This section is a little difficult for me because at the moment I do not have the animal that I am going
to be doing AAT C with so I really do not know what I will be able to do in the future as far as
techniques and interventions. What you can do with a dog is not what you can necessarily do with a
rabbit or a cat. However, at the end of the day human animal interaction is the main intervention I will
be using throughout my sessions. As all the readings mentioned, the animal can touch and offer our
clients affection, comfort that we, as humans, must be careful of offering at all. The interventions can
be as simple as the animal being next to my client, to them petting them or my client actively
grooming my animal. I can also be more directive and build time into our sessions where the client
does tricks with the animal, play with them, or we do activities such as going on walks.
When I was reading what Chandler (2017) shared in her book, I liked the idea of the metaphor and
story telling (p.213). As I stated earlier, one of the things I liked about AAT C was that it said to share
the animal s breed, their own personal history, and my history with the animal; so, this just falls into
that perfectly. I am learning about myself as a counselor that metaphors are powerful to me and to be
able to include my animal makes the connection go deeper, which goes back to the social interest. The
other aspect I like about story telling is if you focus it on the animal, and not a person, it helps take the
focus off them. The nonjudgmental piece plays a huge role there because it s the animals story, not

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a late onset neurological disorder characterized by motor
neuron degeneration in brain stem, spinal cord and primary motor cortex. There is no single gene

Shield. Blue Shield s role was to negotiate with doctors and hospitals for reduced prices in exchange
for a high volume of customers and guaranteed payment. To make up for the loss of revenue, doctors

States required more goods made from cotton that required milling and weaving into useable products.

My School Day
The school dismissal bell has just rung and I walk slowly towards the back of the building towards the
athletic wing. As I walk towards the trophy case, I am walking by memory because i am distracted by
my own thoughts floating through my head of all the things I need to do before the day ends. My ends
go back to focus and I find myself with the rest of my cross country team.
Today is Tuesday, and we have a meet. Tuesday is the longest day of my week. After going to school
for seven hours, I have to travel to a park to run five kilometers in a face paced environment. I then
come back nearly dusk, and finally go home where my schoolwork awaits. After being up and going
for have the day I am fine with sitting down for a few hours to complete my assignments. The whole
team is now changed into their uniforms and there is now a line of girls braiding one another s hair.
We wait for the call of our coach to arrive and for the first glimpse of our bus. As we wait many girls
are proactive on one side of the table trying to complete some of their homework while the other end

My project consists of a cake garnished with the red letter A. The A is divided by two contradictory
ideas. The initial fraction of the cake has black frosting and a red A on it. The A has thorns around it,
showing the immoral part of the letter. The opposite half of the cake has white frosting and a red A and
is ornamented with roses instead of barbs. The relationship I am showing by including the two halves
of the A is how the idea of the letter changed throughout the book. At first, the letter, and Hester are
perceived as sinful, evil, and a smear on Puritan culture. But once Hester becomes a giver in her

At the beginning of the book, the rose bush outside the prison symbolizes hope where there is none,
while at the same time its thorns show the pain of the prisoners in the prison. I used the thorns in the
first half to show how Hester is in more sadness at the beginning because she is being criticized so
sternly by everybody around her. I used the roses in the second half though to demonstrate how Hester
gains hope because of her transformed image. In addition, I chose black and white as the frosting
colors of the halves to show how contrasting these two meanings of the letter are. I chose black and
