Mountain Bikes Are The Name Of Consistency
Carbon bike products are the name of consistency Mountain bikes are the preference of the
courageous bike lovers who desire to ascend exciting trails and travel in the course of rocky and
jagged territory surrounded through the scenic views. It s a pleasant way to exercise as well as connect
with the charming nature. Instead road bikes, they show chunkier tires with a pebbly walk for control
and toughness on an off road landscape as well as a more upright cycling pose giving to take delight in
the view. Any rider with a carbon fiber bike wheels possibly will ride these mountain bikes, along with
there exists common ways to relish and respect the sport, from enjoyable rides on wide, even hilly
roads to the high powered contest on a mechanical single track. Along with a number of mountain
bikes possess systems of suspension which soak up forces for a happier ride. Terrain parks intended
for the mountain bikes appear all over as of the jump tracks below the metropolitan overpasses toward
the lift operated tracks built within the ski resorts. For a clear familiarity, contain a mountain bike tour
to any of the great carbon fiber bike products. You could anticipate features similar to half pipes,
elevated bridges, as well as curbs of different sizes, bended corners along with downward switchbacks
toward being traversed by the superior wheels. Trips, as well as classes, are wonderful. These help you
solve issues similar to artificial terrain as well as sharp cornering. Even as

How Tom Wolfe Changed America
Tom Wolfe has a strange to almost creepy approach to the piece, although he does a fantastic job of
explaining the culture shift that occurred between the 18th 20th centaury. When identifying the way
America s have changed their opinions of the sexual acts of hooking up , from the once hatred act of
sleeping in the same bed before marriage to the friendly way of explaining which act was performed
using a baseball diamond. Eventually it transformed to we hooked up but didn t even have sex. Wolfe
tries to present his research in a modern, young kind of fashion, but comes off more of menacing and
egotistic. I believe that Wolfe s argument is that the 2000 s changed the history of America for forever,
in a negative aspect and also a positive way. That in the beginning wealth was accompanied by an
elegant wardrobe and personal chauffeur, through time however with the advancement in technology
and the radical new idea of the internet were introduced people perspective of wealth changed

The Seventh-Day Adventists Essay
Seventh day Adventists The Seventh day Adventists are one of the many different branches of
Christianity. The Adventists came about during the 19th century and began with the Millerite
Movement ( Seventh Day Adventists , 2013). The movement was started by an American Baptist
preacher by the name of William Miller, who believed that the Second Coming the return of Christ to
Earth would occur between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844 ( Seventh Day Adventism , 2004).
This prediction was largely based off Daniel 8:14 in the Bible (See slide 4). Since he and his followers
believed in this imminent advent, or return, they were called Adventists ( Seventh Day Adventism ).
According to an article on Seventh Day Adventism (2004), when ... Show more content on

Edison believed that Miller had misidentified where Christ would appear and believed that He was to
enter the Heavenly Sanctuary instead of Earth. Joseph insisted that his followers observe the Jewish
Sabbath worshipping on Saturday instead of Sunday worships. This increased the already Anti
Catholic view of the Adventists, going to far as to blame the Catholic church for changing the worship
day ( Seventh Day Adventism , 2004). These two groups stayed separate until a women by the name
of Ellen White, a well known supporter and a believed prophet, combined their ideas and the trio
established the Seventh Day Adventist denomination, which recieved it s official name in 1860 (
Seventh Day Adventism ). Later, on May 21, 1863, the headquarters for the Adventist Church was
established in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Church was moved to Washington D.C and the
neighboring community of Takoma Park, Maryland in 1903 and again to Silver Spring, Maryland in
1989, where it still resides today ( Seventh Day Adventists , 2013). A new sect of the Adventist
branch, named the Davidian Seventh day Adventists, was created in 1929 by a man named Victor
Houteff, whose beliefs differed than that of the main Church. The sect further divided into many sub
groups, and one widely known group became known as the Branch Davidians, though it holds very
little in common with rest of the

Essay on Lebanon and its main problems
Lebanon
Lebanon is a Middle Eastern country that is delimitated to the west by the Mediterranean and to the
east by the Syro African Depression. Lebanon borders Syria to the north and to the east, and Israel in
the south.
Lebanon s climate is Mediterranean ; mild to cool, wet winters, and hot, dry summers.
Some of Lebanon s natural resources are the limestone, salt, water and iron ore. Like any other
country there are natural hazards such as dust storms and sandstorms.

Due to civil war, Lebanon s economy was highly affected, for instance central government institutions
disintegrated. Therefore the estate was handicapped, and accumulated several debts, for example by
2001 Lebanon had reached $28 billion, or nearly 150% of GDP.
As a matter of fact, economic performance was sluggish in 2000 and 2001 and there was no growth in
2000.
Lebanon s current program of reforms focuses on three main aspects:
Economic restoration and sustainable growth
Fiscal consolidation and structural improvement in public sector finances
Monetary, financial, and price stability
The Lebanese pound is firmly pegged to the American dollar since September 1999. Furthermore
Lebanese currency has undetermined competitiveness, with merchandise exports falling from 23% of
GDP in 1989 to 4% in 2000 .
In 2002, the Lebanese government increased gasoline taxes, reduced expenditures, and approved a
value added tax ; all of these became effective in February 2002.
In Lebanon is it hard to finance the government because of the slow money growth and dollarization,
which results in a burden to the Central Bank . Some of the measurements that the government has put
primary emphasis on privatization are: the telecom sector and electricity, Beirut port, and water
utilities. Lebanon s is U.S fourth largest source of imported goods; the U.S has more than

Walt Disney Set the Stage for Great Film Making Essay...
All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them , said by Walt Disney himself (
Walt Disney Quotes ). Disney had a big imagination followed with big goals. As always in the
entertainment business, there are going to be people competing to tear each other down, but Walt
Disney kept his focus and determination to take on great things. All it took was one person with a
strong passion for entertainment to set the stage for filmmaking long after he was gone. Walt Disney
came from an Anglo Irish family that immigrated to Canada just before the potato famine ( Walt
Disney Interviewed by Fletcher Markle ). On December 5, 1901, Elias and Flora Disney welcomed
their fourth son into their home in Chicago, Illinois. When Walter ... Show more content on

their own business called Iwerks Disney Commercial Artists. The company was not so successful and

Kansas City Film Ad Company drawing cartoons for movie theaters. Disney took a camera from the

his Laugh O Grams made them far more advanced than his studio work (Schwartz). Walt Disney made
puppets of his characters for his films instead of drawing them so he could save time and make the
process easier on himself and Iwerks ( Walt Disney Interviewed by Fletcher Markle ). After his boss at
the Kansas City Film Ad Company turned down his idea of cartoons, Disney reached out to Margaret
J. Winkler, a cartoon distributor in New York, about his Laugh O Grams. Winkler gladly agreed and
Disney signed a contract and moved to New York City. He named his business Disney Bros. Studio ,
but quickly changed to Walt Disney Studio after Alice in Cartoonland was shown in theaters. Disney
realized he and Iwerks could not handle all the work on their own so

The Medieval And Renaissance Era
Things will inevitably change, no doubt that s a fact. Some people don t like change, but change is
something that is always going to happen no matter what; either for better or worse. For instance,
there are things that can change shortly from this very moment. If things can change in a very short
time, how much more in hundreds of years. For the purpose of this paper, we re going to address the
fundamental changes in the Medieval and Renaissance era over those hundreds of years, especially
concerning architecture, in which brought us to our present. The Medieval and Renaissance eras

they wanted to hasten the completion of a project with less people since many died due to the reasons
addressed before war and plague.
On the other hand, after hundreds of years, our dear ancestors, whom I m so thankful for, stumbled
upon this idea that practicality of life in earth is supposed to be our priority instead of worrying so
much about this vague idea of the afterlife. They basically started the idea of YOLO (You Only Live
Once). Not only that, they also became obsessed with science and reasoning, another thing I m oh so
thankful for. They were also infatuated with simple geometry, precise symmetry, and the system of
proportion The Golden Mean, just like in ancient Romans. They badly wanted to revive the ancient
Roman architecture that they stuck with one specific style unlike the Medieval period. In addition,
since the religious dogma is not the main law of land anymore, structures built during the Renaissance
period were able to flexibly embody these characteristics without further problems. Many structures
were built for wealthy families, such as the Medicis, to show off their influence. As a result, the
aesthetics of the buildings became the priority instead. The structure of the building was still very
important, but they re now less visible as the architects then did

Pow Camps And The Concentration Camps

WWII. POW camps had better treatment and were better than than other concentration camps. The
conditions of the camps varied from one to another, but from Stalags and Concentration camps, they
were close to the same. A large portion of deaths in POW camps were from lack of food (Uhl 1). The
recommended daily minimum was a 2,000 calorie diet (Rees 5).However this was impossible to do
with the shortage of food. (Rees 5). Some of the food was potatoes and moldy bread (Uhl 1) which
was part sawdust (Uhl 1). Many only got 5 grams of bread (Solzhenitsyn 25). Millions of people were
surely to die (Jones 11). Although the camps were harsh, the prisoners were allowed to do many
activities such as sports, newspaper, musicals, and more (Uhl 2). Many camps featured musical and
plays to entertain others and to be used as propaganda (Uhl 2). Even though the POW s had better
choices, they were still beaten and murdered like the others captured. (Uhl 2). In eight months, Nazis
murdered 2.8 Russian Pow s, exceeding the amount of mass murder during the holocaust. (Uhl 2).
While in the camps, many died from the Baatan Death March that killed off all remaining prisoners of
the Japanese ( Prisoners of War 4). The weather was also a large aspect to the deaths. The prisoner s

Persuasive Essay Examples
When faced with hardships in life, a person is often given two choices, to either give up or persevere.
Many people who are faced with these choices choose to give up, these people never got to live life to
their full potential. If they would have persevered then they would have eventually overcame their
challenge and been able to move on from it. If a person does not persevere they will never be able to
move on and will always be ok with where they are at and never grow. This is why a person should
persevere, but what exactly is a person who perseveres? In the dictionary, perseverance is defined as a,
steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties,
obstacles, or discouragement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By persevering they will continue to become better instead of staying where they are at, scared to
continue the new skill or play. In nonfiction literature, authors talk about the theme perseverance. In
the article, Warriors Don t Cry, all of the kids are demonstrating perseverance everyday they go to
school. They know that many people are against them and they will have to go through both emotional
and physical hurt but they push through and go anyways so eventually things will get better. In the
article, I am Malala, she shows perseverance by continuing to go to school even though the threats she
has received. She is afraid but this does not stop her, she still speaks out and goes to school so
eventually she can make a change. In the book, The Year we Disappeared, everyone in their family is
showing perseverance. Their dad gets shot, and this affects everyone s life. They are now afraid
everyday and under protection, not able to live a normal life. But this did not stop them to live a happy
life, they moved somewhere where they could go to school and work feeling safe. Authors use
nonfiction literature to persuade their reader to persevere when they are faced with challenges in life,
rather than give up. The article, Warriors Don t Cry, teaches a person to persevere and face their

A Discussion Of Herodotus And Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca
It s a New World
(A discussion of Herodotus, Cabeza de Vaca and their explorations)
When you stumble upon something new, what s your first instinct? Sharing the information with
others, soaking in the sight you re seeing, or even trying to document everything that is in front of
you. The discovery of new land, people, and their way of life is one for the record books. An event
like this will go down in history, and so will the person that did the discovering. This was the case for
Herodotus and Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca. Herodotus was born in Halicarnassus, what today is
known as turkey. He is considered by most to have been the first Greek historian, therefore the first
European historian. He was a great traveler, visiting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His travels lead him more around different parts of America and not different countries. An article,
titled Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca: The Great Pedestrian of North and South America, briefly
describes some of the whereabouts of Cabeza de Vaca as he traveled around America. All five rafts
eventually wrecked along the coast of Texas... Soon Cabeza de Vaca was traveling into the
southeastern Texas mainland... Cabeza de Vaca and the other castaways decided to escape their Indian
captors and marched south and west hoping to find their Spanish compatriots in central Mexico,
(Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca: The Great Pedestrian of North and South America). From this portion
of the article, it is understood that Cabeza de Vaca did traveling, just as Herodotus did. Both men were
also known for their firsts. Cabeza de Vaca was one of the first to visit America and stay with the
tribes that inhabited land. Also one of the first from his country to document what he had seen while
there. Herodotus was also known for his firsts. Scott W. Nixon, in his article, elaborates on this.
Herodotus, is thought of as the first Greek and thereby the first Western historian...Those who did
archaeological exploration in Egypt and Mesopotamia found Herodotus writings on these subjects
useful, (Nixon). His first were very important not only for that time but for people in the future as
well. Nixon continues by saying, His writings also became valuable to biblical scholars in their

Summary Of Alfred Hitchcock s Rope
Film innovator and auteur Alfred Hitchcock is renowned for his genius in building tension, fear and
suspense throughout his films. Hitchcock used visual cinema techniques including cinematography,
symbolism and colour in films such as Rope and Vertigo to invoke a response from his audience.
Hitchcock wanted us to identify with the psychological and physical situations that his protagonists
and antagonists experience.
In Rope, Hitchcock uses innovative cinematography techniques so that the audience feel as if they are
a part of the unfolding drama. The camera work is choreographed so that the action is filmed in one
continuous shot. In this way, in Rope Hitchcock attempted to create the effect of a live stage show.
The effect of the real time footage has the result upon the audience of a constant unrelenting sense of
uncertainty and suspense that anything could happen at any time, such as a dinner guest opening the
chest containing the body of David. Because the audience is constantly on edge, their reactions, such
as fear, are heightened. The camera journeys through the unfolding drama in a point of view style that
is immediate and personal in terms of the characters and objects Hitchcock wants his audience to see.
This camera movement not only gives the audience a sense of involvement, but creates a sensation of
unease and claustrophobia in their minds. Due to the close up cinematography, the audience becomes
drawn into the film, feeling as if they are experiencing the

words, they become high maintenance; always believing they should look their best. With as much

Charcoal is in the business of selling charcoal for grills. Even though Kingsford increased its market
share in 2000, their forecast indicates they will not reach the initial revenue mark. With the charcoal
market s growth slowing, and the gas grill market gaining market share, Kingsford needs to revise its

As mentioned before, charcoal is well in the mature stage of the product cycle in which more
advertising would be optimal. Charcoal should be Kingsford s cash cow in which they can use the
funds generated from them and invest it in research and development; so that they may introduce a
new product preferably in the gas grilling market in the near future. As with a stagnant price increase,
the same can be said of advertising from Kingsford. Their advertising budget has decreased
throughout the years, while the gas grilling market has increased its advertising budget each year.
MMA s analysis of 1998 spending shown that TV advertising can drive volume increase of around 7%
for the current year and even a 3% to 4% increase of volume purchased in the following year. This
indicates the importance of advertising. One area which is lacking for the whole charcoal category
since Kingsford is the only brand that advertises at all for charcoal. Perhaps advertisements can show
how charcoal grilling is the correct and tasty way to grill instead of gas grilling. Kingsford can look to
do blind tastings again and publish the findings. If they look to stretch the grilling season they should
look beyond just NASCAR events, but perhaps also with NFL sporting events, as well as other events
and activities in which grilling is popular. They could become a sponsor in which sports can endorse

Family Structure And Delinquency
Many things in a child s life can cause them to become delinquent. Family structure and parent
behavior plays a major role in youth delinquency. Research has also distinguished gender difference
can make a big impact on the type of delinquent behavior. Boys and Girls both function entirely
different therefore behavior is different. This paper will reflect on explanations to why gender makes a
differences. We will also look at family structure and behavior as to how it influences delinquency
behavior. With this in mind, the delinquency rate for males, is higher than females. Years ago, females

Females that commit crimes also carry more of the male characteristics. In 1925, Cyril Burt linked
female delinquency to menstruation. William Healy and Augusta Bronner suggested that males
superior traits leads to delinquencies. Male delinquency focuses on aggression and superiority, where
as, females delinquency comes from repressed sexuality, gender conflict, and abnormal socialization.
Hormonal or chemical imbalances can lead to delinquency in either gender (Juvenile Delinquency,
2005). Looking further, family plays an important role in delinquency. Broken homes from divorce or
separation can cause a child to lash out with disruptive behavior. Family transitions such as moving,
financial instability, family roles, increased stress or conflict, can cause a child to become confused
and lash out. It is hard trying to raise a child on your own, and make a living. Single parents
sometimes neglect their children trying to provide for them. Adding to the family through a

Measuring Reflexes and Reactions
Abstract: The purpose of this lab was to test how reflexes and compare them with our lab partner by
measuring them in various experiments. All of the students tested their reactions by using many
different experiments such as catching a ruler without moving your arm, hitting a student under the
knee, how long it takes them to complete a puzzle, the ping pong reflex test, and the pupil response.
For the ruler experiment one student placed their hand on the ledge of a table while the other dropped
the ruler, wherever the student caught it depends on how good their reflexes are. The knee reflex was
test by using a hammer. One student would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To complete the ping pong reflex one student would lightly throw a ping pong at the other and they
will observe their reaction to it. Finally the pupil response reflex was completed by having one student
close their eyes for 30 seconds and then the other student would see how their eye changed.
Introduction: Reflexes are actions that occur after a response without having to think about doing it.
Reflexes are very important to have because they keep us aware of what is happening. For example if
you touch a hot stove your body is telling you that its hot which would then help prevent you from
burning. A reflex arc is a neural pathway that commands a reflex action.
Reflex arcs tell our body to use our reflexes and are very important to us. While completing all of the
experiments in lab our body used reflexes and everyone s reaction time varied.
Hypothesis: If my reaction time to all of the experiments are high then that means I have good
reflexes?
Pre Lab Questions:
1. What is the difference between a reflex arc and a nonreflex arc? In a reflex arc, a sensory neuron
transfers impulses from the skin and then brings

Listing From Hong Kong to New York On the 19th of September 2014 a history made. Alibaba
became Alibaba Group Holding Limited through New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). There were
unique reasons why Alibaba listed on the NYSE instead of on Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and
Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) since it is a China domiciled company. SSE found to be too
restrictive, that it imposed limits on trading, size, timing, and speed of foreign capital flows. Alibaba
had also attempted to be listed on the HKEx. Since Alibaba embraces dual class share structure, this
was the main reason HKEx rejected Alibaba s proposal to be listed as HKEx does not authorize dual
class share structure, it allows one share one vote principle instead. Jack Ma, the determined and
charismatic leader, did not stop after being rejected. Alibaba proposed to Nasdaq and the NYSE.
Eventually, on September 19, 2014, it was listed on the NYSE, being the largest U.S. IPO of common
stock, raised $21.8 billion, with $68 per share. It was obvious that the restrictions on SSE and HKEx s
ban on dual class share structure had led Alibaba to land on the NYSE and trading up until today. Dual

Brain tumor detection is a tedious job because of the complex structure of the brain. From the MR
images, the information such as tumor location can be understood. It provides an easier way to
diagnose the tumor and plan the surgical approach for its removal. Doctors do not have a method that
can be used for brain tumor detection and standardization, which leads to varying conclusions between
one doctor to another. There comes the requirement of an automated system for locating tumor in
Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI).
The existing classification methods have limitation in accuracy, exactness and require manual
interaction. So, designing automated system using image segmentation techniques helps make the
detection accurate and efficient.
A new system that can be used as a second decision for the surgeons and radiologists is proposed. In
this system, brain tumors have been segmented with the help of two methods that is Enhanced K
Strange Points and K Means algorithms followed by Morphological Filtering.
The Enhanced K Strange Points Clustering algorithm converged faster with less number of steps than
the K Means Clustering algorithm.
Segmentation of brain image is imperative in surgical planning and treatment planning in the field of
medicine. In this work, we have proposed a computer aided system for brain MR image segmentation
using Enhanced K Strange Points Clustering algorithms

An Analysis of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73 Essay example
An Analysis of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73
Sonnet 73 by William Shakespeare is widely read and studied. But what is Shakespeare trying to say?
Though it seems there will not be a simple answer, for a better understanding of Shakespeare s Sonnet
73, this essay offers an explication of the sonnet from The Norton Anthology of English Literature:
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou seest the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since its introduction in the 1530s, nearly every major British and American poet has made use of the
form (Sonnet xxi). In Versification, James McAuley defines that the sonnet is, In the strict sense, a
fourteen line poem usually in iambic pentameters. The Italian or petrachan type, consists of an octet,
usually rhymed cdecde or in some permutation of these. The English sonnet type consists of three
quatrains plus a concluding couplet, rhymed variously, the Shakespearian form being abab cdcd efef
gg. In sixteenth and seventeenth century use, the term was also loosely applied to any lyric poem,
especially a love poem, as in [John] Donne s (1572 1631) Songs and Sonnets (82).
The sonnet, however, is not simply a fourteen line poem having a prescribed rhyme scheme. Certainly
most sonnets are fourteen line poems, and most sonneteers do confine themselves to prescribed rhyme
patterns (Bender and Squier xxii).
The theme, in Sonnet 73, is the poet s aging. Each quatrain develops an image of lateness, of
approaching extinction of a season, of a day, and of a fire, but they also apply to a life (Abrams et al.
867). The poet compares his age to three images through the quatrains: autumn, the dying of the year
(first quatrain); the dying of the fire (third quatrain). The first line draws a picture of himself, in me,
and in a certain time, That time of year, of his life (surely, he is old now). We can see that the

The North Africa Conflict
While analyzing the North Africa conflict, a combination of service capabilities would be required to
achieve the desired end state of deterring and if necessary, the defeat of Algerian guerilla aggression to
prevent regional and global destabilization. Taking into account the current military landscape that
exists today, a joint task force (JTF) would be the ideal military response of the United States and
collation partner s while utilizing the regional military assets. Intelligence suggests guerilla forces are
capable of a full scale offensive into Morocco in less than 36 hour notice, bringing the factors of time,
force and space into consideration. The United States Air Force controls and operates numerous
satellites for global positioning, missile warning, communication and meteorological purposes along
with reconnaissance aircraft. Through a combination of satellite imagery and reconnaissance aircraft,
identifying and collecting intelligence on guerilla military targets and movements would be the first
objective in the conflict. Once targets are identified, bombing campaigns could commence from
regional Air force bases in the Area of Operations (AO), softening up guerilla forces in advance of the
next stage of the military engagement, the ground campaign. Air force tankers such as the HC 130,
KC 135 and KC 10 would need to be deployed to offer in flight air refueling for the F 15, F 16, F 22
and A 10 s departing from regional Air force bases. The Air Force also

Do You Speak American Summary
Do You Speak American Discussion The PBS presentation of Do You Speak American , hosted by
Robert MacNeil, seeks to explore the rich diversity of the blending of cultures in the United States
(US) through a study of dialects. Even with their multi segment series, the producers were only able to
briefly discuss a small portion of the vast experience which is our country. As a family history
researcher, I found that the brief discussion of Pidgen, Gullah, and Geechee most interesting. Gullah,
Geechee, and Pidgen are considered languages evolved from the African Americans slaves brought to
this country. While searching for more information about these dialects, I discovered that the term

The Destruction Of Self Individuality In America Today
The Destruction of Self Individuality In a world where people are edged to act as their own, comes the
contradiction of perspicacity. If, and when, what you do, wear, or feel doesn t align with society s
description of ideal; it then falls as an act of rebellion, misconduct, or the seeking of attention. Today,
as individuals of society, we are eradicating each other other not by the temperament of a person, but
by the image we portray everyone to be. Anything more or less than that is anathema. Individuality is
limited and under attack in America today. The destruction of self individuality takes place during all
stages of life, not just as an adolescent. Although children often do not take into consideration the
thoughts of those around them, does not make them any less susceptible to it. As children we are
taught that pink is a girl color and blue is for boys, girls play will dolls and boys play with trucks, girls
must always behave properly and boys will be boys . We limit the desired toys they want, option of
favorite colors, and the option of distinct originality. We often do not realize the restrictions we set on
the younger generations because those are the rules of society, and we must play the game. As the
teenage years approach, we enforce more rules at a stricter rate. At this point in time, what you ...

Islamic Law and Human Trafficking in Saudi Arabia Essay
Over recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been confronted with a great challenge:
becoming a modernized country without rejecting its long held culture and heritage. In many ways,
the state has been a success story, having developed a profitable oil based economy and considerable
world influence. Less than one hundred years ago, Saudi Arabia had not yet been unified; today, it is a
state with complex financial, legal, and political systems, with a culture marked by deep history and
faith. Since the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks, Saudi Arabia has continued to work on a reform
agenda to promote greater participation by Saudi citizens, a vibrant economy, and a civil society.
However, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Qur an s commitment to fighting slavery, trafficking, and labor abuse, as well as Saudi Arabia s
hesitant creation of anti trafficking movements and legislation, indicate that such legislation is not
necessarily in contradiction with the principles of Islamic law. Despite the reluctance of Western
commentators and legal scholars to accept that Islamic law can reach outcomes largely similar to a
Western legal system, anti trafficking legislation and movements in Saudi Arabia have the potential to
succeed. As such, more effective ways to fight human trafficking in Saudi Arabia should stem from
cultural and political reforms and better enforcement of the limited anti trafficking legislation it does
have, rather than an unnecessary and politically dangerous upheaval of the legal system from outside
forces. Saudi Arabia s political culture is unfortunately not very conducive to gender equality or anti
trafficking measures. Women s rights in Saudi Arabia are defined by the Sunni interpretation of Islam
and various tribal customs under patriarchal culture of the country. Ali Sallam, in an analysis of Saudi
society, explains the often diminished societal role of women: under tribal customs, all women are
required to have a male guardian, who is either a father, brother, or husband (Sallam, 2013). A

Requirement 1: Install and maintain a firewall for the protection of card holder data
Firewall controls the data traffic between internal and external non trusted networks. All systems must
be protected from unauthorized access from non trusted networks.
Requirement 2: Do not use default security configurations like logins, passwords
Default settings and configurations are the easiest way to approach any network. These default
settings are well known in hacker communities.
II. Protect card holder data
Requirement 1: Protect stored cardholder data
Encryption, masking and hashing are the critical aspects of data security. It is not easy to read the
encrypted information without cryptographic keys. Time based storage and disposal policies play an
important role. Try to store as minimum amount of cardholder data like there is no need to store
verification code, pin number and expiration dates.
Requirement 2: Encrypt transmission of cardholder data across a public networks
Always use encryption before the passing sensitive information to a public networks. Secure socket

Findings 2.1 Who decides on the limitations of freedom of speech? The concept of Freedom of speech
is one which is held sovereign by many constitutions and individuals, especially within the American

decides to do so they can be punished under one of the many ridiculously strict jail terms within their
constitution and they are also unable to listen to foreign radio broadcasts. The result in Cuba
restricting freedom of speech to such a high standard is the population within prisons are soared to an
imaginable number, meaning less space for the more serious criminals as most of the cells are

the concept of freedom of speech, it should not be limited. Of course, it is considered that many
individuals or political bodies take advantage of the constitutional law, but because of the law they are
punished accordingly. If

Mise En-Scene In Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window
Alfred Hitchcock s thriller Rear Window (Hitchcock, 1954) begins with the immediate use of mise en
scène in order to establish a sense of atmosphere, equilibrium and the mundane, soon to be disrupted
as the events of the film unfold and are observed through the eyes of the voyeuristic protagonist, Jeff.
Setting, cinematography and various other expressive mise en scène techniques work together to
influence the overall appearance of the film. Though, by taking a closer look, these techniques reveal
the significance of the narrative and characters. In the opening sequence, Hitchcock s original visual
style provides signposts for the audience to recognize what will be significant in the future: instead of
establishing what is only happening in the moment in time; mise en scène is used to suggest what is to
come. This arrangement of the Classical Hollywood narrative starting with the setting and characters
in a state equilibrium acts as a seemingly all purpose, archetypal opening by establishing location and
introducing character. Simultaneously we can see that this sequence is vastly different from the rest of
the film: it is leading the viewer into a false sense of security the calm before the storm as Jeff soon
happens to piece together information leading to the possibility that one of his neighbors murdered
their wife. This sequence is one of the only moments in the film we see things the protagonist does
not, thus this carefully constructed opening is preparing

Analysis Of Luncheon On The Grass
Discussion Essay: Luncheon on the Grass (Le Déjeuner sur l herbe) Luncheon on the grass, a painting
that left people of its time stunned was created in 1863 by painter Edouard Manet. This painting was
an Impressionist work that broke the barrier that art should only be made if it respects the established
conventions and attempts to achieve timelessness. The original name for this artwork was The Bath
but it was changed four years later. It is an oil painting on canvas and its size is 208cm x 264.5cm

All the figures in the painting were real individuals in Manet s life. The man towards the left is
Ferdinand Leenhof who is his soon to be brother in law, the man on the right is his younger brother
Eugene Manet and most importantly the nude woman who left everyone stunned was a female model,
Victorine Meurent, who makes another appearance in Manet s other painting Olympia where once
again she is the topic of debate. As all the figures were recognizable and were portrayed in an explicit
narrative made it even more difficult to be displayed alongside traditional paintings. The painting was
rejected by the official French academy in 1863 because it left the salon jury outraged to how the
woman is being shown in the nude with no shame at all. Although nude women had always been the
subject of classical art the problem here was that she was being depicted as a normal human being.
Her body posture seemed relaxed, by slouching it also creates folds on her stomach. The salon did not
approve as she was displayed as a regular modern day woman who happened to take her clothes off
(you can see her polka dotted dress and hat towards her left) rather than a goddess or mythological
creature. Another problem they had was that she is looking directly into the viewer s eyes with
confidence and self awareness to which people were not

Risks And Risk Response Strategies
Having identified the risks and grouped them according to severity, the first trade off the manager has
to make is the decision to forego managing the less severe risks and focus on those which pose the
most severe threat to the project. More significant risk may include risks which require the entire
redesign of the project, whereas less severe risk may include those which cause little or no material
changes to the project. Since the less severe risks are likely to cause little or no material changes to the
project and use less resources, it is reasonable to trade off these risks in favour of managing the more
severe risks. On the other hand, these risks will remain and continue to pose a threat to the project,
therefore they should be recorded in the risk register and dealt with as secondary risks. Risk response
strategies should then be implemented to deal with both the severe and less severe risks which have
been previously identified and analysed (Elkington Smallman, 2002). Hillson (2009) identifies four
possible risk response strategies: avoidance; transfer; mitigation and acceptance. Risk avoidance
involves completely eliminating the possibility of the risk. The simplest and most common method of
avoiding the risk is removing it from the project deliverable. Another common way of avoiding risks
is designing around them. Risk transfer involves giving the responsibility of the risk to someone or an
organisation outside of the project. There are several ways

Endosymbiosis
The hypothesized steps for the evolution of eukaryotic cells from prokaryotic organisms involved
mitochondria and plastids. Eukaryotic cells classical membrane bound organelles evolved from the
bacteria through a process called endosymbiosis, which ranks amongst the most important
evolutionary events in history. In the early 1960s, Stanier, Douderoff, and Adelberg referred to the
prokaryote eukaryote divide as the greatest single evolutionary discontinuity to be found in the present
day world While chloroplasts organelles in a plant cell originated from cyanobacteria through
endosymbiosis as well. Therefore, the process involved the following steps: The eukaryote

The primitive eukaryotic cell was also eventually able to eat prokaryotes, a marked improvement to
absorbing small molecules from its environment ( Endosymbiosis The Appearance of the Eukaryotes ,
2017). This whole process of endosymbiosis started when the eukaryote engulfed and could not digest
an autotrophic bacterium; there is evidence suggesting that this bacterium was alphaproteobacteria,
which uses photosynthesis for energy. This opened up a new trend where the eukaryote provided
protection and nutrients to the prokaryote, and in return the prokaryotic endosymbiont returned the
favour by providing additional energy to its eukaryotic host through respiratory cellular mechanism.
In the long run this became a permanent arrangement in completing the endosymbiosis process
because the endosymbiont lost genes it previously used for its independent life and transferred others
to eukaryotes nucleus as it became more dependent on its new host for organic molecules and

when couples receive bad news, they can cure the disorder by gene therapy, thus, abortion will no

Genetic screening allows parents to contribute more to the health of their child by knowing the
complications beforehand.
Not only can the fetus be cured of disorders, but it also decrease the probabilities of the offspring
obtaining such diseases. For instance, if a woman is bearing a boy of a father with the history of
prostate cancer, then the baby will probably develop that cancer. But with the cell suicide gene

neither will his sons since the gene that the doctors gave him copied itself into every cell in his body,
including the sperm cells.

People believe that sports have been taken over by criminals, as though college and professional teams
recruit out of the prison yards instead of the schoolyards. And the NFL, or as the clever among us
would say ? the National Felons League (how witty!), has taken the brunt of public criticism.
But there is no truth in the widely held belief that sport and crime go hand in hand. Little research and
few studies have actually been done on the prevalence of crime among athletes or the levels of crime
in sport compared to the rest of society, but the public obviously doesn t need studies to form an
opinion (Coakley, 157). When you open a daily newspaper and have to wade threw the mucky
headlines of rape and battery just to get to a box score, it s no wonder people think that all athletes are
criminals. Simply put, athletes live by different standards then everyone else. And it s unfair. They re
in the spotlight and for some reason this means they should do no wrong even though they re far from
perfect just like everyone else. But being imperfect seems to be unacceptable for an athlete.
This idea is partly the media s fault because they shine the lights on the athletes and in turn blind the
public from the truth. As Michael Irving once said, You guys write this and say this about players, and

Praying For Sheetrock Book Report
There were many things you could have learned from reading the book Praying for Sheetrock that
would be very useful to your lives. Segregation was one of those things because in the book the white
had their own community in the book and African Americans had their own communities in the wood
they both were separated but not equal because the white were in charge of both communities.
Corruption was happening all through this book from the sheriff Poppell tipping the truck on the

in this book, like Sheriff Hutchinson shoots Flinch in the mouth and leaving him for dead in jail cell.

when the trucks were on the road and sheriff Poppel let the poor people take what s on the truck

Turing Red Flag By Toby Walsh
Toby Walsh addresses a number of concerns that many will overlook when it comes to technological
advancements such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am sure there will be many who will be too
fascinated by an AI inhibiting human behavior to worry about the consequences. As some may argue,
we re just not at that point yet for many to care. However, as we get closer I do believe that the Turing
Red Flag would benefit society as whole but not for all the reasons Walsh discusses. First, I agree that
self driven vehicles should clearly be identifiable to human drivers. It could serve for a number of
purposes, similar to how student drivers are identifiable on the road. For instance, seeing a student
driver may influence other drivers to be more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It makes sense considering how we currently do not have anything in place to safeguard us from
issues that may arise in the future. I feel like it s a step in the right direction but it depends on how
deep the law wants to go in regulating the use of AI. The basic concept of the law seems fine, though.
For example, going back to autonomous cars and how they should be identifiable to human drivers, it
should be something subtle like what Walsh said, a distinct license plate. It definitely should not have
a flashing green light placed on top of the vehicle. Imagine a world of self driving cars all with
flashing green lights. It s not only intrusive but it s also very distracting. If we had AI blatantly
impersonating a celebrity, such as commentating the World Cup as Messi, we wouldn t it periodically
inform us that he s a bot because as mentioned earlier, it would take away from the experience. It
might create a new social norm where humans will themselves pretend to be AI and who knows what
issues (if any) that will bring. In addition to requiring AI to properly introduce themselves, it should
also indicate that it s collecting data. Thus, the basic concepts of the Turing Red Flag law should be

The Civil War that took place in the United States from 1861 to 1865 could have easily swung either
way at several points during the conflict. There is however several reasons that the North would
emerge victorious from this bloody war that pit brother against brother. Some of the main contributing
factors are superior industrial capabilities, more efficient logistical support, greater naval power, and a
largely lopsided population in favor of the Union. Also one of the advantages the Union had was that
of an experienced government, an advantage that very well might have been one of the greatest
contributing factors to their success. There are many reasons factors that lead to the North s victory,
and each of these elements in and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The North began the war more prepared and better equipped than the South as their factories began to
pour out brand new rifles and munitions at an impressive rate. As the war continued on the industrial
capabilities of the North would prove to become one of the greatest contributing factors to their ability
to sustain military operations. Tied directly into the industrial capabilities of the North is the
economical superiority that they held over the South. The economy was the greatest Southern
weakness; it was the North s greatest strength. The North was not only a huge farm but a sprawling
factory as well (Kennedy, Cohen, and Bailey pg. 439). Wars are expensive, and in order to sustain
military operations especially one that would drag on for four years money would become of great
importance. The North was comprised of approximately 75% of the nation s wealth, and they were
able to maintain their trade with Europe which kept the money, and weapons pouring in. The South s
inability to raise money took its toll on the pocket books of the Southern States, and in turn would be
one of the major contributing factors to their defeat. A lengthy war on the other hand favored the
wealthier and

Why Are Hedgehogs Alive
Ever since we were younger we always thought that many things were alive but what made us think
that it was alive? For example, why are hedgehogs alive? One of the ways how hedgehogs are alive is
that they have a cellular structure and function, they reproduce, they use metabolism, they use
homeostasis, they have a long line of heredity, they have evolved, and they use interdependence.
Hedgehogs are mammals so they reproduce sexually and it usually takes 35 58 days for their baby to
be born. typically the male travels much more farther to find a mate than the female. A female can
carry 6 hoglets and once they are born it takes 6 8 to be able to live on its own. Once they re born they
do not have spines and born blind but after a few hours

Contrary to popular belief the name Frankenstein is not that of the monster, but of his creator Victor,
and follows the atrocities of this young man s harrowing existence. Written by Mary Shelley,
Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus follows the life of Victor Frankenstein and his horrendous
creation in a blend of mystery, science fiction, and romanticism. he novel opens not with that of Victor
Frankenstein, but with a series of letters from an arctic explorer by the name of Robert Walton. These
aforementioned letters establish Walton s desiree s to find new passage routes, and instead discovers a
very ill and frostbitten Victor Frankenstein on the edges of the North Pole. Frankenstein weaves the
story of his life to that of his savior from his content childhood with his two younger brothers, cousin,
father and mother; to the tragedy of his teenage years, his obsessive college experience, and finally the
horror of his life then on. The novel is told in an odd manner, switching from the perspective of
Frankenstein, to that of the monster, then returning to the sea captain Walton. Frankenstein s life
morphs into a web that only catches terribleness because his inability to be content with the life that he
was given. The story of Shelley s Frankenstein is at the core, one of creationism and the terrible
results of animating life, through her characters, demonstrates how any creation outside of God s
hands is something that is unearthly and wrong. Victor Frankenstein,

The Attachment Theory
The attachment theory is a theory by Bowlby that refers to the joint mutual relationship that babies
experience and develop with their primary caregiver (Bowlby, 1982). This theory is not supported by
research in various sceneries. However, even though the attachment theory began as an initiative, the
clinical application to the daily clinical understanding of adult mental health complications has penned
red behind the current available research. I believe that the theory can give valuable insight into both
the developing nature of recognized psychiatric disorders as well as in the development of the
therapeutic relationship in adults. My position provides an overview of (a) the application of
attachment theory to diverse psychopathologies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The remaining data available so far suggest that attachment insecurity indeed serves as a risk factor.
Secondly, on the other hand (Dozier et al, 1999) due to differences in attachment conceptualization
and measurement on one side and in how psychiatric disorders are diagnosed, results across studies
can readily be compared. This may in part explain some of the contradictory findings. Nevertheless,
one broad generalisation is emerging on the basis of the distinction between seizure strategies that
reduce and maximise attachment needs and behaviours (approximately corresponds with attachment
preoccupation and dismissal respectively) (Dozier et al, 1999). Externalising psychopathology (which
may involve misconduct behaviour, e.g. eating disorders) are to be associated with hypothesised (or
something) strategies, while s psychopathology (e.g. depression, anxiety and plate line personality
disorder) would transform with (or hyper active) associated strategies. As indicated above, this
generalisation has not been consistently supported. Finally, one can expect that the higher the load for
a genetic disorder, less the contribution social and/or environmental factors (including

Weight Gain and Misconceptions and Tips for Weight Management
In this modern era of globalization, people are so occupied with various problems and issues coming
from everywhere, to an extent that their health is often neglected. Therefore, health problems elevates
and there are rising awareness of the importance of maintaining a good health. One of the most
common health problems is being overweight. Therefore, we are going to discuss about factors
contributing to weight gain, misconceptions in weight management, followed by some tips in weight
management. But here comes the question: Why is it so important to maintain our body weight? What
is so bad about being overweight? It is important to be aware of the seriousness of being overweight,
as it is accompanied by few of the most dangerous diseases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Knowing what your body needs is important to weight management and can control overconsumption
and under consumption of food. Weight management does not include fad diets that promote quick,
temporary weight loss. Instead, it focuses on the long term results that are achieved through slow
weight loss, followed by retention of an ideal body weight for age, sex, and height. Weight gain is so
complicated, that there are so many variables out there to manipulate weight gain. However, the key
factor is no other than an unbalanced diet. People nowadays take too much sugar and salt. They prefer
oily food over steamed ones, and take fast food as regular meals. More and more people are beginning
to inculcate processed food as a part of their daily life. Excessive intake of certain macronutrients like
carbohydrates also contributes to weight gain. Thus, we must be careful with what we eat as our diet
associates with the development of our health. It has been a mystery of all times that, even though
most men eat more than women, they still gain less weight, but burns more fat. The answer lies within
the biological differences between men and women. On average, women s total energy expenditure is
around five to ten percent lower than men s (The Weight Watchers Research Department Article). In
the other hand, difference in physical activities always causes men to be more active compared to
women. Men too have higher metabolic rate, makes them to burn fat

The Future Of Personal Transportation
The future of personal transportation is in complete vehicle automation. However, the risks to
individuals are not as high as the media may make it seem. That being said, it is important for the
public to be aware of the new threats involved in driving automated cars. A consumer interest in
online vehicle security will push manufacturers to invest in better security systems to defend against
hacker attacks.
The vast majority of hackers are not looking to murder people. Most likely they seek to invade
privacy, or exploit online services for financial gain. These people are looking to be a nuisance and
possibly trying to harass particular individuals in the process. To look at the threat of vehicle hacking
as a massively life threatening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of these systems are incredibly useful, including: satellite radio, Bluetooth connections, and the
monitoring of non electronic systems within the car. Personal connectivity to cars on the road has very
high potential, and should continue to be explored, along with the appropriate security measures. One
of the most blatant issues is that many of these electronic systems are too connected to each other.
Hackers are able to exploit the weakness of one system, and then proceed to manipulate the much
more critical ones, such as navigation assistance, phone connectivity, or steering in the most severe
circumstances. Building
It is inevitable that people will attempt to break into these systems for their own personal gain. We are
dependent on security experts to come up with new ways to defend the public from hackers, and
minimize exploitable weaknesses. This can be expensive, and is often neglected by vehicles
manufactures. However, it is a necessary cost if interconnected vehicle systems are to be the norm.
Researcher Peiter Zatko said,
If we know that hacking will happen, then car manufacturers have an ethical obligation to implement
preventative measures.
Implementing such large scale connectivity is reminiscent of the beginnings of the internet in the
1990s. The creators of the networks rushed to introduce this new phenomenon to the world, not
considering the consequences of a service with

How Is Eric Harris Related To Columbine Shooting
Why did Eric and Dylan do it? What made the two even consider the columbine massacre? Dylan
Klebold was a depressant. He felt as if people in the school had left him out, as if he wasn t important
enough for them. Dylan killed because he was in the state of mind that he did not matter to anyone or
anything, as if he was useless and he wanted attention for once. He had succeeded at getting his
attention. Dylan was hotheaded, but depressive and suicidal. Dylan would have never pulled off the
Columbine massacre without Eric. Eric was not a depressive, like Dylan, that was for sure. (196) Eric
Harris was a psychopath. Eric found joy out of violence and didn t care who he hurt. He had no regrets
over hurting people. Eric was sweet faced and well spoken, like many other manipulative
psychopaths. Adults, and even most kids would describe Harris as nice. Harris was actually cold,
calculating, and homicidal. Harris was not merely a troubled kid, but psychiatrists say, he was a
psychopath. Harris has a private journal, it opened with I hate the f***ing world. Harris s hatred
supposedly led him to revenge. This all make look like hate in Eric s eyes, but really it was more
about demanding other people. Gray2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

things that no one pays any attention too. The two planned this out well. As the book goes on to say,
there were no signs of anything to predict murder. (197) Klebold was hurting inside while Harris
wanted to hurt people. Both of the guys had a serious problem with pain. Klebold did not want to be
hurting anymore and Harris was only happy when someone was being hurt due to his psychopathic
ways. The guys clicked because they were both tired of the pain and decided to do something about

Eventually it transformed to we hooked up but didn t even have sex. Wolfe tries to present his research in a modern, young kind of fashion, but comes off more of menacing and egotistic. I believe that Wolfe s argument is that the 2000 s changed the history of America for forever, in a negative aspect and also a positive way. The Adventists came about during the 19th century and began with the Millerite Movement ( Seventh Day Adventists , 2013). The movement was started by an American Baptist preacher by the name of William Miller, who believed that the Second Coming the return of Christ to Earth would occur between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844 ( Seventh Day Adventism , 2004). This prediction was largely based off Daniel 8:14 in the Bible (See slide 4). Joseph insisted that his followers observe the Jewish Sabbath worshipping on Saturday instead of Sunday worships. This increased the already Anti Catholic view of the Adventists, going to far as to blame the Catholic church for changing the worship day ( Seventh Day Adventism , 2004). These two groups stayed separate until a women by the name of Ellen White, a well known supporter and a believed prophet, combined their ideas and the trio established the Seventh Day Adventist denomination, which recieved it s official name in 1860 ( Seventh Day Adventism ). Later, on May 21, 1863, the headquarters for the Adventist Church was established in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Church was moved to Washington D.C and the neighboring community of Takoma Park, Maryland in 1903 and again to Silver Spring, Maryland in 1989, where it still resides today ( Seventh Day Adventists , 2013). A new sect of the Adventist branch, named the Davidian Seventh day Adventists, was created in 1929 by a man named Victor Houteff, whose beliefs differed than that of the main Church. • 11. Summary Of Alfred Hitchcock s Rope Film innovator and auteur Alfred Hitchcock is renowned for his genius in building tension, fear and suspense throughout his films. Hitchcock used visual cinema techniques including cinematography, symbolism and colour in films such as Rope and Vertigo to invoke a response from his audience. Hitchcock wanted us to identify with the psychological and physical situations that his protagonists and antagonists experience. In Rope, Hitchcock uses innovative cinematography techniques so that the audience feel as if they are a part of the unfolding drama. The camera work is choreographed so that the action is filmed in one continuous shot. In this way, in Rope Hitchcock attempted to create the effect of a live stage show. The effect of the real time footage has the result upon the audience of a constant unrelenting sense of uncertainty and suspense that anything could happen at any time, such as a dinner guest opening the chest containing the body of David. Because the audience is constantly on edge, their reactions, such as fear, are heightened. The camera journeys through the unfolding drama in a point of view style that is immediate and personal in terms of the characters and objects Hitchcock wants his audience to see. This camera movement not only gives the audience a sense of involvement, but creates a sensation of unease and claustrophobia in their minds. Alibaba became Alibaba Group Holding Limited through New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). There were unique reasons why Alibaba listed on the NYSE instead of on Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) since it is a China domiciled company. SSE found to be too restrictive, that it imposed limits on trading, size, timing, and speed of foreign capital flows. Alibaba had also attempted to be listed on the HKEx. Since Alibaba embraces dual class share structure, this was the main reason HKEx rejected Alibaba s proposal to be listed as HKEx does not authorize dual class share structure, it allows one share one vote principle instead. Jack Ma, the determined and charismatic leader, did not stop after being rejected. Alibaba proposed to Nasdaq and the NYSE. Eventually, on September 19, 2014, it was listed on the NYSE, being the largest U.S. IPO of common stock, raised $21.8 billion, with $68 per share. It was obvious that the restrictions on SSE and HKEx s ban on dual class share structure had led Alibaba to land on the NYSE and trading up until today. There comes the requirement of an automated system for locating tumor in Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI). The existing classification methods have limitation in accuracy, exactness and require manual interaction. So, designing automated system using image segmentation techniques helps make the detection accurate and efficient. Though it seems there will not be a simple answer, for a better understanding of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73, this essay offers an explication of the sonnet from The Norton Anthology of English Literature: That time of year thou mayst in me behold When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang Upon those boughs which shake against the cold, Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang. Since its introduction in the 1530s, nearly every major British and American poet has made use of the form (Sonnet xxi). In Versification, James McAuley defines that the sonnet is, In the strict sense, a fourteen line poem usually in iambic pentameters. The Italian or petrachan type, consists of an octet, usually rhymed cdecde or in some permutation of these. The English sonnet type consists of three quatrains plus a concluding couplet, rhymed variously, the Shakespearian form being abab cdcd efef gg. In sixteenth and seventeenth century use, the term was also loosely applied to any lyric poem, especially a love poem, as in [John] Donne s (1572 1631) Songs and Sonnets (82). The sonnet, however, is not simply a fourteen line poem having a prescribed rhyme scheme. Certainly most sonnets are fourteen line poems, and most sonneteers do confine themselves to prescribed rhyme patterns (Bender and Squier xxii). The theme, in Sonnet 73, is the poet s aging. Each quatrain develops an image of lateness, of approaching extinction of a season, of a day, and of a fire, but they also apply to a life (Abrams et al. 867). The poet compares his age to three images through the quatrains: autumn, the dying of the year (first quatrain); the dying of the fire (third quatrain). The first line draws a picture of himself, in me, and in a certain time, That time of year, of his life (surely, he is old now). We can see that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mise En-Scene In Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window Alfred Hitchcock s thriller Rear Window (Hitchcock, 1954) begins with the immediate use of mise en scène in order to establish a sense of atmosphere, equilibrium and the mundane, soon to be disrupted as the events of the film unfold and are observed through the eyes of the voyeuristic protagonist, Jeff. Setting, cinematography and various other expressive mise en scène techniques work together to influence the overall appearance of the film. Though, by taking a closer look, these techniques reveal the significance of the narrative and characters. In the opening sequence, Hitchcock s original visual style provides signposts for the audience to recognize what will be significant in the future: instead of establishing what is only happening in the moment in time; mise en scène is used to suggest what is to come. This arrangement of the Classical Hollywood narrative starting with the setting and characters in a state equilibrium acts as a seemingly all purpose, archetypal opening by establishing location and introducing character. Simultaneously we can see that this sequence is vastly different from the rest of the film: it is leading the viewer into a false sense of security the calm before the storm as Jeff soon happens to piece together information leading to the possibility that one of his neighbors murdered their wife. As all the figures were recognizable and were portrayed in an explicit narrative made it even more difficult to be displayed alongside traditional paintings. The painting was rejected by the official French academy in 1863 because it left the salon jury outraged to how the woman is being shown in the nude with no shame at all. Although nude women had always been the subject of classical art the problem here was that she was being depicted as a normal human being. Her body posture seemed relaxed, by slouching it also creates folds on her stomach. • 33. Risks And Risk Response Strategies Having identified the risks and grouped them according to severity, the first trade off the manager has to make is the decision to forego managing the less severe risks and focus on those which pose the most severe threat to the project. More significant risk may include risks which require the entire redesign of the project, whereas less severe risk may include those which cause little or no material changes to the project. Since the less severe risks are likely to cause little or no material changes to the project and use less resources, it is reasonable to trade off these risks in favour of managing the more severe risks. On the other hand, these risks will remain and continue to pose a threat to the project, therefore they should be recorded in the risk register and dealt with as secondary risks. Risk response strategies should then be implemented to deal with both the severe and less severe risks which have been previously identified and analysed (Elkington Smallman, 2002). Hillson (2009) identifies four possible risk response strategies: avoidance; transfer; mitigation and acceptance. Risk avoidance involves completely eliminating the possibility of the risk. The simplest and most common method of avoiding the risk is removing it from the project deliverable. Another common way of avoiding risks is designing around them. Risk transfer involves giving the responsibility of the risk to someone or an organisation outside of the project. There are several ways ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The violent act of an unarmed black man being shot in the mouth and dragged to jail with no medical attention was also a concept still happening to this day. We should all take a lesson from this book and making sure we re integrated and were equal, were not corrupt, and not use violence as a way of disciplining ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Turing Red Flag By Toby Walsh Toby Walsh addresses a number of concerns that many will overlook when it comes to technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am sure there will be many who will be too fascinated by an AI inhibiting human behavior to worry about the consequences. As some may argue, we re just not at that point yet for many to care. However, as we get closer I do believe that the Turing Red Flag would benefit society as whole but not for all the reasons Walsh discusses. First, I agree that self driven vehicles should clearly be identifiable to human drivers. It could serve for a number of purposes, similar to how student drivers are identifiable on the road. For instance, seeing a student driver may influence other drivers to be more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It makes sense considering how we currently do not have anything in place to safeguard us from issues that may arise in the future. I feel like it s a step in the right direction but it depends on how deep the law wants to go in regulating the use of AI. The basic concept of the law seems fine, though. For example, going back to autonomous cars and how they should be identifiable to human drivers, it should be something subtle like what Walsh said, a distinct license plate. It definitely should not have a flashing green light placed on top of the vehicle. Imagine a world of self driving cars all with flashing green lights. It s not only intrusive but it s also very distracting. If we had AI blatantly impersonating a celebrity, such as commentating the World Cup as Messi, we wouldn t it periodically inform us that he s a bot because as mentioned earlier, it would take away from the experience. It might create a new social norm where humans will themselves pretend to be AI and who knows what issues (if any) that will bring. In addition to requiring AI to properly introduce themselves, it should also indicate that it s collecting data. Thus, the basic concepts of the Turing Red Flag law should be sustainable while carrying numerous benefits and minimal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Key Factors That Led to Union Victory in the Civil War Essay The Civil War that took place in the United States from 1861 to 1865 could have easily swung either way at several points during the conflict. There is however several reasons that the North would emerge victorious from this bloody war that pit brother against brother. Some of the main contributing factors are superior industrial capabilities, more efficient logistical support, greater naval power, and a largely lopsided population in favor of the Union. Also one of the advantages the Union had was that of an experienced government, an advantage that very well might have been one of the greatest contributing factors to their success. The North began the war more prepared and better equipped than the South as their factories began to pour out brand new rifles and munitions at an impressive rate. As the war continued on the industrial capabilities of the North would prove to become one of the greatest contributing factors to their ability to sustain military operations. Tied directly into the industrial capabilities of the North is the economical superiority that they held over the South. The economy was the greatest Southern weakness; it was the North s greatest strength. The North was not only a huge farm but a sprawling factory as well (Kennedy, Cohen, and Bailey pg. 439). Wars are expensive, and in order to sustain military operations especially one that would drag on for four years money would become of great importance. The North was comprised of approximately 75% of the nation s wealth, and they were able to maintain their trade with Europe which kept the money, and weapons pouring in. The South s inability to raise money took its toll on the pocket books of the Southern States, and in turn would be one of the major contributing factors to their defeat. A lengthy war on the other hand favored the wealthier and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the ways how hedgehogs are alive is that they have a cellular structure and function, they reproduce, they use metabolism, they use homeostasis, they have a long line of heredity, they have evolved, and they use interdependence. • 42. The Attachment Theory The attachment theory is a theory by Bowlby that refers to the joint mutual relationship that babies experience and develop with their primary caregiver (Bowlby, 1982). This theory is not supported by research in various sceneries. However, even though the attachment theory began as an initiative, the clinical application to the daily clinical understanding of adult mental health complications has penned red behind the current available research. I believe that the theory can give valuable insight into both the developing nature of recognized psychiatric disorders as well as in the development of the therapeutic relationship in adults. The remaining data available so far suggest that attachment insecurity indeed serves as a risk factor. Secondly, on the other hand (Dozier et al, 1999) due to differences in attachment conceptualization and measurement on one side and in how psychiatric disorders are diagnosed, results across studies can readily be compared. This may in part explain some of the contradictory findings. Nevertheless, one broad generalisation is emerging on the basis of the distinction between seizure strategies that reduce and maximise attachment needs and behaviours (approximately corresponds with attachment preoccupation and dismissal respectively) (Dozier et al, 1999). Externalising psychopathology (which may involve misconduct behaviour, e.g. eating disorders) are to be associated with hypothesised (or something) strategies, while s psychopathology (e.g. depression, anxiety and plate line personality disorder) would transform with (or hyper active) associated strategies. As indicated above, this generalisation has not been consistently supported. Knowing what your body needs is important to weight management and can control overconsumption and under consumption of food. Weight management does not include fad diets that promote quick, temporary weight loss. Instead, it focuses on the long term results that are achieved through slow weight loss, followed by retention of an ideal body weight for age, sex, and height. Weight gain is so complicated, that there are so many variables out there to manipulate weight gain. However, the key factor is no other than an unbalanced diet. People nowadays take too much sugar and salt. They prefer oily food over steamed ones, and take fast food as regular meals. More and more people are beginning to inculcate processed food as a part of their daily life. Excessive intake of certain macronutrients like carbohydrates also contributes to weight gain. Thus, we must be careful with what we eat as our diet associates with the development of our health. It has been a mystery of all times that, even though most men eat more than women, they still gain less weight, but burns more fat. The answer lies within the biological differences between men and women. On average, women s total energy expenditure is around five to ten percent lower than men s (The Weight Watchers Research Department Article). In the other hand, difference in physical activities always causes men to be more active compared to women. Men too have higher metabolic rate, makes them to burn fat ... That being said, it is important for the public to be aware of the new threats involved in driving automated cars. A consumer interest in online vehicle security will push manufacturers to invest in better security systems to defend against hacker attacks. The vast majority of hackers are not looking to murder people. Most likely they seek to invade privacy, or exploit online services for financial gain. These people are looking to be a nuisance and possibly trying to harass particular individuals in the process. To look at the threat of vehicle hacking as a massively life threatening ... Personal connectivity to cars on the road has very high potential, and should continue to be explored, along with the appropriate security measures. One of the most blatant issues is that many of these electronic systems are too connected to each other. Hackers are able to exploit the weakness of one system, and then proceed to manipulate the much more critical ones, such as navigation assistance, phone connectivity, or steering in the most severe circumstances. Building It is inevitable that people will attempt to break into these systems for their own personal gain. We are dependent on security experts to come up with new ways to defend the public from hackers, and minimize exploitable weaknesses. This can be expensive, and is often neglected by vehicles manufactures. However, it is a necessary cost if interconnected vehicle systems are to be the norm. Researcher Peiter Zatko said, If we know that hacking will happen, then car manufacturers have an ethical obligation to implement preventative measures. Implementing such large scale connectivity is reminiscent of the beginnings of the internet in the 1990s.
