response of the client, start doing the work which is according to the direction that you think is

The Boeing 747 s Impact On Contemporary Globalization
The Boeing 747 s Impact on Contemporary Globalization
This paper addresses the international impacts of Boeing s 747 commercial airliner on modern
globalization. The 747 is one of the most revolutionary and famous airliners today, it could fit as much
as 570 passengers and could carry as much as 154 tons of cargo. This massive airliner is a symbol of
the progress in civil aviation and signifies a new era in travel. This paper discusses who made this
aircraft, the trade and financial influence of creating this aircraft and how this aircraft reflects the
global division of labor.
To begin with, Webster s dictionary defines globalization as the development of an increasingly
integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of
cheaper foreign labor markets. although most people would agree that this is a good definition. Stager
defines the term globalization as a set of social processes that are thought to transform our present
social condition into one of globality. (stager, p.8) Stager says that we use the term globality to signify
a social condition characterized by the existence of global economic, political, cultural, and
environmental interconnections and flows that make many of the currently existing borders and
boundaries irrelevant. (stager, p.7) The 747 s impact on globality has interlocked nations and their
people economically, and socially. The introduction of the 747 further allowed peoples of nations to

A Group Of Advisory Councillors From Google
SUMMARY
A group of advisory councillors from Google wrote a report on The Right to Be Forgotten policy in
2015. This policy was created in an effort to offer a balance between freedom of expression and the
press. The Right to be Forgotten offers citizens the ability to request for their information to be
removed from the results of a Google search. The removal of these search results, or links, upon the
request of an individual is referred to as delisting (Floridi et al., 2015). Delisting allows web users to
maintain and protect their privacy by limiting the public s access to information about them.
It is important to note, however, that while citizens may apply to be delisted, Google does not have to
comply with this request. Google ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, citizens should have the right to access information that is germane to the public.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE POLICY
The policy first outlines the nature of the rights at issue in the ruling. Google must decide whether the
general public should have the right to easily access an individual s information via the search engine.
Google must also consider if the individual requesting to delist experiences harm from [public]
accessibility to the information (Floridi et al., 2015, p. 6).
Next, the policy addresses the way in which Google must assess each delisting request according to
four key pieces of criteria: the data subject s role in public life, the nature of the information, the
source, and time (Floridi et al., 2015). When evaluating the data subject s role in public life, Google
considers three different types of citizens: individuals with a public personality (e.g. politicians),
individuals with no public personality (i.e. average citizens), and those with a defined role in public
life (e.g. school directors). Ultimately, the more involved a citizen is in the public sphere, the less
likely they are to be delisted.
Google also considers the nature of the information. Financial records, private contact information,
and false information, are all deemed worthy of privacy according to Google. If, however, the
information biases toward a public interest (e.g. information related to criminal offences),

The Eyes Were Watching God Character Analysis
Model Amber Valletta wrote, We are what we see. We are products of our surroundings. A major
element of someone s personality is due to their environment or past events of their lives. Janie
Crawford is certainly not an exception. This is the story of Janie s Pursuit for love where she, a
widowed woman, unfolds her story to her friend Pheoby at dinner. She talks about her childhood with
Nanny and The Washburns, her relationships with Logan Killicks and Joe Starks or Jody, her
experiences with them along with events that took place while being with them or in relation to them,
how they affected her mentality, and how she grows up and matures throughout her life to the self
reliant woman telling the story. In The Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston, the struggles
in Janie s problematic relationships with Logan and Joe impacted her, which gave her more and more
experiences to gradually building up to the independent woman she is in the beginning of the story.
The beginning phase of Janie s development was her marriage to Logan, where she thought that the
marriage which Nanny forced upon her might end up fulfilling her aspiration for love. Logan was very
nice to Janie at the beginning, but later, as time went by, he wasn t as nice to her anymore. One
morning Logan called for Janie for her to come out and help him with his work in the fields. Janie!

The Reflection Of Being A Group Of My Friends
On Friday October 20, I decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to observe a group of my
friends. I chose this group because I have known them for a number of years now, and I have never
allowed myself the opportunity to truly observe them, and I felt this would be a perfectly fascinating
opportunity to examine them from a pure sociological perspective. I have enjoyed their company, and
who they all are, but I thought it would be interesting to see how our group functions and tends to
interact with one another. Each and every one of these particular members of my friend group are
rather intriguing. They are all very intelligent people with a decent sense of humor, and complex
personalities all around. I expected to discover some interesting things about my friends, as I have
observed them before, but never like this. I was hopeful, that I might discover some further insight
that might explain how our groups tends to function. I felt encouraged to analyze certain aspects of
their individual personalities, and to see how they interact with one another to form our group
dynamic, utilizing the dramaturgical perspective. In addition, I specifically concentrated my efforts on
looking at four elements of theater which are: costumes, actors, audience, and script. In order to best
lay a foundation for the scene that I observed, I will describe what it was specifically that I observed
on this particular occasion. I arrived at my friend Aisha s house on Friday evening, as we planned on
having a little get together with two of our mutual friends Kayla, and Brittany. All three of them were
already there by the time I got there, as I had work that evening. When I stepped inside, they were all

the day. All three of them were dressed pretty casually, as Brittany and Kayla both had on sweaters

successful one because he has a family, two daughters, two cats, two parakeets, a wife and a good job
You have everything in the world you want; you ve told me about your home, and your family, and
your own little zoo. You have everything, and now you want this bench. (The Zoo Story page 18) This
may be the main reason Jerry saw him as an animal from the zoo, caged and unable to be free.
Because of this, we can understand that a caged animal is a man that has everything except the fact
that he does not follow his dreams (Peter wanted a son and a dog but instead he has two daughters and
two cats), a man who lives in ignorance of what happens outside his comfort zone. Peter s condition as
a caged animal changes in the end of the play when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Peter has opened his eyes, he has seen that the world has more to show and that the has lived he s life
like in a zoo and that all people tend to live like animals unaware of their true condition and of the
intensity of their lives. Although it ends with a death, the play has an important message from all the
readers: instead of living in our comfort zone, we should free ourselves from the control that people
have on us, we should explore ourselves. We need to find our own identity in this big and modern

  • 2. Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo Themes Alfred Hitchcock might be history s most respected director among both the critics and the public. I think He made Vertigo to celebrate the entertainment we love about the movies, yet ones that, upon closer inspection, reveal a deeper understanding of how techniques work wonders on the subconscious. Vertigo might be one of his greatest movies of all time and should credit more often about this masterpiece. When I watched Vertigo, I believe it has three themes throughout the whole entire film. The themes I recognized throughout the movie are love, guilt, and illusion. There can be a lot of debate on whether I am right or wrong about the themes but let me explain more in my essay. Alfred Hitchcock shows love throughout the film but isn t pretty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Madeleine, the object of his obsession, is a fantasy, or the ghost of Elster s wife. When Madeleine is really Judy, she falls in love with Scottie but she loves a man who thinks he s in love with someone else. She has to become that someone else to get his love but how is that for a healthy relationship? Scottie can t ever love Judy for who she is; he has to turn her into Madeleine to feel anything at all but I don t think we can ever call that love. Also, Hitchcock manifests love in the acting by showing it in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie. He shows much Madeline cares about Scottie and vice versa. The next theme I discovered in Vertigo was guilt. When Scottie sees his fellow policeman fall to his death, he s disabled not only from acrophobia, but also by a crushing sense of guilt. Even if he doesn t say so explicitly, we sense that Hitchcock is zooming the camera on Scottie because he believes that he caused the officer s death and the officer was trying to save Scottie s life. Also, I think getting involved with saving Madeleine may have been a way to get rid of some of that guilt. When he thinks his fear of heights also killed Madeleine, he loses his ... • 3. Unholy Confessions Mood I started off my day by waking up to my boyfriend s phone alarm. The song is called Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold. It is in the genre of heavy metal and he picked that song to help wake him up since he s a heavy sleeper. The tempo of the music was fast and the dynamics of this song was forte. The main contributor to the dynamics is the vocalist who just screams the majority of the song. The combination of loud and fast music created an upbeat mood which makes us feel like jumping out of bed every morning. For the meter, there were four beats in a measure, and I found it by listening for the downbeat which was the combination of the bass, the bass drum, and loud electric guitar on the first beat of every measure. I don t particularly like this genre of music and listening to it makes me feel very uncomfortable because to me it s very chaotic and not it s not peaceful enough. In my musical theatre class, we are studying the musical Show Boat (1927). During class, we watched a YouTube video on the performance of the song called Ol Man River. The texture of this song is thick as it is edited to have many different instrumental parts adding to make the song come together as one. They used target costing in the design and production of one of its products, the M Class, which is a new sports utility vehicle model, in response to their first time suffering loss in 1993 because of cost inefficiency and problems with material purchasing and adapting to market changes. MB started developing a range of new products such as the C Class in 1993, the E Class in 1995, the new sportster SLK in 1996, and the A Class and M Class All Activity Vehicle (AAV). Therefore, MB should work its best to derive a comprehensive category list prior to index development. Finally obtain the target cost through the Target Costing equation. Importance Index (table 4) shows the degree of importance towards customers of each component which may be considered when purchase of a new MB product while Target Cost Index (table 5) is a measure for the deviation of importance (which the component should be given) and component cost. ABC is an ideal instrument to meet this requirement. Therefore, Tartget Costing was used in the AAV production project. However, there are some problems existing in the development of those indexes as well as the way MB was interpreting them. Meanwhile, MB could use achievement ratio and cost reports to monitor the performance of Kaizen Costing. MB then compared the target cost with drifting cost to find out the cost reduction targets for each function group. In order to achieve this, MB should seek to develop certain organizational arrangements (through policies or culture) to foster a spirit of continuous improvement. Finally, i would like to recommend MB to always maintain a good relationship and cooperation with all those suppliers since MB become rely on them to achieve target costing. Africans were taken from their homes in West Africa and brought to America to work on plantations. However, slavery was not something new as it existed in Africa before Europeans partook in it, but slavery in Africa was very different from slavery in America. During their voyage through the Middle Passage many slaves perished. Those who survived were sold and subjected to the harsh life on the plantations. When this happened, their authentic cultures were drastically changed from the way of life in their native homelands in Africa to life in the plantation society of the American colonies. In Mid Term Break , Seamus Heaney experiences the loss of his younger brother (he is four years old: a four foot coffin, a foot for every year ). He is reminded that he is the eldest, and as such is now treated more as a man than a child. The effect of the death has a large effect on the family: In the porch I met my father crying this is ironic, as his father had always taken funerals in his stride . The use of language adds to the effect of the poem: wearing a poppy bruise on his left temple . Heaney uses the metaphor of a poppy marking the bruise on his head because poppies are used to commemorate and respect those who have lost their lives in conflict, and generally signify death and remembrance. Heaney starts off using simple language, and the phrase: at ten o clock the ambulance arrived with the corpse, stanched and bandaged by nurses suggests a detachment of Heaney, from the events, and helplessness as all that he can do is watch. Simple language such as: corpse suggests an inability for Heaney to express his feelings, and is also the first confirmation that we have of a death. The sentences and language used by Heaney soon change from simple structures to that of a complex structure, representing the discovery of his feelings towards the tragedy: Snowdrops and candles soothed the bedside; I saw him the first time in six weeks this is an example of a complex sentence used by Heaney and also shows how he is addressing his feelings. Master craftsmen during the Medieval Ages created items needed for the kingdom to thrive. Craftsmen included candle makers, shoemakers, and farmers, but the most famous craftsmen were blacksmiths, carpenters, and masons. Every type of craftsmen were in groups called guilds and every guild needed to cooperate. If one guild failed to meet its needs, then the whole medieval structure will fail, causing the kingdom to fall. Carpenters, masons, and blacksmiths were important craftsmen in building castles and villages and you had to go through apprenticeship for many years before becoming one of the three master craftsmen. Before becoming a master craftsman, the child started their training at the age of eleven or twelve and became an apprentice. A child would be able to choose his own profession or follow the family business. Some craftsmen that a child can become include: carpenters, masons, and blacksmiths The apprentice would last from five to nine years depending on the trade. He received no wages and could not marry until he was a journeyman. After finishing apprenticeship, the apprentice became a journeyman. Some examples of these conflicts are with Medea and Jason, Medea and herself, and Medea and Creon. Medea is shown to be a strong, independent woman who does what she wants as well as doesn t let anything stand in her way. She shares qualities of a traditional male at the time, and the qualities of a traditional female. Euripides makes this clear in the play by creating conflicts to prove women can be a powerful character and that the play in general challenges the idea of misogyny. Medea s conflict with Jason proves to be the main conflict in the play, which really sheds light into the fact that Euripides created this play to challenge the notion of feminism. After Jason s betrayal, Medea decides to take control. It is evident in the way she manipulates other characters within the play, and how she handles situations she is in, that she is quite intelligent. Her motivation and will to accomplish her own goals, portrays Medea as the complete opposite of a typical patriarchal woman who embodies the norms of patriarchy in Greek society. In the play, Jason says, I married you, chose hatred and murder for my wife no woman, but a tiger... (1. 1343 44) This quote shows the misogyny with Jason, because he is saying that him and the society have made Medea this way. But maybe Medea started acting McBane 3 this way because of how Jason lacked respect for her and drove her to do the horrendous actions. Medea lashing out on Jason further proves the fact that she is her own woman, and becomes the first symbol of feminism in the Greek culture. Another example of Medea s ... • 13. Hitler And The Nazi Party Nazism in America Probably one of the most infamous political groups in history were the Nazis, a party created and lead by Hitler, an equally awful man. The Nazi party was based in Germany, and many Germans had fallen prey to their deception through their immoral methods, but it was a true surprise when Americans started to become ensnared by their deceit as well. After WWI, Germany was in ruins; so many Germans immigrated to the US. Some of these immigrants fit in quite well into American society and carried on to be loyal citizens. However some were very hostile to assimilate into society, those who were humiliated and scared by Germany s economy and of the backlash of the war, yet still stuck to their pride to an extreme. People like this created Nazi sympathizing parties in the US, such as the American Bund. The American Bund, lead by Fritz Kuhn a chemical engineer from Munich dubbed the American fuehrer by the press, originally called the Friends of New Germany (reorganized in 1936 due to friction between Germany and the US), tried to cultivate Nazi culture in America after Hitler came to power in Germany in January of 1933 due to their devotion to him and his ideology. This perspective was founded by Watson, who wanted to revolutionize the study of human psychology in order to put it on firm experimental footing. (http://www.iep.utm.edu/behavior/) Behaviorism shows the chemical responses in our brain are triggered by the external part of our bodies. For example, behaviorism explains why we feel pleasure when we gamble, drink, smoke. Our body releases endorphins which allows us to feel pleasure from doing these things. The first time you feel the rush of gambling is what makes you want to keep gambling, even if it is not in your best interest. One of the pioneers of the behaviorism perspective was John B. Watson. He was born to a poor family in Greenville, South Carolina. When Watson was 13, his father left due to a drinking problem and his countless affairs. Watson went to the University of Chicago, which sparked his interest in behavior. He saw psychology as the study of people s actions with the ability to predict and control those actions. The selection of Electors would meet and vote for the president and vice president, they would also count the electoral votes by Congress. There are 538 electors, but a majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect a vice president or a vice president. The amount of electors equals the amount of members of the House of Representative that states have plus two more for the Senator. Each candidate running for president has a group of electors in each state. The candidates electors are chosen by the candidates political party but, different laws in different states change how the electors are selected. When voting for a President we are actually voting for our state candidates election. After the presidential election, the governor of their state writes a Certificate of Ascertainment which list the candidates for that state as well as their electors. The Certificate of Ascertainment also shows which electors will represent the state at the election meeting as well as the winning presidential candidate. The meeting of the electors is held on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after the presidential election. • 18. Allegory Of The Republic By Plato s The Republic Allegory of the Cave is a dialog between Socrates and Gloucon in The Republic written by Plato. The image of the cave is a universal picture of the human conditions and a complex metaphor that applies to everyone in society. It questions the mentality and the biased point of view created by the society and human nature (which relates to stereotyping, something I will explain further into the essay). The idea delivered through the dialogue thousands of years ago is so general that examples could still be found in today s society. He is then left pondering about what is an actual truth and what is not, and this is terribly mind blowing. This is why I think the phrase ignorance is bliss, explains the allegory. Because at the end of the day, the prisoners who never left do not have to deal with the troubles of wondering about things beyond their created world, while the prisoner that left and came back must consider both truths brought upon him and make a decision of what to believe and have the responsibility of creating his own opinion. This responsibility cannot be taken lightly and can be troubling, while the prisoners who never left do not have this weight on their shoulders. • 20. Types And Categories Of Requirements 2) Describe the Types and Categories of Requirements. Discuss the Requirements Artifacts that are offered in the Unified Process. Requirements are categorized as functional and non functional. Functional (behavioral) requirements identifies/recognize the actions that are required to complete the user goals. For example, for a receptionist to create an appointment for the patient, he/she must take numbers of steps, such as logging into the system by providing appropriate ID/password, find patient in the system, select date/time/doctor for appointment, saves the appointment etc. One of the best ways of documenting functional requirements are use case. Functional requirements are what the user expects from the system/software. For example if the system is to schedule an appointment for patient, then that system should be able to create a new appointment, edit/modify the existing appointment, cancel/delete an existing appointment, etc. Basically, functional requirements defines what a system is meant to do and on the other hand, non functional requirements defines how a system is supposed to be. Non functional requirements are not related to the functionality of the product/system. It defines the qualities around the system (FURPS+ model) and not the specific behavior of a given system. In the Unified Process, requirements are categorized as FURPS+ model which means functional, usability, reliability, performance and supportability. + in FURPS+ are sub factors such as ... Solving The Mortgage Products Are Available To understand what mortgage products are available, it is worthwhile to understand what they are comprised of; the repayment type and the interest rate. There are also taxes, lender fees and other costs. Firstly, mortgages vary by how you repay the capital, or money borrowed. There are three types of repayment plan: repayment, interest only, or a hybrid of the two. In addition to the repayment, there is interest that the lender charges you to borrow capital. It comes in three types: fixed rate, tracker rate and variable rate. Repayment mortgages, also known as capital and interest mortgages, are similar to other loans. The entire mortgage will decrease over the term of the loan, usually twenty five to thirty years. You will have paid off the entire loan when the term ends if you keep up with monthly repayments. You pay monthly, initially reducing mostly the interest on the capital. Then, you pay more towards reducing the capital borrowed. A repayment mortgage can also help get better rates if you decide to take on another mortgage. You will be able to show that you own an increasing equity as you pay off of your home, an appealing quality to lenders. Looking closer at monthly repayments, you are more likely to get a better deal if you pay a larger down payment, or deposit. It is suggested that you put down ten percent of the property s value. Your monthly repayments will be lower than that of a mortgage with a five percent deposit. Financial products analysts Moneyfacts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Right to be Forgotten offers citizens the ability to request for their information to be removed from the results of a Google search. The removal of these search results, or links, upon the request of an individual is referred to as delisting (Floridi et al., 2015). A major element of someone s personality is due to their environment or past events of their lives. Janie Crawford is certainly not an exception. This is the story of Janie s Pursuit for love where she, a widowed woman, unfolds her story to her friend Pheoby at dinner. She talks about her childhood with Nanny and The Washburns, her relationships with Logan Killicks and Joe Starks or Jody, her experiences with them along with events that took place while being with them or in relation to them, how they affected her mentality, and how she grows up and matures throughout her life to the self reliant woman telling the story. In The Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston, the struggles in Janie s problematic relationships with Logan and Joe impacted her, which gave her more and more experiences to gradually building up to the independent woman she is in the beginning of the story. • 35. The Reflection Of Being A Group Of My Friends On Friday October 20, I decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to observe a group of my friends. I chose this group because I have known them for a number of years now, and I have never allowed myself the opportunity to truly observe them, and I felt this would be a perfectly fascinating opportunity to examine them from a pure sociological perspective. I have enjoyed their company, and who they all are, but I thought it would be interesting to see how our group functions and tends to interact with one another. Each and every one of these particular members of my friend group are rather intriguing. They are all very intelligent people with a decent sense of humor, and complex personalities all around. I expected to discover some interesting things about my friends, as I have observed them before, but never like this. I was hopeful, that I might discover some further insight that might explain how our groups tends to function. I felt encouraged to analyze certain aspects of their individual personalities, and to see how they interact with one another to form our group dynamic, utilizing the dramaturgical perspective. In addition, I specifically concentrated my efforts on looking at four elements of theater which are: costumes, actors, audience, and script. In order to best lay a foundation for the scene that I observed, I will describe what it was specifically that I observed on this particular occasion. I arrived at my friend Aisha s house on Friday evening, as we planned on having a little get together with two of our mutual friends Kayla, and Brittany. All three of them were already there by the time I got there, as I had work that evening. When I stepped inside, they were all standing around Aisha s counter giggling, and talking about a new guy that Brittany had met earlier in the day. All three of them were dressed pretty casually, as Brittany and Kayla both had on sweaters and jeans. Aisha was dressed a little more formally, as she was wearing her work clothes still, which included a skirt, white blouse, and heels. Aisha stood tall above the rest of us, and is the oldest being 23 years old. Brittany and Kayla are both 21. In terms of their racial backgrounds, Aisha is from Puerto Rico, Brittany ... The bicyclic lactone to be generated was cis 1,3,3a,4,5,7a Hexahydro 5 methyl 3 oxo 4 isobenzofuran carboxylic Acid and was produced using a Diels Alder reaction. The product was also analyzed quantitatively using percent yield. To prepare the Diels Alder adduct 0.40 g of 2,4 hexadien 1 ol was added to a flask, then 5.00 mL of toluene and 0.40 g of maleic anhydride were added to the flask in that order. The mixture was warmed and stirred to induce a reaction. The reaction progress was monitored using a TLC plate with 30:70 hexane used as the mobile phase and silica gel as the stationary phase. The TLC plate revealed a new spot for the crude product, indicating the reaction had begun. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After 10 minutes the reaction liquid was separated from the solid using a vacuum filtration system and toluene. The product was stored and dried until week 2 of the experiment. The product was weighed to be 0.31 g. Percent yield was calculated to be 38.75%. IR spectra data was conducted for the two starting materials and of the product. Melting point determination was performed on the product and proton NMR spectrum was given. The IR spectrum revealed peaks at 1720 cm 1, which indicated the presence of a lactone group, and 1730 cm 1, representing a functional group of a carboxylic acid (C=O), and 3300cm 1, indicating the presence of an alcohol group (O H). All three peaks correspond with the desired product. A second TLC using the same mobile and stationary phase as the first was performed and revealed Rf Values of 0.17 and 0.43for the product. • 38. Theme Of The Zoo Story By Edward Albee This paper is concerned on the main theme of the play The Zoo story by Edward Albee. In this play we can observe how people are seen as an animal and how this affects their way of living and also how their life is compared to a zoo. The entire play beginning with the title is a metaphor for a caged animal . The play was written in 1958 and in the beginning it was named Peter and Jerry. The title can be seen as a metaphor for Peter s life. Since he met Jerry he was seen as a caged animal because he did not act by instinct and during their conversation tried to be a gentleman with Jerry. Peter s life is a successful one because he has a family, two daughters, two cats, two parakeets, a wife and a good job You have everything in the world you want; you ve told me about your home, and your family, and your own little zoo. You have everything, and now you want this bench. (The Zoo Story page 18) This may be the main reason Jerry saw him as an animal from the zoo, caged and unable to be free. Because of this, we can understand that a caged animal is a man that has everything except the fact that he does not follow his dreams (Peter wanted a son and a dog but instead he has two daughters and two cats), a man who lives in ignorance of what happens outside his comfort zone. Peter s condition as a caged animal changes in the end of the play when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
