Persuasive Essay Homework
Have you ever heard a the bell go off signaling the end of the school day and you just want to get
home and relax, but you remember you have a ton of homework to do? This constantly happens to me
all the time. A lot times I get homework from multiple classes all in one day. Often after school I have
sports which already takes up enough time. Usually I get my assignments turned in on time, but to the
expense of spending time with friends or family. Sometimes when I get home and start doing my
homework I might struggle with the topic and there isn t a teacher there to help me, so I m left trying
to search for websites that might help me or ask my parents to help. Having homework on a daily
basis is causing problems for me, and I think incorporating time in the school day can really help in
solving this issue. There are many causes to this problem. First of all many teacher feel that they need
to give homework to see if a student understands the lesson they are on. I understand why teachers
give homework for this reason however there are many other ways of tracking a students
understanding of a lesson like giving daily warm up questions at the beginning of class. Another
reason for homework is there isn t enough dedicated time to do work at school. Teachers use
homework to use for students grades. There are many reasons for students receiving homework, but
receiving little to no homework could really be beneficial to students. Getting large amount of
homework has negatively affected me in many ways. In Is to Much Homework Bad For Kid s Health?
By Sandra Levy, it states communities who spend too much time on homework experience more
stress, physical health problems, a lack of balance in their lives, and alienation from society. I find that
homework causes me a lot of stress. Many days I find myself up late at night trying to complete
homework, and this causes a lot of stress. The next day when I go to school I m tired and get even
more stressed. When I spend time doing homework outside of school I spend less with family and
friends. I often have trouble with balancing homework, time with family, and athletics. To succeed in
the future you need to learn the skill of balancing things, but it s hard to learn it

The Importance Of Democracy In Colonial America
Language, like all else, changes over time. Nice used to mean foolish, and awful used to mean full of
awe. This too gives context to why when democracy, or rule by the people, is mentioned today, the
word does not have the same connotation as it did to the inhabitants of colonial North America.
Similarly, the democracy of the 1800s, colloquially known as the early republic period, was different
from democracy during the time of the revolution. The tradition in colonial Virginia, for instance, was
that democratic voting power only applied to the aristocratic members of the clergy. In New England,
only the property holding elect had a say in town decisions. This tradition of not quite equality in
democracy held through to revolutionary times. As Stanley N. Katz puts it, Indeed, during most of
American history, framers of constitutions, lawmakers, and judges avoided committing the nation to
the protection of individual equality. Because of the strength of majorities, laissez faire economic
policy, and an increase in opportunity, democracy replaced tradition as the provider of political power
during the early republic in the northern United States.
White males gained universal suffrage because of their numbers, breaking the aristocratic property
based tradition. In the earliest days of the United States, most state constitutions adopted the same
voting eligibility as were established in the colonies and in Britain: ownership of property. The
justification for this,

Integrative Approach In Anthropology
Archaeology and the subdivision of bioarchaeology have played a profound role in our knowledge and
understanding of past and modern populations. Through the analyses of human skeletal remains, the
broad field of anthropology provides remarkable insights into multiple aspects of human life.
Specifically, the field of bioarchaeology has contributed to our understanding of how environmental,
cultural, and biological factors have influenced death and survival in the archaeological record
(Martin, Harrod, Perez, 2013:1). Despite its immense contributions to the understanding of human
behaviour, anthropological techniques have faced a great deal of scrutiny when it comes to assessing
health and disease from human remains. Perhaps the greatest factor ... Show more content on

In order to develop an in depth understanding of each of the factors that contributed to the health and
well being of an individual, bioarchaeologists collaborate with researchers from multiple disciplines,
such as biology, epidemiology, and demography to assess the context of remains (Larsen, 2015:66).
This integrative approach ultimately allows for the consideration of a wide range of factors that may
have contributed to an individual s social history (Martin et al., 2013:60). In particular, this knowledge
is used to create an osteobiography of the sociocultural and biological factors that were experienced
by the individual throughout their lifetime (Lecture: Week 8). Through the use of this osteobiography,
bioarchaeologists can gain critical insights into the social and biological phenomena that may have
contributed to the presence of skeletal indicators, such as abnormal lesions, or stunted growth patterns
that are demonstrated in many past populations (Larsen, 2015:425). While growth or stature may be
interpreted simply as a result of genetic factors, bioarchaeologists integrate data from across several
different domains in order to determine whether stature, or height for age, is the result of biological or
environmental stressors, or a combination of both (Larsen, 2015:426). Rather than jumping to simple
conclusions, bioarchaeologists seek to develop an understanding of the broader connections between
health and contextualization in order to better understand why certain individuals are more susceptible
to disease and mortality than

The Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) Vaccine
Research proves that certain cervical cancers can be prevented by simply getting vaccinated against
the Human Papillomavirus (Shafer, Cates, Diehl, Hartmann, 2011). This virus is responsible for 99%
of the cervical cancers (Smith, 2008). The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most sexually
transmitted disease in the world (Nath Thappa, 2009). Four main strains of HPV exists, 6,11,16 and 18
(Smith, 2008). HPV strains 16 and 18 are the causative factors for 70% of the cervical cancers (Smith,
2008). HPV strains 6 and 11 cause about 90% of genital warts (Smith, 2008). Without serious side
effects the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine is 100% effective in preventing the two HPV strains
that cause the largest percentages of cervical cancer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents have a safety concern , and do not want to give the HPV vaccine or any other vaccines for that
matter. The measles outbreak in California shows that there is an active anti vaccine group in the
United States at this time. Although The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) does acknowledge that all
vaccines have a potential for allergic reactions. The HPV vaccine has been only known to cause pain
at the injection site, fever, nausea and fainting ( HPV Vaccine Information for Clinicians Fact Sheet,
2015). The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) discusses the possibility of vaccines,
including the HPV vacines being associated with learning disabilities ( National Vaccine Information
Center Archives, n.d.). However, there is no proof to support that consensus, and there is medical
scientific evidence that disproves the false conceptions in regards to the safety of vaccines (Chatterjee
O Keefe, 2010).
Although some parents feel that mandating the HPV vaccine is a violation of their parental rights, it is
necessary for the greater good of public heath. Human Papillomavirus is the most sexual transmitted
infection, which makes this a public health problem, considering there are more than 6 million new
infections each year (Smith, 2008). Young women raging from 15 to 25 years of age are half of the
new HPV cases (Smith, 2008). Parents believe that their parental rights would be usurped

Essay on Ellen Moore in Korea
1. Conflicts Analysis
The troubled situation of JVC can be attributed to the major conflict between Ellen and Jack, causing
another aggravating conflict occurred consequently.
a. The major conflict was between Ellen Moore and Jack Kim, with the following symptoms:
They had controversial issues during the first few weeks because they were clearly stepping upon each
other s territory . Ellen understood that she was the co project manager with Jack, but Jack believed
that he was the sole project manager for SI. In fact, the Korean team members always followed Jack s
instructions which are different from Ellen s. Even, Jack got angry when, upon coming back from
business trip, he saw that the team members just followed Ellen s ... Show more content on

b. The aggravating conflict was between American top management (represented by Andrew) and
Korean top management (represented by Mr. Song) in solving the situation. Both believed that what it
wants is incompatible with what the other want (mutually exclusive). The American side blamed
Korean consultants lack of experience for the problem of behind the deadline, while the Korean side
blamed Ellen s capabilities. This conflict was also a dysfunctional conflict as it harmed the company s
harmony and business. If the management could not find a solution to solve conflict, the company
would fail to meet the deadline, which might totally kill the company s reputation.
* Here, the company did not have an appropriate conflict control and solving system. When conflicts
happened, instead of making prompt and suitable conflicts solving actions, the top management came
into another conflict. Even they were facing the probability that an inter group warfare will occur
between the American side and the Korean side.
2. Suggestion to Solve the Conflict between Ellen and Jack
To solve the conflict between Ellen and Jack, Andrew and Mr. Park (or even Mr. Song) should play
the role of mediators. As the mediators, they could do the following:
Firstly, the mediators should listen to each person s side of story. The purpose is

Analytical analysis and comparism of an everyday text with...
Choose one every day and one literary text. Using at least two analytical techniques from E301,
analyze and compare your two texts in terms of their creativity and literariness, drawing on material
from both parts of the module.
In this paper I will analyze and compare a literary text and an everyday text, in terms of their
creativity and literariness. I chose Philip Larkin s (1964) poem, Self s the man (see Appendix, Text 1),
as the literary text for analysis because it is not only smooth and pleasing to the eye and mind that it
seems effortless to read and contain within one s self but also because it arouses so many emotions
which makes it ideal for analysis. In Self s the man Larkin (1964), is being cynical towards
relationships ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my analysis, I will first apply Jakobson s (1960) methodology, stylistics approach and Carter s
(1997) criteria of literariness to the two texts and then contrast them with illustrations in terms of
interpretative schemata. My intention in doing so is to highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses
of these approaches and also modes in which they interact to better comprehend the nature of
creativity and literariness.
On the graphological level, in Text 1, the noticeable attributes are the traditional lineation, stanza
divisions of poetry, and the presence of standard punctuation. The poem has 8 stanzas in all and each
stanza consists of 4 lines. This creates a set rhythmic pattern, particularly in conjunction with the
rhyme scheme. Text 2, on the other hand, on a graphic level, uses full capitalization in order to
emphasize every letter in the ad and make it look trim and tidy. The headline uses larger, capital and
bold letters to draw readers attention and make them curious about what the advertisement mainly has
to say, leading them to continue on reading unconsciously by arousing their curiosity and desire to
know more about the product and subsequently persuading them to buy it. Moreover, Text 2,
illustrates graphological deviation, by using solid background colors, and a brilliant diamond ring to
focus all the reader s attention to.
On the phonic level, Text 1 has little

How Does Mark Twain Use Humour In The Adventures Of...
Mark Twain who s real name is Sir Langhorn Clemens is one of the best loved writers of America.
Twain s appeal to the readers is based on various factors. Some see in his humour the explanation for
his great popularity. Others feel that it is the least of his attractive features and he is more certain of
remembrance as a great novelist than as a humourist and satirist. Despite all these conceptual dilly
dallying there is an understanding between him and his public. That s why he continues to have an
almost seductive charm for his readers. The reasons for his success are sentimental. America always
sees him with real affection, as the first of her writers to draw from the American soil, the material for

Egg Baby Activity Research Paper
The egg baby activity was an activity I particularly enjoyed doing in my college career. I am actually
familiar with the care taking process for my egg, since I was assigned this type of project before while
I was in high school; the only difference was that I had a partner for this experience. So to explain the
process for caring for my baby was fairly simple, my partner, Lily, had a schedule that was the
opposite of mine and we would switch off caring for the baby evenly. She had the baby one day and I
would have him the next. Having to switch off between days primarily reminded me of how actual
couples would have to raise children due to custody cases, in which some are not as lenient as
switching off between parents like it was for this project. So the challenging part of this activity ...

I was extremely concerned that she could potentially drop, or break the egg during the days she had
the egg. I do not believe I was highly concerned about that, but I was more concerned that she could
have dropped the egg and decided to replace it. The reason why that bothered me was because the lack
of honesty. I believe that parents should be truthful throughout the entire process of raising a child,
specifically when a parent believes they made a mistake in the upbringing process and do not want to
inform the other parent that they were wrong. A good example of this could be discipline, one parent
may not fully agree with spanking, while the other might, and with the child in the custody of the
parent, who believes in spanking, may spank the child. Then when the parent who does not believe in
spankings receives the child finds out that the child was disciplined in that manner could result in

Premarital Sex And Its Effects
In a study conducted in the United States, 61 percent of men and 12 percent of women born prior to
1910 admitted to having premarital sex; the gender disparity may have been caused by cultural double
standards regarding the admission of sexual activity. Starting in the 1920s, and especially after World
War II, premarital sex became more common; this was especially prevalent among women. By the end
of the 20th century, between 75 and 80 percent of Americans had sex before the age of 19. During the
colonial period, premarital sex was publicly frowned upon but privately condoned to an extent. Even
though premarital sex was somewhat condoned, having a child outside of wedlock was not. If a
pregnancy resulted from premarital sex, the young couple were expected to marry. Beginning in the
1950s, as premarital sex became more common, the stigma attached to it lessened for many people.
Love began to become enough for a reason to practice sex, instead of marriage or engagement in the
eyes of many. The percentage of ever married men and women who had premarital sex (20 44 years
old) between 2006 and 2010 is 90.6% men and 86% women (www.cdc.gov). A new study of 38.000
Americans has found that 95% had premarital sex (www.truthdig.com). Another statistic says that 3%
of the US population, represents nearly 10.000.000 person, wait until marriage. These 3% wait to

Maya Angelou s Influence
Maya Angelou is terrific performer, singer, filmmaker, and civil rights activist. She is a phenomenal
woman, one thing that she does best is writing. She is still living today, I believe her legend will never
die. If one would talk to her, he or she would think she has lead a normal, happy life. Her life is
blissful now, it was not always perfect. Maya beard enough emotional stress in a time frame that most
people do not experience in a lifetime. Her experiences and the lessons learned encouraged her to help

Maya Angelou was inspired to read by several amazing authors and an educated Black woman. She
read books by Langston Hughes, W. E. B. Du Bois, and Paul Lawrence Dunbar . . (Poetry Foundation,

writers at home, Angelou read and fell in love with the works of William Shakespeare, Charles
Dickens, and Edgar Allan Poe. (Poetry Foundation, 2008). Mrs. Flower s was someone who also once
played a wonderful role in her life. She was the person whom was able to get Maya to speak again
when she was young. Mrs. Flowers was a charming gentlewoman who was an aristocrat in the small
town of Black Stamps. She would give Maya books to take home, and she would tell her to read the
books aloud. She explained the importance of education, importance of the spoken word, and instilled
in her a love of poetry. (Poetry Foundation, 2008). Maya became so interested in writing that she

Comparing Maggie And Milly And Molly And May By Ee Cummings
Poetry is one of the most diverse and inquisitive forms of literacy; there are several types of poetry
such as free verse, cacophony, or ballads. The poems we studied in class were lyric, rhyme verse, and
a couplet. These poems were by E. E. Cummings, Emily Dickinson, and Langston Hughes. Although
each piece of literacy was different, they all had an upbeat rhythm; each poem was congenial. My
favorite poem to read was maggie and milly and molly and may by E. E. Cummings, the couplet style
poem. The poem goes against all rules in the writing world; Cummings uses broken syntax, self
created compound words, decapitalization, and unusual forms of punctuation. This poem seems very
innocent and free. Maggie finds a sweet singing shell, Milly

An Analysis in the Caltech Rationale
In the analysis of the events and inspirations in my life that led to my decision on where to attend
college, I view the motif of puzzles and games of logic stemming from my infancy into the current
day as a major component of the reason I picked Caltech over Penn, the final two colleges in
narrowing down my college search. Caltech, a very small school of 235 students per grade represented
hardcore academics with an infamously difficult core curriculum, focused mainly in pure and applied
math and sciences, went at odds with the University of Pennsylvania s class size of 2400, representing
a school more renowned for its Wharton School of Business than its sciences and for the college and
social experiences, as it s widely known as the Social Ivy. The decision between these two extremes
an Ivy League prestige and a fun four years versus academic rigor and a strenuous undergraduate
experience filled with all nighters represents a microcosm of my values as the amalgamation of my
past experiences, which, due to the motif of puzzles, contributed to my personal convictions for (1) the
study of some form of mathematics, possibly consolidated with real life applications, and (2) my
personal philosophy of striving for knowledge and being at the top of my field, no matter the sacrifice.
As a toddler, I loved to sit with my grandma and work for hours on jigsaw puzzles of increasing
difficulty, as the pictures got bigger and the pieces got smaller. This led to my appreciation of

The Black Panther Party By Jessica C. Harris
This article takes an inside and out investigation of The Black Panther Party as a particular illustration
for progressive patriotism and breaks down altogether the positive commitments they made and in
addition the negative parts of the gathering. Jessica C. Harris, who was fixated on the historical
backdrop of the organization, did research and composed the paper. This exhert (pages from 409 421)
is from The Journal of Negro History, Volume 86, No. 3. (Summer, 2001). The entire paper epitomizes
the writer s wide extension, impeccable written work abilities and clear rationale in breaking down a
questionable point.
Black Nationalism is a belief system that goes for freeing African americans from mistreatment and
setting up self determination for the black comunity. Harris touches on Classical Black Nationalism
and Contemporary Black Nationalism. Traditional Black Nationalism is essentially as slave rebellions.
Be that as it may, Contemporary Black Nationalism can be partitioned into four sections: instructive,
religious, social and also progressive patriotism. The Black Panther Party, a standout amongst the
most well known progressive patriot associations, held the conviction that the administration around
then should have been be changed to meet the requests for the black community. Under the
comprehension of a communist point of view , two youthful black activists, Bobby Seale and Huey P.

Video Game Reduces Social Anxiety
Video Game Reduces Social Anxiety Whether it is in a real world or cyber space, meeting people
seems to be an almost inevitable part of modern daily life. Meeting or interacting with new people can
be stressful. When people encounter a stranger, they try to avoid or reduce it by getting as much
information as possible in the course of the conversation or interaction. There is an average of two
gamers in each game playing U.S household as shown in the research of ESA Entertainment Software
Association (2013). According to ESA s Effective Facts, over 50% of Americans are playing video

The Seventh Symphony s Four Movements Of The Seventh Symphony
The Seventh Symphony has four movements:
I. Poco sostenuto Vivace ( A major)
II. Allegretto (A minor)
III. Presto Assai meno presto (trio) (F major)
IV. Allegro con brio (A major)
Some general characteristics of this symphony are: The turbulent joy and dynamism, rhythmic
audacity full of vigor and novelty, evolved and complex harmony, the emancipation of orchestral
timbres (especially the prominent role of wind instruments).
The first Movement: Poco sostenuto Vivace (A major): It s in sonata form. A slow introduction of
large dimensions, precedes the first time, which fixes the luminous and rustic nature of the work.
There are contrasts of timbres and abrupt harmonic modulations. This movement have confusing wave
of ascending scales, with the usual preparatory character, from which emerges only a beautiful melody
of the oboe, a kind of slow march in C major , which could be described as idyllic if the virtue of
rhythm did not exist. . The dominant tone is hammered repeatedly, first with equal rhythmic values,
then almost standing out one note to the other, the jumping division of the rhythm is in compound
double.
Theme A of the sonata is rhythmically clear and is initially exposed by the flute, whereas theme B is
somewhat diffuse in its melodic profile. It is a structurally very complex movement.
2º. Movement: Allegretto. (A minor): This movement has extended lied form and variations. The
texture of this movement is homophonic and it have a simple and compound

The History of the Hard-Boiled Detective Essay
There are many sub genres of detective fiction and hard boiled fiction is one of them. What exactly is
hard boiled detective fiction? Hard Boiled detective fiction is fiction that features tough, cynical,
urban private eyes who expose corruption and frequently get injured in the course of their
investigations ( Detective Fiction, Literary). Hard Boiled fiction is considered one of the more popular
sub genres of detective fiction; there have been numerous films and novels about urban detectives
exposing corruption in the police force and in politics. The author credited with inventing the first
successful hard boiled story is Carroll John Daly. His character, Terry Mack, was quick to fight, was

Poe s story set the basic plot for detective stories of that time. A crime, usually murder, is committed; a
detective investigates the crime; a number of suspects are considered; the guilty party is discovered
and imprisoned, killed, or allowed to escape at the conclusion (Detective Fiction, 1 Twentieth
Century). The detective story was originally a competition between the reader and the writer. It was a
game intended to challenge the intellect and stimulate though. The reader is challenged by the writer
to attempt to solve the mystery with the clues provided. In the final pages of the story the reader
would learn if their solution matched that of the detective (Herbert and Hillerman 3 4). Detective
stories continued to be this intellectual challenge between reader and writer for many years until the
hard boiled genre emerged. The first hard boiled detective was Terry Mack, who first appeared in
Black Mask magazine in 1923 (Marling). This detective was quick to fight and less on an intellectual
than Auguste Dupin. He battled corrupt policemen and gangsters and almost always became injured in
the process. Hard Boiled detective fiction brought the complexity of the story down and added a
greater sense of adventure to the novels. This attracted many readers and caused the sub genre to take
off like a rocket (Marling). Hard Boiled fiction reached its peak in the 1930s and the 1940s. It
reflected the pressures of the Depression and World War II. Its villains

Dna With Natural Catalysts
The approach described above is novel and original because we are integrating the high level of
programmability of DNA with natural catalysts, which are very significant to progress in many
different scientific fields. Such integration enables coupling of enzymes to circuits that are capable of
decision making and self regulation, leading to an unprecedented level of control of catalytic
reactions. To achieve our objectives, we will develop methods to systematically design, model and test
both dynamic and structural components. We will also create software and mathematical tools that can
predict the dynamic behavior of individual catalytic modules and multi modular circuits.
When compared to existing techniques and protocols for multi enzyme reactions, our system has
multiple advantages: (1) Multi enzyme reactions typically require laborious purification after each
step and this can also result in loss of valuable sample. By sequestering enzymes within a crystal and

Compare And Contrast Othello Play And Movie
Shakespeare was somewhat difficult for me and was probably for most high school students. Many
high school students will study some form of Shakespeare, play or sonnet in high school English. A lot
of students don t know anything about him, so it wouldn t hurt to teach them about Shakespeare.
Adaptations are m because they can take something original and make changes so that can be better
understand. In this essay, I will compare and contrast characters and settings from the graphic novel
and the movie O , to help decide which adaptation is better for high school students.
In the graphic novel, Othello is somewhat similar to O know as Odin who basically is Othello in the
movie. The novel, Othello is the general, a leader to Venice. He has ... Show more content on

This makes him jealous because the garden is a romantic place.
Another critical similarity in setting in both adaptations is Desdemona s/Desi s bedroom. Both
adaptations use Desdemona s bedroom as the place where Othello takes Desdemona s/Desi s life
because he was angry and jealous believing Iago s lies that she cheated on him. Iago/ Hugo also kills
his wife/girlfriend, Emilia/Emily in the same bedroom because she started telling Othello/O the truth
about Iago s/Hugo s dishonesty. Desdemona s bedroom is an important place because it shows the
love they have for each other. The bedroom is supposed to be a place where they show an intimacy
and feel comfortable, but both couples turn it into a place of death, sadness, and regret. At the same
time, the setting was very different from both the movie and novel. In the graphic novel, it took place
in Venice then moved to Cyprus. In the movie, their school was like Venice but then moved to the
basketball court that was supposed to be Cyprus for war . Also, in the graphic novel mostly the entire
story took place at the palace where Othello lived. It changed from time to time but the story was
mostly in the palace. In the movie, the setting changed all the time. First, it was at the basketball court,
then at school, later at someone was house, or the team s locker

Chromium Plating Research Paper
Due to the industrial restrictions in place across some the main areas of the world under health and
safety regulations, finding an alternative plating process to the current hexavalent chromium process
has become a real necessity. Trivalent chromium has proved to be a suitable replacement due to being
less toxic, both health wise and environmentally, whilst also demonstrating almost identical metal
finishes to those of the hexavalent chromium deposits. However, the trivalent chromium chemical
process is not without its difficulties, such as the inertness of the Cr3+ ions to be reduced to their
metallic state, or the initial inferiority of the metal deposits physical properties in comparison to the
deposits attained from conventional techniques. In order to overcome these issues multiple approaches
have been investigated.
It has been found that the use of complexing agents in the trivalent chromium electrolyte solution
work to generate stable complexes with Cr3+ through ligand exchange which are then easily reducible
to metallic chromium. Not only does this now allow chromium deposition to take place, but it also
improves the current efficiency of the electrodeposit. The process of co depositing chromium as an
alloy with other metals has shown to enhance the physical and chemical properties of the metal as
opposed to individual electrodepositions; an ability that is unattainable for hexavalent chromium,
giving an immediate advantage. In addition, the outcome of

The Cross Cultural Communication Issues
On the whole, this paper will identify four other major possible cross cultural issues as analysed
below.
First, the cross cultural communication issue may arise and there are mainly 3 factors contributing to
the communication barriers in such case.
For starters, the factor of culture difference (Moslehpour et al. 2016) present itself. As given in the
case study, both of the SSSL executives and Saran are all from India, but the target Qatari market and
the people, including both Sheikhs and host country nationals, that they have to deal with, share the
Islamic culture or Arab culture, which distinctly differ from India s religious belief Hinduism or
Buddhism culture.
In the next place, the factor of perception difference and experience difference (Beeber et al. 2014)
may occur as a result of culture differences. Since culture can influence the way people perceive
things and usually lead to diverse life events among individuals (Nisbett and Miyamoto 2005), people
from Qatar and India may have different solutions and reactions to the same problem in the future. At
the minimum, conflicts or stereotyping may occur among the host country nationals and expatriates; at
the maximum, the major decisions regarding the development and future direction of this partnership
business for both sides chief executives may go separate ways.
All three major differences outlined above interactively influence the cross cultural communication
process by creating noise (Francesco and

The Effects Of Socialization In The Lost Boys Of Africa
Every being in their lives will experience the effects of socialization throughout their lives, and the
Lost Boys of Africa are no exception. In anything, the Lost Boys, in some ways, may have been
exposed to a greater number of sociological constructs than most American children their age. From
the effects of dependency theory, to ethnic discrimination and prejudice that began in their homeland
of Sudan and followed them to the United States, and experiencing problems with assimilation, these
boys have truly showed effects of socialization. Perhaps the first sociological construct demonstrated
in the film was the effects of Dependency Theory. Much of Africa has a history of being colonized by
Europe at some point in its history, and in the case of Sudan, it was largely under British control.
Under British rule, Sudan was essentially divided into Northern and Southern regions. While the
North continued to practice its traditions and language, Christianity and the English language began to
spread throughout the South. When the British left Sudan, the superpower attempted to prepare the
country for self government by establishing a parliament. The problem was that this new government
was established predominantly in the North with little representation of Southern Sudan. After the
British left, years of conflict quickly arose and eventually lead to civil war. According to the conflict
theory of dependency, Sudan was taken advantage of, then eventually left on its own. One

Onna Daigaku Women
Women during the Tokugawa period were expected to be good Confucian wives and were restricted in
many aspects of their life. Although multiple expectations were bent in real life situations. In Onna
Daigaku, Kaibara Ekiken writes on how a woman should and should not act in public. He also writes
several different reasons why a woman should be divorced. This primary source is important in
understanding what was expected out of women during this period and helps us apply it to other
readings. An example of how one can apply the Onna Daigaku to The Doctor s Wife is the way Otsugi
acts repeatedly throughout the book. The Onna Daigaku states The five worst infirmities that afflict
the female are indocility, discontent, slander, jealously, and silliness. One of the bigger issues that
Otsugi has in becoming a good Confucian wife is that she bears a lot of jealousy and discontent with
her daughter in law Kae. At first, Otsugi was pleasant towards Kae and even stated how the two must
have been mother and daughter in a past life; but once Seishu comes back from Kyoto, Otsugi
becomes very critical of Kae and does not allow the daughter in law near her precious son. Also, the
reader gets an underlying sexual vibe from Otsugi towards her son. But whenever Seishu pinched his
wife s thigh to test the anesthetic, feelings of jealously raged within her and, at these moments she
hated Kae sufficiently to wish for her death. At one point of the book, Otsugi gets even more enraged

Communication And Language Have Evolved Since The Advent
Communication and language have evolved since the advent of the internet, but to what extent? How
does this advancement affect how humans relate to each other and handle conflict? The internet is
relatively new in human history, first developed by the government in the 1960 s to help backup
sensitive files, it was then quickly picked up by universities for databases and communications like
email. All along the internet s history, humans have been finding ways to utilize it to share information

of the internet on human interaction by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that humankind will always struggle with our primitive instinct for violence, and never be
able to shake our propensity towards conflict, and worst of all, war. With the inherent violent nature of
humans coupled with the confusion and misunderstandings created by internet communication, we are
heading down a worse path. I didn t grow up with the internet, so I remember a time in history when
all the conversations with friends were spoken in real time. These days, many conversations turn into
arguments because of miscommunication caused by conversing over the internet. According to Sherry
Turkle, when people are communicating face to face , it is necessary to keep an air of calmness and
respect towards the other person. You have to take your time and put effort into interacting (Turkle).
Nowadays, we are at a disadvantage from the lack of nuance of texting and social media.
We are shying away from in person, real time conversations due to the habitual use of technological
devices. We only show the world a persona of who we are and what we do through social media.
Author Peggy explains this best when she states, The risk of performance culture, of the packaged

humanity (253). She further makes her point, evidencing studies taken that measure a person s
empathy levels. These studies show human empathy to be declining (253). Empathy

Human Autoimmune Diseases
Abstract Immune system failure can cause many human autoimmune diseases which make body
produce antibodies in the blood which attack human antigens not foreign antigens and it can cause
many serious and chronic illnesses. This phenomenon results in an auto immune response which
generate the auto antibodies (ANAs) during this response. This auto antibodies (ANAs) may be
identified through the indirect immunofluorescence test (IIF). But unfortunately, today the IIF is still a

Then, check them under a fluorescence microscope after adding a fluorescence tag which binds to the

which are: homogeneous, fine speckled and coarse speckled, centromere, nuclear, cytoplasmic [6].
However, IIF is a subjective method in discovering immune diseases, it depends too seriously on the
experience of physicians and unfortunately the accuracy of inter laboratories agreement drops to 76%
for recognition of stained patterns which require more detailed diagnosis [7]. This drops is due to
many reasons like the Quantitative information which supplied to physicians are not enough, reading
from systems and optics are varying from each other, irradiation occurred through the photo bleaching
effect caused by the light [8] and the reproducibility of the diagnostic protocol is low [9]. In recent
years, for these reasons and more there has been increasing interest in employing various image
analysis techniques for classification of HEP 2 cells images. Many CAD systems which have been
proposed in this field are concerned with shape and morphological features [10 23]. Cordelli et al. [11]

The Impact Of Telehealth On The Areas Of Patient Care
Telehealth Telehealth is an innovative approach to health care that is rapidly expanding in all areas of
patient care. It has been shown to be cost effective and is rapidly being integrated into everyday
practices from clinics, hospitals, court systems, school systems and even the local drug store.
History
According to McGonigle and Mastrian (2009), in 1955, the Nebraska Psychiatric Institute began using
closed circuit television to provide routine distance education and teleconsultation between itself and a
remote state mental hospital. In 1965, cardiac surgeon Michael DeBakey performed open heart
surgery and transmitted the procedure live to a hospital in Genieva, allowing him to describe the
process and to answer questions. McGonigle and Mastrian also indicate NASA began using telehealth
in the 1960s and 70 s to monitor astronauts physical and mental health as well with much success.
Foreign use of telehealth.
The country of norway discovered using telehealth was highly beneficial because many parts of the
country are remote and access to care providers is limited Physicians did not want to leave the larger
cities therefore the use of telehealth for routine examinations and treatment became highly favored
within the country (McGonigle and Mastrian).

Building Elements Of A Successful Team
Proactive Planning
In meetings requested by managers, various agendas are discussed and explained. Of them, the plan to
establish self directed and high performance teams is spotlighted. The company needs to establish a
team that combines the different talent and work performance of its employees in order to accomplish
a particular goal and purpose. Concerns arise when some of the company s managers are experiencing
some teams that are self directed and high performing, while others are not. Therefore, discussions are
held which aim at familiarizing all employees with what it means to be self directed and high
performing.
In the process, they brainstorm on ideas like building elements of a successful team. If a manager has
not fulfilled the demand of having this type of team, they are focused on as needing more aid in
successfully moving forward towards the goal. At the time, those who are struggling are expected to
learn from those who are doing well in order for them to identify the mistakes and how to correct
them. In team building, through the help of leadership within the company, a team of people
collaborate and work together to achieve a common goal. (Midura Glover, 2005) In this case, leaders
are managers and they make decisions, clarify goals, build commitment practices and coach their
team. Team building is very important as it enhances collaboration. It also creates a greater likelihood
of commitment to the company by its employees and the overall communication

Critically assess the view that a concept of miracles is inconsistent with a belief in a benevolent God.
(35 marks)
Before one is able to debate the ideas of inconsistency surrounding miracles, we must define and
clarify what a miracle actually is. One definition is an event caused by God, this view is traditionally
supported by Christians and philosophers such as Aquinas. A second definition is a violation of the
laws of nature which is most commonly associated with David Hume. These two definitions usually
underlie the way in which people approach the question of God acting in the world, thus impacting
ones interpretation of miracles showing a benevolent God. Benevolence is used to describe God being
a good and loving God. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although this could have been down to a mis diagnoses which distorted the idea of a miracle
occurring. Overall, the inconsistencies with miracles present a biased God. Why would a benevolent
God only perform to people who visit Lourdes and not non believers ? Overall this shows God to not
be benevolent because the miracles he performs are inconsistent and biased.
Keith Ward stated that God is purposely inconsistent with miracles, and does not act within the world
often so he does not undermine our free will, thus presenting a transcendent God. In his book Divine
Action he stated that if God helps person X rather than person Y , it may be because person X has a
more potentially important role in the working out of the divine purpose then person Y . Therefore
God s inconsistency is deliberate and his actions are beyond our human understanding. This supports
the concept of God being benevolent as he performs miracles for the greater good of the people, he
can t save everyone, as this would undermine the significance of miracles, however he does intervene
when it will make a large impact in the bigger picture. However, Hawkins stated that a good theory is
one that is straight forward. Ward presents his argument based on a lot of assumptions. As Gods
actions and purpose in the world is beyond our understanding, it is impossible for us to understand the
significance and purpose of miracles. It is impossible for us to know what God s plan is. Who are we

Bread Produced with 100% Ontario Based Flour
In January, 2013 we began our experimental work by conducting detailed analysis of results of bread
produced with 100% Ontario based flour. Since direct application of Ontario based flour resulted in
excessive dryness, and reduced volume of bread, we decided to conduct series of semi industrial trials
in order to adapt our present formula to new flour chemical composition. The objective of our
investigation in this phase was to apply Ontario flour, and get the bread with the same moisture, and
volume as it is originally.
After this first attempt in January, 2013 we firstly tried to increase gluten structure. Gluten is additive
commonly used in bakery industry which primary function is to enhance gas retention capacity, water
absorption, and retention, as well as, increase dough strength. Initially, our formula contained 3 4 % of
gluten, and we tested formulas with up to 10% of gluten. Increasing of gluten did not give significant
results, and formulas with 10% of gluten had increase of volume of about 10%. We did not test
formulas with more than 10% of gluten because it is very expensive additive, and it is not
economically to apply it in higher concentrations.
After learning that gluten does not give expected results, our next step was increasing protein level by
introducing the balancing the flours. We decided to introduce harder wheat flours with higher
concentration of proteins. Average protein level of Ontario flour is 10.5%, while west flours contain

Chinese Parents Are More Successful Than Western Parents
On January 8, 2011, the Wall Street Journal published an article by Amy Chua called Why Chinese
Mothers Are Superior. In this article Chua argues that Chinese parents are more successful than
Western parents when it comes to academics and musical talent. In addition, she discusses three
differences between the two parental mindsets. First, western parents worry too much about their
children s self esteem. Second, Chinese parents believe their children owe them everything because
they brought them in this world. Third, Chinese parents believe they know what is best for their
children. Even though their mindsets are different, Chua believes that all decent parents want to do
what is best for their children. (Chua) From a Westerners perspective, the Chinese s harsh parenting
methods increases academic success and self esteem; however, their methods damage social skills.
Amy Chua s methods focus heavily on academic excellence. She enforces these methods by using
extremely strict discipline, involving insults, punishment, and threats. These methods appear harsh;
however, they are successful. In her article, she states Western parents will praise their child when
they receive an A or even a B, while Chinese parents become instantly angry if it is not an A. In fact,
Chinese mothers will do everything they can to improve their child s grade because they know they
are smarter than producing anything lower than an A. Parents do not realize telling children that they

of existence and clothing these conceptions with such an aura of factuality that they seem uniquely
realistic. Examples of this influence include the Islamic movement, the strong influence the Pope has
on the Catholic movement, and the impact the Pentecostal movement had on the US government. The
worldview contributes to the aspects of living, which include lifestyle, customs, thoughts,
philosophies, beliefs, and culture. These aspects seem to change with different generations causing
even greater conflict amongst interest groups in policymaking. Indeed, individuals in opposite factions
or groups may agree based on facts but sharply differ on conclusions simply because of their different
worldviews. A classic case of the worldviews influence is gay

Soc 101-Family Through Different Sociological Perspectives
Running Head: FAMILY THROUGH DIFFERENT SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES
Family Through Different Sociological Perspectives
Stephani Marlow
SOC 101
Instructor Marian Spaid Ross
Jan 15th, 2012
All families are unique. A few decades ago, the most common type of family was the mother and
father living with their unmarried children. Today, families are vastly different including more single
parent households than ever before, stepfamilies, and adopted families, and grandparents raising their
grandchildren, as well as young married couples having to move back in with their parents because
they do not have the money to afford their own living arrangements yet. Whatever type of family you
have there are different perspectives in which to view it, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fifth function families perform is Affection and Companionship. In an ideal and perfect situation,
the family provides it s kin with a caring environment and close, trusting relationships which in turn
make the family members feel secure, safe, and happy. Although, way to often, individuals view their
family home as unhappy and or abusive. Still, family members expect their kin to care for them, be
understanding, and to be supportive to them in a time of crisis. An example would be with my own
mother, when last week, although she has barely spoken to her mother or other family members in five
months, she told me that if she had a big problem she would go to her mother because she knows that
her mother would give the best advice. Families, no matter what may tear them apart they will almost
always find their way back together. Although individuals may find family like friendships and
relationships at school or at work the basic family unit is still almost always the tighter group. The
sixth and final main function a family provides is Provision of Social Status. Every baby, when they
are born have come into an ascribed status based on their family s reputation and background, as well
as the reputation of any siblings. For example, children that are close together in age will attend high
school one right after the other and the teachers will likely already have an idea of what the younger

Description of the population, discerning accessible and target populations. My research study is to
determine whether the application of universal MRSA surveillance screening in a non ICU in acute
care setting will result to decreased risk of infection in the hospital patient. eligibility criteria including
inclusion and exclusion criteria; MRSA screening will be eligible or conducted on patients admitted in
telemetry/medical surgical unit. Patient must be 18 years old and above to be included in the study. All
patients who were previously identified as MRSA carriers or having a history of MRSA infection, and
patients who are admitted for 24 hour observation, as well as same day surgery will be excluded from
the study. discussion of sampling bias; There is a high risk bias due to study limitations and source of
population. MRSA screening will only be conducted on patients with greater than 48 hours estimated
length of stay, below 18 years old, and patients who have a history of MRSA. Missed opportunity for
more extensive data due to the exclusions of other patients admitted in the telemetry/medical surgical
unit. sampling design (probability versus nonprobability); I used a nonprobability design, because it
does not involve random selection method. I am using the consecutive sampling, which involves
recruiting all of the people from an accessible population who meet the eligibility criteria over a

Jonas Lie In The Giver
Before Jonas met The Giver, he believed that the society he lived in was a good place.
(SIP A) Jonas once agreed with society s rules and followed them.
(STEWE 1) He had never, within his memory, been tempted to lie. [Lowry 71] In this quote, Jonas
says that he has never even been tempted to lie when he received his instructions for receiver of
memory. He was also terrified that other people were lying to him, and this shows that he has never
lied about anything before.
(STEWE 2) He was quite certain he would never take advantage of [being rude]. [Lowry 69] This is
from when Jonas was reading his instructions for receiver of memory. This shows that Jonas has never
been rude and he never will.

Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital...
There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital
satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings
of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other symptoms
including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods
such as affective self reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but
depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the
socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals influence one
another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will
spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can
negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content
with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and
cognitive self report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be
contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a
person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and
cognitive self report measures. Research shows that there is correlation between marital dissatisfaction

Essay about Comparison of Japanese and American Cultures
COMPARISON OF JAPANESE AND AMERICAN CULTURES
As Mahatma Gandhi said, No culture can live, if it attempts to be exclusive (Mahatma). Our culture
identifies who we are and how we behave in social environments and provides us with a foundation in
which to live our lives and raise our families. Each individual culture has certain customs and
courtesies that are important. Exposure to the cultures of others can be intimidating and can leave a
person feeling confused and unsure about how they fit in (Schaefer 60). Culture shock can leave a
person feeling out of place in an unfamiliar culture (Schaefer 60). Our diverse societies demand
understanding and acceptance of other cultures. Learning and understanding these cultures before

Visits are generally arranged in advance and are very rarely spontaneous (Japan). When someone
comes for a visit they must remove their shoes in the entry area of the home and place them together,
pointing toward the outdoors; slippers are usually worn while inside (Japan). It is also customary to
remove your coat prior to stepping into the entry area (Japan). Guests are usually modest and reserved
when they are visiting and will be offered the most comfortable seat in the home (Japan). When
offered a meal it is customary for the guest to hesitate slightly before accepting it and will then accept
with gratitude (Japan). Guests do not usually offer compliments on household items, as this may
embarrass the host (Japan). It is customary to bring fruit or cake to offer as a gift for the host which is
given and accepted with both hands and a slight bow (Japan). It is considered rude for a host to open a
gift from a visitor at the time it is given (Japan).
Many of the customs followed by Americans come from the upbringing of the individual. As adults,
Americans may form their own special customs that will be unique for their family. The greetings and
visiting customs may vary from family to family, but generally most Americans have a simplistic
approach. American greetings are generally informal. Men and women greet each other with a smile
and a firm handshake (United States). Close friends and relatives will welcome each other with a hug

Legend Of Newton Research Paper
Have you ever heard the legend about Newton and how he discovered gravity? Legend has it young
Newton was sitting under an apple tree and all of a sudden he gets hit on the head apple. This legend
is supposedly the real reason how the laws of gravity were created but it s not all true. The real story
which was told by Isaac himself is, he was barely looking out the window when he happened to see
the fruit drop. Even then, some Newton scholars think the story involving the apples was made up.
Newton wasn t always such a serious guy. He was a weirdo. He purposefully stuck a needle in his eye
socket. The reason for him sticking a needle was that he was experimenting with the properties of
light and used himself as a guinea pig. James Gleick the author of Newton s biography released in
2003, said that Newton did this because people at the time were not really sure whether the eyes were
responsible for collecting light or creating it and Newton wanted to find that out. ... Show more

Newton himself said, Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the
planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done. He believed God was
the creator of the universe and everything living. Newton had an obsession with the Bible. Getting
back to his obsession with the Bible, it s worth mentioning that Isaac went to the extent of learning
Hebrew. He wanted to find out the hidden meanings instead of working on science all the time.
Newton thought he was a big time sinner. He studied the Bible at great depths and wrote more on
religion than about science or mathematics. He actually wrote a list of 48 sins, he committed, which
includes punching his sister, being rude to his mother and sister ,

  • 3. Persuasive Essay Homework Have you ever heard a the bell go off signaling the end of the school day and you just want to get home and relax, but you remember you have a ton of homework to do? This constantly happens to me all the time. A lot times I get homework from multiple classes all in one day. Often after school I have sports which already takes up enough time. Usually I get my assignments turned in on time, but to the expense of spending time with friends or family. Sometimes when I get home and start doing my homework I might struggle with the topic and there isn t a teacher there to help me, so I m left trying to search for websites that might help me or ask my parents to help. Having homework on a daily basis is causing problems for me, and I think incorporating time in the school day can really help in solving this issue. There are many causes to this problem. First of all many teacher feel that they need to give homework to see if a student understands the lesson they are on. I understand why teachers give homework for this reason however there are many other ways of tracking a students understanding of a lesson like giving daily warm up questions at the beginning of class. Another reason for homework is there isn t enough dedicated time to do work at school. Teachers use homework to use for students grades. There are many reasons for students receiving homework, but receiving little to no homework could really be beneficial to students. Getting large amount of homework has negatively affected me in many ways. In Is to Much Homework Bad For Kid s Health? By Sandra Levy, it states communities who spend too much time on homework experience more stress, physical health problems, a lack of balance in their lives, and alienation from society. I find that homework causes me a lot of stress. Many days I find myself up late at night trying to complete homework, and this causes a lot of stress. The next day when I go to school I m tired and get even more stressed. When I spend time doing homework outside of school I spend less with family and friends. I often have trouble with balancing homework, time with family, and athletics. To succeed in the future you need to learn the skill of balancing things, but it s hard to learn it ... • 4. The Importance Of Democracy In Colonial America Language, like all else, changes over time. Nice used to mean foolish, and awful used to mean full of awe. This too gives context to why when democracy, or rule by the people, is mentioned today, the word does not have the same connotation as it did to the inhabitants of colonial North America. Similarly, the democracy of the 1800s, colloquially known as the early republic period, was different from democracy during the time of the revolution. The tradition in colonial Virginia, for instance, was that democratic voting power only applied to the aristocratic members of the clergy. In New England, only the property holding elect had a say in town decisions. This tradition of not quite equality in democracy held through to revolutionary times. As Stanley N. Katz puts it, Indeed, during most of American history, framers of constitutions, lawmakers, and judges avoided committing the nation to the protection of individual equality. Because of the strength of majorities, laissez faire economic policy, and an increase in opportunity, democracy replaced tradition as the provider of political power during the early republic in the northern United States. White males gained universal suffrage because of their numbers, breaking the aristocratic property based tradition. In the earliest days of the United States, most state constitutions adopted the same voting eligibility as were established in the colonies and in Britain: ownership of property. The justification for this, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Integrative Approach In Anthropology Archaeology and the subdivision of bioarchaeology have played a profound role in our knowledge and understanding of past and modern populations. Through the analyses of human skeletal remains, the broad field of anthropology provides remarkable insights into multiple aspects of human life. Specifically, the field of bioarchaeology has contributed to our understanding of how environmental, cultural, and biological factors have influenced death and survival in the archaeological record (Martin, Harrod, Perez, 2013:1). Despite its immense contributions to the understanding of human behaviour, anthropological techniques have faced a great deal of scrutiny when it comes to assessing health and disease from human remains. Perhaps the greatest factor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to develop an in depth understanding of each of the factors that contributed to the health and well being of an individual, bioarchaeologists collaborate with researchers from multiple disciplines, such as biology, epidemiology, and demography to assess the context of remains (Larsen, 2015:66). This integrative approach ultimately allows for the consideration of a wide range of factors that may have contributed to an individual s social history (Martin et al., 2013:60). In particular, this knowledge is used to create an osteobiography of the sociocultural and biological factors that were experienced by the individual throughout their lifetime (Lecture: Week 8). Through the use of this osteobiography, bioarchaeologists can gain critical insights into the social and biological phenomena that may have contributed to the presence of skeletal indicators, such as abnormal lesions, or stunted growth patterns that are demonstrated in many past populations (Larsen, 2015:425). While growth or stature may be interpreted simply as a result of genetic factors, bioarchaeologists integrate data from across several different domains in order to determine whether stature, or height for age, is the result of biological or environmental stressors, or a combination of both (Larsen, 2015:426). Rather than jumping to simple conclusions, bioarchaeologists seek to develop an understanding of the broader connections between health and contextualization in order to better understand why certain individuals are more susceptible to disease and mortality than ... This virus is responsible for 99% of the cervical cancers (Smith, 2008). The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most sexually transmitted disease in the world (Nath Thappa, 2009). Four main strains of HPV exists, 6,11,16 and 18 (Smith, 2008). HPV strains 16 and 18 are the causative factors for 70% of the cervical cancers (Smith, 2008). HPV strains 6 and 11 cause about 90% of genital warts (Smith, 2008). The measles outbreak in California shows that there is an active anti vaccine group in the United States at this time. The HPV vaccine has been only known to cause pain at the injection site, fever, nausea and fainting ( HPV Vaccine Information for Clinicians Fact Sheet, 2015). The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) discusses the possibility of vaccines, including the HPV vacines being associated with learning disabilities ( National Vaccine Information Center Archives, n.d.). However, there is no proof to support that consensus, and there is medical scientific evidence that disproves the false conceptions in regards to the safety of vaccines (Chatterjee O Keefe, 2010). Although some parents feel that mandating the HPV vaccine is a violation of their parental rights, it is necessary for the greater good of public heath. Human Papillomavirus is the most sexual transmitted infection, which makes this a public health problem, considering there are more than 6 million new infections each year (Smith, 2008). This conflict was also a dysfunctional conflict as it harmed the company s harmony and business. If the management could not find a solution to solve conflict, the company would fail to meet the deadline, which might totally kill the company s reputation. * Here, the company did not have an appropriate conflict control and solving system. Using at least two analytical techniques from E301, analyze and compare your two texts in terms of their creativity and literariness, drawing on material from both parts of the module. In this paper I will analyze and compare a literary text and an everyday text, in terms of their creativity and literariness. I chose Philip Larkin s (1964) poem, Self s the man (see Appendix, Text 1), as the literary text for analysis because it is not only smooth and pleasing to the eye and mind that it seems effortless to read and contain within one s self but also because it arouses so many emotions which makes it ideal for analysis. In my analysis, I will first apply Jakobson s (1960) methodology, stylistics approach and Carter s (1997) criteria of literariness to the two texts and then contrast them with illustrations in terms of interpretative schemata. My intention in doing so is to highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses of these approaches and also modes in which they interact to better comprehend the nature of creativity and literariness. On the graphological level, in Text 1, the noticeable attributes are the traditional lineation, stanza divisions of poetry, and the presence of standard punctuation. The poem has 8 stanzas in all and each stanza consists of 4 lines. This creates a set rhythmic pattern, particularly in conjunction with the rhyme scheme. Text 2, on the other hand, on a graphic level, uses full capitalization in order to emphasize every letter in the ad and make it look trim and tidy. The headline uses larger, capital and bold letters to draw readers attention and make them curious about what the advertisement mainly has to say, leading them to continue on reading unconsciously by arousing their curiosity and desire to know more about the product and subsequently persuading them to buy it. Moreover, Text 2, illustrates graphological deviation, by using solid background colors, and a brilliant diamond ring to focus all the reader s attention to. On the phonic level, Text 1 has little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Twain s appeal to the readers is based on various factors. Some see in his humour the explanation for his great popularity. • 10. Egg Baby Activity Research Paper The egg baby activity was an activity I particularly enjoyed doing in my college career. I am actually familiar with the care taking process for my egg, since I was assigned this type of project before while I was in high school; the only difference was that I had a partner for this experience. So to explain the process for caring for my baby was fairly simple, my partner, Lily, had a schedule that was the opposite of mine and we would switch off caring for the baby evenly. She had the baby one day and I would have him the next. Having to switch off between days primarily reminded me of how actual couples would have to raise children due to custody cases, in which some are not as lenient as switching off between parents like it was for this project. I believe that parents should be truthful throughout the entire process of raising a child, specifically when a parent believes they made a mistake in the upbringing process and do not want to inform the other parent that they were wrong. A good example of this could be discipline, one parent may not fully agree with spanking, while the other might, and with the child in the custody of the parent, who believes in spanking, may spank the child. • 11. Premarital Sex And Its Effects In a study conducted in the United States, 61 percent of men and 12 percent of women born prior to 1910 admitted to having premarital sex; the gender disparity may have been caused by cultural double standards regarding the admission of sexual activity. Starting in the 1920s, and especially after World War II, premarital sex became more common; this was especially prevalent among women. By the end of the 20th century, between 75 and 80 percent of Americans had sex before the age of 19. During the colonial period, premarital sex was publicly frowned upon but privately condoned to an extent. Even though premarital sex was somewhat condoned, having a child outside of wedlock was not. If a pregnancy resulted from premarital sex, the young couple were expected to marry. Beginning in the 1950s, as premarital sex became more common, the stigma attached to it lessened for many people. Love began to become enough for a reason to practice sex, instead of marriage or engagement in the eyes of many. The percentage of ever married men and women who had premarital sex (20 44 years old) between 2006 and 2010 is 90.6% men and 86% women (www.cdc.gov). A new study of 38.000 Americans has found that 95% had premarital sex (www.truthdig.com). Although each piece of literacy was different, they all had an upbeat rhythm; each poem was congenial. My favorite poem to read was maggie and milly and molly and may by E. E. • 14. An Analysis in the Caltech Rationale In the analysis of the events and inspirations in my life that led to my decision on where to attend college, I view the motif of puzzles and games of logic stemming from my infancy into the current day as a major component of the reason I picked Caltech over Penn, the final two colleges in narrowing down my college search. Caltech, a very small school of 235 students per grade represented hardcore academics with an infamously difficult core curriculum, focused mainly in pure and applied math and sciences, went at odds with the University of Pennsylvania s class size of 2400, representing a school more renowned for its Wharton School of Business than its sciences and for the college and social experiences, as it s widely known as the Social Ivy. The decision between these two extremes an Ivy League prestige and a fun four years versus academic rigor and a strenuous undergraduate experience filled with all nighters represents a microcosm of my values as the amalgamation of my past experiences, which, due to the motif of puzzles, contributed to my personal convictions for (1) the study of some form of mathematics, possibly consolidated with real life applications, and (2) my personal philosophy of striving for knowledge and being at the top of my field, no matter the sacrifice. As a toddler, I loved to sit with my grandma and work for hours on jigsaw puzzles of increasing difficulty, as the pictures got bigger and the pieces got smaller. This led to my appreciation of ... Harris touches on Classical Black Nationalism and Contemporary Black Nationalism. Traditional Black Nationalism is essentially as slave rebellions. Be that as it may, Contemporary Black Nationalism can be partitioned into four sections: instructive, religious, social and also progressive patriotism. The Black Panther Party, a standout amongst the most well known progressive patriot associations, held the conviction that the administration around then should have been be changed to meet the requests for the black community. Hard Boiled detective fiction is fiction that features tough, cynical, urban private eyes who expose corruption and frequently get injured in the course of their investigations ( Detective Fiction, Literary). Hard Boiled fiction is considered one of the more popular sub genres of detective fiction; there have been numerous films and novels about urban detectives exposing corruption in the police force and in politics. A crime, usually murder, is committed; a detective investigates the crime; a number of suspects are considered; the guilty party is discovered and imprisoned, killed, or allowed to escape at the conclusion (Detective Fiction, 1 Twentieth Century). The detective story was originally a competition between the reader and the writer. It was a game intended to challenge the intellect and stimulate though. The reader is challenged by the writer to attempt to solve the mystery with the clues provided. In the final pages of the story the reader would learn if their solution matched that of the detective (Herbert and Hillerman 3 4). Detective stories continued to be this intellectual challenge between reader and writer for many years until the hard boiled genre emerged. The first hard boiled detective was Terry Mack, who first appeared in Black Mask magazine in 1923 (Marling). This detective was quick to fight and less on an intellectual than Auguste Dupin. He battled corrupt policemen and gangsters and almost always became injured in the process. Hard Boiled detective fiction brought the complexity of the story down and added a greater sense of adventure to the novels. This attracted many readers and caused the sub genre to take off like a rocket (Marling). Hard Boiled fiction reached its peak in the 1930s and the 1940s. Dna With Natural Catalysts The approach described above is novel and original because we are integrating the high level of programmability of DNA with natural catalysts, which are very significant to progress in many different scientific fields. Such integration enables coupling of enzymes to circuits that are capable of decision making and self regulation, leading to an unprecedented level of control of catalytic reactions. To achieve our objectives, we will develop methods to systematically design, model and test both dynamic and structural components. We will also create software and mathematical tools that can predict the dynamic behavior of individual catalytic modules and multi modular circuits. When compared to existing techniques and protocols for multi enzyme reactions, our system has multiple advantages: (1) Multi enzyme reactions typically require laborious purification after each step and this can also result in loss of valuable sample. By sequestering enzymes within a crystal and then activating each enzyme one after another in proper order, we can avoid purification steps between each reaction. Leakage of enzymes from crystal lattice can be pre vented using semi permeable blockades that will block enzymes by will allow the substrate to pass in and out. (2) Enclosure inside crystal lattices will provide additional stability and protective cover to sensitive enzymes, thus keeping them active and stable for longer periods of time. (3) In case of multi enzyme reactions, sequestering all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adaptations are m because they can take something original and make changes so that can be better understand. In this essay, I will compare and contrast characters and settings from the graphic novel and the movie O , to help decide which adaptation is better for high school students. In the graphic novel, Othello is somewhat similar to O know as Odin who basically is Othello in the movie. The novel, Othello is the general, a leader to Venice. He has ... Both adaptations use Desdemona s bedroom as the place where Othello takes Desdemona s/Desi s life because he was angry and jealous believing Iago s lies that she cheated on him. Iago/ Hugo also kills his wife/girlfriend, Emilia/Emily in the same bedroom because she started telling Othello/O the truth about Iago s/Hugo s dishonesty. Desdemona s bedroom is an important place because it shows the love they have for each other. The bedroom is supposed to be a place where they show an intimacy and feel comfortable, but both couples turn it into a place of death, sadness, and regret. At the same time, the setting was very different from both the movie and novel. In the graphic novel, it took place in Venice then moved to Cyprus. In the movie, their school was like Venice but then moved to the basketball court that was supposed to be Cyprus for war . Also, in the graphic novel mostly the entire story took place at the palace where Othello lived. It changed from time to time but the story was mostly in the palace. • 22. Chromium Plating Research Paper Due to the industrial restrictions in place across some the main areas of the world under health and safety regulations, finding an alternative plating process to the current hexavalent chromium process has become a real necessity. Trivalent chromium has proved to be a suitable replacement due to being less toxic, both health wise and environmentally, whilst also demonstrating almost identical metal finishes to those of the hexavalent chromium deposits. However, the trivalent chromium chemical process is not without its difficulties, such as the inertness of the Cr3+ ions to be reduced to their metallic state, or the initial inferiority of the metal deposits physical properties in comparison to the deposits attained from conventional techniques. In order to overcome these issues multiple approaches have been investigated. It has been found that the use of complexing agents in the trivalent chromium electrolyte solution work to generate stable complexes with Cr3+ through ligand exchange which are then easily reducible to metallic chromium. Not only does this now allow chromium deposition to take place, but it also improves the current efficiency of the electrodeposit. The process of co depositing chromium as an alloy with other metals has shown to enhance the physical and chemical properties of the metal as opposed to individual electrodepositions; an ability that is unattainable for hexavalent chromium, giving an immediate advantage. In addition, the outcome of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First, the cross cultural communication issue may arise and there are mainly 3 factors contributing to the communication barriers in such case. For starters, the factor of culture difference (Moslehpour et al. 2016) present itself. As given in the case study, both of the SSSL executives and Saran are all from India, but the target Qatari market and the people, including both Sheikhs and host country nationals, that they have to deal with, share the Islamic culture or Arab culture, which distinctly differ from India s religious belief Hinduism or Buddhism culture. Since culture can influence the way people perceive things and usually lead to diverse life events among individuals (Nisbett and Miyamoto 2005), people from Qatar and India may have different solutions and reactions to the same problem in the future. At the minimum, conflicts or stereotyping may occur among the host country nationals and expatriates; at the maximum, the major decisions regarding the development and future direction of this partnership business for both sides chief executives may go separate ways. From the effects of dependency theory, to ethnic discrimination and prejudice that began in their homeland of Sudan and followed them to the United States, and experiencing problems with assimilation, these boys have truly showed effects of socialization. Perhaps the first sociological construct demonstrated in the film was the effects of Dependency Theory. Much of Africa has a history of being colonized by Europe at some point in its history, and in the case of Sudan, it was largely under British control. Under British rule, Sudan was essentially divided into Northern and Southern regions. While the North continued to practice its traditions and language, Christianity and the English language began to spread throughout the South. When the British left Sudan, the superpower attempted to prepare the country for self government by establishing a parliament. The problem was that this new government was established predominantly in the North with little representation of Southern Sudan. One definition is an event caused by God, this view is traditionally supported by Christians and philosophers such as Aquinas. A second definition is a violation of the laws of nature which is most commonly associated with David Hume. Although this could have been down to a mis diagnoses which distorted the idea of a miracle occurring. Overall, the inconsistencies with miracles present a biased God. Why would a benevolent God only perform to people who visit Lourdes and not non believers ? Overall this shows God to not be benevolent because the miracles he performs are inconsistent and biased. Keith Ward stated that God is purposely inconsistent with miracles, and does not act within the world often so he does not undermine our free will, thus presenting a transcendent God. In his book Divine Action he stated that if God helps person X rather than person Y , it may be because person X has a more potentially important role in the working out of the divine purpose then person Y . Therefore God s inconsistency is deliberate and his actions are beyond our human understanding. This supports the concept of God being benevolent as he performs miracles for the greater good of the people, he can t save everyone, as this would undermine the significance of miracles, however he does intervene when it will make a large impact in the bigger picture. Examples of this influence include the Islamic movement, the strong influence the Pope has on the Catholic movement, and the impact the Pentecostal movement had on the US government. The worldview contributes to the aspects of living, which include lifestyle, customs, thoughts, philosophies, beliefs, and culture. These aspects seem to change with different generations causing even greater conflict amongst interest groups in policymaking. Indeed, individuals in opposite factions or groups may agree based on facts but sharply differ on conclusions simply because of their different worldviews. • 42. Soc 101-Family Through Different Sociological Perspectives Running Head: FAMILY THROUGH DIFFERENT SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES Family Through Different Sociological Perspectives Stephani Marlow SOC 101 Instructor Marian Spaid Ross Jan 15th, 2012 All families are unique. A few decades ago, the most common type of family was the mother and father living with their unmarried children. Today, families are vastly different including more single parent households than ever before, stepfamilies, and adopted families, and grandparents raising their grandchildren, as well as young married couples having to move back in with their parents because they do not have the money to afford their own living arrangements yet. Whatever type of family you have there are different perspectives in which to view it, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fifth function families perform is Affection and Companionship. In an ideal and perfect situation, the family provides it s kin with a caring environment and close, trusting relationships which in turn make the family members feel secure, safe, and happy. Although, way to often, individuals view their family home as unhappy and or abusive. Still, family members expect their kin to care for them, be understanding, and to be supportive to them in a time of crisis. An example would be with my own mother, when last week, although she has barely spoken to her mother or other family members in five months, she told me that if she had a big problem she would go to her mother because she knows that her mother would give the best advice. Families, no matter what may tear them apart they will almost always find their way back together. Although individuals may find family like friendships and relationships at school or at work the basic family unit is still almost always the tighter group. The sixth and final main function a family provides is Provision of Social Status. Every baby, when they are born have come into an ascribed status based on their family s reputation and background, as well as the reputation of any siblings. For example, children that are close together in age will attend high school one right after the other and the teachers will likely already have an idea of what the younger sibling ... • 43. Diagnosis Of The Population, Discerning Accessible And... Description of the population, discerning accessible and target populations. My research study is to determine whether the application of universal MRSA surveillance screening in a non ICU in acute care setting will result to decreased risk of infection in the hospital patient. eligibility criteria including inclusion and exclusion criteria; MRSA screening will be eligible or conducted on patients admitted in telemetry/medical surgical unit. Patient must be 18 years old and above to be included in the study. All patients who were previously identified as MRSA carriers or having a history of MRSA infection, and patients who are admitted for 24 hour observation, as well as same day surgery will be excluded from the study. discussion of sampling bias; There is a high risk bias due to study limitations and source of population. MRSA screening will only be conducted on patients with greater than 48 hours estimated length of stay, below 18 years old, and patients who have a history of MRSA. Missed opportunity for more extensive data due to the exclusions of other patients admitted in the telemetry/medical surgical unit. sampling design (probability versus nonprobability); I used a nonprobability design, because it does not involve random selection method. I am using the consecutive sampling, which involves recruiting all of the people from an accessible population who meet the eligibility criteria over a specific time interval or for a specified sample size ... • 45. Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital... There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods such as affective self reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals influence one another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. Research shows that there is correlation between marital dissatisfaction and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Essay about Comparison of Japanese and American Cultures COMPARISON OF JAPANESE AND AMERICAN CULTURES As Mahatma Gandhi said, No culture can live, if it attempts to be exclusive (Mahatma). Our culture identifies who we are and how we behave in social environments and provides us with a foundation in which to live our lives and raise our families. Each individual culture has certain customs and courtesies that are important. Exposure to the cultures of others can be intimidating and can leave a person feeling confused and unsure about how they fit in (Schaefer 60). Culture shock can leave a person feeling out of place in an unfamiliar culture (Schaefer 60). Our diverse societies demand understanding and acceptance of other cultures. When offered a meal it is customary for the guest to hesitate slightly before accepting it and will then accept with gratitude (Japan). Guests do not usually offer compliments on household items, as this may embarrass the host (Japan). It is customary to bring fruit or cake to offer as a gift for the host which is given and accepted with both hands and a slight bow (Japan). It is considered rude for a host to open a gift from a visitor at the time it is given (Japan). Many of the customs followed by Americans come from the upbringing of the individual. As adults, Americans may form their own special customs that will be unique for their family. The greetings and visiting customs may vary from family to family, but generally most Americans have a simplistic approach. American greetings are generally informal. • 47. Legend Of Newton Research Paper Have you ever heard the legend about Newton and how he discovered gravity? Legend has it young Newton was sitting under an apple tree and all of a sudden he gets hit on the head apple. This legend is supposedly the real reason how the laws of gravity were created but it s not all true. The real story which was told by Isaac himself is, he was barely looking out the window when he happened to see the fruit drop. Even then, some Newton scholars think the story involving the apples was made up. Newton wasn t always such a serious guy. He was a weirdo. He purposefully stuck a needle in his eye socket. The reason for him sticking a needle was that he was experimenting with the properties of light and used himself as a guinea pig. James Gleick the author of Newton s biography released in 2003, said that Newton did this because people at the time were not really sure whether the eyes were responsible for collecting light or creating it and Newton wanted to find that out. ... God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done. He believed God was the creator of the universe and everything living. Newton had an obsession with the Bible. Getting back to his obsession with the Bible, it s worth mentioning that Isaac went to the extent of learning Hebrew. He wanted to find out the hidden meanings instead of working on science all the time. Newton thought he was a big time sinner. He studied the Bible at great depths and wrote more on religion than about science or mathematics. He actually wrote a list of 48 sins, he committed, which includes punching his sister, being rude to his mother and sister , ...
