Space exploration was born out of the intense competition between the two great
superpowers of the 20th century. The space race was a byproduct of the arms race

A common story told around Halloween is the tale of the Headless Horseman.
Within the past century, both Disney and Hollywood have given their views on the
classic tale. Disney holds most of the original concept of Irving s tale than the Tim

Based upon a thorough analysis of Sprig Toys, I believe that their best option
would be to seek additional funding from more socially driven investors. This is
because I feel that their recent financial struggles were simply a result of the overall
financial crisis of 2008 (that affected everyone) and not a reflection of any firm
specific problems/issues that needed to be addressed.
When running a make buy analysis on the situation, it becomes clear why Sprig
would like to sell and Wham O would like to buy. Sprig is need of an outside source
of cash to distribute to their shareholders (both preferred stockholders and common
stockholders) and the offer from Wham O would provide them with these funds.
While bootstrapping and venture capitalists allowed them to avoid traditional forms
of funding, this was not a sustainable method of funding their rapidly growing

Before taking UWP1, I felt confident in my ability to write an essay; however I
struggled with in class essays because of the limited amount of time to draft, write,
and edit. As a sophomore, I have experience writing academic essays for UC Davis
classes. I have come accustomed to in class essays and short answer paragraphs in
lieu of the typical multiple choice test. With the time limit on an in class essay, I
always felt rushed, and by the time I reached the conclusion I felt I was only
repeating myself. By taking this course, I hoped to betterprepare for these types of
tests by fixing some of my common writingerrors and growing more as a writer.
After several edits and revisions of my three portfolio essays, I am proud of what I
have accomplished in this portfolio. I still have a long way to go, in terms of
academic schooling and improving my writing, but I believe this course has
prepared me for my other classes and later on in my professional life. Through these
three papers, I learned the process of writing an essay and some tips that I can apply
to any essay I write in the future.
The processes for these three papers were different because each paper correlated
with a particular lesson or group of lessons. The first paper was the shortest essay
and tested the basics of writing, such as grammar, spelling, syntax, and diction. I

were equal to whites but he believed that everyone was created with certain
inalienable rights. He won the presidency and was inaugurated in March of 1861. In
