Yummy Good Treats
In the case of Yummy Good Treats it has been argued that since the company utilizes various
technologies that work concurrently with networks and internet connections there is inherently an
increased risk of unauthorized access, wrongful disclosure, alteration and disruption in availability of
company and customer data (Fesl). Therefore I have selected the theme of understanding both
vulnerabilities and threats to a given environment and the risks associated with said vulnerabities. Not
every threat or risk can be accounted for due to the fact that there are unknown unknowns. However,
one may be able to help mitigate threats by implementing a security policy with high standards. In
order to create such a policy it is important that one first

4th Amendment In Schools
Have you ever felt like it was against your rights to be searched in school, that it is a violation to your
fourth amendment, well it s not. According to what the Supreme Court, New Jersey v T.L.O case,
school officials can search students if they believe a student has committed a crime or if the student
violated a rule or policy. The only thing officials are prohibited from doing is a strip search, they have
all the right to search all of your belongings and your person as long as you are on school grounds,
there is nothing you can say or do. The main issue is, is it against the fourth amendment for school
officials to conduct search and seizures on students with or without probable cause. This is an issue till
this day because there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contraband items such as marijuana, guns, knives ,...etc. But schools should never have the right to

jurisdiction. School officials should have to call law enforcement to the school to conduct a proper
search on a student that is believed to be carrying contraband. Schools just want a safe environment

Bernal Del Castillo View Of Doรฑa Marina
Bernal Diaz del Castillo view of Doรฑa Marina was a loyal, passionate and forgiving person. Doรฑa
Marina story talks about how she was given away by her parents to some Indians and was claimed
dead by her parents. The reason for all this trouble was because her mom and stepdad preferred her
stepbrother and her parents wanted him to be inherent in their fortune. Without knowing they gave
Doรฑa Marina better life because those Indians gave her to Cortez who took care of her and made an
important woman. She met her husband Juan Jaramillo during an expedition with Cortez. The reason I
believe that Bernal sees Doรฑa as loyal is that Doรฑa was offered a very high position in Spain because
she was the one that translated new Spain to Mexico language,

How Did Thomas Edison Contribute To Government
Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, February 11, 1847. The Edisons came from Holland in
1730 first settling in Elizabethport, New Jersey. The Edisons had a long proclaimed history of long
lived males, with his great grandfather living until 104 and his grandfather until the matured age of
102. Back in the early 1800s, the Edison family fled to Canada among many others interested in the
loyalist movement that offered a 600 acre grant to those who moved to the province of Nova Scotia.
Thomas Edison s grandfather was born on Canadian soil, thus hindering the detailed reports of Edison

With a head too big for his body and a weak small body, Edison s doctors were worried he had brain
damage. Though Edison was horrid at school, he was an zealous reader and always had his nose in a
book. Edison also had a superb memory being able to clearly remember all the way back to his toddler
years. Edison was so lacking in what was needed of a student of his age that he was not allowed to go
to school for some time. Luckily his mother had the training and was able to give him a much higher
education than the public schools could provide at any given time. Though Edison loved to read, he
was aslo always interested in how things worked. Either the bridge or the train, Edison loved to watch
the world around him come together. As Edison grew into a man, the family moved from Milan, Ohio
to Port Huron, Michigan. While in Michigan, Edison s mother began to grow old and sick. Edison s
father began new work in the grain and feed distribution business. As he grew older, his father paid
him for each factual book he read and soon after Edison began his own laboratory of sorts. Edison had
a love for chemistry and once he had his hands on a book of chemistry experiments he completed
every experiment there was and labeled all his bottles of chemicals from the drugstore as poison so no
one would lay a hand on them. Realizing he had meager cash to spend on his experiments, he went to

Immigration, Baby Boomers, and U.S. Economic Policy in 21st Century
Michael Lowrey
West Chester University of Pennsylvania
In an effort to explore the interaction between U.S. Immigration Policy, Social Security, and their
political impacts, the following scholarly sources were examined. Specifically, the Baby Boomer
generation is retiring in much larger numbers and exercise both economic and political power. The
following articles are current (1995) and provide a sample of the varied literature and interdisciplinary
analysis available on the topic.

Myers presents a method where ODR is redefined as a Senior Ratio (SR) where only those from ages
25 to 64 are involved in workforce replenishment calculation forecasts. Specifically, the spike in Baby
Boomer retirement is proposed as a destabilizing challenge due to generational housing market
incongruence. Often a primary asset, the value of Baby Boomer real estate stock becomes a core
economic indicator. Immigration policy, economic data, and the weight of public rhetoric are
identified and offered as disparate sources providing a solution to forecasted budgetary shortfalls.

Mayan Social Status
As far back as society goes, people have been placed in different social categories. Regardless of what
standing a person has in society, their status will affect their lives on a daily basis and on a larger
scale. It is clear that social status is an ever present and universal social determinate, since differences
between classes are as apparent in ancient civilizations as they are in contemporary society. Evidence
of status in ancient communities, such as the Maya, has been preserved for centuries and is still
detectable through the study of archaeology. The Mayans were people with a culture deeply rooted in
living within a stratified society, where the gap between the elite and the poor was prominent both in
life and death (Somerville et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only does the presence of the vessel indicate some degree of wealth, but often they are decorated
and adorned with depictions of life in the Maya elite court (Jackson 2009:71). These paintings provide
iconographic evidence of social hierarchy through their interpretations of the court through scenes and
text (Jackson 2009:71). Due to the relatively small size of the vessels, they are more readily available
than large material aspects of culture, such as temples. As such, a greater number of them exist for
archaeologists to examine in terms of how they illustrate status (Jackson 2009:72). The vessels, such
as pots and containers, are often embellished with elaborate drawings of what archaeologists believe
to be an idealized concept of Maya court, rather than actual day to day court activity (Jackson
2009:73). The depiction of idealism on the vessels reveals trends of the values that were important in
their eyes. It is clear from the paintings on the vessels that status was a prominent aspect of Mayan
life. Rulers were often shown surrounded by others, and placed physically higher on the vessel to
signify importance (Jackson 2009:74). Other subtle indications of status on the vessels became very
clear as well: more important figures were placed to the right of the authority figure, a gaze from one
figure to another signified a relationship of some kind (usually kinship), courtly figures would

German Expressionism and Dadaism
German Expressionism and Dadaism Introduction Revolutionary forms of art have dominated much
of Germany, apparently as a reaction to the First World War. The era in which the First World War
took place throughout the 1910s, featured artists coming together against what they think the pointless
aggression said major conflict brought. German artists, in particular, protested against the social
structures prevalent during the 1910s, within which the social structures of the Second Reich were
prevalent. German society initially saw film, in particular, as quite an inelegant alternative to the
bourgeoisie associated theater. Such is due to the inability of the domestic film industry in Germany to
develop films due to two reasons the mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wiene, Janowitz and Mayer portrayed through The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari their notion that the
German war effort that time was a highly grotesque one complete with mind controlling propaganda
and objections against dying in the name of German imperial dominance, with the intent to shock
audiences with the highly macabre features of the film. In contrast to the propaganda promotion
agenda of Germany during the 1910s, which stood as the reason for banning foreign film importation
in the nation, The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari serves as a groundbreaking example of Expressionism
that time a complete opposite of German government propaganda due to its shockingly subjective anti
government message (Kellner 3 39; Kracauer 61 76; Wiene). Ironically, however, Siegfried Kracauer
noted that the narrative frame in The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari was an undermining factor to the
expressionist nature of the film. Such is perhaps due to the ascendancy of the fear and anxiety factor
imbued within The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari, which is supposed to provoke the emotions of
audiences. After all, it is the main point of expressionist art to subject audiences to emotionally
provoking scenes, which in turn reflect the subjective views of artists. Therefore, one could note that
the narrative frame in The Cabinet of Doctor

How Did Chanel Change In The 1920s
During the 1920s the art world experienced a lot of change. The art world began to display its new

these newly made changes. Coco Chanel born as Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel was an artist of clothing

her childhood experiences in order to avoid social prejudice that accompanied the situations in her
upbringing.

haute couture also experienced a drastic change during the 1920s. Chanel s fame began with her

Essay on An Overview of Artificial Intelligence
An Overview of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence, a concept that would make possible our most remote dreams, specially for
housewives. Would not it be interesting to know what is this marvelous thing that is going to make our
dreams come true? I think it is. AI(Artificial Intelligence) is a fairly new field in Computer Science,
my subject, which I found very interesting. AI it is not a well defined concept yet, which it is not a
surprise for me, considering that is a very new term and that it contains a word that is has not been
well defined either. Through the years, psychologist have come up with many different concept for
what intelligence is; some of them have become obsolete with the years, but there are a few ... Show

In contrast, it is the business of using computations to make machines act more intelligently or to
somehow amplify human intelligence. Any techniques can be used by a program to so something
intelligent. The term was first introduced by John McCarthy in 1956 at a conference at Dartmounth
College. It was only a decade ago that Larry Tester suggested that AI be defined to be a field in
Computer Science because before it was usually closely related to computational methods. For only
47 years has this term been around, and only ten of those 47 years have scientific actually dedicated to
develop it. So it is acceptable that computer experts have not been able to agree in a definition yet,
after all, the concept of intelligence has been around for a couple of decades and psychologist have not

Today s technology is not advanced enough to provide us with something that can completely fulfill
the previous definition because otherwise, we will be already enjoying robobuttler, and other

Larkin Agnosticism
Agnosticism as a Product of Fear
Nothing is so much to be feared as fear. Atheism may comparatively be popular with God himself.
Henry David Thoreau.
The poetry of Philip Larkin has led numerous scholars to debate about the poet s true attitude towards
religion. Many of Larkin s poems seem to be unambiguous, emanating a strong feeling of pessimism
and denouncement to religion and faith. The doubts and uncertainties Larkin felt towards religion
reverberate throughout his work, resulting in most scholars to consider him an atheist. However, in
perhaps his most famous and widely anthologized poem, Church Going, there seems to be not so
much an expression of outright skepticism towards Christianity, as a desperate struggle to ... Show

Their faith is presented as being heavily deceptive, and their emotions described as deep hoarse tears,
as if a kind of dumb / And idiot child within them survives (14 15). The portrayal of these religious
people presents in the mind of the reader an image of a completely ignorant dunce, or even a jackass,
whereas describing their tears as hoarse, was a homophone likely chosen with malicious intent. Larkin
s fear of death contributes not only to his depiction of religion, but also his struggle to accept it, seeing
as he viewed religion unable to save people from suffering and death. The poem Aubade describes at
length the speaker s struggle and fear of death and how he feels religion in the past or rational thinking
in the modern world of science can by no means drive away... their imminent death (Bao 189). The
speaker is paralyzed by the thought of unresting death that is a whole day nearer every day he comes
home from work (5). In the extremely morbid last stanza of the poem the speaker proclaims his belief
that no trick dispels death, and that religion used to try (22), further showing that the only real obstacle
between Larkin and faith is his inability to accept death as part of the divine plan (Schray 56).
Considering Larkin to be an atheist however is not the most accurate representation of the poet, and
his frequent use of religion, as dire as it may be, indicates a more complicated notion.
The poem Church Going is about a man visiting

determines doubt in a belief. This philosophy is not completely correct to me and not convincing that
they are indubitable. Descartes eliminates the beliefs that many have created through reasoning, but
his method of elimination is very broad. I believe in order to eliminate certain things you must have

Roles Of Women In Roman Women
In my civilization of Rome, women in society have the duty of taking care of the home and family.
Love has almost nothing to do with a Roman marriage. It exists so that wives may produce children to
be heirs to their father s property. Every man wants a son to care for them in old age and eventually
take over the estate, since there are no retirement homes or pension plans. Age fourteen is an average
age for a young girl to get married. Women have weak judgment, so they are prohibited from
attending, speaking in, or voting at political assemblies. They also cannot hold any governmental
position. Egypt treats its women very differently in comparison to my civilization. Egyptians believe
that joy and happiness are legitimate goals of life and take home and family very seriously. Women of
Egypt are almost completely equal to men in regards to the law. They can own property, borrow
money, sign contracts, and initiate divorce. The men and women here love children, and do not
conceive children just to produce an heir to property. We Romans have a practical attitude towards
religion. The upper elite classes hold the priesthood positions. There is no separation of church and
state. We consider ourselves highly religious and our practices and beliefs are our own. It is a part of
our daily lives, and each home has a household shrine in which families can pray to. We credit our
religious customs to its founder Numa Pompilius, the Sabine second second king of Rome. He

William Dunham s Journey Through Genius
The author of Journey through Genius, William Dunham, begins this chapter by depicting how
mathematics was spurred and developed in early civilizations. Dunham focuses primarily on the
works and achievements of early Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece in this section. These ancient
societies, as they developed, produced mathematicians such as; Thales, Pythagoras, and Hippocrates,
who turned a basic human intuition for space and quantity into applicable everyday mathematics. The
primary influences driving the development of early mathematics were the issues of growing
civilizations, most notably counting commodities, taxation, and the division of land equally, rather
than a pure desire for understanding that is seen in mathematics today. These influences culminated in
the development of early arithmetic and geometry. The first civilization that is discussed is early
Egypt. Records have been found referring to mathematics done in Egypt showing a rudimentary
understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem as it pertains to the construction of triangles with whole
number sides before the creation of the Pythagorean Theorem. An example lies in an ancient Egyptian
construction of a rope with knots forming 12 evenly spaced segments along the length of the rope.
They knew if a triangle having sides of 5, 4, and 3 segments was formed it would form a triangle
containing a right angle. However, it is important to state that evidence has not been found that ancient
Egyptians understood exactly

Promise of Accessible Voting for Voters With Disabilities Still Unfulfilled, New Report Finds

due to inadequate or malfunctioning voting machines, voters with disabilities are frequently forced to

accommodation requirements. Furthermore, voters found themselves stuck waiting for longer periods
of time in lines which grew longer until such problems could be resolved. In Why Long Voting Lines
Could Have Long Term Consequences , Emily Badger discusses some of the reasons that deter voters
from future voting, such as the effects of voters who wait for long periods of time in lines during
elections. She explains that many people vote solely for the experience of being part of something.
However, past studies show, if a voters experience involves standing in large lines for long periods of
time, they are less likely to go through the hassle of voting in the future as a result. In addition, long
lines can raise trust issues among voters. Badger agrees, stating surveys also show that people who
wait longer to vote have less confidence that their votes are counted accurately (20). Overall,
continuing to use DREs which have had many technical difficulties causing long lines may affect
whether someone votes in the future, which possibly affects the outcomes of

Analysis Of Scott Momaday s Journey To Rainy Mountain
Introduction
People come from different backgrounds and ancestral foundations. They are at times defined by these
beginnings, and some may end up wanting to know more. Most do not find their ancestral grounding
in their childhood but come to realize it later in life. Many have the advantage of being someone and
identifying with their culture as a basis of their personality. Maintaining proper and adequate
understanding is determined by what one handles and does on a personal, cultural and familial level.
Scott Momaday is a reflection of a person who has been born and lives within the culture. His book,
Journey to Rainy Mountain, is a collection of poems, memoirs and myths on the Kiowa culture.

Part 1 Al Momaday
Looking at the father s memoir and experiences, there is a lot to be discussed because he is a sign of
historical accuracy. He gives an account of how things were in terms of family, leadership and his
existence as a Kiowa man. It gives experiences on how his life was formed around the people of
Kiowa and his obligations to the tribe, nature and family (Momaday 20). His role as a Kiowa man
brings forth his understanding and shows a lot of offerings and activities that happened along ancestral
grounds. It demonstrates the kind of attitude and impression that Momaday had towards his father and
what he regarded him to be in terms of being the head of the family (Momaday 26). It presents the
responsibility that the father took up and other men had within the tribe. The mythical part is mostly
within the experiences and explanations of the father who sets the tone of showing the Kiowa life in a
balanced yet mystical way.
Part 2 Historical Information
The historical information regarding the Kiowa people reflects on the mythological and culture of the
Kiowa people. It sets the tone of identifying the strengths of the tribe, practices and ideas that
developed within the tribe. It also shows a relation of the Kiowa people to nature, other mythical
creatures and how the culture came into existence. It also shows what made the culture of so much

Rodney King 1992 Summary
On March 3, 1991, Rodney King was pulled over by the Los Angeles Police, which four police
officers beat him for refusing to follow the officer s instructions (Martin, 2005). These four individuals
are Sgt. Stacey C. Koon and Officers Laurence M. Powell, Theodore J. Briseno, and Timothy E. Wind

case demonstrated the challenges and consequences that held the media, the law enforcement, and the
public responsible for the LA Riot of 1992. These challenges were examined by focusing how the
media chronologically reported Rodney King s trial and the portrayal of the South Central Los

First, George Holliday captured the beating of Rodney King in 1991 (Martin, 2005). He was a
bystander that recorded Rodney King which he then provided the video to the KTLA news channel. In
addition, the video was an evidence of a police misconduct. The KTLA news channel influenced the
viewers to find justice in Rodney King s case. According to Katz (2016), as a society, pop culture
crime has influenced people to perceive the stereotypes of authority versus victim. For instance, police
officers are inclined to use excessive force to an individual who had Afrocentric African American

Macbeth Weather Quotes
1. The Weather and the Setting
The weather is of a great importance, especially at the beginning of the play, for it informs not to
expect the good outcome of the situations:
First Witch
When shall we three meet again
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
Second Witch
When the hurlyburly s done,
When the battle s lost and won.
Third Witch
That will be ere the set of sun.
First Witch
Where the place?
Second Witch
Upon the heath. (A1, s1, p.4)
The Witches are negotiating about their second encounter giving no possibilities for it to be during the
stable weather, therefore such meeting wouldn t make sense for the evil characters like The Witches.
Thunder, lightning and rain symbolize evil and ominous. Heath would be another useful device that ...

Crow and raven are also birds associated with dark and evil: Light thickens; and the crow makes wing
to the rooky wood. (A3, s2, p.62) Crow might be seen as the negative view of death as well as the
vulture, so Macbeth could be seen as the vulture who feeds on the power of deceased King Duncan.
In Act I Scene 5, after Lady Macbeth reads the letter about Macbeth s first encounter with Witches and
their predictions, and Messenger informs her of Duncan s arrival to their castle that night, she says:
The raven himself is hoarse that croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan under my battlements. (A1, s5,

evil conspiracy she plans to take on King Duncan.

Gould And Lewis Twenty Lessons In Environmental Sociology
The authors of the book Twenty Lessons in Environmental Sociology , Kenneth Gould and Tammy
Lewis, provide a critique on the interactions of various social systems and ecosystems by many
different scholars and institutions. A combination of neo Marxist ideas are used as a base of the world
system theory to create the system for the neoliberal theories (Gould and Lewis p. 39). The world
system theory is looking into economic relationships based off of social changes that are occurring
around the world and determining whether the country is benefitting or not (Gould Lewis p.39). This
theory is built upon the perspective of the modernization theory; these societies are being directly
affected by the lack of modernization within their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These theories are closely related when looking at their end goals of wanting to change social
institutions that will develop a positive change in the environment. However, when examining the
reflexive modernization theory in relation to environmental issues, societies need to think more about
what they don t want rather than want they do want. For example, when evaluating a solution for
polluted rivers, rather than looking at what is wanted to better the problem, society should look into
what they do not want and evaluate the issue from there. This is where a difference in theories is
noted. Both theories show that the idea is not to abandon capitalism, but rather renegotiate and
reorganize the problem entirely (Gould and Lewis p.43). The system is then broken down at the
individual level and changes are made throughout the system into the institutional level. However, the
ecological theory looks to modernize the system as a whole, rather than radically changing it. The
Cradle to Cradle Design by McDonough and Braungart is an example of the ecological modernization
theory of reintegrating products and wastes back into society. Promoting this design of reintegration is
represented at the individual level as products are being reused rather than destroyed causing
unnecessary wastes and pollution.

Essay Totalitarian Agriculture
Totalitarian Agriculture The idea of Totalitarian Agriculture is scary. Especially considering the fact
that it is the exact type of agriculture that is being used in every civilization except for the remaining
tribal peoples of the world. I will try to define Totalitarian Agriculture here: According to an ethics,
followed by every sort of creature within the community of life, sharks as well as sheep, killer bees as
well as butterflies, you may compete to the full extent of your capabilities, but you may not hunt down
your competitors or destroy their food or deny them access to food. In other words, you may compete,
but you may not wage war. This ethics is violated at every point by practitioners of totalitarian ...

Why totalitarian agriculture? You got me. It is really hard to knock Totalitarian Agriculture since it is
the foundation of our culture and the sustenance of our lives. If Totalitarian Agriculture were to
disappear tomorrow, then our culture would be obliterated by starvation. This is not so for the
remaining tribal peoples of the world. They are fully well capable of surviving on their own just the
same as humans have been since there were humans. Thinking about this further made me think about
the reasons for adopting this practice. Our culture practices working to grow and produce food,
locking it up, and then forcing people to pay to get it. before the agricultural revolution 10,000 years
ago, humans had been living successfully as hunter gatherers for a hundred thousand years, so asked
myself what was the reason for this sudden mind change to the practice of Totalitarian Agriculture?
One answer is due to the vast amounts of food surpluses that are created with totalitarian agriculture.
This is part of the answer to the next reason for totalitarian agriculture, which is power and expansion.
The founders of totalitarian agriculture thought that their way to live was the one right way for all
humans to live. These vast surpluses of food enabled this culture to expand into surrounding territories
near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and use force to take the land from tribal peoples. So now, the
first generations of our culture putting

Using Parallel Processing For Large Scale Database Analysis
Modern Data Centers always interested in the new technology for various web search analysis, web
log, bigdata analysis, social networking, so in this tasks new technology implemented using parallel
processing for large scale database analysis, so the MapReduce is one of new technology to get
amounts of data, perform massive computation, and extract critical knowledge out of big data for
business intelligence, proper analysis of large scale of datasets, it requires accurate input output
capacity from the large server systems to perform and analyze weblog data which is derived from two
steps called mapping and reducing. Between these two steps, MapReduce requires a on important
phase called shuffling phase which exchange the intermediate data. So at the point of data shuffling,
by physically changing the location(moving) segments of intermediate data across disks, causes major
I/O contention and generate the Input/Output problem such as large power consumption, high heat
generation which accounts for a large portion of the operating cost of data centers in analyzing such
big data. So in this synopsis we introduce the new virtual shuffling approach to enable well organized
data movement and reduce I/O problem for MapReduce shuffling, thereby reducing power
consumption and conserving energy. Virtual shuffling is achieved through a combination of three
techniques including a three level segment table, near demand merging, and dynamic and balanced
merging subtrees. Our

Critique of Tyler and Wiggins
In his book Basic Principles of Curriculum and Instruction, Ralph Tyler outlines four critical
components of curriculum that may serve as a guide to the creation of curriculum as well as a tool for
the analysis and interpretation of curriculum. The four basic components consist of educational
purposes (or objectives), educational experiences (or learning activities), organization, and evaluation
(Tyler, 1949, p. 1). While Tyler does speak to each of these four components, nearly half of the book is
devoted to the section on objectives. For Tyler, the objectives are the starting point in the development
of the curriculum and the cornerstone upon which the rest of the curriculum is shaped. Given the shifts
that have occurred in education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My critique, based on time and resources, of Tyler s objectives, leads directly into my next critique of
this particular section. Let s assume that it is possible to conduct all of the research and studies that
Tyler suggests. I then wonder, is this information more appropriately used for the development of
objectives, as Tyler suggests, or for the development of learning activities and enrichments? Tyler
speaks frequently of student interests. He suggests that children s interests must be identified so that
they can serve as the focus of educational attention (Tyler, 1949, p.10). I agree with Tyler on this
point, yet I think that this information is better used in the development of learning activities than it is
for the creation of objectives. Take, for example, Tyler s example of the sixty percent of boys in a
ninth grade class that only read comic strips outside of school. With this information, I think it is more
likely that a teacher will create a learning activity that reigns in this interest than it is that the objective
will be changed. This ninth grade class made up of mostly boys interested in comic strips may still
have the same objective as the ninth grade class made up of mostly girls who enjoy reading
CosmoGirl magazine, but the teachers could do different activities to accomplish the same objectives.
The first class may create

Comparison Of Immigrants And US Immigration System
The United States and Canada immigration system is both complex and kind of similar to one another.
The United States is a huge immigration destination for a lot of legal and illegal immigrants. The US
has been a huge immigration location for a large amount of time now. Canada is not far behind the
United States when it comes down to immigration although the US has more. The US legal
immigrants have a green card to be a United States citizen and have the rights as a United States
citizen. In the United States immigrants help benefit major business by the great labor they put in. The
United States immigrants are very diverse with the Asians being the most. There is a lot of illegal

The US Department of State received more than 13 million applications for the 2010 Green Card
Lottery, whose winners are granted permanent residence in the country. This gives a good explanation
on why the United States have so many immigrants and it also shows the US is a popular place to
immigrants. The United States have an anti discrimination policy for immigrants which gives them the
same opportunity as US citizens. This is part of the reason the United States is a major immigrant
desired location to become a citizen. The citizenship process takes a little time and some people do not
qualify for citizenship. This causes illegal immigrants to migrate into the United States and they do
not have any form of citizenship. The US Homeland Security Department estimates that in 2010 there
were around 10.8 million illegal residents in the United States. The United States Illegal immigrants is

The Killer Angels Quotes
For this summer, I decided to read The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. The book took place during
Civil War times and went into good detail on what happened during the battles at Gettysburg. The first
quote that I found interesting was from the Union Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. The fact of
slavery upon this incredibly beautiful new clean earth was appalling, but more even than that was the
horror of old Europe, the curse of nobility, which the South was transplanting to new soil (Shaara 27).
This quote was significant because it described the feelings of the average Union soldier towards
slavery. The Union fought to end slavery because as shown by people like Chamberlain, they believed
that slavery was against a man s good nature and did not want it to effect the new land of the United
States. The second quote that I found significant was another quote from Chamberlain on how he
describes a young black man who was injured from escaping his slave master. The man was really
very black. Chamberlain felt an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to compromise and go along with Lee s plan since he has a sacred bond with him. Eventually,

Instead, Willy continues to borrow money from Charley, with no way of paying it back. He was just
given unpaid leave from work with payments piling up. Yet instead of making things better for his
family and those around him, he declines a job from Charley. He therefore stays in unpayable debt to

Neonatal Nursing Essay
Introduction
Neonatal nursing has a history that is different from the other nursing specializations. Neonatal nurses
have different practice settings and qualifications than other nurses. They have different job
characteristics and different educational requirements. This field of nursing has also been recently in
need of more trained professionals, so there are many career opportunities available. According to the
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, 3,100 neonatal nurses are practicing in the United States
today. A neonatal nurse provides direct patient care to infant patients. Neonatal nurses give the infants
the care and compassion they deserve. Neonatal nurses are in frequent contact with worried families.

Premature birth occurs in 11.7% of pregnancies in the United States. With the introduction of new
technology in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), premature infants are now kept alive at lower
birth weights, with more severe diagnoses, and a greater likelihood of surviving to discharge to be
cared for by parents.( Brady E. Hamilton; Joyce A. Marti; Stephanie J. Ventura 2012 p.305) An
important role to neonatal nursing includes consultation, research, and education of families and staff.
Facts
Neonatal nursing in the hospital typically takes place in many different nurseries. They come in three
different levels, Level I, II, or III. Level I are for healthy infants and does not usually exist. Newborns
and their mothers are only in the hospital for a short period of time it isn t necessary to have an actual
nursery. The infants stay in the individual hospital rooms with their mothers. Level II is called a
special care nursery. This nursery is for infants born prematurely or if an infant suffers from an illness.
Level III is the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This level is for infants who cannot be admitted
to any other level and suffer from acute illnesses, being premature and need special technology to
sustain life such as an incubator, ventilator or surgery Depending on the care the infants need they
may require specific things such as supplemental oxygen and

Three main issues arise when it comes to dividend policy in firms. The first issue is whether
dividend is needed or not and the second issue is regarding which one would be the best option among
various payout methods. Lastly, the third issue is about dividend rate. Whether these issues will affect
corporate values has been debated over the years. This paper will talk about such issues through the
case study of Linear Technology.
1. Why dividend is needed.

Since the firm s stocks are growth stocks, the cash used to repurchase stocks lacks the opportunity of
generating high cash flows. Accordingly, the market price would result in decreased future earnings,
EPS, and the firm value of Linear. The number of outstanding shares, instead of the price, will
decrease. While the price of stock would increase just as the amount of cash paid out to repurchase the
outstanding stocks. It is important that in both cases, earnings and earnings per share before the
payment are not affected.
3. About the dividend rate
Firms judge the rate of dividend initiations by earnings. However, simply put, if dividend rate changes
depending on the change of earnings, the fluctuation of dividend will increase. This would not be
good. Because cutting dividends means uncertain future cash flows. If a company cuts dividend rate,
shareholders will need higher opportunity costs of capital, as a result stock prices will go down. Thus,
Linear has retained constantly increasing dividend rates in small amounts. Under the theoretical
assumptions such as M M, there is no difference whether firms pay out dividends or not. And if the
cost of capital is lower than a firm s ROE, no dividend can raise a firm s value. However, considering
the real life factors, firms should keep on steady level of dividend rate or repurchasing shares.
Repurchasing shares seems to be a better solution. As a

Doรฑa Marina story talks about how she was given away by her parents to some Indians and was claimed dead by her parents. The reason for all this trouble was because her mom and stepdad preferred her stepbrother and her parents wanted him to be inherent in their fortune. Without knowing they gave Doรฑa Marina better life because those Indians gave her to Cortez who took care of her and made an important woman. Not only does the presence of the vessel indicate some degree of wealth, but often they are decorated and adorned with depictions of life in the Maya elite court (Jackson 2009:71). These paintings provide iconographic evidence of social hierarchy through their interpretations of the court through scenes and text (Jackson 2009:71). Due to the relatively small size of the vessels, they are more readily available than large material aspects of culture, such as temples. As such, a greater number of them exist for archaeologists to examine in terms of how they illustrate status (Jackson 2009:72). The vessels, such as pots and containers, are often embellished with elaborate drawings of what archaeologists believe to be an idealized concept of Maya court, rather than actual day to day court activity (Jackson 2009:73). The depiction of idealism on the vessels reveals trends of the values that were important in their eyes. It is clear from the paintings on the vessels that status was a prominent aspect of Mayan life. Rulers were often shown surrounded by others, and placed physically higher on the vessel to signify importance (Jackson 2009:74). Other subtle indications of status on the vessels became very clear as well: more important figures were placed to the right of the authority figure, a gaze from one figure to another signified a relationship of some kind (usually kinship), courtly figures would ... • 11. German Expressionism and Dadaism German Expressionism and Dadaism Introduction Revolutionary forms of art have dominated much of Germany, apparently as a reaction to the First World War. The era in which the First World War took place throughout the 1910s, featured artists coming together against what they think the pointless aggression said major conflict brought. German artists, in particular, protested against the social structures prevalent during the 1910s, within which the social structures of the Second Reich were prevalent. German society initially saw film, in particular, as quite an inelegant alternative to the bourgeoisie associated theater. Wiene, Janowitz and Mayer portrayed through The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari their notion that the German war effort that time was a highly grotesque one complete with mind controlling propaganda and objections against dying in the name of German imperial dominance, with the intent to shock audiences with the highly macabre features of the film. In contrast to the propaganda promotion agenda of Germany during the 1910s, which stood as the reason for banning foreign film importation in the nation, The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari serves as a groundbreaking example of Expressionism that time a complete opposite of German government propaganda due to its shockingly subjective anti government message (Kellner 3 39; Kracauer 61 76; Wiene). Ironically, however, Siegfried Kracauer noted that the narrative frame in The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari was an undermining factor to the expressionist nature of the film. Such is perhaps due to the ascendancy of the fear and anxiety factor imbued within The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari, which is supposed to provoke the emotions of audiences. After all, it is the main point of expressionist art to subject audiences to emotionally provoking scenes, which in turn reflect the subjective views of artists. The poetry of Philip Larkin has led numerous scholars to debate about the poet s true attitude towards religion. Many of Larkin s poems seem to be unambiguous, emanating a strong feeling of pessimism and denouncement to religion and faith. The doubts and uncertainties Larkin felt towards religion reverberate throughout his work, resulting in most scholars to consider him an atheist. Larkin s fear of death contributes not only to his depiction of religion, but also his struggle to accept it, seeing as he viewed religion unable to save people from suffering and death. The poem Aubade describes at length the speaker s struggle and fear of death and how he feels religion in the past or rational thinking in the modern world of science can by no means drive away... their imminent death (Bao 189). The speaker is paralyzed by the thought of unresting death that is a whole day nearer every day he comes home from work (5). In the extremely morbid last stanza of the poem the speaker proclaims his belief that no trick dispels death, and that religion used to try (22), further showing that the only real obstacle between Larkin and faith is his inability to accept death as part of the divine plan (Schray 56). • 16. Roles Of Women In Roman Women In my civilization of Rome, women in society have the duty of taking care of the home and family. Love has almost nothing to do with a Roman marriage. It exists so that wives may produce children to be heirs to their father s property. Every man wants a son to care for them in old age and eventually take over the estate, since there are no retirement homes or pension plans. Age fourteen is an average age for a young girl to get married. Women have weak judgment, so they are prohibited from attending, speaking in, or voting at political assemblies. • 17. William Dunham s Journey Through Genius The author of Journey through Genius, William Dunham, begins this chapter by depicting how mathematics was spurred and developed in early civilizations. Dunham focuses primarily on the works and achievements of early Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece in this section. These ancient societies, as they developed, produced mathematicians such as; Thales, Pythagoras, and Hippocrates, who turned a basic human intuition for space and quantity into applicable everyday mathematics. The primary influences driving the development of early mathematics were the issues of growing civilizations, most notably counting commodities, taxation, and the division of land equally, rather than a pure desire for understanding that is seen in mathematics today. These influences culminated in the development of early arithmetic and geometry. The first civilization that is discussed is early Egypt. Records have been found referring to mathematics done in Egypt showing a rudimentary understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem as it pertains to the construction of triangles with whole number sides before the creation of the Pythagorean Theorem. An example lies in an ancient Egyptian construction of a rope with knots forming 12 evenly spaced segments along the length of the rope. They knew if a triangle having sides of 5, 4, and 3 segments was formed it would form a triangle containing a right angle. A videographer was able to capture the event that was aired on the KTLA news channel. It became a controversial issue that caused the LA Riot of 1992. Furthermore, Rodney King s case demonstrated the challenges and consequences that held the media, the law enforcement, and the public responsible for the LA Riot of 1992. These challenges were examined by focusing how the media chronologically reported Rodney King s trial and the portrayal of the South Central Los Angeles citizens. For example, when evaluating a solution for polluted rivers, rather than looking at what is wanted to better the problem, society should look into what they do not want and evaluate the issue from there. This is where a difference in theories is noted. Both theories show that the idea is not to abandon capitalism, but rather renegotiate and reorganize the problem entirely (Gould and Lewis p.43). The system is then broken down at the individual level and changes are made throughout the system into the institutional level. However, the ecological theory looks to modernize the system as a whole, rather than radically changing it. Between these two steps, MapReduce requires a on important phase called shuffling phase which exchange the intermediate data. The four basic components consist of educational purposes (or objectives), educational experiences (or learning activities), organization, and evaluation (Tyler, 1949, p. 1). While Tyler does speak to each of these four components, nearly half of the book is devoted to the section on objectives. • 31. The Killer Angels Quotes For this summer, I decided to read The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. The book took place during Civil War times and went into good detail on what happened during the battles at Gettysburg. The first quote that I found interesting was from the Union Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. The fact of slavery upon this incredibly beautiful new clean earth was appalling, but more even than that was the horror of old Europe, the curse of nobility, which the South was transplanting to new soil (Shaara 27). This quote was significant because it described the feelings of the average Union soldier towards slavery. The Union fought to end slavery because as shown by people like Chamberlain, they believed that slavery was against a man s good nature and did not want it to effect the new land of the United States. The second quote that I found significant was another quote from Chamberlain on how he describes a young black man who was injured from escaping his slave master. The man was really very black. Chamberlain felt an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... General Longstreet felt that the plan Lee formed would ultimately fail and cause a major loss to the Union Army. He brought it to Lee s attention only once, but Lee told Longstreet with the help of him and other strong generals including Pettigrew, Trimble, Pickett, and Armistead, they could cut the Union army in half and force them to retreat. Unlike Longstreet, Lee never looked at the consequences of pulling this risky attack. Longstreet, feeling guilty for trying to stop Lee s overconfidence, decides to compromise and go along with Lee s plan since he has a sacred bond with him. Eventually, Longstreet s predictions came true and the strategy was a failure. Despite the fatal casualties to Longstreet s fellow Generals, he couldn t bare himself to turn against ... The first issue is whether dividend is needed or not and the second issue is regarding which one would be the best option among various payout methods. Lastly, the third issue is about dividend rate. Whether these issues will affect corporate values has been debated over the years. This paper will talk about such issues through the case study of Linear Technology. 1. Why dividend is needed. Linear Technology s payout policy, unlike many competitors in the Semiconductor Industry, has a relatively large portion in dividends. Linear has provided steady dividends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the firm s stocks are growth stocks, the cash used to repurchase stocks lacks the opportunity of generating high cash flows. Accordingly, the market price would result in decreased future earnings, EPS, and the firm value of Linear. The number of outstanding shares, instead of the price, will decrease. While the price of stock would increase just as the amount of cash paid out to repurchase the outstanding stocks. It is important that in both cases, earnings and earnings per share before the payment are not affected. 3. About the dividend rate Firms judge the rate of dividend initiations by earnings. However, simply put, if dividend rate changes depending on the change of earnings, the fluctuation of dividend will increase. This would not be good. Because cutting dividends means uncertain future cash flows. If a company cuts dividend rate, shareholders will need higher opportunity costs of capital, as a result stock prices will go down. Thus, Linear has retained constantly increasing dividend rates in small amounts. Under the theoretical assumptions such as M M, there is no difference whether firms pay out dividends or not. And if the cost of capital is lower than a firm s ROE, no dividend can raise a firm s value. However, considering the real life factors, firms should keep on steady level of dividend rate or repurchasing shares. Repurchasing shares seems to be a better solution. As a ...
