Essay On Living Standards In The UK
There is no doubt that the United Kingdom s living standards evolved positively during this last
decade. Living standard is understood as the level of income and comfort of a person, family or a
group, and the UK increasing the quality of their public services allowed them to move up their
ranking position by two places since 2009 in the Legatum Prosperity Index, and presently, the UK
ranks the tenth position in the world. However, the United Kingdom hasn t been developing their
economic growth s quality since the European Great Recession and also it is not improving its
business environment. The UK is no more competitive as other years due to their market flexibility
and entrepreneurship. Other developing countries are progressing faster ... Show more content on

According to Priti Patel s speech in July 2016, as the Secretary of State for International Development
from the UK, said that they started an economic development strategy , which has the main goal to
strengthen developing countries ability to trade more with external partners (including the UK) while
helping to create millions of jobs in countries across the world. In this case, African countries would
be considered as their trading partners of the future, she said. When the UK came out from the
European Union, existing relationships with African countries had to be renovated in order to establish
new trade and investment links, hence African regions would allow British businesses to arise again.
The African oil exports and metals are indispensable for the UK agricultural and manufacturing areas
nowadays, and as the UK has more access to African trading market, they also take advantage of an
easier access to those natural resources. If the UK supports African economic growth by strengthening
their trade agreements, then the UK would increase the living standard of its population. However,
African manufactured goods are being exported to many other powerful countries in the world and
with the highest economic growth, and those countries would include China and the U.S. At this point,
as the demand for African manufactured goods and resources

himself properly and Cas doesn t want to hurt Dean. So he waits until has settled himself on Cas dick.
Ugh, you re so huge, he whimpers and then starts moving. Cas has to moan, the sensation of Dean
around him is driving him mad. Dean is moving up and down Cas cock, faster and faster. Cas starts
moving his hips, thrusting inside Dean, meeting him every time. And then he pushes against Dean s

Dwarf Planet Ceres Research Paper
Ceres Exploration This space based planetary exploration mission targets the dwarf planet Ceres,
which is the mission subject, or more specifically, the surface of the dwarf planet is the subject. The
surface of Ceres is covered in countless small, young craters (Davis, n.d.). Within some of Ceres
craters, there are regions that are always in shadow. It s possible that without direct sunlight, these
cold traps could have water ice in them for long periods of time (Davis, n.d.). The sign of water on the
dwarf planet could mean big for the scientists in earth. It suggests a possible sign of life on the dwarf
planet. The mission s objectives are to study the surface of Ceres to find water or signs of water and, if
water is found, study the possibility of life on the dwarf planet. A rover will be the payload of the
mission, trying to carry out the mission s objectives. The mission duration will be an unlimited
amount of time or until total and permanent communication loss happens with the rover. This mission
will ultimately benefit NASA and humankind. These can also be called the mission users. ... Show

ever arose on Mars ( Science Goal 1, n.d.). The technology used on the Curiosity rover had a goal to
find life, so why not use the same equipment to find life on another planet. Finding life on other

Four Pieces For Timpani Essay
Music has always been part of our daily lives, rooted in our culture and contributing to our
development. Listening to and playing music allows us to experience a wide range of emotions
including pleasure, joy, sadness, angst etc; it touches us at a subconscious level and influences life
changing experiences. In my opinion the rhythms used in music are comparable to the rhythms in our
speech and communication. In this paper, the link between rhythms and speech will be identified
using the rhythmic qualities of the following pieces: Earth Dance by Bill Douglas; The Recital Snare
Drum Suite by William
J. Schinstine and Four Pieces for Timpani by John Bergamo as a medium to do so.
Rhythm is everywhere. Its exists in nature, in traffic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that in the name of the piece itself there is a deeper meaning. If we look at the name Four
Pieces FOR Timpani with the emphasis on the word FOR , this implies that he didn t intentionally
compose the piece for an audience but for each Timpano by its self. He named the first movement,
Recitative. Recitative according to the oxford dictionary means, A musical declamation of the kind
usually in the narrative and dialogue parts of Operas, sung in the rhythms of ordinary speech with
many words on the same note. So by taking this definition into consideration, the way he composed
and structured the first movement shows a dialog between each drum. A lot of the rhythmic groups are
usually started on one drum and eventually moves to the other drums as if it were a call and answer.
Human beings as I mentioned earlier speaks within a rhythm or rhythmic structure, this can me seen
using the concept of Audiation, some examples are as follows using groupings that are present in the
piece;
*Triplets Beautiful
*Sixteenth notes Peanut Butter
*Quintuplets Hippopotamus
*Eight notes

Development Of The Model T And The Assembly Line Transform...
The question that I will answer is, How did Henry Ford and the development of the Model T and the
assembly line transform American culture? Henry Ford was a extraordinary business man. He could
arguably be viewed as one of the most important people of his time. Ford did not always succeed in
business. His failures were his early business and early car models that could not run more than a few
minutes. However, his luck turned around with the start of current day Ford Motor Company and the
eventual Model T. Ford was always thinking and wanting to perfect his cars and business. With his
hard work he started to develop the assembly line so that Ford could reach his goal of 1,000 cars a
day. With all of these changes of developments in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before than assembly line cars were being produced every 12 hours, with the new assembly line Ford
was turning out cars every hour and a half. With the development of the assembly line Ford was able
to produce cars faster than any other car company. This allowed Ford to maintain more than 50% of
the automobile market share. Henry Ford was a extremely intelligent business man. Throughout his
career he was always thinking of ways to improve his process to make costs cheaper and to produce
the Model T quicker. Without this ideology Ford might not of been successful as he was. This was his
life s work and he wanted to perfect it. The quality of the Model T and assembly line where direct
results of Ford always wanting to improve his work. He also surrounded himself with men who lived
and breathed the same work he did. According to My Forty Years with Ford , With this group, work
was play. If it had not been play, it would have killed them. They were as men possessed. They often
forgot to eat. (Sorensen ,Williams, 54) His accomplishments as a business man was because he loved
his work. Henry Ford could have priced the Model T to attract wealthy buyers. He would of sold less
cars but might have been able to make more money. Ford was not in the car business to make money
but to improve transportation. The quality of roads and reliability of automobiles at that time were
awful. Something needed to be done to fix these issues. Even some of Ford s early

The Challenges Posed For Religious Believers By Religious
The challenges posed for religious believers by Religious diversity will be discussed in this paper.
First, one must understand what Religious diversity is. Religious Diversity refers to religions making
mutually exclusive claims that contradict one another. For this discussion, Religious Diversity will
focus on contradictory claims on reaching salvation and connecting with god depending upon ones
personal religion. This discussion pertains to all major western religions like Judaism, Islam, and
Christianity especially, but other religions as well that claim to be the one absolute religion. These
contradictions leave a religious individual with the dilemma of constructing an argument that
rationally explains how there can be multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, numerous religions like Hinduism or Judaism were being practiced thousands of years
prior to Christianity s founding. How can one understand all those peoples existences? It does not
seem plausible to believe that their lives were pointless and they had no connection to god, or no
chance of reaching salvation due to their time of birth. To be punished for something that is out of
ones control is not plausible for an all powerful and merciful god to do. Another problem with
religious exclusivism is how to understand pious people from various religions and cultures. It is not
plausible that there are some individuals, from all different backgrounds, that in every sense of the
word are exceptional humans whether it be through charity, generosity, kindness, or just being a moral
person. Some of these concepts like being a good person or being a moral person are subjective, but
the basic foundation of being a moral person, at least from a western monotheistic perspective,
appears to be do unto others as you would want done unto yourself, also known as the golden rule. If
one is aware that these pious people exist as followers of all religions, then one has to conclude that it
is a flawed argument to suggest that these individuals would not achieve salvation simply due to
which god they pray to. Other questions that arise when discussing Religious Exclusivism are; If
Christianity is the

Although the Saturday at Phoenix Simulation was full of fun, friends, and imaginative stations, there

with the greatest attention to detail and simple objective while managing to emphasize this year s
theme.
There was only one thing that everyone noticed as we walked through the Black Box Theater: this
camp looked like the real deal! The dim lighting and ambient sounds of river flow and crickets
through the surround sound speakers gave us the sensation of a peaceful night out under the stars. This

be in peril . Statistically, there was only a minuscule chance of unanimously voting out the werewolf

and use rhetoric to persuade others to follow in your footsteps, then you were the best suited to
complete the task. Every new day was a day that changed the world or, in this case, the camp and it
relied on the cooperation and deductive reasoning of each of the tents to decide on which tent smelled
of a little more werewolf than the others. Camp Feenicks, therefore, suggested that you must seek
knowledge before making decisions because every move you make will have a significant impact on
the future. This global connection to theme as well demonstrated in the story was the final reason why

Greek Culture Vs Callatian Culture
In the article, it talked about how the different cultures around the world have different sets of values,
which may seem wrong to one culture, but completely normal to another. The article gave an example
of the Greeks and Callatians, who have very different cultural values of what to do with the dead. The
Greeks believed in cremating the dead, while the Callatians ate their dead as a sign of respect. To one
culture, the other seemed completely barbaric and disrespectful, and they would never do the other, as
proved by King Darius. This lesson, althougn many years old, still applied to today, even in a place as
diverse as America. There are many locations in America where it is not very culturally diverse. I feel

Was Thomas Paine Made No Secret For His Hatred Of The...
Kristen Thompson
Common Sense
M/W 2 3:15 Thomas Paine made no secret for his hatred of the British monarchy. This was partially
due to their absolutism beliefs, the oppression of his countrymen, and the system of government where
the rich got richer and the poor get poorer. He believed that Britain would never have a balanced
government so long as monarchy and hereditary succession stayed in place. When Thomas Paine
immigrated to Philadelphia, several things had strong influences on his writing of Common Sense.
The Intolerable acts as well as the Enlightenment Challenge influenced his writing concerning the
view of parliament and British monarchy (maybe switch this sentence for the next one). After
Parliament had passed The Intolerable Acts, Paine watched the continuation and control the British
Monarchy and Parliament had in America, along with their unnatural behaviors and influence over
government issues, the ideological changes that came from The Enlightenment Challenge . Paine
believed change could and should happen; that America could find economic independence and not
carry any burden of debt if they separated from Britain since their debt was actually Britain s in the
first place. Paine said that there could be no reconciliation; he understood that to become free and
have liberties with an independent government there was no going back, only forward. Paine had a
strong desire to see religious freedom become possible, and for people to have the right to choose and

The Performance Appraisal Process Is Defined As The...
The performance appraisal process is defined as the process which a manager (1) examines and
evaluates an employee s work behavior by comparing it with preset standards, (2) documents the
results of the comparison, and (3) uses the results to provide feedback to the employee to show where
improvements are needed and why (Business Dictionary, 2015). Performance appraisals are used to
determine who needs what training, and who will be promoted, demoted, retained, or fired within
organizations (Business Dictionary, 2015). Performance appraisals have changed over time (Glen,
1990). The BARS or behaviorally anchored rating scales evaluated employee traits such as reliability
and cooperation (Glen, 1990). This system was later replaced by a management by objectives which
sets performance objectives and appraised (Glen, 1990). More recently this was replaced by the merit
pay and pay for performance systems (Glen, 1990). All the appraisal system attempt to maximize
objectivity while minimizing uncertainty and subjectivity (Glen, 1990). Performance appraisals are
often viewed as a no win situation by both managers and employees (Glen, 1990). Managers view
performance appraisals as their job to provide performance feedback and motivate employees in order
to drive individual and organizational improvements (Glen, 1990). Employees see performance
appraisals as the means to an increased income, improved skills through developmental training and
promotional opportunities (Glen,

Education In Japanese Internment Camps
Education for Japanese at the time was not very effective, so you can only imagine how education for
children in the internment camps was at the time. Out of the nearly 120,000 inhabitants of the camps
about 30,000 of those people were children, and these children needed to be educated in some way.
Most of these classrooms were taught in Japanese and was the exact opposite of what these children
needed. The fact that not all the education was in English was detrimental to the kids who were mostly
all citizens. The teachers never had the appropriate material to teach their students, these crowded
schools were just a way of making it seem like the government cares about the children. The materials
that the teachers did have were not knowledgeable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The push for reparations did not come up until nearly forty years later when President Jimmy Carter
investigated the issue in 1980. It was determined that the internment was unethical and the citizens
remaining today should receive some sort of reparations. The main reasons it was decided upon on
why these individuals were interned was because of racial prejudice and hysteria. Finally, in 1988 the
Civil Liberties Act was passed by President Ronald Regan, and this act gave reparations to individuals
who were at some point relocated or interned. The reparations and apology was given out starting in
1990 to all the individuals who were still alive, Beginning in 1990, each surviving internee was given
a $20,000 cash payment, along with a letter of apology from the government (DeWitt). Many were
overjoyed that they had some time of reparation for what they went through. However, many
organizations such as the American Legion, and many World War II veterans showed clear resistance
to the reparations. They completely disagreed with the reparations because in their eyes the Japanese
were evil in their eyes, and it was difficult for them to look upon the Japanese in any other way. These
men are more obviously more biased because they were on the front line fighting the Japanese
enemies. So much resistance was shown towards these reparations and comments

Essay On A New Perspective
To what degree can the narrator s choices and actions influence the direction her life will take, it will
depend on the narrator because it will be the choices she will make that will break the pattern that was

that stands out to me above the rest. This child spends all her time wishing that she had the family life

without even thinking, whether that is giving hugs, kisses, mending a hurt knee, watching their sports
team, tucking our kids into bed every night or just sitting at the kitchen table watching them doing
their homework. Simple things that this narrator could have only envisioned of. Then there is the
mother s perspective, wanting to cook supper for her family, run your children a bubble bath before

Medieval Kings Compare And Contrast
The comparison and contrast of medieval kings demonstrates how they evolved and struggled as the
kings of this time period. It starts off with the destruction of Rome. Due to factors such as famine,
economics, barbarians attacks, and the Black Death, Rome was destroyed. Rome became the perfect
ideal of the time. The kings throughout the middle ages would try to recreate Rome, but they never got
back to the perfect city they imagined it to be. That being said, most of the kings learned from the
kings prior to them and advanced towards a society that was more like Rome. Religion was a huge
contrast point between kings of this time. For example, Charlemagne reformed religion in his society
during his kingship. It was stated that, He(Charlemagne) cherished with the greatest fervor and
devotion the principles of the Christian religion, which had been instilled into him from infancy
(Geary, 276). Religion was an important aspect of Charlemagne s life. He realized that French and
Latin were not the same, and the Bible they were reading was not the same as the Latin version. In
fear that they were practicing Christianity wrong, he brought in monks to correct the bibles and teach
people how to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a huge change from prior kings and the churches. Previously, only those in power and monks
could read and write. This provided leverage over society. The king could twist what the Bible said or
even change the passages completely in order to get people to listen or convert to Christianity. The
public being able to read the Bible meant that the Bible and God could no longer be used a threat to
rule people. When no one was able to read, they did not know what the Bible said and had to believe
the king. People were threatened of not being able to go to Heaven if they did something that God said
was wrong . Charlemagne also appointed the Pope and was very humble about his

Essay On Identity In Othello
A change in an individual s perspective and identity can enrich an individual s sense of belonging.
Conversely, an individual s sense of belonging may be destroyed when a change in their perspective
and identity occurs. An identifiable example is Othello, wherein it is perceivable that his notion of
identity and strong sense of self is shattered. His calm and collective persona has become one that is
unstable and insecure which, in turn, affects his sense of belonging, particularly with Desdemona, and
position as a Venetian general. A demonstration of this concept is seen in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 61 62)
where Iago exclaims There s many a beat then in a populous city, And many a civil monster. Within
the quote, Iago identifies animalistic characteristics through the use of animal imagery to compare
with Othello s changed demeanour. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He attempts to convince Othello that animalistic behaviour is of the norm in Venice, using the
metaphorical aspect that relates to Othello s collected persona that has metamorphosed into a mad and
unstable man, depicting Othello s downfall and changed perspective of self. His sense of belonging
has spiralled as he no longer trusts the woman he loved the most. A quote that further supports this
idea is found in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 60) in which Iago states: A hornèd man s a monster and a beast .
Iago challenges Othello s sense of belonging through the animalistic imagery and metaphor. Othello
believes that it is his own fault he is not able to satisfy his wife s sexual desires and is dejected,
referring to himself as being the cuckold of Venetian society. The word horned alludes to figurative
horns that a husband grew to showcase his wife s infidelity, which brought about much chagrin and

PH constant and Mucin to make food slimy and easier to pass down the oesophagus. Peristalsis is the
movement of food by coordinated involuntary muscle contractions. Peristalsis is used in the

the brain cells and slow the progression of the disease. Conversely, some believe that Alzheimer s is
impossible to fight, regardless of the precautions taken. This paper will examine Alzheimer s disease
and also explore in depth on the following topics: the prevalence of Alzheimer s in males vs. ... Show

Frank Longo said it best when he stated, We have cured Alzheimer s in mice. Why can t we move that
success to people? (Time Magazine)
There is research that suggests altering the lifestyle can lower the risk of developing Alzheimer s
disease. There are also two more ways that people can stay healthy and they are: using cannabinoids
and avoiding benzodiazepines. The former is found in marijuana and the latter in anxiety, epilepsy,
and sleep medications. In the benzodiazepine study, the researchers took hundreds of Canadian
participants that were over the age of 66 and grouped them based on whether they had ever used
benzodiazepines. This research was conducted by de Gage, Moride, Ducruet, Kurth, Verdoux,
Tournier, Pariente, and Begaud in 2014. The study on cannabinoids, a significant component found in
marijuana, was done by Bachmeier, Beaulieu Abdelahad, Mullan, and Paris in 2013. These studies
play an essential role in illustrating how this disease can be prevented. There may not be a definitive
cure for those who are already deeply afflicted with this disease, even in the future. However,
examining studies on cannabinoids and benzodiazepines may help those who are in the early stages or
have no clinical signs of Alzheimer s. In regards to the benzodiazepine study, the participants who did
not ever use benzodiazepines were placed in the control group (de Gage 2014). The main finding of
this study was the fact that benzodiazepine use is correlated to

The Influence Of The Zeitgeist In The 1960s
Zeitgeist is a word that comes straight from German zeit means time and geist means spirit, and the
spirit of the time is what s going on culturally, religiously, or intellectually during a certain period.
Think about how something like Woodstock symbolized the 1960s: Woodstock was part of the
Zeitgeist of the 1960s. Whatever seems particular to or symbolic of a certain time is likely part of its
Zeitgeist. During every time period or era, there was and is and forever will be something that will be
Zeitgeist representative of the time. The likes of Elvis Presley being the Zeitgeist of the 1950 s Rock
and Roll scene often referred to as The King of Rock and Roll , to Metallica in my opinion one of the
most influential bands of metal and also being one of the most successful band commercially, all the

Racial Prejudice By The Film Crash Essay
The term racial prejudice is defined as having a negative belief that is unfairly applied to all
individuals of an ethnic group even if such individuals have different characteristics as in personality,
appearance, and perspective. In society, many individuals believe that racial prejudice only focuses on
one particular social group, whereas others view racial prejudice pertaining to all races. However,
racial prejudice is without a doubt a phenomenon, one that isn t specific to one ethnic or social group,
instead prevalent in all groups of people that affect or are affected by the institution of racism.
Different associations and relationships play a vital role in how we perceive others, at times people
view others through the lens of racial prejudice. Crash, a movie directed by (put director s name),
shows different ethnic groups that face challenges within their lives as they clash into one another by
certain situations. In addition, Crash itself also focuses on many racial prejudices that occur in society.
The film Crash highlights the very notion that racial prejudice is experienced by many groups because
various ethnic groups are constantly violated for having different physical appearances; mocked for
having a different culture, and excluded from opportunities within society s social structure.
Different ethnic groups all go through racial prejudice with one another. As one particular group goes
through being physically or verbally violated, so does other social

Analytical Essay On The Killer Angels
In The Killer Angels, by Michael Shaara, stories of the events leading up to the Civil War s Battle of
Gettysburg, as well as the battle itself, are told from both the Northern and Southern perspectives.
During the Civil War men fought for various reasons. Shaara uses the thoughts and actions of his
characters to identify each person s purpose for fighting. There were many factors that led men to fight
in the Civil War. While soldiers had many reasons to fight, Michael Shaara s The Killer Angels, brings
focus to three major factors and characters: Robert E. Lee fought for his homeland, Joshua Lawrence
Chamberlain fought for an ideal and Jeb Stuart fought for the glory. While thinking about an

Reagan was the 40th President of the United States and took office during a time of economic crisis, a
disorderly foreign policy, and a decline in national morale. When Reagan left office 8 years later, the
economic crisis was over, foreign policy was at an all time high and national morale had been

President Reagan sought to use team building to devise a cohesive team with US, Soviet Union and
Allied Nations. During these long drawn out treaties the different nations would use the Z Process to
come up with terms and conditions that would ultimately end decades of nuclear impasse. President
Reagan and other political leaders were in constant state of creating, advancing, refining and
executing their ideas. In the Geneva and Reykjavík Summits the allied nation team were not able to
come to decision and instead were stuck in the refining process of their ideas. The summits were still
looked upon as a success as Reagan was moving the team closer to the vision of nuclear abolishment.
It wasn t until the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 1987 where the team was able to
complete the entire Z Process and come to a decisive decision to abolish nuclear intermediate range
weapons. Reagan demonstrated he was a visionary leader by his use of team building while utilizing
the Z Process during treaty talks to come up with a solution to the nuclear stand. His use of
inspirational motivation during these treaty talks to motivate the allied nations to commit to the
common vision once again demonstrates how Reagan was a visionary leader.

There is an increase in health care advances which allows for many aging individuals to be able to live
and work past the age of 65 (current Medicare eligibility age). Some individuals make the decision to
retire at 65, even though they can continue to work, and qualify for Medicare instead of paying for
health insurance through their old employers. If the age was increased to 70 years old and the same
population continued to keep working then it would reduce the need for Medicare coverage for those
that can still qualify for benefits through their employers (Davidoff, 2003). This would continue to
save the Federal government money for Medicare. This also goes along with the life expectancy rising
which means individuals are staying on Medicare coverage for a longer period of time which means
more spending (Khimm, 2013). If the minimum eligibility age was increase then it would line up
better with the life expectancy and continue to save the Federal government more and more

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Argali Sheep
Argali sheep, or the Ovis ammon, are calm, social, non aggressive animals that are related to the
common domestic sheep. They inhabit the mountainous areas of Central and Southern Asia and have a
lifespan of 10 13 years. Argali are approximately the same length as the domestic sheep but are much
taller and heavier, as their weight ranges from 65 180 kilograms, their shoulder height from 90 120
centimeters, and their length from 120 200 centimeters. The coats of these sheep are light yellow to a
darker grey brown in color, and they have lighter faces, abdomens, and inner legs. Ewes have grey
hooves while rams have black hooves. Argali (rams) are also the fastest sheep, as they can run for up
to an hour straight at 50 kilometers per hour with their long, thin legs and compact bodies. Known for
their famous horns, a ram s corkscrew horn can be up to 13 percent of the males body mass and are
usually the prized possession of hunters. While a ram s horns can reach over 150 centimeters, female

Joseph Stalin s Life And Life
Joseph Stalin
On March 18, 1878 in the small town of Gori Georgia a woman named Keke Geladze give birth to a
baby boy by the name of Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili (later changed to Joseph Stalin). At the time,
obviously, Keke had no idea of what that little boy would go on to do. She had no idea that by the end
of his life that same baby boy would have a kill count of around up to 20 million people and would
have tortured millions of millions of people along with becoming one of the most powerful man in
history and Russia s dictator.
As a child, Joseph Stalin was treated below par by the children in the village, the other children
supposed they were superior. This was one of main things that caused him to crave respect as an adult.
As you know by his killcount, Joseph Stalin would rarely forgive the people that betrayed him
remorselessly.
His mother hoped that stalin would become a priest, and as you already know things didn t turn out as
she had hoped. He was enlisted in church school in 1888. A mixture of his effort and his intelligence
in school earned him a scholarship for Tiflis Theological Seminary in 1894.
In 1899 Stalin left school the official reason being he was incapable of paying the tuition thus causing
him to drop out. However there was belief that he didn t actually drop out, rather, he was demanded to
leave because of his political views. In sometime around 1902, Joseph Stalin coordinated a labour
strike and was arrested and exiled to Siberia. In the

Moralism In Les Miserables
Jean Valjean, the central figure in Victor Hugo s Les Miserables, has dual meanings. In real life, he is
typical figure who suffers from being oppressed and hurt, and struggle against the society; in the
spiritual realm, he is a moralist who has a noble personality and benevolent spirit. His tragic fate has
let him experience three stages of development, including the hatred for the human society, the
recovery of human nature and finally moral sublimation. In the first stage, he is hatred to the human
and the law and further to all things, and he performs a constant fierce and is ready to harm all people.
This is derived from his prison experience. He was sentenced to 19 years of hard labor for stealing a
piece of bread and later several prison breaks. In the prison, he judges himself, and then he judges the
society, the law, and God, and he became the man who is not afraid of all things. After his release, he
firstly wants to rely on his own for a living, but the society blocked him from all the way. This unfair
punishment makes him determine to be evil, with a heart full of the hatred of society, then the hatred
of the human race, then the hatred of creation, and which manifests itself by a vague, incessant, and
brutal desire to do harm to some living being, no matter whom (p.104). His tough and unruly
personality as well as hostility to human society let him steal the silverware in from Bishop Myriel

how the thumb of the brown spider monkey is reduced, which is helps in swinging and gripping
branches while the monkey travels in the upper canopy of the rainforest. The coloration of brown
spider monkeys ranges from light to dark brown on the upper parts of their body and their head, while
the inside of the arms and legs is a slightly lighter color of brown. Some individuals of the brown
spider monkey population also possess the conspicuous characteristic of a white triangular forehead
patch. Behaviorally, the brown spider monkey is a diurnal and very social species. They live in what
are known as fission fusion societies in which smaller groups, up to about 30 members, are formed
during the day. Male spider monkeys usually travel in all male groups while females travel with other
females and their offspring, though it is not necessarily unusual to find a brown spider monkey
traveling or foraging alone. At night, brown spider monkeys sleep in trees in the high canopy away
from most predators. They choose a location to sleep that is near a fruit tree so they do not have to
travel far the next day to find food. Differences in sizes of these groups occur due to varying
availability of fruit. When fruit is abundant, the groups tend to be larger and when the amount of fruit
is limited they

  • 2. Essay On Living Standards In The UK There is no doubt that the United Kingdom s living standards evolved positively during this last decade. Living standard is understood as the level of income and comfort of a person, family or a group, and the UK increasing the quality of their public services allowed them to move up their ranking position by two places since 2009 in the Legatum Prosperity Index, and presently, the UK ranks the tenth position in the world. However, the United Kingdom hasn t been developing their economic growth s quality since the European Great Recession and also it is not improving its business environment. The UK is no more competitive as other years due to their market flexibility and entrepreneurship. Other developing countries are progressing faster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Priti Patel s speech in July 2016, as the Secretary of State for International Development from the UK, said that they started an economic development strategy , which has the main goal to strengthen developing countries ability to trade more with external partners (including the UK) while helping to create millions of jobs in countries across the world. In this case, African countries would be considered as their trading partners of the future, she said. When the UK came out from the European Union, existing relationships with African countries had to be renovated in order to establish new trade and investment links, hence African regions would allow British businesses to arise again. The African oil exports and metals are indispensable for the UK agricultural and manufacturing areas nowadays, and as the UK has more access to African trading market, they also take advantage of an easier access to those natural resources. If the UK supports African economic growth by strengthening their trade agreements, then the UK would increase the living standard of its population. However, African manufactured goods are being exported to many other powerful countries in the world and with the highest economic growth, and those countries would include China and the U.S. At this point, as the demand for African manufactured goods and resources ... • 4. Dwarf Planet Ceres Research Paper Ceres Exploration This space based planetary exploration mission targets the dwarf planet Ceres, which is the mission subject, or more specifically, the surface of the dwarf planet is the subject. The surface of Ceres is covered in countless small, young craters (Davis, n.d.). Within some of Ceres craters, there are regions that are always in shadow. It s possible that without direct sunlight, these cold traps could have water ice in them for long periods of time (Davis, n.d.). The sign of water on the dwarf planet could mean big for the scientists in earth. It suggests a possible sign of life on the dwarf planet. The mission s objectives are to study the surface of Ceres to find water or signs of water and, if water is found, study the possibility of life on the dwarf planet. A rover will be the payload of the mission, trying to carry out the mission s objectives. The mission duration will be an unlimited amount of time or until total and permanent communication loss happens with the rover. This mission will ultimately benefit NASA and humankind. These can also be called the mission users. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If water is found on the surface of Ceres, there is a possibility of life on the dwarf planet. The rover will use the equipment and technology used on the Curiosity rover on mars to study the possibility of life on the dwarf planet ( In Situ, n.d.). One of the goals the Curiosity rover was to determine if life ever arose on Mars ( Science Goal 1, n.d.). The technology used on the Curiosity rover had a goal to find life, so why not use the same equipment to find life on another planet. Finding life on other planets is a fundamental goal to humankind. Studying the life could help NASA and scientist unlock more knowledge on how life began on Earth. That knowledge will benefit humankind to better understand the universe and how it all began ... • 5. Four Pieces For Timpani Essay Music has always been part of our daily lives, rooted in our culture and contributing to our development. Listening to and playing music allows us to experience a wide range of emotions including pleasure, joy, sadness, angst etc; it touches us at a subconscious level and influences life changing experiences. In my opinion the rhythms used in music are comparable to the rhythms in our speech and communication. In this paper, the link between rhythms and speech will be identified using the rhythmic qualities of the following pieces: Earth Dance by Bill Douglas; The Recital Snare Drum Suite by William J. Schinstine and Four Pieces for Timpani by John Bergamo as a medium to do so. Rhythm is everywhere. Its exists in nature, in traffic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that in the name of the piece itself there is a deeper meaning. If we look at the name Four Pieces FOR Timpani with the emphasis on the word FOR , this implies that he didn t intentionally compose the piece for an audience but for each Timpano by its self. He named the first movement, Recitative. Recitative according to the oxford dictionary means, A musical declamation of the kind usually in the narrative and dialogue parts of Operas, sung in the rhythms of ordinary speech with many words on the same note. So by taking this definition into consideration, the way he composed and structured the first movement shows a dialog between each drum. A lot of the rhythmic groups are usually started on one drum and eventually moves to the other drums as if it were a call and answer. Human beings as I mentioned earlier speaks within a rhythm or rhythmic structure, this can me seen using the concept of Audiation, some examples are as follows using groupings that are present in the piece; *Triplets Beautiful *Sixteenth notes Peanut Butter *Quintuplets Hippopotamus *Eight notes ... • 6. Development Of The Model T And The Assembly Line Transform... The question that I will answer is, How did Henry Ford and the development of the Model T and the assembly line transform American culture? Henry Ford was a extraordinary business man. He could arguably be viewed as one of the most important people of his time. Ford did not always succeed in business. His failures were his early business and early car models that could not run more than a few minutes. However, his luck turned around with the start of current day Ford Motor Company and the eventual Model T. Ford was always thinking and wanting to perfect his cars and business. With his hard work he started to develop the assembly line so that Ford could reach his goal of 1,000 cars a day. With all of these changes of developments in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before than assembly line cars were being produced every 12 hours, with the new assembly line Ford was turning out cars every hour and a half. With the development of the assembly line Ford was able to produce cars faster than any other car company. This allowed Ford to maintain more than 50% of the automobile market share. Henry Ford was a extremely intelligent business man. Throughout his career he was always thinking of ways to improve his process to make costs cheaper and to produce the Model T quicker. Without this ideology Ford might not of been successful as he was. This was his life s work and he wanted to perfect it. The quality of the Model T and assembly line where direct results of Ford always wanting to improve his work. He also surrounded himself with men who lived and breathed the same work he did. According to My Forty Years with Ford , With this group, work was play. If it had not been play, it would have killed them. They were as men possessed. They often forgot to eat. (Sorensen ,Williams, 54) His accomplishments as a business man was because he loved his work. Henry Ford could have priced the Model T to attract wealthy buyers. He would of sold less cars but might have been able to make more money. Ford was not in the car business to make money but to improve transportation. The quality of roads and reliability of automobiles at that time were awful. Something needed to be done to fix these issues. Even some of Ford s early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Challenges Posed For Religious Believers By Religious The challenges posed for religious believers by Religious diversity will be discussed in this paper. First, one must understand what Religious diversity is. Religious Diversity refers to religions making mutually exclusive claims that contradict one another. For this discussion, Religious Diversity will focus on contradictory claims on reaching salvation and connecting with god depending upon ones personal religion. This discussion pertains to all major western religions like Judaism, Islam, and Christianity especially, but other religions as well that claim to be the one absolute religion. These contradictions leave a religious individual with the dilemma of constructing an argument that rationally explains how there can be multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, numerous religions like Hinduism or Judaism were being practiced thousands of years prior to Christianity s founding. How can one understand all those peoples existences? It does not seem plausible to believe that their lives were pointless and they had no connection to god, or no chance of reaching salvation due to their time of birth. To be punished for something that is out of ones control is not plausible for an all powerful and merciful god to do. Another problem with religious exclusivism is how to understand pious people from various religions and cultures. It is not plausible that there are some individuals, from all different backgrounds, that in every sense of the word are exceptional humans whether it be through charity, generosity, kindness, or just being a moral person. Some of these concepts like being a good person or being a moral person are subjective, but the basic foundation of being a moral person, at least from a western monotheistic perspective, appears to be do unto others as you would want done unto yourself, also known as the golden rule. If one is aware that these pious people exist as followers of all religions, then one has to conclude that it is a flawed argument to suggest that these individuals would not achieve salvation simply due to which god they pray to. There was only one thing that everyone noticed as we walked through the Black Box Theater: this camp looked like the real deal! • 10. Was Thomas Paine Made No Secret For His Hatred Of The... Kristen Thompson Common Sense M/W 2 3:15 Thomas Paine made no secret for his hatred of the British monarchy. This was partially due to their absolutism beliefs, the oppression of his countrymen, and the system of government where the rich got richer and the poor get poorer. He believed that Britain would never have a balanced government so long as monarchy and hereditary succession stayed in place. When Thomas Paine immigrated to Philadelphia, several things had strong influences on his writing of Common Sense. The Intolerable acts as well as the Enlightenment Challenge influenced his writing concerning the view of parliament and British monarchy (maybe switch this sentence for the next one). After Parliament had passed The Intolerable Acts, Paine watched the continuation and control the British Monarchy and Parliament had in America, along with their unnatural behaviors and influence over government issues, the ideological changes that came from The Enlightenment Challenge . Paine believed change could and should happen; that America could find economic independence and not carry any burden of debt if they separated from Britain since their debt was actually Britain s in the first place. Paine said that there could be no reconciliation; he understood that to become free and have liberties with an independent government there was no going back, only forward. The performance appraisal process is defined as the process which a manager (1) examines and evaluates an employee s work behavior by comparing it with preset standards, (2) documents the results of the comparison, and (3) uses the results to provide feedback to the employee to show where improvements are needed and why (Business Dictionary, 2015). Performance appraisals are used to determine who needs what training, and who will be promoted, demoted, retained, or fired within organizations (Business Dictionary, 2015). Performance appraisals have changed over time (Glen, 1990). The BARS or behaviorally anchored rating scales evaluated employee traits such as reliability and cooperation (Glen, 1990). This system was later replaced by a management by objectives which sets performance objectives and appraised (Glen, 1990). More recently this was replaced by the merit pay and pay for performance systems (Glen, 1990). All the appraisal system attempt to maximize objectivity while minimizing uncertainty and subjectivity (Glen, 1990). Performance appraisals are often viewed as a no win situation by both managers and employees (Glen, 1990). Managers view performance appraisals as their job to provide performance feedback and motivate employees in order to drive individual and organizational improvements (Glen, 1990). Out of the nearly 120,000 inhabitants of the camps about 30,000 of those people were children, and these children needed to be educated in some way. Most of these classrooms were taught in Japanese and was the exact opposite of what these children needed. The fact that not all the education was in English was detrimental to the kids who were mostly all citizens. The push for reparations did not come up until nearly forty years later when President Jimmy Carter investigated the issue in 1980. It was determined that the internment was unethical and the citizens remaining today should receive some sort of reparations. The main reasons it was decided upon on why these individuals were interned was because of racial prejudice and hysteria. Finally, in 1988 the Civil Liberties Act was passed by President Ronald Regan, and this act gave reparations to individuals who were at some point relocated or interned. The reparations and apology was given out starting in 1990 to all the individuals who were still alive, Beginning in 1990, each surviving internee was given a $20,000 cash payment, along with a letter of apology from the government (DeWitt). Many were overjoyed that they had some time of reparation for what they went through. However, many organizations such as the American Legion, and many World War II veterans showed clear resistance to the reparations. They completely disagreed with the reparations because in their eyes the Japanese were evil in their eyes, and it was difficult for them to look upon the Japanese in any other way. It starts off with the destruction of Rome. Due to factors such as famine, economics, barbarians attacks, and the Black Death, Rome was destroyed. Rome became the perfect ideal of the time. The kings throughout the middle ages would try to recreate Rome, but they never got back to the perfect city they imagined it to be. During these long drawn out treaties the different nations would use the Z Process to come up with terms and conditions that would ultimately end decades of nuclear impasse. President Reagan and other political leaders were in constant state of creating, advancing, refining and executing their ideas. In the Geneva and Reykjavík Summits the allied nation team were not able to come to decision and instead were stuck in the refining process of their ideas. The summits were still looked upon as a success as Reagan was moving the team closer to the vision of nuclear abolishment. It wasn t until the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 1987 where the team was able to complete the entire Z Process and come to a decisive decision to abolish nuclear intermediate range weapons. Reagan demonstrated he was a visionary leader by his use of team building while utilizing the Z Process during treaty talks to come up with a solution to the nuclear stand. His use of inspirational motivation during these treaty talks to motivate the allied nations to commit to the common vision once again demonstrates how Reagan was a visionary leader. This program covers over 50 million Americans, including over 8 million disabled Americans (Raising Medicare s Eligibility Age: A Costly Benefit Cut for Senior, 2014). With the baby boomer generation coming to the age of Medicare eligibility there is an estimated drastic increase in the number of individuals participating in Medicare for their health insurance (Elmendorf, 2013). There is an increase in health care advances which allows for many aging individuals to be able to live and work past the age of 65 (current Medicare eligibility age). Some individuals make the decision to retire at 65, even though they can continue to work, and qualify for Medicare instead of paying for health insurance through their old employers. If the age was increased to 70 years old and the same population continued to keep working then it would reduce the need for Medicare coverage for those that can still qualify for benefits through their employers (Davidoff, 2003). This would continue to save the Federal government money for Medicare. This also goes along with the life expectancy rising which means individuals are staying on Medicare coverage for a longer period of time which means more spending (Khimm, 2013). If the minimum eligibility age was increase then it would line up better with the life expectancy and continue to save the Federal government more and more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
