A new algorithm is proposed for the segmentation of the lumen and bifurcation boundaries of the carotid artery in B-mode ultrasound images. It uses the hipoechogenic characteristics of the lumen for the identification of the carotid boundaries and the echogenic characteristics for the identification of the bifurcation boundaries. The image to be segmented is processed with the application of an anisotropic diffusion filter for speckle removal and morphologic operators are employed in the detection of the artery. The obtained information is then used in the definition of two initial contours, one corresponding to the lumen and the other to the bifurcation boundaries, for the posterior application of the Chan-vese level set segmentation model. A set of longitudinal B-mode images of the common carotid artery (CCA) was acquired with a GE Healthcare Vivid-e ultrasound system (GE Healthcare, United Kingdom). All the acquired images include a part of the CCA and of the bifurcation that separates the CCA into the internal and external carotid arteries. In order to achieve the uppermost robustness in the imaging acquisition process, i.e., images with high contrast and low speckle noise, the scanner was adjusted differently for each acquisition and according to the medical exam. The obtained results prove that we were able to successfully apply a carotid segmentation technique based on cervical ultrasonography. The main advantage of the new segmentation method relies on the automatic identification of the carotid lumen, overcoming the limitations of the traditional methods.

Segmentation of cysts in kidney and 3 d volume calculation from ct images ijcga
This paper proposes a segmentation method and a three-dimensional (3-D) volume calculation method of
cysts in kidney from a number of computer tomography (CT) slice images. The input CT slice images
contain both sides of kidneys. There are two segmentation steps used in the proposed method: kidney
segmentation and cyst segmentation. For kidney segmentation, kidney regions are segmented from CT slice
images by using a graph-cut method that is applied to the middle slice of input CT slice images. Then, the
same method is used for the remaining CT slice images. In cyst segmentation, cyst regions are segmented
from the kidney regions by using fuzzy C-means clustering and level-set methods that can reduce noise of
non-cyst regions. For 3-D volume calculation, cyst volume calculation and 3-D volume visualization are
used. In cyst volume calculation, the area of cyst in each CT slice image equals to the number of pixels in
the cyst regions multiplied by spatial density of CT slice images, and then the volume of cysts is calculated
by multiplying the cyst area and thickness (interval) of CT slice images. In 3-D volume visualization, a 3-D
visualization technique is used to show the distribution of cysts in kidneys by using the result of cyst volume
calculation. The total 3-D volume is the sum of the calculated cyst volume in each CT slice image.
Experimental results show a good performance of 3-D volume calculation. The proposed cyst segmentation
and 3-D volume calculation methods can provide practical supports to surgery options and medical

Detection of Prostate Cancer Using Radial/Axial Scanning of 2D Trans-rectal U...journalBEEI
The search for improvement in the result of segmentation of regions of interest in medical images has continued to be a source of challenge to researchers. Several research efforts have gone in to delineate regions of interest in the prostate gland from Trans-rectal ultrasound (TRUS) 2D-images. In this work, we develop a fast algorithm based on radial/axial scanning of the pixels of the prostate gland image with the goal of detecting hyper-echoic pixels that are bound within the boundaries of the gland TRUS 2D-images. The algorithm implements expert knowledge and utilizes the features extracted from the intensity of the TRUS images, primarily the relative intensity and gradient to delineate region of interest. It employs radial/axial scanning of the image from common seed point automatically selected to detect the region of the gland and subsequently hyper-echoic pixels which indicate suspected cancerous tissue cites. Evaluation of the algorithm performance was done by comparing detection result with that of expert radiologists. The detection algorithm gave an average accuracy of 88.55% and sensitivity of 71.65%.

Hybrid Speckle Noise Reduction Method for Abdominal Circumference Segmentatio...IJECEIAES
Fetal biometric size such as abdominal circumference (AC) is used to predict fetal weight or gestational age in ultrasound images. The automatic biometric measurement can improve efficiency in the ultrasonography examination workflow. The unclear boundaries of the abdomen image and the speckle noise presence are the challenges for the automated AC measurement techniques. The main problem to improve the accuracy of the automatic AC segmentation is how to remove noise while retaining the boundary features of objects. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid ultrasound image denoising framework which was a combination of spatial-based filtering method and multiresolution based method. In this technique, an ultrasound image was decomposed into subbands using wavelet transform. A thresholding technique and the anisotropic diffusion method were applied to the detail subbands, at the same time the bilateral filtering modified the approximation subband. The proposed denoising approach had the best performance in the edge preservation level and could improve the accuracy of the abdominal circumference segmentation.
Comparison of Three Segmentation Methods for Breast Ultrasound Images Based o...IJECEIAES
Breast cancer is one of the major causes of death among women all over the world. The most frequently used diagnosis tool to detect breast cancer is ultrasound. However, to segment the breast ultrasound images is a difficult thing. Some studies show that the active contour models have been proved to be the most successful methods for medical image segmentation. The level set method is a class of curve evolution methods based on the geometric active contour model. Morphological operation describes a range of image processing technique that deal with the shape of features in an image. Morphological operations are applied to remove imperfections that introduced during segmentation. In this paper, we have evaluated three level set methods that combined with morphological operations to segment the breast lesions. The level set methods that used in our research are the Chan Vese (CV) model, the Selective Binary and Gaussian Filtering Regularized Level Set (SBGFRLS) model and the Distance Regularized Level Set Evolution (DRLSE) model. Furthermore, to evaluate the method, we compared the segmented breast lesion that obtained by each method with the lesion that obtained manually by radiologists. The evaluation is done by four metrics: Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC), True-Positive Ratio (TPR), TrueNegative Ratio (TNR), and Accuracy (ACC). Our experimental results with 30 breast ultrasound images showed that the C-V model that combined with morphological operations have better performance than the other two methods according to mean value of DSC metrics.

India is one of the countries which has the electronic voting machine for parliamentary and assembly polls. But in every poll election commission is facing so much of troubles and various types of issues through the election. The most familiar issue which is faced by the election commission is, no proper acknowledgement regarding the confirmation of casting the votes, duplication or illegal casting of votes. In this project all these issues has been handled and overcome with the perfect solution. The main advantage of this project is handling of data by using biometric system such as finger print and face recognition (is done by masking technique). This is used to ensure the security to avoid fake and repeating voting. It also enhances the accuracy and speed of the process. The system performs with perfect recognition on a face and thumb impression of all the eligible voters in a constituency, which is done as pre-polled procedure. During election, thumb impression and face templates of voters is given as an input to the system. This is then compared with the already stored database and available records. If the particular pattern matches with the record then the voters are allowed to vote but incase if it doesn’t match or in case of repetition, voters vote are denied or gets rejected. The result is instant and counting is done.

This project introduces a high gain single stage boosting inverter with trap cl filter for alternative energy generation. As compared to two stage and multi stage approach, single stage boosting inverter has a simpler topology and lower component count. Trap cl filter is used to eliminate the harmonics and it can reduce the size and weight. Single stage boosting inverter can realize high DC input voltage boosting, good inversion power decoupling, good quality of Alternating current output waveform and good efficiency.
This project is about the development of a novel electronic speaking system for dumb and paralyzed persons. Due to their physical disability, an attender is always required to monitor and help their day to day activities. However, most of the time, attender is idle and the attender time is wasted. Hence, an electronic system is proposed in this project to help the dumb and paralyzed persons to communicate their need to the attender. The attender may be entrusted with other work during the time, when dumb and paralyzed persons do not need the support of attenders. This avoids the attenders continuously monitoring the dumb and paralyzed persons and the attenders may engage themselves in other works.

Vehicle accidents are one of the most leading causes of fatality. More accidents are because of improper driving of vehicles by non-licensed persons. One approach to eliminate the authentication of vehicles by non-licensed persons is to use a smart vehicle authentication technique for vehicles. This authentication is done by the fingerprint scanner which is the most secure system for vehicle and the smart license card which has the biometric details in it, the vehicle will start if the details in both the license and the fingerprint matches else it won’t. This will stop the authentication of vehicles by non-licensed persons. Another problem is that the many person are not aware of their vehicle insurance due dates. The most popular existing system to monitor the due dates is by the GSM technique but it has lots of disadvantages. To eliminate those disadvantages the Wi-Fi system is used to send intimations. So that the person can pay the due on date without any penalty.
Object recognition is the challenging problem in the real world application. Object recognition can be achieved through the shape matching. Shape matching is preceded by i) detecting the edges of the objects from the images. ii) Finding the correspondence between the shapes. iii) Measuring the dissimilarity between the shapes using the correspondence. iv) Classifying the object into classes by using this dissimilarity measures. In order to solve the correspondence problem, we attach a descriptor, the shape context, to each point. The shape context at a reference point captures the distribution of the remaining points relative to it, thus offering a globally discriminative characterization. Corresponding points on two similar shapes will have similar shape contexts. The one to one correspondence is achieved through the cost based bipartite graph matching. The cost matrix is reduced through Hungarian algorithm. The dissimilarity between the two shapes is computed using Canberra distance. The nearest neighbor classifier is used to classify the objects with the matching error. The results are obtained using the MATLAB for MINIST hand written digits.
AUTOMATED SEGMENTATION OF FLUORESCENT AND FUNDS IMAGES BASED ON RETINAL BLOOD...acijjournal
ABSTRACT
Measurements of retinal blood vessel morphology have been shown to be related to the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The wrong identification of vessels may result in a large variation of these measurements, leading to a wrong clinical diagnosis. In this paper, we address the problem of automatically identifying true vessels as a post processing step to vascular structure segmentation. We model the segmented vascular structure as a vessel segment graph and formulate the problem of identifying vessels as one of finding the optimal forest in the graph given a set of constraints. We design a method to solve this optimization problem and evaluate it on a large real-world dataset of 2,446 retinal images. Experiment results are analyzed with respect to actual measurements of vessel morphology. The results show that the proposed approach is able to achieve 98.9% pixel precision and 98.7% recall of the true vessels for clean segmented retinal images, and remains robust even when the segmented image is noisy.

Automatic Segmentation of Brachial Artery based on Fuzzy C-Means Pixel Clust...IJECEIAES
Automatic extraction of brachial artery and measuring associated indices such as flow-mediated dilatation and Intima-media thickness are important for early detection of cardiovascular disease and other vascular endothelial malfunctions. In this paper, we propose the basic but important component of such decision-assisting medical software development – noise tolerant fully automatic segmentation of brachial artery from ultrasound images. Pixel clustering with Fuzzy C-Means algorithm in the quantization process is the key component of that segmentation with various image processing algorithms involved. This algorithm could be an alternative choice of segmentation process that can replace speckle noise-suffering edge detection procedures in this application domain.

A Wavelet Based Automatic Segmentation of Brain Tumor in CT Images Using Opti...CSCJournals
This paper presents an automated segmentation of brain tumors in computed tomography images (CT) using combination of Wavelet Statistical Texture features (WST) obtained from 2-level Discrete Wavelet Transformed (DWT) low and high frequency sub bands and Wavelet Co-occurrence Texture features (WCT) obtained from two level Discrete Wavelet Transformed (DWT) high frequency sub bands. In the proposed method, the wavelet based optimal texture features that distinguish between the brain tissue, benign tumor and malignant tumor tissue is found. Comparative studies of texture analysis is performed for the proposed combined wavelet based texture analysis method and Spatial Gray Level Dependence Method (SGLDM). Our proposed system consists of four phases i) Discrete Wavelet Decomposition (ii) Feature extraction (iii) Feature selection (iv) Classification and evaluation. The combined Wavelet Statistical Texture feature set (WST) and Wavelet Co-occurrence Texture feature (WCT) sets are derived from normal and tumor regions. Feature selection is performed by Genetic Algorithm (GA). These optimal features are used to segment the tumor. An Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) classifier is employed to evaluate the performance of these features and by comparing the classification results of the PNN classifier with the Feed Forward Neural Network classifier(FFNN).The results of the Probabilistic Neural Network, FFNN classifiers for the texture analysis methods are evaluated using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated on a series of brain tumor images. The results illustrate that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods.

Clinical imaging is playing a fundamental limit in assessment and patching of affliction and discovering tumors and finding of threatening cells in less than ideal stage. As a standard system for perceiving bone features, is minute pictures were used. These photos are secured by using small radiography, where it expected to reiterated, drawn out and work raised measure. This method cant recognize the destructive cells because of the presence of uproar in the photos. Hence there is a necessity for automated and strong strategies to finish the image planning examination. As a first stage, the most fundamental piece of picture planning is to denoising without barging in on the diagnostics information during the clearing of commotion. The past collaboration disposes of the uproar and present fog in the image. To get precise picture getting ready, we have executed fragile and hard breaking point with various coefficients and to check the edge Visu wither was used. It was found that the Wavelet deionsing gadget was a helpful resource for picture improvement. In the gathering, our proposed work was connected with pre planning methodology to wipe out the noise and to get smooth pictures. This collaboration will help with improving the idea of the image and besides take out the fake areas. To recognize the presence of bone illness and to choose its stage, K infers estimation was used and thusly to get smooth picture, edge division measure was performed. Miss. Implementation of Radon Transformation for Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT)ijistjournal
Radon Transformation is generally used to construct optical image (like CT image) from the projection data in biomedical imaging. In this paper, the concept of Radon Transformation is implemented to reconstruct Electrical Impedance Topographic Image (conductivity or resistivity distribution) of a circular subject. A parallel resistance model of a subject is proposed for Electrical Impedance Topography(EIT) or Magnetic Induction Tomography(MIT). A circular subject with embedded circular objects is segmented into equal width slices from different angles. For each angle, Conductance and Conductivity of each slice is calculated and stored in an array. A back projection method is used to generate a two-dimensional image from one-dimensional projections. As a back projection method, Inverse Radon Transformation is applied on the calculated conductance and conductivity to reconstruct two dimensional images. These images are compared to the target image. In the time of image reconstruction, different filters are used and these images are compared with each other and target image.

Contourlet Transform Based Method For Medical Image DenoisingCSCJournals
Noise is an important factor of the medical image quality, because the high noise of medical imaging will not give us the useful information of the medical diagnosis. Basically, medical diagnosis is based on normal or abnormal information provided diagnose conclusion. In this paper, we proposed a denoising algorithm based on Contourlet transform for medical images. Contourlet transform is an extension of the wavelet transform in two dimensions using the multiscale and directional filter banks. The Contourlet transform has the advantages of multiscale and time-frequency-localization properties of wavelets, but also provides a high degree of directionality. For verifying the denoising performance of the Contourlet transform, two kinds of noise are added into our samples; Gaussian noise and speckle noise. Soft thresholding value for the Contourlet coefficients of noisy image is computed. Finally, the experimental results of proposed algorithm are compared with the results of wavelet transform. We found that the proposed algorithm has achieved acceptable results compared with those achieved by wavelet transform.

A novel CAD system to automatically detect cancerous lung nodules using wav...IJECEIAES
A novel cancerous nodules detection algorithm for computed tomography images (CT-images) is presented in this paper. CT-images are large size images with high resolution. In some cases, number of cancerous lung nodule lesions may missed by the radiologist due to fatigue. A CAD system that is proposed in this paper can help the radiologist in detecting cancerous nodules in CT- images. The proposed algorithm is divided to four stages. In the first stage, an enhancement algorithm is implement to highlight the suspicious regions. Then in the second stage, the region of interest will be detected. The adaptive SVM and wavelet transform techniques are used to reduce the detected false positive regions. This algorithm is evaluated using 60 cases (normal and cancerous cases), and it shows a high sensitivity in detecting the cancerous lung nodules with TP ration 94.5% and with FP ratio 7 cluster/image.

Watering plants during the correct time is very important due to scientific reasons. Both underwatering, as well as overwatering, can lead to the growth of unhealthy plants or in extreme cases, the death of the plant/tree. These issues which are the case with most self-gardeners and plant lovers can be solved using the smart irrigation technique. The main purpose of this innovation is to assist plant lovers to continue their passion to grow plants at home with ease. Smart irrigation system helps in monitoring the moisture level which majorly affects plant growth besides other factors such as sunlight, fertility of the soil, etc. The digital planting pot has been designed in a way that it effectively incorporates the idea of smart irrigation. Arduino Uno R3 has been used as the main chip in this project along with a few other components like a soil moisture sensor, relay, and water pump. This project requires coding to synchronize all the components, and function properly. A required test has been carried out to review the functioning of the mechanism. The project was tested by once using the soil with enough moisture in the pot and then the soil with the least moisture. Both times, it worked exactly how it was supposed to function. When the soil with the least moisture was tested, there was a clear indication of a low level of moisture and accordingly, the water pump got triggered to water the plant, and when the soil with enough moisture was tested, there was again the clear indication of the correct level of moisture and the water pump was inactive. All the readings which were displayed on the LCD were checked back and forth during the project. The outcomes were the same as expected. Hence, it shows that every component in this project is actively functioning and the whole project is effectively designed.

A new convenient and efficient route for the synthesis of two very important hydroxo-bridged stepped-cubane copper complexes viz: [Cu4(bpy)4Cl2(OH)4]Cl2.6H2O (1) and [Cu4(phen)4Cl2(OH)4]Cl2.6H2O (2) have been obtained. This synthetic route from the mononuclear CubpyCl2 complex is easier, more reproducible and afforded the complex in a much higher yield than the other two previously reported procedures which were equally serendipitously discovered. The purity and formation of the complexes were confirmed with elemental (C,H,N) analysis and the details of the UV-Vis, Fourier transform infrared, electrospray ionization mass spectra of both complexes and the single crystal X-ray crystallography of 1 are presented and discussed. X-ray crystallography confirms the absolute structure of the complexes. The complexes were formed via the connection of four copper atoms to four hydroxide bridging ligands and four bipyridyl ligands with two chloride ligands. There are two coordinate environments around two pairs of copper atoms (CuN2ClO2 and CuN2O3) and each copper atom is pentacoordinate with square pyramidal geometry.

Myogenic differentiation requires to be exactly explored for the effective treatment of fracture. The speed of healing is affected by skeletal muscle, linked to activation of specific myogenic transcription factors during the repair process. In previous study, we discovered that psoralen enhanced differentiation of osteoblast in primary mouse. In the current study, we show that psoralen stimulates myogenic differentiation through the secretion of factors to hone the quality of repair in fractured mice. 3-month old mice were treated with corn oil or psoralen followed by a tibial fracture surgery. Fractures were tested 7, 14, and 21 days respectively later by histology and images observation. Skeletal muscles including soleus muscle and posterior tibial muscle around the damaged bone were collected for quantitative real-time PCR, HE staining, as well as western blot. Daily treatment with psoralen at seven, fourteen days or twenty-one days improves protein or mRNA levels responsible for the whole myogenic differentiation process, makes the muscle fibers more tightly aligned, and promotes callus formation and development. This data shows that high levels of myogenic transcription factors in the process of fracture healing in mice foster the repair of damaged muscles, and indicates a pharmacological approach that targets myogenic differentiation to improve fracture repair. This also reflects the academic thought of "paying equal attention to both muscles and bones" in the prevention and treatment of fracture healing.
The current pandemic has generated the search for new reliable and economic alternatives for the detection of SARS-CoV-2, which produces the COVID-19 disease, one of the recommendations by the World Health Organization, is the detection of the virus by RT-qPCR methods from upper respiratory tract samples. The discomfort of the pharyngeal nasopharyngeal swab described by patients, the requirement of trained personnel, and the generation of aerosols, are factors that increase the risk of infections in this type of intake. It is known that the main means of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is through aerosols or small droplets, which is why saliva is important as a relevant means of detecting COVID-19. In this study, a modified method based on SARS-CoV-2 RNA release from saliva is described, avoiding the isolation and purification of the genetic material and its quantification of viral copies; the results are compared with paired pharyngeal/nasopharyngeal swab samples (EF/EN). Results showed good agreement in saliva samples compared to EF/EN samples. On average, a sensitivity for virus detection of 80% was demonstrated in saliva samples competing with EF/EN samples. The use of saliva is a reliable alternative for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 by means of RT-PCR in the first days of infection, having important advantages over the conventional method. Saliva still needs to be studied completely to evaluate the detection capacity of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid, however, the described process is viable, due to the decrease in materials and supplies, process times, the increment in the sampling and improvement of laboratory performance.
A recent study establishes that since 1970, there has been an ecological gap between human needs and the planet's resources, with annual resource demand exceeding the bio-productivity of the planet. Specifically, humanity utilises equivalent of 1.75 earths to produce the ecological resources used, with half of this attributable to food consumption. The present work therefore seeks to provide an empirically-based insight into the environmental sustainability of the EF of food consumption in Ijebu Ode. A descriptive cross-sectional approach was used, and primary data were collected from 400 systemically sampled households via structured questionnaires and analysed descriptively using Microsoft Excel and inferentially using mathematical models for calculating ecological footprints. Findings revealed that the household EF of food consumption in Ijebu Ode is 0.05gha per capita, with the footprint of cereal consumption (0.17gha; 37%) taking the major share, followed by meat with a footprint of 0.11gha (23.9%). As a result, it was concluded that Ijebu Ode has sustainable food consumption, which is necessary for its environmental sustainability. However, the sustenance of the former requires creating awareness of the need for sustainable consumption and prioritisation of integrated and population-wide policies and food intervention initiatives to encourage attitudinal change in favour of sustainable food consumption while fostering sustainable food production strategies amidst current environmental realities.
The symmetry occurs in most of the phenomena explained by physics, for example, a particle has positive or negative charges, and the electric dipoles that have the charge (+q) and (-q) which are at a certain distance (d), north or south magnetic poles and for a magnetic bar or magnetic compass with two poles: North (N) and South (S) poles, spins up or down of the electron at the atom and for the nucleons in the nucleus In this form, the particle should also have mass symmetry. For convenience and due to later explanations, I call this mass symmetry or mass duality as follows: mass and mass cloud. The mass cloud is located in the respective orbitals given by the Schrödinger equation. The orbitals represent the possible locations or places of the particle which are determined probabilistically by the respective Schröndiger equation.
Metal-organic molybdenum complexes were synthesized by the hydrothermal method using ammonium heptamolybdate as the metallic source, and as the organic ligand terephthalic acid (BDC) or bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET), obtained via glycolysis of poly(ethylene)terephthalate (PET). The BDC-Mo and BHET-Mo complexes were characterized by XRD, N2 physisorption, TGA, ATR-FTIR, SEM, XPS and their in vitro biocompatibility was tested by porcine fibroblasts viability. The results show that molybdates (MoO4-2) are coordinated to the carbonyl functional groups of BDC and BHET by urea bonding (-NH-CO-NH-) which is related to their high biocompatibility and high thermal stability. These organic molybdate complexes possess rectangular prism particles made up of rods arrays characteristics of molybdenum oxides (MoO3). The organic complexes BDC-Mo and BHET-Mo do not show to be cytotoxic for porcine dermal fibroblasts growing on their surface for up to 48 h of culture.

Hybrid rice has the potential to outperform existing inbred rice and was said to have the potential to produce 14-20 % more yield. In response, Malaysia Government has introduced its very own first Hybrid Rice Variety knew as Kadaria 1 developed by MARDI. This is in line with one of the strategies outlined in Dasar Agromakanan Negara (DAN) 2011-2020 as an approach to increasing rice productivity within Malaysia. The next step would be developing our hybrid seed rice production system. Therefore, an experiment to determine the planting ratio and planting distance between 0025A (A)-a hybrid with MR283 (R)-inbreed variety was carried out. Planting ratios studied in this study were 2:4, 2:6, 2:8, and 2:10 while planting distance was 14 x 30 cm, 16 x 30 cm, and 18 x 30 cm. Statistical analyses suggested that yield R, yield A, and panicle number A were significantly affected by planting ratios while yield A was significantly affected by an interaction between planting distance and planting ratios. Panicle number A performed significantly higher at planting ratios of 2:4 compared to 2:10. Yield R shows higher significant performance under ratio 2:6 compared to 2:4 and 2:8. Relatively, yield A performed the best under planting distance of 18 x 30 cm. Furthermore, under this particular planting distance, the planting ratio of 2:10 shows the highest significant figure while 2:8 exhibits statistical parity. Both yield R and yield A were significantly affected by planting ratios and have a significant positive association with each other. Therefore, the planting ratio of 2:10 should be the best since it contributed to significantly highest value for yield A while yield R under 2:10 shows statistical parity with 2:6 which was the highest significant value. In conclusion, the combination of 2:10 with a planting distance of 18 x 30 cm was the best since it shows best potential for both yields A and yield R
Cassava plays an important role in improving food security and reducing poverty in rural areas. Despite its importance, its production in Senegal remains low compared to other African countries. Nowadays, it is confronted with numerous constraints. It is in this context that a study was conducted on the cassava production system in the Thiès "cassava granary" region, with the objective of examining farmers' cultivation practices. It was conducted in eight communes located in the department of Tivaouane, some of which are located in the Niayes agro-ecological zone and others in the central-northern groundnut basin. Surveys were conducted among the largest cassava producers in these communes. Analysis of the results showed that cassava is only grown in the rainy season with the same cultivation practices that have been used for years. Of the five varieties listed by the President of the Senegalese Cassava Interprofession, only four are grown in the areas surveyed. The Terrasse (43%) and Kombo (36%) varieties are grown more by our respondents in the Niayes area. Soya (75%) and Wallet "Parydiey" (20% of our sample) dominate in the central-northern groundnut basin.

We are witnessing very demanding and stressful times in which we live, and an occupation that is particularly exposed to stress and different working conditions is the job of a nurse. Exposing themselves to everyday challenges and stressful situations, nurses reach a stage of great emotional and physical exhaustion, lethargy, dissatisfaction, and poorer work achievements, which we know as burnout. The aim of this paper was to determine whether there is and to what extent professional burnout is present in nurses and technicians working in nursing homes across Slovenia and Croatia. The paper is answering the questions of the extent of the burnout influenced by individual characteristics (age, education, years of service and work experience at the current workplace). The study involved a validated questionnaire “The Oldenburg Burnout Inventory (OLBI)” to measure professional burnout. Surveying of the nurses was conducted online at their home institutions. The results show that all respondents have a medium or high level of professional burnout, while no one has a low level or shows no signs of burnout. In terms of age, the group from 55-65 years of age had the highest relative level of burnout in the age group category. With regard to education, the highest burnout was measured in registered nurses.
Hepatitis B and C are one of the most commonly transmitted viral infections through needlestick injury apart from HIV. It is highly prevalent in India and many other developing countries. It accounts for high mortality rate globally amongst low socio-economic groups of individuals. Healthcare workers, especially dental professionals are at higher risk of infection due to high exposure to saliva, blood and sharps. Accidental occupational exposure to non-sterile conditions and its development to more critical and fatal conditions can be reduced through vaccination, prophylactic medications and practicing high safety measures.
This review article focuses on transmission of hepatitis through sharps injuries in medicine, especially dentistry, its prevention, management, post-exposure prophylaxis and the corresponding content.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
