imports. These imports, smaller in size than the domestic vehicles at the time, offered an
economical and dependable alternative to what American automobiles offered. In order to
remain competitive with these Japanese imports Ford chief executive officer Lee Iacoca
instructed the Ford manufacturing company to come up with a vehicle for the 1971 sales year
to compete with these Japanese imports. The normal time for design and production for a new
vehicle line is 43 months but Iacoca ordered the process to be reduced to 25 months in order to
compete. The timeline was met but a rear end impact study was not conducted until after the car
was already on sales lots. Drawn to the relatively inexpensive price for a vehicle at the time, Lily
Gray purchased a 1972 Ford Pinto. This is where the production flaw of the Pinto was first
revealed. Gray was traveling with 13 year old Richard Grimshaw on the highway when she had
to slow to avoid a broke down vehicle. Also trying to avoid the broke down vehicle a Ford
Galaxy traveling at approximately 50 miles per hour rear ended the Pinto. Almost immediately the
Pinto burst into flames, both passengers had severe burns on their bodies, and later Lily Gray

scores, while simultaneously demonstrating worsened behavior in school, answers are being
sought from many angles. Suggested reasons for the deteriorating behavior include a lack of
boundaries at home, attention seeking, an absence of positive role models at home, low self
esteem and family breakdown. (Townsend, 2013) While there are many contributing factors to
these heart breaking realities, I will present how simply providing regular music lessons can be
pivotal for a child. The diminishing importance our culture is placing on the benefits of music
education is impacting our nation s children by limiting their potential in academic achievement,

Aggression is a complex issue to contextualise, as it can mean both hostile, attacking behaviour and
verbal behaviour with intent to cause harm. However, aggression may also be reactionary in
response to environmental factors. Teenage aggression arises from negative environmental
influences during upbringing. The roles of peers, family and media shape these environmental
influences which include: bullying, physical abuse, domestic violence, and violent video games.
Peer relations play a major part in the social development and social upbringing of children at
school. However, bullying during schooling years is an environmental factor that causes an increase
in teenage aggression, especially after an adverse event. Studies conducted by Roland and IdsГёe
(2001) demonstrate that being victimised by bullying causes increases in teenage aggression,
especially that of reactive aggression. Reactive aggression is regarded as a frustrating or
provoking event occurring to the individual, the individual may then display aggressive behaviour
while they are angry. While this behaviour is generally short lived, an investigation into the effects
of long term bullying by Sharp, Thompson, Arora, (2000) revealed that the most common negative
reactions to long term bullying was irritability which was linked to higher levels of stress and

There are definitely two arguments on whether or not
Oedipus
had fallen to fate or made his own decisions, but if you think about it, the prophecy stated literally
everything that was going to happen, and maybe it would not had happened if Oedipus did not
seek out everything because the prophecy only unfolded when he began to venture out and look
for the problem trying to solve his own problems. Him doing this unraveled something much
worse and is what led him to his banishment, so if you think about it, maybe fate did bring him to

in a compound. Most times these chemicals are not completely pure so they can be recrystallized to
remove the impurities. The technique of recrystallization learned and utilized in this lab works best
to remove contaminates from nonvolatile organic solids.1 A solventis used that dissolves the solid
at room temperature and then the impurities can be removed via pipette or other simplified
removal process. When all impurities are dissolved and removed, a lattice or an ordered
structure in the form of crystals is able to be collected and observed. Some substances cannot be
recrystallized with only one solvent. Therefore, two solvents, or solvent pairs, can help dissolve
the substance at boiling point only and not room temperature.2 Solvent pairs are able to be
dissolved into each other but not anything else effectively. One part of the pair is used to prevent

of these techniques, we are able to see the points of similarities among different species of
