Environmental Issues in North America and the World
Introduction North America has been struggling immensely since the last century with air and water
pollution, deforestation, and overpopulation. These struggles are due to poor prevention planning and
industrial manifestation. Pollution is changing the atmosphere much sooner than expected and global
warming is predicted to overwhelm the atmosphere within the next half of a century. In order to
sustain the environment and atmosphere humans must take immediate action right now. The longer we
wait to start immediate prevention, the sooner our air and water supplies will diminish. Unfortunately,
it is not only North America that needs to change it is many other countries and regions of the world.
Prevention and preservation is up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Air Pollution and Global Warming The biggest cause of air pollution in North America comes from
carbon dioxide emissions. Fossil fuel, electricity, and vehicle technology has been an enormous
contribution to the emission of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are gases that attract radiation
from the sun into the earth s exterior and its environment. Producing an overabundance of greenhouse
gases at a time may dramatically change the atmosphere as we know it today. The ozone layer that
protects human beings and many other species of plants and animals from the sun s excruciating rays
may deplete or be damaged due to too much pollution. The United States heavy demand of fossil fuels
for transportation is causing extreme confliction and competitiveness with many other countries. Japan
became so concerned with these issues that they devised a plan that could bring countries together to
compromise this extremely difficult issue. The Kyoto Protocol is a negotiation put together by the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The treaty was compromised
in Kyoto, Japan in 1997. Countries that formally approve this protocol devote to decrease the amount
of released greenhouse gases, or trade the number of emissions allowed from sustaining or raising the
emissions of greenhouse gases. The United States of America was not among these countries that

The Plan For New Homes
With the economic crash that started in 2007 and continued for a couple years countless men and
woman lost their jobs and homes. Due in part to the ability to over extend themselves they were
maxed out in their credit to debt ratios, struggling just to make ends meet. Thankfully, with the
downfall they experienced, these foreclosure and short sell victims have finally been able to bounce
back. Many today are beginning to enter back into the housing market looking for new homes,
although this time instead of trying to find the max they can afford, they are now more concerned with
the payment they can afford.
These newly educated buyers have learned a few ways to come back stronger than ever and stay on
top thanks to their shortcomings from the past. One of such ways is by a federal program called The
back to work program , which helps out those who lost their homes due to the crash. This program is
federally insured and offers buyers the second chance they need in as little as 12 months after a
foreclosure or bankruptcy. The buyer must be able to prove that there was at least a 20% loss in
income before the action took place as well. Although many if the victims are afraid to get back into
the game, they are finding more and better ways than ever before.
Another possibility that has become ever increasingly popular is the rent to own option. Rent to own is
really a lease option, which means that the buyer gets the home now and pays monthly rent for a
predetermined amount of

Sermon On The Mount Essay
CHAPTER 1
SERMON ON THE MOUNT: GENERAL OUTLOOK
1.0 INTRODUCTION
In this chapter we are dealing with Sermon on the Mount in a general outlook. Here we will mainly
see the Sermon on the Mount in the gospel of Matthew, its connection with the Old Testament and the
New Testament setting of the Sermon on the Mount.
1.1 SERMON ON THE MOUNT IN THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW
The Sermon on the Mount is recorded in the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh chapters of the Gospel
According to St. Matthew.
1.1.1 MATTHEW THE EVANGELIST
Tradition attributes the authorship of the first Gospel to the Apostle Matthew who sat under the tax
booth and followed Jesus (9:9f; 10:3). Today few hold the view that Matthew the tax collector is the
author of the Gospel. While this Matthew may have been an original source for the Gospel, the final
form as we now have it seems to be the work of a Gentile Christian who was well versed in the
Hebrews but who made enough mistakes.
It is some time difficult to state with exactness the authorship of ancient writings. The name Matthew
means gift of the Lord. Mark and Luke, in the story of his calling, name him Levi. Perhaps this was
his original name, and he received a new name from Jesus when he became a disciple. (It has also

The gospel has traditionally and popularly been known as the Jewish gospel, sometimes over against
Luke or John as the gentile gospel. The following facts illustrate that the gospel is written for Jewish
Christians. Matthew includes sayings from Q and M that stress the continuing validity of the law (Mt
5:17 48).His readers then were probably Jewish Christians for whom the Jewish law was relevant. He
shows interest on matters that are distinctively Jewish such as Sabbath, temple etc. Mathew does not
explain Jewish customs. Luke traces Jesus ancestry back to Adam, father of human race, Matthew
back to Abraham, father of Jewish

Punk Rock Revolution
Despite the internal turmoil in the punk movement, punk rock made several things clear to
international audiences. Punk Rock, in its subculture, managed to break down many barriers of
expression and language. It made an indentation in the commercial music industry. It provided a fresh
alternative to a boring, stagnant music scene. But most of all, punk s legacy lies in its introduction of
self employment and activism, most essential to Britain at the time. It illustrated that anyone can do it
themselves, without reliance on the commercial media or the luxury of having financial abundance.
Against the backdrop of mass consumer conformity, the punk rock movement made a statement of
individuality that was heard worldwide. Through the words ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

London was in decay, a waste land, in the late 60s and 70s. The people were enduring a great
depression, with a failed economy providing mass unemployment and, therefore, no money; thus
London teenagers were face with no future, no hope. Riots were the only way these angry teenagers
had voiced their frustration; that is, until Punk hit the streets. ÒI had no future, I had to write my own

Full House Research Paper
A revival of Full House? You got it dude! Ninety s sitcoms seem to be on the rise, whether it s old
shows being added to Netflix such as Fresh Prince of Bel Air, rumours of reunions such as Friends, or
revivals like Boy Meets World. Netflix has confirmed that Full House will be joining this club with its
revival called Fuller House. The Tanners are back, along with Kimmy Gibbler. The new plot
surrounds DJ Tanner, who is widowed (very similar beginning to Full House) and the family coming
together to help her raise her family. Full House has filled many hearts with nostalgia, but has also hit
many milestones as a sitcom. The show about three men, raising three girls (which can border line

Despite this the Olsen twins will be one of the only original casts not coming back. This may be a
letdown to many of the young girls who grew up with Michelle Tanner and idolizing the Olsen twins.
The good news is that many of the other original cast members are coming back as regulars or just for
cameos. Even with the original cast, the show will face some difficulties. Previous revivals such as
Boy Meets World has been somewhat successful, but it fans aren t it s originals. Because it s on the
Disney Channel, most of its viewers are younger. This is because of time passing. Many are interested
in the plot continuing, but sometimes the characters people grew up watching are not as relatable.
While we would all like to know what the characters of friends are doing, an entire season of them
living separately and acting responsibly might not be as interesting as it seems. People enjoyed
watching the Tanner girls facing obstacles as they grow older up or hot breaker Uncle Jesse learn to
settle down, but not as many are interested in watching all them as adults. It s originally a family
show, so it should interest all members of the

The Issue Of Capital Punishment Essay
Today, one of the most debated issues in the Criminal Justice System is the issue of capital punishment
or the death penalty. Having said that, crime is imminent. We could have an unexpected encounter
with a criminal committing crime on a daily. Criminals have become a part of our daily lives. Does
this mean we should let them prevail in our society? No, absolutely not. Eliminating crime and
criminals is our duty, and we must not ignore it. Getting the rightly accused to a just punishment is
very important. Some criminals commit a crime because they have no other option to survive, but
some do it for fun. I do not advocate death penalty for everybody. A person, who stole a piece of
clothing from a department store, definitely does not deserve the death penalty. However, a serial
killer, who kills people just because or for malicious reasons, definitely deserves the death penalty.
The death penalty should continue, in order to eliminate the garbage out of our society. Not everybody
deserves to die, but some people definitely do. I support the death penalty for several reasons.
Primarily, I believe that the death penalty serves as a deterrent and assists with reducing crime.
Moreover, the death penalty assures safety to our society by eliminating these criminals.
As stated in our text, deterrence is a sentencing goal or a crime prevention strategy that seeks to inhibit
criminal behavior in either the offender (specific deterrence) or in the others (general deterrence by

People with high powered jobs in the course of their professional or business occupation include
bribery and corruption, tax evasion and embezzling funds and other types of fraud. These crimes go
unreported because these people are not under scrutiny or are not being observed because they have
the authority no one is above them. In addition, these crimes are dealt with in a different way. Rather
than being handed to the policing authorities to be prosecuted in court, they are sacked, and their
professional title would be striped of their possession. An example of White collar crime would be of
the American company Enron. Enron grew unexpectedly to be America s 7th largest company,
employing 21,000 members of staff in more than 40 countries. The firm s success was later to be
explained by an elaborate scam. Enron had deceived their employees about their profits and stands
accuse of a range of inexplicit deals, including concealing debts. More than six moths after a criminal
inquiry was announced, the guilty parties have still not been brought to justice (CBC news).
This means that crime statistics provide evidence that the middle and upper classes are unrepresented,
thus translating to much importance to Marxists. Due to the fact that the higher classes are benefiting
from crime, as they remain un prosecuted, it supports the theory that the bourgeoisie in a Capitalist
society are the ruling class. However, after considering the disadvantages and

Ventilation Modes
The Effects of Different Ventilation Modes on Sleep Quality in Critically Ill Patients Who require
Mechanical Ventilation
Introduction:
Sleep is a physiological process essential to the human body to rest and maintain overall health1. One
complication of acute illness is sleep deprivation seen as ineffective nocturnal sleep, reduced (NREM)
and (REM) sleep, and an increase in the waking hours within the circadian rhythms2. Recent studies
suggest that invasive mechanical ventilation influences the sleep quality in intubated patients with
respiratory failure3. Mechanically ventilated patients describe sleep deprivation as a source of stress
that depresses both mental and physical states4. Sleep deprivation can cause anxiety, depression,

Tennyson s The Arrow And The Charge Of The Light Brigade
Out of all the poems Tennyson wrote, The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade was the ones
that have been selected. Tennyson was one of the greats that came from the Victorian era. Tennyson
wasn t just known for being a poet, he was also known for writing plays and music. There will be
some comparing and contrasting of The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade on the poetic
devices Tennyson used and what inspired him to write both these poems. Tennyson was inspired to
write The Eagle when he went to the mountain. Even though The Eagle was a short poem, it had a lot
of imagery. He clasps the crag with crooked hands a good use of imagery in this poem. It is also a
metaphor because Tennyson wrote it as if the eagle had hands like a human. It explained about how
the eagle lives in its natural habitat. The Eagle had a rhyme scheme of (a, a, a) which is a triple rhyme,
where the stanzas have three lines and they all rhyme. The poem also contains alliteration and simile.
And like a thunderbolt he falls is a simile that was used that could be used to describe the eagle
falling. In all cases we would think Tennyson meant the eagle was falling fast like a thunderbolt but he
wasn t. Although the unwary reader might associate the swift, downward flight of the eagle with a
lightning bolt, Tennyson does not use this term (Jackson 26). He was wording it as the sound of the
rock landing a thunderbolt (Jackson 26). The poem uses alliteration such as He

Design And Construction Of Australia
2 DESIGN CONSTRUCTION
2.1 Introduction
As the world s population increases airlines along with airports have been experiencing higher air
transport demands. These demand not only passengers arriving and departing from airports, but also
from growths in freight. Higher demands for passenger and freight throughput has caused major
airports to struggle to efficiently accommodate air transport flow in busy periods, causing congestion
and delays (Solak et al. 2009; Zhang Zhang 2006). Solak et al. (2009) asserts that the implementation
of tougher airport security due to terrorism has caused airports to become additionally congested and
experience extended delays. For example, Australia s population is rapidly increasing and is becoming

Other possibilities are to build a new airport or utilise other existing underused airports, for example in
Melbourne Avalon Airport can be used in conjunction with Tullamarine Airport (Engineers Australia
2010; Kwakkel et al. 2010). The two fore mentioned possibilities would require the management of
multi airport systems (De Neufville 1995).
2.2 Literature Review
With long term growths in passenger and freight volumes expected in airports all around the world,
airports are planning and implementing various strategies to meet those expected future demands
(Solak et al. 2009; Kwakkel et al. 2010). A planner s proposals and strategies in which an airport can
implement over a number of years in order to facilitate the forecasted growth of passengers and freight
is known as an airport master plan (Kwakkel et al. 2010). Bradley (2010) states that an airport s
capacity is a result of a number of different combined factors. These include how much aircraft
movement over a specific period its runway can handle, the number of aircrafts its apron can
accommodate, as well as how much incoming and outgoing passengers and freight its terminal can
facilitate per hour (Caves 1994; Bradley 2010). An airport master plan can include airport expansion,
maintenance and upgrades, the development of a new airport or even the utilisation of multiple
airports in a city. Regardless of the plan the necessary design and

William Faulkner s `` A Rose For Emily ``
While authors like Edgar Allen Poe and Stephen King are known for their creepy writings, William
Faulkner has achieved a level of disturbing that is hardly reached in short stories. A Rose for Emily is
a story that shows how the insanity of one woman is able to shock an entire town, even in death.
When first reading A Rose for Emily, anyone can see how twisted Emily Grierson is. Not only for the
fact that she was sleeping in the same bed as a corpse, but because this was not the first time that she
had kept a dead body in her house. While her family does have a history of mental instability, stating
that, remembering old lady Wyatt, her great aunt, had gone completely crazy at last (section II), she is
able to out do the impossible and create an aura of mystery that surrounds her both during life and
death. After reading this story, it makes the audience question not only the reasoning that Emily has
behind not only killing Homer, but keeping his body trapped in her house up until she met death as
well. It also brings to attention how much the townsfolk actually influenced the progression of
insanity that caused Emily and those around her, so much turmoil. For example, if the townsfolk had
not used Emily as a source of entertainment and gossip, would she have stayed the recluse? While, the
townsfolk are not to blame, it makes readers wonder: what if? Another question that I had while
reading this story is, who was the narrator? The narrator, whoever they are, is able to

Emile Durkheim Analysis
Emile Durkheim would stand to say that we need social media, despite negative effects. He would
state that, although as an American culture centered around social media can cause us to be way too
focus on our internet lives , mass media plays a very important duty to the American people. It
provides everyone, with news, entertainment, and socialization. Durkheim questioned how our
societies maintain their internal stability and survive over time. And like a body s systems all working
together to create life, society and social media work together like the brain works with the heart.
Societies are growing larger and mass social media is a good medium to reach out to many people at

The picture was first posted on Facebook in June of 2014. After introducing this mugshot to the
internet world, a wildfire of memes took place that were hooked on his attractiveness. About a week
after being arrested, a fundraising page for her Meeks legal defense was launched on the
crowdfunding website GoFundMe with a goal of $25,000. In the first five days alone, around over
$4,300 in donations were already received. A couple weeks after his arrest, ABC News held an
interview with Meeks in prison. After his mugshot went viral, there were twitter frenzies of hashtags
such as #FelonCrushFriday. He became an internet sensation solely based on his physical appearance.
This is a very common occurrence for society now days. Society values someone s physical
appearance more than who they are behind the mask. No one who retweeted this meme (which refers
to rape in a humorous way) stopped to think that maybe he was in jail for a serious crime (that we can
all come together to agree with is wrong) like murdering a young child or even rape. Society has been
molded to, in a way, to be more accepting of someone who is more attractive. Let s picture this
mugshot being of a dark skin African American with the same tattoos on his face, with nappy hair and
was not as attractive. People would either A) scroll past it, or B) focus on the charges. There would be
bias against him because he is not as appealing to the eye, even though his charge was speeding
tickets. Apart from society s value of appearance over content, because he is light skinned and
attractive we don t have prejudice against him. We tend to associate, as unfortunate as it may be,
darker skinned African Americans with heinous crimes and violence. Although the meme may make
light of Rape, we accept it and find it humorous because we have the mindset of Meeks is attractive
and light skinned, he can t have done something like rape.

Key Results Of Testing For Ppp Essay
5.1 Introduction
Following the methodology section, this chapter is going to present the main findings of the PPP test
and relevant information, graphs and tables will be shown as well. The purpose of this part is to
provide key results of testing for PPP in order to facilitate the following detailed discussions. It is no
doubt that this section can be viewed as the core of the whole project because it depends on a variety
of econometric tools to evaluate the financial data. The findings consist of two major aspects: the one
is on the examination of the strong version of PPP, namely APPP; the other is on the test of RPPP, also
known as the weak form of PPP.
5.2 Findings of Testing for APPP
As stated earlier, the APPP is based on the law of one price, stating that the real exchange rate is equal
to one. The formula is written by: (5)
For the convenience of our research, the equation above can be simplified to: (6) where Et represents
the nominal bilateral exchange rate, Pt* is the CPI in Japan, Pt means the Indian CPI.
Before analysing, what should do is to transmute the raw data into the natural logarithm form.
According to Jia and Rathi (2008), the major cause of transformation is that taking natural logarithms
not only indicates the elasticity of economic variables, but eliminates the issue of heteroscedasticity
efficiently. If an econometric model is heteroscedastic, the test of significance for

Sleep Figurative Language
The definition for rest is to stop being active for a period of time in order to relax and get back your
strength, or to cause someone or something to stop doing an activity in order to get back strength
(Cambridge). The definition for sleep is resting state in which the body is not active and the mind is
unconscious (Cambridge). Words have more than one meaning; in many poems rest may mean rest in
peace which means death. Another example of death is in the word sleep. In some areas in the bible,
sleep represents death. Words can be interpreted different forms using figurative language, imagery,
and symbolism. Figurative language is not meant to be interpreted literally, but is used to intensify the
work and please the readers imaginations. In line one in the poem it states, Where sunless rivers weep
, the sunless rivers means the darkness or night time. Christina Rossetti was a religious person who
used her faith in her writing. An example of this is Led by a single star (5), the star could represent the
star on top of the manger, leading people to the birth of Jesus. There are also similes, metaphors, and
repetition in the poem Dreamland . Through sleep, as through a veil/ She sees the sky look pale (13

had occurred. This line is practically saying river of tears which could mean a recent death going on.

Full Inclusion In Early Childhood Education
In early childhood, many five to eight year olds, are included in general education classes for at least
part of the day. School districts implement full inclusion. I could not stress the enough. When I was
younger in elementary school I had an IEP. Having an IEP already made me feel like an outcast and
having to go to a separate room made that feeling even worse. I understand in some severe cases
children have to be separated. In my case I just need the teacher to go a little slower and explain the
concept a few times. The school should have had teachers equip to handle this situation. I did not need
a separate room to learn the information I just need a little help, which the teacher could have easily
applied.

Resilience In Hiroshima
There are many solutions to help make our community better by learning from what has happened in
the past. Through resilience we learn from our past to grow our communities in the spirit of a hopeful
future by being courageous and humble. War is a hard situation to deal with, homes get ruined, people
get killed etc.. But in order to grow we have to go through difficult paths. In Hiroshima written by
John Hersey one of the characters Mrs. Nakamura she was a very courageous women, she woke up
her kids really early in the morning got them ready and took them to a safe place, later on that day she
went back to her messed up house and got things for her helpless neighbors during the atomic bomb.

Auschwitz Concentration Camp Where Nightmares Became a...
Auschwitz was one of the most well known death camps, a place where nightmares became realities.
This affected the lives of those who were apprehended from their homes taken from their family and
friends. At the camp most people who entered did not leave and those who survived faced hardships
no human should ever have to endure such as hunger, illness, fear, and pain. These are just a few
examples of the struggles of being in Auschwitz. The Schultz Stopa, more commonly known as the SS
were an elite group of brutal soldiers who held thousands of peoples lives in the palms of their hands.
This essay will mainly focus on the everyday life and living conditions of those captured and forced to
live inside one of the scariest places, part of the Holocaust during World War II. All the loss, of hope
and faith of all of the Jewish community faced during this bleak period of history will be portrayed .
After the tragedy, those alive still faced challenges from people who didn t believe that these events
actually happened even with all the evidence supporting that the Holocaust did take place. The focus
of this essay will stay on the construction of the Auschwitz concentration camp, the deadliest death
camp on the face of the planet and the everyday life of the brave, courageous people who were
enslaved in a living hell . In the beginning of the Holocaust towns were being ravaged and taken to be
used for barracks and ghettos. Ghettos were basically holding cells for jews

##liness And Loneliness In Ernest Hemingway s A Clean...
When I have a lot on my mind, I find it hard to quell my thoughts and drift away peacefully asleep.
The only thing i can do then, is to give up on sleeping. Watch the TV, or anything to get my mind to
stop wandering. Ernest Hemingway never fails to make you think deeper thoughts when reading his
works. This is the case In Ernest Hemingway s a clean well lighted place is a short story about two
waiters, and an old, deaf man in a late night cafe. The young waiter is tired and impatiently waiting for
the old man to leave so he can go home. The older waiter tries to explain to him why the old man is
there at the cafe instead of a bar or bodegas. The short story is a set of dialogs, and within these we
learn that some need a safe haven for their despair. Some need a clean and orderly place to contradict
the dirty, unorganized mess they have in their head. Hemingway s short story is about loneliness and
despair.
To start with, the setting of this story takes place in what is most likely Spain. The title plays a big role
in the setting. The older waiter is trying to communicate the reason the man is there in the middle of
the night, and that is because the cafe is in fact a clean, well lighted place. The lightness and order are
the reasons he is there. He could go anywhere else to drink, but he is an old deaf man that is there to
get away from the darkness of the night. He is lonely and has lost almost all hope. His only hope is
that he can have a clean well lighted place to hide

Speech On Molecular Gastronomy
I What is molecular gastronomy?
A Definition
Ice sphere cocktails, grenadine sirop caviar and disappearing transparent raviolis are all examples of
Molecular gastronomy. This discipline is a mixture of physics and chemistry and is used to transform
the taste and the texture of food. We commonly use the term Molecular Gastronomy in order to
describe a new style of cuisine. Chefs now use tools from the science laboratory, and unusual
ingredients from the food industry to expend their culinary possibilities. Officially, it is the scientific
discipline that explains the chemical and physical transformations and mechanisms that occur while
cooking. It also studies the social, artistic and technical side of gastronomy.

Outline For The Handmaid s Tale
I. Title: The Handmaid s Tale: Through the Lenses of Psychoanalysis and Deconstruction
II. Introduction
A. When reading a work of fiction, multiple ways exist in which to interpet the meaning held within
the story.
B. Utilizing literary theories when reading fictional literature increases the understanding of the
meaning behind the language of the story.
1. Psychoanalysis, specifically Lacanian mirror stage, provides one interpretation surrounding the
identification of self.
2. Application of Jacques Derrida s deconstruction, while some aspects are borrowed from
psychoanalysis, functions differently to obtain the interpretation.
C. Thesis: Within Margaret Atwood s novel, The Handmaid s Tale, both Lacan s mirror stage and
Derrida s deconstruction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Psychoanalysis Strength: Holland suggests we all read literature selectively, unconsciously projecting
our own fantasies into it and reshaping it to suit our individual identities (Rollin and West 12).
C. Analysis: Rollin and West state, If we acknowledge our personal involvement openly; if we make
clear the choices we have made and why we have made them, we have an opportunity to bring
ourselves to a poem, story, or play more completely than other theoretical systems allow (Rollin and
West 12).
D. Psychoanalysis Weakness: The inherent weakness surrounding Lacanian psychoanalytic theory is
in the basics of the theory formation. Lacan made selective use of citations for his theory and ignored
theories that may have unsubstantiated his claims. This lends itself to the realization of each
interpretation being solely related to the person doing the interpreting. (Billig 6)
E. Analysis: Findings associated with mirror stage theory are highly speculative and relative to the
individual reader; thus, no true fact can be gained from the literature.
F. Closing Sentence: Psychoanalysis, in general, provides a foundation on which to build theoretical
meaning of a literary work. However, as stated, the findings will be different to each person and
relevant only them. Each reader will have a different

Essay on Fahrenheit 451 Sybolism of Fire
The Symbolism of Fire
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, is a novel filled with many symbols. The symbolism used in this
novel varies from different animals to things in nature. One of the biggest symbols throughout the
novel is fire. Fire has multiple meanings in Fahrenheit 451, and is usually symbolized as something to
be feared. Throughout the novel, fire is something that people do not want, even though it can be so
much more than a bad thing. Fire can represent knowledge and awareness, rebirth and construction, as
well as destruction. Fire is depicted, throughout history, as a symbol of knowledge and awareness. Fire
is usually a symbol that appears in novels right at a time when the main character has an epiphany or

It is said in ancient Greek and Roman mythology that burning the body helps the soul to be purified
and pass on to the afterlife. Though fire can represent knowledge and rebirth, it is mainly depicted as a
destructive force. In the novel fire is used to burn books which are knowledge. By burning this
knowledge the society was kept in a confined situation where the amount of knowledge in everyone is
evenly distributed. It was a pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed.
(Bradbury 3) This quotation shows Montag s feelings towards burning in the beginning of the novel.
Fire destroyed the books. Fire destroyed homes. Fire destroyed the light in everyone. The fire was not
only used to destroy things but it kept the people of society in line. The fire may have been
represented as a disciplinary tool. By having a constant source of the fire, people had fear distilled in
them from the start. This made them subconsciously obedient even though they seemed to be
insubordinate. The overall theme of fire in Fahrenheit 451 is a feeling of destruction. With the right
surroundings and intentions it was used for so much more than that. It was used as a way to exhibit
knowledge. Above all, though the depiction of destruction is very influential, and the representation of
knowledge is somewhat there, the most important symbolism of fire in the novel

argues that even though he lacks the golden title, Rose is more popular than ever. Deford s report on

W. H. Auden Physically Bound
Physically Bound Critique of Musee Des Beaux Arts Central Theme W.H. Auden has one of the
biggest names in poetry for the twentieth century. He wrote countless of poems, each being relatable
and readable. One of his shining examples of his work is summed up into one brilliant writing, Musee
Des Beaux Arts. This poem covers all grounds in the most simple way you could understand, yet also
in the most complex. There is no area he lacks in and always impresses with the diversity that one
writing of his can cover. Not only does he emotionally tie you into the poem, but he also gives
spiritual insight and expresses political views. The background of this story happens to be the bitter
subject of war, which seems to be contradicting. Yet, he somehow is able to perceive war through his
art efficiently. The inspiration of this poem comes from not only war, but mainly from a painting that
shows the downfall of Icarus. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, I think that even more proves his point. That humans are just so instinctive without really thinking
things through that we miss more than we could ever imagine. The decision to literally not be aware of
our surroundings is more harmful than we would like to admit. Another yet poor choice is shown in
lines 18 20, the expensive ship... had somewhere to go. Proving that even if the ship was aware or not
of Icarus s fall it did not care enough to stop. The ship was either shamefully oblivious to what was
happening right next to it or it cruelly made the decision to not care regardless. The painful light of
human s actions is executed simply through Auden s interpretation of the painting in the museum. It is
clear that Auden believes we are too passive and poor with the power we hold. With fair judgement, I
agree the painting along with the poem makes sense that most would like to keep quiet about. Yet
another one of our many flaws, change can be good as long as we want it to

The Great Gatsby takes place in the 1920 s during the roaring twenties or called as the Jazz Age , a
period ending the Great Depression and an era where jazz and dancing become trendy. Gatsby does
not seem to be fit to be called great , instead he is fit for being called a determined man. Some may not

Nick agrees to Gatsby plans, Gatsby get excited and then in return for Nicks consideration. Later in
the chapter, once Daisy and Gatsby are once reunited they get into their own world and forget about

When Gatsby needed Nick it usually had to do with something serious. Of course it was the day Daisy
planned to confess to Tom that Daisy was planning to leave Tom. Later in the book, Gatsby get

book who sounded decent and kind compared to Tom and Daisy. But looking at the overall picture,
Gatsby is not a great man because he does not really have a goal for something

Cendrillon Analysis
Cendrillon is an opera comique in three tableaux by Pauline Verdi. This Operetta is composed by
seven voices and piano. The classic story of Cinderella is the plot basis of this work. However, in this
opera Pauline verdi interpret the traditional Cinderella story with some differences from the master
copy fairy tale. The evil stepmother is replaced by an unfriendly stepfather who did illegal things
earlier in his life, and through this he established a friendship with Barigoule. Another difference from
the recognizable Cinderella story is that Le Prince (The Prince) initially arrives at Cendrillon s home
camouflaged as a bum, where he witnesses her generosity as she gives him bread and tea, while her
step sisters weren t generous to him. At the point when Cendrillon arrives at the ball, Le Prince is
disguised as Barigoule, so when they become hopelessly enamored he realizes that she isn t infatuated
with him due to his crown. Furthermore, because Le Prince meets Cendrillon before the ball in this
opera, it seems that he falls in love with her kindness personality, and not just due to her gorgeous
appearance at the ball later in the story. At the end Cendrillon forgives her family for all of the pain
they have caused her and they sing a happy song together in the finale of the piece.
The cast of characters includes three sopranos, a mezzo soprano, two tenors and a baritone. It seems
very important to point out that Cendrillon by Viardot is a chamber operetta originally

Isolation In Richard Bone By Mr. Bone
In Richard Bone , Mr. Bone describes a self imposed emotional isolation. He is new to Spoon River

if they speak the truth or are making a last effort to glorify their deceased loved ones. In lines 8 9 Bone
discloses, And I chiseled for them whatever they wished, / All in ignorance of its truth. Initially, he is
emotionally isolated; however, Mr. Bone chooses to venture out of his comfort zone and into the
community where he learns the truths and complexities that compose the citizens of Spoon River. This
leads one to assume that when he found himself unhappy with his seclusion he sought to change his
situation, a worthwhile decision. As he lives among them he becomes privy to the truthfulness of the
epitaphs, but continues to carve the false eulogies although one can infer that Bone does this partially
to keep his standing in the community, as not to return to his state of isolation. ... Show more content

The Tragedy Hecuba Which Was Written By Euripides Essay
Kathleen:
Our play was the tragedy Hecuba which was written by Euripides in 424 BC, 7 years after the
beginning of the Peloponnesian and Archidamian War which was fought between Athens and Sparta.
Euripides was an Athenian who was born around 485BC on the island of Salamis which is off the
coast of Piraeus. He competed several times in Athens annual City Dionysia, which, as we know, was
a dramatic festival held in honour of Dionysus. This means that the majority of his audience would
have been Athenians, like himself.
So, just a quick introduction to the play. The key characters are HECUBA who was the Queen of Troy
and wife of the Trojan King Priam, THE GHOST OF POLYDORUS who was the son of Hecuba and
Priam, POLYXENA who was their daughter, POLYMESTOR who was the King of the Thrace and
was also married to Priam s eldest daughter, ODYSSEUS, who as we know was a Greek Homeric
hero and AGAMEMNON who was the Greek leader.
The story takes place just after the Trojan War while the Greeks are heading home. It begins with the
GHOST OF POLYDORUS telling a story of how he was murdered by POLYMESTOR for treasure
and his body was thrown into the sea. On their way home, the Greeks with their Trojan prisoners,
including HECUBA and POLYXENA, anchor in the same place and must sacrifice Polyxena in order
to placate the spirit of Achilles. After her daughter is sacrificed, Hecuba learns of POLYDORUS
death, driving her to madness. She knew that POLYMESTOR was the guilty party and with the

The Effect Of Groucho s Short Story Of Casablanca
The effect of Groucho s short history of Casablanca is to create a humour but yet also sarcasm
scenario. The letter says, It seems that in 1471, Ferdinand Balboa Warner, your great great grandfather
... had stumbled on the shores of Africa and, raising his aplentock, which he later turned in for a
hundred shares of common, named it Casablanca (Groucho). Groucho finds it ridiculous that the
Warner Brothers thinks they own the city name Casablanca. He makes up a how supposedly the
Warner Brothers were given the right to own the name not because they made a movie using the title
Casablanca.
4) It would really not be difficult to distinguish Ingrid Bergman and Harpo Marx. In Footnote 4 and 5
it says, The beautiful female star of Casablanca ... Harpo was Groucho s brother and part of the Marx
Brothers; he wore a red, curly haired wig (Footnote 4 and 5). This comes to show that it would not
difficult to distinguish a female from a male a red curly haired wig. Unless one is blind then one may
have some trouble. However, it is not the case in this situation. Groucho is trying to make an excuse to
contradict the Warner Brothers.
5) Marx offers so many examples of Brothers to create a sense of humor but also contradict the legal
name accusation of the Warner Brothers. Groucho says, What about Warner Brother ? Do you own
that too ... Professionally, we were brothers before you were (Marx). This comes to show that Groucho
wanted to make the Warner Brothers realize they also may

Solving Canada s Problem with Sugar Consumption
Regular coffee. Double double. It is easy to find this kind of conversation in any coffee store,
including Tim Horton, Starbucks, Second Cup and any other cafe brand. The phrase Double double
refers double amount of sugar and cream in the coffee. In the year of 2004, 110.0 grams (26
teaspoons) were be taken by Canadians averagely, 21% of which Canadians daily calorie assimilate.
(Langlios and Garriguet, 2011) Sugar seems to be indispensable for all Canadians; however excess
sugar in the diet can be translated into cardiovascular disease or other diseases. According to Public
Health Agency of Canada, 1.3 million of Canadian have been diagnostic have heart disease; in
addition 5% of patients are over 12 years old and 75% of them are over 75 years old. There are three
different ways to solve this issue, sugar substitutes, healthy diet and physical workout; however, all of
them have their own advantages and disadvantages. One solution is using sugar substitutes like
sucralose, aspartame, saccharin and xylitol to replace regular sugar (sucrose), which can help all
Canadians who have sweet teeth, for keeping away from CVD and obesity. The purpose of sugar
substitutes (artificial sweeteners) is to imitate the taste of regular sugar (sucrose), in bottommost
calories subscription. (Larsen, 2012) As the result people can enjoy the sweetness of food and also
control the amount of sugar intake at the same time. Short responding time is another benefit of
artificial sweeteners.

that didn t scare me, I started to say, we both started to laugh together. Now the both of us started to
walk back into the cabin. We got into our room and started to get all comfy in our beds and we feel

BEEP! BEEP! The alarm sang. I opened my eyes, yawned really loud and I forced myself to get out of

Essay on Branched Chain Amino Acids On Sports Performance
With sportsmen seeking alternatives to illegal and unsafe performance enhancing drugs, ergogenic
aids have come to their rescue. Ergogenic aids are supplements that enhance the performance of
athletes by improving their speed, strength and agility. A number of natural products are marketed as
ergogenic aids, which have found a ready market among sportspersons. Their biggest advantage is that
they are legal, apart from being safe and effective. Examples of such aids include branched chain
amino acids, creatine, medium chain triglycerides, pyruvates and vitamins.
I. What are Branched chain amino acids?
Branched chain amino acids (BCAA) are amino ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oxidation of these amino acids occurs in skeletal muscles. Though BCAAs are not used as a source of
energy in the body under normal conditions, they do contribute to energy generation during heavy and
strenuous exercise. The subsequent breakdown of these amino acids for energy generation during
heavy exercise leads to muscle damage and tear. Therefore, restoring them with the help of protein
supplements is extremely necessary to make up for the loss of proteins.
IV. Effect on athletic performance Innumerable studies have investigated the effects of BCAAs on the
performance of athletes. Studies and clinical trials have investigated their potential role in decreasing
fatigue, improving physical performance, increasing strength and affecting cognitive abilities. A few
of the most significant studies are discussed here. While BCAAs have been found to be of help in
enhancing sports performance, there is lack of sufficient evidence from clinical trials. Therefore, while
the intake of BCAAs has been proved to be of help in some cases, their overall benefit in enhancement
of sports performance is still debated and needs strong evidence.
Reduction of fatigue
BCAAs are reported to reduce central fatigue

Recitatif By Toni Morrison Analysis
Colors of Discrimination, a document written in English 240 critically analyzes Recitatif by Toni
Morrison and addresses discrimination based on race. In Toni Morrison s story Recitatif she illustrates
the issues of segregation and discrimination faced by people of different races and examines societal
views about these issues. Twyla and Roberta, two young girls of different races placed in foster care

other races because her mother says they have unclean hair and body odor (Morrison 131). Twyla and
Roberta meet several times years later and the first time Twyla sees Roberta where she works as a
waitress at the Howard Johnson, but Roberta pretends she has never met Twyla (Morrison 137). The

In John Cheever s short story, The Swimmer he writes about the loss of the American Dream. The
American Dream means many things to many people, but for Ned the main character it is being
wealthy, living the high life, hanging around friends and drinking around a pool (Cheever 2250). Ned
has been fooling himself into believing everything is okay financially as he travels from house to
house drinking and swimming in the pools in order to reach his house at the end of the housing
community (Cheever 2250 54). What Ned finds as he travels from each of his friends houses is a
change in his friends; some are happy to see him, whereas, others barely notice he is there or are away,
but he never awakens to the realization that things have changed until he gets to his old house
(Cheever 2250 54). When Ned gets to his house, it is dark and nobody is home and reality begins to
set in as Ned realizes he has lost his American

Hba1c s Role In Diabetic Analysis
Glycated haemoglobin is a measure of blood glucose levels over the previous 120 days and reflects
the time averaged blood glucose over the preceding 1 3 months, depending on the rate of change of
blood glucose levels. HbA1c, or glycosylated haemoglobin, is formed through the non enzymatic
binding of circulating glucose to haemoglobin (glycation). HbA1c is measured as the ratio of
glycosylated to non glycosylated haemoglobin (Sacks et al, 2002). Higher levels of glucose in the
blood contribute to more binding and consequent higher levels of glycosylated haemoglobin.
Glycation occurs over the entire 90 120 day life span of the red blood cell. HbA1c can consequently
be interpreted as an average of the blood glucose present over the past 3 4 months. Measurement of
HbA1c is accepted as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Decisions regarding treatment are often based on HbA1c. Although the American Diabetes
Association 2003 does not currently recommend HbA1c measurement for the diagnosis of diabetes,
studies have shown frequency distributions similar to those of fasting plasma glucose (FPG) used in
diagnosing diabetes, HbA1c is a more comprehensive measure of total glycaemic exposure than FPG
due to the representation of blood glucose in the postprandial state in

The Security Of Popular Password Managers
We study the security of popular password managers and their policies on automatically filling in Web
passwords. We examine browser built in password managers, mobile password managers, and 3rd
party managers. We observe significant differences in autofill policies among password managers.
Several autofill policies can lead to disastrous consequences where a remote network attacker can
extract multiple passwords from the user s password manager without any interaction with the user.
We experiment with these attacks and with techniques to enhance the security of password managers.
We show that our enhancements can be adopted by existing managers. 1 Introduction With the
proliferation of Web services, ordinary users are setting up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Our results. We study the security of password managers and propose ways to improve their security.
We begin with a survey of how ten popular password managers decide when to autofill passwords.
Different password managers employ very different autofill policies, exposing their users to different
risks. Next, we show that many corner cases in autofill policies can lead to significant attacks that
enable remote password extraction without the user s knowledge, simply by having the user connect to
a rogue router at a coffee shop. We believe that password managers can help strengthen credential
security rather than harm it. In Section 5 we propose ways to strengthen password managers so that
users who use them are more secure than users who type in passwords manually. We implemented the
modifications in the Chrome browser and report on their effectiveness. We conclude with a discussion
of related work on password managers. An example. We give many examples of password extraction
in the paper, but as a warm up we present one example here. Consider web sites that serve a login
page over HTTP, but submit the user s password over HTTPS (a setup intended to prevent an
eavesdropper from reading the password but actually leaves the site vulnerable). As we show in
Section 4, about 17% of the Alexa Top 500 websites

The Role Celebricities Play in Peoples Life
Today public figures such as celebrities are looked up to by people of all ages. Often viewed as role
models, celebrities appear on television with the entire world watching, and are known for their
wealth, talent and fame. A role model is defined as A person who serves as an example of the values,
attitudes, and behaviors associated with a role. ( Role model. Definition 1. Web). Whether celebrities
enjoy being in the spotlight or not, they are looked up to by millions of people around the world and
thus have a social obligation to behave well. Such role models have an effect on the lives of people in
society as they have the ability to shape the views, ideas, and actions of their fans. It is important for
celebrities to be positive and responsible in displaying good morals and values because many
individuals are dependent on the media role models of today. Because of the large role celebrities play
in society they should be obligated to be positive and influential role models. Many individuals would
argue that in celebrities private lives, they should not have to act as a positive influential role, as they
are out of the spotlight. After all it is their private life, so technically it should be no one s concern
what they do in their free time. However, before people become celebrities, they are aware of the little
to no privacy they are going to receive from the public. This is one of the unfortunate disadvantages of
being famous. With the media and paparazzi on their

Essay on Current Account Deficits
Carbaugh (2011) asks, Can the United States Continue to Run Current Account Deficits Indefinitely?
(p. 361). Ultimately in the long term the answer is no, but the question could be rephrased to ask: (1)
Does the United States unique position in the world economy allow the country to safely run
persistent external deficits? and (2) can persistent U.S. deficits in the current and payments accounts
be adjusted without bringing about economic recession or crisis? Japan, China, and Middle Eastern oil
countries have enabled this deficit to continue by heavily investing in U.S. Treasury securities
(Carbaugh, 2011). Because foreigners desire to purchase American assets, Carbaugh (2011) concludes

dollar. (p. 5)
Deutsche Bank (Karczmar, 2004) suggests that the euro could eventually challenge the dollar as a
reserve currency, but the euro is still far behind the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency, representing just
24.2 percent of the world banking reserves in the 2013 third quarter (International Monetary Fund,
2013). Numerous economists endorse the United States ability to safely continue its external deficits.
Cooper (2001) poses the argument in its simplest form:
It is often suggested that the large current account deficit poses a serious financing problem for the
United States. Each year, the lament goes, the United States must attract net inflows of capital
sufficient to cover the huge current shortfall. But this proposition gets the logic backward: the U.S.
deficit is financed by net capital inflows only in an ex post accounting sense. In economic terms it is
more nearly correct to say that net capital inflows cause the current account deficit. (p. 218)
Likewise, Edwards (2005) suggests that since the U.S. current account deficit poses no threat, there
are no fundamental reasons to justify a significant fall in the value of the dollar (p. 212). Bertaut,
Kamin, and Thomas (2009) observe that with the real multilateral

The Environment Is An Important Aspect Of Shaping People...
Signage Environment Environment is an important aspect in shaping people and objects. The
environment can contribute to the presentation of a signage of an establishment to sell merchandise or
food. To make a place presentable, people usually focus on the environment that it s in. Whether the
environment is unkempt or upscale will determine if cliental will eat or shop there. For example, if
someone were to go to a restaurant they ve never been to, they d be observant of the surroundings.
They would question if the restaurant looked clean, if the food was safe to eat, if the people who make
the food are clean, and if the restaurant itself was presentable. When people go to famous eateries,
they expect the consistency in each restaurant. It s good for the business itself to keep its consistency
for travelers and returning customers.
Greenville, Texas The town of Greenville is well known in the East Dallas area. This town is much
larger than the surrounding towns such as Caddo Mills and Lone Oak, so it has more shopping places
and eateries. People who are from the smaller towns see Greenville as their metropolitan area, they see
job opportunities when they go there and a variety of choices. But some parts of Greenville aren t as
prospering, such as Downtown Greenville. This part of Greenville is much older and isn t as popular
as the part that stands through I 30, so not many people go there to eat. Although each franchise of an
eatery should be alike to each other, they

Determinism And Free-Will
In this essay I will be addressing whether or not human beings are morally responsible for their
actions. For one to be morally responsible for his/her action they must take into account that the
decision being made was from their own free will. Leading us now to whether human beings have free
will or is it determined. If we were to say determinism is true, then no individual should be praised or
punished for their actions due to the fact it was not based on their own free action. If free will applies,
he/she who commits an act practicing their own free will deserves to be praised or punished for such
an act. It could be argued that due to determinism people are not morally responsible for their actions,
however this would be ridiculous. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of an external force could be parents supporting a type of behaviour thereby encouraging
it. On the other hand an internal force would be driven by hormones. Free will believers assume that
things are a bit difficult. They acknowledge that there is internal and external factors, but yet they still
believe that humans are free to choose their own behaviour. Stace theorizes the idea of compatibility
or soft determinism. He argues that free will exists but to an extent which is known as soft
determinism. Stace defines free act as free acts are all caused by desire, motives, or by some sort of
psychological state of the agent s mind . Unfree acts on the other hand are those whose immediate
causes are states of affairs external to the agent . Soft determinism is the view that determinism and
free will are compatible. It is a form of compatibilism. Soft determinism consists of two main claims:
1. Determinism is true. Every human action or event, was causally determined. For example, if you
drank coffee instead of tea last night, you could not have chosen otherwise given your exact

Hydrogen you need the heat and energy from the big bang, the only problem was that their was only
one big bang. This question stumped scientists for a long time until they learned about supernovas.
They learned that in the center of a supernova there is similar condition to the big bang. This heat
allowed protons, neutrons, and electrons to bond in ways never seen before the first supernova
forming heavier elements that are so vital to life.

  • 2. Environmental Issues in North America and the World Introduction North America has been struggling immensely since the last century with air and water pollution, deforestation, and overpopulation. These struggles are due to poor prevention planning and industrial manifestation. Pollution is changing the atmosphere much sooner than expected and global warming is predicted to overwhelm the atmosphere within the next half of a century. In order to sustain the environment and atmosphere humans must take immediate action right now. The longer we wait to start immediate prevention, the sooner our air and water supplies will diminish. Unfortunately, it is not only North America that needs to change it is many other countries and regions of the world. Prevention and preservation is up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Air Pollution and Global Warming The biggest cause of air pollution in North America comes from carbon dioxide emissions. Fossil fuel, electricity, and vehicle technology has been an enormous contribution to the emission of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are gases that attract radiation from the sun into the earth s exterior and its environment. Producing an overabundance of greenhouse gases at a time may dramatically change the atmosphere as we know it today. The ozone layer that protects human beings and many other species of plants and animals from the sun s excruciating rays may deplete or be damaged due to too much pollution. The United States heavy demand of fossil fuels for transportation is causing extreme confliction and competitiveness with many other countries. Japan became so concerned with these issues that they devised a plan that could bring countries together to compromise this extremely difficult issue. The Kyoto Protocol is a negotiation put together by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The treaty was compromised in Kyoto, Japan in 1997. Countries that formally approve this protocol devote to decrease the amount of released greenhouse gases, or trade the number of emissions allowed from sustaining or raising the emissions of greenhouse gases. The United States of America was not among these countries that signed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Plan For New Homes With the economic crash that started in 2007 and continued for a couple years countless men and woman lost their jobs and homes. Due in part to the ability to over extend themselves they were maxed out in their credit to debt ratios, struggling just to make ends meet. Thankfully, with the downfall they experienced, these foreclosure and short sell victims have finally been able to bounce back. Many today are beginning to enter back into the housing market looking for new homes, although this time instead of trying to find the max they can afford, they are now more concerned with the payment they can afford. These newly educated buyers have learned a few ways to come back stronger than ever and stay on top thanks to their shortcomings from the past. One of such ways is by a federal program called The back to work program , which helps out those who lost their homes due to the crash. This program is federally insured and offers buyers the second chance they need in as little as 12 months after a foreclosure or bankruptcy. The buyer must be able to prove that there was at least a 20% loss in income before the action took place as well. Although many if the victims are afraid to get back into the game, they are finding more and better ways than ever before. Another possibility that has become ever increasingly popular is the rent to own option. Rent to own is really a lease option, which means that the buyer gets the home now and pays monthly rent for a predetermined amount of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Sermon On The Mount Essay CHAPTER 1 SERMON ON THE MOUNT: GENERAL OUTLOOK 1.0 INTRODUCTION In this chapter we are dealing with Sermon on the Mount in a general outlook. Here we will mainly see the Sermon on the Mount in the gospel of Matthew, its connection with the Old Testament and the New Testament setting of the Sermon on the Mount. 1.1 SERMON ON THE MOUNT IN THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW The Sermon on the Mount is recorded in the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh chapters of the Gospel According to St. Matthew. 1.1.1 MATTHEW THE EVANGELIST Tradition attributes the authorship of the first Gospel to the Apostle Matthew who sat under the tax booth and followed Jesus (9:9f; 10:3). Today few hold the view that Matthew the tax collector is the author of the Gospel. While this Matthew may have been an original source for the Gospel, the final form as we now have it seems to be the work of a Gentile Christian who was well versed in the Hebrews but who made enough mistakes. It is some time difficult to state with exactness the authorship of ancient writings. The name Matthew means gift of the Lord. Mark and Luke, in the story of his calling, name him Levi. Perhaps this was his original name, and he received a new name from Jesus when he became a disciple. (It has also been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Punk Rock, in its subculture, managed to break down many barriers of expression and language. It made an indentation in the commercial music industry. It provided a fresh alternative to a boring, stagnant music scene. But most of all, punk s legacy lies in its introduction of self employment and activism, most essential to Britain at the time. It illustrated that anyone can do it themselves, without reliance on the commercial media or the luxury of having financial abundance. Ninety s sitcoms seem to be on the rise, whether it s old shows being added to Netflix such as Fresh Prince of Bel Air, rumours of reunions such as Friends, or revivals like Boy Meets World. Netflix has confirmed that Full House will be joining this club with its revival called Fuller House. The Tanners are back, along with Kimmy Gibbler. The new plot surrounds DJ Tanner, who is widowed (very similar beginning to Full House) and the family coming together to help her raise her family. Previous revivals such as Boy Meets World has been somewhat successful, but it fans aren t it s originals. Because it s on the Disney Channel, most of its viewers are younger. This is because of time passing. Many are interested in the plot continuing, but sometimes the characters people grew up watching are not as relatable. • 7. The Issue Of Capital Punishment Essay Today, one of the most debated issues in the Criminal Justice System is the issue of capital punishment or the death penalty. Having said that, crime is imminent. We could have an unexpected encounter with a criminal committing crime on a daily. Criminals have become a part of our daily lives. Does this mean we should let them prevail in our society? No, absolutely not. Eliminating crime and criminals is our duty, and we must not ignore it. Getting the rightly accused to a just punishment is very important. Some criminals commit a crime because they have no other option to survive, but some do it for fun. I do not advocate death penalty for everybody. A person, who stole a piece of clothing from a department store, definitely does not deserve the death penalty. However, a serial killer, who kills people just because or for malicious reasons, definitely deserves the death penalty. The death penalty should continue, in order to eliminate the garbage out of our society. Not everybody deserves to die, but some people definitely do. I support the death penalty for several reasons. Primarily, I believe that the death penalty serves as a deterrent and assists with reducing crime. Moreover, the death penalty assures safety to our society by eliminating these criminals. As stated in our text, deterrence is a sentencing goal or a crime prevention strategy that seeks to inhibit criminal behavior in either the offender (specific deterrence) or in the others (general deterrence by using ... People with high powered jobs in the course of their professional or business occupation include bribery and corruption, tax evasion and embezzling funds and other types of fraud. These crimes go unreported because these people are not under scrutiny or are not being observed because they have the authority no one is above them. In addition, these crimes are dealt with in a different way. Rather than being handed to the policing authorities to be prosecuted in court, they are sacked, and their professional title would be striped of their possession. An example of White collar crime would be of the American company Enron. Enron grew unexpectedly to be America s 7th largest company, employing 21,000 members of staff in more than 40 countries. The firm s success was later to be explained by an elaborate scam. Enron had deceived their employees about their profits and stands accuse of a range of inexplicit deals, including concealing debts. More than six moths after a criminal inquiry was announced, the guilty parties have still not been brought to justice (CBC news). This means that crime statistics provide evidence that the middle and upper classes are unrepresented, thus translating to much importance to Marxists. Due to the fact that the higher classes are benefiting from crime, as they remain un prosecuted, it supports the theory that the bourgeoisie in a Capitalist society are the ruling class. • 10. Tennyson s The Arrow And The Charge Of The Light Brigade Out of all the poems Tennyson wrote, The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade was the ones that have been selected. Tennyson was one of the greats that came from the Victorian era. Tennyson wasn t just known for being a poet, he was also known for writing plays and music. There will be some comparing and contrasting of The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade on the poetic devices Tennyson used and what inspired him to write both these poems. Tennyson was inspired to write The Eagle when he went to the mountain. Even though The Eagle was a short poem, it had a lot of imagery. He clasps the crag with crooked hands a good use of imagery in this poem. It is also a metaphor because Tennyson wrote it as if the eagle had hands like a human. It explained about how the eagle lives in its natural habitat. The Eagle had a rhyme scheme of (a, a, a) which is a triple rhyme, where the stanzas have three lines and they all rhyme. The poem also contains alliteration and simile. And like a thunderbolt he falls is a simile that was used that could be used to describe the eagle falling. In all cases we would think Tennyson meant the eagle was falling fast like a thunderbolt but he wasn t. Although the unwary reader might associate the swift, downward flight of the eagle with a lightning bolt, Tennyson does not use this term (Jackson 26). He was wording it as the sound of the rock landing a thunderbolt (Jackson 26). The poem uses alliteration such as He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Design And Construction Of Australia 2 DESIGN CONSTRUCTION 2.1 Introduction As the world s population increases airlines along with airports have been experiencing higher air transport demands. These demand not only passengers arriving and departing from airports, but also from growths in freight. Higher demands for passenger and freight throughput has caused major airports to struggle to efficiently accommodate air transport flow in busy periods, causing congestion and delays (Solak et al. 2009; Zhang Zhang 2006). The two fore mentioned possibilities would require the management of multi airport systems (De Neufville 1995). 2.2 Literature Review With long term growths in passenger and freight volumes expected in airports all around the world, airports are planning and implementing various strategies to meet those expected future demands (Solak et al. 2009; Kwakkel et al. 2010). A planner s proposals and strategies in which an airport can implement over a number of years in order to facilitate the forecasted growth of passengers and freight is known as an airport master plan (Kwakkel et al. 2010). Bradley (2010) states that an airport s capacity is a result of a number of different combined factors. These include how much aircraft movement over a specific period its runway can handle, the number of aircrafts its apron can accommodate, as well as how much incoming and outgoing passengers and freight its terminal can facilitate per hour (Caves 1994; Bradley 2010). An airport master plan can include airport expansion, maintenance and upgrades, the development of a new airport or even the utilisation of multiple airports in a city. • 13. William Faulkner s `` A Rose For Emily `` While authors like Edgar Allen Poe and Stephen King are known for their creepy writings, William Faulkner has achieved a level of disturbing that is hardly reached in short stories. A Rose for Emily is a story that shows how the insanity of one woman is able to shock an entire town, even in death. When first reading A Rose for Emily, anyone can see how twisted Emily Grierson is. Not only for the fact that she was sleeping in the same bed as a corpse, but because this was not the first time that she had kept a dead body in her house. While her family does have a history of mental instability, stating that, remembering old lady Wyatt, her great aunt, had gone completely crazy at last (section II), she is able to out do the impossible and create an aura of mystery that surrounds her both during life and death. After reading this story, it makes the audience question not only the reasoning that Emily has behind not only killing Homer, but keeping his body trapped in her house up until she met death as well. It also brings to attention how much the townsfolk actually influenced the progression of insanity that caused Emily and those around her, so much turmoil. For example, if the townsfolk had not used Emily as a source of entertainment and gossip, would she have stayed the recluse? While, the townsfolk are not to blame, it makes readers wonder: what if? Another question that I had while reading this story is, who was the narrator? The narrator, whoever they are, is able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is a very common occurrence for society now days. Society values someone s physical appearance more than who they are behind the mask. No one who retweeted this meme (which refers to rape in a humorous way) stopped to think that maybe he was in jail for a serious crime (that we can all come together to agree with is wrong) like murdering a young child or even rape. Society has been molded to, in a way, to be more accepting of someone who is more attractive. Let s picture this mugshot being of a dark skin African American with the same tattoos on his face, with nappy hair and was not as attractive. People would either A) scroll past it, or B) focus on the charges. There would be bias against him because he is not as appealing to the eye, even though his charge was speeding tickets. Apart from society s value of appearance over content, because he is light skinned and attractive we don t have prejudice against him. We tend to associate, as unfortunate as it may be, darker skinned African Americans with heinous crimes and violence. Although the meme may make light of Rape, we accept it and find it humorous because we have the mindset of Meeks is attractive and light skinned, he can t have done something like rape. ... • 15. Key Results Of Testing For Ppp Essay 5.1 Introduction Following the methodology section, this chapter is going to present the main findings of the PPP test and relevant information, graphs and tables will be shown as well. The purpose of this part is to provide key results of testing for PPP in order to facilitate the following detailed discussions. It is no doubt that this section can be viewed as the core of the whole project because it depends on a variety of econometric tools to evaluate the financial data. The findings consist of two major aspects: the one is on the examination of the strong version of PPP, namely APPP; the other is on the test of RPPP, also known as the weak form of PPP. 5.2 Findings of Testing for APPP As stated earlier, the APPP is based on the law of one price, stating that the real exchange rate is equal to one. The formula is written by: (5) For the convenience of our research, the equation above can be simplified to: (6) where Et represents the nominal bilateral exchange rate, Pt* is the CPI in Japan, Pt means the Indian CPI. Before analysing, what should do is to transmute the raw data into the natural logarithm form. According to Jia and Rathi (2008), the major cause of transformation is that taking natural logarithms not only indicates the elasticity of economic variables, but eliminates the issue of heteroscedasticity efficiently. If an econometric model is heteroscedastic, the test of significance for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The only thing i can do then, is to give up on sleeping. Watch the TV, or anything to get my mind to stop wandering. Ernest Hemingway never fails to make you think deeper thoughts when reading his works. This is the case In Ernest Hemingway s a clean well lighted place is a short story about two waiters, and an old, deaf man in a late night cafe. The young waiter is tired and impatiently waiting for the old man to leave so he can go home. The older waiter tries to explain to him why the old man is there at the cafe instead of a bar or bodegas. The short story is a set of dialogs, and within these we learn that some need a safe haven for their despair. Some need a clean and orderly place to contradict the dirty, unorganized mess they have in their head. Hemingway s short story is about loneliness and despair. To start with, the setting of this story takes place in what is most likely Spain. The title plays a big role in the setting. The older waiter is trying to communicate the reason the man is there in the middle of the night, and that is because the cafe is in fact a clean, well lighted place. The lightness and order are the reasons he is there. He could go anywhere else to drink, but he is an old deaf man that is there to get away from the darkness of the night. The symbolism used in this novel varies from different animals to things in nature. One of the biggest symbols throughout the novel is fire. Fire has multiple meanings in Fahrenheit 451, and is usually symbolized as something to be feared. Throughout the novel, fire is something that people do not want, even though it can be so much more than a bad thing. Fire can represent knowledge and awareness, rebirth and construction, as well as destruction. Fire is depicted, throughout history, as a symbol of knowledge and awareness. It is said in ancient Greek and Roman mythology that burning the body helps the soul to be purified and pass on to the afterlife. Though fire can represent knowledge and rebirth, it is mainly depicted as a destructive force. In the novel fire is used to burn books which are knowledge. By burning this knowledge the society was kept in a confined situation where the amount of knowledge in everyone is evenly distributed. It was a pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed. (Bradbury 3) This quotation shows Montag s feelings towards burning in the beginning of the novel. Fire destroyed the books. Fire destroyed homes. Fire destroyed the light in everyone. The fire was not only used to destroy things but it kept the people of society in line. The fire may have been represented as a disciplinary tool. By having a constant source of the fire, people had fear distilled in them from the start. This made them subconsciously obedient even though they seemed to be insubordinate. The overall theme of fire in Fahrenheit 451 is a feeling of destruction. With the right surroundings and intentions it was used for so much more than that. It was used as a way to exhibit knowledge. Above all, though the depiction of destruction is very influential, and the representation of knowledge is somewhat there, the most important symbolism of fire in the novel ... He wrote countless of poems, each being relatable and readable. One of his shining examples of his work is summed up into one brilliant writing, Musee Des Beaux Arts. This poem covers all grounds in the most simple way you could understand, yet also in the most complex. There is no area he lacks in and always impresses with the diversity that one writing of his can cover. Not only does he emotionally tie you into the poem, but he also gives spiritual insight and expresses political views. The background of this story happens to be the bitter subject of war, which seems to be contradicting. Yet, he somehow is able to perceive war through his art efficiently. Proving that even if the ship was aware or not of Icarus s fall it did not care enough to stop. The ship was either shamefully oblivious to what was happening right next to it or it cruelly made the decision to not care regardless. The painful light of human s actions is executed simply through Auden s interpretation of the painting in the museum. It is clear that Auden believes we are too passive and poor with the power we hold. With fair judgement, I agree the painting along with the poem makes sense that most would like to keep quiet about. The classic story of Cinderella is the plot basis of this work. However, in this opera Pauline verdi interpret the traditional Cinderella story with some differences from the master copy fairy tale. The evil stepmother is replaced by an unfriendly stepfather who did illegal things earlier in his life, and through this he established a friendship with Barigoule. Another difference from the recognizable Cinderella story is that Le Prince (The Prince) initially arrives at Cendrillon s home camouflaged as a bum, where he witnesses her generosity as she gives him bread and tea, while her step sisters weren t generous to him. At the point when Cendrillon arrives at the ball, Le Prince is disguised as Barigoule, so when they become hopelessly enamored he realizes that she isn t infatuated with him due to his crown. Furthermore, because Le Prince meets Cendrillon before the ball in this opera, it seems that he falls in love with her kindness personality, and not just due to her gorgeous appearance at the ball later in the story. At the end Cendrillon forgives her family for all of the pain they have caused her and they sing a happy song together in the finale of the piece. The Tragedy Hecuba Which Was Written By Euripides Essay Kathleen: Our play was the tragedy Hecuba which was written by Euripides in 424 BC, 7 years after the beginning of the Peloponnesian and Archidamian War which was fought between Athens and Sparta. Euripides was an Athenian who was born around 485BC on the island of Salamis which is off the coast of Piraeus. He competed several times in Athens annual City Dionysia, which, as we know, was a dramatic festival held in honour of Dionysus. This means that the majority of his audience would have been Athenians, like himself. So, just a quick introduction to the play. The key characters are HECUBA who was the Queen of Troy and wife of the Trojan King Priam, THE GHOST OF POLYDORUS who was the son of Hecuba and Priam, POLYXENA who was their daughter, POLYMESTOR who was the King of the Thrace and was also married to Priam s eldest daughter, ODYSSEUS, who as we know was a Greek Homeric hero and AGAMEMNON who was the Greek leader. The story takes place just after the Trojan War while the Greeks are heading home. It begins with the GHOST OF POLYDORUS telling a story of how he was murdered by POLYMESTOR for treasure and his body was thrown into the sea. On their way home, the Greeks with their Trojan prisoners, including HECUBA and POLYXENA, anchor in the same place and must sacrifice Polyxena in order to placate the spirit of Achilles. However, it is not the case in this situation. Groucho is trying to make an excuse to contradict the Warner Brothers. 5) Marx offers so many examples of Brothers to create a sense of humor but also contradict the legal name accusation of the Warner Brothers. Hba1c s Role In Diabetic Analysis Glycated haemoglobin is a measure of blood glucose levels over the previous 120 days and reflects the time averaged blood glucose over the preceding 1 3 months, depending on the rate of change of blood glucose levels. HbA1c, or glycosylated haemoglobin, is formed through the non enzymatic binding of circulating glucose to haemoglobin (glycation). HbA1c is measured as the ratio of glycosylated to non glycosylated haemoglobin (Sacks et al, 2002). Higher levels of glucose in the blood contribute to more binding and consequent higher levels of glycosylated haemoglobin. Glycation occurs over the entire 90 120 day life span of the red blood cell. Our results. We study the security of password managers and propose ways to improve their security. We begin with a survey of how ten popular password managers decide when to autofill passwords. Different password managers employ very different autofill policies, exposing their users to different risks. Next, we show that many corner cases in autofill policies can lead to significant attacks that enable remote password extraction without the user s knowledge, simply by having the user connect to a rogue router at a coffee shop. We believe that password managers can help strengthen credential security rather than harm it. In Section 5 we propose ways to strengthen password managers so that users who use them are more secure than users who type in passwords manually. We implemented the modifications in the Chrome browser and report on their effectiveness. We conclude with a discussion of related work on password managers. An example. It is important for celebrities to be positive and responsible in displaying good morals and values because many individuals are dependent on the media role models of today. Because of the large role celebrities play in society they should be obligated to be positive and influential role models. Ultimately in the long term the answer is no, but the question could be rephrased to ask: (1) Does the United States unique position in the world economy allow the country to safely run persistent external deficits? and (2) can persistent U.S. deficits in the current and payments accounts be adjusted without bringing about economic recession or crisis? Japan, China, and Middle Eastern oil countries have enabled this deficit to continue by heavily investing in U.S. Treasury securities (Carbaugh, 2011). Numerous economists endorse the United States ability to safely continue its external deficits. Cooper (2001) poses the argument in its simplest form: It is often suggested that the large current account deficit poses a serious financing problem for the United States. Each year, the lament goes, the United States must attract net inflows of capital sufficient to cover the huge current shortfall. But this proposition gets the logic backward: the U.S. deficit is financed by net capital inflows only in an ex post accounting sense. In economic terms it is more nearly correct to say that net capital inflows cause the current account deficit. (p. 218) Likewise, Edwards (2005) suggests that since the U.S. current account deficit poses no threat, there are no fundamental reasons to justify a significant fall in the value of the dollar (p. 212). The environment can contribute to the presentation of a signage of an establishment to sell merchandise or food. To make a place presentable, people usually focus on the environment that it s in. Whether the environment is unkempt or upscale will determine if cliental will eat or shop there. For example, if someone were to go to a restaurant they ve never been to, they d be observant of the surroundings. They would question if the restaurant looked clean, if the food was safe to eat, if the people who make the food are clean, and if the restaurant itself was presentable. When people go to famous eateries, they expect the consistency in each restaurant. It s good for the business itself to keep its consistency for travelers and returning customers. For one to be morally responsible for his/her action they must take into account that the decision being made was from their own free will. Leading us now to whether human beings have free will or is it determined. If we were to say determinism is true, then no individual should be praised or punished for their actions due to the fact it was not based on their own free action. If free will applies, he/she who commits an act practicing their own free will deserves to be praised or punished for such an act. It could be argued that due to determinism people are not morally responsible for their actions, however this would be ridiculous. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stace defines free act as free acts are all caused by desire, motives, or by some sort of psychological state of the agent s mind . Unfree acts on the other hand are those whose immediate causes are states of affairs external to the agent . Soft determinism is the view that determinism and free will are compatible.
