Gibbon Research Paper
Gibbons eat a wide variety of foods. Their diet is comprised mostly of fruit, but also contains leaves,
flowers and insects. Figs are the primary component of a gibbon s diet, making up about a quarter of
what gibbons eat daily. Depending on the availability and scarcity of other foods however, figs can be
up to fifty percent of their daily intake. Diet varies by season and availability. For example, during
cooler seasons the availability of flowers is higher, and during hotter, wetter seasons fresh fruit is more
abundant. Regardless of the changes in availability however, fruit always comprises at least fifty
percent of a gibbon s diet. Beyond fruit, gibbons have been found to eat over one hundred different
species of plants. Leaves, vines,

Why I Am Against Human Experimentation
I am the opposition and I am against human experimentation.I am against human experimentation
because it harms people.I say this because multiple people have been murdered by these experiments
for over the past 100 years. In the experimentation people have been saved, but the experiment could
have had a sin affect that affected the person. The sin affect could then go extremely wrong, and could
lead that person to death.
The other reason I am against the resolution is that some people do experiments without the person s
authorization. The reason I m saying this is because if you have a family member or a loved one and
they are very sick ,and they have no one with them and they decided to call a doctor for help the
doctor might not answer. If there

Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes
Don Quixote
The Ballet performance Don Quixote is based on the worldwide known novel Don Quixote de la
Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. It was originally performed by the Bolshoi Ballet of Moscow and
choreographed by Marius Petipa in the year of 1869 with the music of Ludwig Minkus. Now days
there are numerous Ballets performing it all over the world. The Miami City Ballet has adopted this
performance as part of their season content, giving the Spanish play a hint of Latin American taste
with several Hispanic dancers. The Ballet of Miami performed this Ballet in the Fort Lauderdale
Performing Art Center on Friday 21 of March, and presented the story of Don Quixote in three main
acts. In the first act is represented a public square in Seville where Basilio, an impoverished barber
young man, flirts with young Kitri who has been determined to marry a Gamache. Gamache is a rich
old toreador and is willing to pay Lorenzo, Kitri s father, for marrying her. In this act Don Quixote and
Sancho Panza arrive to the town and try to protect Kitri from her father and Gamache. Finally they
Kitri and Basilio escape from the town with Don Quixote and Sancho, but Gamache and Lorenzo are
going behind them. Following the first act comes the second where the characters arrive into a gypsy
encampment, the gypsies dance for Kitri and Basilio to welcome them but when Gamache and
Lorenzo arrive they confuse them and help the lovers to escape again. Later on Don Quixote fins a

The Affordable Care Act
The Affordable Care Act established by Barack Obama it is a revolutionary law that was passed to
change the healthcare system in America. The affordable care act has many pro and cons. Is the
Affordable care a good idea? The Affordable care act was put in place to help maintain healthcare
spending cost, reduce the amount of people who are uninsured, create universal healthcare, expanding
coverage for young adults and to make prescription drug coverage more affordable for seniors. In the

There were a lot of complaints from people when they found out that there was a penalty for not
signing up for health insurance. This is very understandable why people would be upset because that
isn t fair, however it is fair if everyone else has to have insurance and pay for it and other s do not.
What a lot of people had to realize was that people with pre existing conditions and people with out
would not have to worry about huge medical bills due to the fact of Obama care making sure they are

The Affordable Care Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama in March of 2010. The
Affordable Care Act was created by Barack Obama to help Begin the process to reform the health care

that? There were more than 44 million people that did not have medical insurance because they couldn

The Problem of Acid Rain
Acid rain is a widespread problem, one that plagues the environment the world over. Acid Rain is the
resultant by product of burning fossil fuel which in turn mixes with moisture in the atmosphere and
falls to the ground as rain, snow, sleet, etc. Acid deposition is a more precise name than acid rain
because acid can precipitate in several forms, as stated previously. It can also combine with dry
particles and fall to the ground; therefore it is called dry deposition whereas acid coming down in rain
is called wet deposition.
Generally, the public has known about air pollution since the Roman philosopher, Seneca, remarked
on his hometown s polluted skies in AD 61. Even though people were aware of the problem, they
chose to remain ignorant to its effects and repercussions. Up until the last century people have ignored
the problem of air pollution including air pollution s most dangerous problem, acid rain. Acid rain is
devastating to the ecosystem and is one of the most pressing environmental issues today.
Acid rain forms in the atmosphere from chemicals created by the burning of fossil fuels. When coal
and oil are burned they release sulfur dioxide (SO2) and two nitric oxides, nitric oxide (NO) and
nitrogen dioxide (NO2) designated by the symbol NOX. These dangerous chemicals come from the
smoke that pours from factory chimneys and exhaust from car tail pipes. Once released, sulfur dioxide
and nitrogen oxides react with other chemicals in the air, water

access to federal funding that will assist them in the expansion of mutual assistance practices where
communities share equipment that is rarely used. Also, there is the development of effective
technologies and the significant reduction in cost has allowed the once out of reach equipment to be

The importance of the community s involvement in emergency management has propelled FEMA to
introduce the Whole Community concept in December 2011 in disaster preparedness (pp. 108). This
approach engages all members of the community including individuals, government at all levels,
organizations, businesses, community groups and others involved in preparing the community as a
whole to deal with disasters. It is the philosophical belief of FEMA that utilizing leveraging all the
resources of the the collective team in the community will help to prepare, protect, respond to and
recover from, and mitigate against all disasters. The engagement of the community in an authentic
dialogue will also empower individuals to identify their needs, the existing resources and find out
ways to address any shortfall in them. FEMA also reinforces that with the community s involvement,
FEMA is better able to reach and deliver services more efficiently and cost effectively to those
affected in a disaster.
One of the most important concerns of community members is how they will evacuate in the event of
a disaster. FEMA has developed the National Prevention Framework (NPF) that outlines the whole
community approach to a disaster discovery of intelligence or information regarding an imminent
threat to homeland and security. Although, communities have participated in some form of evacuation
planning as part of emergency management, not many have been able to conduct a

yourself. (Deepka Chopra). In Breath, Eyes, Memory, Martine and Sophie both had many struggles
that were caused or involved by one another. Breath, Eyes, Memory, by Edwidge Danticat, is an
intriguing story about an impoverished, close knit family that experiences many challenges through

pressed the pestle into it (Danticat 87). The reader is able to depict Sophie getting a pestle and pushing
it into her vagina. This is a struggle Sophie had to cope with because it caused her a lot of pain. To
help deal with her pain, Sophie took therapy classes and had many practices: I didn t feel guilty about
burning my mother s name anymore (Danticat 207). A person can imagine Sophie writing down
Martine s name and throwing it into the fire. Martine has caused Sophie a lot of pain so burning her
pain can open doors for a new beginning. While Sophie had her own struggles, Martine was struggling
with the baby: She stabbed her stomach with an old rusty knife (Danticat 229). Martine pleaded for a
lot of people to help her. Most of Martine s struggle came from how Sophie was conceived. The act of
Martine gruesomely stabbing her stomach helps the reader visualize how she committed suicide and
how she could not have the baby. Danticat uses imagery to develop how the struggles of Martine and

To become vertically integrated, a company trying to enter the strategic group would need to acquire
several companies in different areas of the entertainment industry. These acquisitions would be highly
capital intensive and very risky for a new entrant. Another barrier to entry is the product
differentiation in the strategic group. Each company in the strategic group has certain channels that are
considered premium channels. Cable providers are willing to pay more for these channels, which they
end up having to charge the end consumer more for. These premium channels differentiate content
providers from one another. The content providing business is a highly capital intensive business.
Therefore, the capital required to enter the strategic group and compete is extremely high. To calculate
the capital required for a new entrant, we first found the average revenue of the strategic group (~$7.5
billion). We then assumed that a new entrant would have to capture about a third of this average to
even make an impact in the industry. Taking this assumption into account, we figured that the new
entrant would need about $2.5 billion in its first year of operation. Using this revenue, we then
calculated the first year expenses the new entrant would incur. • Expenses based upon 3 months
(3/12): #61607; Total Expenses (90% of Revenue): $562.5 million • Beginning Assets (based off

Pansette As An Accomplice In The Case Of Martin Guerre
In Natalie Z. Davis reconstruction of Martin Guerre s famous case of identity theft, Guerre s eight year
absence allowed for Pansette to authentically impersonate him for three years. . However, following
his dispute with his uncle, Pierre Guerre, over the family inheritance, Pansette was accused of being
an impostor, ultimately leading to his execution. Concluding the case, the court declared Bertrande
and the Guerre family victims in the trial. Unlike the participants of the case, Davis does not conform
to the idea of Bertrande as a mere victim, but rather, an accomplice motivated by socioeconomic
status. Critics often question whether Davis interpretations trespass the boundaries of a historian. Yet,
in order to evaluate Davis as a historian, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The key passage for critics explicitly states Davis beliefs of Bertrande as an accomplice, But the
obstinate and honorable Bertrande does not seem a woman so easily fooled, not even by a charmer
like Pansette. By the time she had received him in her bed, she must have realized the difference; as
any wife of Artigat would have agreed, there is no mistaking the touch of the man on the woman.
Either by explicit or tacit agreement, she helped him become her husband (Davis, 44). The main
argument is that Davis assumptions fail to take into account the ages of Bertrande and Martin during
their marriage, as well as Bertrande s long abstinence as a possible reason for her memory failure. Yet,
Davis arguments are far from imaginative, in fact, they are derived from the the thoughts of the French
peasantry, including those of Judge Coras himself, She had shared her bed with the prisoner for more
than three years, during which long interval it is not likely that the said de Rols would not have
recognized him for a stranger... (Davis, 79). Contrary to the arguments of critics, Davis does not fail to
demonstrate historical proof for her assumptions, as it is important for history to take into account the
psychology of the

Comparison Of Erikson And Kohlberg s Theory
Erik Erikson and Lawrence Kohlberg are famous theorist who have contributed a lot to the nursing
profession. Erikson s theory is about psychosocial development whereas Kohlberg s theory is about
moral development. Erikson has eight stages, that he believed were accomplished at different periods
of life, in his theory of psychosocial development starting with; trust versus mistrust during infancy;
autonomy versus shame or doubt experienced at a toddler age; initiative versus inferiority during
preschool and school aged period; identity versus identity confusion during adolescence; intimacy
versus isolation experienced as a young adult; generativity versus stagnation experienced as a middle
aged adult; and lastly integrity versus despair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another stage of Erikson s theory that is similar to stages of Kohlberg s theory is identity versus
identity confusion where the adolescent learns the essence of what makes them who they are from
bringing together everything they have learnt and what kind of person they will be. Kohlberg s stages
that are similar is the conventional stage of good boy/ nice girl morality where the school aged child
follows rules to be accepted by those around them, and the postconventional stage of social contract
orientation where the adolescent will follow society customs for the benefit of others. These three
stages are closely associated as someone s identity is usually shaped by the customs of society. People
will do what is expected of them to be accepted which in turn contributes to their identity. The last
similarity between the two theories is Erikson s stage of generativity versus stagnation where the
middle aged adult broadens their concern from themselves to the community and world, and Kohlberg
s postconventional stage of universal ethical principles where the adult s actions are determined by
their own ethical principles and standards of behaviour. These two stages complement each other as a
person cannot have concerns for the community and world if they do not have a sense of their own
beliefs and values as a foundation. A person needs to know what they value to then go on and have
concerns that

Hereditary Angioedema: Current and New Treatments to Relieve Sudden Attacks.
Hereditary Angioedema is an inherited disease caused by the disfunction of the protein C1 inhibitor
which is mechanically responsible for inhibiting the activation of the complement system, a humoral
aspect of the innate immune system. Intravenous treatment has been used for many years to prevent
and relieve the effects of sudden edema attacks caused by spontaneous activation of the complement
system within the victim s cardiovascular system. However apart from being highly invasive, current
intravenous treatment is not convenient in cases of sudden, spontaneous edema attacks.

Triggering mechanisms include: physical trauma, surgery, dental procedures, and emotional stress. It
has been noted that almost any level of trauma can trigger an edema attack, from typing on a keyboard
to mowing the lawn. Emotional stress is another often encountered cause of edema attacks. The
buildup of stress has been well documented in it s effects on the immune system, often in a negative
capacity. This appears to be enough to trigger attacks spontaneously in those with a copy of the
mutated C1 inhibitor gene. Trigger of an edema attack by surgery or dental procedures are also usually
the result of trauma and can heavily affect the methods and outcome of any such procedures

Because Hereditary angioedema attacks can be triggered by common occurrences throughout any
given day in the average person s life, those affected by hereditary angioedema must take special care
with their actions and more closely monitor their environment as well as their stress levels. Though

Flimsy clippers break too easily. As for the muzzle, your dog may mouth you the first few times
before he gets used to the process.
It s best to have started clipping your dog s nails when he was a pup. But if it s too late, start playing
with your dog s feet gently so that he s not terrified when you try to use the clippers.
For the first few times you clip his nails, only trim a tiny bit of nail off so he gets used to the process.
Try to trim his nails every six to ten weeks. If your dog goes outside a lot, the pavement actually keeps
the nails at a decent length. But if your dog stays indoors, you ll have to clip them every 4 to six
weeks.
DO NOT cut into the live part of the nail. Your dog will be in agony! The live part is wear you see the
nail starting to turn pink. Also you can tell the live part by the differing texture and color of his nails.
Don t forget to trim the pointed end of the declaw (that s the dog s thumb).
When in doubt, you can always ask your vet or groomer to show you how to trim your dog s nails.

Employee Motivation And Motivation Theory
Employees are valuable resources for companies and them could be competitive advantages for
modern companies. It is important for modern companies to improve employee satisfaction and
performance so that they can improve their organisational performance and competitiveness
(Armstrong, 2006). As a result, Employee s motivation management is significantly for companies.
Motivation is a cognitive process to guide, initiate, direct and maintain goal oriented activities. It can
also be defined as the driving forces directing people s actions (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2013).
Employees making contribution for firms because they are motivated by something, such as
successful companies can always identify the factors motivating their employees and conduct
responsive practices to motivate employees to improve performance (Podmoroff, 2005).
Diversity motivation theories explained what motivate people at work, such as extrinsic and intrinsic
motivation theory, Maslow s need hierarchy theory, Herzberg s two factor theory, equity theory,
expectancy theory, goal setting theory, and inner work life theory, etc (Huczynski and Buchanan,
2013). People try to explain the motivation concept from the different point of views. These
perspectives can be divided into two types. One is content theories, which focus on goals and needs of
human beings, and the other is process theories which focus on the cognitive and decision making
process in the mind of people. Every theory has made some contribution

Celebrates Ovid In The Legend Of Philomela

How Geoffrey Chaucer Translates Ovid in The Legend of Philomela There have been many different
translations of Ovid s Metamorphoses over the years such as Ted Hughes Creation: Four Ages; Flood;
Lyacon, A.D. Melville s Tereus, Procne, Philomela, and Geoffrey Chaucer s The Legend of Philomela,
each being more different than the last. Geoffrey Chaucer s The Legend of Philomela translates Ovid
by shifting the perspective of the story from Tereus to Philomela while making her the protagonist.

In Kline s version, there are many allusions to Greek gods and mythology such as Titan, the

gods and mythological creatures because the audience he was writing to may have believed in Greek
mythology and its teachings when he wrote The Metamorphoses in 8 AD. However, in Chaucer s
work, a Christian God is mentioned several times as well as Greek gods and mythology, such as Juno
and Bacchus temple. Chaucer mentions God in his translation to appeal to the audience he was writing
to in the 14th century which was most likely a predominately Christian population but keeps some of
the original Greek mythological ties so the myth of Philomela still parallels Ovid s original

Marijuana Should Be Banned Marijuana
Cannabis, otherwise known as marijuana, is a way of preparing the marijuana plant so that it can be
used as medicine or a psychoactive drug. It is the most extensively banned drug in Britain. However,
many local societies and organizations advocate a reform of its validity. These include NORML UK,
UKCSC Drug Equality Alliance, as well as Cannabis Law Reform. Other societies such as the Centre
for Social Justice and Skunk Sense argue in favour of cannabis remaining illegal (UK Government,
2014).
There is a widespread belief that Queen Victoria used cannabis to help relieve menstrual pain. It was
also used for other purposes: for instance, as food additives, or as clothing material. Cannabis and its
products have historically been so popular in Britain that its use remains a problem among the country
s citizens.
Nevertheless, the United Kingdom shows that a liberal approach to policy helps to reduce cannabis
use in the country. In mid 2003, Britain efficiently changed its rules about cannabis, giving police
officers the opportunity, do not use police alarms for criminals who have been caught for the first time
of possession of cannabis (for personal use). Earlier, the accused judged in court. But now, police have
warned the culprits directly on the street. All the warnings are recorded in the private affair, but it is
not for the trial in court (Turnbull, 2009; Warburton, May and Hough, 2005).

herself only as a wife/mother, and remains conventional in her actions, conscious of the standards for
women. Woolf indicates that women writers are guided by this Angel unless they liberate themselves.
Society s ideals ( the Angel in the House ) have influenced Margery Kempe s autobiography as
revealed by her content, form, and identity.
Kempe chronicles her struggle to obey God while attending to her marital duties: she says to her
husband, I may not deny you my body, but the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kempe writes her autobiography in the third person perspective, which is indicative of society s
influence on her writing. Referring to herself as this creature, Kempe puts the reader in a situation
where she/he more likely associates with the creature as a character than a real person. Also, the focus
chapters 3, 4, and 11 is primarily on Kempe s spirituality, illustrated best by her diction: God, Heaven,
sin, temptation, and an array of other religious jargon characterize her speech, as opposed to sexual or
spiritual liberation or subjective truth. Because of the time in which she wrote this, Kempe s work
must have been of religious significance, not an example of feminist or existentialist theory.
Furthermore, Kempe seems to have internalized the condemning voice of the church, as she chastises
and demonizes herself. For example, She thought she was worthy of no mercy, for her consent was so
willfully done, nor ever worthy to do Him service, because she was so false to Him (22). Even if she
really felt this way about herself, Kempe seems to be stating readers reactions, especially when she
quotes her husband, who told her, Ye are no good wife (23).
Coventry Patmore s nineteenth century Angel in the House post dates Margery Kempe by about four
hundred years. Thus Kempe does not

Analysis Of Fast Car By Tracy Chapman
Music is often just a medium, utilized by artists, to paint a vivid picture in the minds of the listener. As
a listener, often you can be caught off guard by the artists ability to do so. In the song fast car by Tracy
Chapman, the incredible singer/songwriter will do just that. She will render an image so graphic, and
so dramatic, that you will swear that you were walking in the shoes of the woman she sings about in
her song. The gracefully flowing melody and emotionally evolving lyrics transport you through an
undeniably extraordinary journey of joy and sorrow, all within the confines of a four minute and fifty
nine second song.
Fast Car by Tracy Chapman is a powerful song about a young woman who is endeavoring to make it
by in life. She is living a very poor, and underprivileged lifestyle, her father is an alcoholic, and her
mother withdrew from her life to make a better life for herself. Unfortunately, that is the only thing
that this young woman wants to do, make a better life for herself. With her father being sick and stuck
to the bottle, she is forced to drop out of school and take care of him. Dreaming of running away and
starting a new life was the only thing that was keeping her going.
Within the first two verses of the song, this young woman presents an issue that is all too common for
many people. She has big dreams and wants to make a name for herself, but to succumb to making
that dream a reality, she would have to desert the loved ones that have made

How Water Is An Important For Our Lives
Thousands have lived without love, not one without water, W.H. Auden says. It is true that water plays
an important in our lives; nobody can survive without water. Importantly, water is a scarce resource
which means that society has insufficient productive resources to meet all citizens needs. Once the
scarce resource becomes more and more terrified, people will turn to limit the usage. Since California
has been dried for four years continuously and reached near crisis proportion, on April 1, 2015,
Governor Jerry Brown signed an executive order that will restrict urban water usage by 25 percent to
deal with the drought (Nagourney). The bill seems to make sense by limiting the water when it
becomes scarce. This order will affect some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
in Johnson). Technically, farmers use 80 percent of water while cities use 20 percent (Johnson).
However, as Governor Jerry Brown claimed California to reduce water using by 25 percent, he did not
indicate agriculture (Johnson). Yet, Robert Glennon stated that For California to solve its water crisis
must also come from farmers. Definitely, with a huge water consuming, restricting agriculture will
conserve water more significant water than households water saving. Glennon points out that By my
calculations, even a four percent reduction in water consumption could increase by 50 percent the
water available for municipal and industrial uses. Thus, to solve drought, California should not restrict
personal water use, but regulate agriculture instead.
Secondly, wisely using appropriate management, water in agriculture is one of the best ways to control
water instead of restricting personal water use. Agriculture consumes about 80 percent of all water
usages in California, and the primary water consuming in agriculture is irrigation. This irrigation
system helps lands that don t annually receive enough rainfall to be utilized for growing plants.

My Great Sacrifice When My Husband was Deployed Essay
Until I felt the effects of sacrifice last year, I never knew what strength truly meant. At the time
strength did not seem possible during my husband s year long deployment. A favorite quote of mine
by an unknown author matched my situation. You never know how strong you are until being strong is
the only choice you have. During this year long sacrifice, I found strength not only in myself but also
from the love between me and my husband.
Deployment is a word that all military spouses and military families dread to hear. When my husband
came home to our barely moved in house with news of his deployment to Afghanistan, I was
devastated. Though we received terrible news, we also felt incredible joy that same week. I was
pregnant with our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My heart ached like I was hit with a ton of bricks. The white busses were lined up and it was time to
say goodbye. I did not want to take the time we had left for granted. Our hug seemed like it lasted for
an eternity; each time we would let go we would grab each other once more for another strong
embrace. Wiping away my tears, my husband made a promise to me and our unborn son that he would
stay safe and would come home soon. He told me this was not a goodbye but only an I will see you
soon. His ever so caring smile calmed me and I was able to let him go.
On December 5th 2012 our son was born. We were so grateful for the time my husband was able to
come home for our son s birth. Not many other soldiers have that opportunity. We were able to spend
ten days as a family, but it just meant we had to say goodbye again. For some reason, our second
goodbye was not as difficult as our first. I knew I had to be strong for my husband and our son.
Every day we looked forward to my husband s homecoming. I kept a countdown on the white board
hanging on the fridge. It was another day down and another day being reunited again. As that written
number lessened, I became more anxious for his homecoming. Three hundred sixty five days later, my
husband arrived safely on US ground. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I felt both nervous and
excited at the same time. My family was finally reunited. Our missing puzzle piece was finally home.

Biological Oxygen Demand ( Bod )
Other Parameters Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) is also monitored to quantify the amount of
oxygen needed to break down organic material in a water sample. BOD was generally higher and
more variable at different locations around Abu Dhabi City and in Confined Areas, although mean
BOD at all locations was generally lower from 2013 2015 than in previous years for which data are
available. Total Suspended Solids (TSS) are solids in water that can be trapped by a filter and may
include a wide variety of material, such as silt, decaying plant matter, industrial wastes, and sewage.
In general, TSS has been higher in the past 5 years in Confined Areas than at the other stations. TSS
has declined since 2011 at all locations except in MPAs, where the annual mean TSS was highest in
2013. Mean TSS in 2015 was highest in May in Confined Areas. Organic pollutants are chemical
compounds that contain carbon and have a negative effect on one or more components of the
environment. From 2011 2015, EAD monitored marine waters for two organic pollutants: total
petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). TPHs is a term used to
describe a mixture of several hundreds of chemical compounds that are derived from crude oil.
Measurable background concentrations of TPH can be a result of excess oil contamination or in some
cases the result of a natural petroleum seep. High levels of some petroleum hydrocarbons can cause

Essay on History of Rumba, Merengue and Salsa
According to Holger Henke in his The West Indian Americans, Jamaican Rex Nettleford was correct
when he said, dance was a primary instrument of survival . As such a vital part of cultural traditions,
dance plays and integral role in the history culture. Three of the most influential styles of dance in the
Caribbean are the Rumba, The Merengue, and the Salsa. The word Rumba is defined by the Merriam
Webster Dictionary as a ballroom dance of Haitian and Dominican origin in 2/4 time in which one
foot is dragged on every step. Here, however, Rumba is a collection of percussive rhythms, song and
dance that originated in Cuba as a combination of the musical traditions of Africans brought to Cuba

What we know today as Ballroom Rumba is basically son and not based on the authentic folk rumba.
The first serious attempt to introduce the rumba to the United States was in 1913 but real interest in
Latin music began about 1929. In the late 1920 s, Xavier Cugat formed an orchestra that specialized in
Latin American music and opened at the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles and later played at the
Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. By the end of the decade he was recognized as having the
outstanding Latin orchestra of the day. Monsieur Pierre was London s leading teacher of the Rumba
and in 1955 he and his partner, Doris Lavelle, introduced the true Cuban Rumba which was finally
established after much argument, as the official recognized version in 1955.
During this time, the intellectual movement known as Afrocubanismo, a sort of mass relization of the
value of African culture (especially in the Caribbean), gave roots to traditional rumba. When this
afrocubanismo movement came along, it helped open the doors to African rooted dancing and ways of
expression. Rumba became more accepted among Cubans and was a recognized cultural expression
that identified as a part of the Cuban people. It also provided the means at that point of public
expression for those without representation in the media, the Afro Cubans.
Today, Rumba is most commonly performed informally and can be broken down into three types:

The hydrophobic anchor which holds the Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of gram negative bacteria in the

cytoplasm through the Lpx biosynthetic pathway (reference). Lipid A is then transported to the outer

for virulence and bacterial viability. These qualities make it an attractive drug target which could aid

Antibiotics are developed for the treatment of bacterial infections due to their effective clinical
properties (Appendix Fig. 2). They are extensively utilized for the inhibition of bacterial; DNA, RNA,
proteins and cell wall synthesis (reference). However, the efficiency of treating bacterial infections has
vastly deteriorated because of the ongoing emergence of multi drug resistant pathogens (Appendix
Fig. 3 Table 1 8) (reference). The prolonged use and misuse of antibiotics have resulted in the
evolution of bacteria attaining mechanisms which, prevent antibiotics from binding to their molecular
targets (Appendix Fig. 4) (reference). Additionally, antibiotic resistance occurs in both gram negative
and gram positive bacteria. An important aspect of antimicrobial resistance has been shown to be the
presence of LPS in most gram negative bacteria (reference). The negatively charged highly polar LPS
symbolises a tenacious barrier which reduces permeability. This barrier protects the bacterial outer
membrane bilayer against hydrophobic compounds including, the entry of antibiotics into bacterial
cells (reference). There are very few drugs which target LPS pathways. LPS signifies one of the major
paramount obstacles to the innovation of gram negative

Honesty Services Fraud Case Study
The case of former Virginia Governor Robert McDonnell and his wife, Maureen McDonnell was an
important game changer in politics. They were indicted by the Federal Government on bribery
charges. These charges were due to the acceptance of more than $170,000 in loans, gifts, and other
benefits by a Virginia businessman, Jonnie Williams, while the Governor was in office. Jonnie
Williams was the chief executive officer of Star Scientific, which is a Virginia based company that
developed a nutritional supplement made from anatabine, a compound found in tobacco. This
nutritional supplement called Anatabloc. William claimed that Anatabloc had healing powers and
wanted to continue the research on anatabine. Therefore, William wanted the Governor s ... Show

The charges against the Governor were conspiracy to commit honest services fraud (18 U. S.
C.§1343) and conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act extortion (§1951(a)). As to Governor spouse, Maureen
McDonnell, she was indicted on obstructing official proceedings (§1512(c)(2)) and similar charges as
the Governor. The bribery statute states that a crime is committed when a public official or person
selected to be a public official, directly or indirectly, or corruptly demand, receive, accept to receive or
accept anything of value in return for being influenced in the performance of any official act. §201(b)
(2). Therefore, the Government was required to prove that Governor McDonnell agreed to commit an
official act in exchange for the gifts and loans from Williams. The Government alleged that the
Governor had committed more than five official acts by arranging meetings, hosting events,
promoting Star Scientific s products and contacting other government officials to encourage the
research of anatabine in state universities. The Governor claimed that doing this kind of meetings or
introductions was common and that he did it literally thousands of times as Governor. The District
Court told the jury that in order to convict Governor McDonnell, it must find that he agreed to accept
a thing of value in exchange for official action . The Governor requested the court to instruct the jury
to further explain the meaning of official act but the District Court declined the proposed instruction to
the jury. The jury convicted the Governor on the honest services fraud and Hobbs Act extortion
charges but cleared him on the false statement charges. After the verdict, the Governor filed a motion
to vacate the convictions claiming the jury instructions were legally erroneous, but the District Court

Value And Its Influence On People s Living
1. Introduction
Money is very important to daily life. It is money that enable people to live a life they want to live and
fulfill the value of life, such as happiness, health , love, and making difference. On the other hand,
values determine every life decision that people makes (Determine the true purpose of money in your
life, 2016).
Value is the monetary worth of something, which has great influence on indivudual s behavior and
attitude. When a purchase decision is made, it involves a value calculation. In general, value is
measured by price. But the price does not really reflect the true value. The most common value is
economic value. Beside economic value, there are cultural value and social value. Value is important
to both individual and business. This essay mainly explores the concept of value and its influence on
people s living.
2. The concepts of value
2.1 Definition of Value
Value is defined as the desirability of something, such as usefulness and exchangeability, also is
defined as the amount of money for a fair exchange for something (paperchain , nd). According to
Adam Smith, the word value , had two different meanings: value in use and value in exchange.George
[1908] mentioned that value of a thing was the largest amount of wealth that anyone was willing to
exchange for. Mises [1934] added that value is always the result of subjective judgments, and
intrinsically related to the worth that the consumer wanted to exchange for. Dewey( 1939) considered

My Friends And I Speak Nonstandard English
My friends and I speak Nonstandard English because that is what we hear the most because that is
what most of our family speak. We insult each other and sometime we cuss at wach other. For
example when we insult each other we often call one another fat, ugly, and dumb. When we insult
each other it is not meant to hurt one another feelings. Some time our insult can be harsh but that is
how we relieve some stress. Our life is hard when we are at home because we struggle day to day. So
when we get the chance to hang out with each we try to make each other laugh. Also when my friend
and I decided to do something like skip class or go to a party and someone back out we make fun of
them. For example, we will call them scary, wack, or a weenie. We do this for they can feel embarrass
and so they can change their mind about backing out. I make fun of them because when I was little my
sister and brother always made fun of me because I was the youngest so as I got older I wanted to do it
back to other for I can feel like I have the power to change someone s mind.
With my siblings, we tend to use body language when we are out in public. We do this when we want
to talk about someone we don t like and we do not want to say it out loud. For instance, if we see
someone that we do not like we look at each and laugh and look at that person we do not like. Another
example is when we see someone who is wearing something ugly on and they think they are cute, we

The Leadership Position Of Youth Pastor
There has been a considerable growth in what I now know about what it takes to be in the leadership
position of Youth Pastor. There are several learnings I had from this book: one of them was the
reminder of the insightfulness of youth. As Dean states, Youth have an acute ability to sniff out
hypocrisy and to name injustice. Through her words on this and through discussion in class I have
realized why it is so important to be genuine through everything you do. Youth tend to not only see but
also imitate behavior they witness. This is the critical time for youth in identifying who they are and
therefore what they witness can be a big part of who they become. Dean address this in the first
chapter: James W. Fowler has described the adolescent thought process in terms of the couplet, I see
you seeing me, I construct the me I think you see. It is important to not only provide an example of
who Christ calls us to be, but to allow them to see the example that they may never see at home.
I really liked how she identified the three major barriers to god bearing youth ministry. I found it
beneficial that she signaled these out so that a person can be aware and ready if they start to fall into
one of these categories. I can already notice how I might fit into these three categories of being a fixer,
controller, or of having the need to be liked. Knowing these before I actually start in ministry is
already helping me in addressing the issue. I can already see how I would be a

Why Do Motorcycle Saddlebags
There are few motorcycle accessories that are more important than your motorcycle saddlebags, and it
s important that you give them proper care to make them last. Remember, your saddlebags will be
holding some of your most important stuff, and since they are usually out of sight, out of mind, it is
easy to forget about them when it comes time to care for your bike.
Remember the days before you had motorcycle saddlebags? I sure do. I used to wear a backpack
which, when loaded, would offset the balance and sometimes make for a scary ride. If I ever rode
through wet weather, my gear in the backpack would almost always get soaked. Trust me when I tell
you that it s almost impossible to dry out a down sleeping bag by campfire on a cool spring evening!

Any more often than this and you are wasting your time, and the cleaning product. If you ride in the
sun, or your bike spends time parked out in the sun, a cleaner/conditioner with UV (ultraviolet)
protection is a must. The sun will wreak havoc on your leather saddlebags, drying them out and will
turn them into brittle and useless scraps of leather.
When using the cleaning/conditioning product for the first time, wipe it on a small area on the
underside, and look for any staining or discoloration before cleaning the whole bag. Some leather
experts say to stay away from products containing petroleum products. My rule of thumb is to use
something that others have had great success with regardless of the ingredients.
I try to look for leather products that penetrate deeply and offer good moisture protection. One great
old standby is saddle soap. Saddle soap is as old as leather (it seems), is cheap and is very gentle on
the leather. Some say it s old fashioned, and compared to modern conditioning products, doesn t offer
enough protection from the elements.
Sometimes these cleaning/conditioning products will have strong chemicals that will give off nasty
fumes.Try to use them outdoors so you don t inhale these

The Origins Of The Origin Of Philosophy
The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual
reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come
with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in
the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three
philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all
came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first
school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any
pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is
fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek
mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to
find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales,
water is the one and only Arche.
Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off
of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being
broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements,
earth, wind, fire, and water being the Arche. He believed the elements could not be the Arche,

DURYODHANA S ENVY
What man of mettle will stand to see his rivals prosper and himself decline
If envy were a fever the whole world would be ill.
Envy is an emotion basic to all human beings. Arising from need for self esteem (Maslow s Need
Hierarchy), envy finds its roots in the distress the envier feels when he sees the good fortune of others.
Envy is a strong emotion with high negative effect that overwhelms the envier with mental stress,
tension and depression, making him mentally ill.
Duryodhana is a classic example of how envy in its extreme has the potential to consume a lead to a
calamity like the Mahabharata. His envy arises when he goes low on self esteem (Maslow s Need
Hierarchy) but has a high need for power and achievement (McClelland s theory). Unable to bear the
prosperity and fortune of his Pandavas cousins he indulges in surface acting and invites Duryodhana
for a friendly game of dice and cheats him under the conspiracy. Also, the perception (cognitive
component) that the Pandavas are more accomplished than him leads to the feeling (affective
component) of envy and combined with his Machiavellianism results in his multiple plots to kill the
Pandavas (behavioural component).Duryodhan also suffers

The Future of the Arctic Is in Our Hands
Preface
The arctic is facing today drastic climate changes that, together with technological development will
in the near future disclose the Arctic s economic potential.
We, the people of Greenland, believe that the inhabitants of the Arctic should be the first to benefit
from the economic opportunities the Arctic will bring.
As historical inhabitants of the Arctic it is our responsibility to make it a peaceful and rich region
ensuring at the same time the safeguard of its environment. The future of the Arctic is in our hands.
Kridneh Gnireeh, prime minister of Greenland.
Introduction
The Arctic has been warming faster than any other region on the planet: Greenland s ice sheet has
experienced a steady melting and will along with the Arctic s ice caps contribute to the rise of the
global sea levels.
Climate change will affect the natural environment enabling the exploitation of oil, gas and minerals,
the melting of the Arctic ice caps will open new and more cost efficient trading routes namely the
Northern Sea route and the Northwest Passage, in which Greenland will play a strategic role due to its
geographical location. The warming of the seas will permit Greenlandic fisheries to expand their
activities by locating new fishing grounds further north.
In 2009 Greenlanders voted in favor of the Self Goverment Act which transferred more powers from
the Government of Denmark to the local Greenlandic government, among these the right to
administrate mineral resource

Slip And Fall Lawyer Essay
When a person is injured in an accident that involves a slip and fall, they need legal representation.
Many don t know how to find a slip and fall attorney, however, or what to look for when doing so.
Following are some tips to help in this process and things to keep in mind when the time comes to
make a selection. Why An Attorney Is Essential Proving fault in a slip and fall case can be difficult.
Often, it isn t obvious who is to blame, and multiple parties may ultimately be held accountable. An
attorney understands how to establish liability and prove damages and can also easily identify who
may be responsible in a case of this type. The average person lacks these skills, thus legal help is
needed. Proving Liability The first step is the process is to show that the defendant or defendants were
negligent and this led to the injuries. Falls tend to happen quickly, leaving the injured party unaware of
exactly what happened. The lawyer works to determine this, using information from witnesses, any
evidence collected on the injured party s clothing or other items in the area and more. He or she also
determines what led to the accident, such as defective equipment, poor building construction and other
factors. Once the accident scene has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why I Am Against Human Experimentation I am the opposition and I am against human experimentation.I am against human experimentation because it harms people.I say this because multiple people have been murdered by these experiments for over the past 100 years. In the experimentation people have been saved, but the experiment could have had a sin affect that affected the person. The sin affect could then go extremely wrong, and could lead that person to death. The other reason I am against the resolution is that some people do experiments without the person s authorization. The reason I m saying this is because if you have a family member or a loved one and they are very sick ,and they have no one with them and they decided to call a doctor for help the doctor might not answer. • 7. The Problem of Acid Rain Acid rain is a widespread problem, one that plagues the environment the world over. Acid Rain is the resultant by product of burning fossil fuel which in turn mixes with moisture in the atmosphere and falls to the ground as rain, snow, sleet, etc. Acid deposition is a more precise name than acid rain because acid can precipitate in several forms, as stated previously. It can also combine with dry particles and fall to the ground; therefore it is called dry deposition whereas acid coming down in rain is called wet deposition. Generally, the public has known about air pollution since the Roman philosopher, Seneca, remarked on his hometown s polluted skies in AD 61. Even though people were aware of the problem, they chose to remain ignorant to its effects and repercussions. Up until the last century people have ignored the problem of air pollution including air pollution s most dangerous problem, acid rain. Acid rain is devastating to the ecosystem and is one of the most pressing environmental issues today. Acid rain forms in the atmosphere from chemicals created by the burning of fossil fuels. When coal and oil are burned they release sulfur dioxide (SO2) and two nitric oxides, nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) designated by the symbol NOX. To become vertically integrated, a company trying to enter the strategic group would need to acquire several companies in different areas of the entertainment industry. These acquisitions would be highly capital intensive and very risky for a new entrant. Another barrier to entry is the product differentiation in the strategic group. Each company in the strategic group has certain channels that are considered premium channels. Cable providers are willing to pay more for these channels, which they end up having to charge the end consumer more for. These premium channels differentiate content providers from one another. The content providing business is a highly capital intensive business. Therefore, the capital required to enter the strategic group and compete is extremely high. To calculate the capital required for a new entrant, we first found the average revenue of the strategic group (~$7.5 billion). We then assumed that a new entrant would have to capture about a third of this average to even make an impact in the industry. Taking this assumption into account, we figured that the new entrant would need about $2.5 billion in its first year of operation. Using this revenue, we then calculated the first year expenses the new entrant would incur. • Expenses based upon 3 months (3/12): #61607; Total Expenses (90% of Revenue): $562.5 million • Beginning Assets (based off Viacom/3): #61607; Movie and TV inventory: $329 million #61607; ... Davis reconstruction of Martin Guerre s famous case of identity theft, Guerre s eight year absence allowed for Pansette to authentically impersonate him for three years. . However, following his dispute with his uncle, Pierre Guerre, over the family inheritance, Pansette was accused of being an impostor, ultimately leading to his execution. Concluding the case, the court declared Bertrande and the Guerre family victims in the trial. Unlike the participants of the case, Davis does not conform to the idea of Bertrande as a mere victim, but rather, an accomplice motivated by socioeconomic status. The key passage for critics explicitly states Davis beliefs of Bertrande as an accomplice, But the obstinate and honorable Bertrande does not seem a woman so easily fooled, not even by a charmer like Pansette. By the time she had received him in her bed, she must have realized the difference; as any wife of Artigat would have agreed, there is no mistaking the touch of the man on the woman. Either by explicit or tacit agreement, she helped him become her husband (Davis, 44). The main argument is that Davis assumptions fail to take into account the ages of Bertrande and Martin during their marriage, as well as Bertrande s long abstinence as a possible reason for her memory failure. Yet, Davis arguments are far from imaginative, in fact, they are derived from the the thoughts of the French peasantry, including those of Judge Coras himself, She had shared her bed with the prisoner for more than three years, during which long interval it is not likely that the said de Rols would not have recognized him for a stranger... These three stages are closely associated as someone s identity is usually shaped by the customs of society. People will do what is expected of them to be accepted which in turn contributes to their identity. The last similarity between the two theories is Erikson s stage of generativity versus stagnation where the middle aged adult broadens their concern from themselves to the community and world, and Kohlberg s postconventional stage of universal ethical principles where the adult s actions are determined by their own ethical principles and standards of behaviour. These two stages complement each other as a person cannot have concerns for the community and world if they do not have a sense of their own beliefs and values as a foundation. A person needs to know what they value to then go on and have concerns that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hereditary Angioedema is an inherited disease caused by the disfunction of the protein C1 inhibitor which is mechanically responsible for inhibiting the activation of the complement system, a humoral aspect of the innate immune system. Intravenous treatment has been used for many years to prevent and relieve the effects of sudden edema attacks caused by spontaneous activation of the complement system within the victim s cardiovascular system. It is the most extensively banned drug in Britain. However, many local societies and organizations advocate a reform of its validity. These include NORML UK, UKCSC Drug Equality Alliance, as well as Cannabis Law Reform. Other societies such as the Centre for Social Justice and Skunk Sense argue in favour of cannabis remaining illegal (UK Government, 2014). Cannabis and its products have historically been so popular in Britain that its use remains a problem among the country s citizens. Also, the focus chapters 3, 4, and 11 is primarily on Kempe s spirituality, illustrated best by her diction: God, Heaven, sin, temptation, and an array of other religious jargon characterize her speech, as opposed to sexual or spiritual liberation or subjective truth. Because of the time in which she wrote this, Kempe s work must have been of religious significance, not an example of feminist or existentialist theory. In the late 1920 s, Xavier Cugat formed an orchestra that specialized in Latin American music and opened at the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles and later played at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. Another example is when we see someone who is wearing something ugly on and they think they are cute, we signal each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Leadership Position Of Youth Pastor There has been a considerable growth in what I now know about what it takes to be in the leadership position of Youth Pastor. There are several learnings I had from this book: one of them was the reminder of the insightfulness of youth. As Dean states, Youth have an acute ability to sniff out hypocrisy and to name injustice. Through her words on this and through discussion in class I have realized why it is so important to be genuine through everything you do. Youth tend to not only see but also imitate behavior they witness. This is the critical time for youth in identifying who they are and therefore what they witness can be a big part of who they become. Dean address this in the first chapter: James W. Fowler has described the adolescent thought process in terms of the couplet, I see you seeing me, I construct the me I think you see. It is important to not only provide an example of who Christ calls us to be, but to allow them to see the example that they may never see at home. I really liked how she identified the three major barriers to god bearing youth ministry. I found it beneficial that she signaled these out so that a person can be aware and ready if they start to fall into one of these categories. I can already notice how I might fit into these three categories of being a fixer, controller, or of having the need to be liked. Knowing these before I actually start in ministry is already helping me in addressing the issue. I can already see how I would be a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Why Do Motorcycle Saddlebags There are few motorcycle accessories that are more important than your motorcycle saddlebags, and it s important that you give them proper care to make them last. Remember, your saddlebags will be holding some of your most important stuff, and since they are usually out of sight, out of mind, it is easy to forget about them when it comes time to care for your bike. Remember the days before you had motorcycle saddlebags? I sure do. I used to wear a backpack which, when loaded, would offset the balance and sometimes make for a scary ride. If I ever rode through wet weather, my gear in the backpack would almost always get soaked. Trust me when I tell you that it s almost impossible to dry out a down sleeping bag by campfire on a cool spring evening! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any more often than this and you are wasting your time, and the cleaning product. If you ride in the sun, or your bike spends time parked out in the sun, a cleaner/conditioner with UV (ultraviolet) protection is a must. The sun will wreak havoc on your leather saddlebags, drying them out and will turn them into brittle and useless scraps of leather. When using the cleaning/conditioning product for the first time, wipe it on a small area on the underside, and look for any staining or discoloration before cleaning the whole bag. Some leather experts say to stay away from products containing petroleum products. My rule of thumb is to use something that others have had great success with regardless of the ingredients. I try to look for leather products that penetrate deeply and offer good moisture protection. One great old standby is saddle soap. Saddle soap is as old as leather (it seems), is cheap and is very gentle on the leather. Some say it s old fashioned, and compared to modern conditioning products, doesn t offer enough protection from the elements. Sometimes these cleaning/conditioning products will have strong chemicals that will give off nasty fumes.Try to use them outdoors so you don t inhale these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Origins Of The Origin Of Philosophy The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales, water is the one and only Arche. Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements, earth, wind, fire, and water being the Arche. He believed the elements could not be the Arche, ... CRITICAL ANALYSIS AND THEORITICAL FRAMEWORKS DURYODHANA S ENVY What man of mettle will stand to see his rivals prosper and himself decline If envy were a fever the whole world would be ill. Envy is an emotion basic to all human beings. Arising from need for self esteem (Maslow s Need Hierarchy), envy finds its roots in the distress the envier feels when he sees the good fortune of others. Envy is a strong emotion with high negative effect that overwhelms the envier with mental stress, tension and depression, making him mentally ill. Duryodhana is a classic example of how envy in its extreme has the potential to consume a lead to a calamity like the Mahabharata. His envy arises when he goes low on self esteem (Maslow s Need

We, the people of Greenland, believe that the inhabitants of the Arctic should be the first to benefit from the economic opportunities the Arctic will bring. As historical inhabitants of the Arctic it is our responsibility to make it a peaceful and rich region ensuring at the same time the safeguard of its environment. The future of the Arctic is in our hands. Kridneh Gnireeh, prime minister of Greenland. Climate change will affect the natural environment enabling the exploitation of oil, gas and minerals, the melting of the Arctic ice caps will open new and more cost efficient trading routes namely the Northern Sea route and the Northwest Passage, in which Greenland will play a strategic role due to its geographical location. The warming of the seas will permit Greenlandic fisheries to expand their activities by locating new fishing grounds further north. In 2009 Greenlanders voted in favor of the Self Goverment Act which transferred more powers from the Government of Denmark to the local Greenlandic government, among these the right to administrate mineral resource ... Many don t know how to find a slip and fall attorney, however, or what to look for when doing so. Following are some tips to help in this process and things to keep in mind when the time comes to make a selection. Why An Attorney Is Essential Proving fault in a slip and fall case can be difficult. Often, it isn t obvious who is to blame, and multiple parties may ultimately be held accountable. An attorney understands how to establish liability and prove damages and can also easily identify who may be responsible in a case of this type. The average person lacks these skills, thus legal help is needed. Proving Liability The first step is the process is to show that the defendant or defendants were negligent and this led to the injuries. Falls tend to happen quickly, leaving the injured party unaware of exactly what happened. The lawyer works to determine this, using information from witnesses, any evidence collected on the injured party s clothing or other items in the area and more. He or she also determines what led to the accident, such as defective equipment, poor building construction and other factors. Once the accident scene has been ...
