Summary Judgment is appropriately awarded where the moving party shows that there is no genuine
issue as to any material fact and that the moving party is entitled to a judgment as a matter of law. (See
Fed. R. Civ. P. Rule56, web.1 Mar. 2012 http://www.uscourts.gov )
The Appellants in this case would have to show that there is No Dispute as to the material facts of the
case, meaning that because there client did not have actual knowledge that Mr. Hard was visibly
intoxicated at the time he received his last drink, as a Matter of Law , the Court would have to grant
their motion. The Appellee would have to show that there are, in fact, matters that should be heard by
a jury and therefore, the motion should be denied. Next, I looked at the definition of Proximate Cause.
According to the Free Dictionary by Farflex, a Proximate Cause is:
An act from which an injury results as a natural, direct, uninterrupted consequence and without which
the injury would not have occurred. Proximate cause would be the primary cause of an injury. It is not
necessarily the closest cause in time or space nor the first event that sets in motion a sequence of
events leading to an injury. Proximate cause produces particular, foreseeable consequences without the
intervention of any independent or unforeseeable cause. It is also known as legal cause. (web. 26 Feb.

Aristotle s Value Of Happiness
Human beings spend a lifetime finding the meaning of life and what makes us happy. In Aristotle s
Nicomachean s Ethics, Aristotle gives his own wisdom to his son, Nicomachean on how to achieve the
end goal of life which is happiness. He explores this virtue of happiness through many other
characteristics and virtues. One of the characteristics, Aristotle explores for one to be happy is
moderation. Overindulgence in food, sex, and drinks can lead to dangers in one s life. To obtain
happiness and live a complete life, one must be moderate.
Aristotle asserts that moderation is a mean with respect to pleasures (Aristotle 62). Aristotle takes into
account both the body and soul when discussing pleasures. What gives a person pleasures? In many
cases, food, drinks, sex, listening to one s favorite music, and even hanging out with friends can give
someone pleasure. Overindulgence of pleasures of the body (food, drink, and sex) is limited compared
to the soul (honor and learning) which is unlimited. Aristotle makes the argument that when a person
takes enjoyment in the smelling of apples, roses, or incense (Aristotle 64) they are not licentious since
that smell could remind that person of a past encounter that could signal desire (Aristotle 64).
Aristotle then compares human to animals with the direct reference to a lion; where a lion does not
receive desire because it smells the meat of a cow, but because the lion knows that it will take pleasure
in eating the cow s meat

The Use Of Slang And Its Significance On English Essay
Before getting into the abundance of slang and its significance on English, it is first best to cover the
four base words of the LGBTQ community and how they have transgressed over time. Queer, lesbian,
homosexual, and gay all share an importance to the beginnings of the more modern usages. The origin
of queer is unclear, but the Oxford English dictionary defines one of its earliest meanings around 1513
as strange, odd, peculiar, eccentric . It wasn t until the 1900s that it was used as an offensive term for
homosexual people, with its original meaning still in context. This changed in the 1990s when early
conversations about queer theory were had by social theorists Michel Foucault, Eve Kosofsky
Sedgwick, Judith Butler, and others. This brought the word into a new light. Of course it still holds
some of its derogatory meaning, but by using this word to define a theory that discussed the idea that
gender is major part of the necessary self and in gay/lesbian studies it closely examines the socially
constructed nature of identities and sexual acts. This reading connects directly with what is happening
at present, which is a reclaiming of queer by people in the LGBTQ community to stand for both
questioning and sexual and gender minorities. In her article on equality, Lisa Duggan states, Queer
people, particularly queer people of color, began to reclaim queer in response to a perceived shift in
the gay community toward liberal conservatism, catalyzed by Andrew Sullivan s

African History Chapter 1 Summary
The second chapter of Africans and their History starts off with discussing the very beginning of
African civilizations which includes talking about Charles Darwin s The Descent of Man and how the
first people originated from Africa instead of Asia like people once thought. The chapter also delves
into how the beings before homo sapiens began to evolve and slowly learn new skills. Some of these
skills include hunting, creating fire, learning to make clothes and many other useful strategies to for
the people living at the time. As time went on, Africans learned to make more useful agriculture tools
with the help of iron. Iron was a huge technological advancement around 2000 B.C. giving the people
of the time many new ways to grow and harvest plants more efficiently.

Axum symbolizes the wealth and importance of the civilization of the ancient kingdom that was there.
The kingdom was at the crossroads of the three continents: Africa, Arabia, and the Greco Roman
World, and was the most powerful state between the Eastern Roman Empire and Persia. They were in
command of the ivory trade with Sudan, its fleets controlled the Red Sea trade through the port of
Adulis and the inland routes of northeastern Africa which was a great feat at the time.
Cultural life enjoyed by the Carthaginians may have been below that of the larger cities of the
Classical world. Their interests were turned toward commerce rather than art, and Carthage controlled
much of the Western trade. In Roman times the Punic beds, cushions, and mattresses were regarded as
luxuries, and Punic joinery and furniture were copied. Much of the revenue of Carthage happened to
come from its exploitation of the silver mines of North Africa and southern Spain, begun as early as
800 BCE. Carthage changed slightly under roman ruling and stimulated growth in urban

Life of Pi by Yann Martel Essay
Life of Pi by Yann Martel, first published in 2002, is the story of Piscine Molitor Patel. Piscine, later
shortened by himself to Pi, is the main character, the protagonist, and throughout most of this novel
just a teenager. At the beginning of the story the reader is taken to the world of Pondicherry, India and
to the Pondicherry Zoo run by the Patel Family. The Patel family consists of Pi s mom, Gita, his dad
Santosh and his older brother Ravi. As Pi grows up he takes you through his good and bad times, he
takes you through the four religions. Yes, four! He submerges in the realm of Hinduism, Islam,
Christianity, and Atheism. He is a Christian, Hindu, and Islamic, all at once. He says on that, Atheists

They remain together throughout this 277 day voyage, coming across a huge ship, a man that gets
eaten by Richard, a flesh eating island, and finally Mexico. The third and final part of this book is
called Benito Juarez Infirmary, Tomatlan, Mexico. This part is a manuscript from two workers from
the Japanese Ministry of Transport, who found out that Pi finally landed. They came to find out
exactly why the ship sank. Pi doesn t know for sure why it sank, but he tells the his story. They don t
believe that he survived all that time with a Bengal tiger. So he tells them another version just as
graphic with replacing the hyena with a cook from the ship, his mom as the orangutan, and a sailor as
the hurt zebra. He of course replaced himself with the tiger. The workers weren t thrilled with this
story either but all Pi says is, In both stories the ship sinks, my entire family dies, and I suffers (317).
One replies yes, that s true. He then tells them that since they can t tell the truth to take the story that
they prefer, and go with God. This book was a gripping story that keeps you reading from beginning
to end. When I started reading this book I received different responses, from oh it was amazing to that
was pure crap. I took both opinions into count and picked it up to start reading. The beginning started

Pros And Cons Of The American Dream
Can young adults today still fulfill their American Dream? This is something that is being questioned
across the nation and everyone has a different opinion. In America Now edited by Robert Atwan,
Barack Obama and other journalists state their opinion on the American Dream explaining whether it
is still possible today. The American Dream defined as the ideal that every US citizen should have an
equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative.
Whether the American Dream is possible or not varies from each person, but in my experience, I
believe it can be accomplished. A vast amount of students are attending college, either a community
college or a four year college, making it possible for them to prosper. A lot of first generation students
are seen across college campuses; I am one of those students. Student aid such as the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid makes it possible for students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds
afford college. Parents and the students do not have to deal with the burden of trying to pay for the full
cost of attendance of college. For this reason, ... college enrollment has been rising since 2007 as well
(Tushnet 354). Students going to college get to choose their field of study. By giving them this ability,
they have more motivation to seek success and work hard towards their goal. As a first generation
student, my American Dream is to graduate from college with a bachelor s

The White Spire Essay
There are rumors going about the White Spire. The mages murmur about a murderer in their midst
(Alliteration), careful to keep their conversations behind closed doors and their voices hushed. They
believe the murderer to be a corrupt templar, or perhaps even a virulent traitor among their own kin.
The truth is far more extreme and inexplicable than they realize, however. The murderer of the White
Spire is Cole. What Cole exactly is, not even he knows. Perhaps he is simply a boy that was forgotten
and left to rot in the tower s dungeon, emaciated and dying, and twisted his magic into a new form to
survive. Perhaps he s a lost spirit, confused and disconcerted, or a demon, using the blood he spilt to
sustain himself in the physical realm. Whatever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s even harder to be the mother of a son who was estranged at birth due to both parent and child
being mages. This is the position Wynne finds herself in. Wynne is an elderly senior enchanter with an
abundance of friends in high places and and even greater abundance of stubbornness. Wynne is the
wind, usually an understanding and placid breeze, but able to be whipped up into great gusts of fervor
if it fits her fancy (Metaphor). She can be wrathful, but can also be genial and compassionate. This
nurturing side is shown through her relationship with Rhys, her son: I had to see you, at least once
...reaching out, she cupped his cheek; it was a gentle, affectionate gesture (Gaider 324). Likewise, this
tenderness can be compared to the song I ll Keep You Safe by Sleeping At Last. The piece accurately
illustrates the mentor like figure Wynne attempts to be for Rhys: ...try hard to concentrate, hold out
your hand... the whole world at your fingertips... our mistakes they were bound to be made, I promise
you I ll keep you safe (Cite). Despite the fact that she didn t raise Rhys herself, and only meets him
twice in her life, she loves him. Throughout the book, Wynne tries to get closer to her son, and he
becomes one of her most essential priorities. In the final battle, she sacrifices her own life to save the
woman Rhys loves, standing as testament to a mother s dedication to her child s

School Prayer In School
Thesis: The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Prayer sets a standard for
the students. Allowing prayer in school may improve a lot of things about the students at school. The
behavior of students would change dramatically kids would not be mean to other students. Prayer is a
action which proclaims that life is more than just saving an environment or accumulating wealth
(Hovis 1). People might think that God is evil, our experiments with replacing affirmation of
humanism has been a dismal failure. The only thing of evil is for good men to do nothing. Removing
the school prayer sends a message to our children, when we allow laws to be passed which limit the
free expression. The Federal and Supreme Court judges should be impeached who undermines the
freedom which this country was founded. The situation has become so absurd that that congressional
prayer cannot be voluntarily read in school buildings. The removal of school prayer was a bad thing
for students morals. Mortality declines without prayer, prayer can shape a good citizen. With prayer
students have something to gain, they can be more helpful with others and the peers around them.
Since prayer was removed from school the violence has increased and grade have dropped. SAT s
have dropped drastically. More kids have been birth out of wedlock. Increased in drug used and
increased in juvenile crimes. Deterioration of school behavior also. People also have a choice to be
faithful, most who

main event: The pressure of the diarrhea waterfall protruding Malcolm s bowls causes him lift from
ground, like a fly board. All while maintaining a crouched positioning. Simultaneously, another
purpose less character is brought into the scene, a rodeo cowboy who enters the shot by jumping onto
Malcolm s back and saddling him like a bull (He also has down syndrome). At the apex of flight they
begin rotating uncontrollably in a 360 degree rotation. Finally, a third and completely arbitrary
character enters the scene, a very mangy looking homeless man coupled with an eye patch, nasty
beard, and peg leg. Separate from the events occurring the homeless man sits on the log having a dead
cat anus picnic. Through the trees it is brought to his attention what is happening, this gives him a
Boner. He runs to join in on the action, as he approaches he jumps head first, mouth open beneath the
doo doo fountain. He lands on his head, and due to injury he dies instantly making his only purpose a
mouth receptacle for the feces(In slow motion). The battle of defecation soon curtails leaving
Malcolm badly beaten and battered, near death, and scarcely clinching to the stray threads of life that
he has. (Through all of the action his propellor hat still

Uncanny In The Sand-Man By Sigmund Freud
Out of Sigmund Freud s many definitions of the word uncanny, I found the definition of the uncanny
as something hidden, not known, or withheld from others the most intriguing (223). In The Sand Man,
Hoffman purposefully keeps the audience in the dark through his use of the letter format and
Nathanael s ignorance and hallucinations in order to retain the reader s attention.
Upon starting The Sand Man, any reader would notice the letter style narrative, which serves to drive
the story onward through the reader s curiosity. By telling the part of the story through the character s
correspondence, Hoffman limits the amount of information the audience can receive. Take, for
example, the very first letter from Nathanael, it was only meant for Lothair, meaning Nathanael was
trying to hide information from the other characters. Nathanael even ends the letter by telling Lothair
not to say anything to Nathaniel s mother and that he will write to Clara when he has a somewhat
calmer frame of mind. (9). This deliberate action of obscuring the truth is Freud s very definition of
uncanny. In addition, even if a character is willing to express his or her account, it will no doubt be
influenced by his or her emotions and memories that may or may not be completely accurate.
Describing Coppelius as hideous, cat like, and distorted in surprising and suspicious detail, Nathanael
seems like a rather unreliable narrator (5). Not only was this memory from his childhood and therefore

How Has Propaganda Changed Over Time
Propaganda has many different definitions and interpretations, depending on who you ask. When the
word was first created it referred to the reproduction of plants and animals (Fellows pg 182), gradually
became used as a religious term, from the 1600s until it was rebranded to be used for military
purposes during World War II. The current definition of propaganda has changed quite a bit since the
origin of the word. Michael Parenti for example said that propaganda is the mobilization to influence
the mass audience. Another quote we heard in class defining propaganda was the deliberate attempt of
a few to influence the many to manipulate the facts (K.Khory). While there is no conscience definition
of propaganda especially because the definition has changed over time, it is generally agreed on that it
includes some from of influence to the public.
Propaganda often receives a bad name. People believe that influencing people as negative, however
propaganda as a mere tool is no more moral or immoral than a pump handle (Laswell pg 21). It is not
until the writers of the propaganda intentionally become vicious and spread lies that it becomes ...

Narcissism Research Papers
Narcissism is the complete lack of empathy for others as well as over glorified self esteem. This belief
leads to a decrease in the amount of relationships because narcissists hold themselves on such a high
pedestal. The history of this cautionary trait has come from the self esteem movement which started to
help the depression of people about their bodies, lives, and jobs. Creating this movement started out
well; however, the extremists took it to a whole new level. So what once was a positive now became a
negative because people only care for themselves. The characteristic of narcissism is found in

narcissism can be seen as leading Millennial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
...we are now a society in which more than 4 in 10 children are born out of wedlock, and in which a
teenager has less chance of being raised by both biological parents... (Taylor 54). Narcissists are
incapable of long term relationships, and the fact that families are now also having holes, shows that
the narcissism level is increasing. A lot of times, children are being raised by their grandparents or one
biological parent and a step parent. This is due to the narcissist s need of a trophy significant other
who helps them to feel good. When a significant other starts to slack off with the praise or doesn t fit
what the other person wants, they leave. Much of narcissists behavior in relationships is game playing
, (Twenge 215). This behavior is the use of a person to satisfy another s wants or needs until they don t

Millennial America is changing from narcissism and allowing this characteristic to run the decisions
people make. In The Next America, the author states the decision making world perfectly, How

Melita Hunter s Song Saa Private Island
There was a point, around 56 years ago, when the small towns along the salient southern Cambodian
coast were the height of style. After a near century of French rule, Cambodia became independent in
1953. By then, the population was over seven million, with most of the population being Buddhist.
Throughout this period the people kept holiday villas in Kep, an appealing village nearing the
Vietnamese border as well as in Sihanoukville. However, the country s serenity was torn to pieces in
1970 as Sihanouk was overthrown. The countries captivating coastal towns transformed into burnt out

Japan s Impact On Japan
Introduction: The 2011 Japan Earthquake was one of the most destructive earthquakes that the area
had experienced in centuries. Earthquakes regularly impact Japan due to the nearby subduction zone
under the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This is where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates
meet, which ultimately causes frequent seismic activity. The 2011 earthquake is the 5th largest
recorded since 1900 worldwide, and is classified as a 9.0 reverse fault mega thrust earthquake
(Mantanle 823). What furthered the destructive ability of the earthquake was the upthrust and
subsidence, which generated a series of massive tsunamis that struck the coast of Honshu. These
tsunamis ravaged low lying coastal areas, which led to unmanageable flooding and the meltdown of
the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Japan relies heavily on nuclear power; therefore this
became detrimental to local residents and industries relying on this power source. Japan has proved

Food Affecting Heart Rate
Report
Information
The effects of food on your heart rate
Which of the various food types (Sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and salty) will have the most substantial
effect on a teenage girls heart rate?
A normal resting heart rate for a teenage girl is between 60 and 90 beats per minute. The human heart
is believed to beat faster after one eats a large meal or even a small meal. However, the larger the meal
the faster the heart will beat and the type of food (sour, salty, sugary...) also has an effect on the heart
beat. Heart palpitations are when the heart beats irregularly; normally this is not serious and will be
caused by exercise, stress, eating processed food, drinking some form of stimulant and many more. It
can also be a symptom of arrhythmia; however the subjects that will be chose to be tested will not be
diagnosed with this condition. The quantity of food eaten will also effect the person for example,
having 2 tablespoons of sugar will affect the subject more than if the person ate 1 teaspoon of sugar.

When you think of aircraft, most likely you think of jets, helicopters, and maybe UFOs. The history of
flight has produced many varied designs because people did not know how to fly and there were
numerous ideas on how to make flight work. We are used to seeing jets and helicopters now, but in the
beginning, there were a variety of prototypes based on the needs at the time. There has actually been
fierce competition during the invention phases of planes. One thing that you will notice is that the
Hughes H4 Hercules, or Spruce Goose, as it was commonly known, is not included here. That is not to

The Opposition Of Theatre As An Art Form That Has Been...
Opposition to Theatre Theatre is an art form that has been revered by all civilizations. It is one of the
oldest and most popular forms of art. In order to stay at the forefront of modern culture theatre has had
to endure much opposition. Changing times and changing interests of the world have been reflected in
theatrical advances. One of the biggest challenges facing theatre in the United States today is the
challenge of funding. In a world that becomes increasingly filled with new forms of entertainment it is
difficult for theatre and art to continue to earn their relevance. In order for any form of art or
entertainment to be truly captivating there must be some level of edginess. An example of this is the
popular television series titled Game of Thrones. This show is noted for its scenes of violence, sexual
perversion, and foul language. The shows edginess is a strong contributor to the shows immense

The Animation Of Life In Frankenstein
The Animation of Life by Stories: Literature and Society Doctor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley s
influential novel never reveals the secrets behind the animation of his monster. Even still, the creature
is suddenly thrust into being; thrust into an amalgamation of ebbing and flowing stories and forced to
carve out a story of his own. It can be reasoned that everything which exhibits what we classify as life
carries with it the capacity to simultaneously create and be shaped by stories. Shelley s intentional
decision to keep the methods of the monster s creation hidden allows for the story of the monster itself
to be what truly gives him life and consequently, the story of Frankenstein and his monster has
breathed life into many modern discussions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most poignant example being Victor s wedding night, a night which should be shared between
him and his new bride. Ultimately, Victor is so caught up in his own story that he does not even begin
to reason that his new bride could be the target of his monster s wrath and Victor s beloved dies at the
hands of his creation. (Shelley 151) It is interesting to conjecture that getting caught up in one s own
story is the opposite of animating life, rather, the loss of life. When one is caught up in their own story,
all other stories around it cease to be narratable. By figurative reasoning, when someone s story
becomes un narratable, the life which the story sustains can no longer exist. Arthur Frank comments
that stories are symbiotic, Stories and people need each other. (Frank 37) A person cannot live without
stories and stories can be created, or destroyed, by people. Frankenstein teaches us that stories are
dangerous and out of control, but we depend on them to animate life and without them, life ceases to

Fruit Mold Lab Report
Fruit Molds

November 29, 2016
Anaruth Alfaro
Abstract
In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different environments to asses
which fruit would have the most mold and in which environment the mold would be present the most.
For the experiment we used fruits that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non
organic fruit. Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that
peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot the most in our
warmest environment, the incubator. The fruits were then observed over a period of weeks. At the end
of this period of time the peaches had rotted the most and burst and the peaches in the incubator were
the first to go.
Introduction
After learning about different types of mold in lab as well as in lecture, my group and I were interested
in studying mold more. We wanted to know which fruits from our selected few would rot the most and
in which environment would they be most likely to rot or mold in. We learned ... Show more content

we hypothesized that that out of the tomatoes, peaches, and apples that the peaches would rot the most
and that they would rot the most while in the incubator (an environment which is approximately 90
degrees Fahrenheit). About a month later and having observed our fruits in various increments we
found that the peaches and the tomatoes were pretty close together but they peaches ultimately molded

The Jegagog is the lowest pitched of the gangsa, the gangsa family consists of instruments which have
brass or bronze keys suspended over a resonating bamboo tube. The Balinese gangsa differs from the
Javanese because the keys make a louder sound and are designed to be struck with different hammers.
This instrument also requires long resonating bamboo tubes so is played while sitting on a chair or
bench. It has five keys (1, 2, 3, 5, and 6). This pattern is commonly found in both Java and Bali. It
plays at submultiples of the pokok and is played particularly at important structural points as do the
gongs.
The Jublag is the next higher pitched of the gangsa, this instrument also requires long resonating
bamboo tubes so is often played while sitting on a chair or bench. The Balinese version has 5 keys (1,
2, 3, 5, and 6) seven key Jublag are also commonly found in Bali. It usually plays at submultiples of
the pokok; the keys are struck more frequently than the jegogan and usually less frequently than the
Ugal. It is one octave above the jegogan and shares tones with the Ugal. Another name for the Jublag
is Calung.
The Kantil shares its lower octave with the Pemade. They are above the Ugal which plays the melody.

and how much he liked them and what he did with them on their many travels together across the

William Shakespeare s Henry V, King Henry And The French...
What constitutes honor in society? In Henry V, King Henry and the French invoke its constitution to
incite men into war. Although the reasons that the English and French countrymen fight differ, the
thought of honorably serving their countries stands alone as enough impetus to thrust both onto the
battlefield. But how can honor command such incentive? The answer stems from individualistic pride.
The characters in Henry V see how, as a collective, society has objectively agreed that service to one s
country merits honor, but each character, as an individual, chooses to strive towards that honor
because of his or her own pride. This notion of individualistic pride both consciously and
subconsciously drives daily action. And in Henry V, the insidious intent of pride eclipses the known
vicious nature of war. The motivation for King Henry to wage war on France, the subsequent response
of France s leadership, and the action of the English countrymen emanates from the notion of honor,
but how each individual responds to the desire to fulfill his pride ultimately shapes the field of
Agincourt (4.7.86). Henry V illustrates how honor and pride craft the nature of war. King Henry s
yearning for honor and the challenges to his pride that he receives from his wild younger days
instigates him to pursue war with France. He understands the magnitude of war, even probing the
archbishop of Canterbury s argument to challenge the Salic law: For God doth know how many now

Otello And Desdemona
Otello and Desdemona
Act I of Verdi s Otello starts without a prelude. It starts directly with the storm. This opera has an
aggressive starting which is represented by strong music. The opera begins outside a castle in Cyprus,
near the shore in the midst of an unleashed evening storm full with queasy violin and horn undulations
and high woodwind lightning flashes (Hepokoski, 1987). Verdi represents the storm with trumpets,
cornets, and trombones. Then, followed by Cassio, Montano, and his full train, Otello enters the
castle.
Otello asks everyone to let him alone in order to stay with Desdemona, she moves closer to him. Her
eyes are full of love, and to demonstrate her ecstasy, Verdi uses a solo, muted cello that swells with
Otello s and Desdemona s emotions. Then, Otello starts to embrace her and starts singing his immense
love: Gia nella note densa , and she calls him, Mio Superbo Guerrier . Then, singing a beautiful lyric,
she asks him to remember how speaking both intimately was the foundation of their love: Do you
remember , she says accompanied by the halo of an angelic harp arpeggio. The string instruments
remove their mutes, and a grand, measured largo unfurls, the principal movement of the love duet
(Hepokoski, 1987). Desdemona starts describing how she got in love with the tales of his adventures.
Otello also remembers and both start exchanging wonderful lyrical memories about their relationship.
The end of this beautiful and lovely moment of Otello

Developing Students Social Skills To Improve Peer Writing...
The article Thank You for Sharing: Developing Students Social Skills to Improve Peer Writing
Conferences by Keri Franklin describes Franklin s experience during a training session with a
cooperative learning expert. During the article, Franklin explained how she realized that her workshop
sessions were not going as well as she thought they were going and how she wanted to improve her
sessions. It was only within reading the first few sentences that I realized that this was a great article
for me to read while I lead this workshop for this semester. Unfortunately, not unlike Franklin, my
workshop had not been going well. I needed to help students identify appropriate behaviors used in
everyday social skills and used in effective peer conferences (Franklin 79). This quote spoke to me as
I thought of my workshop and how it has gone so far. As well as having two students in my workshop
that are from another country and English is their second language, I also had students who did not

article helped me find some great tips on how to have a conversation and gain the trust of my students.
As for the language barrier and the lack of proper writing knowledge that I may face in my workshop,
I am aware that it will be difficult, but I believe, with the help of this article, I can succeed in helping

another a position known as trans. The shape of the molecule is fairly straight more like stearic acid

bonds are spaced out fairly evenly so the carbon atoms nearest to the two forming the double bond are

Accuracy of Bayley Scores as Outcome Measures in Trials of...
Introduction
Long term follow up of high risk preterm infants has become increasingly important as the proportion
of infants surviving has increased steadily over the past several decades. It is well known that these
infants are at increased risk of cognitive impairment. (Class) With this increase in at risk survivors,
many clinical research questions arise that can only be answered by long term follow up studies.
(Vohr, Teune) Clinical trials that examine common perinatal therapies should also include a long term
follow up component in their research to examine later neurodevelopmental outcomes in their cohorts.
Although there is no prescribed protocol dictating which specific neurodevelopmental tests are to be
completed during follow up, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development and all its
revisions, is the most widely used test to assess neurodevelopment of very preterm infants in the first
three years of life (Luttikhuizen) and is a common outcome measure used in clinical research trials.
Standardized developmental assessments such as the Bayley that are used in a pediatric clinical trial
setting as primary outcome measures need to be reliably administered and scored. Trained test
administrators and scorers are generally careful that the tests they are administering are conducted and
scored correctly. However, given the range of numerical calculations and transcriptions required in
scoring the results of these tests, there is always a chance that errors

videos will be anywhere they can sell a product or service. They increase the popularity of the site
because most consumers would rather watch a video than read about a product.
The Different Types of Explainer Videos
With any marketing scheme, there are always different formats to obtain the maximum response.
Live Action: This type of Explainer video features real people acting out a scene to sell a product. The
actor might dress a certain way or act a certain way to get their point across. This works best for
companies that are attempting to sell a physical product. This type of advertisement works well for
people oriented services because people relate to the actors in the video.

Sandy Hook Shooting Thesis
On a tragic December day many families saw their children for the last time. They would soon find
out that their children s school had been the site of a school shooting. Adam Lanza killed many
innocent lives and society could possibly benefit from these harsh actions. What would you do if you
never saw your family again? All the families of the victims are still mourning after almost 2 years.
Although the Sandy Hook shooting was a tragic day in history, society can benefit from this.
Sandy Hook was a chaotic town on December 14, 2012 where gunman, Adam Lanza, shot and killed
twenty children and six staff members. Many family members of the victims are still mourning the
loss of their children and loved ones. Over 500 lives were affected after this tragedy (Gay). The author
gives an interview of the superintendent of the school in which he shows what he did after he heard
the news of the shooting. I was in the district office and my secretary told me the bus company

victims families, the city would have been in chaos with the families being very upset ( Six Months ).
Although people may be mad at the superintendent, it s not his fault and he wants to help the families
and help everyone rebound from this tragic event (Gay). Many parents were furious at the
superintendent for not saving their children but he s in as much pain as they are. Although Sandy

According to Inderjeet Dokal there are currently 13 known...
According to Inderjeet Dokal there are currently 13 known variations of genes that cause FA and they
are as follows: FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1, FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCI,
FANCJ, FANCL, FANCM, and FANCN (Dokal, 2008). Dokal and many other doctors agree that FA is
a very penetrant genetic disorder. That is, all of these subtypes of the FA gene can cause many of the
different types of cancer and bone marrow deficiencies that are associated with FA. For example, in
the list given by Dokal, the subtype FANCA is known to express as a gene that controls certain aspects
of protein coding. This one genetic subtype causes breakdowns in the various checkpoints throughout
the cell cycle. As you can imagine, this one gene can destroy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
The expressivity and penetrance of FA are largely based on the number and type of subtypes present.
It was found that a large amount of the subtypes of FA actually interact with each other in one form or
another to cause reactions and abnormalities in many of the pathways that are critical to the replication
and regulation of DNA in each of the cells pathways. Interestingly enough, if just one of the subtypes
is not present, then the expression of the interference is not as extreme as it could be if all of the
subtypes needed for a category were present.
With that said, it s important to understand what happens during a normal cycle of DNA replication.
This will provide a greater understanding of the effects of FA on the DNA replication process. By
understanding the processes and events of replication you can see how those subtypes of FA like
FANCL can be so detrimental to the affected individuals cells. The process of replication in regards to
DNA is a complicated set of processes in which thousands of base pairs are accurately copied and
translated to produce new strands of DNA. It s important to note that DNA replication is a semi
conservative process, this means that every time a new DNA molecule is formed, an old strand is
incorporated along with the new strand. Each cycle recycles at least one of the old strands. The
process of DNA replication begins at specific sites called the origin of replication. This

The Voting Rights Act Of 1965
The United States is a country anchored on the principle of inclusivity and mutual respect. The
country has a dark past characterized with instances of racial profiling and discrimination which
culminated into civil unrests realized in the mid 20th century. Moving forward, the country adopted
strategic frameworks that were to guide towards a new era devoid of discrimination. The aspect of
political participation was one fundamental instrument that was subsequently integrated into the
American social dynamics. The enactment of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 sought to empower the
minority groups to participate in the electoral processes, and to eliminate the barriers that existed in
the political landscape. Some of the achievements of the act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Section 5 highlights that any changes in the state electoral laws, which are deemed to have the
potential to disenfranchise the minority groups must first be approved by the federal agencies
including the US attorney general and the US District Court for D.C. In addition, the section defines
the need for the states with a significant population of minority groups to develop bilingual ballot
papers to ensure that the voters make informed decisions when taking part in the electoral process.
On the other hand, section 4 of the act highlights the need to adopt special coverage formulas to
integrate the minority groups in the entire electoral process. In many instances, the act requires that
such special coverage formulas to be cleared by the federal agencies before they can be applied. The
fundamental goal of the preclearance provision is to prevent discrimination against certain groups of
voters who may be deemed to antagonize the general position of their local political trends. However,
this provision has since been deemed unconstitutional in the Shelby County v. Holder Case of 2013
(Fuller, 2014). Despite the perceived unconstitutionality of the two sections of the act, and the
attempts to review the act to eliminate the clauses, analyses of the political dynamics indicate that the
two sections are still relevant in American politics.
Justifications for the Need for Sections 4 and 5
The first factor which makes the sections necessary is that they

question that is being investigated is how does the human nose recognize a specific smell and why
people smell so many different scents. This question is important because it is a way to figure out the
different odor thresholds. Odor threshold is the minimum amount of the scent needed in order for
someone to recognize the smell in the room.
It is important, that this question is answered because it s a way to find out why it is that people

Summary Judgment is appropriately awarded where the moving party shows that there is no genuine issue as to any material fact and that the moving party is entitled to a judgment as a matter of law. (See Fed. R. Civ. P. The Appellee would have to show that there are, in fact, matters that should be heard by a jury and therefore, the motion should be denied. Next, I looked at the definition of Proximate Cause. According to the Free Dictionary by Farflex, a Proximate Cause is: An act from which an injury results as a natural, direct, uninterrupted consequence and without which the injury would not have occurred. Proximate cause would be the primary cause of an injury. It is not necessarily the closest cause in time or space nor the first event that sets in motion a sequence of events leading to an injury. Proximate cause produces particular, foreseeable consequences without the intervention of any independent or unforeseeable cause. It is also known as legal cause. (web. 26 Feb. 2012 ... • 3. Aristotle s Value Of Happiness Human beings spend a lifetime finding the meaning of life and what makes us happy. In Aristotle s Nicomachean s Ethics, Aristotle gives his own wisdom to his son, Nicomachean on how to achieve the end goal of life which is happiness. He explores this virtue of happiness through many other characteristics and virtues. One of the characteristics, Aristotle explores for one to be happy is moderation. Overindulgence in food, sex, and drinks can lead to dangers in one s life. To obtain happiness and live a complete life, one must be moderate. Aristotle asserts that moderation is a mean with respect to pleasures (Aristotle 62). Aristotle takes into account both the body and soul when discussing pleasures. What gives a person pleasures? In many cases, food, drinks, sex, listening to one s favorite music, and even hanging out with friends can give someone pleasure. Overindulgence of pleasures of the body (food, drink, and sex) is limited compared to the soul (honor and learning) which is unlimited. Aristotle makes the argument that when a person takes enjoyment in the smelling of apples, roses, or incense (Aristotle 64) they are not licentious since that smell could remind that person of a past encounter that could signal desire (Aristotle 64). Aristotle then compares human to animals with the direct reference to a lion; where a lion does not receive desire because it smells the meat of a cow, but because the lion knows that it will take pleasure in eating the cow s meat ... • 4. The Use Of Slang And Its Significance On English Essay Before getting into the abundance of slang and its significance on English, it is first best to cover the four base words of the LGBTQ community and how they have transgressed over time. Queer, lesbian, homosexual, and gay all share an importance to the beginnings of the more modern usages. The origin of queer is unclear, but the Oxford English dictionary defines one of its earliest meanings around 1513 as strange, odd, peculiar, eccentric . It wasn t until the 1900s that it was used as an offensive term for homosexual people, with its original meaning still in context. This changed in the 1990s when early conversations about queer theory were had by social theorists Michel Foucault, Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, Judith Butler, and others. This brought the word into a new light. Of course it still holds some of its derogatory meaning, but by using this word to define a theory that discussed the idea that gender is major part of the necessary self and in gay/lesbian studies it closely examines the socially constructed nature of identities and sexual acts. This reading connects directly with what is happening at present, which is a reclaiming of queer by people in the LGBTQ community to stand for both questioning and sexual and gender minorities. In her article on equality, Lisa Duggan states, Queer people, particularly queer people of color, began to reclaim queer in response to a perceived shift in the gay community toward liberal conservatism, catalyzed by Andrew Sullivan s ... African History Chapter 1 Summary The second chapter of Africans and their History starts off with discussing the very beginning of African civilizations which includes talking about Charles Darwin s The Descent of Man and how the first people originated from Africa instead of Asia like people once thought. The chapter also delves into how the beings before homo sapiens began to evolve and slowly learn new skills. Some of these skills include hunting, creating fire, learning to make clothes and many other useful strategies to for the people living at the time. As time went on, Africans learned to make more useful agriculture tools with the help of iron. Iron was a huge technological advancement around 2000 B.C. giving the people of the time many new ways to grow and harvest plants more efficiently. Chapter 3 of Africans and their History ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Axum symbolizes the wealth and importance of the civilization of the ancient kingdom that was there. The kingdom was at the crossroads of the three continents: Africa, Arabia, and the Greco Roman World, and was the most powerful state between the Eastern Roman Empire and Persia. They were in command of the ivory trade with Sudan, its fleets controlled the Red Sea trade through the port of Adulis and the inland routes of northeastern Africa which was a great feat at the time. Cultural life enjoyed by the Carthaginians may have been below that of the larger cities of the Classical world. Their interests were turned toward commerce rather than art, and Carthage controlled much of the Western trade. In Roman times the Punic beds, cushions, and mattresses were regarded as luxuries, and Punic joinery and furniture were copied. Much of the revenue of Carthage happened to come from its exploitation of the silver mines of North Africa and southern Spain, begun as early as 800 BCE. Piscine, later shortened by himself to Pi, is the main character, the protagonist, and throughout most of this novel just a teenager. At the beginning of the story the reader is taken to the world of Pondicherry, India and to the Pondicherry Zoo run by the Patel Family. The Patel family consists of Pi s mom, Gita, his dad Santosh and his older brother Ravi. As Pi grows up he takes you through his good and bad times, he takes you through the four religions. The third and final part of this book is called Benito Juarez Infirmary, Tomatlan, Mexico. This part is a manuscript from two workers from the Japanese Ministry of Transport, who found out that Pi finally landed. They came to find out exactly why the ship sank. Pi doesn t know for sure why it sank, but he tells the his story. They don t believe that he survived all that time with a Bengal tiger. So he tells them another version just as graphic with replacing the hyena with a cook from the ship, his mom as the orangutan, and a sailor as the hurt zebra. He of course replaced himself with the tiger. The workers weren t thrilled with this story either but all Pi says is, In both stories the ship sinks, my entire family dies, and I suffers (317). One replies yes, that s true. He then tells them that since they can t tell the truth to take the story that they prefer, and go with God. This book was a gripping story that keeps you reading from beginning to end. When I started reading this book I received different responses, from oh it was amazing to that was pure crap. • 8. Pros And Cons Of The American Dream Can young adults today still fulfill their American Dream? This is something that is being questioned across the nation and everyone has a different opinion. In America Now edited by Robert Atwan, Barack Obama and other journalists state their opinion on the American Dream explaining whether it is still possible today. The American Dream defined as the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. Whether the American Dream is possible or not varies from each person, but in my experience, I believe it can be accomplished. A vast amount of students are attending college, either a community college or a four year college, making it possible for them to prosper. A lot of first generation students are seen across college campuses; I am one of those students. Student aid such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid makes it possible for students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds afford college. Parents and the students do not have to deal with the burden of trying to pay for the full cost of attendance of college. For this reason, ... college enrollment has been rising since 2007 as well (Tushnet 354). Students going to college get to choose their field of study. By giving them this ability, they have more motivation to seek success and work hard towards their goal. The mages murmur about a murderer in their midst (Alliteration), careful to keep their conversations behind closed doors and their voices hushed. They believe the murderer to be a corrupt templar, or perhaps even a virulent traitor among their own kin. The truth is far more extreme and inexplicable than they realize, however. The murderer of the White Spire is Cole. What Cole exactly is, not even he knows. Perhaps he is simply a boy that was forgotten and left to rot in the tower s dungeon, emaciated and dying, and twisted his magic into a new form to survive. Perhaps he s a lost spirit, confused and disconcerted, or a demon, using the blood he spilt to sustain himself in the physical realm. Whatever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s even harder to be the mother of a son who was estranged at birth due to both parent and child being mages. This is the position Wynne finds herself in. Wynne is the wind, usually an understanding and placid breeze, but able to be whipped up into great gusts of fervor if it fits her fancy (Metaphor). She can be wrathful, but can also be genial and compassionate. This nurturing side is shown through her relationship with Rhys, her son: I had to see you, at least once ...reaching out, she cupped his cheek; it was a gentle, affectionate gesture (Gaider 324). Likewise, this tenderness can be compared to the song I ll Keep You Safe by Sleeping At Last. The piece accurately illustrates the mentor like figure Wynne attempts to be for Rhys: ...try hard to concentrate, hold out your hand... the whole world at your fingertips... our mistakes they were bound to be made, I promise you I ll keep you safe (Cite). Despite the fact that she didn t raise Rhys herself, and only meets him twice in her life, she loves him. • 10. School Prayer In School Thesis: The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Prayer sets a standard for the students. Allowing prayer in school may improve a lot of things about the students at school. The behavior of students would change dramatically kids would not be mean to other students. Prayer is a action which proclaims that life is more than just saving an environment or accumulating wealth (Hovis 1). People might think that God is evil, our experiments with replacing affirmation of humanism has been a dismal failure. The only thing of evil is for good men to do nothing. Removing the school prayer sends a message to our children, when we allow laws to be passed which limit the free expression. The Federal and Supreme Court judges should be impeached who undermines the freedom which this country was founded. The situation has become so absurd that that congressional prayer cannot be voluntarily read in school buildings. The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Mortality declines without prayer, prayer can shape a good citizen. With prayer students have something to gain, they can be more helpful with others and the peers around them. Since prayer was removed from school the violence has increased and grade have dropped. SAT s have dropped drastically. More kids have been birth out of wedlock. Increased in drug used and increased in juvenile crimes. Deterioration of school behavior also. People also have a choice to be faithful, most who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Uncanny In The Sand-Man By Sigmund Freud Out of Sigmund Freud s many definitions of the word uncanny, I found the definition of the uncanny as something hidden, not known, or withheld from others the most intriguing (223). In The Sand Man, Hoffman purposefully keeps the audience in the dark through his use of the letter format and Nathanael s ignorance and hallucinations in order to retain the reader s attention. Upon starting The Sand Man, any reader would notice the letter style narrative, which serves to drive the story onward through the reader s curiosity. By telling the part of the story through the character s correspondence, Hoffman limits the amount of information the audience can receive. Take, for example, the very first letter from Nathanael, it was only meant for Lothair, meaning Nathanael was trying to hide information from the other characters. Nathanael even ends the letter by telling Lothair not to say anything to Nathaniel s mother and that he will write to Clara when he has a somewhat calmer frame of mind. (9). This deliberate action of obscuring the truth is Freud s very definition of uncanny. In addition, even if a character is willing to express his or her account, it will no doubt be influenced by his or her emotions and memories that may or may not be completely accurate. Describing Coppelius as hideous, cat like, and distorted in surprising and suspicious detail, Nathanael seems like a rather unreliable narrator (5). Not only was this memory from his childhood and therefore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. How Has Propaganda Changed Over Time Propaganda has many different definitions and interpretations, depending on who you ask. When the word was first created it referred to the reproduction of plants and animals (Fellows pg 182), gradually became used as a religious term, from the 1600s until it was rebranded to be used for military purposes during World War II. The current definition of propaganda has changed quite a bit since the origin of the word. Michael Parenti for example said that propaganda is the mobilization to influence the mass audience. Another quote we heard in class defining propaganda was the deliberate attempt of a few to influence the many to manipulate the facts (K.Khory). While there is no conscience definition of propaganda especially because the definition has changed over time, it is generally agreed on that it includes some from of influence to the public. Propaganda often receives a bad name. People believe that influencing people as negative, however propaganda as a mere tool is no more moral or immoral than a pump handle (Laswell pg 21). Earthquakes regularly impact Japan due to the nearby subduction zone under the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This is where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates meet, which ultimately causes frequent seismic activity. The 2011 earthquake is the 5th largest recorded since 1900 worldwide, and is classified as a 9.0 reverse fault mega thrust earthquake (Mantanle 823). What furthered the destructive ability of the earthquake was the upthrust and subsidence, which generated a series of massive tsunamis that struck the coast of Honshu. These tsunamis ravaged low lying coastal areas, which led to unmanageable flooding and the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Japan relies heavily on nuclear power; therefore this became detrimental to local residents and industries relying on this power source. Japan has proved itself somewhat capable to combat biophysical vulnerability with resilience. Japan has employed numerous structural and non structural measures to minimize losses for future hazards. Furthermore, Japan is considered to be one of the world s most successful democracies, and has one of the largest economies. It can be reasoned that everything which exhibits what we classify as life carries with it the capacity to simultaneously create and be shaped by stories. When one is caught up in their own story, all other stories around it cease to be narratable. • 38. William Shakespeare s Henry V, King Henry And The French... What constitutes honor in society? In Henry V, King Henry and the French invoke its constitution to incite men into war. Although the reasons that the English and French countrymen fight differ, the thought of honorably serving their countries stands alone as enough impetus to thrust both onto the battlefield. But how can honor command such incentive? The answer stems from individualistic pride. The characters in Henry V see how, as a collective, society has objectively agreed that service to one s country merits honor, but each character, as an individual, chooses to strive towards that honor because of his or her own pride. This notion of individualistic pride both consciously and subconsciously drives daily action. And in Henry V, the insidious intent of pride eclipses the known vicious nature of war. The motivation for King Henry to wage war on France, the subsequent response of France s leadership, and the action of the English countrymen emanates from the notion of honor, but how each individual responds to the desire to fulfill his pride ultimately shapes the field of Agincourt (4.7.86). Henry V illustrates how honor and pride craft the nature of war. King Henry s yearning for honor and the challenges to his pride that he receives from his wild younger days instigates him to pursue war with France. This opera has an aggressive starting which is represented by strong music. The opera begins outside a castle in Cyprus, near the shore in the midst of an unleashed evening storm full with queasy violin and horn undulations and high woodwind lightning flashes (Hepokoski, 1987). Verdi represents the storm with trumpets, cornets, and trombones. Then, followed by Cassio, Montano, and his full train, Otello enters the castle. Otello asks everyone to let him alone in order to stay with Desdemona, she moves closer to him. Her eyes are full of love, and to demonstrate her ecstasy, Verdi uses a solo, muted cello that swells with Otello s and Desdemona s emotions. Then, Otello starts to embrace her and starts singing his immense love: Gia nella note densa , and she calls him, Mio Superbo Guerrier . Then, singing a beautiful lyric, she asks him to remember how speaking both intimately was the foundation of their love: Do you remember , she says accompanied by the halo of an angelic harp arpeggio. The string instruments remove their mutes, and a grand, measured largo unfurls, the principal movement of the love duet (Hepokoski, 1987). Introduction Long term follow up of high risk preterm infants has become increasingly important as the proportion of infants surviving has increased steadily over the past several decades. It is well known that these infants are at increased risk of cognitive impairment. (Class) With this increase in at risk survivors, many clinical research questions arise that can only be answered by long term follow up studies. (Vohr, Teune) Clinical trials that examine common perinatal therapies should also include a long term follow up component in their research to examine later neurodevelopmental outcomes in their cohorts. Although there is no prescribed protocol dictating which specific neurodevelopmental tests are to be completed during follow up, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development and all its revisions, is the most widely used test to assess neurodevelopment of very preterm infants in the first three years of life (Luttikhuizen) and is a common outcome measure used in clinical research trials. According to Inderjeet Dokal there are currently 13 known variations of genes that cause FA and they are as follows: FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1, FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCI, FANCJ, FANCL, FANCM, and FANCN (Dokal, 2008). Dokal and many other doctors agree that FA is a very penetrant genetic disorder. That is, all of these subtypes of the FA gene can cause many of the different types of cancer and bone marrow deficiencies that are associated with FA. The expressivity and penetrance of FA are largely based on the number and type of subtypes present. It was found that a large amount of the subtypes of FA actually interact with each other in one form or another to cause reactions and abnormalities in many of the pathways that are critical to the replication and regulation of DNA in each of the cells pathways. Interestingly enough, if just one of the subtypes is not present, then the expression of the interference is not as extreme as it could be if all of the subtypes needed for a category were present. With that said, it s important to understand what happens during a normal cycle of DNA replication. This will provide a greater understanding of the effects of FA on the DNA replication process. By understanding the processes and events of replication you can see how those subtypes of FA like FANCL can be so detrimental to the affected individuals cells. The process of replication in regards to DNA is a complicated set of processes in which thousands of base pairs are accurately copied and translated to produce new strands of DNA. It s important to note that DNA replication is a semi conservative process, this means that every time a new DNA molecule is formed, an old strand is incorporated along with the new strand. Each cycle recycles at least one of the old strands. The process of DNA replication begins at specific sites called the origin of replication. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Section 5 highlights that any changes in the state electoral laws, which are deemed to have the potential to disenfranchise the minority groups must first be approved by the federal agencies including the US attorney general and the US District Court for D.C. In addition, the section defines the need for the states with a significant population of minority groups to develop bilingual ballot papers to ensure that the voters make informed decisions when taking part in the electoral process. On the other hand, section 4 of the act highlights the need to adopt special coverage formulas to integrate the minority groups in the entire electoral process. In many instances, the act requires that such special coverage formulas to be cleared by the federal agencies before they can be applied. The fundamental goal of the preclearance provision is to prevent discrimination against certain groups of voters who may be deemed to antagonize the general position of their local political trends.
